《Tendency》 Chapter 01 "You''re coming back?" The female voice spoke aloud, the mirror hanging in front of the white marble bathroom wall reflected the figure of a girl. Claire couldn''t close her mouth for a certain amount of time. Only when the person on line spoke did she returned. "You''re coming this afternoon....? Ah, then, I''ll be preparing." Claire replied as she tucked her hair behind her ears. Her brown eyes moved distorted around the enclosed space as she finally looked at herself within the mirror with smiling eyes... Claire learned to be independent at a young age. This was due to their parents dying. Holding the hand of her dear younger sister that was only four at that time, Claire could only hold her head down low as she promised to do everything she could to sustain their needs. Her proposal was also a rejection towards the attempting relatives who wished to adopt them or with another particular reason. Both selflessly and selfishly. Clara, Claire''s younger sister, held her big sister''s hand tightly. The young four year old glanced at the black and white pictures of a blurry figure of two. The little girl''s huge hazel eyes blinked softly as tears tainted the corner. Claire became troubled seeing her sister starting to tear up. The six year old girl bend her knees halfway down and wiped the little girl''s tears away. "Don''t be sad, Meimei." Murmured Claire thoughtfully. Her hand caressed the other''s soft milky cheeks. Her brown eyes squinted as she patted the little girl''s back. "Mom and dad are currently at wonderland. Don''t believe the adult''s fake words and lies. They''ll pick us up when their done with their long time honeymoon. So don''t leave sister, okay?" Clara looked up, the soft and delicate cutie smiled. But away from the other''s view, Clara rolled her hands into fists. She might be a young four year old, but she wasn''t a three year old kid. Her knowledge of the world was slightly plenty, and she knew what death means. And ever since, Clara became badly behaved. The girl bellowed those who won''t do as she wishes. The spoiled child threw things into the ground and the maids fearfully looked at the young beautiful child. The shattering noises grew louder and Claire looked at this by the corner of the door. Her eyes glinted with peculiar emotion. "Meimei.. " Claire''s voice turned lower as she glanced at the haughty girl in black princess dress. The girl''s eyes focused on the two caskets that was being lowered onto the deep hole a step away. ... After the funeral, years have passed by in a blink of an eye. The young six year old became twenty three and began to live thrifty to sustain her little sister''s expensive wants. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Claire held her black hair into a ponytail, the tips of curl, curved upwards as her brown monolid eyes looked towards the boiling pot of soup. Claire was fair looking, her features have been shaped after all these years. But her beauty didn''t hold any greatness, it wasn''t at all her problem, Claire nevertheless didn''t care if she looked beautiful or not. Her hand held the wooded ladle carefully, as she twirled the soup of misty sweetness. The mist and hot smoke flew towards her face, a tear drop of sweat poured listlessly as she turned the flame off. Unhidden excitement glinted at her brown eyes, she was preparing lunch for her dearest person. The child she watched and looked over after seventeen years finally decided to return. Happiness flooded and love was poured and sprinkled on the dishes she made. After she had dropped out of college when schoolwork began piling up, Claire found enough time to work and also improve her skills in cooking. She suddenly remembered when Clara was only fourteen. The teenager looked at the dishes she cooked with disdain. She never really cooked at first, their parents have left money for them after they died but instead of being until eighteen, the inheritance have been used up in the years. They lost money to pay the maids and had to live thriftily, Clara showed disagreement when she spoke her thought of freezing the girl''s card at that moment... knock. Knock. Her thoughts stopped when she heard the pounding and knocking of the door. Claire blinked before realizing there was someone outside the door. Her body turned towards the living room and passed by the shoe corner. Her hand held the doorknob and turned it in a a lightly trembling motion. "Sister?" Claire looked up and her eyes widened in yearn and surprise. Clara was born beautiful, her beauty meter was to the max. The girl''s fair jade white skin glowed under the sun''s bright light. Claire almost was in dispute whether the girl standing before her was even her sister - The girl''s unfamiliar soft and gentle look was in contrast to the past bratty and fierce way her eyebrows have been. "Sister, I miss you!" Claire broke free from her trance as the stunning girl rushed towards her and issued a hug. "I miss you too!" Spoke Claire in delight. A smile blossomed on her agape mouth as she embraced the girl back. Claire then pulled the door close as she made way for her sister''s baggage and pointed at where the living room was. Clara followed the pointer and rushed to the sofa. The girl quickly sat