《The Beast》 Blood in the rug Prologue Being chased through the streets, she screamed out in horror. The creature sprinted towards her, craving for her flesh. She turned around, and it had vanished. She stoped, relieved. The next second, blood sprayed on the alley walls. The beast feasts. Chapter one "We are here today to honor the life of Eleanor Rooche, a mother to three, a loyal wife, and a friend of us all. Why would God take her away from us, if not for the greater good. Let us hope her soul is safe and happy with God." Shouted the preach, trying to reach the corners of the temple. "How did my mom stand that guy?" asked Dennis, Eleanor''s son."How did she date him?" "That''s what you''re missing," whispered Dennis'' friend, Bobby. "She clearly didn''t stand him. That''s why he lives in a one bath, one bed apartment and eats off brand frosted flakes." Dennis choked, holding back a snicker. "Now, would anyone else like to speak?" Yelled the priest, still in a monotone voice. Dennis shot up his hand, being one in many to do so. "Why don''t we hear from Eleanor''s eldest son, Mr. Dennis. "Dennis stumbled up, as the choir glared at him, still angry he had quit singing five years ago. "My mother," Dennis sighed. "Was one of the best people I know. As we all know, my mom was the owner of Ellie''s enjoyable farm, which sold fruit, vegetables, and animal products. This made her a local celebrity, so it''s no surprise that she was brutally murdered. Okay, who was it? Was it you Mr.Harold? You''re a rancher, and you''ve disliked, if not hated, our fa-" "OKAY," interrupted the priest, "thank you Mr.Dennis, please get off the stage. As Dennis was shoved off the stage, Bobby winced. Oddly enough, Dennis'' uncle had died during an earthquake that had happened a few days ago.He had hoped that Dennis wouldn''t react the same way he did at his uncle''s funeral, but Bobby knew that Dennis would still react like this. "Two in a week," Dennis muttered. "Next thing I know, I''ll end up in Norway with some random creep." "It won''t be THAT bad." Reassured Bobby. "I bet the worst case scenario will be that you''ll have to live with me."If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Dennis then groaned at this idea. He had been to Bobby''s house, and it was a disaster. Not only were there pudding stains on the floor, walls, and somehow even the roof, which Dennis still hadn''t figured out, some animal wandered into his house every week. Also, everyone at Bobby''s house was either sleeping, or they had passed out. "Thank you all for speaking," bellowed the Priest. "Please walk towards the west entrance, and we hope to see you all next Sunday. This week, though, we do have a routine check on the church." Daniel and Bobby sprinted out of the temple, both worrying about Priest Selam, the one who spoke at the funerals, trying to convince. Them to get baptized. "I thought you went to church." Panted Dennis. "I do, but I only go because my mom threatens to take my sugar privileges away if I don''t go." Informed Bobby. The two strolled down the street, chatting until the road split. "See you in science class!" Dennis Yelled. Bobby waved goodbye and turned away from Dennis. As Dennis arrived home, he was immediately attacked by his little sister, who was too young to stay quiet at a funeral. Dennis recuperated from this ambush, swiftly whipping up some mac-n''-cheese for his sister to eat so that she wouldn''t dig through his room. Fortunately, he kept all his books inside his bed. This made it very uncomfortable, but at least she didn''t find Dennis'' copies of ''The Shining'' or ''IT''. Once Dennis'' younger sister, Shella, was under wraps, Dennis moped to his bed, pulling out a book to drown himself in. After that didn''t work, Dennis limped back outside grabbing the melatonin. "May I have some candy too?" Whined Shella. "It''s not candy," clarified Dennis. "And it was given to me by the doctor for my sleep deprivation." "I want sweep depwacation." Babbled Shella. Dennis shut the door in the girl''s face and collapsed in his bed. Seconds later, it was black. _____________________ Bobby jogged into the house, panting. "Sorry mom! The funeral was today." Apologized Bobby. "Mom? A-are you home?" As Bobby sneaked through the house he saw and felt a disturbing presence. The brown pudding stains were red, the window was smashed, the lights weren''t working, and the floor was broken up. A growling noise echoed from the kitchen, as well as chewing. It seemed like