《Jurassic Descent: I Can Evolve in My Dreams》 Chapter 1 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare He woke up from the dark chaos. Haman wiped the sweat off his head and looked at the thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy at the door. ¡°Holly, did anything happen?¡± Haman asked. The full name of the child who was called Holly was Holly Bacha. Holly looked kind and very innocent. However, he was guarding the door with a very rough bone knife in his hand.. It was late at night. He looked very sleepy, but he did not close his eyes because he had to watch at night. Holly shook his head and said, ¡°It¡¯s okay. What¡¯s wrong with your brain? Can¡¯t the doctor in town tell what the problem is?¡± ¡°You don¡¯t have to worry about this. I¡¯m not sick,¡± Haman said firmly. ¡°It¡¯s almost dawn now. I¡¯m going out to hunt. You can sleep for a while and go to church on time.¡± ¡°Okay.¡± Holly nodded in a low mood. ¡°What¡¯s the use of doing well in the study in this doomsday world?¡± ¡°It¡¯s useful when I say it!¡± Haman¡¯s expectations were unquestionable. ¡°I¡¯m going out to hunt too.¡± Holly pursed his lips. ¡°Who¡¯s going to keep watch at night if something happens to you? Am I? No, I¡¯m already unconscious.¡± Haman stood up and prepared to go to the center of the market town to fetch water. After daybreak, it would be less dangerous in the town. It was a lawless place, whether outside or inside the town, in the night of the apocalypse. ¡ The blue sky above was azure, while the sunlight was dazzling without clouds in the sky. The sunlight was not so gentle even if there was howling wind in the wilderness, and it was still stuffy and hot on the ground. The young man Haman lay in the grass half the height of a man, then he frowned. He thought he had bad luck today since there was still no prey as the sun was about to rise to the highest. Some people say that you must pay attention to dinosaurs when you are walking in the wilderness. But Haman felt this was not entirely correct because too many things in the wilderness could kill people. Even the sun above would kill people as long as they stayed in the scorching sun for one hour. However, Haman still did not move if he could not catch any prey today. He and Holly would probably starve to death before they were taken away by the various accidents in the wilderness. Suddenly, Haman heard the sound of withered grass trampled; he suddenly stared but did not make a sound. There was a rope hanging by him with a tree branch not far in front. The rope was tied into a knot and placed on the ground. And there was a small handful of grain in the middle of the knot. There was also a stone slab not far away. That animal stood beside the rope and watched with a sharp look. Haman had seen the dinosaur illustrated handbook from the city and thought that this dinosaur should be the parvicursor mentioned there. He had heard about it when he attended the course as an auditor in the church of the Dragon God. The parvicursor that was extinct in history was only a few dozen centimetres long, and it weighed less than three chicken eggs. Haman felt that it must be impossible. The parvicursor in front of him was more than a meter long, and it weighed at least 15 kilograms. It stood in place, twisting its long neck and combing the few feathers on it, while Haman waited motionlessly. It seemed that the parvicursor had finally let down its guard and began to poke its head into the grains slowly. It moved as quickly as a thief. However, when it finally stuck its head into the knot and was ready to peck at the grains, Haman suddenly pulled the rope with great force. Then, he jumped up and rushed toward the parvicursor like a wild horse out of control. Before the parvicursor could break free from the knot, he used all his strength to use the stone slab beside him to press down on the parvicursor firmly. ¡°Hu ~¡± Haman exhaled a mouthful of turbid air. He had waited for long for this prey. However, it was happy was that today¡¯s effort had not been in vain. You had to know that even Haman could not catch such prey every day. The prey struggled under the stone slab, and it scraped against the stone slab with its sharp claws. At this time, the clock in the market town sounded. Haman looked back. He didn¡¯t know when he would be able to leave the shelter with Holly and go to the distant city. For him, it was desirable and blissful to live in the city. There was no need to face the dangers in the wilderness. However, it was not easy to get in. At this time, the movement under the slate became a little less. Then Haman pressed the prey into the soil with his weight and the slate, making it struggle harder. He sighed and confirmed that the dragon-slaying spike in his hand could still work. Then he put it into his pocket. Later, he slowly made a gap from the stone, took the wooden stick and reached under the stone slab. He tried to find the head of this parvicursor. It was not always so unlucky in life. Haman found the head of his prey as soon as he reached in with the wooden stick. Then he pulled the stick out. The wooden bar, which was as thick as an arm, had been broken, and there were apparent teeth marks on the broken end. Haman was happy, and he cleanly moved the stone slab back. Then, he slowly moved the stone slab and revealed half of the head of the prey. And he pulled out the dragon-slaying spike neatly from his arms. It was a sharp black spike about twenty centimetres long. Haman turned the handle of the dragon-slaying spike, which emitted a red light on its top. He aimed the sharp spike at the head of the parvicursor and ruthlessly stabbed down,The moment the red light on the sharp spike came into contact with the red light on the parvicursor, they merged like water and milk. And the sharp spike was also pierced into the head of its prey smoothly. Haman suddenly felt a little heartache because he had just discovered that. There were a few holes in his clothes. They should have been worn out when he was hiding in the grass. Suddenly, he felt a hit inside his head and fell to the ground. It was as if a massive copper bell was ringing in his mind, making him instantly fall into darkness and chaos. ¡°Oh no, he would usually get sick at midnight, but this time it came earlier.¡± It was not the first time he had ¡°fallen ill.¡± Almost everyone in the market town knew that there was something wrong with his brain and that he would have pain attacks from time to time. However, Haman himself knew that it was not pain but pure chaos. Wait, this time, it was different from the past. The Black Fog in his mind opened, revealing a substantial empty cave. Haman opened his eyes in disbelief and stood up to look at himself. ¡°I woke up so quickly this time?¡± He had wanted to observe the cave, but he knew that he must die if he fell into a coma in this wilderness. He had to get back to the town now before the sun rose to its highest point. Chapter 2 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Due to the hunting and the sudden fall into a coma, Haman returned relatively late. He caught a glimpse of the sky and glanced at the sun. The sun was about to rise to its highest point, and it was hazardous to stay outside at this time. It wasn¡¯t just the sun in the sky that was dangerous, but also those who returned at this time. ¡°Come on. You¡¯ve good harvest today!¡± When Haman carried the parvicursor and ran into the town, someone greeted him. That person¡¯s face was dark, as if he had washed it several months ago. Many people in the town were like this. They did not have the courage and ability to go out to hunt. Usually, to exchange for food, they could only go to the mining area to mine, which was, in fact, the purpose of the town¡¯s existence. They would use the mines they had dug all day to exchange potatoes and sweet potatoes that were just enough to survive. Mining and all kinds of dirty and tiring work that the people in the city did not want to do would be done by the people in the market town. There was only one well in the market town, and there was a fixed quota for the water in the well every day. And no one was allowed to fetch more. There would also be acid rain in the sky, and there was very little clean water nearby. Moreover, all terrifying creatures were waiting for prey nearby that made it too dangerous. That was why the people in the town were dirty, and Haman was no exception. However, he never went to mine since it would cause chronic death. He had his way of survival. At this time, Haman did not respond when he saw people greeting him. He only wanted to return to his kiln pit as soon as possible. Haman, who was initially quite relaxed, became more and more nervous after entering the market town. He even pulled out the bone knife at his waist. Everybody on the street tensed up as if ferocious beasts were hiding on both sides of the road. However, when Haman took out the bone knife from his waist, those people calmed down again. Haman learned that since he could survive in this wilderness for so long, he could not trust anyone except Holly. Some people whispered from the dark cave, ¡°Haman caught another prey.¡± ¡°He¡¯s so lucky. That monster is not easy to kill!¡± ¡°But this prey is massive. We can probably enjoy it for several weeks!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t provoke him!¡± A voice ended the whispering. It seemed that someone knew Haman¡¯s personality. Haman lifted the leather curtain hanging in front of his cave. The coolness inside made him relax. Holly, sitting on the ground doing his homework, looked up and saw Haman coming back. He was pleasantly surprised. ¡°Did you catch a prey?¡± ¡°Why? didn¡¯t you have lunch?¡± Haman asked with a frown. He only glanced at the food in the pot and knew that Holly had only eaten one meal since morning. Holly was not very clever, and he was only like this in front of Haman. And he would not be so tender facing outsiders. ¡°I just want to save some money for my family.¡± ¡°What if you¡¯re starving?¡± Haman put down his prey and took a sip of water. Holly seemed to be inspired. ¡°The priest said that I¡¯ve already got the best food.¡± Haman did not care about this. ¡°I¡¯ve seen the priest. He¡¯s a stupid man. Please don¡¯t listen to him since he can¡¯t even do anything at all. He might not be right.¡± ¡°Oh¡¡± Holly nodded. ¡°Then why did you have to send me to the Church?¡± Haman suddenly could not think of what to say. Then he straightened his neck and said, ¡°Why do you have so many questions?¡± ¡°Then when can I go hunting with you?¡± Holly did not ask further. He only said expectantly. ¡°You don¡¯t need to learn hunting since you¡¯re only fourteen years old. If you go to the church and learn knowledge, you won¡¯t have to go hunting.¡± Haman said, ¡°You can learn how to add up and learn some scientific knowledge. So that you¡¯ll be able to sit in the room and get paid, isn¡¯t it better than hunting?¡± ¡°You¡¯re only 18 years old too!