《So Long For Now, Summer》 Chapter 1 1.Prologue In the end, the child finally disappeared. She touched her stomach even before she opened her eyes. Okay. The child has completely gone. A bright fluorescent light poked through her closed eyelids. There was still the smell of the hospital that she had been smelling before closing her eyes. She didn¡¯t want to open her eyes yet, because she didn¡¯t want to hear someone say anything to her when she opened her eyes. Just for a while more. When she opened her eyes in the ambulance, she was convinced from then on. Or maybe she already knew it from the beginning. The cool sensation of something flowing between her legs. The heavy shock of her lower abdomen¡. The child has finally disappeared. For others, this ¡®finally¡¯ moment would be taken literally as ¡®finally¡¯ this ¡®trouble¡¯ has disappeared from the world Sadly not for her. She didn¡¯t want to be caught by him, so she swallowed it and pressed it inside, but she had always been looking forward to meeting her child. Maybe it was obvious, and it looked a little stupid. She also knew how miserable it would seem to be excited by herself. He had no interest in her child. As I have warned myself from the beginning The child, whose parents did not even want to give birth to, had no name to call even after the child died. The child was just a ¡®child¡¯. Then, right now this child was just a dead child. It felt like it was only yesterday that she made the decision as she was caressing her stomach that started to show noticeably. I will love you at least twice as much as to replace your dad. But the child was gone, and the double-magnified future love plan remained nowhere. I will love you more. So don¡¯t be disappointed with his words someday. It¡¯s not that he hates you. Just, we couldn¡¯t even be a little happy together. You¡¯re not annoying to him, I¡¯m annoying. Sorry. I¡¯ll do better. Instead, your dad has a really disgusting amount of money, and we¡¯ll probably be able to¡. Yesterday¡¯s memories of muttering at the child in her stomach like a snob, laughing and crying without fail. His fancy money was useless. Her child vanished in an instant. My child. This child was her own child. She clenched her teeth and opened her eyes. There is no such dream to say ¡°my child¡±. This child was only her child. He never wanted but she did. This child was her child, a child who¡¯d be her family, and the child who had disappeared in an instant. She felt like she was left alone in this world again. She had become a 17-year-old orphan again. Her eyes were hot as if it was on fire. There was no one beside her. She expected so. He didn¡¯t answer the phone earlier. Nothing bothers her husband as much as her phone call. As she was weeping, a nurse with a sad expression appeared and said something. She cried without hearing any of it. Before long the doctor came behind her. As for what the nurse had said, she didn¡¯t hear it for some time. Then she heard that the surgery was done well. Surgery. Yeah, surgery¡ It was a surgery she had personally signed the consent form for with trembling hands before she fainted again at the hospital. The child was said to be already dead by then. When she got to the hospital. Her amniotic fluid has burst and part of the fetus has already come out, so she had to get the rest out of it. The child died while coming out. To what extent did she understand the words then? The doctor spoke as if it were a very good thing. ¡°I¡¯ve removed all the remains from the uterus.¡± It sounded terrible like a nightmare to say that it had been removed. Fortunately, he said that her next pregnancy would be okay, when she could have sex, and when it would be desirable to prepare for pregnancy again. She wasn¡¯t just living to get pregnant. And no one would want that kind of thing. The child, who had been alive in me for half a year, left me after saying, ¡°It¡¯s over.¡± Woo Jin-ha, it¡¯s really over for that son of a bitch. You bastard. You¡¯re a son of a¡ She shouldn¡¯t have loved a dog like him for even a day¡ She poured out all her resentment against him. She sweared at him like this, but he may not actually be an asshole. It was because he actually did nothing wrong. Except that he didn¡¯t love her from the beginning till the end. Yes, from start to finish. All the problems were with her. She didn¡¯t know her problem, or maybe she knew it, but ignored it, and kept the proud Woo Jin-ha in her mind and floundered in the love as if it was the love of the great century. She dared to love a man who hadn¡¯t even looked at her for four years and resented the fact that he didn¡¯t love her like she loved him. Nevertheless, she still crawled under his feet, fearing that he would never look at her if she had shown even a grain of resentment. Woo Jin-ha smiled for ten days with the slightest attention. Ah. She was a really a stupid bitch. ¡°Do you have a guardian to pick you up?¡± There has never been such a thing, but at least a few months ago there was a good opportunity. As she had worked in his company for the past four years, hoping to have been recognized by Woo Jin-ha as a useful subordinate. Ultimately, she had a few opportunities to protect her dignity. What did she choose instead? She became an easy woman for one night. It would have been a very good memory if it could have stop there, but tactlessly she had a child from that night. As his mother lamented, she really was ¡®inconspicuously¡¯ pregnant. ¡®Just as long as your body stays healthy, even if you¡¯re foolish.¡¯ And so she asked, ¡®Do you think women get pregnant by themselves, mother?¡¯ She was about to respond, but when the whole world criticized her for ruining Woo Jin-ha¡¯s perfect life, she just thought it. Mother-in-law is not wrong. It was only her who was wrong, who was she, it was all her. (T/N: ¡°who was she¡± refers to her status) Chapter 2 Chapter 02 Mistake ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ She really hadn¡¯t noticed. How her heart had moved towards him. How her heart fluttered like a fool the moment as she entered the wedding hall. All day she had laughed thinking of the child¡¯s heartbeat., She had vowed with determination to become a good mother even if it was of no value to the outside world. Somebody like her wasn¡¯t worth anything. It was alright though. Their world wasn¡¯t of much value to her either. At least, other than Woo Jin-ha. Yet, she often recalled that day. That one day, where everything had started. Afterward¡ªsomehow, they had continued to have sex. It had been only that day where they hadn¡¯t used contraception. He was so drunk that day, to the extent that he wouldn¡¯t remember anything, while she¡ªdespite being drunk herself¡ªloved him so much, that she was too busy telling him¡ªlike a dumb child¡ªthat she would be happy with whatever he did to her, as long as it was him doing it. When the morning came, it was as if the world had turned upside down, and he talked about the need for a contraceptive prescription in front of her, as his eyes looked coldly at her. ¡®What have you done?¡¯ he had asked. And with that, there couldn¡¯t have been a more succinct efficient answer than that. ¡®You had sex with me and you didn¡¯t use contraception.¡¯ A deep feeling of frustration passed over his face. Like someone who had made a very big mistake. It was only a few weeks later that she found out the medicine she took that day had been completely ineffective. Woo Jin-ha proposed directly from the office with a face that looked like they had gotten married and asking for a divorce. She had no reason to refuse. Although it hadn¡¯t been intentional, she had always harbored a dream to stay by his side for a long time. The Woo family had turned upside down. She was immediately advised to resign. The reason was that his grandfather disapproved of his daughters-in-law¡¯s economic class. Her mother-in-law had quickly submitted her (MC¡¯s) resignation, pointing to her forehead, saying, ¡®How scandalous and disgraceful would it be if the family¡¯s daughter-in-law was a secretary who was in charge of miscellaneous affairs.¡¯ And soon after, she married him, while being treated like a guest at a party that no one had welcomed. However, no matter what she did, the stain remained. She turned her head and looked at the drawer next to the bed. There, a skirt stained with blood was placed. How would she get back with this¡¡ Realistic concerns started to awaken her blank mind. No matter how long she had tried to clean it, there was more than a tenth of the blood-stain left. When no move would come out, she had to open the curtains and prepared to leave the hospital with a miserable expression. However, at that moment, there seemed to be nowhere safer in the world except for this bed that was surrounded by curtains. The cold wrapped around her whole body. She trembled while hugging her other shoulder where a needle had pierced. If only nothing had happened that day¡. She had often had similar fleeting thoughts over this past six months. What was it all for? It was certainly good to love him. She had wanted to be with him somehow, hoping later she could admit it had been a mistake. She deserved her regret. She had caused something that had dirtied his life and reputation. But as the days passed, she held on to the belief that everything was going to be alright in the end. So there¡¯s nothing for her to be regretful about. But it was funny now that the child was gone, all she could feel was regret. She hated that day now. It¡¯s not an awareness that had just occurred to her, but maybe it¡¯s just something she hadn¡¯t acknowledged until now. She regretted that day as much as he did. You¡¯ve ruined my life¡¡ when the child was alive and breathing inside her body, those words she could not bear to say were threatening to be spat out before his wonderful face. She burst into laughter that was too loud. Who would believe that she was wearing a wedding ring that was several times more expensive than her company¡¯s salary until a few months ago and wearing clothes that were more expensive than her salary? Anyone could see that she was a lucky woman to fix her fate, and she was a vindictive woman who was relentless in the eyes of the mother-in-law and managed to get pregnant. It¡¯s not much different from the truth. Because of her long morning sickness, she got up feeling like a habit of vomiting. Blood was still on the skirt, but fortunately the fabric was dark and not very noticeable. She wiped it with as much tissue as she could and changed into it. When she opened the curtains, the light poured out. She suddenly calmed down as if she had lost her mind. She felt people glancing at her as she passed by, but she was so tired that she just didn¡¯t care. She walked to the window of the reception and finished her check-out formalities. It didn¡¯t take long because it was a small general hospital. She then thought she¡¯d sit on the bench in the aisle for a while, however she just stood next to it because she thought the blood on her skirt would get on the bench. When she picked up her cell phone, the details of the transfer of hospital bills to her account were still up. She didn¡¯t have a wallet, so she didn¡¯t know how to go back home. Her aunt was hospitalized in a car accident, and her helper was off today. Sujin was on duty now¡ She ended up choosing the closest person among the options. Chapter 3 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 03 You Won¡¯t Change Even If I Die ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¨C Hello. ¡°Ma¡¯am. Are you busy right now?¡± ¨C I¡¯ve been organizing things at home, but I¡¯m not busy. Why, ma¡¯am? Do you need anything? ¡°I¡¯m sorry about your day off, but I have a quick favor to ask you. I¡¯m in the hospital right now, and I don¡¯t have anything¡.¡± ¨C Hospital? Hospital? Oh, ma¡¯am, what¡¯s going on all of a sudden? What¡¯s the matter? Where the hell did an accident happen¡ ¡°¡I¡¯ll explain it to you when you come to the hospital. First, go to my house and my wallet¡ Yes, it¡¯s in the red bag that I often carry. And I need some clothes to change.¡± ¨C Even a change of clothes? You didn¡¯t get hurt a lot, did you? Right? ¡°I managed to call you in one piece, didn¡¯t I?¡± She did her best to smile as if the housekeeper was in front of her. It was not completely wrong, after all, besides ¡®The Child¡¯ had vanished, she herself was in fact still quite well. A loving voice on the phone sighed as if it were about to cry. ¨C I¡¯m just going to drive my father¡¯s car to madam¡¯s house right now. Where¡¯s the hospital? ¡°Ah¡¡¡± She thought she didn¡¯t even know where this was, so she looked for someone who was passing by, and in the end, walking back to the counter, she suddenly found the hospital¡¯s name on the medical bill in her hand, and she sighed. Stupid¡ ¡°Ma¡¯am, go here¡ .¡± ¨C Madam? ¡°¡¡.¡± ¨C Hello? Madam? Hello? ¡°It¡¯s okay now that I¡¯m here, Madam.¡± (MC¡¯s husband) ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Okay. Take a rest.¡± (Husband) Woo Jin-ha hung up the phone like he owned it, and hid the cell phone so she couldn¡¯t take it back. His breathing was slightly hard, but he was as calm and composed as if he had not been in a rush at all. She was looking at him quietly, and he didn¡¯t say anything more and just put her phone in his suit pocket. His eyes were on her face, shoulders, chest, waist¡ slowly, traveling down as he checked her condition. Then he saw her skirt that was ruined by blood. As always she was a mess, and Woo Jin-ha was perfectly wonderful. She looked down at her clothes for a moment and thought again. He¡¯s always the same as usual, but I¡¯m actually a bit worse than usual. It felt a little more miserable than she thought, similar to the pain of a broken tooth that wouldn¡¯t go away. She knew that little fault lied with him.. Most of the time he was flawless and could she really blame him for the loss of the child? Nevertheless, the reason she resented him, is that in the end, he must have hoped for this day. Even though this cold-blooded man hadn¡¯t bothered with saying that much. In the end it all went the way he wanted. How do you feel now? These thoughts felt so sharp as if there was a blade in her mouth instead of a tongue. He was standing with a speechless expression. Such a rare occasion. The attitude of minimal pretense and masked politeness. She wanted to laugh, but she didn¡¯t have any energy left. ¡°Why did you come?¡± ¡°The hospital called me saying they found my number in your phone call log.¡± ¡°Amazing that you managed to receive their call. So not answering must be a special treatment reserved only for my number.¡± Stunned, Woo Jin-ha shut his mouth for a moment to make sure if he really had heard the sarcastic comment that was so unlike her. He didn¡¯t look angry. ¡°I was in a meeting.¡± ¡°I know. I know your schedule.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I know what Jin-ha does every Thursday at 10 o¡¯clock.¡± As much as she knew about him, there were many things she had to be careful of. His mother had been afraid that she would interfere with his life, so she tried to be a person that didn¡¯t impose on him more than she could help. Her past career had been quite helpful. No one had explicitly asked her to do so. But she acted like a dog hungry for their owners¡¯ love. Shim Hee-joo was that dog. There was no one else to blame but herself. She opened her trembling mouth, as if she were about to laugh at herself. ¡°I know it all. Even during meetings, you answer urgent calls.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°At least to the best of my knowledge, I really tried my best not to bother you. I¡¯ve been living like that.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I¡¯ve never pestered you at work before. So I thought it would be different today. Since the person who doesn¡¯t call you, phoned you, shouldn¡¯t you have thought it was really urgent¡?¡± She¡¯d called him several times since the ominous labor pains began. Even after she had called 119 [Korean 911], she gasped as if she were going to suffocate by the crucifying painful sensation happening between her legs¡ She had laid there motionless, terrified, just before she lost consciousness at home¡ ¡°You won¡¯t change even if I die.¡± In that moment she was about to die, the moment she had been terrified to death, the moment her child ended up dying¡ Unlike her, who had been busy trying to help and get out of his way. He had every opportunity to help her and didn¡¯t. Before their child vanished from the world, he had a chance to pretend to care. He also had a chance to hold his wife¡¯s hand, before her miscarraige. I even gave you a chance to let you hear my voice on the phone. Even if you don¡¯t love me, at least treat me like a human. ¡°We will never have a normal, loving relationship like other people.¡± But he ignored her call as usual. There was nothing less important to Woo Jin-ha than her. Chapter 4 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 04 Shim Hee-joo ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ You don¡¯t what it was like for me when I sat alone like a woman who had no husband in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic, waiting for the baby to be born. You don¡¯t what it was like for me who was crying alone in front of the doctor when I first heard I was pregnant. You don¡¯t know how much I fell in love with the child or how I vowed to myself to love the child. You don¡¯t know how happy I was thinking while about how the child would look like you. You don¡¯t know how much I love you. You won¡¯t ever get to know that side of me. ¡°The child was a girl. ¡° ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°They had told me not too long ago. I didn¡¯t say anything because your mother, would only treat me like a human being if I gave birth to a son, and probably would¡¯ve left her. Jin-ha wouldn¡¯t have been interested. Even then I would have loved her.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°All day long, I had made all those baby clothes. I thought it would be tacky to make her wear pink even if it¡¯s a girl. I had wanted my daughter to look like her dad, so I didn¡¯t make anything pink since you never wear pink. I was so happy. I was delighted to let my husband know the good news when you came back. But after waiting you went into the study without even sparing me a glance.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I was happy, though. When she was alive.¡± ¡°Hee-joo. ¡° Her cold arms felt his warmth as he moved to touch her. Somehow, she smiled. She couldn¡¯t believe Woo Jin-ha is now comforting her. ¡°I was happy when you called me like that. When you call me that, it made me hope that our relationship would change and that we were not going to live like this forever.¡± ¡°Let¡¯s go to the car first.¡± ¡°But it¡¯s all for nothing. Jin-ha, nothing is going to change between us.¡± ¡°Let¡¯s go home and talk.¡± ¡°If we already know the answer, why would we bother to do such a stupid thing?¡± He did not immediately answer. After a brief pause, he broke his silence quietly, ¡°I understand you¡¯re angry with me now.¡± ¡°Jin-ha doesn¡¯t understand anything.¡± ¡°I understand, but let¡¯s hash it out later. You¡¯re sick now. The more you do this now, the harder it will be on you.¡± ¡°I¡¯m having a hard time now.¡± ¡°Hee-joo.¡± He should not have addressed her in such a familiar way. Every time she tried to run away, he stopped her in the same way. Everyone said that she was the one who had grabbed on to Woo Jin-ha¡¯s ankle, but it was Woo Jin-ha who seized her ankle. She had put her life on the line to grab his fine ankle, but all he had to do was call her name: Hee-Joo. If he said it that gently, she was completely overjoyed. The smile that she managed to take out was distorted. ¡°Jin-ha, your life was ruined by me. It has been hard for you.¡± ¡°My life has never been ruined because of you, so stop talking and let¡¯s go to the car.¡± ¡°I feel humiliated, right now. ¡° ¡°What?¡± ¡°I know you¡¯ve been embarrassed because of me. I know it has been annoying and frustrating. A woman you don¡¯t love, a marriage you¡¯ve never even planned for¡ªhaving to see a bitch you don¡¯t even like when you get back home. It must have felt like I was just waiting for you all day¡ But you know what? I felt humiliated, too.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I was so ashamed of myself. So I did whatever you told me to do. Jin-ha told me not to ask for anything, so I kept to myself, kept my composure, telling myself to never expect anything, and this was the fruit of my labor.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Just once, I needed you through my almost-death accident.¡± ¡°Shim Hee-joo.¡± ¡°Some of my child¡¯s remains stayed inside of me, so I had to sign the paper with my own hands when I was told that I had to remove the rest of the residue¡.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°So this is the price of living with the best man in the whole world. It is too high.¡± Hee-joo had resolved to herself not to cry in front of him even if she died, but when she recalled the doctor¡¯s words she wept until she was out of breath. She slapped away his hand that had awkwardly stretched out to her. Then he took off his coat and draped it around her. They began walking toward the parking lot. She couldn¡¯t stop crying. Even when he started the engine with her in the passenger seat. The strong air conditioner penetrated the car as soon as he started the engine, perhaps he had turned off the engine without turning off the air conditioner first. Woo Jin-ha turned it off, uncharacteristically a little embarrassed. It was the end of August. Hee-joo was shivering in his suit coat. ¡°¡ Stop crying.¡± ¡°You don¡¯t want to hear it, I¡¯m sorry.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t want to hear it because you¡¯re having a hard time.¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± ¡°Fuck, stop apologizing¡¡.¡± She had apologized sarcastically. After a while he still hadn¡¯t started the car instead they had just sat in the car and he just stared straight ahead. His expression twisted a little, before he donned his typical blank expression again. He suddenly asked while still staring out the front windshield. ¡°How did it happen?¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Did you fall?¡± ¡°No.¡± ¡°Did you bump into something?¡± ¡°No.¡± ¡°I see.¡± ¡°I started to have a bad pain all of a sudden. Then I started to bleed, and when I arrived at the hospital, my water broke. I had to rush into surgery. I asked them if they could save the baby, but they said the child was already dead.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Sometimes, things happen for no reason.¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± Her husband¡¯s expression was strange as he looked at her. It was an apology without any lies. But now it doesn¡¯t mean anything. ¡°You don¡¯t have it so rough. But I am an orphan. I have neither mother nor a father. You, Jin-ha, are my only family. Isn¡¯t it funny how we became a family? It is too much of a punishment after spending a night with a woman like me.¡± ¡°Stop making up your own conclusions and think rationally, Shim Hee-joo. Just like you used to do.¡± ¡°Since we first met exactly four years ago?¡± ¡°¡..four and a half years.¡± ¡°Okay, four and a half years. For four and a half years, I¡¯ve never been as rational as I am now.¡± He frowned silently. Perhaps he didn¡¯t agree. But surely after listening to her a little more, she was convinced that his expression would change to one of relief afterwards. ¡°Let¡¯s get divorced. The two of us.¡± The child has already disappeared, so now we¡¯re back to square one. No matter how pathetically I¡¯ve loved Woo Jin-ha, I am tired of being a fool. Chapter 5 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 05 Ornament ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ 1.Busan That year in February, on the last day of the International Economic Cooperation Forum, also the last day of their business trip in Busan, she was in the midst of an uncomfortable dinner. A dinner place where secretaries had been invited to eat outside nonchalantly. Thanks to the courtesy of Chairman Jang. Woosung C&T Chairman Jang looked ten years younger than his age, even though he was in his mid-sixties. Compliment often on his well-cared face and a fairly good appearance. He was a charming, powerful person who won people¡¯s favour with a smile without even needing to speak. Manager Lee and Hee-joo, had accompanied Chairman Jang at his kind but intimidating invitation, and were now sitting side by side with the other party in a traditional Korean restaurant. It was her first trip to Busan, thus she was invited to dinner as well. Chairman Jang was the one who recommended it and even included them in the reservation. But somehow the table and seats he had booked seemed to be so greatly calculatively close together and secluded that it made her and manager Lee infer his indecent intentions. Woo Jin-ha¡¯s unpleasant expression, when she sat next to him, only reinforced their hunch. He had already opposed Chairman Jang¡¯s move to invite them before they had arrived.. However, Chairman Jang dismissed Woo Jin-ha¡¯s opposition by saying that they (secretaries as in Lee and Hee-joo) were the ones he had relied on therefore he (Woo Jin-ha) had no right to refuse their attendance. In a place where even Woo Jin-ha didn¡¯t have any right to refuse him, how could Hee-joo and Lee¡¯s opinion matter? ¡°Right, drink lots, Secretary Shim.¡± ¡°Thank you, sir.¡± Having to drive Woo Jin-ha¡¯s car on their way back to the hotel, she purposely had a small amount of alcohol in her ceramic glass and pretended to hold it close to her mouth, for the sake of not offending Chairman Jang. However, while sitting next to her, Woo Jin-ha¡¯s eyes were filled with disapproval for an unguarded moment. It was late evening when the alcohol was finally finished. Woo Jin-ha was typically cold-hearted, but he was not a heartless boss nor was he a person who demeaned others or was openly arrogant. His standoffishness was not something that could be easily changed by a little-nobody executive secretary like her. He and I had been working together for 4 years. From the moment she first met Jin-ha, he always seemed a little obsessive about his work, and because of that, she was hardly aware if it was day or night when they were working. From take-out sushi to cafeteria sandwiches to hotel room service to fairly reputable restaurants, she couldn¡¯t even count the amount of times she ate face to face with her boss. This wasn¡¯t her first time in this restaurant either. So the fact that they were of different statuses and economic classes didn¡¯t make Hee-joo or Woo Jin-ha feel uncomfortable while they were together. But for some reason Woo Jin-ha seemed very uneasy. It was obviously because of her. Even when he had promptly and skillfully managed his facial expressions, Hee-joo could read his emotions. She was hyperaware of Woo Jin-ha¡¯s every signal. It was required of her profession. What mistake did I make¡¡. While Hee-joo sat there, mindlessly grinning at the conversation, the back of her mind was worried and at a loss of what she had done. She had always wanted to prove herself to him and complete tasks without any flaws. Hee-joo¡¯s long infatuation with her boss made her practically kneel at his feet without him needing to ask her to do anything. If my clingy, grovelling attitude is exposed, he would certainly look down on me. It would be an ugly flaw¡. She kept secretly glimpsing at Woo Jin-ha, pretending to listen to Chairman Jang¡¯s comments, while Woo Jin-ha listened only halfheartedly to chairman Jang¡¯s stories while eating neatly. Then, whenever their eyes met, a cold, guarded gaze met her¡¯s. Thus she got anxious. However, until this long meal was over, there was no way to find out what was her mistake and how to correct it. ¡°Well¡ I¡¯m¡ I feel a bit really sorry for Mr. Lee. He has been working for me for seven or eight years? As Vice President Woo knows well, it¡¯s hard for people like us to obtain a reliable person by our side. It¡¯s even harder to keep one for a long time.¡± ¡°That¡¯s correct.¡± ¡°If you think someone is trustworthy, you may get stabbed in your back. And what if they are too smart? It¡¯s more dangerous to be smart, especially if they don¡¯t know how to shut up. They have to be loyal, know how to keep secrets but not be greedy¡ªbecause people will try to bribe them to take you down¡ Don¡¯t you think so? The truth is, even if those dumbasses shut up, they¡¯re still useless in the first place, so it¡¯s not worth it.¡± (T/N: he is referring to MC and Lee together) Chairman Jang acted as if Lee and Hee-joo weren¡¯t even there. Similar to an ornament but, on the other hand, treating them as ¡°exceptions to the other lesser things.¡± He seemed to think he was really acknowledging them for having the privilege of listening to his thoughts as he looked down from the top. Perhaps Chairman Jang thinks that his evaluation right now is very impressive and significant to Mr. Lee. Hee-jo peeked at the manager Lee from the opposite side of the table casually and smiled knowingly when their eyes met. Lee had also smiled sheepishly as if he was a little embarrassed. Even though they had only met for the first time, they could have a simple conversation just by looking at each other¡¯s eyes. If they could actually have a conversation, maybe he would say, ¡®Oh. I¡¯m going to die.¡¯ Chapter 6 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 06 A Woman of His Kind ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Since I first saw him, I knew Mr. Lee is a really smart young man. Since it only takes a moment for a smart man to decide to do something wrong¡ But the more I observed him, the more I saw he was also loyal. He has a good academic background. Yes, he¡¯s always looking after me. That¡¯s why I¡¯m afraid that I hadn¡¯t been allowing the development of his great talent by just keeping him by my side¡¡± ¡°No way, sir. It is my honor to be by your side. By that, I am already successful.¡± ¡°Look at this sweet talker. I feel sorry for him. He even got divorced last year because of me. Because of work he couldn¡¯t go back home all day and all night.¡.¡± Lee¡¯s boss went so far as to include a rather useless and embarrassing story, to get to his main point. Hee-joo felt sorry for Manager Lee, forgetting that she too had been matching Woo Jin-ha¡¯s inhumane work pace for a while. (T/N: it means she forgot even she is kind of similar to Lee) As his personal history that no one asked for came forward, Lee quietly raised his glass as if he was thirsty, obviously embarrassed. Next to him, Chairman Jang was still lamenting over Lee¡¯s failed marriage, waging his tongue with a fantastic expression as if he truly thought he cared for his subordinates. It was an ironic and hypocritical scene.. She gave a smile of understanding this time when Lee put down the glass. Nevertheless, he was ashamed, avoiding her eyes and lowering his head. As she looked back at Chairman Jang, she suddenly felt as if he was looking at her and Woo Jin-ha, her boss next to her. But when she glanced at Woo Jin-ha courageously, he was still ignoring her. Thankfully, no eye contact. But a part of her was uneasy by his cold and indifferent attitude, wondering with anxiety what mistake she committed. ¡°A man who only knows work may succeed in society, but that¡¯s it. It¡¯s not a success in life.