down as she slanted and leaned against the soft cushion. "Arghh...I''m finally home..." Clara muttered with a deadpanned look. Claire looked at this and heard each words the other spoke. Her face blushed as she happily held a hand near her chest. Home. The girl that always rebelled finally thought of this house as her home. Only God knows how much happiness and joy flourished on Claire''s heart. Knowing that she remained quiet, Claire opened her mouth and slowly chose her words carefully. She tested her voice by speaking a whisper, her voice was doubted to crack after having a temptation to cry, seeing that it was fine, Claire looked at the black haired girl with a smile, "W...Welcome Home, Clara...Meimei" Clara turned to face Claire and grinned with crescent eyes. "Yes, thank you!" The girl she thought would never say those words spoke out gleefully. Claire suppressed the emotion to cry, as her smile turned bitter. A thought then passed within her mind making her joy froze. Claire gripped the ladle she was holding strongly as her eyes reflected the smiling face of the girl in yellow sweater. ''Clara, you''ve changed. It''s quite frightening. You''re no longer the same. Though looking as usual, You''re now different. Its ... '' Clair shook her head and then turned around and said, "I''m going to prepare the table. I''ll call you when I''m done." Clara hummed in agreement. Clair didn''t stood there any longer and walked towards the kitchen. Her steps paused a while before resuming back. Chapter 02 Claire held the bowls filled with food towards the wooden table on the dining room. Plates have been placed above two mats that stood opposite to each other and spoons and forks have been compiled. The bowls filled with the soup she cooked was placed on the middle as she turned around to take the cups filled with rice and put it face down on the clear white surface of the plates. Preparing the table took almost twenty minutes. Claire glanced at the clock and saw it was currently 12: 10. Her motion stopped as she looked towards the living room, eyeing the busy girl that was currently fondling with her phone. "Cla- Meimei...It''s time to eat lunch." Called Claire loudly. The girl sitting on the couch looked up with a flinch and looked towards the girl with tied black hair. Clara didn''t waste anymore time and quickly stood up. She hastily walked towards the dining table and sat on the chair opposite to the one on the right side. "Whoah," gasped Clara in amazement. Her hand held the spoon as she opened the cups that revealed nicely cooked sticky soft rice. Clara smiled and then glanced at Claire who stood beside. "It looks wonderful, Big sister." "Really?" Her eyes remaining on the figure sitting on the opposite eyes with probing gaze. Clara finally didn''t become overly ignorant and quickly catched the questioning glare. Her hands that was slicing the pork paused a bit as her smile deepened. "Sorry for intruding. I know that I''m already big yet I''m becoming dependent on you. I just had a realization that I''ve never visited you once. Next time, I''ll treat you. For now, I''ll taste your mesmerizing food."Said Clara as she propped a pork into her mouth. Claire retrieved her gaze and replied, "It''s nothing. I''m glad you remembered to visit me. Ever since you reached nineteen, you''ve became far from reach. It''s been a very long time since we have eaten together." Clara nodded, "Yes...yes. Its quite troubling that I used to have a bratty personality but you won''t need to be upset anymore. I have grown!" "Oh.." Whispered Claire as her gaze drifted towards her plate. She suddenly looked up and then stood, her hand held the chair''s upper pillar and said, "I forgot that the dishes I''ve served was lacking." "Hmm? Everything looks good, by what do you mean?" Claire turned around and walked towards the kitchen, after a few minutes, she walked out and went towards the table holding a plate of green peas. "You like these, don''t you remember?" Clara stiffly laughed, "oh hah...ha..ha, I must have forgotten. Hehe, don''t worry, I have my appetite and I''ll like to eat it!" After she said so, Clara took the peas and put it into her plate. She began to dig in and Claire watched this for a short moment before following. Suddenly, coughing sounded and Claire''s hand paused. Her head looked up and her monolid eyes squinted. Clara choked and uncontrollably her nose bled. Claire was in worry, she let go of her spoon and dashed to the opposite side, her hand patting the girl''s back as her brows furrowed in distress. Chapter 03 Claire spoke, "You were allergic to peas!?" Her hand that patted the girl''s back paused for a short while before resuming back. But the strength within it was getting lighter and lighter and before Clara knew it, she was no longer being patted. Clara rubbed her nose, "I didn''t know. Also, who would have thought..." "But you used to take a lot to eat years back. How could... Are you alright?" "I...I''m fine, just some nose bleeding and-" As Clara''s voice died out, violent coughing rised in volume. Claire stared at this and her mouth slightly curled up before returning back into it''s former state. "I''m very sorry, I''m such a failure of a sister, I didn''t know you were allergic to it. Meimei, please forgive me." Claire said with dropping eyelids. Clara put a palm over her mouth and shook her head, "It''s alright, you''re not the one at fault...this aside, may I go to the bathroom?" Claire slightly smiled, "Sure..." Clara quickly stood up and rushed towards the restroom, leaving the figure of Claire alone in the dining hall. Watching the other''s figure walk further, Claire could no longer suppress her distraught. Her lips was pursed to an ugly smile that halfway turned into a frown. Her eyes turned empty and emotionless dull brown as her black pupils stared the shadow of her younger sister.