¡± Holly was a little unconvinced. In this era, even the most vicious people knew the importance of knowledge. Each year, they would listen to the radio. They knew that some people in some market town had been admitted to certain schools, and their entire families had moved to the city. It was also the reason why priests could survive in this wilderness. No matter what kind of trouble happened in the town, they were always the safest, and no one would disturb them. However, it would cost much to learn knowledge. Otherwise, Haman would also want to do so. Haman lifted the iron pot and skillfully dissected the prey. ¡°What did the priest teach today? We can only eat the internal organs of this parvicursor. And we¡¯ll sell the rest of the meat in the afternoon.¡± Holly sat at the side and watched Haman boil the internal organs while mending his clothes. It suddenly became quiet in the room. After a while, Haman took out the parvicursor¡¯s internal organs from the pot and handed them to Holly. ¡°Enjoy it.¡± Holly¡¯s eyes suddenly turned red. ¡°No, I won¡¯t. You can take it. You¡¯re the one who needs it the most.¡± ¡°There¡¯s still more!¡± Haman took out a small piece of liver from the pot and held the black bread in his hand. ¡°I still have some bread here.¡± ¡°It¡¯s more useful for you to eat. You might become a mutant,¡± Holly said as he was about to burst into tears. Haman touched his head and smiled. ¡°Remember, nobody will believe in your tears in the world. I think you cry because of me. So, don¡¯t cry while you¡¯re living in this world.¡± Then he continued, ¡°Look at the people around us. What if someone suddenly comes in at night and stabs me to death if you don¡¯t eat?¡± ¡°I told you to go to church to learn knowledge because I didn¡¯t want you to be like me since I only know how to hunt.¡± ¡°You¡¯re brilliant. As long as you study hard, you don¡¯t have to be like me since I need to get up early and go to bed late to make a living in the wilderness. I told you to go to church because I want you to become a city man.¡± Holly took the internal organs from Haman and wolfed them down. In the end, he didn¡¯t cry because he didn¡¯t want to make him sad. ¡°Tell me what happened in the town today and what did the priest teach you?¡± Haman said. ¡°Okay,¡± Holly agreed. ¡°You¡¯re usually so smart outside. But why are you so compliant when you¡¯re at home?¡± Haman sighed. ¡°The priest taught us which plants could be eaten in the wild and which were useful. He also said that they would bring textbooks before the catastrophe the next time when city people came.¡± While sewing his clothes, Holly said, ¡°The aunt next door died. A dinosaur came out of the ground and bit all her family to death. In the end, the guards killed the dinosaur.¡± Speaking of these things, Holly was very calm. He had witnessed life and death many times, so he was numb. ¡°By the way, some city people came today. They said that they were looking for a wilderness guide. They seemed to want to keep a dinosaur as a pet.¡± When Holly saw that Haman was interested in it, he then said in detail, ¡°Then, will they turn to you? Everyone in town knows that you¡¯re the best hunter.¡± ¡°No. How can it be so easy to catch a dinosaur?¡± Haman shook his head. At this moment, Haman didn¡¯t know how to feel about it. ¡°Why do they still want to keep a pet and even think about keeping a dinosaur as a pet? What are those people from the city thinking about?¡± Chapter 3 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Haman had fallen asleep. Every night, after he woke up from his coma, he was not in good spirits. This morning, he had been lying on the grass for so long. He was lying there motionlessly. Those who knew something related knew that it was the most exhausting lying on the ground motionlessly and having to be constantly vigilant. Moreover, he had to stay in the house for hours in the afternoon. The temperature outside could reach up to 60 degrees Celsius even if a piece of meat were ready to eat after only a few minutes when put on the ground. Before Haman fell asleep, he told Holly, ¡°When you see those people, you must stay away from them.. The people in the city might not be aware of the dangers in the wilderness. Still, it would be more dangerous accompanying these young masters out.¡± ¡°Got it.¡± Holly nodded obediently. Haman and Holly were an extraordinary combination. A few years ago, they didn¡¯t know each other. Later, Haman fainted. When he woke up, he saw that Holly was covered in blood as he was protecting him. He then decided to watch the young man. On the one hand, he had been troubled by his illness for a long time, and he needed a night watchman. On the other hand, there were very few people who lived alone in this town. The weaker you were, the more you needed to live in groups. In this lawless land, you could not relax at all times. Otherwise, it was very likely that you would lose your life in your sleep. Haman had seen some people who lived alone. And most of them did not live for more than half a month. He had initially agreed with Holly that they would only use each other. However, it was hard to say whether they liked or used each other after a few years. Today, there was a sudden change when Haman was sick in the wild. Before he went to sleep, he was a little worried that the cave he saw outside would still appear or not. However, just as he fell asleep, the cave appeared. It was as if the cave existed in Haman¡¯s mind, now that the endless chaos had spread out, and it was revealed. Haman wanted to see what was in the cave. Holly glanced at Haman, lying next to him, and quietly picked up the bone knife. When he was sitting at the cave entrance, he saw only a thick leather curtain hanging in the cave. The Sun was shining brightly outside, and it was a little scorching even through the curtain. Old wooden cabinets were hanging on the wall in that vast and empty cave. It was like a vast showroom, but the wooden cabinets in the gallery were all covered by chaos, making it hard to see what was inside. In the middle of the cave, there was only a simple stone table, and there was a strange chessboard on the table, which was like the black and white chessboard that was very popular before the cataclysm. However, there were only ten squares on this strange chessboard. Nine of them were covered by chaos, so it was hard to see what was on them. The only uncovered grid above shows three patterns that are constantly pulsating, each one continually changing. There was a piece of kraft paper next to the chessboard, whose function was written on it. Each grid represented a level. And you could open the next one when you have only completed the task of the previous grid. Haman could not tell whether it was his imagination or because of some other reason. The priest had said that someone could build a memory palace and store his memory according to it. Looking at the big shelves around him, he wondered if those big shelves with strange things could be palaces that he had not built yet? However, Haman felt that this cave should not be a memory palace that he had constructed himself. It was because this was the first time he had seen this, no matter it was in his dreams or reality. Looking at the brown paper on the table, he found the mission of the first grid displayed on it. Mission 1: Defeat D grade land beast and devour it. Mission reward: obtain the ability to transform into a devouring target. Mission 2: Defeat D grade flying beast and devour it. Mission reward: obtain the ability to transform into a devouring target. Mission 3: defeat D grade aquatic beast and devour it. Mission reward: obtain the ability to transform into a devouring target. Final mission reward: obtain the ability to conceal one¡¯s bloodline and initiate a C-grade trial. Must know: all missions must be completed in the cave space. Nothing should be used from the real world. Looking at the brown paper in front of him, Haman was slightly excited but quickly calmed down. It was good to transform into a dinosaur, but it was still challenging to complete this mission. It was impossible to kill a dinosaur in the cave space. The dinosaurs had a red power, and they would get hurt if this red power were broken. Other than dinosaurs, only mutated humans had this red power. And the dragon-slaying spike in Haman¡¯s hand was also made from the power of mutated humans. Without this weapon, it was impossible to kill dinosaurs. Haman put down the brown paper in his hand and stood in the middle of the cave, looking at the display cabinets around him. There seemed to be some floating items behind the display cabinet, but it was blocked by chaos. But the chaotic light made it impossible for him to see what exactly was floating inside. The large display cabinets were connected to the cave¡¯s dome, making it like a vast museum. Haman walked to one of the cabinets, wanting to reach out and touch the things floating inside the chaos. However, no matter how hard he tried, he could not break through the barrier of the chaos since that force resisted him from peeping at the things behind. He could only lie on the surface of the chaos and wanted to look at the things inside. Then he vaguely saw a few items that were similar to books. After trying for a while, he gave up peeping. That was a force that he could not resist at the moment. If he wanted to know what was in the cave, he had to explore in the future. Haman woke up from his sleep and looked at Holly, who was guarding the cave entrance. He smiled and said, ¡°Go and sleep for a while. I¡¯ll take your turn.¡± Both of them needed to keep watch at night. They could not fall asleep at the same time. So it was the same every day. Haman slept for two hours, and then Holly would do the same. They spent more than half of their time sleeping every day. Fortunately, this did not affect them when they were outside because the weather in the wilderness did not allow them to stay for more than half of the time. The wilderness at night was the world of dinosaurs. They had excellent eyesight. Even if it was completely dark, they could easily find the creatures around them. Since the temperature at noon was too terrifyingly high, they could only hide in the cave to avoid being scorched by the Sun. It was a bit torturous in this kind of situation. And they couldn¡¯t sleep easily under such tremendous pressure. However, they had no other choice. When Haman went out in the morning, Holly would also go to church to study and bring everything in the house before the church, including stew pot. When they came back, the cave must have been visited by someone. Chapter 4 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare In the afternoon, after the Sun shifted, Haman led Holly out. Holly was carrying only bedding and a big pot. Haman was carrying a parvicursor whose belly was cut open on his back, as well as the leather curtain hanging at the entrance of the cave. Usually, Holly had to carry all his belongings to school, and most of the students were the same, so everyone was used to it. ¡°I heard that people don¡¯t close their doors at night in the city. No one steals anything,¡± Holly said as he looked up. ¡°Impossible.