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Look at Mr. Lee, I made him get divorced at his age, because he couldn¡¯t spend a lot of time with his ex wife. I think he has worth when it comes to his work, and I treat him to the extent that I don¡¯t feel sorry, but in the case of Mr. Woo, you are in a different position. Every man needs a family, but especially someone like you¡.¡± At that moment, Chairman Jang¡¯s eyes turned to Hee-joo. He had a strange gaze that she couldn¡¯t read as he regarded her. ¡°¡You need to quickly find stability. It¡¯s not good to put your marriage on hold because maybe there will be no one to do big things and cross milestones with you in the future.¡± (T/N: he is saying no to put his marriage on hold) ¡°Thank you for your advice. ¡° ¡°This is what I said before: A house can only be successful if a talented woman is running it well. Mr. Woo, you should meet a woman who can understand you 100 percent. Meet a woman who can support you now. Meet a woman that¡¯s like you.¡± Unfortunately, Hee-joo had predicted the direction of the conversation when Lee¡¯s private life had been shamelessly used as fodder. A woman who could understand and support Woo Jin-ha. A woman that¡¯s like him. His kind ¡°You have to meet a woman who can support all your goals.¡± When Chairman Jang spoke of understanding and support he was not talking about emotional or mental support. It was code amongst the wealthy. Understanding and support was the kind that could be useful to gain profits, status and power. Chairman Jang was not making idle marriage talk that well-meaning elders took part in urging adults to find love. The understanding and support would not just come from any randomly unknown woman with whom Woo Jin-ha would marry in the future. It was a marriage deal that Chairman Jang was proposing with his family to Woo Jin-ha. To give something, one has to receive something as well. Hee-joo tried hard not to look at Woo Jin-ha. When he had not responded immediately, she tried not to imagine what expression he was making as he was mulling over the suggestion. It would only hurt me anyway, moreover it has nothing to do with me. Woo Jin-ha¡¯s marriage. A woman under Woo Jin (T/N: in bed she means, not literal under him). She had been constantly trying to pretend that she had no interest in such a topic for the past few years. The shape of my heart is already miserable, I can¡¯t show it to him. I don¡¯t want him to look down on me any more than he already does. ¡°There is no other time as important as now. It is well known that Chairman Woo has a lot of other legitimate grandchildren, thus for Vice President Woo, choosing not to marry could be a disaster for you.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°You are a person who is more than capable, and you know it. Those people, who can only depend on their family name and connections(affiliates)¡.I¡¯m sure you want to shout at them out of frustration. You¡¯re not like them. Even if you were born without Woo¡¯s last name, you are smart and you would¡¯ve still done something remarkable by now.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Well¡ªno, you were born with Woo¡¯s last name, and was exiled¡ But because you are like your grandfather, you have a natural talent for business, so wherever you have a setback you have the ability to climb right back up like you did in the past¡.¡± Even if Hee-joo crawled up all her life, she wouldn¡¯t even reach Woo Jin-ha¡¯s feet. But it was amazing that someone in the world could make Woo Jin-ha look unfortunate. She stared at him unconsciously. He was just looking at Chairman Jang with a straight face. Chapter 7 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 07 No Better Affection Than Money ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Are you interested in entertainment? You could make some pocket money from the movie distribution business, run a theater and a coin business. My guess is that coming out of the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH) isn¡¯t all you want to do.¡± ¡°It¡¯s my duty, so I do my best. I¡¯ve succeeded and gotten where I am thanks to my family, so I have no room to complain.¡± He wasn¡¯t one to complain, but he was one that would never be satisfied. Because he aimed for the sky, Woo Jin-ha needed a capable woman. A woman with an excellent background to match his status. A woman who is as good as he was. The woman she could never be¡ He was not the man that settled for simply pigging out on his grandfather¡¯s enormous fortune. Her boss didn¡¯t even spare her a glance anyway. So it was strange that she felt forlorn. She wasn¡¯t suitable for him. Hee-joo silently chewed her food, attempting to swallow her feelings down with it. ¡°There¡¯s no need for you to save face and not be frank with me. I know what it feels like to be surrounded by stupid, greedy bastards. If you held all the power you needed in one hand, there¡¯s no telling how far the company would go¡.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Those stupid entitled guys are also undermining management because they are from the same blood. Idiots don¡¯t even know what they are selling¡ª they can¡¯t even understand their own Wi-Fi, but they want to eat ICT (Information and Communications Technology) first. Under those various names, R&D expenses will continue to flow to places you don¡¯t even know¡ As a result they will fall behind, disperse, and finally crush down like dominoes. ¡° ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°When your father skipped Taiwan, the WK company was already bound to be divided into factions. Now the question is who will get to be the first to take the holding control of the company. Unfortunately for your father, Chairman Woo was too late, and you¡¯re still being tested. But, what if Chairman Woo suddenly decides his successor tomorrow?¡± (T/N: ¡°does it Tomorrow¡± means to decide the successor suddenly, woo-jinha would definitely won¡¯t be selected because he is being under ¡°test¡±) ¡°I don¡¯t want to imagine it,¡± Woo Jinha answered lightly, merely listening. Chairman Jang burst into laughter. ¡°You¡¯re right. You¡¯re going to be fucked.¡± Chairman Jang¡¯s heavy voice made even vulgar words sound quite plausible. It was a ruthless comment. Woo Jin-ha suddenly smiled. ¡°If it¡¯s fucking going to happen, we don¡¯t even start it from the beginning. You still had to reprimand our chairman.¡± ¡°There¡¯s nothing more dangerous than believing you have a lot of time.¡± ¡°And the filial piety doesn¡¯t do that well, Sir?¡± ¡°What kind of affection do you have with your grandfather?¡± ¡°There is no better affection than money.¡± ¡°Huh.¡± ¡°My grandfather has already given us a lot. The rest is up to me, the smart one.¡± ¡°Take care¡¡± ¡°So I won¡¯t need the virtue of my wife.¡± That meant that Chairman Jang didn¡¯t even need to offer a deal with his daughter acting as a bridge. Even though she was sitting still as if she heard nothing, Hee-joo sighed with relief under her breath at Woo Jinha¡¯s firm refusal. It was ridiculous and nonsensical, but she felt a little better. As if Woo Jin-ha¡¯s rejection were not for Chairman Jang¡¯s daughter, but for women from all over the world. However, it was her occupational disease to look after her superiors. She was worried about Chairman Jang¡¯s reaction, so she couldn¡¯t rejoice, but he didn¡¯t seem to be too upset, unexpectedly. ¡°How disappointing. I thought Woo would think about it more practically.¡± ¡°You know why I asked to see you.¡± ¡°So¡ let¡¯s just talk about the land?¡± ¡°Please review the site of the new port.¡± ¡°That¡¯s deal is already over. Your uncle is tired of it.¡± ¡°The bidding is not over yet. The decision can still be made.¡± ¡°Why would I give up that good thing?¡± ¡°Aren¡¯t you thinking of investing in me anyway?¡± ¡°That would be the story if you were my son-in-law.¡± ¡°So the land that is worth less than 50 billion won of investments has more worth compared to your precious daughter¡¯s marriage.¡± ¡°A problem?¡± Chairman Jang asked in an amused voice and continued, ¡°With all those ticket sales and affiliates, Is there another large amount of land that is less than 50 billion?¡± ¡°You can cooperate with someone like me without wasting your daughter¡¯s life. You won¡¯t regret it.¡± ¡°You won¡¯t get permission from the Bureau of Economy if you grab it.¡± ¡°It¡¯s the same for us. You know it¡¯s overrated from the beginning. You¡¯re going to save 50 billion.¡± ¡°You¡ Is it because Yoonseo [Jung¡¯s daughter] met CEO Woo Jin-oh [Jihin¡¯s cousin] for a while? Because it¡¯s uncomfortable?¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t even know the two had a relationship.¡± ¡°What about relationships. She was just meeting¡It¡¯s not because Jang Yoon-seo is my daughter, but my wife raised her really well. Her face is also pretty because she resembles her mother, she¡¯s clean, doesn¡¯t touch other kids and went to a good school, and she is a talented painter but also she has my financial sense.¡± (T/N: ¡°.. No touches like other kids¡± means she doesn¡¯t has bad habits like the other kids like drugs/sex/smoking etc, the word ¡®touches¡¯ leans more on bad habits related to sexual activity) It was a little ridiculous to use the simple expression of money laundering. When he snickered, Chairman Jang seriously raised his eyebrows. ¡°Think again.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll give you a second chance to think about it, just in case every time I bid for the site in 10 years, you¡¯ll remember my face.¡± ¡°You mean you¡¯re going to chase and harass me? You¡¯re going to insist¡¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry. ¡° ¡°Forget it. Just drink today.¡± ¡°Let me pour you a drink.¡± Woo Jin-ha was about to rise politely, reaching out to the bottle. Chairman Jang¡¯s eyes suddenly turned to Hee-joo. The eyes, which were invariably gentle, narrowed strangely. It resembled his strange gaze that she did not know its meaning. ¡°Why do I have to take the liquor that you pour, and just neglect the pretty secretary Shim?¡± [a woman pouring alcohol for men not close to her in Korean society is adjacent to flirting and/or sex work] The unpleasant premonition she got from before when she entered the room had not been wrong. The attention suddenly went to her, and she stiffened, her chopsticks were neatly held. In fact, it was the Chairman¡¯s eyes that froze her rather than the insulting demands he made of her. Now his crooked glare that openly despised Hee-joo was now blatantly sexually harassing her. ¡°By the way, why have you been ignoring that pretty face? Huh? I would have rather had Ms. Shim instead of having Mr. Lee by my side.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Vice President Woo, if you offer hospitality sincerely, it¡¯s polite to have such a pretty woman serve without sitting still¡ This is rude to the woman. If she has talent, you should take advantage of it.¡± Chapter 8 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 08 The World is Scary ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ His demand for Hee-joo to pour alcohol was a common humiliation endured by secretaries when serving bosses or executives, and it was not the first time she heard such a request. But she had been lucky. The first executive she assisted was the one who thought of her as a daughter, but now her boss was a man who would have noticed the Chairman¡¯s dirty gaze. Even if she had a hard time because of his gawking, how could she refuse? But now it was a completely different story. ¡°It has a purpose at least. Isn¡¯t it easier to carry it? Local, overseas¡ When I was young, I was like you. Carrying around a pretty female secretary, I would go abroad, change it when I got tired of it, and my innocent wife couldn¡¯t even doubt us¡ I never had a lover as convenient as a secretary.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°There are times when you do that. You can¡¯t always do it because you¡¯re tired of it.¡± Chairman Jang was not just an executive, but the owner of Woosung. Even though Woo Jinha purposly asked Woosung to give up his bid¡ she could imagine what kind of face he was making right now without looking at him. Chairman Jang is still smiling, but the atmosphere was icy. . This is why Woo Jinha opposed their secretaries joining them for dinner. Hee-joo realized why he seemed so displeased when she sat down earlier. It wasn¡¯t her that Jin-ha Woo wasn¡¯t satisfied with her, but he had predicted this predicament. He knew all along what Chairman Jang would want her to do. The reason why Hee-joo never met Chairman Jang despite his several meetings with Chairman Jang was because he had intentionally excluded her from the schedule. Today¡¯s dinner wouldn¡¯t have happened today if they all hadn¡¯t attended the forum together. ¡°Well, Secretary Shim, come over here and sit down. Mr. Lee, get up.¡± The Chairman wasn¡¯t even being a disgraceful drunk. His glare instead was lucid and pointed at Hee-joo, treating her like a hostess out of spite and hatred. Hee-joo froze at his orders. Chairman Jang looked at her and seemed to test Woo Jin-ha¡¯s reaction. The fierce air was tense, as if it was about to explode. She guessed her boss¡¯s face through Lee¡¯s terrified expression. But to Hee-joo, the scariest thing for her right now was to destroy all her efforts to maintain a certain image for Woo Jinha up to now, rather than being subjected to Chairman Jang¡¯s disgusting drinking habits. Ah¡ I mean, I should do what Chairman Jang told me to do for him, but I am afraid it would ruin his regard for me and my trusted, reliable position The way her head was spinning was awful. The recipient of her ludacris love had no idea about her dilemma. Why was she like this? It¡¯s not something she has to do¡¡. She sat on the sidelines. She was just a subordinate who was driven to a cliff. She had no right to worry about her dignity unless she wanted to be out of a job overnight. Would it have been easier if Woo Jinha had pushed her forward and said, ¡®Do it for the company¡¯? However, Woo Jin-ha would never have earned her love if he had been a cowardly jerk. Since Woo Jin-ha would not ask her to do it, Hee-joo was ready to endure that insult. Would not be too late to remain steadfast, overcome, and shed tears of chagrin after returning home. It was unfair, but that¡¯s how the world worked. Unable to endure the unpleasant silence, she saw the manager Lee quickly get a bottle of alcohol and pass it to her. She got up to get it. ¡°The world is scary these days, Mr. Jang.¡± ¡°What?¡± Jinha suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her down. It was a soft but relentless force. The liquor bottle she missed rolled over the table with a bang and fell under the table. All the alcohol had spilled. ¡°If you don¡¯t know how the world has changed and you¡¯re making excuses like this, it¡¯s too hard for me to watch.¡± ¡°What the hell are you talking about¡.¡± ¡°You may not know because you¡¯re an old man. I understand. So I¡¯m holding it in, but the Chairman keeps saying nonsense.¡.¡± Jinha¡¯s voice was always courteous, which made Hee-joo suspicious of her ears. She stared back at him carefully because she thought he must have been drunk. He looked perfectly fine, betraying her expectations. ¡°I¡¯m going to put a stop to this ridiculous behavior. You¡¯re going to get sued.¡± ¡°Who is going to sue?¡± ¡°The victim.¡± ¡°Secretary Shim? What do you mean? You made up this shit before I even had a drink.¡± ¡°I can always work with my company¡¯s legal team to protect our staff by going straight to our law firm and buy a few lawyers specializing in sex crimes. There¡¯s nothing I can¡¯t do.¡± Her heart pounded. Really, I didn¡¯t expect you to do this to Chairman Jang.¡. Crazy. This was absolutely nuts. It wasn¡¯t worth it. Thank you, I guess¡? but she didn¡¯t appreciate it. She tried to twist her arm out of his grasp, but it didn¡¯t work because he¡¯d tightened his grip. She tried to deter him even with her other free hand, but he was still so composed and imposing as if there was nothing that would stop him. ¡°What kind of sex crime did I commit?¡ That¡¯s enough. I see you are crazy about women.¡± ¡°It¡¯s Chairman Jang who is crazy and can¡¯t discern what¡¯s becoming at a time and location. You should be grateful that I stopped at a minor sex crime level.¡± ¡°I¡¯m embarrassed that you¡¯re doing this. I didn¡¯t ask you to put the secretary in my hotel room.¡.¡± ¡°Bullshit, Chairman Jang. I¡¯m sorry that you are clueless. What are you going to do when the nine o¡¯clock news starts with the Woosung Group Chairman Jang Myung-joon asking WK for sexual favors from a female employee?¡± ¡°It is a statement without any proof. Don¡¯t you know about fabricating accusations?¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry, but everything is recorded.¡± ¡°¡¡What?¡± Chapter 9 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 09 Apologize ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°How could I strike you without recording it? It¡¯s all about editing.¡± ¡°Vice president Woo.¡± ¡°And it¡¯s not an accusation, it would be a report in the public¡¯s interest. I¡¯m just trying to protect my staff. I¡¯m the witness, so you can hold it to me, not to my staff.¡± ¡°¡ Are you really trying to end things with me?¡± ¡°With your weakness in my hand. How could you, the chairman, end it? I could play it whenever I want.¡± Even though he seemed a little calm, he looked a bit unhinged. Was he already drunk? Hee-joo had never seen him talk this much. She could have sworn that she was more stressed then Chairman Chang, wondering whether he was drunk or angry or both. Hee-joo was just an insignificant employee, so right now she felt fearful as if she were the one being threatened instead of feeling frustrated or humiliated. ¡°You think I am scared? Don¡¯t be foolish, Woo. You¡¯re still young, and you want to bluff in front of your lover. I understand, but surely you wouldn¡¯t want to lose money just for a woman you¡¯ve only played with.¡± ¡°Even a vile person has the gall to live a righteous life. But how long has it been since you last donated a certain 17 billion yuan¡ It¡¯s a very outstanding amount. I know for a fact the money was a bribe. Thus, certainly now isn¡¯t really a good time to lose one¡¯s face because of the sex scandal. ¡° ¡°¡You crazy bastard.¡± ¡°Oh, of course we¡¯re not happy about this humiliation.¡± Chairman Jang gritted his teeth in fury. ¡°What do you want? The Seventh District?¡± ¡°You just need to get it back to the review phase, I¡¯ll give you a chance to think about it, so deliberate over it carefully again.¡± ¡°That¡¯s it?¡± ¡°That was just the end of our discussion, not our demands.¡± ¡°Hey, don¡¯t talk in a round¡ª¡± ¡°Apologize to Secretary Shim.¡± ¡°What?¡± Chairman Jang asked in disbelief. Hee-joo doubted her ears even more. It was a clear demand to offer an apology towards a single mere employee. Moreover, to a young woman who worked as a secretary with no background, it would certainly be tens of times harder to accept than to concede a bid for a new port site that was all over the city. Chairman Jang looked as if he had been beaten. On the other hand, Woo Jin-ha looked dignified and composed. ¡°It was outrageous to try and humiliate Ms. Shim just to spite me, so if you¡¯ll apologize to her by offering a reward quietly, she can judge what to do at her own discretion. Isn¡¯t that proper?¡± So even if he apologized, it still would not be the end, because Hee-joo and Jinha would judge him on their own terms. It was the same as if you were admitting that you had intended to do it from the very beginning. She stared at the table, not knowing if his ¡°Isn¡¯t that proper?¡± was directed at her, when he squeezed his hand on her wrist, she then nodded Chairman Jang snorted, ¡°What an insane bastard.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t think you need to check how crazy I am, since this could become a big scandal for you.¡± ¡°You want to blackmail me to consider a new port phase again as well as be a good partner without agreeing to the marriage deal?¡± ¡°At least it doesn¡¯t need to interfere with collaborating in the future, as you know¡ª¡± ¡°Cheeky bastard.¡± ¡°You said it as if you were really trying to negotiate with someone else, but you actually offered me your hand because you¡¯d already know where I¡¯ll be going. Even if you can¡¯t move, you would put you investments in people you can use instead, and send their grandchildren to take over WK.¡± ¡°You think this method will work? That¡¯s naive, absurd.¡± ¡°I know you¡¯ll be susceptible to scandals, especially for the image of a healthy company. If Shim sues, it probably won¡¯t be much of an impact. But if the report goes public after this recording is released, then the damage will probably not end at 17 billion like you shelled out the other day.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°You can¡¯t stop a WK employee from protecting one of their staff.¡± ¡°If your father finds out about this¡ª¡± ¡°What are you going to do? How are you going to explain your sexual harassment?¡± ¡°Crazy. You¡¯re out of your mind. You lunatic, I¡¯m your father¡¯s friend. How dare you talk to me like this! How can you openly threaten me like this? Are you out of your mind?¡± ¡°Say whatever you want.. Besides, I haven¡¯t said anything about threatening you. So, I was threatening you to do what exactly¡ Asking you to apologize?¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Would you die if you apologize to a woman?¡± Woo Jin-ha¡¯s question was a little astonishing. So she was kind of expecting Chairman Jang would also feel as dismayed as she did, but to her surprise, Chairman Jang instead apologized to her very politely, as if he had become someone else in the span of five minutes. And just like that the sinister offensive and defensive war has ended, and the intense atmosphere has regained its peace. Everyone was so cheerful and relaxed like nothing had happened. Hee-joo was captivated by rapid change. Did the wealthy behave like this? The speed of such a drastic change in attitude and the flow of incidents was very different from that of ordinary people. Although she felt very unfortunate for a moment, what happened just now still left an unpleasant feeling in her heart, she still felt very uneasy. Chapter 10 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 10 Same Taste ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ She passed her bill to Mr. Lee, and went to Woo Jin-ha, who was waiting for a valet at the entrance. Turns out his car was already out. After calculating the parking Fee and turning around, she saw Woo Jin-ha leaned against the wall with his hand on his forehead. She had thought he was already inside the car, but he wasn¡¯t. However, he looked like he was in a bad condition thus she hurriedly walked over. ¡°Are you all right, Mr. Vice President?¡± ¡°It¡¯s okay.¡± Even though his answer was ¡®it¡¯s okay¡¯, he staggered as he opened the door. She tried to help him quickly, but he pushed me when she tried to reach him. She was a little wary, but she still watched while getting anxious. And again he staggered. In the end she could only hold the car door open, helping him, but this time he leaned back against me, not refusing anymore. He smelled like winter wind. She held her breath awkwardly. Woo Jin-ha casually climbed into the car accidently rubbing my shoulders. ¡°Are you drunk?¡± ¡°No.¡± As soon as she got in the car she asked him, and he replied almost instantly. His answer was still fine. Nevertheless, she wasn¡¯t convinced. He for sure is drunk. It was only 15 minutes ago the argument with President Chang happened and it was less than five minutes when she saw him still normally sitting upright, standing up and walking out with President Chang. Then how did he manage to superbly act sober? Did he really drink a lot? I don¡¯t think so¡ She thought about it again. It¡¯s more like I was the one who drank quite a bit of alcohol before suddenly the atmosphere changed like that. Nonetheless still, he was usually a man who exercised restraint. ¡°¡ I was thinking that you were drinking too.¡± ¡°Yes.¡± ¡°But today¡ Didn¡¯t you drink a lot as well?¡± ¡°Not that much, just a little¡± There was a violent laugh. When she looked at his side, Woo Jin-ha said as if to answer. ¡°It was unfortunate¡± For a moment, she couldn¡¯t find the answer. But It¡¯s definitely flusteredness. He felt a little embarrassed towards me. But why¡¯s the shame in front of me for¡ What for? Because he¡¯s drunk. But of course¡ People get drunk as soon as they drink¡ Anybody will think nothing about it. Looking at the front face, she felt tired, so she shut up and drove. ¡°I drink good wine.¡± I looked over at his sudden words. He was looking out the window, out of the driveway. I tilted my head slightly. ¡°I noticed.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know.¡± ¡°¡ It¡¯s the same drink anyway. So.¡± ¡°It¡¯s different.¡± She heard it without a thread, and she was almost laughing without knowing it. ¡°The brew itself is fine, but strangely weak for that kind.¡± ¡°Is that what it was?¡± ¡°It¡¯s a kind of traditional wine. Like Chinese liquor, sake¡ª¡± ¡°I don¡¯t remember much of it when I saw you drinking it.¡± She had a similar feeling for all her drinks. To me, it all tasted the same. She didn¡¯t understand, but she thought Jin-ha meant to say that he would get drunk much faster with that liquor, so she just nodded. Then when he caught her response, she glanced at him. Woo Jin-ha was watching her with his eyes that were winding down tiredly. She turned her head and regretted it, as if she had been caught sneaking around and looking so duped. The car started again in an awkward silence. Then she thought she stepped on acceleration too quickly, and that made her embarrassed. It¡¯s full of embarrassments. ¡°Ms. Hee-joo, are you sure you¡¯re okay to drive?¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°I thought you weren¡¯t drinking a lot.¡± Does my driving feel like a drunken man driving? She shook her head in a hurry. ¡°I didn¡¯t drink a lot, sir. It was only a little that got in my mouth. Not the alcohol, just the glass¡. Are you nervous?¡± ¡°It was after all a very strong drink, so I was wondering if it was the case.¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry if you¡¯re uncomfortable with my driving, I¡¯ll be more careful.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry about driving, you¡¯re as good as usual. But your drinking ability has not always been good, Ms. Hee-joo. You¡¯re frightened as well.¡± ¡°I could hold it a little better now¡¡.¡± ¡°But I¡¯m sure you were surprised, insulted, and over-pressured too.¡± She was just going to say that it was because her attention seemed to be disturbed, but Woo Jin-ha immediately brought up a story close to the main point. ¡°No.¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°For today.¡± ¡°It¡¯s not something you need to apologize for.¡± ¡°If it wasn¡¯t for me, Ms. Hee-joo wouldn¡¯t be dragged to anything.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°It was my carelessness. I apologize.¡± He simply preached about the need to apologize to me, but the weight was not simple. She could not refuse anyway, and there was nothing to oppose. Chairman Jang was originally such a person, so the person who was actually to be blamed for, was not in this car. Nevertheless, she felt an unknown guilt, as if he were strangely sorry for her. Even if there was guilt, she could never blame him for dying. So, this sense of guilt may just be the bits of remorse hidden, or it may be her mind that become stupid whenever she saw him. Still even though she wasn¡¯t the one to blame if she ended up dead, the public¡¯s opinion however would¡¯ve thought of her as a nuisance as if she had done it on purpose. She wanted to laugh when he laughed, she was worried that if she would die he might frown, and she could not bear it if he looked tired. She dedicated herself to him with a dedication as she would have treated our own nation, South Korea. ¡°Are you all right?¡± ¡°Yes, don¡¯t worry.¡± Actually she wasn¡¯t, she always felt a little sick everytime she was thinking about it, a distinctly different feeling from when she had no knowledge about it before. The important negotiations with the big company had gone wrong because of her. This did not help with any delighted feelings she had just felt from his protection. She would never dare to face her own emotions. I don¡¯t want to admit that foolish euphoria¡. Woo Jin-ha had fought to protect me, ignoring the great benefits for his future status. To dared refusing Chairman Jang¡¯s offer meant it would certainly be more difficult, specifically for his own self. Shim Hee-Joo was convincing herself like that in order to avoid her fleeting expectations, thus her cold self raised her head. However he could always have thrown her out, as if she wasn¡¯t important at all. He could have told her to do it for the company, or he could easily tell her what was so wrong with accepting it, because most of the rich people were usually always selfish if one didn¡¯t just obediently follow. Chapter 11 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 11 Guilty ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ It¡¯s a reality that¡¯s different from normal people. So no matter what he did to do so much for him, it was not realistically natural. His response to Chairman Jang was similarly to the power that could make her even more miserable than Jang, whether because he was her boss or because of her unrequited love. It just happened, instead of being controlled, he was able to come up with another idea that would not have forced her. Would you do this to any woman other than me as well? Perhaps because of that temprament, she became fond of such a man in the first place, a man who was cold but morally strict, who seemed not to care much about others, but who was willing to thoroughly protect his own people. And she was his people, but she had instead given her unrequited love for him. He was a very respectable boss, and that had given me pride in her feelings for him. It was even more so because of what happened today. But the premise of ¡®no woman other than me¡¯ inflates her pride for him endlessly, but it also cuts her self-esteem like a double-edged sword. The truth is she was no different from anyone else in the end. She recounted those facts over and over again, wondering if there was any more potent way to kill this love. There¡¯s nothing to be mistaken about. Shim Hee-joo. You¡¯re not special at all¡.. No matter how much she reminded herself, in the end she¡¯s just trying to embroider his anger or discomfort earlier. Thus, she opened my mouth to distract myself. ¡°I really think I could get some settlement from Chairman Jang.¡± She felt him who had been looking out the window, turning his head toward her. ¡°Take it, as much as you can.¡± ¡°I am still dwelling it on.¡± ¡°I can¡¯t force you anyway, and if you don¡¯t have any sense of self-confidence, you¡¯ll only be buried in silence, and I¡¯m not even going to have a scratch on that Chairman Jang.¡± She recalled that situation when she had been evaluating it while being afraid of Chairman Jang at the same time. So she nodded without any thought, because she did think so as well. ¡°Then take as much as you can. I don¡¯t think it¡¯s a big deal for him to get several million deals, but it¡¯s pretty hard for someone like President Jang who doesn¡¯t want to spend a million won. I wouldn¡¯t touch it but couldn¡¯t write it in vain as well.¡± ¡°¡a million?¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry,¡± he replied at, my alarmed voice. ¡°Do you write it down?¡± ¡°There are too many.¡± ¡°It is closest to the minimum. Less than that, it isn¡¯t good.¡± ¡°You said you couldn¡¯t sue anyway, so how would you¡ª¡± ¡°If you want to, I¡¯ll do it. I can help you.¡± He was drunk, wise and self-indulgent but he just seems to become someone else completely. ¡°I recklessly did whatever I wanted to do, and I¡¯m sorry.¡± The apology was also ambiguous. ¡°I thought it was natural for my boss. ¡®She¡¯s so nice, she¡¯s not going to be able to speak to her defense, she¡¯s not going to make a complaint or a claim¡¯. I really did think it would¡¯ve happened too. Not very pleasant, but I¡ I was grateful for it. I might not sound very grateful¡. But I was so grateful, since you didn¡¯t have any obligations to do that for me.¡± He and the company had to pay too much. It was already uncomfortable as it was. It was all due to the other party. If Chairman Jang was just a common middle-aged corporate executive, he would have been indifferent about it now, but unfortunately it was not the case at all. A small nobody like her would have been pleased and satisfied just by serving Chairman Jang. Even if she didn¡¯t want to until the very end. He laughed while saying excuse me. ¡°That¡¯s what I thought.¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°You didn¡¯t actually have to do that.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I was just being a little fucking airheaded.¡± ¡°No.¡± ¡°I saw you alarmed, but I didn¡¯t realize the reason.¡± Woo Jin-ha¡¯s voice was mocking with laughter. She shook her head seriously. ¡°It was all true and proven if that¡¯s what you were worried about.¡± ¡°Did you ¡?¡± The truth is that it was really all that had happened. When a personnel team involved in a sexual harassment case in the company, it had happened just right after his placement to take up the vice president position. He had quickly finished his training periods then got himself promoted to vice president after the training period was done. ¡°I mean, I¡¯m a little sorry for you, and I¡¯m just saying that I should be a little more¡ª¡± What could I do? There was nothing as stupid as saying, ¡®I should have done well.¡¯ I was really feeling guilty. She was a disastrous person standing in the gap between the rich and had to blame herself more that she damaged the deal. In the end, this frustrated feeling only proves how different he and I are. ¡®Isn¡¯t it because I was usable anyway? He¡¯ll go abroad with a pretty secretary, and he¡¯ll change it if he¡¯s tired. No one was as convenient as the secretary.¡¯ A handy woman. Usable. Toys that could be changed when one got tired of. She has never been used like that, and Woo Jin-ha has never forced or used me in that way. Nevertheless, her poor origin felt glaringly displayed in front of Woo Jin-ha. She¡¯d shown him that drinking for her was just drinking, that it won¡¯t matter what is the taste or the brew and she could only treat the liquor like that. So she could not be happy that he stood up for her, because the damage he had to suffer for protecting her was worse. If Woo Jin-ha was really a boss to her, how happy and strong his protection would have been as a subordinate. She was just destroying her pride because of her love for him, and she was eventually breaking apart. ¡°More, then what?¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I can¡¯t buy fantastic status, and I couldn¡¯t refuse when Jang invites.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°What should Shim Hee-ju have done there?¡± She tried to make a little bit of a joke, but she was pushed back. ¡°If you get it that way, then it¡¯s not my plan from the start.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°So if Ms. Hee-joo apologizes now, I¡¯ll be rather offended, okay?¡± ¡°Yes, sir.¡± ¡°Good answer.¡± It was a strict-tight voice, but then again it has a light tone, murmured in a soft voice, and it was really new to her who had seen the drunken Woo Jin-ha in these four years every day. She¡¯d never told him this before, and she¡¯d like to see what he looks like if she was not driving. I¡¯ve been miserable for a few minutes, and I¡¯m crying. I don¡¯t have guts. ¡°But Ms. Hee-joo is right¡.¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t really have to do that.¡± Do you ever have any habit of saying something you didn¡¯t mean to say when you were drunk? And after you regret it? No wonder he did something to vent it. He glanced at the right side mirror, and he kept his chin leaned on the side, as if he were thinking. ¡°So, if it wasn¡¯t for Shim Hee-joo¡.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°¡..Well, I¡¯m sure he did it on purpose, and I don¡¯t want to see those dirty stuff.¡± At first she didn¡¯t understand what he was saying. ¡°But you¡¯ve found the right words, and if you try, there¡¯s a way that won¡¯t make you be ashamed towards him.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know why I did it like a madman¡.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Do you know why Ms. Shim Hee-joo?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know at all.¡± Her heart thumped from below, as if it were on my foot, and she didn¡¯t know, because she didn¡¯t really want to think of anything. ¡°Why do you think I¡¯d know?¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°You really don¡¯t know?¡± ¡°Yes.¡± She was expecting her place here. She had long ago abandoned any expectations. He smiled a little silently, then pointed to the green light. She started the car late. The drunken Woo Jin-ha was very dangerous. He played with her without even knowing what he was talking about. He was angry, excited, sad, good, pathetic all at the same time. Why would he say that to me? Maybe I¡¯m a little special? Thinking about these old ideas made her flutter. ¡°So what about the charges?¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°It won¡¯t do much, but I think I might have wanted to go ahead and try.¡± ¡°It¡¯s okay, I just feel embarrassed, but I don¡¯t want to put any more pressure on the company. And like that, this was it.¡± She tried to put herself in, but the voice that seemed to know her well poured oil on her grubby sentiment. She never felt so close to Woo Jin-ha, this is too good to the point she wanted to run away. She felt the car¡¯s steering wheel nervously with her ten fingers, as if she was more drunk than he was, and she managed her vision as if she was afraid of the illusion if she turned to face him. Chapter 12 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 12 No Way ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ He was looking half way, as relaxed as a car owner, whether she was or not. For convenience, she had booked a room in a luxury hotel close to Camellia Island where the forum was held, but it was a long way to go from the restaurant. She wished this road was over, but she also wanted it to be longer for at least another hour but still nothing would change. Nothing would ever happen. ¡°¡if I had told you I was suing Mr. Chang, did you really want to release the recordings?¡± She didn¡¯t know from where did the courage come from but she wanted to know, and because she wanted to busy herself asking questions. However, she instantly regretted that she said something wrong. ¡°No.¡± He answered it simply; Yes, this was it. It¡¯d be strange if he really does it. She bit her lip and felt her heart rise and fall. He laughed, as if he were enjoying the breeze of the wind. ¡°I can¡¯t disclose it, because I don¡¯t have it.¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t record it.¡± ¡°¡ What?¡± ¡°You hold my cell phone, Ms. Hee-joo.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± The dizzying buzz in her head was pushed back in a moment. She muttered in shock. ¡°¡what the hell¡ªbut then, with the unexplained recordings, you told Chairman Jang¡ª¡± ¡°If the other party listen to me obediently, I¡¯ll never be caught¡ª¡± ¡°¡ªyes, I do, if I¡¯d really believe that and sue. What are you going to do.¡± ¡°Sue him? Let¡¯s do it because I¡¯m a witness anyway.¡± He made a complaint, as if he were thinking about a drink from a vending machine. ¡°No, that¡¯s not the problem! You¡¯d threaten him, and if you don¡¯t have proof, you¡¯ll be humiliated¡¡± ¡°I was threatening him, but what can Chairman Chang do?¡± ¡°¡you asked him for compensation, and if they ever make it legal, you¡ª¡± ¡°Chairman Chang had admitted himself to committing a crime of abusing his position and power, so gave compensation in the form of an agreement.¡± ¡°Mr. Vice President.¡± ¡°And to be humiliated, there¡¯s nothing worse than to do a molesting act with an old man¡¯s face ¡ and now you¡¯re mad at me?¡± ¡°Giga, I¡¯m not ¡ I¡¯m just freaked out.¡± ¡°You don¡¯t have anything to lose.¡± ¡°¡ I was felt restless ¡ because I really believed it¡ª¡± ¡°I¡¯ve never seen you this upset.¡± ¡°I¡¯m not mad, I¡¯m not, I wasn¡¯t.¡± She was embarrassed that her words did not come out properly, she was embarrassed that she shouted at him. Her heart thumped hard, she is an idiot. ¡°Chairman Chang is one who is a little dangerous to play with, but it has to be, it¡¯s okay now.¡± ¡°But¡ª¡± ¡°Of course I had to kind of put myself in a bit of a risky position there.¡± So it was just me. ¡°It¡¯s a little stupid, but it¡¯s my choice, so I don¡¯t care about the embarrassment.¡± He added, as if he had looked into her thoughts for a moment, and she felt defenseless to be showing it on her face, which was not well-hidden, because of the driving. ¡°One of my cousins, who had nothing in his head, would eventually marry his daughter. I know I was crazy this time, and I might be gone forever. Maybe that¡¯s why it felt a bit good, but I¡¯m sorry for Hee-joo.¡± ¡°¡ The proposal sounded great, and Chairman Chang held high regards for your ability, and if you had gone with the marriage, he would have been very supportive of you¡¡± She knew it was a little too late, but she felt uneasy since she had never spoken of his personal matter before, and while she was worrying, her arm brushed against his arm, which he had laid on the armrest. ¡°So?¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Do you want me to get married?¡± Woo Jin-ha asks casually. No way. She was the woman who had been weighing the timing of Woo Jin-ha¡¯s mother leaving every time she came to his office with a marriage demand. No matter how much she wanted him, she did not want to be with a man who was married. ¡°Of course if she¡¯s a good woman.¡± So she wanted this lie to be believable without any doubts. As a secretary, she was involved in the public affairs as well as all private affairs of Woo Jin-ha, but she had never handled anything related to a woman more than six times. He wasn¡¯t a monk, but he never had the same woman more than once. The first reason was he was too busy with no time to care for a woman, the second was he did not want to meet with people who had a lot of time with nothing to do. It was both hope and frustration for her when Woo Jin-ha did not meet any woman, and she did not want to see any of those gorgeous women, but what can she do? It was mostly due to him who seemed to have no one who he was interested in, and that indifference of his is the reason why her unrequited love could last so long. So she wasn¡¯t too much affected with the possibility of another woman by Woo Jin-ha¡¯s side. His marriage, which all Woo Jin-ha¡¯s mother ever talked about, was also the same familiar subject. If it actually happened in front of her eyes, certainly she wouldn¡¯t last even for a second. ¡°Good woman ¡ the standards are too vague.¡± ¡°I have talked too much.¡± ¡°No, finish what you¡¯re trying to say.¡± ¡°The daughter is a great choice for the marriage, and I was wondering why you keep refusing to talk about it.¡± ¡°It¡¯s expensive.¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t have a hobby sleeping with a woman who fucked my cousin.¡± ¡°Oh¡.¡± She blushed, hearing the words blatantly. He tapped her gently and continued. ¡°I don¡¯t need a debt.¡± ¡°¡.. You meant it was too much for a price?¡± ¡°Usually it was, and I don¡¯t want to increase one more shackle.¡± There was nothing to say that marriages could be described on the same level as a shackle. However, she quietly swallowed a sigh of relief. ¡°What if the conditions aren¡¯t that high of a price?¡± ¡°If there¡¯s nothing to gain, then there¡¯s no point in getting married.¡± Even if she lowered the conditions a little compared to Chairman Chang¡¯s daughter, It still couldn¡¯t be compared to a woman of a high status that she couldn¡¯t even dream about anyway. The family that has power to support are shackles, but if it does not help much, there is no reason to marry too, so it seemed like he just did not want to marry. Chapter 13 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 13 Ten Minutes ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°You¡¯re still going to get married anyway.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll have to do it someday, but do I have to tell you that now?¡± ¡°No, I¡¯m sorry if you were uncomfortable¡ª¡± ¡°¡ªI told you not to apologize today.¡± ¡°I¡¯m sorry, it was your private business.¡± She apologized firmly, she thought she could say something else that¡¯s less shameless, but there was nothing to say. So for some time, there was still quietness, she wanted to look like nothing happened, but her face creaked like a wood puppet. She just wanted to go back to her room quickly and think about how today, she was stupidly ruining her own face to her heart¡¯s content. Not long after we began to see the hotel we were staying in. She finally felt a little relieved. ¡°Miss. Shim Hee-joo, I like you.¡± (T/N: damn) It was a very short relieving moment, until Woo Jin-ha suddenly pushed her back off the cliff. She couldn¡¯t remember how she got out of the car and got up to his room. It was like a vague sense of consciousness that she was not the one who did something like that since her head was screaming, urging her to leave Woo Jin-ha and run to her room instead. He was a strong man who was very drunk, and he got worse now when he got out compared to before he got in the car, and it was clear that he had become more drunk while he was sitting in the car. Or so she¡¯d like to believe that it¡¯s just a drunken, random, sober-ass bullshit. ¡°Silence is good.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± The subject that filled her mind was currently standing against her in the elevator, she even remembered what day it is. Even to the anxious twist that made his handsome face look more enchanting, that made her hate him a little for the first time. She couldn¡¯t tell how she moved her body, or how good the state she was in. She couldn¡¯t be too despicable to run away anyway, not with how bad the state he was in. He strongly refused to let the hotel staff, even tried to touch his body, he¡¯d rather lean back against his shoulder-tall secretary, until finally lying down on a gorgeous bed inside the hotel room, sighing languidly. She stopped at the edge of the bed. She had visited his house frequently, went to and from the hotel room where he had stayed, and she used the other room in the suite usually booked for business trips, but she never saw Woo Jin-ha lying on the bed in front of me. And so it was, too, a picture of a drunken sprawl, the embarrassment she felt watching the man blatantly aroused, who¡¯d know he could be that shameless. He was staring at her face the whole time. She tried to ignore it while picking up the hotel alarm clock, matching it with her watch and still Woo Jin-ha¡¯s gaze is fixed on her face. She took his phone out of her pocket and set it down on the side table, set it up a few minutes earlier than actual time. ¡°¡You¡¯ll have a breakfast appointment with EG Kim at seven-ten tomorrow. I will be ready at six-twenty and since you¡¯ve had a heavy drink today, I had set it up at six forty.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°Do you have any further instructions before I leave?¡± ¡°The answer.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°What¡¯s your answer?¡± She didn¡¯t know what he wanted. She somehow had managed to hold on to her logic but her heart was beating rapidly. Do you like me? The words had risen to her throat, sank back down dozens of times. She wanted to know, but she never dared to ask. Is it delightful to him if I like him? In a sense, he seemed to want to see her admit it, but what if that pleasure was just something to torment her about? If it was so obvious, it would have been quite funny, and maybe he just wanted to be proud of it with a drunken feeling. At the same time, her thoughts ran to the extremes. Hope began to sprout but denial immediately trampled on the bud. Woo Jin-ha stared at her and sat up, it made her instically step back as if he had already stood up in front of her. ¡°Do you hate me?¡± ¡°No.¡± She turned her head away and felt him smiling. ¡°Then it isn¡¯t that good either?¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± She never had talent for lying, if she had it, she would have already denied it. As he says, silence may be a better option, she could not even hold the urge to blurt out her answer due to the fact that once her answer was out, it could never be so easily reversed at any moment. After all he¡¯s drunk, so she just need to shut up and walk away. Then it becomes something that never happened. ¡°¡I¡¯ll be going back now.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll wait. Ten minutes.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°If Ms. Hee-joo doesn¡¯t come, then it will be your answer.¡± She turned around and walked out of his room. While waiting for the elevator, the shoe heel struck nervously on the marbled floor. The elevator was at the top floor, so she had to wait a long time before she could sighed deeply as she stepped in. She went down a floor and finally checked the number on her card key, which was far from the elevator. The thoughts in her head were out of control all the way down the floor. Please don¡¯t think. Don¡¯t even think about it. She sat back on the chair, she saw the clock in front. She was even surprised when she asked herself how many minutes have passed by now. Ten minutes. Ten minutes. She could only take her eyes off her watch, remembering that. Ten minutes. All the while she kept constantly recall that Woo Jin-ha who was still waiting for her. Her brainwashing attempt was useless. The clock seemed to have stopped. Sje realized it was only five minutes had passed. Why should I be concerned this so far? I only got a few drinks¡ She kept feeling this sense of discomfort, before she looked up. ¡°¡¡.¡± . There¡¯s snow that fell from the clock like a magic, and it seemed to possessed her. She couldn¡¯t make a decision because he was drunk. So of course it¡¯s something anyone should do. ¡but so what, if he¡¯s not in his right mind? Is the world going to collapse if I sleep with Woo Jin-ha? In those few steps down to the minibar, she had recounted all the worst aftermath. Woo Jin-ha has no feeling for her at all. If she just wanted to play with him for one night¡.it would feel like the time she had spent with him for nearly four years would be all in vain, but on the other hand, it would end this foolish mind that she could never rid off on her own. Her career wasn¡¯t very important, if she felt dirty, she¡¯d be right off. Slowly become determined to have this casual affair. I feel I am already drunk. She drank a bottle of liquor in miniature and took a quick breath, her throat was burning, but she went ahead and opened another bottle and poured it straight into her mouth, fearing it would not be enough. Even if he was drunk and won¡¯t say anything ¡ It was still a foolish idea, but the effect of the alcohol quickly swallowed her pathetic feeling. She¡¯d have to take another bottle to trample the hope that they¡might not be only for one night. Her only chance was now. *** T/rant: Her only chance to make a clown out of herself, readers COME ON cheer for her Hee-joo! Hee-joo! Chapter 14 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 14 Miserable Morning ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ She didn¡¯t realise how she walked to the elevator, she couldn¡¯t walk properly with a glass of wine. Or when she took his room card out with her steady hand and opened the door. As soon as she opened the door, she met Woo Jin-ha who was standing right at the door. Her hands were shaking. She seemed to have left something behind. Something she hadn¡¯t able to deliver¡. (T/N: sweetie, you left your brain behind¡ No need to thank me) At that moment, a strong arm pulled her into the room, at the same time he bowed his head down and swallowed her lips. When Woo Jin-ha leaned down, he looked so big, she could barely kiss him, her neck felt like it was breaking. The sound of a rough grind, the tangled tongue, the lips moved rapidly, the breath from his nose to hers. ¡°Hu¡..uh¡¡± Even though she wasn¡¯t naked, a hot sensation came from her ear, as if she were already naked. She knew it, since his big hand behind her neck touched her earlobe with his hot fingertips, pressing her lips just below his lips, forcing to open her mouth. She kissed him, as if he¡¯d given her his tongue, as if she¡¯d never kissed before, and as if he¡¯d never kissed anyone before. She squeezed his neck and pulled him closer, and he pushed me against the wall. Then with a bit of intoxicated sense, the shadow of Woo Jin-ha pushed me with his weight and fell on her. He then pulled her up so that her back was straight. Their eyes met in a ridiculously equal height, her legs slightly spread apart and completely in the air, her body trapped between him and the wall. With the power of Woo Jin-ha¡¯s body pushing her and the power of his hands that support the bottom of her hip. She felt his erection on her lower abdomen. At first, she thought it was his wrist, but it was not. Her heart pounded loudly. From the moment she opened the door until now her head was still pounding. His chest was touching her chest. She was embarrassed by her own reactions, she could not bear it, so she closed her eyes, looking like a child who believed that she wouldn¡¯t see anything if she¡¯d just cover her eyes. He trailed his lips down from her chin to her neck, and laughed for a moment, as if he had found a place where my blood was running, and sucked hard. ¡°Uh, uh, uh¡.¡± She wanted to think it wasn¡¯t her voice, that it might not be hers to control anymore because she didn¡¯t have the will nor strength. She sobbed, like an actress in a sad movie. She wanted him, who could not be reached, pulling his head and neck closer. Wouldn¡¯t it seem like she¡¯s been waiting for this? looking like a starved woman for this¡? A negative reason from the corner of her mind briefly rushed out of her head, but she was not in her right mind anyway, those three small bottles of wine were the cause of her indulgence. He wouldn¡¯t take her seriously anyway. She was actually drunk even before she left her room. She must have been too drunk to even notice it. She found him in her fluttering vision, and pushed her hand into the collar of his shirt. Woo Jin-ha laughed softly. ¡°Ms. Hee-joo, you¡¯ve been drinking.¡± She loosened a couple more buttons on his shirt, and slipped her hand around his neck to his broad shoulders. He felt as hot as she was. He was drunk as she was. She was drunk too, but she liked how they both were in the same state. ¡°Why?¡± ¡°¡hha¡± ¡°¡.Why did you drink?¡± ¡°Oh¡¡± ¡°Because you¡¯re not going to do it if you were on your right mind?¡± (T/N: yess! Correct! 5 points for correct answer!) ¡°I¡¯m not sure,¡± she said, he then bit the flesh that had popped out of her bra, causing her to nodded honestly. ¡°It¡¯s cute, and I¡¯m a bit¡.¡± ¡°You¡..too¡.drank ¡¡± ¡°We are working, and you did it on purpose, right¡± ¡°¡hah, uh¡.¡± ¡°You let me have it deliberately.¡± Woo Jin-ha pointed out impassively, and even though he was exposed, his composure was gone as he twisted under her chest. ¡°I let you drink all you want¡¡± ¡°Huh¡.,ah¡.¡± The bra was just pushed up, unscathed and blouse was untied and spilled down to her shoulders, none of it was properly removed. Her chest was naked in front of his eyes. Instead of pushing her body, he held her hips in his hands, lowered his head and sucked hard on her chest, and she could not look down. She closed her eyes tightly and her senses became clear. Her nipples were damp and stiff, colliding with the tips of his tongue. He then bit her whole nipples roughly with his mouth. She finally opened her eyes blankly, helplessly gasping from his bite. His eyelids looked languid than usual, and every time he swallowed her nipple, she bit the inside of her cheek desperately. She tried to concentrate on the wall over his shoulder, but her gaze would eventually turn back to Woo Jin-ha. And as if he had noticed it, Woo Jin-ha lifted his head slightly and swept her lips wet with his tongue again, her saliva-soaked chest touching the cold air, reacting sensitively. Her eyes and his eyes met. The perfect boss, who always never seemed in a state of disheveled, stood in front of her in a mess, his hair in her hand, his shirt collar pulled back to his shoulder. His muscles parted chest followed his breath between his shirts, and there was a decadent heat on his face, which was always indifferent and cold. He was a real stranger to her, a stranger with the face she had believed to be familiar with. She thought they were in the same state, but she still couldn¡¯t tell what he was thinking, his eyes black and sunken. He was staring at her eyes as if possessed, and he twisted his fingertips like he was harassing her saliva-soaked nipples. ¡°Oh¡!¡± ¡°Hee-joo always has too many thoughts.¡± If she had a lot of thoughts, she wouldn¡¯t have done this in the first place. She sarcastically pointed to myself. ¡°Only when you¡¯re in this drunken state.¡± ¡°Yes, yes¡¡± ¡°You¡¯re going to get out again?¡± She tried to escape from the dizzying spell to reply to him, but it was not hopeless. He rolled and pressed down her wet nipples with his fingertips, grabbing her chest in a full of big clutches, and then he tilted his head down to the other breast, began sucking it at the same time. ¡°eung, well¡ ooh.. well¡ª¡± The man stuck her nipples between his fingers, pinching it and bit her other stiffen nipples in his mouth, sucking it along with his tongue. The clothes were not half off yet, only barely taken off from her chest. Nonetheless, her pair of stiffened nipples were now completely wet. Woo Jin-ha with his very dignified face finally stood down and pulled it down on her stomach. It was not the first time she imagined having sex with him, but even then there was never such a scene like this erotically steamy act. It was mostly just like those movies that have plain sex scenes. Touching each other, coupled with a few wonderful kisses and falling into bed, covering their vital parts with a moderate blanket. The reason was so obvious. She felt like a child who knew nothing when she was in front of Woo Jin-ha. He was so wonderful, that he didn¡¯t seem to live in the same world as her. She could not dare think of sex that could have shaken a single mattress, squeaking it in her boyfriend¡¯s room. He was sucking her breasts like an experienced man, rubbing her chest, and squeezing her ass roughly below. She still could not believe that she was having sex with him even though she was already stripped of her clothes by Jin-ha¡¯s hand and had also stripped Jin-ha¡¯s clothes with her own hands. Even when I was laid down like this. ¡°ah¡!¡± She could tell that Woo Jin-ha was heavily so. From his slightly staggering step when he carried her, and from the weight of him falling down onto her. He had never been drunk like this. She thought about it for a moment, as he came thrusting in while gently spreading her legs. Will Woo Jin-ha remember this? (TL: No sweetie) Of course, since it had been too long since the last time he had sex, and with how she had never has sex like this before, her then thoughts quickly disappeared. She felt a dull pain at first, even though she was so excited to the point of soaking the underwear, but she still could not hide the pain, her legs became more and more stiff. She was so tight, he who could not even insert half of his, grabbed her ass instead. ¡°Loosen up.¡± ¡°¡h-h-¡.¡± ¡°I won¡¯t force it into you.¡± It was dizzy, she kept on dreaming, but now she was more dizzy, like she was drunk the whole day. He was so hard pressing into her, she liked the sense of dullness in her mind. He was inside her, she thanked the mercy of their drunken state and his patience of not forcing to thrust in, but she also hated it. Because it meant that he could know how to be considerate in her current state. She thought there was no woman. So it must¡¯ve been when he was travelling abroad. She suddenly felt a faint jealousy with a thought that cut her back and forth. She frowned and wrapped his waist around her legs, hugged his neck. His naked upper body is in full contact with her naked body, his expression distorted with a low groan at the unexpected arousal. She felt his back stiff, not willing to follow my wish, so she pushed my toes down his pants and whispered. ¡°I¡¯m not going to be here after.¡ so just do it.¡± She became a wonderfully easy woman. She heard him muttering a little curse. It had been unthinkable for the past four years, but right now it was worth it. She lost her rationality so she hoped to lose her last wall. Slowly, feeling him beginning to thrust back in, urging him to put his whole length to the hilt, and he flopped up her waist roughly. All these words, I would despise them later. So harder, deeper. Just do whatever you want. (T/N: aight imma go out) He was too big. He thrusted his thick penis in her tight hole down below but she still couldn¡¯t even get all of him. Every time his dick came in deep and every time he pulled it back out of her. Her inside that had been opened to him, curled tightly again and every time he would widen her inside again¡.the pleasure that paralyzed her made her feel like her head was going to explode. It was more than she could handle. She was so scared. But it was good, after all. So she thought she might never be able to forget this moment and for a moment the thought that she might never remember any other moment, as perfect as this one, rushed in her head. A moment of illusion that she wanted to prove to herself how blind her love is not in vain but the truth is what she had expected never happened. If so she would gladly do it because it would be her punishment. If you thought in delusion like in a classic fairy tale, you would never be able to turn it back, it would instead be as if you are earning an excessive punishment instead. He didn¡¯t remember anything, his expression when he woke up soberly, was the answer to all of those questions of her. Would he have a little affection towards me? Did he like me? Maybe he¡¯s gonna¡.. But the unpleasant sensation of semen flowing through her legs told her just how unworthy she was. It was indeed a miserable morning. -End of Chapter 1- T/rant: Damn¡.I have no words¡. She is so blindly in love with him, it feels pathetic and somewhat pitiful¡. Chapter 15 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 15 Broken Machine ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ 2. Home (T/N: back to the present) [Lines said by Woo Jin-ha will have (J) and lines said by shim will have (S)] She opened her eyes in the dark. She faintly could hear the air conditioner on the ceiling turning quietly. The familiar silence greeted her. It¡¯s a house without him in it. The fire is already out, and the curtains are closed. It seems like after Woo Jin-ha put her on the bed, he went to work right away. There had been no other words exchanged in the car last night. He will do it one day anyway, so his silence might as well be his confirmation. He didn¡¯t even try to hold on to her or persuade her. He has nothing to regret. On the contrary, it¡¯s always her side that has the regret. She couldn¡¯t even sleep but instead only stared at Woo Jin-ha¡¯s face for a long time. She regretted loving him, mourning those past few reckless moments they had spent together in the same bed that night. But now she doesn¡¯t feel sad anymore, perhaps because It¡¯s already expected or simply because she¡¯s so tired. Her chest was as hard as a rock. She laid still for a long time, hugging her empty stomach. ¡®Let¡¯s get divorced.