something ripped out of a horror novel. That''s what it was. Bobby was just asleep in his bed, with a full stomach and a smile on his face. This was just a nightmare from all of Dennis'' books. He just had to walk into the kitchen and he would wake up. As Bobby inched towards the kitchen he smiled and shut his eyes. As the beast leaped on him, shredding his body apart, Bobby thought to himself, "I hope my next dream is happy." As the beast ripped apart his hippocampus, Bobby got an eternal good dream. Terry Chapter two Angela was on her way to school when she saw Dennis. Usually Bobby was with him, but there was only Dennis. "Hey, have you seen Bobby?" Asked Dennis, who must have realized she was staring at him. "No," responded Angela. "But I DID see that his windows were smashed. When I looked inside I thought I saw red paint. Don''t know what that was about." "W-wait what?" Stammered Dennis. "We-were there any chunks of the paint that looked kind of pink?" "I guess, why?" Puzzled Angela. "Wait, you don''t think-" "Uh-huh." Answered Dennis. "He would''ve just thought it was a dream. He thought that every bad thing was a dream since watching Wizard of Oz." Dennis ran for the police station, hoping for a chance that Bobby was still alive. As the cops arrived at Bobby''s house though, there was no doubt. It was Bobby on the walls. School was let out that day, hoping for a recovery by next week. The district''s mistake was all the kids knew was some random kid had died in his house. The only people who knew him were Angela, Dennis, and the bully, Tex Shamira. "Where''s the punching bag? I need to show him something." Smirked Tex. "DEAD." Snapped Angela. "Were you not in school? He was murdered in his own house. So why don''t You just run to Norway and never come back. Maybe one of those things killed Bobby, so you can get revenge for your ''PUNCHING BAG''." "Hey, maybe YOU can be my new punching bag." Grinned Tex. As Tex started to Raise his arm, Angela''s leg flew up, hitting Tex''s face in less than a second. "What was that?" Whispered Dennis. "Sorry!" Screamed Angela. "My defense lessons must have kicked in." __________________ "The building looks good." Complemented the Inspector. "I can tell you and the other priest take good care of this chur-" The doors slammed open, revealing a little girl with her stuffed bear. "Shella?" Yelled priest Selam. "I fought there was chuwch today." Babbled Shella. "I guess it''s Mac and cheese monday. Can I have some? I wove ice cweam." As Shella spoke, the Vent rattled. The wall burst, showing a hideous creature. The beast lunged for priest Selam, ripping through his chest and gnawing and his neck. Out popped a smaller, less muscular version of the first creature with extra teeth. The small beast leaped on Shella. As the beast landed, it dove into her mouth, ripping her apart from the inside. The inspector ran for the door, but he was too late. The exit doors burst open, as a third, bear-like beast sprinted in and swallowed the inspector''s head whole. As the first and second beast were dining, something changed in the third. He stood up, confused. Gone was the mindless killing machine, now regaining his ancestors consciousness. The beast grabbed the inspector''s clothes as the other beasts ran. The creature stumbled out of the building and walked to the one place he could see and smell: a diner. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. It was on the edge of the town, about a half mile from the church. It had red seats, oak walls, and concrete floor. Bobby used to order the deluxe sandwich. It had ham, beef, pastrami, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard and mayo. "What can I get for you?" Questioned the waitress. "We would like two deluxe sandwiches with cokes." Ordered Dennis. As the waitress turned around, the doors burst open, nearly breaking, showing a hulking figure. As he walked over to Dennis and Angela, he sat down, putting intense pressure on the seat. "A- and what can I get for you?" Stammered the waitress after spinning around. "Sssaamme." Groaned the man. The waitress backed away, and then ran for the kitchen. "Who are you and what do you want?"shouted Angela." "Mmmoonnssterr." Shouted the man. "I- were aarre moonnssterrss. Ppooor chhiilldrrenn. Whhyy diidd wwee eeatt theemm? "These creatures, that are like you, have been killing and eating people, some who were children. They threaten all life, and they are mindless beasts who probably killed Bobby." "Yyesss."