¡± However, Haman yearned for life in the city. He did not believe that there was any place in the world that people could keep their doors open at night. In that case, they would be moved away with their beddings. ¡°Those people think that everything in the city is good.¡± ¡°But they don¡¯t have to carry everything with them,¡± Holly said. ¡°Come on,¡± Haman touched Holly¡¯s head and said, ¡°I collected these things bit by bit. I picked up a pile of scrap iron and spent two pounds of meat to find a blacksmith to make this pot.¡± The traces of modern civilization only existed in the city, and in this wilderness, even scrap iron was valuable. Haman carried the parvicursor on his shoulder. As he walked on the road, many people looked at him with envy. You had to know that humans were not at the top of the food chain a hundred years ago. People lived a good life before the cataclysm, and they kept cats and walking dogs at home, but what about now? They even had to try their best to survive, not to mention raising dogs and cats, Not everyone could go out hunting, and not everyone had the patience to lie in the wilderness for long. They all had not eaten meat for many years. It would be a lie to say that they did not feel jealous. Haman brought Holly to the center of the town. The houses here were different from the ones outside. There were all caves outside the town. What was even more miserable was that they had built a shed with dried grass to manage. And they were all brick houses here. The closer they were to the center of the town, the cleaner, tidier, and more prosperous they looked. The people who could live here were all related to the city. Either they were good at flattery, or they could arrange the dirty and tiring work for the people in the city. But no matter what, the people in the town were all known as ¡°Fateless people¡± and could not enter the city. There were only two ways to enter the city. One was to become a human, and the other was to study hard. Haman walked into a brick house. There was a yellow cloth hanging in front of the door, and the words ¡°Grocery Store¡± were written on it. And there were matches, cigarettes, iron tools, food, and clothes inside, but they were all costly. The older man standing behind the counter saw Haman and immediately came out from behind the counter. He was pleased. ¡°This parvicursor looks big.¡± Haman threw the prey on the iron counter and asked, ¡°How much is it?¡± ¡°Oh, be gentle. This iron is not thick, but it¡¯s costly,¡± Chuck said with a heartache. Then he threw the prey on the iron scale beside him and said, ¡°14.5 kilograms. Not bad, Haman.¡± At this time, Chuck rolled his eyes. Then he calculated with his shriveled hands in his palm and said, ¡°It is 120 kilograms according to today¡¯s market price. The total price is 1700 dollars!¡± ¡°2000,¡± Haman said firmly. ¡°Recently, I have to pay tuition fees again for Holly. It¡¯s not easy to catch a parvicursor. 2000 is the lowest price.¡± But Chuck was unhappy. He pushed the account book in his hand in front of Haman. ¡°These are for the nobles in the city only. Although they lack meat, we still have to follow the rules.¡± Before he finished his words, he saw Haman turn around to leave with his prey. He quickly pulled on the sleeve of his torn jacket. ¡°Where are you going?¡± ¡°I¡¯m going next door to ask Duke about the price of the grocery store,¡± Haman said. Chuck tightened his hands. Recently, there was someone in charge in the city who specifically told him to collect dinosaur meat. Chuck was not the only one who knew about this. He wanted to stop the original plan. Then he giggled. ¡°How much do you want to sell it for?¡± Haman still wanted to leave. ¡°Let me ask the price first.¡± Chuck smiled even more amiably. ¡°Won¡¯t it delay Holly¡¯s school time? Two thousand then!¡± ¡°What did you say before this sentence?¡± Haman said calmly. ¡°Not delay, Holly¡¡± ¡°Before this one.¡± ¡°How much do you want to sell it for?¡± Chuck said with some doubt. ¡°Two thousand four hundred.¡± Chuck:¡±???¡± After discussing for a long time, they finally reached a price. The shopkeeper counted the money with his heart aching. He estimated it repeatedly with saliva on his face, afraid that he had measured it wrong. In the end, Haman made his concession. The price was 2,395. A dinosaur could be sold out at more than 2,000 dollars, and it was not only because it was big, nor that the price was too low. The main reason was that the dinosaur meat was helpful for ordinary people to become mutants. According to the manager from the city, those who ate dinosaur meat often had twice the chance of becoming mutants than ordinary people. It was the reason why the price of dinosaur meat was high. The rarer the food, the more expensive it was. Since everyone needed it, it was natural that there would be less of it. Therefore, the price was naturally high. Every time Haman caught a prey, he would leave some for the two of them to share. However, he did not leave too much because those very knowledgeable ¡°Doctors¡± had said it before. It was just enough, about 100 grams per day for one person, and that would be a waste no matter how much food they had. When Chuck finally gave the money to Haman, he looked so heartbroken. At this time, he seemed to have suddenly remembered something. He lowered his voice and said, ¡°If you can catch such a beautiful little dinosaur in the future, don¡¯t kill it directly. Bring it to me, and I¡¯ll pay double the price.¡± ¡°Alive? Why do you want it alive? You want to kill it by yourself and eat it fresh?¡± Haman was stunned for a moment. ¡°No, have you heard of a noble who came here today wanting to capture a living one in the wilderness for fun?¡± Chuck shook his head. ¡°I think there must be more than one who wants to keep it for fun. There must be some profit in it.¡± ¡°Keep it for fun? Not for food?¡± Haman was a little puzzled. ¡°That would be a waste.¡± Chuck waved his hand and said with a smile, ¡°Do you think the people in the city areas poor as us? You don¡¯t understand how the rich are thinking about!¡± ¡°Before the cataclysm, there were still people who kept lions and tigers for pets! Now there are no such things, but the dinosaurs are even more ferocious, and the rich people like this,¡± Chuck said with a smile as he took a sip of water. Haman did not expect that so many people in this era would starve to death at any time. Still, these people in the city no longer wanted to eat meat and only wanted to keep them for fun. Chapter 5 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare ¡°How about it? If you catch one alive, I¡¯ll give you double the price.¡± Chuck stroked his beard and said with a smile. Haman thought carefully, shook his head and said, ¡°That¡¯s a dinosaur. It can bite us to death at any time. Today, the whole family of my neighboring aunt all died.¡± Chuck was a little anxious and quickly held Haman¡¯s hand. ¡°Come on, since you can kill it, it¡¯s not that difficult to capture it alive.¡± ¡°I¡¯m not refusing,¡± Haman said calmly.. ¡°Then why?¡± Haman looked at Chuck and grinned. ¡°It¡¯s so dangerous, and you have to pay me more!¡± ¡ After they reached an agreement on price, Haman brought Holly to the church of the Dragon God in the market town. This church was the cleanest and neatest place in the market town, and it was also the only place with a yard. It was located in the center of the market town. The entire market town was built around the church. Walking towards the church, you could see potatoes, soybeans and corn planted in the yard. Initially, Haman thought that a place like the church should be planted with flowers and other plants. But after all, there was not enough food in this era, so it was fortunate to have a place to grow some vegetables. In addition, this priest was kind-hearted, and he would give some food to those who could not afford to eat from time to time. The amount of relief money was given by the church was not enough. So, Haman had a simple wish, and he wanted to let Holly become a priest when he grew up. It was not that Haman respected the priest, but that it was safe and he could grow vegetables for himself after becoming a priest. Moreover, no one would steal anything, so it was pretty comfortable. Generally speaking, Haman¡¯s wish was straightforward. However, it was not easy to join the church of the Dragon God, and you could not enter without too much knowledge. Moreover, when he scrounged the priest¡¯s class, he also heard the priest say that the teachings of the Church of the Dragon God were to kill all the dinosaurs. ¡°Is this a joke?¡± Haman had lived in the wilderness for so many years and knew how many dinosaurs there were in nature. The number of dinosaurs killed by humans was far less than the number of dinosaurs killing each other. Holly took the tuition fees to the school. Haman could only squat on the wall. If he could not pay the tuition fees, he could not go to class, which was the rule. It was even a privilege to attend the class on the wall to the priest. The priest would sometimes tell the students how glorious the human civilization used to be. To be honest, Mr. Haman had never seen that era. What he knew now was only some stories passed down by word of mouth. These stories were likely to be wrong as they passed down. Although they might not be reliable, Haman was still fascinated by them. And although he didn¡¯t know what the use of talking about the human past was. There was still envy and some pride in his heart as he was listening to that glorious past. Every day Haman would go hunting in the early morning till noon. In the afternoon, when Holly had classes, he would squat down and also attend. Sometimes he would take the knowledge that he didn¡¯t understand and didn¡¯t hear clearly to ask Holly. It annoyed Holly because if he couldn¡¯t answer it, it meant he wasn¡¯t learning well. But Holly liked the feeling of learning together, so he was particularly attentive in every class. In the classroom, the priest held a copy of ¡°The Basics of Physics,¡± based on a collection of pre-cataclysm knowledge. He held the book and looked down at the sleeping children, then at Haman, who was on the wall outside the window. Then, he turned to Holly, who was the most eager to learn, and said, ¡°Tell your brother to stand outside the classroom and study.¡± ¡°Thank you, Father!¡± Holly beamed. ¡ There was only one priest in the church and no one else. No one knew the name of the priest. Ever since they came to this town thirty years ago, everyone only called him a priest. When someone asked his name, the priest only said, ¡°I have devoted my life to the cause of The Church of the Dragon God. You don¡¯t need to know my name.