 Chapter 1 - A Whole New World

    ''Sigh this is so boring'' said a 16 years old teenager with short black hair and black eyes .he was sitting on his seat watching his classmates talking and laughing.


    He was bored watching them having fun while being alone with no one to even spare him a glance.


    He had an ugly face that was sore to the eye to watch yet he was smart the smartest of his classmates.His name was Noah.


    People despised Noah for his looks even though he was smart he didn''t have a single friend .He was alone since his childhood .


    When he was 7 years old, he lost his parents in a car accident . He had a rough life after that as he had to live with his grandparents who were devoid of life after their son''s death.


    Noah was often bullied by his classmates and no matter how much he tried to stand for himself, he would always end up being beaten half-dead .


    As ironic as his luck could be, today was his 16th birthday on his way back from school a car suddenly hit him sending him flying 3 meters .


    Noah was feeling pain all over his body but still he didn''t scream or call for help . On the contrary he was smiling.


    ''How could fate play on me such a joke twice in my life time? ''Noah said before shutting his eyes and lying on the street breathless .


    Noah opened his eyes and found himself in a white room that had no boundaries to it . It seemed like he was floating yet he could still feel the floor below him.


    "You woke up quite late , you should change that habit if you want to become a billionaire" the resounded in the white room.


    Noah promptly shifted his head to the right to be shocked and dumbfounded by the scene in front of him.


    He saw an old man with a long white beard in the room staring at him with a gentle smile. Noah was shocked to see the old man floating in the air like some fictional being he read in novels.


    "Who are you ?" Noah asked the old man .


    "Just a bored god looking for some thrill "the old man replied .


    The answer left Noah what an open mouth .


    ''If this is true and this man is a god , does this mean that I''m about reincarnate to another life ? But if that''s right then why the fuck did my luck have to end me up with some weird ugly old man instead of some goddess-like being?''


    Noah noticed the old man''s brows twitching in anger as if he did hear his thoughts.


    Sweat started accumulating on Noah''s forehead .


    ''So much stupidity for a clever guy'' he thought inwardly.


    "Ahem . I saw your tragic life and the unfairness of the heaven towards you so i came here to help you start a new one and hopefully it will be a good one this time as that will depend on your will and how much you are willing to change your fate" the old man said.


    "A new life? a good one ?" Noah asked unconsciously .


    "Yes a new life with a new beginning "the old man said to him.


    "You said you came here to help me Why? "Noah asked.


    "As i said before, he I''m bored and i want to give to you insignificant being a chance to change your fate"the old man said


    "Does that mean my next like life will be normal or at least decent ?" Noah asked


    "Well , not quite sure about that" the old man said while scratching his head .


    "Something''s fishy here " said Noah as he squinted his eyes at the old man


    "Haha , look you man ,life is never easy and people have to get their asses fucked to live comfortably and in your case more fucking required"the old man said while acting like he was raining wisdom at the young man.


    Noah didn''t know how to react to the old man''s words . He was left speechless but didn''t miss the meaning behind the old man''s words.


    It seems that I''m really getting old, I''m getting sleepy . Look young man your time to reincarnate has come , pondering about it won''t do you much so why don''t you go there and find out for yourself. I''m really looking out to how you''re going to change your fate or rather will you be able to change your fate?" the old man said before snapping his fingers.


    Noah suddenly felt everything around him became dark except a little hole that had some light coming from it.


    He tried to reach out his hands to the light but couldn''t move them as if he was restrained.


    He suddenly felt a hand grabbing into his head and pulling him towards the hole .


    Noah came out of the dark space he was in through the hole .


    He was in a big room decorated like in the middle ages. Before he could look any further a spank sound was heard and then felt .


    Spank ! Spank ! Spank !


    For some reason, Noah felt his ass aching . Just when he was trying to figure out what''s going on, he heard voices coming from around him.


    The first person Noah saw was an old lady. She was smirking at him like she was proud of something.


    Beside her, three servants were gasping


    While staring at him.


    " H-He''s..He''s alive " one of the servants muttered.


    "Of course he''s alive , who do you think the one who delivered him? Besides he''s a fighter that''s the least expected of him as one of the Raven family" the old woman said while puffing her chest . She handed the little baby to the the lying woman beside her .


    "here you go my lady . You see i told you he''s going to be alright" the old woman said to the mother lying on the bed.


    " Oh my little baby , you''re so beautiful and healthy "the woman said to the baby in a very gentle voice while tears were oozing out of her eyes .


    The woman kept shifting her eyes between him and the other baby girl that was sleeping soundly beside her .


    The woman was Noah''s mother her name was Lana . She was 20 years old with long silky black hair and a jade-like skin that was snow-white .Her pair of eyes were golden in color while her nose was small and hooked . She had a voluptuous body that would drive any man crazy .


    The little baby beside her was her daughter and Noah''s twin baby sister. Her name was Maya .


    She had two shining grayish eyes that sparkled with excitement .


    "Go inform sir Edgar of this news" the old woman ordered one of the servants .


    After a couple of minutes a 28 year old man came to the room rushing. He halted his steps when he saw his wife perfectly fine and two babies in both of her hands.


    He smiled as he proceeded his steps until he got in front of his wife he held Maya between his hands and looked right into her eyes .


    "I can sense it ,she''s gonna be a great daughter" Sir Edgar said as he put her back in her mother''s hand. He then glanced at Noah for a second before standing .


    "Take care of the child and make sure she''s perfectly fine"Edgar said to the old woman before exiting out of the room.


    The room was silent no one uttered a single word . The old woman looked at Noah pitifully ''sigh what a pitiful child'' she said with a dejected tone .


    Lana held Noah between her arms and kissed him on the forehead .


    "No matter whether what they think about you crippled or not I''ll give you all the love i can" she said to him with a caring tone in her voice .


    What no one expected is that Noah was fully aware of his surroundings.even though he didn''t understand their language he could still understand that he reincarnated in another world and these people were his new parents.


    ''At least I''m sure this is my mother ''he said inwardly.

 Chapter 2 - Cultivation World

    The world shadow reincarnated in looked just like the middle ages back on earth but it had some advanced technology that was mostly related to cultivation such as teleportation portals and other inventions


    Six months later, A child was in a big room filled with books and old scrolls .He was immersed in reading while smiling from time to time .This child''s name was Shadow .Shadow was Noah''s new name. His mother called him shadow as she expected him to be overshadowed by his sister and peers after all, she and everyone in the Raven family thought that he was a cripple and can never cultivate , so the best way for him was to live as a shadow in this world.


    This news came shocking to them as the doctors that were assigned to take care of Lana when she was pregnant told them that the boy will die before he''s born due to all his power points being closed and blocked by some power which they described as a curse.


    Shadow''s father was the fifth elder of the Raven family.He was a fierce man that always cared about power and how to lead his family to the top .


    He never cared about weaklings or mortals as they were seen like ants in the family .


    The Raven family was one of the strongest families in the kingdom of Gavaria.it was located in the west of The continent Vaslia.


    Vaslia had four kingdoms that were located in four different parts of it.


    Kingdom of Gavaria was in the west.


    Kingdom of Como was in the east.


    Kingdom of Thera in the north.


    And Kingdom of Aetas was in the south.


    They were all under the Empire of Prophis which was located in the middle of Vaslia continent.