¡¯ She thought he¡¯d feel happy if she said that. She had once imagined it. A dream-like scene of her abandoning Woo Jin-ha first, how horrible his face distorted together with her pipe-dream that he would somehow hold on to her. She couldn¡¯t remember what kind of expression he made then. For certain, it won¡¯t feel great anyway. No matter to the one who spoke nor to the one who listened, none of it matters anymore. It was all an inevitable result. No matter how far you try to walk, you won¡¯t be able to find your destination if it was the wrong way from the very beginning. No matter how hard you try, in the end, all of it would be in vain. That is the reality. It¡¯s the wrong path from the very beginning. The child simply showed me the fastest way. And like that when you came onto the wrong way, it¡¯s best just to go back the way you had come from again. She found her cell phone in the dark. That imaginary divorce of her was just a scene from a drama. Thus, she won¡¯t imagine anything anymore, and just straight ahead declare, ¡®Let¡¯s get divorced.¡¯ Reality always needs certainties. For the first time, she found the information she needed for the divorce. Originally, she thought it would be very troublesome. It¡¯s a very simple one instead. It is not complicated from the beginning to the end. She came to a new realization again. It¡¯s great that she could do it any time. She put away her cell phone and turned on the light. She was in a mess. She didn¡¯t want to feel drowsy because of the medicine, so she washed up. She felt like she was hurting herself while washing up, but It made her feel a bit better afterwards. I¡¯m going to sort out all this mess now, so she tried to sober up. These unwanted furniture, broken things, as well as bruises. Flustered memories are still everywhere. Woo Jin-ha wouldn¡¯t arrange these with his precious hands, and he didn¡¯t have the time. And so all she saw was a wrecked house. Without even remembering how comfortable she lived in this house and where the mop was, she had to search for a long time. Then, she found some dry dusters in the lounge used by housekeepers. After, she wiped the blood, removed the glass, and wiped the water from the vase. Doing so made her think nothing of it. Everything that had happened at the hospital was like a dream. No more the moment where she felt out of control. Life seemed to leave her in a trance. The child who showed its face in the ultrasound photo has disappeared. But her life remained the same. She was so scared that she was going to die, but she eventually survived. Now the previous pain felt like an illusion. She looked down blankly at her hand with a piece of glass on it. It didn¡¯t hurt even if the blood flowed out. Half the glass in front of her was already in the trash, and she was squatting in front of the rest of the glass fragments, like someone who¡¯d lost in thought. Not moving to clean, not getting up to get the medicine box, looking lost, not knowing what to do. Her heart thumped unpleasantly. A dull sound rang like there was a cotton pad in her ear. And when her vision was about to go blurred as well, she heard a sound from the porch. ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) Woo Jin-ha was back. When she managed to wake up, she squeezed her other hand that was holding the trash can. And likewise, as if her senses awoke at once, her hand with pieces of glass in it was aching painfully. She opened her hand wide like a broken machine, then closed it again. Her blood-soaked hand was shaking. ¡°¡what are you doing?¡± (J) The moment she wanted to pick up that large piece of glass with her uninjured finger, he suddenly lifted her hand into the air. ¡°What is this?¡± (J) Anger buried within his voice before he repeated his question. ¡°I ask you what is this?¡± (J) ¡°I got hurt while cleaning up.¡± (S) He grabbed the glass piece, threw it away, and forced her to stand up. ¡°Why would a sick person be doing this?¡± (J) Woo Jin-ha gritted his teeth and made her sit down on top of the table. She thought about where the medicine box was, but he walked and right away found it and brought it over. The piece of glass stuck within her finger was not that big. He simply said it would be better to accurately pull out with tweezers first, disinfect the wound before going to the hospital but she ignored his words, applied ointment, and put on a bandage. But when it instantly got soaked with blood, he looked displeased again. But she just looked at his face and didn¡¯t do anything. Nonetheless, the silence became uncomfortable, so she got up from her seat. ¡°Go and lie down. Don¡¯t think about cleaning up.¡± (J) Chapter 16 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 16 Annoyance ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Then who will do the clean?¡± (S) ¡°Madam*. Anyway, she¡¯s supposed to come early tomorrow morning. I thought to call her right away, but I¡¯m afraid you¡¯ll feel uncomfortable.¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s okay. I just don¡¯t want to leave it like this until then.¡±(S) ¡°Then I¡¯ll call my family.¡±(J) ¡°It¡¯s 9 p.m now. Don¡¯t ask them to come all the way here from Woosong-won.¡±(S) ¡°Then I¡¯ll do it.¡± (J) She was a little taken aback. ¡°What? Can you really do it?¡±(S) ¡°Why can¡¯t I? You¡¯re a patient, after all.¡± (J) ¡°Forget it. Leave it.¡±(S) He restrained her with extremely careful force. She pushed it away because she thought she could, but she ended up being stubborn. He grabbed her arm and sighed. ¡°Why is your body so cold?¡± (J) ¡°If I rest, I¡¯ll feel better. ¡°(S) ¡°Then get some rest. ¡°(J) ¡°After I clean it up.¡±(S) ¡°Did you eat anything?¡±(J) ¡°I did. ¡°(S) Woo Jin-ha stared into my eyes. He looked like he knew that she lied. But without saying anything, he picked up the shopping bag on the corner of the table. ¡°I bought porridge just in case. I¡¯ll heat it up, so eat it. I was going to come faster, but there was a traffic jam.¡±(J) It was already late. She wanted to smile casually, but she just put up with it because it didn¡¯t seem to suit them that much. ¡°No, just leave it. I¡¯ll take care of it later.¡±(S) ¡°When?¡±(J) ¡°Just ¡ later. Not now.¡±(S) ¡°So when would this ¡®later¡¯ be?¡±(J) ¡°I¡¯ve had IV drips earlier, so it¡¯s okay.¡±(S) Dissatisfied, he turned silently with his shopping bag, angrily walking away. His big back looked stubbornly estranged. She was still annoyed by the mess. To be honest, everything she saw right now was bothering her. She calmed down as if the scene when she was out of her mind just a few minutes ago seemed like a lie. She couldn¡¯t even know what she wanted to do despite being constantly on impulse. She tried to clean up the house quickly and make it clean again, but then at the same time, she tried to destroy the rest of it as well. The only answer was for her to get out of this house as quickly as possible. The old house in Gimpo, where she lived with her parents, was empty after a couple who were renting the house recently just moved out. The luggage brought from her studio-flat will stay in another room that is unused at home. Also, when the space is empty, it will be easier to move. If she moves the luggage right away early tomorrow afternoon, she won¡¯t have to face Woo Jin-ha. While she was sorting out her thoughts, he brought the heated porridge on a tray. She just watched the food in front of her for a while. Woo Jin-ha stood next to her as if he didn¡¯t want to give in anymore, and this ridiculous war of nerves continued for quite a while. She picked up the spoon reluctantly. Seeing that she began to eat, Woo Jin-ha loosened his tie and went to the bathroom. She wasn¡¯t surprised. Even if nothing happened, he was kind from time to time. It was something that occasionally made me have the illusion. The experience of becoming a fool because of this behavior has happened many times. After all of that, this still touches her¡ really making her want to laugh at herself in a sense. She forced herself to swallow porridge but eventually put away the spoon because she felt nauseous. She thought about tomorrow in a daze again. It¡¯s hard to hire people right away¡. Should I contact Yoon-hyeong? Though, she doesn¡¯t know whether he would scold or sympathize with her. She wasn¡¯t sure. ¡°¡¡.¡±(S) Before she knew it, she saw Woo Jin-ha coming to the kitchen after taking a shower, so she picked up the bowl while avoiding his eyes. ¡°Leave it.¡±(J) He gently took her hand off the bowl and frowned at the bowl that she hadn¡¯t even emptied yet. But without saying a word, he carried the tray back to the sink. Suddenly at a loss of something to do, she once again saw the messy house. Because she thought about tomorrow, she wanted to clean up the house before. It¡¯s like a habit of trying to be clean before leaving the rented house. She didn¡¯t have much time. ¡°Please stop.¡±(J) This time it¡¯s clearly an annoyed voice. She could also hear him strode along as she was already aware of his steps, moving closer to her. ¡°There¡¯s not much time left.¡±(S) ¡°Shim Hee-joo. ¡°(J) ¡°Let me clean up, first.¡± (S) ¡°Should I show you a mirror? so you could see what you look like right now?¡±(J) ¡°It¡¯s better than it looks. ¡°(S) ¡°Fuck it, I don¡¯t believe you and I told you I will do it instead.¡±(J) Nonetheless, the quarrel wasn¡¯t long. When he grabbed her on her shoulder and pulled her into the bedroom, her vision started to spin. The porridge she ate and nausea came up, and She pushed him away with all her might. Fortunately, it doesn¡¯t take much time for her to run into the bathroom and spit out what she just ate. Blood was drawn to my head as if someone had hung her body upside down. Tears flowed down after the sensation crashed down. She sat down in front of the toilet, waiting for the pressure to slow down even a little. Her stomach still felt horrible. The feeling of nausea continued despite nothing else left to vomit. After a long time, she swept over her forehead that was slightly wet in a cold sweat, and she felt that it was finally over. It wasn¡¯t much worse than when she was having morning sickness, but now she is too weak. It takes a lot of effort to get up from where she was and walk to the sink. She stood as if she leaned against the sink and managed to wash her face again, brush her teeth. Then with the water still running, she laid down again for a long time. She could have stayed like that all night long if it hadn¡¯t been for the series of heavy pounding on the bathroom door. She stood up and opened the door. Woo Jin Ha was standing there. Honestly, she wanted to show him the mirror since his face was in a messier state than her. ¡°Let¡¯s go to the hospital. Hee-joo. ¡°(J) ¡°I have already gone to the hospital earlier.¡±(S) ¡°You should¡¯ve still been hospitalized.¡± (J) ¡°It was just a recommendation, but a must.¡±(S) ¡°Nothing could be done at home.¡±(J) ¡°The doctor said I could stay home and relax for a while¡¡±(S) ¡°Is the resting woman supposed to be cleaning?¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s not a major cleaning. It¡¯s just fixing up my mess. That¡¯s¡¡±(S) Chapter 17 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 17 Sorrow Flew Away Like Dust ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Don¡¯t you know what resting means? Lying still in bed.¡± (J) ¡°I always did this whenever I am home¡± (S) ¡°How long¡ Half a day?¡± (J) ¡°Yes. Anyway, now that I¡¯ve had enough rest, you don¡¯t have to pretend to worry now. I¡¯m really fine.¡± (S) He is a man who comes back to work like nothing happens even if his wife has a miscarriage. A man who¡¯d even come back late at night only after he has done all the things he should do. How much thought did he care to spend on their divorce? I don¡¯t care about his sincerity at all. Woo Jin-ha didn¡¯t say anything, even after she passed by him. It felt cold. Seems like she might have a sudden fever. She was afraid that she won¡¯t be able to carry her luggage tomorrow. Perhaps she should go to the hospital early in the morning for an IV drip. ¡°I called professor Han.¡± (J) She was going to say she didn¡¯t need it reflexively, but she nodded when she thought about tomorrow¡¯s work. She slowly sat on bed feeling dizzy. She was silent once again. She couldn¡¯t get any closer to the foot of the bed, and she couldn¡¯t lie down because he was too close. The air had an uncomfortable balance. Thus soon, she ran out of patience. ¡°¡¡It won¡¯t take long.¡± (S) ¡°Pardon me..¡± (J) ¡°Divorce consultation is really simple. It¡¯s more if you don¡¯t have children.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°I don¡¯t have much time to prepare for things like documents¡ I¡¯ll talk to Mr. Kim tomorrow. Jin-ha, you¡¯re busy. I won¡¯t bother you.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°I can do it right away from tomorrow¡¡± (S) ¡°Shim Hee-joo. ¡± (J) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) ¡°I didn¡¯t answer you.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°I haven¡¯t said anything, not yet.¡± (J) ¡°Wasn¡¯t that a silent affirmation?¡± (S) So even that was something he couldn¡¯t bother to remember. Feeling in vain as soon as she spoke, she turned her head away. ¡°Be careful. You¡¯re smarter than this.¡± (J) ¡°I¡¯m being careful now.¡± (S) ¡°Don¡¯t do anything you¡¯ll regret in an instant.¡± (J) ¡°I won¡¯t regret it.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°Since I met Jin-ha, I¡¯ve regretted all kinds of things by myself, but for certain I won¡¯t regret this at all.¡± (S) ¡°There¡¯s nothing you would get right now.¡± (J) She looked at him in disbelief when she heard a slight sneer at his words, signs of little sarcasm. He looked more incredibly angry. All because of the word ¡®regret¡¯? She looked straight into his fierce shining eyes and answered sharply. ¡°I know. I read it with my own eyes and signed it with my own hands.¡± (S) We have a prenuptial contract. About what her situation would be on that piece of paper ¨C of course, it totally depends on whether she will be having a baby or not. From the beginning, she was the woman who married because of a child, chaining Woo Jin-ha¡¯s ankle. ¡°As for the death of the child before birth, all also have been explained by lawyer Kim in detail before marriage.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°From miscarriage to stillbirth. In that case, as a result, I can¡¯t get anything because I¡¯ve contributed nothing to this marriage.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°That¡¯s right. I agreed.¡± (S) ¡°¡..Mr. Kim told you such a thing?¡± (J) ¡°He gave me a detailed example on how prenuptial agreements could have a wide range of implications.¡± (S) ¡°Did you sit back and listen to it and agree?¡± (J) Woo Jin-ha smiles with a sharp face. She then asked while looking at him because she couldn¡¯t understand. ¡°How did you think I was able to get married to you?¡± (S) ¡°Are you crazy?¡± (J) ¡°What¡¯s different about what Jin-ha is trying to say to me now?¡± (S) He looked at me as if he had been hit hard at the moment. She laughed secretly. ¡°Since there is nothing to take, and I know what the result would be, thus isn¡¯t it better to throw it away? Jin-ha, do you even need me? Bullshit.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°Go out and meet any woman. That¡¯s all you used to do after we got married, and because you could actually do it even while we were getting married that was why I signed so that you can meet another woman as much as you want.¡± (S) ¡°Don¡¯t talk like that.¡± (J) ¡°Or are you offended because I didn¡¯t tell you before? I thought you would thank me for alleviating any hardship.¡± (S) ¡°Shim Hee-joo. ¡± (J) ¡°Did I sit still and agree? Yes, I did. Of course, I didn¡¯t feel like I was going to fly away with joy. When a baby is born, no pregnant woman agrees to have a paternity test two months before birth and still feels happy.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°Why¡ Is it the first time Jin-ha has heard about it?¡± (S) ¡± I had just heard about this for the first time. ¡± (J) ¡°Didn¡¯t you even bother to look at the premarital contract?¡± (S) ¡°Because it¡¯s a common practice.¡± (J) To her, Woo Jin-ha, who seemed the most mature in the world, looked like a child instead, for a while. I didn¡¯t know this would happen, I didn¡¯t know how this could happen¡ with those anxious eyes, staring at her as if he were saying that. If she were to see such eyes of Woo Jin-ha a few days ago, perhaps she wouldn¡¯t be able to stand by not hugging him. How is it possible that Woo Jin-ha didn¡¯t even have the slightest idea about the terms of our divorce? That would simply be disgusting bullshit. ¡°¡ Then you simply never care enough even to insult me.¡± (S) (P/R: like saying that Jin-ha is in fact never bothered to even know/care for her (existence) at all, not even wanting to bother sparing an effort/thought to insult her. Completely treating her like she doesn¡¯t exist in her life at all. THIS CRAZY SON OF A BITCH) She felt stupid and sad when she thought it was all Woo Jin-ha¡¯s decisions. Should she be happy now that he said he didn¡¯t want it? But now that I tell you the truth, I won¡¯t laugh while crying at the same time. Woo Jin-ha was simply never interested in her at all. That¡¯s why she didn¡¯t even worry about eating away his great assets by using the child as an excuse. She didn¡¯t have to. Sorrow flew away like dust. ¡°I received the report. There was no such thing in the report.¡± (J) ¡°He (Lawyer Kim) wouldn¡¯t have to report it to Jin-ha. Of course.¡± (S) ¡°You agreed with the bullshit. If I knew the content in advance¡ª.¡± (J) ¡°¡ªEven if you know¡ What will change.¡± (S) ¡°¡.At least I won¡¯t let you hear that kind of shit.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) Chapter 18 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 18 Turn Back Time ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Like, buying a child¡ Something like that¡.¡± (J) His face was distorted inside his roughly dry hands. He¡¯s right. Prenuptial contracts are not for orphans like her, but more for those women from chaebol* families (*note: a large family-owned business/ conglomerates.), when they were considering each distribution of their support from both families, while she was only mortgaged by her husband for the rights of their unborn child. Only when she promised to become a nominal wife and a shell mother could she become Woo Jin-ha¡¯s family. Together with a promise that she could be chased out of the family any time he wants as well. Since no matter what happens, the child is Woo Jin Ha¡¯s child¡¡. ¡°What were you thinking? You¡ What did you even think¡ ¡± (J) That¡¯s right. What was I thinking¡ Woo Jin-ha may never love her for all his life, but she did intend to love him for her whole life, so she finally chose him. He is free to do anything while she can¡¯t do anything. No matter who he met or did, she had to acknowledge that no charges would be imposed on him. Likewise, if one day he suddenly wished for a divorce, she must¡¯ve only nodded her head obediently, and of course before, she wouldn¡¯t dare to ask for it first. Of course, It was because she also had a fair degree of trust in him. She knew that even if she is annoying, he won¡¯t meet another woman, and she surely won¡¯t ever do anything that could bother him enough to make him want to break up with her. She knew Woo Jin-ha well. Even if it¡¯s something he doesn¡¯t like, at least he won¡¯t die from it. But what would break us up is something they never expected instead. Or maybe it¡¯s wrong to simply depend on the fact that they can be together if they could just stamp on that. We really went wrong from the very beginning. No matter how they look at their beginning. She was still laid on the wrong side. ¡°I thought that was your idea.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°So I didn¡¯t think about anything, because if you wanted it. I just had to follow.¡± (S) A miserable voice somehow still came out when she hadn¡¯t wished for it. But there was no emotion. While responding to her answer, Woo Jin-ha¡¯s distorted face was smeared in bewilderment but soon returned again slowly. Like forcing the broken machine to run again. ¡°¡It won¡¯t have any legal effect, so it isn¡¯t valid, Hee-joo.¡± (J) ¡°Jinha-ssi¡± (S) ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter, forget it.¡± (J) ¡°Jinha-ssi, I can¡¯t forget¡. That.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°I won¡¯t forget how badly the choice that I¡¯ve taken just to be with you.¡± (S) That wasn¡¯t even the worst thing I¡¯ve ever heard from the lawyer. ¡°If I could turn back time, I won¡¯t tell Woo Jin-ha anything.¡± (S) Neither the child nor her heart, she won¡¯t let him know anything. While it would have been best if she didn¡¯t sleep with him in Busan at all if she could turn back time, however, she still wasn¡¯t willing to erase the fact that the child had once existed even if it was only inside her imagination. But, the child is already dead anyway. ¡°So I won¡¯t make the same mistake twice.¡± (S) ¡°Is this marriage a mistake for you?¡± (J) ¡°I would like to ask Woo Jin-ha if it isn¡¯t true.¡± (S) ¡°Oh, no.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°At least I¡¯ve never made a mistake.¡± (J) I¡¯ve always been this way. Every time I was about to give up, I was always forced to breathe and inflate with hope again, kept thinking that I¡¯m not alone digging this hole. Maybe, just maybe, he wanted to be with me as well. To some extent. But that was before she got her throat choked. ¡°It¡¯s worse because it has been intentional.¡± (Note: They did it intentionally, as in the s*x activity.) (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°You didn¡¯t do anything wrong, still it¡¯s very despicable¡ Of me.¡± (J) He held her shoulder gently and stared at her, who had no strength left to resist his hand that swept on her cheek. He bent his wide back to meet her eyes. ¡°Yes, I¡¯m an evil man, Hee-joo.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s the only correct thing you¡¯ve got right. But you can¡¯t divorce me.¡± (J) Her face stiffened. He obstinately followed her eyes, staring at her pair of bright eyes. Their lips then touched. He expertly opened her lips, devouring her lower lip greedily, consuming it. Unconsciously feeling like this was the same prelude before the sex, she tried to push Woo Jin-ha away in vain. But he did not even budge and continued the kiss. While struggling in his arms, her body collapsed because she couldn¡¯t overcome his strength. As if he had waited, he threw his big body over her, our tongue entangled. Whenever their entangled lips loosen a little, the sound of gasping would burst out now and then. ¡°You know what? ¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°If I was a good guy, I wouldn¡¯t have come all the way here with you from the very beginning.¡± (J) Woo Jin-ha said with a smile, rubbing closely to her lips. As she stared at him blankly, he then bit her lip again before he backed away. She thought he would take off her clothes, but he didn¡¯t even touch them from the beginning. ¡°Think about it. If you can¡¯t do it right, then you might as well don¡¯t start it at all.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) Woo Jin-ha went back to his expressionless face while telling her all of that as if nothing had happened earlier. Then gently stroked her face as if trying to coax her. ¡°Hee-joo, we can have a baby again any time in the future.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°Your health is the most important thing. You¡¯re alright, that¡¯s all that matters.¡± (J) ¡°Jin-ha, it might be enough for you, but not for me.¡± (S) ¡°You could have been in danger, too. Maybe it was just fated to be.¡± (J) (T/N: ¡¡fated to be miscarriage) ¡°You spoke as if you were there the whole time.¡± (S) ¡°Because I heard it from the shadow¡ so it¡¯s almost the same.¡± (Note: The spy. He heard it from the person he sent to tailed her) There¡¯s nothing he doesn¡¯t know. Perhaps, he was only surprised to hear more directly from her point of view. She simply felt exhausted by now. ¡°I¡¯m sorry I let you go through it alone today.¡± (J) He suddenly apologized. She turned her eyes away. ¡°I¡¯m sorry I made you alone.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°I¡¯m sorry I made you endure it alone.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) Chapter 19 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 19 Would Have Been ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ (T/N: lines said by housekeeper will denoted like this: HK) ¡°But Hee-joo. We can¡¯t break up.¡± [J] (T/N: This Woo-Jinha is so Sus, what is he scheming!?) The thought in her head seemed to be sucked back in the car when she was returning from the hospital. However, before the sense of loss became too vivid, like a fugitive, she ran away from her memory. ¡°¡ Jin-ha think about it again. I had regret right now, so I won¡¯t even calculate it. ¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (J) ¡°The troublesome kid is gone, and your wife just said she was willing to leave without taking even a penny like stated in the prenuptial contract. This was a really great opportunity.¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s not going to happen.¡± (J) ¡°Tomorrow will probably be different.¡± (S) ¡°There¡¯ll be no difference.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°I¡¯ve never agreed to divorce from the beginning.¡± (J) At that moment, the phone rang. Woo Jin-ha then gently helped her lay down on the bed properly before walking out of the bedroom. After receiving a doctor¡¯s treatment, she slept like dead. It was well past noon when she woke up. She felt much better than before she fell asleep. There was a housekeeper in the living room. She then said that Woo Jin-ha stayed home until lunch before going back to work when he saw her (Note: The housekeeper). It¡¯s only been less than 20 minutes ago. She looked around everywhere. But unlike what she remembered, yesterday¡¯s mess was already nowhere to be seen. The house has been cleaned neatly and tidy in the hands of a helper instantly. ¡°The house was a mess, wasn¡¯t it?¡± (S) ¡°No? It was clean previously too.¡± (HK) She couldn¡¯t believe Woo Jin-ha really organized it as he said, nonetheless, she still felt like it was not a big deal after all. She headed for the kitchen to fix a cup of coffee. Drinking coffee wouldn¡¯t be better for a messed-up body, but she wanted her mind to be clearer than it is now. It could be a minor psychological compensation since she couldn¡¯t drink it while she was pregnant. She turned on the espresso machine that she had seen every day but never used before. Woo Jin-ha stood in front of her every morning and drank coffee. It¡¯s one of the few memories she could recall in our daily lives. She opened her mouth thinking of him for a moment as if she were looking at a picture that was beautiful, but she didn¡¯t want to have it at the same time. She recalled that beautiful scene that she didn¡¯t wish to see, thinking about him then opened her mouth. ¡°Madam, would you like a cup of coffee?¡± (HK) ¡°Thank you, ma¡¯am.¡± (S) She gave her a cup of coffee, laughed gracefully and kindly as if she was genuinely happy working in this house, and felt truly grateful. She has a daughter and son who are about my age and got a similar salary the same as me ¨C maybe if my own mother was still alive, she would¡¯ve also grown old and look as good as this elderly person. Nonetheless, this housekeeper was just one of those genuinely friendly people. Unlike how most of the time it was embarrassing to see different kinds of people that they had hired before then, like one who was overly familiar to their employer or who acted completely polite to her¡ª acting as if both of them were from a different status ¡ª like a woman who was born from money. (T/N: Like a person who¡¯s family is already rich) Would I also have taken all this for granted if I had lived in this house for ten more years? Will I be able to leave all of this then, just as my luggage has never been mixed up in this house? Either way, it¡¯s ridiculous, so she smirked. The coffee she hadn¡¯t had in a long time tasted bitter, and it was so bitter that I started to wonder why she once liked it. But still, it helped her wake up. ¡°¡Well, I heard you just went through a miscarriage.¡± (HK) That dreadful question came so suddenly. I almost forgot about being pregnant for a moment, then instantly remembered what happened yesterday as if she got thrown in cold water. She was stunned for a moment. It wasn¡¯t because of anything else, but because she didn¡¯t know what expression to make when she heard such a question. Her usual emotional reaction seemed to be broken. ¡°It¡¯s too bad¡ I think I even saw a glimpse of the baby¡¯s face in the ultrasound last time.¡± (HK) Not long ago, she showed her the ultrasound picture. The day after she came back from the hospital, she happened to see her fiddling with the picture and asked if it was a baby picture. She almost cried that day without realizing it because her(HK) face was so pure and bright. So touching was similar to a beggar who didn¡¯t get any coins all day and was finally able to eat bread late in the evening. She didn¡¯t know why, but her little interest felt so sweet. Maybe it¡¯s because there¡¯s no one else who would care. There was no one to wonder about that little picture, or maybe it was just because she had thought about her mom¡ She was a little shocked to realize that the only person to whom she had ever shown the picture was this housekeeper in front of her. But strangely, she felt calm again. ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter.¡± (S) ¡°How did you¡ Oh, it¡¯s fine. I shouldn¡¯t have asked you that. Make a fool of myself¡¡± (HK) ¡°You have been paying a lot of attention to the baby. Thank you.¡± (S) ¡°What am I¡ I did something. Wasn¡¯t that the reason you called that day? If it had been the day I went to work, I would¡¯ve been able to help somehow.¡± (HK) ¡°You said you¡¯d come right back then. It already helped me.¡± (S) ¡°¡How did you endure all these things by yourself¡? How scared you would have been without anyone¡.¡± (HK) It felt like that was someone else¡¯s story. As she simply continued to take a sip of coffee. ¡°How uncomfortable your body must¡¯ve been¡ Just like giving birth¡ The baby is so old. If it had stayed a few more weeks¡ just a week more¡ Recently, the world has changed for the better, and many premature babies are living. That child could¡¯ve been born if it was a little longer¡ ¡± (HK) ¡°¡¡.