Chapter 242: Chapter 241 Running Off at the Mouth_l

    Trantor: 549690339

Richard’s speech was interrupted, and his face was decidedly unhappy.

However, since this was a Willson Group event, he had no choice but to suppress his dissatisfaction and turned to Julius Reed: “And this gentleman is…”

    “My husband.”

Que Radcliffe introduced with a smile.

The appearance of Julius Reed was somewhat unexpected for Que Radcliffe; she stood up and, in a low voice, asked, “Why have youe?”

She had asked before, but Julius had said he was busy; thus, Que didn’t inquire further.

Her unexpected delight at his arrival was evident.

“This kind of g is teeming with all sorts of people; any Tom, Dick, or Harry could slip in. I was worried about you, so I came to have a look.”

Julius Reed smiled lightly and pulled Que Radcliffe into his embrace: “If there’s anything that’s not taken care of properly here, just let me know, and I’ll sort them out.”

    “Alright, got it!”

Que Radcliffe nodded, her face blooming with a genuine smile.

“Heh heh, brother, you don’tck confidence, do you!”

At that moment, Richard let out a sneer: “We’re all men here, I understand that you want to show off in front of your woman. But we’re at a Willson Group ceremony; who exactly are you going toin to if the service is inadequate? There’s a limit to bluffing.”

He had intended to hit on Que Radcliffe, but now with Julius Reed showing up, his mood took a turn for the worse.

With the couple’s status clear, Richard felt a twinge of disappointment, but he also wanted to put Julius Reed down a peg.

Having long cavorted with women, he was confident he could charm Que Radcliffe.

What did a husband matter? It was all just a bit of fun for him.

    “And this gentleman is?”

Julius Reed turned to look at Richard, his eyes full of contempt as if he were looking at something utterly trivial.

A seasoned businessman, Richard could not help but notice the overt hostility in the other man’s gaze.

    Very straightforward.

“Fast Logistics Chairman, Richard. Might I ask who you are?”

Richard, upon mentioning his own name, was filled with pride.

At his age, to have such a business empire was quite an achievement. Even within Five-river Province, he was known as a prominent young entrepreneur. With the backing of Stanius Potter from Golden Eagle Group, his confidence was even greater.

After all, his uncle was a Boss-level figure in the businessmunity of Five-river Province, and this was his capital for boasting. Apart from the so-called “Four Young Masters of Five-river Province,” he, Richard, was a rising star.

As for this young man before him?

He had never heard of him; probably just a freeloader.

“Oh! So you’re a foreigner; no wonder you don’t look Chinese!”

Julius Reed smiled lightly, ignoring Richard, as he turned to give Que Radcliffe a reminder: “I still have some matters to take care of. If you need anything, just look for someone called Miguel Abbott. She’ll help you resolve any issues on my behalf.”

“Okay. Go on; I won’t worry you here.”

Que Radcliffe nodded, no longer acting like an assertive President Radcliffe, but rather like an obedient wife.

“Miguel Abbott? President of Moonlight Group?”

Richard overheard and couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows: “Brother, you sure talk a big game! Do you also im to know Stanius Potter from Golden Eagle Group?”

Miguel Abbott’s reputation in Five-river Province was known to everyone; a figure as notable as Stanius Potter, a very dominant businessperson.

Richard had heard a lot about Miguel Abbott from Stanius Potter’s mouth.

His uncle had said that he was a gambler and a fiercepetitor, one not to be lightly provoked.

“Stanius Potter, the chairman of Golden Eagle Group, I know him, and we have a pretty good rtionship!”

Julius Reed nodded, patted Que Radcliffe on the shoulder, and then turned to

    “Tsk! ”

Richard snorted disdainfully and turned his head to Que Radcliffe, ‘Miss, your husband really has a talent for bragging. If I’m not mistaken, he’s being kept by someone else, right? You should be careful with this kind of man!”

Golden Eagle Group’s Stanius Potter was his uncle, would Richard not know if they really were acquainted?

Moreover, Stanius Potter was proud by nature, barely interacting with others outside of a few major businessmen in the Five-river Province, especially not with someone young and prone to spouting nonsense like that.

    “You know all this?”

Dempsey Davenport said mysteriously, “That guy who just left is the son-inw who married into President Radcliffe’s family. He doesn’t do anything; just eats up their food! Unlike you, so young and promising, truly a role model for the youth!”

Although she and Que Radcliffe had a superior-subordinate rtionship, they got along quite well privately. Although she wasn’t as intimate with Que Radcliffe as Lance Casey and yinka Davenport, she could still be considered a close friend.

Dempsey Davenport knew about the Radcliffe Family affairs somewhat, including how Julius Reed had miraculously helped Que Radcliffe take the chairman position.

Dempsey wasn’t foolish; in fact, she was quite intelligent. She had already guessed that Julius Reed had a very powerful background, unlike those in the Radcliffe Family who saw him as a worthless son-inw.

    “Amanda, don’t talk nonsense!”

Que Radcliffe knew exactly what Dempsey Davenport was up to; she was trying to set Richard up, so she red at her.

To Richard, this scene looked like Que Radcliffe was infuriated after being exposed.

That pretty much confirmed his suspicion.

“It’s fine! Miss Radcliffe, don’t mind it. I just wanted to be friends with you. I truly sympathize with your situation.”

He immediately feigned concern, “Such an outstanding woman like you ended up with a kept man! It would be okay if he worked hard, but unfortunately, he’s all talk and not at all practical! I hope you’ll seriously consider your future; don’t waste your youth. ”

It seemed like earnest advice, but he was actually sowing discord.

Thinking that the other party was just a son-inw living off his wife’s family made Richard excited once again.

“Thank you, I’m currently focusing all my energy on my career, not thinking about much else.”

    Que Radcliffe replied dismissively.

If it weren’t for the importance of the Willson Group’s event, she would’ve wanted to switch tables, to get away from Richard.

    “Hey! Richard!”

Just then, a few more people walked in from the entrance and made their way directly toward their table.

“Zalman Michael, what a coincidence you’re here too?”

Upon seeing the approaching woman, Richard hurriedly stood up, his face oozing sycophancy, “Aboutst time, how did your discussion go?”

“Zalman Michael, a renowned female entrepreneur from Five-river Province, the chairman of Maxwell Davenport Cosmetics Group. And she has another identity.”

Dempsey Davenport looked at the woman mysteriously and whispered to Que Radcliffe, “She’s also Miguel Abbott’s mistress, but there are rumors that their rtionship is more about mutual use, and Miguel Abbott doesn’t really like this vixen.”

    “You know all this?”

Que Radcliffe raised an eyebrow at Dempsey Davenport. This didn’t seem like a Chief Financial Officer at all, more like the chief of the paparazzi!

“You mean the logistics matter? Oh my, I actually forgot about that, but I’ll go back and discuss it with them, see what the different departments think.” Zalman Michael walked straight to the table and sat down next to Dempsey