    The Raven family was one of the prominent familes in the whole continent they had a huge number of strong cultivators which was obvious due to the hard training and nourishment they spend on their members.


    They had several branch families and according to their rules, weaklings or mortals are sent to the branch families when they reach the age of five after they fail the awakening ceremony which decides the core rank for each one of them so they don''t waste their resources on trash parasites .


    Shadow was six months old and he could already speak and read which surprised everyone in the family.he was a genius in their eyes yet cripple which ended him with more pity and disdain from people around him as most of them thought him being a genius was a waste of talent that shouldn''t be given to him.


    He was excited the more he read the more astonished he was .he came to know that this world was filled with powerful beings and terrifying existences that were roaming this world.


    People here were divided to mortals with no power


    and cultivators with super abilities .

    As Shadow grew older with his sharp perception and awareness he came to the realization of him being cripple or that''s what he heard from his mother and that was the same reason why his father didn''t pay to him much attention whenever he came checking for his sister .


    But deep down Shadow knew that there was more truth to his condition than the eye could see as he remembered what the god told him .


    Five years later.


    A four feet tall kid with dark blue eyes and a sharp nose was sitting on the bench of the training field watching other kids training. He had a long black hair which was oddly unique and different from other black haired people. He was so handsome with a cold look in his eyes that didn''t match his age.


    Beside him sat a 15 years old female that had a long indigo hair that reached her waist .Her eyes were light blue packed with her small nose and cherry lips , she was mesmerizing.This was Shadow and Maya''s second aunt and Lana''s younger sister, her name was Lisa.


    Lisa was holding Shadow''s hand while chatting with him. She would laugh from time to time .Her bond with nephews was quite strong as she was so attached to them.


    ''''Shadow tell me your opinion of Maya''s moves''''Lisa asked him.


    Shadow was focused on his sister ,who was holding to a wooden sword and while displaying her moves as she sparred with another girl that seemed to be in her age.


    he watched and scrutinized all her moves before turning his head and saying


    "Humm her moves are so accurate and fast she''s really standing out from the rest she''s a already levels a head of them " he said to Lisa as he turned to look at her.


    Lisa noticed Shadow hesitating before he stated his thoughts therefore she asked him with a smile


    "Oh come on don''t be like this ,i noticed you hiding some truth behind your statement''''.


    Shadow smiled before saying "i really can''t hide anything from you ,can i?"


    Lisa rolled her eyes upon hearing his statement as she knew how crafty her nephew was.


    ''''Well it''s true that she''s better than the rest of the kids of her age and doing just fine considering she''s just a five years old little girl i still think she can do better if she moved her right hand during the opponent''s attack to the left and continued with a waist slash " Shadow kept explaining as he demonstrate the moves to Lisa visually .


    Lisa chuckled when she saw him do that and struck him on the head lightly"argh why did you hit me " Shadow pouted


    "You act like you''re older than your sister when she''s actually older than you'''' Lisa said while smirking.


    She then turned her head towards the field before standing


    "Break time is up let''s continue our training " she said while walking towards Maya and the girl beside her .


    Maya has just knocked the girl she was sparring with when she noticed her brother and aunt coming towards her .


    "Hey brother did you see that ,i knocked Samantha with only 10 moves" she exclaimed while running towards them .


    "You just got lucky i tripped otherwise I wouldn''t lose to you"the girl who was on the ground rebutted as her face became red after seeing Shadow approaching them.


    the girl had long green hair with some curls and big green eyes .her long eyelashes were sported with green as well making her intoxicating .


    She was 5 years old and grew up together with Maya and shadow .Her name was Samantha the third child of the 4th elder .


    ''Ok let''s have some fun teasing Maya'' Shadow smiled as he approached his sister.


    ''''Good job Maya i really admire your swordsmanship and would like you to teach me some of your excellent moves''''.


    ''Huh brother is so sinister .He thinks i would fall for that? Humph let me kick his ass and embarrass him ''Maya said inwardly.


    ''''Ok brother let this big sister teach you some of her otherworldly moves '''' she said while puffing her chest.


    Lisa looked at both of them and sighed ''ahh these two devils are really cunning .. They never stop plotting against each other.

 Chapter 3 - Only One Move

    Both Maya and Shadow were facing each other waiting for the other party to make a move .


    all youngsters in the training field stopped their training when they saw fairy Maya was going to spar with the number 1 trash in the family her twin brother Shadow.


    Maya made the first move as she dashed towards Shadow slashing her wooden sword to his waist .


    Her move was quite fast as people barely saw it but Shadow had sharp perception even if he couldn''t follow her move using his eyes he could still expect where she was going to aim therefore he dodged slightly to the right which surprised Maya then he continued by slashing his sword towards her .


    Maya quickly dodged his thrust when she saw Shadow smirk.She could sense something was wrong when she hurriedly looked down to see Shadow''s left foot coming towards her legs.she couldn''t react in time which followed by Shadow knocking her on the ground and leisurely placing his sword on her neck.


    The training field became silent for a moment everyone thinking what just happened .


    One of the youngsters watching had his mouth wide open as he said '''' hhe .. he defeated fairy Maya with one move'''' everyone turned to look to the youngster who just said that before they came to realization.


    ''''Omg that trash is no joke ,he even defeated his genius sister with one move''''


    ''''Did she go easy on him because she didn''t want to embarrass him ''''


    ''''How did he do that I can''t believe what i just witnessed it must be because of that old sandwich i ate aargh that fucking old man he told me it had fresh meat''''


    People went into uproar discussing the scene that folded in front of them.


    Lisa,Samantha and Maya were staring at Shadow unbelievably.


    '' i think I overdid it a little'' Shadow said inwardly . He was so excited whenever he was involved in a fight he would always try to win he was a battle maniac .


    Shadow was always bored in his last life but this one this world everything about it was thrilling he wanted to venture it and meet new people , fight them and be at the top .


    ''''Are you alright darling?'''' Shadow said to Maya while stretching his hand to help her stand.


    "Humph i just slipped because i was tired from training for the whole day ,it''s not like i was paying much attention to our spar in fact i was thinking about mom''s delicious dinner while sparring so it doesn''t count '''' Maya said shamelessly as she dodged Shadow''s gaze


    ''''Hahaha well I can''t say that you''re wrong as big sister''s food is otherworldly'''' Lisa said while laughing trying to spare Maya the embarrassment.


    Samantha looked at Shadow with her sparkling eyes as if he was her idol then she turned to stare at Maya while stretching her tongue and laughing''''hahaha what a loser you lost to Shadow even though he is not even a cultivator''''


    '''' if you think you can defeat him why don''t you show us i might even learn something from you'''' Maya said playfully.


    ''Idiot, do you think I''m stupid enough to go against him he might not be as strong as us in the future but right now no one in the younger generation can defeat him ''Samantha said inwardly as she and everyone knew how genius Shadow is bit it still came shocking for them witnessing him defeat Maya in one move .


    Lisa was looking at Shadow and wondering''he''s improving faster than the rest of the kids he even defeated Maya with only one move this time I really can''t stand it how can this lovely smart and cute nephew be cripple ahh heaven is so unfair''


    Lisa saw Maya holding Shadow''s hand and laughing while heading home and remembered that tomorrow is the day of the awakening ceremony which will be Shadow''s last day in the family .she felt bitterness in her mouth as her heart ached .she was so attached to her nephews specially Shadow .


