Chapter 191

Shakira''s soft and confused voice hit Walter''s heart. He had received a call from Levi, learning that Fiona and Jaslene hade to give

    a hard time.

Although he knew Shakira was strong and never let anyone take advantage of her, he still worried. He dropped everything at work and rushed back without a second thought. But when he saw her, the first thing she said was... Walter was feeling all sorts of emotions and barely heard Shakira''s sweet voice asking. "If you don''t like me, why is there a photo of me on your desk? Are you secretly nning to strangle me or something?" Walter took a sharp breath and spoke in a voice that was so rough, "Who told you I have a photo on my

    desk?"

"Fiona." Shakira tilted her head, looking like she was still thinking hard. "She came over just to show me the photo. She thought it was someone else and even said I''m a stand-in or something-"

Walter cursed quietly to himself. He took a deep breath and said, "It''s the picture Brian took from outside when we were watching a movie."

Shakira finally understood and said, "Oh, so Brian took it. I was wondering." She smirked slightly and continued, "I didn''t expect Brian to capture such a vibe in the photo."

Walter, for once, agreed, "It''s a nice photo."

    Shakira gave

Walter a sidelong nce and continued, "Nice enough for you to keep it on your desk, huh?" Her tone was yful and rxed as if she didn''t take it too seriously. Walter, for

some reason, didn''t want to just brush this off. His deep eyes locked onto Shakira.

"Yes, you''re right. I like you," said Walter.

The moment Walter confirmed it, Shakira was once again caught in a daze. Walter was still all over the ce, feeling a panic he couldn''t control, and hisrge hand on Shakira''s arm trembled slightly, with undeniable warmthing off it. But Walter didn''t wait for Shakira to turn around and continued, "I''ve never felt this can tell you that I''ve never had the desire to possess any other woman besides you.

"That time when I said I had feelings for you, you thought it was just about your body... I won''t deny that was part of it. But at the same time, I wasn''t just attracted to your body. I just didn''t admit it back then.

"I used to think liking someone was silly and ridiculous, but clearly, the one who''s be silly and ridiculous is me."

Walter poured out his thoughts and feelings in a jumble. He was uncertain if he hadn''t said enough or worried if he had said too much.

He instinctively swallowed. His Adam''s apple moved as he stared at Shakira''s reaction without blinking. Just as he thought, a look of surprise and amazement shed across Shakira''s face.

However, the sense of relief Shakira showed afterward was unexpected for Walter,

    Walter hesitated to speak, "You..."

Shakira smiled, "It''s a good thing you don''t stare at my photos every day just to try and strangle me."

Walter frowned as if deeply contemting the meaning behind Shakira''s response. After a moment, he pressed his lips together and said, "Okay, I understand."

    Shakira was confused.

"What do you think you know?" asked Shakira.

Walter looked at Shakira with no expression and said, "You didn''t directly address my confession, so you''re rejecting me."

    Shakira blinked in surprise.

Realizing that Walter thought this way, the expression on her face became serious. She quickly exined, "I didn''t say I didn''t like you. If I didn''t like you, would I be around you all the time?" Walter narrowed his eyes, watching Shakira with suspicion. "You like me too?"

Shakira paused for a moment and said, "I guess so?"

Before she could finish her sentence, the air around them seemed to turn icy suddenly. With a dangerous vibe, Walter let out a cold, mockingugh. "You guess so?" Shakira quickly corrected herself. "Sure, of course. I like you!" She had every reason to believe that if she answered a momentter, Walter might snap her neck... Walter let out a heavy hum and said, "Your confession might not be on point, but I''ll reluctantly ept it."

Shakira couldn''t hold back a smile.

Walter watched Shakiraugh so carefree. All his inner struggles and doubts disappeared instantly. And... Shakira looked beautiful when sheughed.

Walter waited for Shakira to finishughing before putting on a serious face. "Alright then. Since you''re okay, I''m going back now."

Shakira blinked in surprise and said, "Huh? I thought you were already off work."

Before Walter could exin, Shakira suddenly realized. "Oh! Levi told you that Fiona was bullying me, and you got worried and came back just for me?"

A hint of difort shed across Walter''s face, but he didn''t deny it.

Shakira couldn''t help but hold her stomach andugh again, tears squeezing from her eyes. "Alright, I can tell you do like me a lot."

Walter''s ears got a bit warm. He shouted in frustration, "Shakira!"

"I''m notughing at you. I just think... Hahaha. It''s amusing." Shakira tried to control herself but couldn''t. "You''re just too cute. Hahaha!" Walter was rendered speechless.

He lifted his hand furiously. Shakira half-closed her eyes, not dodging as she watched Walter ce his hand on her face, angrily squeezing her cheeks.

Yet Walter still wasn''t satisfied because Shakira keptughing. He wanted to tease her even more!

Walter''s Adam''s apple moved, his hand sliding from squeezing Shakira''s cheek to the back of her head, cupping her face, and pulling her lovely features right in front of him.

Shakira''s eyes widened instantly, too shocked to speak as her hands ended up on the firm chest of the man in front of her. A momentter, a warm sensation enveloped her lips...