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡The baby must have been very pretty.¡± (HK) She know that was what she couldn¡¯t bear to say out loud. And the baby really would¡¯ve been if that was the case. The child would have certainly grown up having almost all of Woo Jin-ha¡¯s features. That¡¯s why the baby was so pretty. Chapter 20 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 20 He Chose You ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ She remembered how many stupid things she said to her back then. She thought the kid looked like his dad. So she was sure she¡¯ll be pretty. Her forehead, her closed eyes, her nose, her mouth all look like her father. She hoped that she would grow up to be a woman who¡¯d looked like her father, and it would be cool as well if she was tall¡ She never quite had anything to say to Woo Jin-ha. Although she was very strange to her, she was still very busy responding to me. Occasionally told me how she noticed the baby¡¯s features that resembled her husband. She wanted to slap herself in the face if she could. Like to shut herself up, sobered up, or what-not. She hated herself for thinking such foolish thoughts out in the world. ¡°The President is very disappointed, too, isn¡¯t he?¡± ¡°¡Yes, he is.¡± ¡°You will be pregnant again in no time. You both are still so young¡ Not like my husband¡¯s nephew. She had miscarriages two years ago and last year as well, and looks like it¡¯ll be difficult to conceive again, causing the parents to worry.¡± ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°You know, my niece, who just had a baby? She¡¯s the one. The problem is that some people can¡¯t get pregnant at all, but some who can get pregnant continue like that¡.¡± Her voice was full of warm hearts, but it was still the worst consolation. She was sad because she died, not that she wouldn¡¯t be able to have another child. She stared absent-mindedly while she went to search for anything else to work on after leaving a few more perfunctory words of consolation. Sje sat still at the table for some time after that. She needed an objective. A proper target¡ Cleaning up. Okay. She should do some cleaning. She could feel a worried gaze directed at me as she walked, but she didn¡¯t want to talk anymore. She knew what it would look like for a woman who just had a miscarriage yesterday to wander in front of the nursery, but she didn¡¯t need any deep sympathy. She walked into the nursery and shut the door as if to block any watchful eyes. The room was filled with all kinds of baby supplies that her mother-in-law bought and placed here in advance. ¡°It would¡¯ve been so good if that unplanned child could just vanish by themselves.¡± The same mother-in-law who said that in front of me acted as if losing all of her care in a day even began to ignore me. About five months later, she suddenly bought all kinds of things, carefully choosing them. At that time her heart was full of hope because of her actions. At that time, she had no idea of what¡¯s inside, and now she no longer wanted to know, so she just put all the things that she gave her in one empty room, and the room quickly became like this. A room decorated with sincerity while waiting for the day the child would be born. It¡¯s a room where she didn¡¯t have any memories of choosing things by her own hands or decorating happily. So she didn¡¯t think that she¡¯d feel any sense of loneliness, still, the room that was still waiting for a child looked pitiful for some reason. ¡®If that¡¯s not the case, how can that guy who¡¯s like a stone figure bear any children? Yeah. So, it¡¯s good to be swift. Get married, hurriedly get me a great-grandson, President!¡¯ When she recalls the most positive words her mother-in-law has said about her child, she suddenly becomes curious. Would she say that this was also ¡°good¡±? Or maybe would be sorry for her brief interest in buying these things. It¡¯s none of my concern anymore now. The sound of laughter leaked out as if the wind had blown it away. She looked around more numbly, picking up the small number of baby clothes she¡¯d ever bought. And she left the room with only that. Promptly after the housekeeper finished and left. She figured then it won¡¯t be too late to leave this house after. She opened the dressing table¡¯s drawer and pulled out a leather notebook containing the maternity notebook and several ultrasound pictures that were grouped separately. Then the last ultrasound photo that she hadn¡¯t attached, fell down. The child¡¯s face, slightly frowned face, bent hands, and short legs caught her eye. It still hasn¡¯t hit home that the child was already shaped so close to a real baby. And she didn¡¯t want to see it. ¡®If you had held on a little longer¡ you could¡¯ve seen the world. If you¡¯d just hold on a little longer¡¡¯ It was a poison resulting from a bunch of hopeless ¡®ifs¡¯. Always. Just like how she had thought about her family. She wiped away the tears that fell on the picture with her fingertips and hurriedly rubbed them away as if afraid someone would see her face. The photograph was inserted randomly into the notebook again carelessly stuffed together with the maternity¡¯s notebook before she dumped it into the wastebasket nearby. She threw away all the baby clothes on top of it. However, the feeling like she had just thrown her child into the wastebasket, came to her. And just like that, she couldn¡¯t stand the sight of it on top of the wastebasket for a long time, who couldn¡¯t overcome the longing, took out a set of baby clothes thrown on the top, and held it in her hand. It happened to be one she liked the most. As if she just stole it, she then quickly stuffed it into her bag and soon found things she needed to get rid of in the bedroom next. Most of the things she used in this house were bought by her mother-in-law in a hurry by her secretary before and after marriage, and there were not many things she could say were really hers. Half of the dressing room was full of her clothes, but she didn¡¯t even want any of them. In the beginning, she lived in Hannam-dong with her mother-in-law temporarily. After the wedding, all the newlyweds¡¯ needs have been arranged and obtained in the house that they had gone and lived in now. At that time, she wasn¡¯t allowed to even bring any of her belongings. Her mother-in-law was especially appalled by a blouse she used to wear and even the earrings she had always worn. ¡®Why was I required to pretend that I was from their status anyway?¡¯ All were not allowed whether it¡¯s an expensive blouse at a duty-free shop or a pair of earrings that she bought after pondering about it ten more times repeatedly. Everything she ever had has been worthless. Even her most prized belongings. Mother-in-law¡¯s concerns in a way were indeed understandable. Her most important concern was for her to not cause any embarrassments to her son when she stood next to Woo Jin-ha. Even her own father, who had run a small business in Gimpo, had turned to ¡°The deceased CEO of a medium-sized company.¡± Of course, the next lie was even more humiliating and exaggerated. ¡®Although I am aware that she has many shortcomings, I can¡¯t help it because after all Jin-ha chose you¡¯ Chapter 21 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 21 Sense of Purpose ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ [T/N: I¡¯ll be using (Y) for Yoon-heyong] It indeed sounds more romantic than saying ¡®what to do when she is already with child?¡¯ There¡¯s not much to acknowledged, but Woo Jin-ha likes her. That¡¯s what matters the most. Mother-in-law said her daughter-in-law was a woman that came from nothing and that was true since she really never had anything, she was a human being who had nothing in this house. There was no family, no parents, no love from Woo Jin-ha, and now no child as well, so finally, ¡®nothing¡¯ perfectly described her. She only took a couple of things from the bedroom. There were very few things that she could call hers after all. What they bought for her wasn¡¯t hers. All the props mother-in-law bought, and big jewels Woo Jin-ha gave. It¡¯s all theirs. From the kitchen, the living room, and finally the bathroom. She searched the whole house for what is hers and threw other things all away. Then she went to an unused room and saw the luggage she had brought from her studio flat. It remained the same even the tape was left unscathed all this time. She had a pretty good life with some of those boxes once. And that was all she would ever need from the start. The final decision was quickly over. Instead, she had spent a long time looking for the cellphone that she forgot where she had left it before somewhere in the house. As soon as she found her cell phone, she called Yoon-hyeong and prayed that he wassn¡¯t currently working. ¨C Shim Hee-joo? After a few beeps, she heard his doubtful voice calling her name instead of ¡®Hello¡¯. ¡°Are you free now?¡± ¨C Now? What time? ¡°I need your car.¡± ¨C So, you who haven¡¯t called for a long time, finally call out of the blue just to tell me to hand over my car. He gave a blunt blow. Kim Yoon-hyeong, who has been a neighborhood friend since elementary school, was working with a college friend just 40 minutes away from this house. Looking at the clock on the wall, she calculated when Yoon-hyeong would be able to arrive to this house. ¨C Your car¡? ¡°Your car is bigger. I need to bring several of my luggage¡± ¨C When? ¡°Now.¡± ¨C That¡¯s why we¡¯re suddenly talking about that now? ¡°Suddenly needed. At work?¡± ¨C Is it urgent? Kim Yoon-hyeong didn¡¯t answer her question, instead, he asked like that. As long as she said that she was in an urgent situation, she knew that he would come right away without asking the reason. Kim Yoon-hyeong used to be close to her family, and he was very weak to her ¡°emergency¡± since we were a child. She looked down at her flat stomach. Ever since it got bulging, she has always worn loose clothes, so now he wouldn¡¯t easily notice it right away. She stroked her stomach with the palm. Even though It is no longer bulging like before, like it before when there isn¡¯t any child. Kim Yoon-hyeong hasn¡¯t seen her in a long time. He won¡¯t know what happened, but she will eventually tell him when they meet. But for now, he doesn¡¯t know why she has to carry this luggage. It¡¯s too early for her to tell him. ¨C Shim Hee-joo? ¡°¡¡.¡± ¨C Oi. ¡± ¡Well. I¡¯m in a hurry. I need it right away. ¡° ¨C What luggage? ¡°Luggage from my studio-flat. Now it¡¯s in the spared room, so I wanted to move them to Gimpo. ¡° ¨C There wasn¡¯t enough room? Why? ¡°I need to use the other separate place.¡± She didn¡¯t tell any elaborate reason, but Yoon-hyeong asked again seriously. ¨C For the kids? ¡°¡ Yes.¡± -What about your husband? ¡°At work.¡± She knows it¡¯s not the right answer that he wanted to know about, in fact, he wasn¡¯t asking about where he (Woo Jin-ha) is now, but the reason why he (Woo Jin-ha) can¡¯t do it for her instead. Kim Yoon-hyeong was quiet for a moment. Actually, she had never talked to Yoon-hyeong about her marriage, but he always has been a person who¡¯d quick to noticed something without actually being to be told. ¨C I see. Probably he has already known that there was no mutual love between Woo Jin-ha and her, so he pretended to be oblivious. ¨C Is it ok to go straight now? ¡°Yes. As soon as possible¡± ¨C Alright. Send me the address then. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, Yoon-hyeong.¡± ¨C It¡¯s all right. Quickly the phone was cut off. She washed her used water cup then looked around the house to see if there was anything more she should throw away. There seemed to be nothing different from before as well after. All the things inside the house still looked the same. She had only looked at the things that she had used, throwing them all away, things like toiletries or toothbrushes, that no one else won¡¯t be able to use after. The only difference is that she won¡¯t be here anymore. After she had finished sorting out her belongings inside the bag, she sat on the sofa and waited for a while, and not long after Yoon-hyeong arrived. ¡°Is this real your house? Wow¡ What kind of apartment is this, does it even have an outdoor courtyard?¡± (Y) ¡°Come here¡± (S) ¡°Don¡¯t even let me see around your house? After the way you were calling over.¡± (Y) ¡°I didn¡¯t ask you for a visit.¡± (S) ¡°Even though I¡¯m your best friend that comes to your home for the first time¡¡± (Y) ¡°We¡¯re not here to play.¡± (S) ¡°Shim Hee-joo¡¯s sense of purpose is very clear.¡± (Y) ¡°This is the luggage.¡± (S) ¡°Is this all we need?¡± (Y) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) ¡¯Has Kim Yoon-hyeong could already guess what I¡¯m actually doing now.¡¯ There was no mover who was hastily packing the clothes, and neither was there was any other luggage that needed to be taken from the house besides these old unopened boxes that don¡¯t look important but also cannot be discarded that was supposed to be sent to the old house instead. That¡¯s actually why she decided to never let Yoon-hyeong guess anything strange, although if he knew about what was going on, he would definitely help her, she still doesn¡¯t think he could do any better. As Yoon-hyeong asked her lightly, she moved the boxes to the front door with him, following Yoon-hyeong, who was carrying her other luggage. Chapter 22 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 22 Yoon-heyong ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ She felt awkward because she felt that she was lying, but she didn¡¯t have the time to explain. Furthermore, she wouldn¡¯t be able to answer anything about how a pregnant woman could carry that much of a load. Fortunately, there wasn¡¯t much luggage from the beginning. After she stopped working, there was also the fact that almost all of her current casual clothes wouldn¡¯t be worn anymore and are going to be thrown away, therefore there were only a few clothes inside those boxes. ¡°What about the house? Will it be rented out?¡± (Y) ¡°Nobody asks about it yet anyway.¡± (S) ¡°It¡¯s been like this lately. Wait a minute¡ If you brought all these boxes in, then what if someone wants to rent it later?¡± (Y) ¡°I don¡¯t plan to rent it for the time being.¡± (S) ¡°Yeah what monthly rent do you need anyway? Do you even need more money from renting out?¡± (Y) While Yoon-hyeong was carrying the luggage and talking about how comfortable her life must be, she temporarily had other ideas. she realized that she almost took the car keys. The car was given by Woo Jin-ha, so it was a given that it should be returned to him. Then after she moved the boxes into the elevator one by one, she ran back into the house to leave the car keys on the dining table. The old car that she used to ride when she came to work in the company was disposed of after marriage. Nonetheless, she figured because she won¡¯t get any job right away, it would be inconvenient if there is no car. She put all the luggage into Yoon-hyeong¡¯s large SUV in the parking lot and sat in the passenger seat. Then she immediately said, ¡°Let¡¯s look at the car on our way¡± (S) ¡°Why do you need to see a car?¡± (Y) ¡°I want to buy a car¡± (S) ¡°Yeah¡the wife of the chaebol¡¯s family is really different. You¡¯re able to buy a car along the way to the old house now.¡± (Y) ¡°Crazy. It¡¯s not like that.¡± (S) ¡°Is 130 million too cheap?¡± (Y) ¡°No, just a regular car. An ordinary one.¡± (S) ¡°What¡¯s ordinary?¡± (Y) ¡°Like the car I had before.¡± (S) ¡°Do you want to go somewhere from the city? Pretend to blend in?¡± (Y) ¡°Just drive quietly.¡± (S) Looking at how he nodded, he must¡¯ve been thinking about some crazy wild imagination. Anyway, she would have to explain soon or later, but for now, she still wanted to just relax while looking at the scenery outside the car window to see the view since the season has passed a long time ago already. The sky between the high-rise buildings was cloudless, and the trees on the side of the street are thriving in their greenest periods. Unknowingly, the end of summer was near. That day in April when they got married was so beautiful. Just like her wish of how the distant future is waiting for them that day. She thought while closing her eyes. But their marriage could only last one summer. Her wishes never came true. The weather was still hot, and the old six-story apartment had no elevator, so it was quite hard to move the luggage. She kept on bringing her luggage one by one continuously, climbing the stairs. Each time she wanted to say some excuse about being pregnant, but now that she had wanted to say something, it was impossible how sweaty she got while climbing the stairs. Hence, she wasn¡¯t able to say any excuse. Yoon-hyeong moved the boxes two to three times and was able to finish the work quickly. In fact, we they put them randomly inside the house, then they went around a few nearby car dealerships to see cars. She laughed a lot unlike before. It felt very refreshing. Finally, when the contract was signed, she got exactly the same type of car as my previous old small car. Although she was scolded by Yoon-hyeong for buying it. But she felt more familiar with everything in it since she had used it for a long time before. In that way, it feels like she actually had gone back to how she was before. ¡°Is it going to be ready from the shop next week?¡± (S) ¡°Yeah. Next Wednesday.¡± (Y) Back to the apartment, Yoon-hyeong parked, and they came to the restaurant where they used to go to eat with their parents. Before Yoon-hyeong entered the restaurant, she felt his look on her, so she tried to smile happier. Anyway, no matter where she went, she thought of her parents. Although it had been a long time since they had passed away and the only place she could return to was the house they had left behind. At least there were a lot of precious memories here. So, it should be no problem at all. ¡°Would you like to drink?¡± (S) ¡°Are you crazy?¡± (Y) Yoon-hyeong was stunned at once. ¡°What about the child?¡± (Y) ¡°It¡¯s gone now.¡± (S) ¡°¡ What?¡± (Y) Judging by his expression, he certainly wanted to say ¡°Have you gone crazy now?¡±. Kim Yoon-hyeong really was looking at her like she was crazy. He ended up dipping the chopsticks into the mayonnaise, which came out as a side dish, instead of saying sorry like he was planning to. ¡°Really you have no eyes. You don¡¯t even realize it when you look at my stomach earlier.¡± (S) ¡°¡I haven¡¯t seen your belly before this. I thought it was just that your belly hasn¡¯t shown yet¡ No, fuck, this isn¡¯t important¡ No, I shouldn¡¯t swear¡¡± (Y) Since he knew that she was pregnant, Kim Yoon-hyeong has always endured several swear words that he often used, now he could only hold it in continuously. He endured it for nearly half a year, which was a lot of endurance. ¡°Is it an accident¡ How it happen? Are you okay?¡± (Y) ¡°I¡¯m fine. It¡¯s fine.¡± (S) There are of course some after-effects, but he won¡¯t notice because it wasn¡¯t so obvious after all. ¡°¡Fuck, no wonder you look like¡¡± (Y) ¡°I don¡¯t mean to say anything about my complexion. You¡¡± (S) ¡°And that kind of thing aside, what is it all about today then?¡± (Y) ¡°I¡¯m in a hurry.¡± (S) ¡°Then what¡¯s the rush¡ Is related to the lie about having use the room for the child?¡± (Y) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) Chapter 23 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 23 It¡¯s Gone ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Yoon-hyeong kept on asking, she just answered calmly, from outside, they didn¡¯t look like they were talking about miserable things. Even after their order of glutinous rice already arrived. Neitherof them picked up their chopsticks yet. ¡°Why the hell does it have to be today?¡± (Y) ¡°It must be done today.¡± (S) ¡°¡Yes, if it¡¯s you¡ an accident? What¡ What actually happened¡ How could this happen? Last month¡ didn¡¯t you say that the child is still healthy at that time?¡± (Y) ¡°Yeah. Very healthy.¡± (S) ¡°But-¡± (Y) ¡°-But¡ It happened so suddenly.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (Y) ¡°It seemed that no one wanted to stay by my side. Nobody.¡± (S) ¡°Hee-joo.¡± (Y) ¡°Mom too¡ Also, Dad¡¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (Y) ¡°Hee-shin too.¡± (S) Whenever she talked about him, her tongue always felt heavy like a stone. She was an older sister who had never felt sorry for her younger brother who had died at such a young age. She didn¡¯t want Yoon-hyeong to notice her sadness, so she looked down. Her brother had died at the age of six back when she was still thirteen years old. When her brother died, her whole family seemed to also die along with him as well. All of their happiness died along with those memories as well. They never felt happy again. There would be no more cherished memories. A mother who never laughed again and Dad who didn¡¯t love her anymore. Time passed by since then, but they were still the same deep inside, of course sometimes they did laugh again, even though she felt that her parents were reduced to nothing but merely shells. Time seems to stop on the day her brother died as if they were unable to return to reality anymore. How could she dare to complain? She didn¡¯t even know how. But still, at that time the world around her seemed to have fallen into chaos, suffering alone thinking that she was treated unfairly. When the brother who she hated was dead. She unconsciously felt guilty, kept on having a dream where she could still see him again. A dream where he was still alive. As she was nothing but a child, she couldn¡¯t immediately be aware of her guilt, in turn, her personality changed. She slowly became a cynical child instead, often angering her grandma to no end. At that time, it seems that the misfortune of the whole world has come to her. Hee-shin died while she was still alive. She was desperately in need of an adult figure¡ so she would feel lonely every time she saw the view of their back. Furthermore, she didn¡¯t know what¡¯s on her parents¡¯ hearts at all. There were times when it seemed like they did not know each other at all. She now understood the sorrow her mother felt when Hee-shin died. It took a long time to truly comprehend her sorrow at that time, but now she knows. If the child was born safely, would she be able to sit in this restaurant laughing on the next day after the baby who was supposed to be home, from the day she said ¡®mom¡¯, learned how to walk, waved her hand at her from the entrance of the kindergarten, suddenly died before her after she gave me all those precious days? Could she even dare to think that she¡¯d be able to continue living like she used to? But even though she was able to understand the pain now, she still didn¡¯t fully understand her mother¡¯s heart. ¡°Don¡¯t say such a nonsense words. It was so dreadful for you as well.¡± (Y) ¡°I know.¡± (S) Treat her with a terrible heart. Mom¡¯s feelings of persistence for her since that day¡ For her, everything is just not thinking. She swallowed the emptiness in my stomach feebly. The same as her sorrowful heart. The same broken heart that Mom had endured for her sake after that day. She could not even be confident to be able to do it as she did. All she could do now was try to swallow this emptiness inside helplessly. ¡°Your good brother is still here.¡± (Y) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) ¡°This forever alone guy is still here.¡± (Y) ¡°Ok.¡± (S) ¡°Your best friend since college¡± (Y) ¡°Okay. Stop repeating it.¡± (S) ¡°Don¡¯t worry about the alcohol, eat lots of meat as you like.¡± (Y) ¡°You must¡¯ve been very busy recently, because of me, you¡¯ve wasted a whole day. I¡¯m sorry.¡± (S) ¡°Forget it. It wasn¡¯t the first time that you used me to settle your matters¡¡± (Y) ¡°Yes. The mighty guardian. Kim Yoon-hyeong.¡± (S) Yoon-hyeong just laughed at her comment. ¡°You knew this was bound to happen a long time ago. You lack the ability to tame that boy Jin-ha. I originally thought I was already handsome. Of course, compared to that boy¡¡± (Y) ¡°You think you¡¯re any better?¡± (S) ¡°I¡¯m still considered a fairly good catch to others. Of course, there¡¯s nothing to see if you look at me at this moment.¡± (Y) ¡°No way. There¡¯s a lot who chased you now, is it?¡± (S) She retorted mischievously, while Yoon-hyeong scowled at her. ¡°Your husband never liked me very much.¡± (Y) Then he threw an unexpected line. She was vaguely aware of it too. And she still couldn¡¯t understand the reason why either. Although Kim Yoon-hyeong has a face that most women typically would love, usually men also generally would have a certain degree of great favorability towards him since long ago. There are lots of other fellow alumni with whom he has been close due to his friendliness. He even still often gathered together with them even together with each of their own spouses, having fun, drinking, and chatting. It was unknown how he did it, but he has a certain charm that made people want to be around him. Of course, there were always a few of those who were annoyed by him, though they were mostly despicable people, but even then, is there really anything in Yoon-hyeong that could possibly cause such intense dislike? ¡°No. He rather thinks well of you.¡± (S) ¡°Why do you still want to tell a lie? It was so obvious how he showed his dislike.¡± (Y) ¡°That¡¯s true.¡± (S) She chuckled and stayed quiet, and she then felt Kim Yoon-hyeong¡¯s eyes on her. There was a piece of meat on the plate. This kind of shameless behavior could make even a child be ashamed more so as an adult who should know better than to do this. Chapter 24 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 24 Casually ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Yes¡ Do you want to drink more? No. Don¡¯t drink. Right? Not allowed. When¡¡± (Y) She guessed he wanted to know about the accident, but couldn¡¯t quite get the question out. ¡°Yesterday.¡± (S) ¡°¡ What?¡± (Y) ¡°It happened yesterday.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (Y) ¡°I had the miscarriage yesterday¡± (S) ¡°¡Are you crazy? But you¡ Ah really, Shim Hee-joo. I¡¯m going insane¡ Why would you directly move out the next day plus even carrying that luggage of yours earlier?¡± (Y) ¡°Aren¡¯t you the one who moved most of it though?¡± (S) ¡°¡you¡ really, I don¡¯t even know how to scold you, what was that boy was doing¡ Your husband¡ what did he say?¡± (Y) ¡°He said, there will be no divorce.¡± (S) ¡°What does that mean?¡± (Y) ¡°I told him I want a divorce.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (Y) ¡°He said no. That bastard.¡± (S) Kim Yoon-hyeong was speechless. He merely unconsciously swallowed a few more pieces of meat, kept chewing it, but still said nothing, simply looked at her quietly, then once again continued to put a few pieces of meat into his mouth, chewed and swallowed several times before finally stared at her and asked. ¡°Speak from the beginning¡± (Y) ¡°Can¡¯t repeat anymore.¡± (S) ¡°Shim Hee-joo¡± (Y) ¡°I really can¡¯t take it anymore. Yoon-hyeong¡¡± (S) ¡°¡ So, you actually hate that son of a bitch when you got married?¡± (Y) She didn¡¯t know as if it was expected but suddenly the name ¡®Woo Jin-ha¡¯ was downgraded to ¡®that son of a bitch¡¯ all at once. If it was before, she wouldn¡¯t allow him to be called like that, but now she didn¡¯t know whether to be mad or not. ¡°No. I loved him.¡± (S) ¡°Ah, now you¡¯ve done it. Look at you now. That was one hell of a shit.¡± (Y) ¡°That¡¯s why it¡¯s so laughable¡. My life has become like a piece of shit.¡± (S) ¡°More like it got fucked.¡± (Y) ¡°What should I do¡ Yoon-hyeong.¡± (S) ¡°What else to do? You want to divorce, and he won¡¯t give a divorce, then go file a lawsuit. Would you like to be introduced to the lawyer that this brother knows of?¡± (Y) ¡°Could the lawyer you know win¡¡± (S) ¡°Let¡¯s think more about it later¡¡± (Y) ¡°We should go to see the car later, I need to buy some furniture first.¡± (S) ¡°What happened to the furniture?¡± (Y) ¡°I want to move to my old home. Then looking for a job again¡¡± (S) ¡°¡How could you live there¡¡± (Y) There is an unsaid word in Yoon-hyeong¡¯s sentence. A reminder of her thorns. Gimpo¡¯s home has memories of the best period in her life as well as the worst period. She had wandered around ever since she left that house. A very peaceful journey. Like becoming a new person¡ That was before she met Woo Jin-ha. ¡°¡ If I go home now. I don¡¯t know what we are going to quarrel about again.¡± (S) ¡°Don¡¯t quarrel.¡± (Y) ¡°¡¡.¡± ¡°What did that bastard say?¡± (Y) ¡°He doesn¡¯t want to divorce¡¡± (S) ¡°No, not that. Before that happened¡ What did he do wrong?¡± (Y) ¡°Nothing¡¯s wrong. He didn¡¯t do anything.¡± (S) ¡°You love him so disgustingly deep, so something must¡¯ve happened for you to be tired. So, what happened?¡± (Y) Although her eyes felt hot, there were no tears. Because she already stopped crying, she finally could talk about what had happened yesterday. It took no less than 5 sentences to explain what happened yesterday morning. Also, Woo Jin-ha was very indifferent during that period. She loves that person, but that person didn¡¯t love her, so of course, it was already expected¡ Yoon-hyeong was so infuriated while merely stared at her in silence. ¡°Yeah. Lawyer. Let me take care of the cost. Woo Jin-ha. That fucking son of a bitch. Bird shit guy¡¡± (Y) ¡°I have my own money too.¡± (S) ¡°What do you have that money for then? Do it now then. You¡this insane¡. What did you do yesterday? Still didn¡¯t call me¡ª¡± (Y) ¡°I felt embarrassed. Since my husband wasn¡¯t home¡ And to suddenly have you come, even if you¡¯re my best friend¡¡± (S) ¡°¡¡.¡± (Y) ¡°I know it was stupid.¡± (S) It never crossed her mind at all because she did not want to meet anybody, even her childhood friend while wearing a skirt completely soaked with blood. But now she knew if she could¡¯ve just told him, even when she thought no one would care, he definitely would. She didn¡¯t like the fact that she was no better than Woo Jin-ha. ¡°Anyway, I want to divorce first. It could be because that person felt a bit prideful right now or there is a situation where both of us mustn¡¯t get divorce for the time being¡¡± (S) ¡°So, what if it is indeed something? Are you just going to let it slide?¡± Even if she knew he still wouldn¡¯t tolerate it, what would Yoon-hyeong call Woo Jin-ha? Somehow, she blankly imagined there would be more swearing than just ¡®son of a bitch¡¯. ¡°No, I just wanted to get out of the house as soon as possible. Of course, I wanted to divorce. But now I pretended that I wasn¡¯t well, and just moved out of the house.¡± (S) ¡°You¡¯ll just be dragged back again if you go on like this. I know you so well. This is the first time you¡¯ve been completely charmed by a man.¡± (Y) ¡°I won¡¯t change my mind.¡± (S) ¡°No. Complete madness.¡± (Y) She oddly agreed with his sentence of her being complete madness. Yup. Even madness couldn¡¯t fully explain this. ¡°Ha¡ The furniture store is closed. It¡¯s useless if it is open. Even if you ordered the furniture like one ordered fried noodles, those things won¡¯t be ready for you right away¡¡± (Y) ¡°I know.¡± (S) ¡°What the hell are you¡ why didn¡¯t you tell me sooner? The day is already gone.¡± (Y) ¡°It¡¯s okay. I¡¯ll just sleep on the floor.¡± (S) ¡°Nothing in the house? Not even a blanket?¡± (Y) ¡°It is summer now¡¡± (S) ¡°¡this is crazy¡ Just go to my mother¡¯s house to sleep then.