¡± Sometimes Haman felt that what the priest said was different from what he had experienced in the wilderness, so that he would argue with Holly. At first, Holly was always like everyone else, thinking that the priest knew everything. But after Haman personally caught a wild beast in the wilderness that the priest said didn¡¯t exist. The Church of the Dragon God opened a church in the market town to train more talents. The Church of the Dragon God would arrange for anyone good at Reading to go to the city. But the people in the market town didn¡¯t all think that way. Most of them just wanted to let their children learn, hoping to take over their small shop in the future. After all, people were very realistic, and the cost of learning was very high. Moreover, there were over a hundred market towns in Azure Dragon City. Still, only a few people could join the Church of the Dragon God every year. Therefore, most people only sent their children here for a year to learn some accounting skills. ¡ On the way home, Haman and Holly suddenly saw those people from the city. There were about thirteen or fourteen of them. Half of them were wearing colourful and strange clothes, and the other half were wearing uniform clothes. It seemed that they were mercenaries or soldiers from the city. No wonder they dared to come to the wilderness to catch living animals. However, Haman didn¡¯t think that these mercenaries from the city must be very powerful. He had been in the wilderness for so long, but he hadn¡¯t seen any mercenaries. These people probably hadn¡¯t even experienced actual combat. Actually, from Haman¡¯s perspective, the strongest among these people should be the little guy sitting in the car. Shaking his head, he was about to leave when he heard Chuck¡¯s loud voice. ¡°If you want to go to the wilderness, you have to turn to Haman. And it will be difficult for you to find what you want without him. There is a herd of beasts in the wilderness outside.¡± One of the mercenaries sneered and said, ¡°A herd of beasts is nothing. We have guns in our hands, and they are mighty.¡± Haman was stunned for a moment. ¡°Would the herds of beasts be afraid of guns? Could it be the same gun as the dragon-slaying spike?¡± He had never seen such a weapon before, so he did not know if what they said was correct or not. Then another mercenary asked, ¡°Where is Haman? We don¡¯t need him to have any good skills. We just need him to be able to find the prey.¡± ¡°Well, Haman is a good hunter in our town. There are no roads in the wilderness that he doesn¡¯t know. It¡¯s right for you to turn to him.¡± Chuck smiled and said, ¡°He¡¯s the most capable person though he was mentally ill.¡± Hearing this, Haman turned around and left. ¡°Is Chuck also attending your class¡¡± Holly quickly said, ¡°Brother, Chuck is not wrong.¡± Haman frowned. He didn¡¯t want to pay attention to this matter in the first place. But he didn¡¯t expect Chuck to recommend him to this inexplicable capture team. Chapter 6 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare As night fell, the scorching temperature of 60 degrees at noon would drop to around zero in just two hours. The people in the market town all returned to their residences. Those who had doors would close them tightly, while those who lived in caves would use curtains to cover the caves¡¯ entrance. When Haman came back in the evening, he also heard that a man who had left work at the shoe factory had been stabbed to death. Someone said that because someone knew that this man had a habit of saving money, he had five hundred dollars hidden in his house, so he went to the man¡¯s house to rummage through his things while at work. In the end, when it was time to get off work, he didn¡¯t find the man, but when the man came home, he stabbed the man to death during the fight. People in the market town liked to live together. Their friends, brothers, and couples lived together and took turns to keep watch at night. It was a little safer, and Haman and Holly did the same from the start. But others had been harmed by the people they had partnered with. These perpetrators were very short-sighted, and what they didn¡¯t know was that. When they had harmed their companions, no one would believe them anymore. They wouldn¡¯t trust a person who could be charged by someone they had spent every day with as they harmed. Therefore, they could only become the lonely people Haman had met before. These people usually did not have a good ending. ¡°Brother, why don¡¯t you want to go to the wilderness with the city people?¡± Holly asked. ¡°It¡¯s nothing.¡± Haman hung the curtain behind him. ¡°Those people don¡¯t know what the wilderness is like, and I suspect that they¡¯re not only trying to catch living creatures.¡± ¡°I think so too.¡± Holly sat on the bedding and continued to sew. Without raising his head, he said, ¡°When I was at the church this morning, I heard that they were looking for something extraordinary, but it wasn¡¯t a dinosaur at all. It wasn¡¯t in the illustrated book.¡± Haman fell into deep thought. Suddenly, he heard the sound of dense footsteps outside. There were many people. It was rare to see people walking around on the streets of the market town at night. The temperature outside was a little low now. There weren¡¯t many people having cotton-padded clothes in the entire market town. Haman quickly guessed who the person was and thought his purpose. ¡ The capture team had to catch that animal this time. That animal was indeed not a dinosaur, but because it had a great background. The ruler of Azure Dragon City had obtained some information that proved that the beast did not appear naturally. It was a hybrid of a dinosaur and a hyena. They got the news about Haman from Chuck. Although they had doubts about ¡°Mental illness,¡± they still asked some other people. It seemed that everyone thought that Haman was the best choice for them to choose as a guide. Some people even wondered what was so special about this young man since everyone in the town approved of him. Then they asked for more information about him and finally got some answers out of curiosity. This boy was well-known at the age of 13. Because this boy came back from the wilderness alone with a dinosaur leg in his hand and a little kid younger than him behind. From then on, the two children relied on each other. Haman was responsible for hunting to make money and providing for Holly¡¯s education fee. Haman would come back with his prey every few days. Sometimes there were some ordinary beasts, but gradually, he came back with the corpses of dinosaurs. Moreover, Haman was also the only person who had seen the city. There was a barren mountain on the east side of the town. As long as you stood on the top of the bare mountain, you could see the city from afar. And it was also the direction where the capture team came. The Barren Mountain was 60 kilometres away from the town. And Haman was the only person who could reach there and come back. ¡°By the way, Chuck.¡± One of the team leaders accompanying them said to him, ¡°What do you mean when you said he had a mental illness?¡± ¡°It¡¯s nothing. I¡¯m just saying.¡± Chuck said with a smile as the wrinkles on his face were squeezed together. ¡°It¡¯s not a big deal. It is not serious. Look, we¡¯ll arrive in front.¡± Chuck only dared to come out at night with these nobles from the city. At this time, he deliberately raised his voice as if he wanted to let everyone in the town know that he, Chuck, had a good relationship with these people from the city. ¡°Haman, come out quickly. We have an important guest,¡± Chuck shouted with a smile. Suddenly, the curtain of the cave was lifted. ¡°Haman, the important guests want to go to Mount Roman. They need a guide. Do you know how to get there?¡± Chuck grabbed Haman¡¯s hand and asked with a smile. Haman pondered for a while and said, ¡°I can only say that we will never reach there before we reach Mount Roman.¡± Chuck:¡±???¡± The arresting team:¡±???¡± The arresting team pointed at Haman and looked at Chuck. ¡°Did this sick person say that?¡± Chuck was also a little flustered. ¡°He was still fine when they were discussing business earlier in the day. Why is her like this now?¡± ¡°Haman, don¡¯t be anxious.¡± Chuck quickly gave Haman a look. Then, he said, ¡°We didn¡¯t understand what you said just now. Why don¡¯t you tell us more about it? If you bring the guests to Mount Roman, we¡¯ll pay you for sure.¡± Then Haman pulled his hand out of Chuck¡¯s hand and said calmly, ¡°I can only say that if you understand, you¡¯ll understand. If you don¡¯t understand, you¡¯ll never understand. Those who can understand can only understand themselves. You still don¡¯t know who can understand, so everyone thinks that he can understand. They just think others don¡¯t understand. You¡¯re the only one who doesn¡¯t understand. So, it¡¯s not good to know too much. Do you understand?¡± The capture team leader quickly pulled Chuck aside and said snappily, ¡°Is he still fine since he talked like this now?¡± ¡°Chuck, do you know the consequences of lying to us? Is this what you meant by ¡®it¡¯s not a big deal?¡± As soon as he finished speaking, the capture team turned around and left. They had a great expectation of the legendary Haman, but now it turned out to be a mental patient. No wonder the people in market town said that this kid was mentally ill. ¡°Isn¡¯t he mentally ill? Haman stood at the entrance of the cave and watched the capture team slowly leave. Chuck was still apologizing to him. ¡°Although Haman was mentally ill, it was not that kind of illness. Let me explain¡¡± The capture team did not want to listen to his explanation. ¡°Chuck, I¡¯ll give you one last day to find a suitable candidate for us. We cannot use this guy even if he is not sick. We have to set off tomorrow. Don¡¯t cause trouble for us!¡± Haman stood at the entrance of the cave, gloating as if nothing had happened. However, at this moment, the little man sitting in the car earlier turned around and glanced at Haman. It made Haman feel as if he had been seen through. He couldn¡¯t even see the expression under his beret, but now he felt a little nervous. Chapter 7 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare ¡°Brother, why did Chuck recommend you to those people from the city?¡± Holly opened the curtain and walked out. ¡°I don¡¯t know either.¡± Haman shook his head and looked at the back of the group of people. ¡°Maybe he wants to build a relationship with the people from the city.¡± Haman was indeed the hunter who hunted the most in the town. But he was not the best because he got these prey on his fearless spirit. Maybe Chuck had some ulterior motives since he had recommended Haman to the city people. Maybe he just wanted to build a good relationship with the city people, or perhaps he wanted Haman to get in touch with them, which was still uncertain. ¡°So Chuck has bad intentions?¡± Holly asked in confusion. ¡°It¡¯s hard to say.¡± Haman touched Holly¡¯s head and said, ¡°You have to remember that you shouldn¡¯t listen to what others say in this wilderness. You have to see what they do!¡± They walked into the cave, and Holly lay on the only bedding. Haman was on watch in the first half of the night, and it was Holly¡¯s turn in the second half. ¡°Brother.¡± Holly lay on the bedding and raised his head. ¡°Chuck may not be trying to harm you, right?