    '' I don''t know how she''s going to take the bitter truth tomorrow'' Lisa said while looking at Maya as she knew she had no idea of her brother leaving the family.


    Sir Edgar instructed that no one tell Maya of such news as he didn''t want her brother to hinder her cultivation . he knew how much the twin siblings loved each other.


    Maya and Shadow arrived in front of a big house that resembled a small castle it was so beautiful with trees surrounding it giving it a magical effect.


    They entered the house and a strong aroma of baking food struck their noses .


    They went to the kitchen and were welcomed by Lana .she proceeded and went to hug her lovely children filling them with kisses and smiles. Shadow noticed that her grip tightened around him and her eyes were teary ''ahh i guess this is as far as i can stay here . I''m going to miss my beautiful lovely mother and sister .they gave me love and made me feel the warmth of having a lovely family ''Shadow concluded and sighed while wiping the tears from Lana''s face without letting Maya noticed.


    Lana looked at her son and understood that Shadow must have known what''s coming as she knew how smart and sharp he was.


    They sat down around the table ready to eat when they noticed some heavy steps coming towards them.


    It was the sound of Edgar their father he rarely showed in this house .they knew only when he there was something important he want to say that he would come here and mostly it was related Maya.


    Maya didn''t really like her father because of his discrimination between her and her brother but she still listened to what he had to say.


    ''''Welcome Edgar we didn''t expect you coming''''Lana said.


    Edgar nodded at her and took a seat at the table.


    They started eating and after a while Edgar turned to face Maya and said''''Maya ,tomorrow''s the awakening ceremony I''ll come to take you to the main hall of the family in the morning so be ready.you should take some rest for the day and don''t worry I''m sure you''re going to have a core no less than a c rank''''


    Maya nodded at him with enthusiasm .


    ''''Good ''''Edgar said while standing he looked at Shadow and said ''''you should prepare to take part in the ceremony too'''' then he walked out of the room leaving them.


    ''So the family wants me to take part in the ceremony to make it official that I''m trash and don''t deserve to be amongst them'' Shadow said inwardly.

 Chapter 4 - Shadow’s Unfathomable Massage Technique

    Next morning


    The sun rose from the horizon ,birds tweeting and singing


    It was 5 AM when Shadow woke up.he started his morning routine with some jogging and exercise .after that he took a shower and headed towards the garden .


    He saw two beautiful females sitting around the table waiting for him .


    Shadow smiled and kissed his mother on the cheek ''''good morning mom ''''


    And gave another kiss to Maya ''''good morning my beautiful angel''''Maya''s cheeks turned red hearing him but she proceeded to greet him''''good morning Brother''''


    '''' So are you ready to impress everyone today?'''' Shadow said


    '''' Of course I''m ready I''ve been waiting for this day since i can remember.I''m going to make you two proud of me'''' .


    ''''good that''s the spirit I''m sure you''ll get an A rank core '''' said Shadow while sipping tea.


    ''''I know you think highly of me but to get an A rank core that''s almost an impossible feat you know''''


    The awakening ceremony was an event that was held in every power house and sect when the younger generation reached the age of 5


    .it was basically to gauge their talent by determining the energy in everyone''s dantian.


    Naturally the more energy one''s dantian can absorb the higher the core going to be .


    Cores were divided into several ranks F being the lowest while S being the highest.there were some terrifying beings that even surpassed the S rank .


    In the last five years, Shadow has been studying every single book and scroll in his family.


    He would start studying a book to finish it after 2 days .


    He had a huge amount of knowledge of this world be it places animals plants medicines he studied all he could get his hands on .


    Even though the Raven family''s library had variety of books of different categories it took shadow only one year to finish reading every book placed in there which was when he was only a year and a half .


    No one knew how scary talented Shadow was as they thought that he was just a curious kid staring at the pictures and patterns in the books.


    Shadow asked his mom to provide him with more books which she complied to .


    He tried his best to find a cure to his blocked power points as he did many experiences on animals and even on crippled people .


    He became proficient in his medical skills and could open the blocked power points of some mortals but still he couldn''t do the same to himself.there was some black energy flowing inside his body whenever he tried to examine his power points he would feel a sharp pain in every corner of his body.


    The human body has 49 power points and mortals could only open 2 power points while cultivators were able to open up to 10 power points . When someone could open more than 10 power points up to 25 these people would be geniuses. They would of course vary in talent according to how much power points they opened.


    No one has ever opened more than 25 power points it was an impossible feat .the more power points one have the more energy flows inside the body and the greater core one has.


    Shadow examined Maya and noticed that she had opened 19 power points which was an astonishing feat so he predicted that she will get an A rank core.


    ''Actually even if Maya doesn''t get an A rank core I''ll make sure for it to happen'' he murmured to himself.


    "Maya, i have recently learned a new technique to relieve the stress , it might sound simple and stupid but the effects are no joke. If you''d like i want to apply it to you before the ceremony "Shadow said while positioning himself in front of her.


    Both Maya and Lana looked at him weirdly not knowing what he was going to do.


    ''''Ok but make it quick your father is about to come any moment now'''' Lana said to him. She didn''t think much of it.


    Maya stood from the chair and faced Shadow not knowing what to do.


    ''''Just turn around it''s gonna be quick don''t worry'''' Shadow said to Maya while moving his fingers on Across her back.


    ''''Ahh ''''Maya let out a soft moan . There was a weird feeling she felt every time Shadow''s fingers touched her back .


    This was due to Shadow condensing a little amount of energy around his fingers . Even though he didn''t have a single opened power point he could still condense some energy from the surroundings into has hands which was something impossible to others.


    Shadow kept moving his fingers on Maya''s back as if they were dancing when suddenly he pressed all 10 of his fingers on her back.


    ''''Aaaaaahhhh '''' Maya let out a loud moan she was experiencing a strange energy surging inside her body.


    ''''Maya what''s wrong''''


    Lana panicked and moved quickly beside Maya but she came to a stop when she saw Shadow gazing at her .she understood that he had everything under control but still had a worried face watching them.


    Gales of energy started forming around them and directly being absorbed inside Maya''s body .Maya''s hair was glowing with a crimson color and her eyes shining crimson then a loud burst of energy came from her body that scattered the surroundings .


    Lana was a strong cultivator she quickly jumped beside Shadow and held him in his position to not move .


    After a couple of moments everything went back to normal .Maya turned her head toward Shadow and asked ''''what was that ? I felt energy flowing in every corners of my body it was so strong''''


    Shadow looked at both mother and daughter who were staring at him waiting for an answer''''it''s no big deal sis it''s just a special massage technique that i learned from an old book i just stimulated your body a little bit'''' Shadow said while shrugging his shoulders like it was nothing .


    Both Lana and Maya squinted their eyes and looked at him suspiciously when they noticed Edgar was coming toward them.


    ''''What happened here why everything is a mess '''' he said looking at the broken table they were having breakfast on minutes ago.


    ''''Ah actually i was just showing mother and brother a new move i learned the other day'''' Maya lied while scratching her head.


    She knew her father would be angry if he knew she let Shadow experience some technique on her.


    ''''You shouldn''t waste your energy before the ceremony come on let''s go ''''


    Edgar walked out of the house waiting for them to follow him.