¡± (Y) Yoon-hyeong¡¯s parents, who were close to her family, got divorced when they were both still in high school. Yoon-hyeong¡¯s father left the house and left Yoon-hyeong with his mother, just like that, their dispute came to an end. So, to this day Yoon-hyeong¡¯s mother is still living in Gimpo. Thinking of the warm familiar face she once loved, she immediately refused. ¡°Ah, no.¡± (S) ¡°Why? My mother likes you.¡± (Y) ¡°I like Auntie too¡± (S) ¡°So¡¡± (Y) ¡°Because it¡¯s embarrassing to see Auntie¡¡± (S) ¡°What¡¯s this nonsense that makes you refuse to meet everyone that you know of? Didn¡¯t my mother also get divorced.¡± (Y) To casually say ¡°My mother had a divorce¡± is so like him who often said every day ever since they were a child that ¡®there was never anything that¡¯s too complicated¡¯¡ Chapter 25 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 25 Come Out ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°Give me the reason.¡± (Y) ¡°¡Auntie will be crushed. Just when I could finally get married¡ In the end my marriage was merely a sham.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (Y) ¡°His parents despised me, my child is gone, and my husband bullied me.¡± (S) ¡°Ok.¡± (Y) ¡°You bully me too¡¡± (S) ¡°Enough. Forget it. Then I¡¯ll go home and get you a blanket. Just sleep like this today then let¡¯s go to IKEA tomorrow.¡± (Y) ¡°Let¡¯s go? Are you going too?¡± (S) ¡°If not, what are you planning to do with your body like that?¡± (Y) ¡°I won¡¯t sleep with you¡± (S) ¡°Who said we would sleep together? You¡¯re obviously still a married woman¡ I, of course, will go home to sleep.¡± (Y) ¡°Alright.¡± (S) ¡°See, I¡¯ll show you. I know lots of stuff too.¡± (Y) ¡°Ok.¡± (S) ¡°Is it okay if you don¡¯t clean it? The previous tenant must¡¯ve left it in a mess when they moved out. Do you need anything at home?¡± (Y) ¡°It won¡¯t take long to move in and clean. It won¡¯t be too difficult.¡± (S) While Yoon-hyeong finished the rice, she got more scolding from him. She was afraid that she would vomit it out in front of him. She was rather comfortable not eating too much, scared she¡¯d vomit again if she ate too much later on. Out of the restaurant, after passing by a familiar intersection, they returned to the apartment. Yoon-hyeong insisted on dropping her off back to the house, and then went to his own house to get the blanket. On the way back, he bought a bunch of biscuits that she used to like when she was a kid at the convenience store. Kim Yoon-hyeong stayed for an hour and a half, but she reluctantly forgot about his share of the biscuits. She had to finish it anyway. Surprisingly, when she snuck a piece of biscuit in, it wasn¡¯t as disgusting as she previously thought. She sent Yoon-hyeong out then opened the window a bit wider. The night¡¯s cool breeze blew in. The sound of the cicadas could still be heard from here. On the fifth floor of this six-story apartment that has no elevators. Even though today was very exhausting, she looked forward to this second new start. After her family moved to this house, Dad¡¯s career expanded by leaps and bounds, and they lived here since then. Furthermore, her parents love this house. After they started to live here, everything seemed to go smoothly, just like an enchanted house. ¡®¡. Why would I want to live over there?¡¯ That¡¯s right. The superb bed to lie down, dining table, and all other necessities of life meant nothing. The thing inside those boxes that she brought, could also be easily purchased anywhere she goes. Rather, since she doesn¡¯t have anything that¡¯s consumable here, it is a little impossible to live here at this moment. Of course, that does not mean that this old house is insignificant or has nothing. It¡¯s just that she often had those nightmares before. ¡®Am I still going to dream of Hee-shin?¡¯ The strange thing is that the people that she loves all appear in that nightmares. Hee-shin even mom and dad¡ All appeared exactly at this moment where she felt like she won¡¯t be able to recover, continuously feeling lost and weak. Her family always came in those nightmares. But now it¡¯s ok. Anyway, her life is not a very good dream¡ So, it¡¯s not bad to be back and live in this home again. She then closed the door so that the room located further behind could not be seen. Now she needs to take her wallet from the bag and go to the supermarket to buy a few things that she needs. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. The only person who came to this house was Yoon-hyeong, so she spoke loudly towards the door, thinking maybe he missed something earlier. ¡°Is there anything you left behind?¡± (S) She went to open the door while throwing the question as she walked towards it. But then she felt strange because even after she asked there was still no answer from outside the door. And the moment she opened the door¡ª A force suddenly came, pushing the door wide open from the outside. ¡°Get your bags and come out.¡± (J) Woo Jin-ha coldly stood in front of the door. ¡°Go away.¡± (S) As soon as she was about to close the door, his hand reached inside the door. She didn¡¯t want to consciously stop for fear of him getting hurt, but still she stopped closing the door, feeling angry at herself. It was because of him. ¡°Are you kidding me right now?¡± (J) ¡°Does it look like a joke?¡± (S) ¡°It should be said that it is better to be joking.¡± (J) ¡°What-¡± (S) ¡°-I saw Kim Yoon-hyeong.¡± (J) She frowned silently. Woo Jin-ha simply pushed his arm forward, opened the door, and walked into the narrow entrance. Maybe he thinks rather than waiting for her to go out by herself, it¡¯d be better to take her out by himself directly instead. ¡°Either let me in or come out with me.¡± (J) ¡°¡I¡¯ll come out¡± (S) It would be worse to bring him into the house. Although this house is so scary that she dares not to live in it for a while, it is also a place full of memories with her family. If they were still alive, they surely wouldn¡¯t have liked Woo Jin-ha too much. She went back empty-handed for the bag. Meanwhile, at the same time, he pushed the old door further and came in. Looking around, his eyes looked calmly at her figure who was walking back towards the entrance. In that instant, her face was frowning. ¡°I never said you could come in¡± (S) ¡°Is this the place where you lived with your parents when you were young?¡± (J) He asked casually. Not even willing to answer, she brushed past him and walked through the hall. Woo Jin-ha just stared towards her standing quietly in an awkward position and the messy box. ¡°These luggages are the things that we never get a chance to unpack for months.¡± (J) ¡°¡Let¡¯s go now. I¡¯ve found my bag.¡± (S) ¡°Planning to come back here later after we come out.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°You have such a place to go back to, so are you planning on showing it to me later on?¡± (J) ¡°This house is as you¡¯ve already seen so far.¡± (S) Chapter 26 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 26 Joke ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ He merely stood there, staring at her, and she grew anxious with this silence that followed. Then after some time, Woo Jin-ha carefully approached her as though she was a frightened animal, seemingly concerned that she¡¯d run away at any moment. He took her bag away before she realized what was going on. And as if to see what¡¯s inside the bag- whether there¡¯s anything that he could take to hold her with him, he then put it down after checking the bag very thoroughly. ¡°Cannot even tell if you¡¯re really going out.¡± (J) ¡°¡. What do you think you¡¯re doing?¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s what I wanted to find out.¡± (J) In normal time, the fact that she didn¡¯t even bother to carry a small wallet that contained her ID and a credit card inside, already looked a bit unusual. But in Woo Jin-ha¡¯s lean hands, those particular things become glaringly obvious. After being reassured that there were several 50,000 won banknotes inside, he then put them back into the bag. ¡°So you did hold the phone with you but just deliberately did not answer any call.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡..¡± (S) ¡°Your wallet seems to have been missing somewhere too. Even if you don¡¯t carry it, you could lose it later on¡¡± (J) ¡°Give it back to me.¡± (S) ¡°No.¡± (J) He calmly faced her hostile gaze while shortening their distance. ¡°It looks very suspicious of you. Yes, it is.¡± (J) ¡°Jin-ha¡± (S) ¡°If I forcibly hold on to you, maybe you wouldn¡¯t even think about running away from our house ever again.¡± (J) The bag was then clutched against his chest. ¡°So, where should I hide you?¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) For a moment she thought she heard it wrong. Doubting her own ears, she looked at him unaware when he pressed his lips against her neck. He bit the skin on her neck and sucked on it. Teeth marks could be seen on her tender flesh, then his lips moved to her chin while he smiled slightly. ¡°It¡¯s a joke.¡± (J) ¡°..¡ drop dead.¡± (S) ¡°Just like how you¡¯re making a joke, I was just kidding too.¡± (J) ¡°You think I¡¯m joking with you¡.?!¡± (S) ¡°If this wasn¡¯t a joke, then I wasn¡¯t joking about this either.¡± (J) (T/N: wtf lol????) ¡°¡¡..¡± (S) ¡°So, consider it carefully.¡± (J) ¡°Threatening me now?¡± (S) ¡°Did I say that? I was merely following your action. Secretary Choi and the driver will be here in 5 minutes. Go and get your luggage.¡± (J) ¡°Mr. Woo Jin-ha.¡± (S) ¡°To be honest, if you weren¡¯t so stubborn, it would¡¯ve been easier and there won¡¯t be any need for me to pressure you either.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡..¡± (S) ¡°So, this is just me, informing you in advance. Since you are now a patient.¡± (J) The hand stroking her hair down to her ear feels very gentle. What he is doing now is not a threat, but merely warning me in advance¡ This Woo Jin-ha was very arrogant but considerate at the same time. Although this behavior of his was a bit odd, at the same time looked sincerely serious as well. Just like having a few different masks on. ¡°Everything has its place. The same goes for people.¡± (J) Looks like she no longer could provoke him today. Although seeing him being this angry to the point of acting so despicable, it would¡¯ve been more correct to say she felt a bit confused. Because no matter what, there won¡¯t be a bad outcome for him. ¡°¡How did you know that Yoon-hyeong was here?¡± (S) ¡°I saw both of you walk in together and I saw him bringing back a blanket, then he went inside again, and I also saw when he finally came out after staying in for a long time.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡..¡± (S) ¡°Ah. Also, when his car stopped at the parking lot.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡¡± (S) ¡°So, I¡¯ve been here for a long time already.¡± (J) He has more eyes and ears because he got money. Like a shadow, she had never even noticed it either. Maybe it would be the last time Yoon-hyeong could go out of this house under his watchful eyes. She occasionally thought that he had this unyielding wall of control. Well, aside from her that is, nonetheless, in almost every situation that had happened. He was indeed a man capable of solving any problem only by predicting and preparing for any possibilities in advance. Because of that she was the only crack in his wall and she had thought that he loves her albeit in his own creepy way, so although she felt happy, she was also frightened, so he rejected me. But in the end, she was only a small fragment in the lowest place within his solid wall. (T/N: This is, uh, a bit tricky paragraph, she is telling that Jin-ha has a strong wall of control- takes proper decisions, predicts the correct things etc. The crack is him sleeping with her. So coz of that crack he rejected (was indifferent) towards her but she is just a small crack at the lowest part of that wall, so she isn¡¯t noticeable) So, it¡¯s safe at all times, and she is not too scared now. He had no doubts about her, and he didn¡¯t put his heart on her, thinking that he was betrayed. (T/N: doubts that she is having affair) So, this was great and wasn¡¯t too frightening now. Because, he never placed his heart on her enough to make him feel betrayed, so he won¡¯t ever chase her enough while feeling betrayed by her. In fact, all the people in his family are like that. They acted like mentally ill, continuously doubting each other, probing, and watching each other. Even though to plant several people, in the pretext of good intent, to monitor others like a CCTV. She was glad to see how insane he was, being so delighted, even felt it was his way of caring about her, happily accepting to be exposed to that kind of miserable family practice. But then he may instead include her as a person who he has to be on guard against. He must¡¯ve been watching her sometimes, being briefed by his people. She was even sure that he was actually aware of what¡¯s going on. As Yoon-hyeong said, she is a totally insane kid. That¡¯s why she got punished like this. Seeing Secretary Choi and the driver finally arrive, Woo Jin-ha then held her then walked down the apartment. She wondered that she must¡¯ve looked like a dog that had run away from home. -End of Chapter 2- Chapter 27 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 27 Everytime ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ 3. Sculpture That day she returned to the house where they lived and lay down like the previous day. She looked at the darkness with open eyes for a long time and saw him sleeping with an even breath next to her side. When she was in an unstable mood because of hormones before, she sometimes burst into tears just by looking at his sleeping face. Everything was overwhelming, and then suddenly it was good at that time. No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn¡¯t accept it, and then she felt like crying again. Ignoring his cold side because he doesn¡¯t love her, she thought she would fall off the edge of the cliff again in one night, just reflecting on the fact that ¡°their¡± child was in her womb, that he was lying next to her, and that he was her husband. With the feeling like she¡¯s about to lose everything. No different like that of a crazy woman. It does indeed. Even right now, she was standing on the edge of a cliff. He¡¯s still lying by her side, but the man she saw that day is no longer there. Looking at him now, there¡¯s no more foolish heart in her. And yet, it¡¯s a pity that she is still in love. A pity that she was sitting still in a car where he forced her to ride on to and still loving him despite everything when she finally calmed down. She waited for a long time until dawn. A day has passed , albeit still very early in the morning. She felt so calm today that it felt strange. She washed her face and walked to the kitchen to make coffee. It didn¡¯t take much time, but as she didn¡¯t have the energy to stand and wait, she took a seat at the table. She could barely pick up her cell phone and sent a message of apology to Yoon-hyeong. The last action drained all the energy left in her body. In fact, it was strange how in Gimpo, she was ridiculously energetic as if she was on drugs. It¡¯s more like how the mind manipulates the body. She belatedly felt that she should have really been hospitalized for a few more days as recommended. It was cold even though she turned off the air conditioner. The stomachache, which had been felt from time to time during the night, felt like something was cutting off her lower abdomen fiercely. The pain penetrated her back instantaneously. She felt lightheaded. She grinded her teeth while grabbing her forehead in her hand. My Legs felt awkward and stiff like cheap dolls. It was like being paralysed. Fortunately, blood never showed up since last night. Nonetheless, whenever it hurts more than this, she just needs to sit down right away. As she heard from the hospital, the surgery went very well and her uterus is in a state of bloody perfect recovery. A woman will be fine if she gets married earlier compared to other women, since a woman will be better if she could get pregnant sooner. Meaning, how miraculously lucky she was . Like she should¡¯ve cried in gratitude instead. She thought sneering while swallowing the prescribed medicine and painkillers in her empty stomach and waited for the pills to work its wonder. These painkillers were strong pills that her doctor gave strictly to use only when she was absolutely tired. It still felt painful for my fingers to touch anything, so she tried to clench and stretched it weakly under the table. It felt like there¡¯s a heavy-weight hanging from her limb, which felt different from her own. Of course, it is nothing compared to the heaviness in her chest. Even though her breasts looked small as usual on the surface, in reality, it was as if two sacks full of stones were hung on them instead. Her heart ached as if the stones were constantly knocking into each other within. Her body, which naturally thought that she had given birth yesterday, is now starting to produce some milk little by little. The child is dead and gone, but her breasts are ready for breast-feeding. Thinking about it made her laugh. After wiping away a few drops of tears, she let her hands hang still again. The coffee is prepared. However, she didn¡¯t even fetch a cup while waiting for it. It¡¯s more like she didn¡¯t even think to do it. Instead, she merely smelled the fragrant coffee while staring around the house. Unlike the bedroom, where only little light came through the gap between the blackout curtains, the outside of the bedroom has now revealed its shape with clear brightness. And of course, everything was the same. It was like she was mocking myself. Today, yesterday, yesterday, yesterday, today. But no matter what she does, she can¡¯t beat him for making fun of her. She saw Woo Jin-ha coming out of the bedroom as she stared around the house. He passed me by without saying much. Then he brought coffee and put it in front, and sat across from her. Still, there is nothing much to say. Distorted hair. Comfortable outfit just out of bed. It¡¯s a new impression of him that she has seen since they got married. Him, with a pair of eyes completely unlike a man who¡¯d just woke up. ¡°Aren¡¯t you going to drink?¡± (J) ¡°Did I wake you up?¡± (S) ¡°No.¡± (J) ¡°You should have slept more. You still have time until you go to the gym.¡± (S) His eyes narrowed as if to see what was on her mind. You¡¯re the one who doesn¡¯t know what¡¯s on my mind inside. She lowered her eyes and started drinking coffee. ¡°Body.¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s all right.¡± (S) ¡°Sleep?¡± (J) ¡°I slept well.¡± (S) ¡°Feeling.¡± (J) ¡°All right.¡± (S) ¡°Every time you open your mouth, you are lying¡.¡± (J) He murmured impassively. She didn¡¯t even want to sit facing each other anymore, so she grabbed her coffee and threw it on the sink without saying anything. When she turned around, she saw Woo Jin-ha looking at the painkiller pill-shell on the table. She wanted to go somewhere else because she didn¡¯t like the topic that would lead to the medicine and she didn¡¯t want to see his face pretending to be worried about her. And so, she moved her stiff legs towards the garden next to the living room. Chapter 28 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 28 Relief ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Earlier, Shim Hee-joo couldn¡¯t even lift a finger, but now she has enough strength maybe because of how quickly she was able to take medication or if she was just supported by a momentarily minor evil. As she entered the garden and tried to close the door hard behind her back, Woo Jin-ha who followed her, pulled the door open again and followed her in. ¡°¡Should I go back in?¡± (S) ¡°No.¡± (J) His answer wasn¡¯t important anyway. She ignored his answer and returned to the living room. As expected, he just followed after her. It wasn¡¯t just her feeling, it was obvious that he was following her around. ¡°Why do you keep following me since dawn?¡± (S) He thought for a moment as if he didn¡¯t know the words were directed at him, belatedly realizing and said, ¡°Oh.¡± (J) It was so absurd, causing her to belatedly respond back after a while. ¡°¡Isn¡¯t it time for you to go to the gym soon?¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s right.¡± (J) She sat on the sofa and turned on the TV right away. She could feel him sitting next to her a little further away from where she sat. His action completely contradicted his answer. ¡°Won¡¯t you go to the gym?¡± (S) ¡°Yes.¡± (J) ¡°What¡¯s wrong with you?¡± (S) ¡°I thought you would be gone again.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s why I¡¯m asking you to hold on for a while.¡± (J) The way he said it with a calm and even voice, makes her feel like it was a simple matter. In fact, it was laughable that he actually tried to pretend and act like a child who was worried about her mother¡¯s disappearance with such a dull, cold, and indifferent face. Thus, she just continued to ignore him and kept changing the channels, but nothing caught her eye. He seemed to think so too, since all he had been doing was just looking at her face. She then stood up after sitting idle for a while, looking at a documentary on TV to which she was not particularly interested in. ¡°I¡¯ll prepare a meal. So go and get ready for work now.¡± (S) Being with him has proven to be harmful in many senses. But not to the point of changing her mind, more like she felt time stood unpleasantly still instead . So she couldn¡¯t wait to be away from him. And as if not caring about her blatant intentions, he persistently followed. ¡°Don¡¯t do that. Something like that.¡± (J) ¡°If I don¡¯t, who will?¡± (S) ¡°I¡¯ll do it.¡± (J) Hearing that, she was dumbfounded and actually wanted to laugh her head off. Soon after catching up with her in the kitchen, he then stopped her. ¡°Go wash up.¡± (S) ¡°You want to send me away so soon?¡± (J) ¡°Honestly, yes.¡± (S) ¡°Since you¡¯re lying, I¡¯ll take it as you lied about that.¡± (J) ¡°I don¡¯t really want to see your face.¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s it? You just don¡¯t want to see me for a while right?¡± (J) ¡°Not really.¡± (S) She has seen his face before anyway. No matter how much she longed for itbefore. And since it was the case then she doesn¡¯t want to see him anymore. ¡°I don¡¯t want to see you at all .¡± (S) ¡°I can¡¯t listen to that.¡± (J) When she saw his determined figure. She wondered how stubborn he could be, even though it started to look as if she were looking at an immature child instead. He no longer looked like the perfect adult man as he used to be. He must¡¯ve been a little embarrassed right now. He was actually beaten in the back of his head by a woman he was looking down upon. Plus maybe with a strange sense of compassion attached as well, a perfunctory guilt about the child. She won¡¯t even try to put it into words to convince how good it is for him anymore, whatever it is. So now she just thinks they need a little more time. That¡¯s all. It was only a matter of time after all. Then he¡¯d come back to his senses after saying that he made a mistake once in a while. Exactly like that haunted morning . Thinking about what happened last night, it might be better to wait patiently than to scratch and stimulate that judgement. Do what he wants, until he comes back to his senses. However, the sadistic thought of wanting to scratch the arrogant and iron-like hard judgement also raised its head. She wanted to shout that she hated him so much that she couldn¡¯t stand it. ¡®Cause even if it¡¯s a lie it¡¯s fine.¡¯ Either way, however, is left to the imagination. Neither do evil nor remain completely innocent. Just stubbornness, just reality. She was just like that, Shim Hee-joo. ¡°Oh, and I¡¯m not going to work today.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) I stared at him like I had eyes on the back of his head. ¡°I¡¯ll be home all day, so hang in there.¡± (J) ¡°Jin-ha-ssi¡± (S) ¡°It¡¯s a runaway punishment.¡± (J) So, it seems that he will monitor her right in front of him. It was so ridiculous and stupid that she couldn¡¯t believe it came out of his mouth that she laughed without realizing it. ¡°I¡¯m not running away. You came like that yesterday.¡± (S) ¡°Would you believe me?¡± (J) ¡°Believe it or not, if I were you, I wouldn¡¯t waste that kind of time.¡± (J) He ignored her advice and briefly prepared breakfast. She was forced into seating. The scrambled eggs smelled a little disgusting like two months ago when she felt like vomiting when she smelled eggs. It¡¯s amazing that her body is still acting like it has morning sickness. She only took a few bites of toast. He frowned, perhaps noticing that she had finished her meal in an instant. ¡°Have some more.¡± (J) ¡°I can¡¯t eat it.¡± (S) ¡°Are you going to starve to death?¡± (J) ¡°I don¡¯t plan on it, but I¡¯d rather do it now than eat it. I haven¡¯t had eggs since I had morning sickness.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (J) ¡°That¡¯s still the case.¡± (S) He looked surprised for a moment as he had never heard of it before, and then became expressionless again. ¡°I didn¡¯t know.¡± (J) There was a brief period of time when she taunted the back of his head when he got home from work without him noticing it. She used to tell him a funny story about how he had to recall everything he ate just by smelling the omelets he passed by in the restaurant. She liked eggs the most, and as such she complained that there was no other tragedy like this. Until he rushes at her as if all he wants is her body. There were quite a few days like that. Then one day she just stopped saying anything and waited for him to run. They only had sex. She liked having sex with him, but wantedmore than that, it was the only thing she had been able to do with him since they got married. Of course, she also liked the moment he dug into her body very carefully. They haven¡¯t actually had sex quite like that for a few times since they found out she was pregnant. There were a lot of relationships that didn¡¯t even lead to insertion, and she felt sorry for that, but she found it sweet. He thinks of her and cherishes her on the grounds that just inserting into her body and ejaculating is not the standard of sex. Tenaciously biting and being quick is probably like love. On the other hand, it seems that he has fallen in love with her to the point that he wants to keep wanting her even after being pregnant. She was happy to think that way, and she could do anything for him. When he was satisfied with her service, She felt proud, as if it was of great value. She felt relieved and anxious about this marriage. The relief she feels while sucking her husband¡¯s genitals is, of course, an illusion that disappears before the night is over. Chapter 29 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 29 Destructive Thoughts ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Shim Hee-joo had been repeating stupid things by spreading her legs and giving out her chest to fill her anxiety because she always wanted to live in a dream. She can¡¯t believe that herself, who had only given up her body with such a stupid dream, looked at his back and thought, she was better than the one she worked for at one point. Now, while listening to the reply that he didn¡¯t know. It wasn¡¯t the first time Woo Jin-ha had heard it, but she didn¡¯t bother to tell him about it. She can¡¯t be happy to let him know that she wasn¡¯t that big of a deal. ¡°I need to wash up.¡± (S) ¡°Okay.¡± (J) Maybe because he saw her vomit yesterday, he didn¡¯t stop her from getting up, despite his displeasure. She hadn¡¯t slept all night, and her body was drenched in extreme fatigue, yet she did not sleep. As her energy circulated, she felt drowsy and not in pain, but it seemed difficult to fall asleep. That is if she can sleep, otherwise she¡¯ll be awake and be with him all day, and it¡¯s exhausting. She started getting water in the bathtub. It was to make the most of her time. She couldn¡¯t be bothered to take off her clothes, so she sat down next to the bathtub with her clothes on and leaned her head against the railing of the bathtub. Come to think of it, when will she be able to take a bath? Already listening to the sound of water pouring into the bathtub, she thought without thinking. Then the swaying spirit, weak in energy, roughly dismisses it. There¡¯s no bleeding, so it¡¯ll be fine. Even if it didn¡¯t happen yet, she didn¡¯t want to stop taking a bath by confirming that fact. Since nothing is going to work out anyway, she wants to do something that will harm her. Even for the slightest satisfaction. So, she just wanted to quickly dive into the water. She thought it would be better if she didn¡¯t wake up in it again¡ Then, she fell asleep. When she opened her eyes again, she was in the warm water. She can¡¯t even remember when she got into the bathtub. So in a devastating moment, a hand gently caressing her back woke her from slumber. He was leaning outside the bathtub to wash her. Even knowing the situation, it was equally embarrassing. There have been a few times they¡¯ve washed together like this. Most of it was before marriage, when she didn¡¯t know she was pregnant. If there was a difference from back then, he was also sitting in the bathtub. With the expected ending that it necessarily led to sex. But now, he was like a caregiver. So, she was embarrassed by that. When she opened her eyes, more so than the fact that she was being washed naked. ¡°¡What are you doing?¡± (S) ¡°I thought I¡¯d just let you sleep in bed, but I thought you wanted to take a bath.¡± (J) ¡°¡It wasn¡¯t enough to get so many things done. Let go of me.¡± (S) As she said that, the hand that held her arm glided down the inside of her arm and went under her chest. She curled up on her own, but his other hand gripped her waist firmly in the water and held it in place. This is where she wantedto escape, but she felt like she was trapped in a dead end. He just diligently washed away every nook and cranny of her body. When he saw she was nervous, he scrubbed sensitive areas as slowly as anywhere else. It was itchy for the bath sponge to touch her genital area. It was a shame that her insides tightened up due to habit. She was afraid he would notice. She grabbed him by the arm weakly. ¡°Jin-ha-ssi.¡± (S) ¡°You have to wash up, clean.¡± (J) ¡°You don¡¯t have to do this¡ª¡± (S) ¡°¡ªI want to listen if you want it, but I want to do it even if you beg me not to¡¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°I sometimes don¡¯t know what to do when I see you.