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. The perplexing glint in her eyes was not fading but continuing until it outshone the bright lighting of the sun. Her nails dug deep into the wooden chair''s upper frame and blood uncontrollably bled. The pain seemed to be unnoticeable, Claire had her gaze fixed on the restroom door, neither flinching or in disarray... (...) Clara looked at herself in the mirror, her hand wiped the red blood that dipped from her nostrils. She was not expecting herself to be allergic to peas, she never was in her previous life. It was contradicting to know that her taste have been changed, she didn''t think that there would be this outcome after transmigrating. "The book never mentioned this..." Her hand propped her forehead as sweat poured down on her cheeks, Clara bit her lower lip with difficulty. She was none other but a victim of death, now she have been forcibly sent into this world in the body of a cannon fodder. But then, her eyes glinted with happiness, the joy of the future she was bound to reach was laid out before her - Clara knew that though bad luck held her wrist in the past, just like any transmigrators out there, she was going to become a big figure! So despite all of this, she was clear of her intentions. She held the protagonist''s thigh tightly and all there is left is to mend the bad girl image from everyone''s perspective, which would of course begin at the closest relative, Claire. "Hu..," Sighed Clara as her head ducked down. Her fore hair scattered before her eyes as she looked at her reflection. "It''s okay Clara, you can do this! We''ll fix the mistakes the previous owner had done that includes our image and our profanity, we can''t make anymore mistakes lest that the flag of doom arrives early." After a few words of encouragement, Clara first washed her face with water and wiped it dry. Clara did not remain inside the enclosed space any longer, she exited the restroom and had failed to notice - the mirror shone, a bright red dot appeared in the middle. The camera that was of the size of a bug flickered and seemingly trembled in joy as it caught everything on tape. Chapter 04 Clara went out of the restroom and Claire worriedly said, "Are you alright?" Clara tilted her head and answered, "Yes, I currently am. The allergic reaction didn''t worsen so I think I am." Claire was smiling when she abruptly spoke,"Then, have you gotten the peas out?" "Pardon?" Said Clara in confusion. Claire''s eyes widened,"You didn''t vomit it out?" "I already ate it down to my stomach, how on earth could I spit it out and it''s very disgusting." Clara replied as her eyes moved towards the side, dodging the eye contact Claire was about to commence. "Ha," Claire sighed helplessly, "As long as your alright.." Her eyes darted towards the cold food in the table and she choked, "Because of my mistake, the lunch have ended in a mess. I shouldn''t have given you the peas, this wouldn''t have resulted." "There''s still some things that could be done, but, I have unexpectedly lost my appetite. I''m very sorry big sister. I have wasted your efforts and have made the food cold." Bitterly spoken Clara as head hang low. "It''s fine." Claire shook her head as she then asked, "It''s currently two in the afternoon, you should rest in your room. Speaking of which, it''s on the left side in that hallway." "Then I''ll excuse myself." Clara said as she walked towards the sofa and dragged her suitcase behind, "Umm..." "It''s alright, you don''t need to help. Just go to your room and have fun." Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. Clara chose to concede, she turned around and went inside her room. The sound of door closing sounded and Claire finally let go of her stiff forced smile. Her brown eyes darted towards the kitchen again as she held the dirtied and used plates in her arms. She took one step inside before she stopped, she then let go of the dishes into the trash can, treating them as lousy garbage as the clanging of the glass plates echoed, Claire didn''t spare it anymore glance as she turned back to the table. Swiping the food she cooked, she turned around once more and placed it decisively inside the refrigerator. Claire then pushed the ref''s door close as she exhaled. "The way she''s acting is out of ordinary, strictly speaking, she should have known about it but she''s still smiling like this." Muttered Claire to herself as her gaze shifted towards the picture held inside the wooden picture frame right above the wall. Two girls were standing closely to each other while two people stood behind. This was the picture taken a minute before the