    Lana ,Maya and Shadow looked at other before .


    ''''Maya could you and your father proceed before us i have something to discuss with your ur brother''''Lana said to Maya .


    Maya nodded and continued walking after Edgar''''Hmm don''t be late I''ll be waiting for you''''


    After Maya disappeared from their sight Lana held Shadow''s face with of her arms and said while crying'''' i guess you already know what''s going to happen after the ceremony right?''''


    Shadow looked into her eyes and said while smiling''''don''t worry mother I knew the rules of the family a long time ago.You should know it better than anyone that I''ll be fine i promise everything is gonna be alright''''


    Lana''s tears were falling profusely she couldn''t imagine how she could leave her beloved child she thought of the hard life he''s gonna have .


    ''''just wait for a little bit my love ,mother is gonna take care of everything i just need to become a little stronger before leaving the family and come to take you with me'''' she said as she tightened her hands around Shadow''s shoulders


    Shadow held her hand and kissed her trying to comfort Lana '''' hmm I''ll be waiting'''' .


    A huge crowd was surrounding a square platform.the platform was wide and could take more than 100 people .There was a 1 meter radius of a transparent ball . The ball was the artifact used to determine everyone''s core . A big screen like panel that showed what information about each person that will join the awakening ceremony was suspended in the middle of the hall.


    The family''s patriarch and elders were seated in a big room that was higher than the the platform .they watched the younger generation below them and discussed about each one of them.


    In the middle of the platform Maya was holding Shadow''s hand waiting for the ceremony to start.


    They were the center of attention .some thought that they were so beautiful like if they didn''t belong to this world while others had their eyes on Maya admiring her prowess .


    ''''What a surprise, isn''t that the trash of the Raven family why are you here to embarrass yourself and bring shame to your sister''''


    A male voice came out from a youngster with Short red hair he was 7 years old with black eyes and sharp nose his name was Eric he was The son of Evelyn, Lana''s oldest sister who was also an elder in the family she had two kids Eric and Grace , Grace was 5 years old ,she was a beautiful girl with red hair and black eyes she resembled a Phoenix . she was taking part in the ceremony while Eric who was a C rank with fire attribute came here to see the performance of his sister.


    ''''Brother stop bothering people just mind your own business'''' said Grace nonchalantly .


    Maya was about to speak when Shadow held her hand tighter and shook his head'''' he''s not worth it just focus on the ceremony''''


    Maya nodded and turned her head to see a middle aged man walking towards the platform .


    The hall became silent upon seeing the middle aged man they recognized him he was an elder of the family named Luke.


    '''' welcome everyone, today we will be conducting the awakening ceremony ,


    ''''please all participants step in towards the ball when you hear your names being called'''' elder Luke said.''''now let the awakening ceremony begins

 Chapter 5 - You Knew

    ''''Oliver Harold''''Elder Luke called one of the participants.


    A 3 feet tall kid walked up towards the transparent ball.


    '''' put your hand on the ball and try sending some of your energy into it''''elder Luke said to Oliver.


    Oliver followed elder Luke''s instructions and put his hand on the transparent ball.He condensed his energy in his hand and send it into the ball .


    A moment later ,The ball started changing color from transparent to green.


    Elder Luke nodded and said ''''good , you have awakened a D rank core ''''


    Oliver had a big l smile on his face. D rank was a decent core ,If he trained well in the future he could reach high stages of cultivation.

    Maya went and placed her hand on the ball sending threads of her energy into it.


    The ball was changing colors so fast as if it was mixing them together , no one could see what was happening as the ball continued changing colors at a magnificent speed.


    All the elders and patriarch stood from their seats their hands were shaking as all of them had a terrifying grin on their faces .


    Shadow was watching the ball with a nonchalant expression as he already anticipated the result .


    Suddenly a blinding light emerged from the ball and shot towards the sky . The whole empire could see the light . they looked at the light with amazed expressions as they only heard rumors about this phenomenon.


    "N-no w-way an S rank and light affinity? "


    Edgar murmured .


    "Hahaha congratulations Edgar . Now the only light summoner in the whole empire is from the Raven family ." a man in his early fifties laughed while patting Edgar''s shoulder , he was Clark Raven the patriarch of the Raven family.

    Shadow had a faint smile on his face as he stared back at Maya not caring about anyone present.

    Suddenly Shadow started moving towards Maya''s direction .he had an expressionless face .Just when he was going to pass her he stopped and leaned closer to her"somethings must be kept a secret"he whispered into her ears.


    She looked at him not knowing what to say but he was already gone on the stage . he expected it was his turn as the last participant left .


    No one noticed Shadow as they all were happily discussing about Maya .


    Finally ,only elder Luke noticed him as he was standing in front of him .


    "Ahmm you can start by transforming some of your energy onside the ball" elder Luke said.


    Shadow wasted no time .He stretched out his hand and placed it on the ball .he stood there without even trying to condense his energy because he knew he wouldn''t be able to do so but still he came to the stage and acted like he was doing just like the other kids did. He knew all of this was planned by his father .he wanted everyone to witness how trash he is so he can get rid of him as soon as possible to spare himself from the embarrassment of his son in the future.


    After a whole one minute elder Luke sighed and waved his hand to Shadow indicating him to stop .


    Shadow stopped placing his hand on the ball .


    People finally began to notice him .

    Lisa and Maya held each other''s hands both of them feel angry while crying. They couldn''t do anything with their current power .


    Maya was staring blankly at her father''s face .Suddenly her realization kicked in and that when she felt her heart aching she felt pain . She felt she was going to lose something inside of her yet on the outside she was perfectly fine.she turned her head towards her mother and Lisa when she noticed both of them crying. They were crying yet they seemed like they expected this to happen .she then realized something and quickly turned her head searching for Shadow''s expression.


    He stood there with an aloof face . He seemed alone yet he didn''t care about anything in the world. She realized that everyone knew about this except for her. She was about to speak when suddenly the patriarch''s voice rang out through the hall.


    "Hmm good as expected from you Edgar always put the family''s well being first,to be honest i was going to talk about this after the ceremony but you have already thought it throw " Patriarch Clark said while stroking his beard.

    Under a cherry blossom tree two youngsters a male and a female were seated on the bench .


    The girl was crying furiously while the boy had a calm expression with a light smile on his face

    Maya cried her heart out while burying her face in Shadow''s chest.


    "We both know that''s impossible ,this was destined to happen the from the moment i was born you should accept it too"


    "What do mean accept it how can i see you again we might never see each other in our entire life what if something happens to you there who''s going to protect you "Maya screamed at Shadow while hitting his chest with her small and delicate hands .


    Shadow lifted Maya''s chin and looked her in the eyes he smiled and and said " I promise you that we''ll see each other again"


    He continued and kissed her on her forehead .


    After a while the sun fell to the horizon and the sky turned dark Maya was sleeping in her brother''s arms .they were inside the house .Lana and Lisa were crying while preparing some clothes for him to take with .


    After a while it was already midnight . three carriages were in front of the family''s entrance.they were about to move .


    It could be seen that some families were crying watching their kids going inside the carriages .


    Shadow said his goodbyes to Lana and Lisa .


    They promised him to get him soon once they become a little stronger .