¡± (J) She was the one who didn¡¯t know what to do when she saw him. He wouldn¡¯t actually know anything. He face distorted. ¡°What¡¯s wrong with my head? I want to bully you, make you cry, but I want you to laugh¡¡± (J) ¡°Uh¡¡± (S) His hand, not the sponge, brushed between her legs going upward before it wrapped around her waist. He devoured her lips as if he was no longer able to hold back anymore. His hand that was barely wrapped around her waist was dangerously close to her pubic area. She could only stay still, welcoming his tongue that invaded her mouth. The kiss was deep and short, yet it was enough to make her head hazy. His fingers had slipped between her legs, touching right to her sensitive spot and without warning, her body spasmed in pleasure. She had been sitting at the edge of the tub and after almost falling down to the warm water, he pushed her completely back to the tub before he joined her still dressed. The water shook violently like a wave as he knelt down on his knee. The white shirt slowly became transparent, clinged to his large solid body. He leaned down between her half open legs, eyes fixated on her wet arousal. Having his face so close to her opening, it was exhilarating, it made her body tremble. ¡°Heu¡nng¡ t-there¡ ahhnnn¡¡± (S) Her toes curled in pleasure. This was pleasure that only came from being intimate with someone, regardless of circumstances. Just two people who were naked, while entangling their bodies together and forgetting everything. What a crude marriage this was. ¡°Ah, ah¡! Jin-ha-ssi, huk, please¡¡± (S) Even though she despised him, it was hard to swallow a moan right away. Her body was slowly sinking to the tub and she could see droplets of milk coming from her hard nipples, something that he couldn¡¯t see. It was an abhorrent sight. She couldn¡¯t stand it every time she looked down at herself. Still, there was no effort from her to push his head away from her body. He leaned his head back on her hand and pulled down his black pajama pants in the water at an angle to take out his hard cock. From her current angle, she could see his butt and she thought it would have been better if he took the pants off completely because now it just looks dirty and erotic. The erotic sight didn¡¯t stop there. No, when she let her eyes wander, she could see his hand moved around his cock masturbating while sucking her clit. It was such an erotic sight, just him kneeling between her open legs, stroking his own hard cock like he was in heat. But already the vulgar Woo Jin-ha was masturbating while sucking Shim Hee-joo¡¯s clit. Kneeling between her legs, grabbing his penis and waving it like a hound in heat. It was nice and contemptuous. It was exciting and stimulating. The thought that he was going to fill her up soon was enough to make her body shudder in delight, which only made her hate him even more. She wanted him to ruin her completely. It would push her to lose any love for him¡ and soon her mind was filled with destructive desires. She wrapped her hands around his chin and pulled him up from between her legs, raising his face. Chapter 30 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 30 Indecent Pleasure ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Although Shim Hee-joo was weak, Woo Jin-ha gently lifted his waist and pulled upwards as much as he wanted. However, when he found her breasts glistening with milk, he suddenly looked at her as if all his breath had been knocked out of him. She didn¡¯t say anything. She was afraid that if she spoke out loud with her mouth, she didn¡¯t know what would come out of it and might just bash her head against the tile from embarrassment. He looked at her chest for a while with an unreadable expression, then touched it with his hand very carefully. As he touched it, more and more milk began to flow out. It was so deplorable that she had to close her eyes. Not because he had found out that she was leaking milk, but rather the current situation frustrated her. He gently massaged her breasts for a long time, letting his fingers rub against her hard nipples to allow the useless milk flow out. He only stopped when there was nothing else that came out of the two hard buds. It was chilling to feel how his mouth wrapped around her nipple and drank all her milk. She never thought that her first breast feeding would be done by him, and not by her child. Every time his throat swallowed her milk, a sense of indecency grew inside her. He alternately sucked between her two breasts, drinking all the milk he could. It was so methodical that for a moment, she almost forgot that they were in the middle of coupling. Every suck and bite sent pleasure to her core and yet it was accompanied by a sense of shame. He slowly worked hard to empty both of her breasts, trailing open mouthed kisses all over her breasts once he had his fill of her milk. She gasped and arched her back slightly when his kisses trailed up and soon his lips captured her. She could see his erection bobbed against the water before pressing against her wet labia. While she was so engrossed in the pleasure, her body was lifted up, and she realized a beat later that her body was sitting in the water again, right on his laps. His erection was pressed neatly against her opening as if at any moment it would pierce through inside her. She tightened her stomach, nervous and hating that he had such an effect on her body. He was driving her crazy. She was eager at the pleasure that he would have brought to her body. The same pleasure that would destroy her body and made her hate herself for looking forward to it. His hand was wrapped around her waist, holding her body close to him and she could feel her face heated. She had expected him to thrust her from behind, but instead he just grinded their bodies together. ¡°¡Ah¡ Hng¡ Eung¡!¡± (S) She quickly covered her mouth when another moan escaped her mouth. His lips pressed against her ear as he let out a harsh moan, caressing her sensitive ears and sent shivers down her spine. His cock was moving slowly between her labia, gaining friction with her opening, nudging close to where she was most aroused. Both of their hips didn¡¯t stop moving as they chased their own pleasure against each other¡¯s arousal. Her vagina was twitching crazily, releasing her love fluid out, covering his manhood. His hand, which was around her waist, slipped down to touch her clitoris. It was persistent caressing with the aim to bring pleasure. Her body shook with needs as he continued to stimulate her and the more he touched her hard nub, the more her hips rubbed against his erection. Another orgasm soon swallowed her up and there was nothing that held her moan coming from her mouth. It was such a strong pleasure that was enough to take her voice away. As she was about to fall completely in the water, he wrapped one arm around her waist, catching her at the last second. Their position was close to laying down in the tub and yet he pressed her against the edge as he gathered her legs and wrapped them around his waist. His hard cock pressed even more to her now sensitive vagina, and instead of grinding against her labia, this time he thrusted between her thighs. He didn¡¯t seem to want to waste any time as he started to thrust at a quick pace. The water which already filled the brim of the tub overflowed, making what they were doing visible to their eyes. When she lowered her gaze, she could see his cock rammed between her thighs, up toward her stomach. Her breasts moved heavily as she followed his hip¡¯s movement. Even that cumbersome weight gave her a strange pleasure. It didn¡¯t take long for her to reach another climax, her toes curled up in pleasure while she wanted to escape the overload of stimulation. She was afraid that a greater pleasure was going to consume her. The lips that have been swept down the earlobe and left a hickey under the earlobe. She wanted to curse him because he bit a little harshly. ¡°Hng¡ Eung¡ Ah¡! Eung!¡± (S) ¡°¡.Ha¡¡± (J) When she reached her fourth climax, this time he finally followed suit painting her stomach with his cum. There was a sense of shame that engulfed her, but more importantly her body sagged as if fully submerged in water. She could feel wetness slowly spread from her back. His cum even managed to reach her breasts which were not submerged in water. Woo Jin-ha cupped her breasts and slowly rubbed his cum to her skin, as if spreading his seed as a mark on her body before he hugged her tightly. ¡°Sorry. I thought it would be enough to calm me down, but it was not the case.¡± (J) The hand that spread the corrupted seeds on her chest was rough, but the voice whispering from his lips behind her neck was tinged with tender guilt. His penis that already ejaculated once, which was still hard, insistently pressing against her ass. However, it seemed he didn¡¯t want to push it further. His voice was wet with a strange sense of wonder. ¡°I was only going to wash you, but I mistook it for your permission¡¡± (J) That¡¯s right, she allowed it. Raising him with her own hands, imagining him until the moment he inserted. She laughed at herself. He¡¯d rather destroy her to the end. She¡¯ll push him to the bottom. ¡°¡I want to sleep now.¡± (S) ¡°You can sleep.¡± (J) ¡°Go to bed¡¡± (J) ¡°I¡¯ll do it on my own.¡± (S) A big hand blocked her view. She closed her eyes. Chapter 31 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 31 Inheritance ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ It was a strange day. Woo Jin-ha was literally by Shim Hee-joo¡¯s side all day and not a minute passed without her looking at him. Plus the next day, and the day after too. He hasn¡¯t been to work for a week since that day¡ Has it been more than a week? She felt the sense of days fade away. Sometimes it felt like weeks had already passed, she thought so too. Did he have to combine all the days off in a year for more than a week? He was a crazy man at work too, so what does he want? He was a human being who seemed to go to work the next day even if his parents died. Go for a work out at 5:30 a.m., go to the hotel at 7 a.m. to eat the promised meals with humans as expensive as herself, and head to work like a machine at 8:30 a.m. He¡¯ll probably play golf that same weekend. Leaving behind what happened a few days ago to his parents, talking about looking at people like himself months later, years later, even decades later. That¡¯s true, considering that he doesn¡¯t get along with his parents very well. He and his mother were a little complicated, as his relationship with his mother was very much the same with his father. As a secretary and his wife, she is an outsider who has not changed much, so there was not much she could know about that strange family. But it was clear that it was quite different from the family she thought it was. There¡¯s no need to go far. Woo Jin-ha and Shim Hee-joo were like that too. She imagined the most unhappy moment in the life of a man sitting right next to her. Rather she thought of Woo Jin-ha, who didn¡¯t seem so unhappy even in such a sad moment. So even if she disappeared, he would still be living like that. It is no more than a waste of time. Perhaps he has never wasted more time in his life. Even housekeepers haven¡¯t been to clean the place for a week or more. They haven¡¯t seen other human beings. It really was, except for the doctor he called every other day. He stood by her without leaving the house for a while. Unless this house was such a familiar place to her, she felt kidnapped. Oh, and except she¡¯ll be very safe. There was a television turned on in front of her that no one was watching, and she was sitting next to him reading in a casual way. It was one of the few books she took out of her luggage. She thought of a few things that had nothing to do with the book, turning the pages moderately at speed. He will stick to his attitude that he will not divorce for the time being, and it was meaningless to discuss such a good divorce agreement with Lawyer Kim as long as he is so tough. The lawsuit itself is ridiculous. She has been a stranger since childhood, and she has never rushed into a fight that was obviously a losing cause. There was no hope for her if this really became a fight. It was not known how far her life would be driven as he accused her of being a gross disgrace to a great family. But there was one person who would most welcome them to separate. ¡°When will you tell your mother?¡± (S) ¡°What?¡± (J) ¡°Inheritance.¡± (S) He was silent for a moment. Just in time, her cell phone that she had placed on the sofa rang, so there was no need for him to answer. She picked up the phone that she had laid face down, hoping that it was her mother-in-law who was calling her. However, it was Kim Yun-hyeong who called. While she looks down at her phone for a moment, Woo Jin-ha asks. ¡°You¡¯re not picking up?¡± (J) She gently pressed the power button next to her phone to turn off the ringtone. If one doesn¡¯t have anything to say after picking up, she doesn¡¯t know what else to worry about, so it¡¯s better to leave it as something she didn¡¯t get because she didn¡¯t know. The cell phone with Kim Yun-hyeong¡¯s name still floating was left on the sofa again. It was placed between Woo Jin-ha and Shim Hee-joo just like before she picked it up. Thanks to Kim Yun-hyeong, she could feel Woo Jin-ha¡¯s gaze over her knee, but she focused on the book again. Woo Jin-ha hated Kim Yun-hyeong from the beginning. She thought it was the same for Kim Yun-hyeong because he was indifferent to most people anyway, but it was hard to think so after he openly said he didn¡¯t like it. Woo Jin-ha didn¡¯t like Kim Yun-hyeong, so of course he didn¡¯t like being with him. Anyways, Kim Yun-hyeong didn¡¯t meet anyone around her enough for Woo Jin-ha to get involved. Woo Jin-ha wasn¡¯t free enough to interfere in her life, but he made sure to show an unpleasant appearance when he found out. Just like last week in Gimpo. Shim Hee-joo was once a stupid bitch who thought that the sky would collapse when Woo Jin-ha was offended by her, so she was cautious even though she knew that he actually didn¡¯t care much about her life. At least once every few weeks, the face of a close friend was rarely seen from the start of marriage, and in fact, it was similar even before marriage. It was perfectly arbitrary at first. After the night in Busan, Shim Hee-joo mixed it up (had sex) with Woo Jin-ha several times a week. The routine was dense from early morning to night, and sometimes even the weekend too. Also just after-work hours, she was busy moaning underneath him. It just happened rather than voluntarily. Her world revolved around him, regardless of construction. Then, after being servile, she tried not to get on his nerves. Is Woo Jin-ha going to be jealous of Kim Yun-hyeong? When she first remembered the question, she remembered that her heart was about to burst. Then, she was depressed by concluding that Woo Jin-ha couldn¡¯t be greedy for something like her, and then at some point, she knew it was jealousy again. It was no longer overwhelming to know. Jealousy is not really a great emotion. Jealousy was for kindergarten children to do it with a friend, and jealousy also made them feel ugly when someone had something they didn¡¯t really want. So even Woo Jin-ha can be jealous of Kim Yun-hyeong. Even if Woo Jin-ha doesn¡¯t like her, even if he doesn¡¯t care. It was just like an animal hating another beast roaming in its territory. They were in an exclusive relationship temporarily, and her aunt said, ¡°Men think they own them after sleeping with a woman.¡± So maybe she was considered his. He slept with her. After that, she was forced to get married. Was it a good thing he cared that much? She doesn¡¯t usually look around, but sometimes she growls when she sees a man nearby. Everything she thought in the past was stupid. She is not smart enough now, but she laughed at herself anew. Just by being in his area. ¡°What are you both?¡± (J) Chapter 32 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 32 Friends ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ It was silent for a while, and suddenly the silence was broken by the sound of such a question. It was clear that Woo Jin-ha also checked the screen of his mobile phone by omitting the exact reference. She told the truth in a conventional fashion. ¡°Friends.¡± (S) ¡°You said he was like your brother.¡± (J) ¡°Yes, he¡¯s like that. Sometimes he¡¯s like a little brother.¡± (S) ¡°I know you¡¯re innocent, but so is he?¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°If you say yes, you¡¯re either a swindler or you don¡¯t know anything about him.¡± (J) Kim Yun-hyeong was angry when Woo Jin-ha called him the cub, and the followup words flew like stones. As she looked at the TV with her head up in the book, Woo Jin-ha picked up the remote control and turned it off. ¡°What do you want for dinner?¡± (J) It was absurd to ask, of all the questions he could have asked. While she was looking at him, he recited some things he could cook. Speaking of which, she still found it strange that he was cooking. She doesn¡¯t know what she thought of him after seeing each other for four and a half years. Does he even know how to turn on the lights? When she first heard that he was cooking, it was the first thought she had when she saw the back of his head. So, how strange would it be to ask her what she would want to eat while reciting the menu he would cook? Since he started to not go to work, he has always cooked for her himself, at first focusing on the foods that the housekeeper had made in advance, but later only making new dishes. It wasn¡¯t very skillful, but it had the knack of making everything edible. In the past, she would have spent days trying to figure out when, where, and how he came to cook. She wanted to ask, but she didn¡¯t want to pry. She doesn¡¯t want him to bother her. She couldn¡¯t be bothered with one topic that others can talk about for five or ten minutes, which is then also attached to one piece and made into a single lump. And then, ¡®Have you ever done this for another woman? Or am I the first¡¡¯ It¡¯s better not to know than to think about it alone. If it¡¯s right, it¡¯ll be a bit bitter. She was the one who lived in such a feathery delusion while calmly repeating, ¡°I know my subject.¡± (S) His rather delicate question is over because he is laughing at himself. She eventually said she¡¯d eat anything, and he affirmed her response. Then he said, ¡°I don¡¯t have any ingredients, so I might have to go out for a while.¡± (J) As he replied, he took his wallet and disappeared to the front door. Now the silence that she is used to has settled in the house. Aside from cooking for her, how many times have they eaten together? She couldn¡¯t count the days when they worked together. But since she got married, she could really count how often they dined together. He didn¡¯t have dinner at home, didn¡¯t wake up and eat breakfast, he just stayed for a while. She doesn¡¯t feel like it is home, but sometimes she doesn¡¯t feel like him. What is she doing in a place that isn¡¯t even his house? He had a child he didn¡¯t even want¡ The rest of her life was wasted if she thought so in this silence. She wanted to let go because she was so weakly gripped onto life. She thought of him putting the bowls in the dishwasher, pouring water for her, and arranging the house. It¡¯s definitely a daily routine that she has seen for over a week, and yet it didn¡¯t seem real. He never treated her like a drama queen. As a result, she is taking advantage of herself. Is he trying to make her feel better? Or is he really worried about her? What¡¯s the use of the former, and the latter now? All the days were meaningless. She wasn¡¯t thrilled with him at all. No matter what he did for her, it didn¡¯t change now. She¡¯d rather have sex. It¡¯s better to have sex as if that¡¯s all he wants from her as before, and leave the room without looking back. She couldn¡¯t imagine them sharing their daily lives, looking for each other, and seeing each other all day as if it was natural when they woke up. And now that she has experienced it. She grabbed her cell phone like she was running away. One missed call from Kim Yun-hyeong. There have been several messages since yesterday. She thought for a moment when she saw Kim Yun-hyeong¡¯s last message. [When will you take your car?] 7:01 p.m. (Y) The contracted car in Gimpo was released a few days ago. Shim Hee-joo had asked Kim Yun-hyeong on her behalf because she couldn¡¯t be extradited. She thought of Woo Jin-ha not answering regarding his mother, so she looked into the air and counted the days. [Where did you put it? I¡¯ll pick it up tomorrow.] 7:15 p.m. (S) [Studio parking lot.] 7:15 p.m. (Y) She got a reply right away. [I¡¯m sorry. I had a situation.] 7:15 p.m. (S) [How are you feeling?] 7:16 p.m. (Y) That¡¯s the first thing she was asked while he was doing unilateral favors for her and not hearing a proper explanation from her. That¡¯s the answer to Woo Jin-ha, but Kim Yun-hyeong has never felt like a younger brother. Sometimes, Shim Hee-joo talks immaturely, curses like a child, and even like a child who sucks even if they feel bad or like it. Kim Yun-hyeong was more mature than she was in the past. Adults often compare Kim Yun-hyeong and her, and say he is immature. Rather, she was actually festering and warped, and not a mature adult as others thought. [Shim Hee-joo] 7:17 p.m.(Y) [Are you okay?] 7:18 p.m.(Y) It was from that day. The details of the emotions suddenly flew away, and the gap between likes and dislikes narrowed endlessly. She had no strength other than that because she was alive, and living mindlessly was all she had. She got tired early. She feels like she has already lived for far too long. So, what was Kim Yun-hyeong¡¯s expression like when he said, ¡°I can¡¯t live anymore. I can¡¯t live anymore.¡± (Y) She sometimes thought that what she spat out that day became Kim Yun-hyeong¡¯s shackle. ¡®I thought you were really¡ I thought you were going to die¡Damn it, I thought you jumped up somewhere¡ You¡¯ll be damned if you see me later, you¡¯ll die, man¡¡¯ (S) Two years later, the 19-year-old, who threatened to kill himself on the phone, stood tall and cried at the bus stop as soon as he saw her. If he had not known her thoughts at one point, he would have always been noisy like the sun shining on cloudy days and then disappearing. She wouldn¡¯t have doubted it. Then she is left in a friendly crowd where she can¡¯t even see her face. Kim Yun-hyeong and Shim Hee-joo had a perfect relationship. He liked people, and people liked him. He has loved girls since he was young. It is ironic that there is always a documentary that is boring and gloomy around the guy who has to live as if he is watching only fun things. Kim Yun-hyeong once identified Shim Hee-joo to the point where his girlfriend misunderstood him because he couldn¡¯t help but look into it just in case. She was upset that Kim Yun-hyeong knew how much he liked his girlfriend. Of course, Kim Yun-hyeong¡¯s girlfriend changed constantly, and he who is a flirt by nature, liked every new girl with a new heart. There¡¯s no one who¡¯s good at being a person who¡¯s stuck around in everything. If he was still in a relationship these days, we wouldn¡¯t have exchanged messages like this. Shim Hee-joo was lucky to be able to push her ass to her heart¡¯s content. It was ridiculous of her to say so in this situation. She couldn¡¯t bear to answer because it must be funny to see her. At that time, she heard Woo Jin-ha coming in from the front door. [Talk to me tomorrow.] 7:23 p.m. (S) [I¡¯m sure you¡¯re just gonna do your job.] 7:23 p.m. (Y) Just before she turned off the chat window, she saw Kim Yun-hyeong¡¯s last words and laughed, and she saw his face in her mind. While Woo Jin-ha¡¯s eyes that looked at her face turned to the cell phone in her hand. She naturally put it down and said. ¡°I¡¯m going to see my aunt tomorrow. Can you get out?¡± (S) ¡°You said you¡¯d go, why would you ask?¡± (J) ¡°Because you¡¯ve been acting like a guard.¡± (S) She added a little sarcastically without realizing it. He asks with a blank face. ¡°What¡¯s wrong with her?¡± (J) ¡°She was hospitalized in a car accident a while ago.¡±(S) ¡°When.¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s been weeks already.¡± (S) ¡°Why didn¡¯t you tell me?¡± (J) ¡°It doesn¡¯t have much to do with Jin-ha-ssi..¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (J) ¡°I haven¡¯t actually been to the hospital yet. My aunt said that pregnant women shouldn¡¯t come there, because she hates it.¡± (S) ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter.¡± (J) ¡°Just a superstition. You don¡¯t bring a child who¡¯s not even born where sick or dead people come and go every day.¡± (S) He nods silently, even though she thought he¡¯d make an expression that he¡¯d listen to all sorts of uncivilized words. She smiled a little. ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter because I don¡¯t have the child anymore.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (J) He was stiff without saying a word even though it was a light word. Then he replied. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s go.¡± (J) She shook her head as if she was going with him. ¡°I don¡¯t mind going alone.¡± (S) ¡°Don¡¯t you want me to come with you?¡± (J) She thought for a moment about which answer would be appropriate. ¡®It¡¯s not important enough for you to go there yourself?¡¯ It¡¯s already said in a similar way. It doesn¡¯t matter. ¡®My aunt hates you?¡¯ In fact, her aunt hated Woo Jin-ha, but she was not the first person to like money. But does the reason need to be appropriate? She felt uncomfortable going to see her family¡¯s issues with him for any reason. She¡¯s getting divorced soon, she hopes so. She doesn¡¯t want to put him in her real family for a while¡ Whatever it is. ¡°Don¡¯t you like it?¡± (J) He quickly penetrated the essence. It seemed to her that she didn¡¯t decline because she thought of him the way she used to. When she is silent still, he speaks nonchalantly. ¡°Okay, I won¡¯t go.¡± (J) Then she quickly stood up when he took out his cell phone to tell Secretary Choi to carry out the mission. ¡°Never mind. Don¡¯t even ask Secretary Choi to do that.¡± (S) ¡°Driving is tiring.¡± (J) ¡°¡ªI want to go alone. I¡¯m comfortable with that. It¡¯s not that I don¡¯t want to cause trouble to Secretary Choi.¡± (J) He looks at me quietly with his phone. ¡°Of course, it¡¯s also true that I don¡¯t want to cause trouble. But I just don¡¯t like it. Being with your people.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (J) She grabbed his wrist holding the phone, pulled it down and headed towards the kitchen. No matter what he bought, She didn¡¯t want to get more of his food, so she rummaged through the pantry. ¡°I will cook. now stop¡ª¡± (S) ¡°¡ªLeave it.¡± (J) He forcibly took her hands off the pan and took her away. She was quietly watching the back of the cook. In the end, they sat down again and ate. Seeing him taking things for granted, even things that are normal to others, and things that are not normal to them, made her a little sick of it and dizzy. ¡°Liver?¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s a little salty.¡± (S) She heard him chuckle. ¡°Next time I¡¯ll make it a little more bland.¡± (J) ¡°Next time, just don¡¯t do it.¡± (S) ¡°Then I¡¯ll do something else.¡± (J) ¡°Something else. Being with Jin-ha-ssi all day is not very fun.¡± (S) It would have been unimaginable just ten days ago. He has a smiling expression on his face. In fact, it¡¯s almost like laughing. ¡°You¡¯re not here to have fun.¡± (J) ¡°I really feel like I¡¯m being punished.¡± (S) ¡°Because it¡¯s a bee.¡± (J) ¡°Isn¡¯t it a punishment to not lift a single hand of mine?¡± (S) ¡°It¡¯s not fun. I will learn.¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s over now. I¡¯m going to work.¡± (J) There won¡¯t be any room anymore. She knew the way he worked was close to self-abuse. He hasn¡¯t been able to rest for a single day, and this has already made a big hole in him. She continued looking down at the half-shrunken rice bowl. ¡°I don¡¯t want to be with you like this.¡± (S) When she woke up one day, she was afraid that her heart would melt away. She thinks this might be enough to make him think it¡¯s okay. She¡¯s afraid the torture of hope will make her head stupid again. There are no silly words. The meal ended quietly. She remembered the last time she went to the hospital. Ten days have passed since that day. The terrible pain of that time is rather far away. The sound of the bed wheels rattling under her head, a scream that didn¡¯t sound like her own voice, the moment when the amniotic fluid burst and all the blood seemed to drain out of her body¡ It all loses its sense of reality like a dream, and it occasionally flashes through her head like a scene in an unrelated video. Chapter 34 So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 34 Aunt ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Note As Shim Hee-joo passed the young woman who stood blankly against the wall, she remembered her humble self of that day. The most painful moments are as distant as a dream. But strangely enough, the moment she stood like that, contemplating how to get home alone that day, was vivid as if it had happened a few hours ago. Those few minutes that she couldn¡¯t sit down for fear that the chair might be stained with blood, barely standing next to him, wondering who would come for her now. If her aunt had not been hospitalized here, She would have been a little less shabby. Even if she could have called her, she wouldn¡¯t have called her because she didn¡¯t want her aunt to see her like that¡ She wonders if it would be okay if she could just do that. Thinking about it that way gave her some comfort. It was because she realized that she and her aunt were very similar to one another. It¡¯s the part that they don¡¯t show each other¡¯s hardships and misery. Her aunt didn¡¯t tell her the number of her hospital room until the very end, so she passed it on to Shim Hee-joo¡¯s cousin who works in this hospital. No. 305, No. 305¡ Seeing her aunt¡¯s name on the outside of her hospital room, she pulled out her mirror and checked her face first. She didn¡¯t seem like a very sick person. In fact, she ate so well and slept so well that it has never been like this in recent years. From the second day onwards, Shim Hee-joo couldn¡¯t even get up from the table if she didn¡¯t finish eating. So she put everything in her mouth, thinking she would vomit in front of Woo Jin-ha. However, the drug that Professor Han prescribed worked so well that it did not cause vomiting, and made her sleepy all day, eventually falling asleep as if surrendering. The IV that was given for a long time, like being admitted to the hospital, must have played a part. Still in doubt, she put lipstick on her lips and placed a mirror inside the room. The laughter of the aunts continued to flow from the five-person room. Of course, it is not only her aunt in the room. Recalling that her aunt wasn¡¯t very friendly. She had said to middle school aged Shim Hee-joo, who was sitting at her mother¡¯s funeral, crying. ¡°Are you going to die while crying? Don¡¯t be squeamish and live in the future.¡± (A) It was still good to see her disappearing to do her job, leaving only the cold advice. ¡°Auntie.¡± (S) The aunts who had gathered to chatter, stopped chatting and looked at her for a while, then looked at her aunt and turned their eyes away. She deserved a look. The look on her aunt¡¯s face, who found her, looking like someone who stole money 10 years ago. ¡°Can you see me?¡± (A) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) ¡°You bastard with a light snout. You don¡¯t like people, so why come?¡± (A) ¡°I¡¯m curious about what my aunt¡¯s body is like.¡± (S) ¡°It didn¡¯t hurt too much.¡± (A) ¡°She said she had a fractured left arm. Legs too¡¡± (P1) ¡°What do you do with some gold? What about arms and legs¡ It¡¯s a big deal if you just listen to it, it¡¯s just¡¡± (P2) ¡°It¡¯s just dangerous to get hurt like that at your aunt¡¯s age.¡± (P3) ¡°The world will change someday, so if it¡¯s my age, I¡¯ll just be an old lady.¡± (A) ¡°It¡¯s dangerous at your age.¡± (P4) She pulled a chair and sat next to it. Her aunt looked unhappy knowing that she wouldn¡¯t be there any longer. ¡°The insurance company staff told me to take a break this time because the diagnosis will come out well. It¡¯s just that.¡± (A) ¡°That¡¯s right. Auntie should have rested a little.¡± (S) ¡°I shouldn¡¯t have heard that. It¡¯s been a day or two to just lie down and sleep, but it¡¯s a little painful.