two person''s death. Seeing it, Claire smiled wholeheartedly, it was pristine and pure. Her pearly teeth was showcased as she took a red marker from the top of the refrigerator. "She''s behaving so weirdly, did those guys you two raised outside, arrived? They must have erased her memories, cause if not, why would she be clueless towards her allergy-" then Claire exclaimed, "Ah, oh what a fool I must have been, Clara didn''t have any allergies, I made her one! This aside, I''m missing my cute spoiled sister I''ve raised..." Her hand moved the red marker as she scribbled on the picture. She drew a line in their parent''s face, it was drawn over their eyes. Then lastly, she drew a circle, encircling Clara''s cute face that was filled with smiles, her hand holding the marker suddenly went crude as she suddenly encircled the empty background that was on the space provided after the man and woman were hugging themselves closely. "Say," Clare spoke. Her eyes moving towards her back as she faced the air. "Was my cooking really that good..." "...Meimei?" Forming within the background, was rippling water. A figure was then formed, somewhat identical to Clara but somewhat not. The entity cocked their head and issued a smile. "It is." Then her smile turned slightly pursued as they added, "If we cross out the poison you''ve put inside." Chapter 05 - Daisy and curiosity Hearing the reply, Claire grinned. "Well that''s surprising, you actually knew." "I''m very observant, just like how the old Clara was." Answered the entity with a smile. Claire tilted her head, leaning it against the door. Her grin widened as she fondled with her hair. "I agree. Clara wouldn''t have bid to my rules if she wasn''t." After she spoke, silence resumed. The entity frowned and then asked, "By the time Clara had ran out of your grasp, why were you sure she''d return?" Claire opened her mouth as she glanced to the side, "I already said it didn''t I?" Her hand was raised and leveled towards her shoulder as swung to the left, "Mom and dad had raised two kids outside and I happen to find their diary where they stated that after Clara turns twenty, they''d erase her memories to ensure that I alone would be their heir." "Are you serious or not?" The entity asked with bewilderment. Claire replied,"I''m solemn, geez...Can''t you see my face?" "I would have believed if not for how you tend to laugh when you speak seriously." The entity pursued their lips into a thin smile. "Fu..I''m forcing myself not to chuckle nor giggle yet you still can''t see my seriousness! Ah, I shouldn''t shout - hey Meimei, has Clara closed her door?" Claire said expressionlessly. The entity raised an eyebrow,"Am I your informer? It''s not like that I am not one...She''s laying on her bed, fondling with her phone, talking with this Emily girl which would be undoubtedly the protagonist she had mentioned." The entity froze and looked at her in surprise, "You didn''t know? With your personality and tendencies, you should have known about it by now." "That''s why I''m heading towards my room. Can''t you see?" Claire pointed at the door she was entering, she then pushed the door and walked inside. Right as she was in, she suddenly looked back and saw Clara looking at her in confusion. "Big sister, were you just talking to yourself?" Clara asked while gripping her phone. She was just relaxing inside her room when she suddenly had the impulse to drink water. Just as she was about to fetch a drink, she saw Claire taking to herself. Claire didn''t flinch neither did she panic, she then softly said, "I have? You must have seen wrong, I was talking with my manager...don''t you see I''m holding a phone?" "Ah, right..." Clara awkwardly replied, she then returned to walking and left the halls. Claire prudently then muttered, "Resemblance of antiquity, you really won''t warn me beforehand." The entity suddenly asked, "She''s going to the kitchen and is bound to see where you''ve thrown the plates." "But I have answers ready, if she suspects then that is how it should be." Claire wantonly added, "Moreover, let''s talk about this daughter of fate you have in mind." Claire swiftly opened her phone and tapped on the flower icon a few swipes away from the homepage. The phone screen abruptly turned black as a sudden white silhouette popped up in the middle. "It''s been so long, dear Daisy." Said Claire as she poked the figure in white, a chibi boy with a daisy headband. Daisy pouted before swinging his hips, "I caught her up on tape, I''m a good daisy, aren''t I?" Claire didn''t reply as she tapped the icon that popped up on the upper corner. Then, the background transformed into the video whereas the little boy named Daisy was in the foreground, standing on the corner. Upon seeing the content, Claire couldn''t help but have a cold expression. "Daisy, I think you had a mistake. This is a video of me showering.." "Oopsie Daisy, that was a mishap." The little boy stated with a blush, the video then changed and was now of content regarding Clara. After seeing the video, Claire couldn''t help but laugh. "Our world is a book? She must have been one of those people mentioned by most famous novels." The entity nodded, "See?" "That''s why I''m very curious. What role do I have in that book?"