    Maya was asleep due to her constantly crying so Shadow preferred to leave before she wakes up. He knew she wouldn''t let him go if she were to see him leaving.


    Once the carriages started moving Shadow turned his head away from his family and looked at the road .he had a calm expression on his face .

    After three days , in the dark of the night three carriages were moving with utmost caution . They were moving on the cliff road of the mountain


    Two out of the three carriages had kids that were only five years old .each carriage contained 5 youngsters inside of it . The third carriage was a little bit bigger than other two and was taking m the lead .it had 5 guards they were assigned to accompany the youngsters to the branch family.


    Three men and two women . They were in the late stage of body refinement while one of the women who seemed to be in her middle twenties was in the first stage of the spirit realm she was the leader of the group .


    They were weak cultivators assigned to this mission because the Raven family didn''t really care whether these youngsters died or not.


    Shadow was sitting next to a girl and a boy and opposite to him was two boys and a girl they were all sleeping except Shadow.


    He had a weird feeling the whole journey'' i feel like something is missing .Edgar wouldn''t just let me go this easily because I''m sure he knows Maya would come and find me soon '' just as Shadow was thinking of all the possibilities he heard a shout coming from outside.


    Shadow leaned his head outside the carriage to see the driver''s chest was pierced with an arrow .


    Without second thoughts Shadow jumped out of the carriage and run towards the cliff edge.


    He halted when he reached the edge of the cliff and turned to see ten silhouettes masked in black surrounding the carriages.


    The gourds came out of the carriages to be surprised by the masked people''s cultivation.


    ''Fuck they are all in the spirit realm'' the leader woman said inwardly .


    "Who are you ? We belong to the Raven family you should know that if you touch a single hair of us you''ll be doomed " the leader woman shouted at the silhouettes .


    "Hahahaha did you guys hear what she said?"


    One of the masked man laughed out loud .


    " do you think the family would investigate what happens here when they are the ones who gave the orders?"


    The masked man said with a big grin on his face that was visible through the mask.


    The leader guard''s heart skipped a beat while the kids that woke up from the commotion were now shivering.


    The masked silhouettes didn''t stay still any longer . They headed towards the guards with a fast speed . The leader guard was surprised and before she could do anything she saw her group of guards decapitated .She turned to run but couldn''t move then she lowered her head to see her waist was cut in half


    Thud!


    Hear upper half fell to the ground .


    The masked silhouettes continued their way towards the carriages. A silhouette conjured two balls of flames in his hand and threw it at the carriages.

    Screamed of agony rang through the mountain range as the kids were being burned alive .


    Shadow watched the scenes in front of him from afar and before the masked silhouettes could even realize his existence he jumped down the cliff .

 Chapter 7 - System Awakening

    In a large dark forest filled with magical beasts, a handsome teenager who seemed to be 16 years old with sharp facial features was hiding his presence while standing on a big tall tree .


    He was looking at the magical beast below him waiting for it to get closer to the bait .


    The magical beast resembled a mixed creature of wild boar and bull.it was 2 meters tall .


    The magical beast got closer to the bait which was placed 10 meters away from the tree the teenager was hiding in .


    Whoosh


    Once the magical beast reached the bait a sharp knife pierced right between it''s eyes .


    Plop


    The magical beast dropped on the ground without making a move .


    The teenager boy got down from the tree and walked leisurely to the corpse .


    "Sorry pal nothing personal but I''m hungry too" the boy said to the corpse .


    He carried the corpse and kept walking towards the cave that was situated near the river .


    The teenager boy was non-other than Shadow .


    After Shadow jumped the cliff he fell in the river . This river was situated in the dark forest which was known as one of the most dangerous places in the kingdom of Gavaria.


    It had countless number of magical beasts roaming it. People rarely entered the forest due to it''s immense danger .


    After surviving the fall, Shadow woke up three days later on the bank of the river .


    Shadow had read a lot of geographical books so once he examined his surroundings he knew where he was .


    ''Hmm the Dark forest . A dangerous place filled with powerful magical beasts . No one would dare enter the forest unless being familiar with it. Lucky for me i have enough knowledge to avoid the areas of the strong magical beasts . Besides I don''t really have a choice at the moment I''m very weak .if i were to be spotted by one of the family I''ll be killed instantly as they already think I''m dead anyway''


    After making his decision, Shadow lived in the Dark forest for 11 years . Despite not being a cultivator, Shadow refined his combat skills to the maximum level a normal human being would get .

    The dragon was injured but not by the other magical best . It looked like it was injured from the inside .

    Shadow aimed his knife at the head of the beast . The beast''s instinct kicked in as it felt it was in danger . The beast quickly slashed it''s claws to the direction of Shadow.


    Shadow dodged the attack swiftly and kept dashing to the head of the beast .He thrusted


    his knife as hard as he could but with his current strength he barely managed to pierce 2 inches into the head of the beast .

    Even though the cut was small but the poison on the tip of the knife was enough to make it scream in agony .

    After a good minute of roaring madly and furiously the magical beast dropped on the ground .


    Shadow checked the magical beast just in case but the beast was already dead.

    The nearest city to the dark forest was named Akaby. It was a small city located to the north of the dark forest.


    Shadow arrived at the city gates and saw 2 guards standing at the entrance.


    The guards looked at Shadow disdainfully as he was almost naked with a only one piece of clothes covering his the area between his legs . His long black hair hid his face which Shadow made it look that way purposefully because he didn''t want people to recognize him as the crazy naked guy.

    Mia burst in tears, she was crying in delight after hearing shadow''s words.

    The corpses belonged to the guards that Shadow knocked down and Mia slaughtered . They were inside the slums of Laston city , and this building in particular governed a human trafficking gang.

    " Once we finish dealing with this gang , we''ll head back to the inn so you can cultivate the blood you absorbed" Shadow said to her

    After he added Mia , he invited her . Suddenly her character appeared right next to him.

    Grace didn''t know that Mia has just finished her breakfast as she wasn''t here a couple minutes ago . It still looked weird for her to see a tray with clean dishes in front of Mia , but she thought that Ralph must''ve interrupted her before she was going to fill her dishes.

    The cook prepared the food just as Shadow wished and handed the dishes to him , but before Shadow could leave a bulky guy stood in his way.

    People went into an uproar upon seeing Shadow use the dark element spell. It was obvious to everyone that he was the dark Summoner . The one who was said to be the rarest and strongest among all other elements.


    Shadow started walking leisurely towards miss Nancy and her underlinings while his body emitting dark floating threads . The ground below him ,was being corroded with the waves of dark fire surging from his legs . It covered more than 5 meters ahead of him. He was walking with a nonchalant expression which scared miss Nancy and her group even more.


    "Shall we start now? Shadow said before dashing with his full speed toward a 2nd stage earth realm cultivator and smashing his head to the ground. The 2nd stage earth realm cultivator didn''t have the time to comprehend what happened before his head was exploded by Shadow .

    They were watching Shadow for quite sometime. They didn''t really care to know his name in the entrance test and even if they did it would still be hard to recognize the current Shadow with the one who was supposed to be killed 10 years ago. His looks and his powers couldn''t be related to the old Shadow in anyway after all , even though he was handsome in the past , His charm stats kept increasing which changed most of his facial features and they were only 5 years when they last saw him , so it''s safe to say that they didn''t recognize him.