¡± Haman glared at him. ¡°Of course, I know him so well since we have been together for so many years.¡±. Since Chuck had done such a thing today, Haman would go looking for trouble. Haman pondered for a while. ¡°Holly, the most important thing for people to live in the world is to have a clear conscience. If you feel guilty, then tell yourself to remove it.¡± Holly:¡±???¡± When he heard the first half of the sentence, Holly still looked like he was listening to his edification respectfully. Still, his second half of the sentence stunned him. Perhaps this was Haman. In this era of cannibalism, perhaps you could only live a better life like this. Every thorn on Haman¡¯s body was an injury that he had once suffered. It was the growth and experience that each lesson had left for him. ¡ It was late at night. Haman and Holly changed shifts. And it was the only time Haman had slept normally in all these years. In the past, he would pass out directly. Not only that, but he also had a dream. In the plan, he was with Holly. There was a vegetable field that belonged to them in a valley. They also kept a few chickens of standard size before the cataclysm. Holly held a fat cat in his arms. Then they squatted at the door of the thatched cottage and watched the little yellow dog catching a butterfly in the yard. ¡ ¡°Don¡¯t forget your lunch.¡± Haman put the black pot on Holly¡¯s back and smoothed his hair. ¡°Okay.¡± Holly took out the roasted potatoes and put them in Haman¡¯s arms. ¡°You have to be careful too. Don¡¯t get hurt.¡± After saying goodbye to Holly, Haman walked out of the town. The cave they lived in was actually in the second circle of the town. And those who lived in the brick houses in the innermost circle were, of course, the rich. The cave houses in the second circle were where Haman and the others lived. Those who could live here were people who didn¡¯t go mining. Because these cave houses needed to be dug out by themselves, so no one would help them without money. And those who went mining wouldn¡¯t have the strength to dig a cave. The third circle referred to the outermost one. It was the most chaotic place. The miners were lazy people who wanted nothing more than to get something for nothing, they were thieves, bandits, and so on, and they all lived in this circle. And this was a lawless place, no matter it was day or night. Even the guards of the market town never came here to patrol because it was unnecessary. The area of this circle was more significant than the two circles inside combined. This area was with strange-shaped sheds, and many of them were even haystacks. You didn¡¯t need someone on watch when you slept here since it was useless. On the contrary, if someone were on watch, others would suspect that you had hidden treasures, and in the end, a group of thieves and robbers. When you stepped out of a circle of fences made of bones, there was a wilderness outside. As long as you stepped out of this fence, you would find that dinosaurs would rule the world outside, and there would be no place for humans. After stepping out of the fence, Haman felt as if he had returned home. He was more familiar with the wilderness than the market town. He raised his head and glanced at the Sun. It was still at the peak of the Eastern Mountain. It should be six o¡¯clock in the morning. The yellow clothes on Haman¡¯ quickly blended into the withered grass in the wilderness. He crushed a withered grass and threw it into the air. And it fluttered in the breeze to the east. He then hid in the west of a big rock to prevent himself from discovering other dinosaurs. Humans in the wilderness were not at the top of the food chain. Only the dinosaurs were the true hunters. If Haman could not hide his tracks, he would become someone else¡¯s prey in the blink of an eye. Nestling in the depression of the big rock, Haman slowed his breathing and waited quietly for his prey. Suddenly, he heard a faint sound of footsteps. According to Haman¡¯s experience, the owner of such footsteps would not be too big. Only creatures weighing less than 10 kilograms could make such a sound. If it were a dinosaur, only young dinosaurs would make such a sound. Finally, today¡¯s prey had arrived. It was already his third trap today. Because the first two preys were too big, he had to give up. A young Velociraptor that was only 70 centimetres long appeared in front of him. It was staring at the meat in the trap. It was a part of the parvicursor that had been left behind yesterday. The Young Velociraptor looked at the piece of meat that was no longer fresh, and there was some desire in its eyes. It was difficult for it to get enough food in the group at this age. Only when all the dinosaurs that were bigger were complete would it be its turn to eat. Finally, it didn¡¯t feel so terrified as it found the food in front. It moved with its soft claws, used its sparse and short teeth to tear at the flesh before its eyes. However, it did not realize that one of its legs had already fallen into the trap. Just as it was struggling to eat the flesh, Haman pulled the rope at his hand with great force. A leather noose suddenly contracted and wrapped around the velociraptor¡¯s ankle. The velociraptor felt dizzy and was still biting on the flesh, but it was already hanging upside down from a tree. The moment Haman pulled on the rope, he rushed out of his hiding place like a cheetah. Then he pounced in front of the velociraptor and clamped his slender neck under his armpit. He used a lasso to tie its big mouth tightly and then a leather bag to cover the head. Then he used a rope to tie the bag tightly around the neck. After all, dinosaurs could not suffocate. In just a minute, Haman had pierced the ten-kilogram velociraptor into a lump of meat. And he ensured that the velociraptor could not move except for its eyes. Then he bent himself as he held the meatball in his arms, trying his best to calm his chaotic breath due to the intense movement just now. At the same time, he took out a pack of green ointment and applied it to his body and the meatball. It was Holly¡¯s green ointment, which was used to cover the smell with the smell of rotten grass. No animal in the wilderness would like this smell, of course, including Haman. Chapter 8 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare However, the effect of this grass herb was common good. And Haman had relied on this to escape death many times. And it had even once helped him escape from a group of the triceratops. They were indeed a group of giants. Each triceratops was nearly a hundred meters long. Every time they stepped down, Haman felt as if the ground had turned into a trampoline. Most importantly, they were not as clumsy as they looked. Instead, they were extremely agile. Haman saw that the two male triceratopses were fighting for the position of leader. They had crossed thousands of meters of distance in an instant, and the two unimaginably heavy beasts crashed into each other. The resulting shockwave sent Haman flying into the air like a fallen leaf. It was precisely because of this that the group of triceratopses discovered Haman since they were too large. They did not notice the ant-like creature of Haman. Fortunately, Haman used the grass herb to cover his smell, which allowed him to escape. ¡ Since Haman knew that there would be adult velociraptors near the baby velociraptors, he lowered himself under cover of the grass and ran wildly towards the market town. Adult Velociraptors were nearly three meters long, and the scales on their bodies were almost ten centimetres thick. With Haman¡¯s strength, it was impossible to kill an adult velociraptor. He had bought the dragon-slaying spike from Chuck at six thousand dollars. But the adequate killing size of this dragon-slaying spike was only ten centimetres. In other words, even if an adult velociraptor lay on the ground and let Haman kill it. It would still take him at least half an hour to completely kill it. Undercover of the grass cream, Haman only took fifteen minutes to approach the market town. Lying in the grass outside the market town, Haman panted heavily. Raising his head and glancing at the sun, Haman estimated that he had returned earlier today than yesterday. It should be just eleven o¡¯clock. Within twenty minutes, he had to recover his strength and then enter the town to hide from the sun. If he brought back his prey today, it meant that he had already brought back the target for two days in a row. Some people might not resist the greed in their hearts and come looking for trouble with Haman. Therefore, before entering the town, he had to ensure that he had sufficient strength. There were often robbers in the outermost area of the town. Some of them wanted to rob. However, some people did not dare to commit suicide because they could not live on, so they indulged themselves and took the initiative to seek death. Both of these two kinds of people were very troublesome. After lying in the grass for twenty minutes, Haman slowly stood up. He walked into the market town as usual, but it was different from before. This time, the thing in Haman¡¯s arms was always squirming. As soon as he walked into the fence, someone was staring at him as if they wanted to know what he wanted to do. Haman knew him. He was the one-eyed Wolf¡¯s subordinate who specialized in finding big profit. Haman had got on with him many times. As he walked on the shabby streets of the town, Haman could feel more and more people staring at him. ¡°This time, I¡¯m afraid I won¡¯t be kind,¡± Haman thought. Then he walked faster and faster and wanted to enter the cave area. It was not within the one-eyed Wolf¡¯s sphere of influence. At the same time, he was forcing the one-eyed Wolf to make a decision as soon as possible. The faster he acted, the fewer people of the one-eyed Wolf would gather, making Haman more confident. There was still a hundred meters away from the cave area. And Haman could already see it. Outside the cave area, two stronger people were blocking the middle of the road. The one-eyed Wolf finally acted. At this moment, the crowd behind Haman suddenly burst into whispers. Haman turned around and faced the crowd behind him. There were about twenty people. A few of them were the one-eyed Wolf¡¯s subordinates. The rest were just some ordinary greedy people. ¡°Look, what¡¯s in his arms?¡± ¡°That¡¯s the beast that the guests want! Haman captured it alive.¡± ¡°As long as we hand that beast over to the nobles, we can go live in the brick house!