¡± (A) ¡°I can¡¯t do anything by myself because I¡¯m at home. Did you wash up well? Shall we take a shower?¡± (S) ¡°Who do you think you are? That I am with dementia? What are you doing with that body? You kept sending caregivers through Chan-joo, right? (A) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) ¡°I¡¯m so excited that I¡¯m a rich man. Amen, don¡¯t spend your husband¡¯s. Even if it¡¯s not a few pennies, I¡¯ll spend money on this side for no reason later on¡¡± (A) Even if she pretends to be indifferent, she¡¯s always worried that she¡¯ll get caught in the house. She felt sorry for her aunt. ¡°I don¡¯t spend much money from Jin-ha. I did it with my own money.¡± (S) ¡°Are you crazy? Don¡¯t spend more if it¡¯s your money!¡± (A) It¡¯s been a while since she laughed with a real smile. But her aunt was sincere. ¡°He¡¯s crazy! If my arms and legs were okay, I would have gone to give a punch!¡± (A) ¡°I have some money, too. Auntie.¡± (S) ¡°Are you the only one here? I¡¯m here, too.¡± (A) Her aunt sighed full of annoyance when she laughed despite the complaints. ¡°You should also listen to me because I¡¯m washing at this age.¡± How do you feel?¡± (A) ¡°I think it¡¯ll be comfortable and nice¡¡± (S) ¡°It¡¯s okay. Don¡¯t sit down for too long and go. You¡¯re going to fail again.¡± (A) ¡°I miscarried.¡± (S) ¡°¡What?¡± (A) Her aunt¡¯s eyes then turned to her stomach. Shim Hee-joo thought she¡¯d notice it right away without saying it, but come to think of it, she hadn¡¯t seen her aunt from when her stomach started to noticeably swell. It was a look on her face that she could not have imagined, perhaps because she unconsciously thought her aunt did not have a sense of incongruity like Kim Yun-hyeong. ¡°So it¡¯s okay. After all, I¡¯ll do it. When I heard that it was just an accident, I should have come sooner.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (A) ¡°I wanted to see my aunt¡¡± (S) They weren¡¯t originally supposed to be able to say this. Her aunt was once her guardian¡ Maybe ten months they¡¯ve lived together? From the spring of April nineteenth until February of the following year that she went to college, she lived with her aunt. Before that, she lived in her uncle¡¯s big house for two years. Her mother died when she was sixteen, and her father died as soon as she was seventeen. Their families were close to each other, but by the time they saw their niece who was left alone after a series of portraits, each of them had a different face. The night before her mother¡¯s death, her mother asked, ¡°What should I do with Hee-joo?¡± (M) She and her six siblings, excluding Shim Hee-joo¡¯s father, gathered and talked for a while. No one was willing to step forward, so the silence lasted a long time. Shim Hee-joo¡¯s aunt raised her hand as if tired of the silence. ¡®She can¡¯t live alone.¡¯ (A) Her aunt was a single, ¡®disgusting child¡¯ who hated her nephews and nieces coming near her. ¡®How can a kid who has never married and living alone until that age take care of herself, a middle school student? The kid, we should go to the house where the kid is.¡¯ (A) ¡®Brother. She¡¯s right¡ It¡¯s hard for our kids to fall behind, but how do we add one more?¡¯ (M) Shim Hee-joo sat far away and watched them. She and her grandfather met eyes from time to time. Her father trusted and followed her uncle the most among his brothers. Thanks to this, her uncle was well aware of the financial situation of his deceased brother and wife. Chapter 35 Translated by Jasmine. So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 35 Shouldn¡¯t Have Gotten Married ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Note ¡®Done. Hee-joo, let me take over.¡¯ (U) ¡®Brother. Did Yoon-young get her mother¡¯s permission?¡¯ (A1) ¡®I¡¯d rather ask my brother. I¡¯m still young, but I¡¯m trying to keep going¡¡¯ (A3) ¡®Hee-joo is someone who goes backwards just by looking at her face. How are you?¡¯ (A2) ¡®Then, shall I throw her on the street? My family is not that cold-hearted. When Yoon-young went to college, a room was vacated. She and Ji-young are a year older¡''(U) ¡®That¡¯s right. Ji-young, Hee-joo and she got along well when they were younger. Rather good If only my brother-in-law was fine¡¡¯ (A3) Her uncle took her to Ansan, showing her great grace. Her deceased mother, of course, was not okay. She didn¡¯t know that the situation at that house had gotten so difficult in the past few years, but it wasn¡¯t until months later that she realised the reason they took her. Her pocket money, her food expenses, the place she lies down in the house¡ Explaining how much money was wasted because of her, the uncle took care of the legacy her father left behind. He said he would leave and she¡¯d be sorry, but she started getting beaten that day. Her uncle was her legal guardian, and he didn¡¯t really need her permission to touch the money left by his dead brother. Nevertheless, the reason he wanted to be confirmed by her must have been the slightest conscience towards his deceased brother, and not her. Her deceased father said that he wanted to give away the money he had at his disposal rather than let it rot. On the outside, her father said that the bastard uncle left a lot of debt and went to trouble. Half of the cash her father left over these years was used to move to a house that was suddenly better off, bigger, and closer to Seoul. Naturally, there was no room for her in the new house, and she slept every day listening to all kinds of complaints from the owner of the room who put the blanket under cousin Ji-young¡¯s bed and bothered her. That day was lucky, at least it wasn¡¯t until dawn. The better the situation and the happier the family, the more she was the jade tea of ??the family. The good news was that no matter how many houses were put up for sale in Gimpo, it was not sold because of rumors that a person in the house committed suicide. It was because of that, he had no choice but to leave more than half of her father¡¯s legacy. Her uncle was a filial son, he happily spent half of the cash and then gave the rest to his mother. The family business, which had been difficult for a while, came to fruition, and her grandmother sold her land to finally repay him for his help. She sat in the back and snorted, then they came back that day and she was beaten like a dog. Now that there was no cash left, her uncle¡¯s wife, who pretended to tolerate her, started to beat her from that day. Shim Hee-joo quietly went into the bedroom and turned on the TV. She doesn¡¯t know when her aunt noticed it. After her uncle¡¯s family moved to Anyang, they came to see her occasionally and looked at her with meaningful eyes, but she felt uncomfortable with such a family. It was natural for her as a young adult who had never heard a word of kindness since childhood. So, she was a little perplexed when, one day, suddenly her aunt took her and started making a fuss in the uncle¡¯s big house. It was around the time when her house in Gimpo could not even be sold or rented and was just floating in the air. Her uncle wanted to make money with it somehow before she became an adult. Her aunt just watched with pitiful eyes at how Shim Hee-joo¡¯s uncle raised her, and that now he wants her to hand over the house to him. ¡®You don¡¯t think I¡¯m as old-fashioned as my brother.¡¯ (A) Whether or not her uncle had seizures at her scathing words, her aunt shoved Shim Hee-joo¡¯s things into two large suitcases, not caring whether it was hers or her cousin¡¯s belongings. Because the uncle¡¯s family were doing something stupid looking at Shim Hee-joo, she unknowingly packed her bags together. ¡®What are you doing with your mouth shut? That¡¯s right. That¡¯s right. I can¡¯t say anything.¡¯ (A) Sitting side by side on the bus seat, she placed her two suitcases on her lap, one at a time, and she thought about where else her life would go. Her aunt muttered to herself again as if her anger could not be resolved no matter how much she thought about it. ¡®If you¡¯re a kid, don¡¯t do that to a pup¡ When your father was alive, he was kind to him.¡¯ (A) ¡®Just¡ I just want to live.¡¯ (S) ¡®What?¡¯ (A) ¡®That¡¯s why I didn¡¯t say anything.¡¯ (S) ¡®¡¡¡¯ (A) ¡®That¡¯s right, I had to live. I don¡¯t think about my dad.¡¯ (S) ¡®¡¡¡¯ (A) ¡®And this is the bankbook with dad¡¯s money¡ I stole it from my uncle¡¯s wife¡¯s dressing table drawer earlier.¡¯ (S) ¡®¡Why are you giving this to me?¡¯ (A) ¡®It¡¯s been a while, but write it down.¡¯ (S) ¡®¡¡¡¯ (A) ¡®If you don¡¯t hit me, I¡¯ll even give you my house in Gimpo.¡¯ (S) Her aunt was silent the whole way home with Shim Hee-joo¡¯s bankbook in hand. They got off the bus that arrived in Gimpo with her luggage, and then transferred to the city bus going to her aunt¡¯s house. Even after getting off the bus, she had to walk about ten minutes to get to her aunt¡¯s house. Her aunt said as she was walking without thinking, whimpering that her luggage was heavy. ¡®I¡¯m going to work tomorrow. I usually don¡¯t rest on Sundays.¡¯ (A) ¡®Ah¡ Yes.¡¯ (S) ¡®There is rice in the rice cooker¡ I¡¯ll buy you a side dish before you go to school, so when you wake up, take it out and eat it. I don¡¯t dress up like that.¡¯ (A) ¡®Yes. thank you.¡¯ (S) ¡®You have 3 million won left in your bank account. You only have 10 months to graduate. Send me 300,000 won a month for your living expenses.¡¯ (A) ¡®You can have it all¡¡¯ (S) ¡®I can have it all? Can¡¯t you count? Use a calculator. Keep the bankbook.¡¯ (A) ¡®Yes.¡¯ (S) ¡®And I have a house and money. Where can I use a house that cannot even be sold because it has ghosts? You do it.¡¯ (A) She sent money to her aunt as monthly rent, and in return her aunt gave her pocket money every week. Occasionally, a friend of her aunt who has a son, an examination center student, came to play and talked about what he heard at SkyEdu, what subjects are famous in Megastudy¡ After talking, her aunt found out how much it was and gave him the money. Cut off the reading room, cut off the lecture hall¡ No matter how one looks at it, it didn¡¯t seem like a lot of business. Her aunt noticed that if Shim Hee-joo had to do housework, she was kicked out to study. Her aunt was generally indifferent, but she did a good job. She didn¡¯t even hit her. The 3 million won her aunt had received for ten months was saved and put into her bank account to be used as Shim Hee-joo¡¯s tuition on her day of graduation. Her aunt was disgusted and left because Shim Hee-joo started to cry after receiving it back. Her grandmother, vaguely aware that the money her son had given to her was Shim Hee-joo¡¯s father¡¯s legacy to her, reluctantly returned it due to her aunt¡¯s persuasion. It was her father¡¯s money, so her aunt didn¡¯t spend a penny, her aunt said. Thanks to this, she also avoided being a poor high school student. She has a place to go for the holidays. ¡°¡ A sick bastard¡¡± (A) The answer to the sad saying that I missed you was a bit harsh, but she was relieved to hear the familiar swearing. She finally felt like she was in a safe place. Her aunt wasn¡¯t the kind to talk to anyone in the first place. She didn¡¯t even try to empathize easily¡ So, even if someone dies, she¡¯s like, ¡°Oh my, Hee-joo, it¡¯s so pitiful¡¡± (A) And she has nothing else to say for Shim Hee-joo¡¯s emotions. Because it was her aunt who said that when they found out her grandmother had died. But she was the kindest adult she¡¯s ever lived with. ¡°How did you become such an old-timer?¡± (A) ¡°I know, right.¡± (S) Her aunt sighed quietly. ¡°Auntie was right. I just shouldn¡¯t have gotten married.¡± (S) ¡°Marriage is what marriage is. I¡¯ve never heard of a married woman like you.¡± (A) That said, her aunt was briefly against her marriage. When her aunt heard that Woo Jin-ha was the grandson of WK, the world seemed to have changed. But as soon as she heard about the prenuptial contract, she changed her face. ¡°What¡¯s the point of assuming that he broke up with you if he doesn¡¯t intend to divorce you in the first place?¡± (A) How did she defend it? ¡°It is correct to write that one doesn¡¯t know what¡¯s going to happen with people¡¡± (S) Shim Hee-joo mumbled like an idiot because she wasn¡¯t so confident. So her aunt kicked her tongue and called her a bastard girl. ¡°Why are you getting married with the intention of breaking up in the end?¡± (A) ¡°That person¡¯s family is different from people like us.¡± (S) She cried so hard that her aunt just asked her all over. It was like doing what she pleased. If her aunt were right, and whatever it is, if she had advised that it is a good thing to get married and catch that great guy. Would her heart have been a little more comfortable? Shim Hee-joo knows it can¡¯t be. Because she knew from the beginning that she was wrong. It would have been nice to just be wrong about Woo Jin-ha. ¡°¡ I didn¡¯t want to get married or have children.¡± (S) ¡°You¡¯re pretending not to be the subject of having children before you even get married.¡± (A) ¡°¡ Is that important to your aunt now?¡± (A) It didn¡¯t seem to matter. Her aunt just looked down at her hand and sighed deeply. ¡°You can have another child.¡± (A) Chapter 36 Translated by Jasmine. So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 36 ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¡°¡I can¡¯t do that.¡± (S) ¡°Anyway, the most important thing for you is to be next to him. What can¡¯t be done?¡± (A) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°Wait a minute, I wonder just how, as I¡¯ve been struggling like this.¡± (A) ¡°I don¡¯t want to have any more children.¡± (S) ¡°It is now¡ But where does your husband come from, he¡¯s no ordinary man, and no son? After getting married on the pretext of being pregnant and having a hard time getting pregnant, where are you without children?¡± (A) That¡¯s perfectly correct. As she quietly nodded, her aunt closed her eyes fiercely. ¡°Your mother-in-law¡¯s polarity is horrendous again. Say goodbye to giving birth to a son, don¡¯t even think about at least giving birth to a girl.¡± (A) Naturally, the arrogant mother-in-law and her harsh aunt had a bad first impression of each other. Her aunt has a peculiar expression when she gossips about her mother-in-law, and whenever her mother-in-law despises Shim Hee-joo. She often thinks of her aunt¡¯s expression and falls into a different mind for her. ¡°Look at this girl. I¡¯d turn on the lights to kick you out¡¡± (A) ¡°So I¡¯m going to get kicked out.¡± (S) ¡°What?¡± (A) ¡°Because I don¡¯t want to have any more children, and I don¡¯t want to live with them any longer.¡± (S) Thinking of her mother-in-law, her grimly distorted expression changed completely. ¡°Your husband must have been sad because he¡¯s such a busy person, but¡ don¡¯t be upset. Why are you doing this after getting married well? Let¡¯s sell the year in full bloom¡ Nothing happens in your life, but now only one thing went well. Why are you kicking your fortune on all fours?¡± (A) The person who told her to be careful before getting married doesn¡¯t know what to do when the wedding is nearing a divorce. Her aunt slapped Shim Hee-joo on her shoulder with her strong arm, and then slapped her in the face¡ Again, she spoke calmly. ¡°I just live like that. What does love feed you?¡± (A) ¡°I don¡¯t give it.¡± (S) ¡°Is it not? Other women go crazy with envy when their husbands are too busy to give them money and say it¡¯s over. To be honest, even if you don¡¯t see his face even once, it¡¯s better for you to sit in that house¡ Where else can you find such a jackpot?¡± (A) ¡°It¡¯s like a beggar to sell.¡± (S) ¡°That¡¯s what the chaebol¡¯s daughter-in-law says¡¡± (A) ¡°I feel like a real beggar, I just¡¡± (S) She put her head down on the bed. Tears that seemed to have dried up forever flowed out. Her aunt doesn¡¯t even know how to pat her on the back. Her father didn¡¯t even give her a hug once in her memory. A heavy sigh subsides. ¡®At least there is one person who is upset because of my selling¡¡¯ Shim Hee-joo thought without thinking and wiped her tears with the blanket. So this was enough. Kim Yun-hyeong usually worked in the studio during the day, even when he¡¯s not working. So Shim Hee-joo didn¡¯t even have to ask where he was during the day. She skipped her medication once, so it was hard to climb the stairs to the fourth floor. She opened the door that he had not locked beforehand. He was working on graphics in front of the computer, startled as if he had seen something in vain, and then suddenly straightened his hair. He had his hair tied up and round glasses on, but it wasn¡¯t strange, rather he was busy looking in the mirror without looking at her. One day he said he didn¡¯t want to look ugly, no matter how friendly the person he was with. Meanwhile, she walked right behind him. ¡°Why? You are handsome.¡± (S) His hair, which had been tied up for a while, remained slightly raised despite his efforts. He thought it was better to be disheveled because he couldn¡¯t sort it out, so he messes up his hair naturally. Then he was surprised that he still looked like a college student. ¡°Is it difficult to make a phone call? Why did you come all of a sudden?¡± (Y) ¡°Somehow, you are dressed beautifully. Where did you go?¡± (Y) ¡°I went to my aunt¡¯s hospital.¡± (S) He clicked his tongue. Ever since she was in college, he knew she wore the best clothes whenever she went to see her aunt. He said that it was like visiting a teacher on Teacher¡¯s Day. Chapter 37 Translated by Jasmine. So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 37 ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Shim Hee-joo thinks it¡¯s pretty similar. Her aunt was close to her family, but it was not a family where they could live together. She was the benefactor who saved her. ¡°So, is your aunt okay?¡± (Y) ¡°Huh. She¡¯s going to be discharged after this week. I went too late.¡± (S) ¡°Are you not allowed to leave the house? Something like that¡¡± (Y) Kim Yun-hyeong blurs the end of his words. ¡°No, I don¡¯t even care. We haven¡¯t lived together in Hannam-dong for a month, so what?¡± (S) The month was, to say the least, hell. Shortly before her marriage, her mother-in-law insisted that she was the only one who could take care of Shim Hee-joo entirely because she had no parents with her. Woo Jin-ha is very busy and won¡¯t even have time to care about his pregnant wife, so how hard it would be to leave her alone. Her mother-in-law asked what Shim Hee-joo would do when a child was born¡ Shim Hee-joo noticed that Woo Jin-ha didn¡¯t really trust his own mother, but her decision told herself to let her mother-in-law take care of it. In fact, she meant not to make a decision. However, she wouldn¡¯t have let it be known to him. She had no choice but to join her mother-in-law as well as her commands. She followed her mother-in-law¡¯s instructions and entered the house. Anyway, Woo Jin-ha was a man who came home and slept no matter where he lived. No matter what she heard or despised, he didn¡¯t care. Besides, her mother-in-law only treated Shim Hee-joo well in front of her son. If her mother-in-law hadn¡¯t forgotten about her for a while at Woo Jin-ha¡¯s house that day and didn¡¯t make mistakes, he wouldn¡¯t have taken her out that day. ¡°But now you have a good face.¡± (Y) ¡°Eat well and sleep well.¡± (S) Shim Hee-joo wiped her face and laughed softly. Kim Yun-hyeong asked while sitting with his legs crossed. ¡°What about your husband?¡± (Y) ¡°Huh?¡± (S) ¡°If you came to me like that without warning, wouldn¡¯t you come here to ask me to do something for you?¡± (Y) She was going to do something¡ It¡¯s hard to believe that she¡¯s been doing that for over a week, and she¡¯s embarrassed to say that, so I hesitated for a moment to answer. Kim Yun-hyeong asked how he interpreted it again, raising the corners of his mouth. ¡°Or you just didn¡¯t like it? There I am.¡± (Y) ¡°Not really¡ Jin-ha-ssi, because he doesn¡¯t like you very much.¡± (S) ¡°It¡¯s crazy. He looked like he was going to kill me.¡± (Y) There was nothing to talk about. He doesn¡¯t really like it, so even the words she says come out unconsciously. It¡¯s strange to come now and hope for good feelings between her husband and friend. She said with a chuckle. ¡°You don¡¯t like Jin-ha-ssi very much either.¡± (S) ¡°Uh. Fuck.¡± (Y) Kim Yun-hyeong replied as if he had been waiting. ¡°I said divorce. Is it still that way?¡± (Y) ¡°I can¡¯t, what should I do? There is no point in litigating with that person.¡± (S) ¡°I told you I was going to introduce you to a lawyer.¡± (Y) ¡°There¡¯s no case, man. He didn¡¯t even rant. He never hit me.¡± (S) ¡°Is that the end? We broke up due to personality differences. What are you talking about?¡± (Y) (T/N: this guy is talking about his previous gf????) ¡°Have you seen anyone who wins a lawsuit because of a personality difference?¡± (S) ¡°I don¡¯t know, I¡¡± (Y) ¡°Actually, I don¡¯t even know.¡± (S) She admitted without hesitation. ¡°It¡¯s just that there¡¯s no way to win¡ Because the results are so obvious.¡± (S) ¡°Then you¡¯re just going to live like that?¡± (Y) He frowned, displeased. Yes, it looked insignificant because of his round glasses, but she did not express it. ¡°If you have a lot of time¡ Can you make him want to divorce me?¡± (S) ¡°Do you have a lot of time?¡± (Y) He asked in a slurred tone, as if they were going to go to a PC room. She nodded. ¡°There is plenty of time. But I don¡¯t want to spend too much.¡± (S) ¡°Looks like you¡¯ve lost your temper.¡± (Y) The funniest thing was that it still hasn¡¯t changed much. She just knew it wasn¡¯t. Instead of affirming or denying that statement, She turned her head and glanced at the works of her friend. ¡°My mother-in-law will help¡ maybe.¡± (S) ¡°Is she helping you?¡± (Y) ¡°Huh.¡± (S) ¡°Hey. I don¡¯t know who your mother-in-law is¡¡± (Y) He seemed to know what was going to happen at the end of the slurred words. ¡°¡What is it? That¡¯s why sometimes there are people who seem to know ten when they see one.¡± (Y) (T/N: he is saying that few people are quick to notice many things from one glance, lol he is talking about himself and saying how smart he is) ¡°Huh.¡± (S) ¡°I saw her talking to you at the wedding. I saw it from afar¡¡± (Y) Anyone with a certain degree of observation can easily see how lowly her mother-in-law regards Shim Hee-joo as a human being. She smiles kindly, holds her hand and looks upbeat. But when people don¡¯t see her, she turns into a different person, looks down on Shim Hee-joo¡ It didn¡¯t hurt at all. Because she¡¯s seen more faces in her life. At least, her mother-in-law had a justification that Shim Hee-joo was infinitely short of Woo Jin-ha. It is not difficult to imagine a harsh marriage in common sense, as it is a marriage with a difference like heaven and earth. Compared to her imagination, she was living very comfortably. ¡°I was just wondering if a kid like you would get out of the house at any moment.¡± (Y) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°I don¡¯t open my mouth no matter where, so I don¡¯t get hit by people while they are mad.¡± (S) It wasn¡¯t her, Woo Jin-ha made her come out. If it wasn¡¯t for it, maybe she could have stood still for a year or a decade. Just like ten years ago, living in a big house, just getting used to every other day. She doesn¡¯t know if it was because she was adapting well, or because she just didn¡¯t have the energy to get out. She took the last pill from her handbag. She needed some good energy now. Kim Yun-hyeong pushed the glass of water he was drinking on the table. As soon as she swallowed the medication, she felt like she was already feeling drowsy. Sometimes the painkillers seem to take away energy, but in the end it was getting better little by little. It was strange, but it was also thanks to Woo Jin-ha. ¡°Hey. The Jin-ha scene actually doesn¡¯t bother me that much.¡± (S) ¡°Is that so?¡± (Y) ¡°I don¡¯t get in the way and I don¡¯t care.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (Y) ¡°So, whether I am there or not, he may not care. When I got married, the pressure of getting married in my hometown disappeared¡ Maybe it was more convenient because I was there.¡± (S) ¡°Shim¡¡± (Y) ¡°So, based on various calculations, he may not want to divorce me right now.¡± (S) ¡°Then your mother-in-law¡¡± (Y) ¡°She, more than anyone else, would like to get me out more than myself.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (Y) ¡°So it¡¯s okay Yun-hyeong, everything will be alright.¡± Kim Yun-hyeong still looked at Shim Hee-joo with a dissatisfied gaze, leaned over to the drawer behind her and took out the car keys. A familiar shape welcomed her instead of an expensive foreign car logo. ¡°And if you go back one by one like this¡¡± (Y) Then she will come back again. To the place where Woo Jin-ha is not there. She got out of the car with the visitor pass she received earlier clearly visible on the dashboard. And when she went inside the door, she realized that the car door had not been locked, so she went back to the parking lot and pressed the car key. ¡®Beep, beep.¡¯ She checked her car flickering from afar, and as she turned around, she suddenly heard a car door closing nearby. She was starting to get a little crazy. (T/N: she thought she is hallucinating from the drugs) When she was parking there earlier, the car coming in from the other side was Woo Jin-ha¡¯s car. It was childishly the most disappointing since there was a spot so close to the entrance and Woo Jin-ha did only good things without knowing it. It would have been better if she had just gone in earlier and hadn¡¯t met him at all. She glanced at him and headed towards the doorway, and at a leisurely pace he followed her. ¡°What, whose car?¡± (J) Chapter 38 Translated by Jasmine. So Long For Now, Summer Chapter 38 ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Woo Jin-ha seems to have checked what car is blinking. I opened the door and answered. ¡°Bought. New.¡± (S) ¡°I see?¡± (J) What Woo Jin-ha wants to ask is, ¡®Why is that so?¡¯ He probably wouldn¡¯t have said anything if Shim Hee-joo had bought a car similar to the one he had bought. ¡°I need something to ride comfortably.¡± (S) ¡°Is that car uncomfortable?¡± (J) ¡°It was good.¡± (S) ¡°Good, but not comfortable.¡± (J) ¡°Yes.¡± (S) ¡°Then go see a car with me on the weekend. Buy it again.¡± (J) ¡°I do not need it.¡± (S) ¡°You can see it again with a small car.¡± (J) ¡°It¡¯s okay.¡± (S) After a meaningless quarrel, there was silence for a while. He picked up his phone and checked something. She was busy standing between the two elevators, taking turns watching the numbers change. And as soon as the door opened, she got on busily. After that, Woo Jin-ha walked slowly, and she felt the urge to close the door right in front of her for a moment, but she resisted it. He entered the elevator and looked at his phone until the door closed again. Then, as soon as the door closed completely, he turned off the screen and lifted his head. ¡°¡So, are you seeing Kim Yun-hyeong again?¡± (J) It was amazing. ¡°Are you spying on me now?¡± (S) ¡°Since you disappeared from this house once.¡± (J) ¡°You are here again.¡± (S) ¡°There is no way it will never happen again.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°Once you are careless, being twice you are mistaken. Being vigilant twice is a matter of intelligence. So, can you tell me?¡± (J) ¡°I wish I had thought of that when I slept with you twice.¡± (S) He laughs and coughs. She laughed like he did, however, it was cold and sarcastic. ¡°Don¡¯t be weird. We are nominally married.¡± (J) Just then, the elevator door opened. Without a word, he let her off first and then followed. As she entered the front door, she suddenly became annoyed. ¡°I can¡¯t get a divorce, I¡¯m not able to meet friends, I¡¯ll have to be monitored¡ What¡¯s wrong with the Woo Jin-ha scene?¡± (S) ¡°Be friends.¡± (J) ¡°Kim Yun-heyong is my friend.¡± (S) ¡°It will be for you.¡± (J) Shim Hee-joo didn¡¯t understand. On the contrary, Woo Jin-ha would have known earlier that Kim Yun-heyong and her were not doing anything special if they were to monitor them, but it¡¯s just that their existence itself is annoying. She turned around and stared at him, but she was annoyed that he was even doing that, so she quickly turned around and went to the dressing room. He doesn¡¯t seem to bother her at all, simply following her into the dressing room and standing on the side where his clothes hang. The dressing room was divided in half starting from the door. He¡¯s on the left, she¡¯s on the right. They each stood with their backs to one another and took off their clothes. She lost her patience because it was his fault that She had to deliberately unbutton her blouse one by one and keep grooming it in vain. ¡°Can it be half a year?¡± (S) Really, it was an impulse. She had no intention of negotiating with him, but she had already been rejected and had no prospects. But before she uses outside powers to ruin this marriage, She wanted to ask him one last question. Even if that¡¯s the case, can¡¯t they finish it first by themselves? ¡°Half a year?¡± (J) ¡°How about a year?¡± (S) ¡°So, what?¡± (J) ¡°Despite the opposition of my family, I got all kinds of criticisms, and I got married with all my heart no matter what it was. So I do understand. You are saying no right now.¡± (S) ¡°There is no objection marrying you.¡± (J) ¡°Do I look stupid?¡± (S) As she spoke for a long time, he changed his clothes comfortably, shrugged his shoulders indifferently, and headed towards the door. She wanted to leave the dressing room, but then he closed the door in front of her and leaned back against the door. He stares intently between the open blouse, his eyes even slightly dry. Somehow, her throat was tight and she had a fever. It¡¯s not like he¡¯s never made a face that he¡¯s going to eat her. She calmly turned around again, unbuttoned the last button, and took off her blouse. Only the bra remained along with the skirt. He suddenly laughed. ¡°Well. It¡¯s just pretty.¡± (J) ¡°Jin-ha-ssi.¡± (S) ¡°Not right now, just no. I told you.¡± (S) ¡°¡¡¡± (J) ¡°Is your memory that bad? You even signed it with your own hands.¡± (J) ¡°Even if there is a prenuptial contract, why do you have to hold on to a woman like me?¡± (S) ¡°I want to have sex, Hee-joo.¡± (J) ¡°¡¡¡± (S) ¡°So, I can¡¯t really hear what you¡¯re talking about.¡± (J) She got so angry that she threw the blouse she was holding at him. She was shocked but there was no swearing. But he casually picked up her blouse that had fallen in front of her feet and handed it to her. With that, the door was unblocked, so she hurried to get out of the dressing room. But he snatched her waist from behind. She was drawn to the door by him and she couldn¡¯t get out. Biting her earlobe, he whispers. ¡°I don¡¯t even want to listen because I¡¯m feeling a little bit horny today.¡± (J) ¡°For what, wait, let me go¡¡± (S) Her body was pushed through the door and turned around. His lips clasped hard at the same time, his hands were pushed in close to her bra, and his erect penis pressed against her stomach. She couldn¡¯t believe he was already erect. His grip on her ass was a bit cumbersome. Enough to make it a no-brainer for her to recklessly push him away. Now do it, put it on the door and do this. How funny would he look at her¡ Shim Hee-joo sharpened her teeth and lost the strength she had to resist. In the end, Woo Jin-ha will have sex the way he wants. As the power drained from her hand, the power disappeared from his grasp on her body. She felt like she was being careless and she tried to get away from him without realizing it, but she couldn¡¯t do it very well, and only her body, which had been engaged so deeply, fell while barely touching him.