    The young man who just spoke had a familiar red head , he was Eric .


    Eric kept staring at Shadow with a murderous gaze but didn''t say anything.


    "So you mind telling me who are you again?" Shadow asked.


    "I''m Eric Raven , we are from the Raven family, one of the nine great families, you must''ve heard about us " Eric said .


    "Oh .." Shadow was a little surprised after knowing who Eric was .


    "Seeing your reaction i guess you recognize our family. you should now release her as she''s from the Raven family as well " Eric said .

    Shadow snapped his fingers and the three mirrors shattered immediately.

Even though he was facing the light summoner, the only element user that would be his opponent, he was still calm nevertheless even winning the fight.

    In another large hall , two men were facing each other . One of them was wearing a black uniform that belonged to the students of the night start academy , while the other man who seemed to be in his early forties was wearing black clothes with a golden star on his chest , he was the academy''s president, his name was Theodore.


    "I was surprised to know that one of my academy''s students had the dark affinity while hiding it from everyone else" Theodore said with an amused expression.


    "Well to be honest i wasn''t hiding it , it''s just no one asked me about my affinity so of course I didn''t bother going around and saying it myself " Shadow replied with a calm expression.


    "You killed eleven students today so crippling you is the least punishment you should receive " Theodore said but still with the same happy expression on his face.


    "I really want to see you do that but you wouldn''t do it , would you?" said Shadow with a smirk on his face .


    ''He''s not stupid. He knows I can''t lay a finger on him after all even if he has the dark affinity, it''s almost impossible for him to get a dark spell without a very powerful background helping him specially after being exiled from his family'' Theodore said inwardly.


    "Well I won''t do that of course as your presence in the school is more useful to me . I will ignore the incident under one condition though " Theodore said .

That place has many trials which are filled with treasures and wonders . We want those treasures " Theodore said.

    " You said the realm is filled with powerful cohabitants which means that they must be unhappy about us coming to their home and basically rubbing their treasures, so why don''t you tell me how many students come alive after they enter the divine realm?" Shadow asked with a solemn voice .


    "Well it''s seem that you''re a clever one aren''t you? . Anyway it''s not like you have a choice in your situation " Theodore replied with a nonchalant expression.

    " after a year of your departure, my father came and informed us of your death. He said that some assassins that belonged to one of the nine great families killed you when you were outside the perimeter of the branch family " Maya said with sorrowful look on her face .


    "Maya , that''s a lie , there was no such an occurrence your father lied to you" Shadow said


    Maya''s expression changed from sorrowful to shock

After i left the family, he sent the assassins to kill me on my way to the branch family , but luckily i noticed their presence before they could reach to me and hid from them . I saw the whole tragic they did to the kids who were with me . They burned them alive while smiling. I could still remember the screams of pain the kids were shouting , he killed all of them just so he could get rid of me" Shadow said with a nonchalant expression on his face but deep inside he was burning with rage .


    " Y-You''re kidding right? Father wouldn''t do that to his son , he was the one who always told me to get stronger and avenge you" Maya wanted to not believe his words as she started trying to convince him.


    "Maya who do you think was the one who ordered for me to be exiled from the main family ? Who was the one who hated me for being cripple? Who was the one who always looked at me with disdain? And do you really think that i would lie to you about such a thing if I didn''t hear the assassins myself?" Shadow tried to use logic with his sister as he knew that Edgar has washed her brain completely with his thoughts.

    "And what''s the conditions for participating in the competition?" Shadow asked.


    "Aside from the entering fee which is 10 gold coins for each team , the participants must be under the age of 25 . Everyone is allowed to take part in it as long as you don''t have a criminal record and meet the required conditions " she said .


    ''It''s true that the fee condition might seem harsh but I''m sure it''s just to prevent common people from joining in after all , even if 10 gold coins was a high price for the common people , it''s nothing for those powerful families and cultivators whose the competition was made for in the first place ''Shadow pondered

    Shadow opened his eyes and lifted his body from the bed . He didn''t see Clara in her bed so he thought she might have gone to the cafeteria.

    After yesterday''s event , a lot of students came to the cafeteria to see the so called "Dark Summoner " .

    A group of four students approached them. The group consisted of two girls and two boys . Shadow recognized one of the girls , she was Clara .


    "Hello Shadow , this is my team the wolfs i told you about ." Clara came to introduce the students next to her.


    She then continued " Can we join you?"


    "Hm" Shadow nodded in acceptance.


    "Hello my name is Henry, the leader of the team and these two are Philip and Julia " The bulky guy Henry said with a smile on his face .

    The group frowned a little after seeing the uninterested look on both Shadow''s and Mia''s faces .


    "Ahem " Clara cleared her throat when she saw the awkward silence.


    " You''re the famous S- rank student huh , it''s interesting yet strange to see you both talented individuals join our academy at once , but no one knows a thing about you too" Clara spoke.


    " We don''t like to attract attention " Mia said .


    Almost everyone on the table spat their drinks and foods the moment they heard her reply .


    ''Yeah clearly '' said Julia the girl with short light blonde hair girl with a bittersweet smile. She was in the cafeteria yesterday when she witnessed the show of Shadow smashing and killing everyone of Nancy''s group.


    Henry looked at both Shadow and Mia before saying


    "I won''t beat around the bush , we want you two to join our team " he said.


    Shadow wasn''t surprised to hear his offer as it was only normal for him-the dark summoner- to get invited to other teams .


    "Sorry but I''ll pass however you can still ask Mia if she wants to join you" Shadow said .


    "I''ll pass too " Mia responded almost immediately.


    Even though the wolfs team''s members were surprised a little to how fast they were rejected, they still tried to recruit them .


    "If you join our team , you can have many privileges in the academy " the short black haired guy Philip said .


    "Not just that , but also more authority among the students of the academy and a monthly payment of 20 gold coins for each of you " Henry said .


    " It''s indeed an enticing offer , but we are not planning of joining any team at the moment " Shadow replied.


    " Is it because of your sister? Are you going to join the Ravens team?" Henry asked with an expression of disturbance showing on his face.

    " Congratulations, you two seem like a good couple , hope nothing comes between you two" he said with a sinister grin.


    Mia noticed his sinister smile but didn''t know what it was about.


    "Congratulations" Mia said.


    "Thank you " Henry responded with a happy smile .

 Chapter 36 - Miss Sally

    After sometime, everyone left the cafeteria and headed towards their classes .


    Mia and Shadow went to the chemistry class which was also their first lecture ever about chemistry. Even though Shadow has never been taught by a chemistry professor or master he was still proficient in that field due to his high perception since he was young and the amount of books and scrolls he read at the Raven family''s library. He had conducted many experiments on animals , people and even himself . It was safe to say that he wasn''t lacking in that field at all. Of course his skills were above decent but when compared to high level chemistry masters he wasn''t on the same bar as them .


    After all the students sat on their seats , a woman with a pink hair and an hour-glass figure entered the lecture hall . Her eyes were also pink which were perfectly matched with her glasses . Her bosom was quite big and her butt was even bigger . She seemed to be in her middle twenties which gave her the charming of an adult and youth at the same time . The moment she entered the hall most of the students''s mouths were drooling saliva upon seeing her .


    The pink haired professor went to the blackboard and started writing something .