¡± There were more and more greedy words as they spoke, which instantly made everyone excited. Haman could see that these words were said by the subordinates of the one-eyed Wolf mixed in with the crowd. To ordinary people, it didn¡¯t matter if these words were actual or not because they didn¡¯t want to live anymore. If it were true, then it would be great so that they would have a chance to enter the brick district and have a good life. And it didn¡¯t matter if it was fake. Anyway, they didn¡¯t want to live anymore. Looking at the crowd charging at him, Haman pulled out the dragon-slaying spike. Although he was much stronger than the ordinary people, it was still difficult for him to remain uninjured when facing more than twenty people. Once he was injured, he would most likely be infected on his wound. That would be truly fatal. Facing the crowd rushing towards him, Haman only put down the meatball in his arms and cut open the layers of overlapping ropes. Then he used the dragon-slaying spike to slash a long wound on the back of the Velociraptor Cub. The Velociraptor Cub, which was already very upset, became even angrier. Haman had already charged towards the crowd. Only one person in the shack area could afford a dragon-slaying spike that cost six thousand dollars, and that was the one-eyed Wolf. In other words, before the one-eyed Wolf arrived, this velociraptor cub was invincible. Haman cut it on its back to make it angry and use its prey to deal with the enemy. At the same time, the wound on its back would continuously make it lose blood, which would make it exhausted. After charging into the crowd, Haman disappeared like a fish in the blink of an eye. Squatting on the tree, Haman remained calm as he watched the massacre below. He had been used to this scene for years. When the homeless people faced the dinosaurs, they all looked so angry. They knew that it was the dinosaurs that made them hide in the market town and accept exploitation. At this moment, the homeless people and the dinosaurs were surprisingly similar. Since they only knew how to attack and didn¡¯t know what pain was. The dinosaurs would never get hurt, while the Wanderers didn¡¯t care about death at all. ¡°So, once humans are pushed to their limits, they become wild beasts?¡± Haman muttered to himself. Perhaps a few years ago, he was just like these wanderers, who were utterly unconcerned about death, just like wild beasts. The massacre below ended very quickly because neither of them escaped from the battle. Only a few one-eyed Wolves¡¯ subordinates immediately ran away when they saw the velociraptor cub. ¡°Da.¡± Haman jumped down from the tree. ¡°Enjoy your sleep. That¡¯ll be enough.¡± Haman looked at the Velociraptor Cub in front of him, covered with whole blood, which belonged to itself and others. As the Velociraptor heard the roaring sound, it turned its head to look at Haman. It recognized that this was the person who had captured it. Then it used all of its strength to let out a final roar. Then, it weakly fell to the ground. It had lost too much blood, causing the beast to fall into a coma initially at the top of the food chain. Chapter 9 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare He lifted the curtain of the cave. Holly had brought this thing in the morning because it was safer there. Haman brought the Velociraptor cup, which had been tied up again, into the cave. ¡°Brother, you caught one alive.¡± Holly climbed up from the bedding. ¡°Yeah.¡± Haman nodded. ¡°But it¡¯s about to die.¡± Then he sat on the ground and pulled the rope, exposing the back of the Velociraptor Cup. He took out the dragon-slaying spike and pierced a small hole around the wound. Then, he used the bone needle to pierce the hemp rope into the small hole. The unconscious Velociraptor Cup twitched in pain by such a brutal and straightforward operation. Smelling the bloody smell in the air, Haman seemed to have returned to the miserable days of the past few years. In the past few years, when he had come back from hunting, everyone only remembered his preys. It was all because he had attracted a herd of beasts, then cooked all of them. That was how he was able to live a peaceful life now. A fist was power, which was a principle that had never changed since ancient times. Haman sneered. ¡°As long as you can kill me, there won¡¯t be any consequences.¡± ¡°I was wrong. I thought that as long as I lived quietly and didn¡¯t stir up trouble, there wouldn¡¯t be any problems.¡± ¡°But as long as there are benefits, there will be people who will be tempted.¡± ¡°I want to live a better life, and I want to become stronger.¡± ¡ ¡°Dong.¡± Haman threw the unconscious Velociraptor on Chuck¡¯s counter. ¡°Come on, don¡¯t do this!¡± When Chuck saw that the Velociraptor wasn¡¯t restrained at all, he cried out in alarm. He then quickly took out a rope from under the counter and tied the velociraptor cub firmly. He was so skilful that he was like a senior hunter who had lived in the wilderness for decades. He did not look like a skinny older man at all. ¡°Haman.¡± After Chuck tied up the Velociraptor, he wiped the sweat that did not exist on his face. ¡°This Velociraptor Cub is injured so that it won sell well.¡± If it were under normal circumstances, Haman would still be in the mood to bargain with Chuck. But now. Haman took out the dragon-slaying spike from his chest pocket. Then he plunged it towards the top of the Velociraptor¡¯s head without hesitation. ¡°No.¡± Chuck hurriedly pounced over and grabbed his hands with both hands. ¡°Just follow our agreement, okay?¡± Haman withdrew the dragon-slaying spike and said slowly. ¡°Then how about the capture team issue?¡± ¡°Hiss!¡± Chuck stared at Haman and took a deep breath. ¡°Isn¡¯t that a good thing?¡± Haman didn¡¯t say anything. He just took out the dragon-slaying spike from his chest pocket. This time, Chuck didn¡¯t stop him. He stroked his goatee and thought carefully. ¡°It seems that I¡¯m not on the right track.¡± Chuck thought for a long time and said slowly. ¡°I¡¯ll compensate you with another five hundred dollars.¡± Hearing this, Haman smiled with satisfaction. If he were a fool, he would have been bullied by others in the wilderness. In this town, there was no one older than Chuck besides the priests in the church. Older adults were wise, and this was referring to Chuck. This time, it was just because Chuck wanted to make friends with the rich people in the city that he was deprived of. After calculating the price, Chuck handed three thousand dollars to Haman. And he didn¡¯t feel pity at all. Haman walked to the street. When he looked back, Chuck¡¯s grocery store was already closed. It was rare today since Haman did not listen to the priest carefully. He did not react until Hawley had finished his lecture and walked in front of him. ¡°Haman, let¡¯s go back.¡± Hawley tugged at the corner of Haman¡¯s shirt. ¡°Okay, let¡¯s go.¡± Haman brought Hawley. He also bought two large potatoes on the street and wanted to cook them for dinner with Hawley. ¡ It was late at night, and Haman had been on watch for the first half of the night. ¡°Hawley, you have to remember that no matter what, I will be by your side¡¡± ¡°If there¡¯s anything, go find the priest. You¡¯re so smart, and the priest likes you very much¡¡± When they took the shift, Haman talked a lot. He wanted to enter the cave and complete the first mission, but that mission was not easy. It could be said to be a narrow escape. Holly¡¯s eyes were a bit red. He held back the trembling voice and said, ¡°Yes, I will remember it.¡± Holly had felt that something was wrong since Haman came back this afternoon, but he did not want to affect Haman. He just felt that he was useless and could not help much. In that case, at least he could not affect Haman because of him. Holly held a bone knife and sat at the entrance of the cave with red eyes. Tears on his face fell silently. However, he just turned his back to the cave as tears rolled down from his eyes without a trace of trembling. Haman lay on the bedding and watched Holly, sitting at the cave entrance, fall asleep. ¡ The cave was still empty, although there were still bookshelves. But most of the area was still empty. Haman walked to the stone table in the middle of the cave and looked at the strange chessboard. The letter D was written on it, with three constantly changing patterns. Haman took a deep breath and pressed the button. Suddenly, a white light flashed in front of his eyes. When he opened his eyes, he found that he was still in the cave. The stone table in the middle of the cave disappeared, and the display cabinets around the cave had also gone. There was only the bronze door at the end of the cave. At this moment, a creaking sound began to echo in the cave. The door that was once still beginning to open. With a creaking sound, the copper rust on the bronze door began to fall off gradually. And a blinding light shone in from the outside. Finally, the bronze door was open. Haman had never seen it before as he looked outside. It was a green grassland. Endless weeds rolled up and down on the grassland with the breeze. The weeds in the wilderness had always been withered yellow and would crumble with a twist. But the weeds in front of him were green and delicate. Haman grabbed a handful of wild grass and stuffed it into his mouth. It was bitter, astringent and sour. The taste was terrible, but this was a scene full of vitality. A piece of parchment floated down in front of him, and Haman reached out to catch it. There were some words on it. ¡°Mission description: countless grade-D dinosaurs are living on the grassland. Kill one of them and devour it.¡± ¡°Mission reward: obtain the ability to transform into a graded dinosaur.¡± When Haman first saw the parchment, he realized it. The priest had said that if one person could transform into a dinosaur, he would become a mutant. In other words, as long as Haman completed the mission, he could become a mutant immediately. He had the right to enter the city. But there was only one problem for him, and that was how to kill a dinosaur with his bare hands. Chapter 10 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Dinosaurs had appeared on earth twice. The first time was billions of years ago before humans appeared. At that time, dinosaurs ruled the earth. With their massive size and strong survival abilities, dinosaurs ruled the earth for billions of years. Then, a giant meteorite hit the ground and caused a worldwide extinction. They were once mighty. But the vast bodies they once relied on became the cause of their extinction. In the end, the species that survived were small and could stay with little resources. The second time it appeared was one hundred years ago. It was a typical day. People were having dinner, couples argued as usual, and the old yellow dog was still basking in the sun. Everything was normal. If it weren¡¯t for the appearance of the spatial rift, no one would remember that there was such a day in human history after hundreds of years. But the spatial rift appeared just like that without any reason. Countless dinosaurs emerged from the rift and spread out in all directions like a tide. At first, humans didn¡¯t think that it was a big problem. ¡°Aren¡¯t they just a group of dinosaurs? Aren¡¯t they just the species that went extinct billions of years ago? ¡°What could be scary about?¡± At that time, humans had weapons that could destroy the earth¡¯s ecology, and they could start the sixth mass extinction at any time. They would bury all the creatures on earth with them. At that time, as the overlord of the earth, humans surpassed any species that once ruled the world. They just thought naively that only humans were their only opponents. However, the appearance of the dinosaurs ruthlessly made it impossible. When humans used hot weapons to dominate the world, they aimed at the dinosaurs. Terror came. A layer of red light appeared on the surface of them. And nothing could break through that thin layer of red light and harm the dinosaurs themselves. Thus, humans lived under the threat of dinosaurs. And it was a long time. Mutated humans appeared among humans. They could become dinosaurs. They also had a red light on them, and they were also invulnerable. And only the same red light could defeat the red light. Only then did humans have a chance to relieve. Of course, all of this was also learned by Haman, who attended the priest¡¯s classes. But the problem now was right in front of him. They could only hurt the dinosaurs after becoming mutant humans. But they could only become mutant people by killing dinosaurs. In any case, Haman decided to check the situation first. Everything would turn out alright in the end. He threw the grass leaves in his hands into the air and watched them flutter in the wind. Then he walked in the opposite direction. It was the instinct of a senior hunter to find the prey before the prey found himself at any time. According to the description of the mission, there should only be D-class dinosaurs on this grassland. The so-called D-class dinosaurs were classified according to the data of the current federation. They referred to dinosaurs that were less than two meters long and weighed less than three hundred kilograms. Adult Velociraptors did not belong to this category. If he had the dragon-slaying stinger in hand, Haman was very confident that he could complete the mission. Now he could only judge the circumstances at each step according to the mixed smell of the wind blowing in his face. Haman avoided the places where the dinosaurs lived together. He walked toward the water source. It was inevitable that creatures would often appear near the water source. If it didn¡¯t work, he was ready for a protracted struggle. Someone had done all kinds of tests on the dinosaurs to find their weaknesses. There was only one way to kill them other than the killing from mutants and their kind. That was starvation. The dinosaurs would not die from asphyxiation or poisoning. But the exception was that they would die from starvation. The experimenter had spent half a year starving dozens of dinosaurs to death. That was when he announced another possibility to kill the dinosaurs. However, the dinosaurs had powerful survival abilities. Even if they didn¡¯t eat or drink, they would still need at least half a month to starve to death. The longest time was a whole half a year. ¡ After walking for half an hour, Haman came to a water source. However, he didn¡¯t rashly approach it. He wasn¡¯t the only one who wanted to wait for the dinosaurs. Some powerful predators would stay for them near the water source., and this was a lesson Haman had learned from a harrowing experience. According to his experience, Haman found a high point. It was full of rocks, and there was only a little grass in the cracks of the stones. He then used crushed grass leaves to smear on himself. On the one hand, he used it to cover the smell. On the other hand, of course, to hide. Haman was still wearing the same clothes when he was in the outside world. He had specially made them. There were many strips of cloth on them. When the wind blew, it was like a bush of grass. If you were a little further away, you would not be able to see where Haman was hiding. However, the clothes were withered yellow because the grass in the wilderness outside was all withered. Now, he had dyed it green with grass. Although it could only last for a few hours, it was enough for him to observe the situation. Lying quietly on the top of the stone mound, Haman observed the dinosaurs that came to the water source one after another. There were many kinds of dinosaurs on this grassland, and he had never seen any of them. There were epidexipteryx, who had white hair and extended hands. And Microceratus, who had a tiny horned dragon with bone plates but short horns like triceratops. There was also Wannanosaurus with a mane on its back. ¡ Haman also saw the predators near this water source. It was a pair of Microraptor brothers. They had colourful feathers on them and were nearly two meters long. The Microraptor brothers, who could fly for a short time, were undoubtedly the overlords of this water area. They worked well together. Usually, one would jump down from the tree to attract the attention of the prey. The other would lunge forward and forcefully kill its prey. In just two short hours, Haman had watched the two brothers hunted six times. And they had succeeded five times. However, Haman had thrown a rock that weighed nearly twenty kilograms from this height and successfully hit a Microraptor, and they also killed each other. However, as the red light flashed, the Microraptor walked away as if nothing had happened. Lying quietly on top of the pile of rocks with weeds, Haman thought of a way to deal with it. The sky darkened gradually. He had to find a place to shelter from the cold. He wondered if this place would be like a wilderness, where the temperature at night could reach minus fifteen degrees Celsius. ¡ Then he lit a fire in a cave. The flickering flames illuminated his face. He carefully thought about the situation during the day. Then he thought about the Wannanosaurus that was eating grass silently, the Microraptor that could kill others in one strike. ¡°I got it!¡± Haman was excited and thought of a way to complete the mission. As long as he could catch a carnivorous dinosaur, he would have a weapon. A living weapon. Chapter 11 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Haman was never a procrastinator. A procrastinator would never survive in the wilderness. It¡¯s not easy to trap a dinosaur with a trap. If it¡¯s not necessary, it was better to trap the dinosaur with a surprise for a while. It was enough to get rid of the dinosaur during this time. Haman arched himself and walked through the lush grass. Because the dinosaur was mighty, the location of the trap had to be selected. It could not be a place where the dinosaur did not come, nor could it be a place where there were too many dinosaurs. If the dinosaur did not come, it was, of course, impossible to catch them. But if there were too many dinosaurs, then no matter what the trap was. He would be trampled to pieces by a group of dinosaurs. Nothing could resist a group of dinosaurs. And this was a lesson that humans had learned with countless blood and lives. It was a sizeable oval-shaped lake right in front of Haman. He was standing at one end of the Oval. The other half of the Oval was surrounded by mountains. If he wanted to get to that half oval, he would either have to go over the mountains or pass through the hunting grounds of the Microraptor. Moreover, even if he went in there, It was like catching a turtle in a jar once the Microraptor discovered him. Therefore, Haman could only set traps here, and it was best to stay away from them. According to Haman¡¯s understanding of the dinosaurs in the wilderness, it was not easy to trap them. They would not be injured. When they were trapped, they all struggled hard. He twirled the weeds around him. Then he looked satisfied. ¡°The grass is good.¡± It was much better than the dead grass in the wilderness. You could crush the withered grass in the wilderness into powder easily. But there would only be a few marks on the turquoise grass even if he creased them a little. Lying in the haystack, Haman thought as he wove the rope with the grass leaves. ¡°What should I use as bait?¡± After all, Haman had nothing on him now. He was penniless. If he had to use meat, he had to go hunting. Besides Haman, there were only dinosaurs in this place as living creatures. But he couldn¡¯t beat any of them. ¡°What about vegetarian food?¡± This place is full of grass, and why did those dinosaurs have to eat in his trap? Haman had never encountered such a problem in the wilderness. Although there were many dinosaurs in the wilderness, at least some species were left from the past. But they were all much more significant. According to the old priest, the mosquitoes were as giant as the dragonflies of the past. If you wanted to ask how giant dragonflies were now? The old priest didn¡¯t mention it, and Haman had never seen one either. But even if it was a mutated creature. Haman could capture it as long as it wasn¡¯t a dinosaur. He would use it as bait. But now, he really couldn¡¯t think of anything that could be used as bait. He was thinking hard but didn¡¯t stop moving in his hands. In the blink of an eye, a grass rope appeared in his hands. Of course, the grass rope wasn¡¯t strong enough at this time, so he had to weave it again and again. When the grass rope gradually became round and more than ten meters long. It was getting gradually dark. It seemed that there was also day and night in this place. The night was coming, so it was even more unsafe here. According to Haman¡¯s experience, if the wilderness were a dangerous place full of fierce beasts during the day, nature would become a carnival of ferocious beasts at night. No matter how different it was from the wilderness, Haman understood that his vision at night was not as good as the dinosaurs. And he must be courting death using a trap to catch the dinosaurs at night. Then he returned to a tree hole that he had seen during the day carefully according to his memory. The outside was covered with sparse long grass, ensuring concealment without affecting his observation of the situation. With the strong willpower he had developed over the years, Haman only slept five minutes at a time. He didn¡¯t want to be ignorant when those enemies were approaching. Haman wasn¡¯t worried about his safety since he had experienced this many times before. He only worried about what would happen to Holly. ¡°Will Holly keep watch for him because he sees that I will not wake up?