    "Miss Sally " were the words written on the blackboard.


    "Welcome everyone to the chemistry class . My name is Sally and I''ll be your professor in your first year of the academy " she said while looking at the students.


    "I will start our first lecture today by introducing the importance of chemistry and why everyone should have a little knowledge in this field " she spoke


    "Most of you know the importance of chemistry in the cultivation world but for those who don''t I''ll be explaining it in more details . Every single cultivator uses chemistry in his/her daily life in many different forms be it healing portions , pills or many different substances that vary in uses . Chemistry can heal external and internal injuries. It can strengthen or weaken any part or organ of the body so it depends on the way it''s used in as it could be a lethal weapon for some or a bless for others . This is just a poor explaining of the fields it could be used in but we won''t go explaining everything in this lecture " Miss sally said.


    Miss sally kept explaining more things about chemistry which was an eye opening for most of the students who didn''t know the full extent of chemistry uses.


    Shadow was excited at the beginning of the lecture as he thought he would widen his horizons in this field but after listening to miss Sally he lost interest and got bored . He knew the juicy stuff would come later on but he still hoped for something . On the contrary to Shadow , Mia was all ears opened for miss Sally''s words . Even though Mia belonged to a big family, she had no knowledge of chemistry or any other topic at all. She was always sick and stayed at home surrounded by servants and had no interaction with such subjects .


    "That will be all for today''s lecture . We will be more practical in the next one" miss Sally said before exiting the hall.


    "What a waste of time " Shadow said inwardly .


    Both Mia and Shadow left the hall and went to other classes .


    After the day was getting darker, students began heading to their respective rooms.


    Shadow went to his room after bidding Mia . He entered inside and noticed Clara lying in the bed like visual field which was provided by the academy.


    Shadow showed a little smirk before he lay on his bed . He closed his eyes before sending his consciousness to his visual field .


    He was transferred to the white empty room .


    "Let''s have some fun " he said before choosing the option " join a competition ".

 Chapter 37 - The Devil Is Back

    After choosing the option "join a competition " , Shadow was transferred to a suspended arena . The arena was floating in the air with no base or columns to support it.


    When Shadow looked around he noticed that the floor was made of transparent glass . The scene made him look like he was was floating mid air .


    Shadow wasn''t exactly in the middle of the arena . He and four other people were on the side of the arena surrounded by red laser-like bars. It resembled more like a cage than a room.


    The floating arena was surrounded by a magnificent audience that was seated on a higher level seats than the arena .


    '' This is reminding me of the prison where gladiators were put in while waiting their turn during arena fights '' Shadow thought.


    The people next to Shadow noticed his strange appearance . They thought the way he looked was oddly familiar even though they have never met him before.


    "I know you . You are the so called Devil the cheater that crushed his opponent ruthlessly on his first match " a voice resounded from the people next to Shadow.


    The other three participants and Shadow turned to look at the source of the voice . The one who spoke was a teenage boy with brown hair . The boy seemed older than Shadow but his strength was much weaker.


    "Cheater?" Shadow raised his eyebrows .


    "Yes , everyone was talking about you the one who has weird clothes and hide his face with some strange mask feature." The boy replied .


    "So because of my odd character design you guys deemed me as a cheater ? " Shadow said sarcastically .


    " When you are the only one with such features of course we''re going to deem you as a cheater or how else are you gonna explain the way you look?" The brown haired guy asked.


    "It''s no secret that there are different visual fields out there and every single one of them provides exclusive features to the user so why can''t i be just another one of those users?" Shadow questioned .


    "What you said is actually correct but not in your case" said a black haired girl, she was one of the other three participants .


    "Huh ? What do you mean? " Shadow asked while turning his head towards her.


    "It is true that every visual field device permits exclusive features to its user but all these features are known by the public and none of them has such features as yours" the girl said.


    The other three nodded in acceptance.


    "If it''s not out there in the public doesn''t mean it doesn''t exist" Shadow said.


    "Are you saying that your visual field device is not known by others?" The boy asked.


    Shadow didn''t reply to him as he showed a devilish smile under his mask .

    Everyone''s attention was shifted to the sudden explosion in the arena .


    On the arena , two men were fiercely clashing with each other . One of them was deeply wounded in his left hand while the other one seemed exhausted .


    "Why don''t you just give up ? You know that you don''t have a chance to win this competition so you might as well spare me the effort of wasting my power on you " the one in good condition said .


    "Either way , they''re both going to lose . He has almost no energy left " murmured Shadow to himself.


    The girl heard Shadow''s words so she started explaining. "Not exactly, rules might differ from one competition to another, this one for example , you don''t have to get a set amount of consecutive victories to win the competition, you just need to defeat your opponent and advance , winners will eventually meet each others and the last one will be titled as the winner of the competition "


    "How convenient " Shadow replied .


    "How foolish . You really are an amateur after all" one of the men said sarcastically.


    Even though these people were used to these kind of battles and had some experience, they would never take it lightly. They knew how hard it was to defeat an opponent in the arena unless one has the lady luck on his/her side and were faced by someone with many times weaker cultivation than him/her .


    Shadow''s remark wasn''t out of foolishness on the contrary he never underestimated his opponents but most importantly he never underestimated himself . He knew that with his abilities it wasn''t impossible to defeat all the participants.


    Back to the arena , the fight has ended . There was only one man standing while the other was lying on the floor .


    The wounded man lost the match leaving the arena almost half conscious.

 Chapter 38 - The Ruthless Girl

    "I don''t want to bully a tender girl like you so how about surrendering now before the match begins" said one of the other participants with a hoarse voice. The man had a bearded face and a big fat nose . His lips were quite big for a guy while both of his eyes were small .The way he was smiling to the girl sent shivers down people''s spine . They weren''t actually afraid of him , it was more like they were disgusted. His weird face coupled with that smile wasn''t pleasing to the eye.


    "piggy face " mumbled the girl in a low voice .


    Her little remark didn''t skip the man''s ears . His face turned red then blue , his nostrils became as wide as an anal in action ,his eyebrows collided with each other like two heavy swords in the middle of a battle while his wrinkles curled up to the point that he wasn''t looking like a pig anymore but a cute little pitbull.


    Surprisingly the man didn''t bark back at the girl , he just continued taking his steps to the middle of the arena .


    "Dude you better spit it out or else you''re gonna die before the match even begins" Shadow shouted to the man after seeing him struggling to keep his cool.


    "Fuck off" shouted the man while holding his axe with extreme difficulty .


    "You''re courting death by provoking him , he''s obviously an experienced cultivator and his weapon is no joke so you might want to back off a little bit " said the brown haired guy to Shadow.


    "Fuck off wimp" replied Shadow without turning his head . His eyes were focused on the man''s weapon .


    ''That''s my first time seeing a graded weapon that powerful even though it''s just at the 3rd rank its power could still be the winning factor of any battle''

    After the robotic sound , the battle began.


    The black haired girl dashed towards the bearded man . She conjured a two-meters spear made of water and shot it at the bearded man with an incredible speed .


    The bearded man didn''t try to dodge the coming spear , he slashed his axe vertically at the coming attack . The spear and the axe collided and the water-spear exploded in many directions as it stood no chance against the mighty attack of the bearded man .


    "Is that your bes¡ªfuck " without giving him a chance to celebrate, two more spears were coming at the bearded man from both directions .


    Just when the spears were about to hit the bearded man, a rocky wall stood between him him and the spears


    Splash!


    The spears hit the wall with a massive power behind them but couldn''t penetrate the wall.


    "Sly bitch" the bearded man cursed before taking the initiative to attack for the first time .


    Just when he stepped outside of the rocky wall , small water fragments were shot at the man like bullets .


    The bearded man didn''t stop on the contrary he started running towards the black haired girl who was five meters away from him and slashed his axe in the air horizontally. A brown wave of energy spurted out from the axe and swept the whole arena while dissipating the water fragments as it continued heading towards the black haired girl.


    ''Now it''s a must for me to get a strong graded weapon as soon as possible '' Shadow was amazed by the power of the axe. He knew that if he had a graded weapon it would aid his combat abilities by quite a margin .


    "Vasli bian su " the black haired girl muttered some unfathomable words with strange hand signs and the next moment a huge mutated shark appeared next to her.


    The shark''s color was black and on its body there was white marks. Its eyes seemed dead yet ferocious. Such an odd scene was scary to look at.


    "How the hell can you use that?!!¡ªno where did you get that" the bearded man shouted his lungs out .


    No one was surprised to see the bearded man panic as they themselves were more surprised by the spell the black haired girl just used .


    "That''s a rank-4 water spell. Having such a high rank spell must mean that either the girl is lucky enough to come a cross such a treasure by coincidence or she comes from a really powerful background" the brown haired guy expressed his thoughts.

    "The girl''s username is Susie18 , I''m a big fan of her . You guys should''ve seen her last matches , she wiped the floor with her opponent''s asses . I don''t think i can i see anyone more ruthless than her "


    On the the spectators seats , people were recalling the black haired girl Susie last matches and her past battles .

 Chapter 39 - Not Bad

    The spectators kept talking about the black haired girl named Susie while the battle continued on.


    The powerful wave of energy that spurted out of the axe collided with the black shark .


    The collision almost destroyed the arena floor but thanks to its special effects, the powerful wave was absorbed .


    "Hahaha I sure overestimated your spell. I knew there was something odd going on here .


    After all, whatever spell you used , it''s definitely not a rank-4 no it can''t be a rank-4 otherwise, i wouldn''t be standing here perfectly fine " the bearded man laughed like a maniac after seeing the black shark being destroyed by his axe''s attack.


    "How is that even possible? i know for sure that it was a rank-4 spell, so how could it be that easy to deal with?" The brown haired guy spoke out loud .


    "what a powerful spell" Shadow murmured to himself.


    "Hey kid, are you dumb or perhaps blind?" A blonde man in his middle twenties said sarcastically.

    The blonde man was angered hearing Shadow''s words. He was about to refute but stopped for some reason. He lifted his head promptly towards the direction of the arena as if he could sense something.


    Back to the arena, while the bearded man was happy for defeating the girl''s spell , the ground below him started shaking.


    "What the fuck is goingggghhh" just when he was about to look down , the ground beneath him shattered. The black shark spiraled out of the ground like a tornado. Its jaws were wide open showing the corroded fangs inside its mouth like some machine ready to cut rock and iron with ease .


    The shark''s attack was so fast that the bearded man didn''t even have the chance to think about scaping .


    Like a sweet snack, the shark devoured the bearded man in one bite .

    The whole place was dead silent . People were surprised by the turn of events, they all expected the bearded man was going to win the fight but surpassingly he was eaten alive . They all knew that he didn''t die and just got disqualified from the competition but the scene in front of them wasn''t pleasing at all . It was a well-known fact that the pain felt in the visual field is real , so what the bearded man felt is still the same thing he would''ve felt in real life.


    "Fuck me, how did i miss it?!!" The blonde man cursed himself. He was staring at Shadow while sweating profusely . ''He saw it coming from the beginning. I don''t know whether I''m lucky or not for not being the one m facing that girl'' the man thought to himself while looking at Shadow.


    In the spectators seats, people were cheering and shouting. Everyone was amazed by how powerful the girl Susie was .


    Slowly and leisurely Susie left the arena and went her way back to the participants place . She was proud of her self , thinking that everyone''s was astonished and more importantly frightened by her spell and how she manifested it perfectly. She had a little smile on her face seeing the other participants shifting their gazes away from her but her smile came to an end upon hearing Shadow''s words.


    "Not bad , you really surprised me out there" Shadow said in a calm manner.


    Susie stopped. She looked at Shadow while raising her eyebrows confusingly " not bad ?" She muttered in a low voice.


    "Are you seriously describing my spell not bad ?" She asked angrily.


    "I wasn''t talking about the spell. I was talking about your performance" Shadow replied.


    "What performance?" Susie was confused after all , wasn''t her performance another way to say that she sucks at using her spell?.


    "I was talking about the way these boobies danced through out the battle, their performance wasn''t bad at all , I''m sorry i didn''t notice them before , they are quite big" Shadow said in a apologetic tone.

 Chapter 40 - Disqualified

    Everyone in the arena was stunned by Shadow''s shameless remark. The three male participants were sweating heavily, now that they saw what Susie was capable of , they looked at her in a new light. She looked no more than 18-19 yet she used a rank-4 spell perfectly, that feat alone showed how much talent she has.


    Rank-4 spells and above weren''t commonly used by cultivators. Aside from being relatively rare because of how big powerhouses limited them for the public , it was almost impossible to master and use them practically in a battle at such a young age .


    Susie stopped her steps , she stood like a stone in the middle of arena. She was as regarded a genius in her family, everyone treated her with utmost respect her entire life but yet here this guy in front of her molested her verbally in front of all these people.     The shark''s speed was too fast and it was late to stop it by now, but even then , Susie had no intentions to stop it .

    The shark''s body hit the barrier robustly that the collision sound reverberated in the entire place but to everyone''s surprise, the barrier was standing still without even a single crack on its surface . Contrary to the wall , the shark vanished from the arena like it never existed , even Shadow was surprised by the might of the barrier .


    ''Fuck fuck fuck, what the fuck is wrong with me ? I know I always hated beta mc in Japanese mangas but this still counts as harassment. These sudden actions doesn''t match with my thoughts . It can''t be that these action are actually coming from within my subconscious mind otherwise I would be a pervert. If i keep acting like this every time i see an attractive girl i might get myself in situations I can''t get out of this easily . Thanks to this barrier I didn''t have to use my trump cards here'' Shadow thought while sweating.

    Before Susie could reply , her body disappeared from the arena . It was obvious that the system banned her from the competition so no one thought much of it .

    "If only she could have restrained her anger for a little bit longer, we would have been able to see that pervert suffering "

No one knew why but everything about him looked so charismatic . It was like by default that most boys had jealous eyes while others looked up to him wishing to be like him even though they didn''t know him or the way he looked , specially for the present girls, it was like they were looking at their idol . All of that was due to the effect of his high charms stat .


    "You might have gained some confidence after winning one match in the visual field arena , but you would be an idiot for assuming that you can repeat the same feat here today." The blonde guy said .


    He was at the peak of the 1st stage of earth realm. Even though he had some doubts about Shadow minutes ago, they all vanished after seeing the pervert side of Shadow. It was like all his past thoughts about Shadow were forgotten .