¡± Looking at the three moons in the sky, Haman was a little worried. The moonlight was like water pouring down on the grassland. For some reason, Haman saw the situation on the grassland clearly with the light of the moon. The night here was far less crazy than in the wilderness. Although it was a little more dangerous than the day, there were only a few more roars. Five minutes and after another five minutes, it was already morning. Haman looked at the enormous red sun rising from the mountain on the other side of the lake. The dew on the grass was gradually evaporating under the sunlight. He knew that it was the best time to set up a trap. It was just morning, and no dinosaurs would come to the lake to get water because of the dew left at night. When he set the traps while the thirsty dinosaurs would come to the lake to drink at noon, he would only have to take advantage of the situation at this moment. After finding a big tree, he tied one end of the rope to the tree¡¯s thick branches and tied a knot on the other end. To be honest, Haman still couldn¡¯t think of anything to use as bait. In the end, he could only gather a bunch of the most tender grass leaves and use them as bait. He didn¡¯t know if it would work. After putting the grass leaves in the middle of the knot, Haman added a net to the trap. Then he hid in the tree and waited for the dinosaurs to pass. He had made a careful observation yesterday. And found that there were no other dinosaurs that could climb trees other than Microraptor. Even Microraptor was not very good at climbing trees. He watched the red sun slowly moved toward the top of his head. Haman chewed on the bark. He only chewed out the sweet water and stuffed the remaining residue into the gaps of the tree trunk. Those were all cellulose, and humans could not digest them. Seeing the dinosaurs walking past one after another, Haman did not panic. So far, six dinosaurs had seen the grass ball. They were all interested in the grass ball, but unfortunately, none stuck their heads out to eat it. Haman felt that maybe the human smell on the grass ball was too strong, and it would be fine after it dispersed. Haman was now patient enough. When he did not have a headache in the past, it was not difficult for him to find a safe place in the wilderness and stay there for three to four days. Finally, Haman¡¯s efforts didn¡¯t go in vain. A Microceratus poked its head out, looked around, and it was carefully eating the fresh and tender grass leaves. Haman pulled the knot around him, and a branch that had trimmed with only components left bounced up. The knot quickly contracted, and they hung in the air together with the Microraptor. ¡°Awesome!¡± Haman cheered in his heart. It cost him only one day and one night to capture a dinosaur. It was something worth bragging about. A cracking sound rang in Haman¡¯s ear. He was too familiar with this sound. It was the sound of a carnivorous dinosaur walking on the grass with its sharp claws cutting through the leaves. As expected, a Microraptor jumped up from the ground and bit the Microraptor on its body. Chapter 12 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare ¡°Damn it!¡± Haman cursed in his heart. He hadn¡¯t even seen the Microraptor just now. Although he had set the trap successfully, it had been intercepted. And it wasn¡¯t the first time he had encountered such a situation. He would always encounter such a situation in the wilderness. He had no choice but to temporarily give up on the prey he was about to get. It carefully moved along the tree trunk and prepared to escape in another direction. The Microraptor was the only one who could climb trees on this grassland! If he didn¡¯t leave quickly, Haman and the Microraptor might even be its food. Then he slowly moved along the rough tree trunk, trying his best not to make a sound. The Microraptor was still gnawing on the Microraptor¡¯s neck, trying to put the prey on the ground. ¡°Why didn¡¯t it just bite off the rope? Isn¡¯t it much faster than biting off the Microraptor¡¯s neck?¡± Haman was puzzled, but he didn¡¯t stop leaving. The longer he stayed here, the greater the possibility of being discovered, and the greater the danger it would be. A familiar crack noise appeared again. Haman climbed down from the tree and turned around, then he saw a Microraptor under the tree, and it was looking at him. ¡°Oh no!¡± Haman¡¯s heart was beating fast. ¡°So, this is the Microraptor of yesterday?¡± Now that there were both dinosaurs on both sides, Haman felt that it was hard to escape. ¡°No, I can¡¯t die here!¡± Haman roared in his heart. He glanced at the other side of the big tree from the corner of his eye. The Microraptor was still trying its best to bite the Microraptor¡¯s neck. It was already half-broken, and it was about to break it. At that time, Haman would have to face two Microraptor! He grabbed a piece of bark from the tree and threw it into the distance. The Microraptor under the tree saw a black shadow fly out and immediately looked in that direction. Haman was like an eagle pouncing straight down from the tree. With a bang, he landed several meters away from the Microraptor. After rolling around on the ground, Haman stood up and ran. He couldn¡¯t beat it, and he could never beat it. He could only run away to survive. On the other side, the Microraptor, who didn¡¯t care about anything and only cared about biting the Microraptor, immediately stopped biting after hearing Haman falling from the tree. It also jumped down from the air. And it ran towards Haman. At the same time, the Microraptor, which the tree bark had attracted, also came back to its senses. It ran towards Haman. Picking up a branch that had fallen while pruning the tree branch, Haman ran towards the large group of dinosaurs. It was undoubtedly a stupid decision to compete with the Microraptor in speed on the grassland. He could only survive by risking his life and using the herbivorous dinosaurs to block the Microraptor, sot that he would be able to escape. But Haman didn¡¯t expect that the Microraptor that jumped down from the sky seemed to know what Haman was thinking. Since it was blocked between Haman and the group of dinosaurs, Haman stopped and looked at the two microreactors in front and behind him. He knew that today wouldn¡¯t be a good day for him. Clutching the wooden club in his hand, Haman turned his body and looked at the two Microraptors. The two Microraptor¡¯s behaviour today was bizarre. They seem highly unusual, whether they are gnawing on Microraptor or anticipating where they were going in advance. The Microraptor that was close to the group of dinosaurs slowly approached. Haman was prepared to risk his life to try and survive. However, he discovered that the Microraptor that was close to the big tree was slowly retreating. ¡°What is it doing?¡± Haman was highly puzzled. ¡°Could it be that these two Microraptors aren¡¯t planning to kill me?¡± No matter what, since these two Microraptor didn¡¯t have any intention to attack, Haman wasn¡¯t going to act rashly. If it were in the wilderness, the dinosaurs that intercepted Haman¡¯s trap would only do two things. First, they would kill the dinosaur that had entered the trap. Second, they would kill Haman. But the two microreactors in front of him seemed to be completely different. Not only were they not prepared to kill him, but they didn¡¯t show any kind of hatred that Haman was familiar with. The two Microraptor forced him back under the big tree. One Microraptor guarded Haman, preventing him from escaping. The other continued to jump on the Microraptor that was still hanging in the air. It continued biting its neck. Looking at the two fierce beasts in front of him, Haman kept thinking in his mind. ¡°Maybe?¡± ¡°Just maybe?¡± ¡°These two Microraptors have only never seen a human before, and they do not hate humans?¡± ¡°It is hard to say!¡± After all, Haman was still ignorant. He even didn¡¯t know whether it was a natural place or not. Finally, the Microraptor moved to the ground separately. They pointed their tails at the trap that was still hanging in the air. ¡°Rearrange the trap?¡± Of course, they didn¡¯t understand what Haman was saying. But fortunately, their intelligence wasn¡¯t low. As Haman gestured, they understood what he meant. After a friendly exchange, Haman understood what they meant. The two Microraptor wanted Haman to work for them because they found it much easier than hunting by themselves. Haman had no better ideas. He had to accept since it was their territory. After rearranging the trap, Haman stayed in the tree. The two Microraptor saw that Haman had no intention of escaping, so they let him go. Standing in the tree, Haman watched the two Microraptors chase the group of compsognathus in all directions. Some of them ran this way. There was already a large group of compsognathuss standing under the tree. That didn¡¯t need bait at all. There were too many Compsognathus, and some of them would be trapped as long as Haman pulled the trap. When the Microraptor came under the tree, the compsognathus was still struggling in the air. The Microraptor bit off the compsognathus¡¯s neck once. Scarlet blood spurted out from the compsognathus¡¯s slender neck, dyeing half of its body red. Haman continued to set up the trap without complaining. ¡°Bang.¡± A massive piece of flesh fell in front of Haman. He looked up and saw a Microraptor motioning to Haman. This was the food given to him. ¡°Share Food?¡± These two Microraptor didn¡¯t have any hostility toward him. He was initially a little depressed, but now he felt so happy in his heart. ¡°Escape?¡± ¡°What?¡± ¡°No.¡± ¡°Microraptor is my brother, and nobody should dare to oppose them since they are my brothers.¡± ¡°It was all a misunderstanding when I escaped at the beginning!¡± At this time, Haman didn¡¯t panic. After wandering in the wilderness for so long, Haman could still hum songs and set traps. After setting up the traps, Haman walked to the lakeside with the meat. He washed the blood off the dinosaur meat. There were only dinosaurs running on the ground, not in the sky nor the water. Sitting by the lakeside, Haman was eating the fresh dinosaur meat happily. Seeing the Microraptor working hard, he felt pleased. Chapter 13 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Gradually, it was evening. Haman had already rearranged the trap. Haman had modified this trap to trigger automatically. As long as someone stepped on the web, they would be suspended in mid-air. He only needed to set up a trap every half an hour, and he would get a large piece of meat. To be honest, this was much more comfortable than Haman hunting in the wilderness. So far, Haman and his team had captured nearly ten dinosaurs. And Haman got one-third of them. This was the suggestion of the Microraptor brothers. Although they couldn¡¯t speak, Haman could feel it. Their IQ was much higher than those of the dinosaurs in the wilderness. In less than half a day, they could barely understand what Haman was saying. Of course, the dinosaurs on the grassland were more intelligent than the ones in the wilderness. Haman¡¯s traps were only helpful for the first time, so he had to change them constantly. Haman found several herbs on the grassland when he was free based on his own experience and made an ointment. The ointment could not cure the disease. Its only function was to make the wound bleed. Seeing that it was getting dark again, the Microraptor brothers, who had been working all day, were a little tired. They dragged their prey into the nest and kept it to eat slowly. Now the Microraptor brothers were constantly inviting Haman to their nest. Haman waved his hand and said slowly, ¡°When night comes, do me a favour. I want to catch a dinosaur.¡± As he said that, he gestured for the Microraptor brothers to understand what he meant. They looked at each other and looked at the person who had helped them capture so many preys. ¡°Since he has helped us so much, we should help him too!¡± ¡°You¡¯re right!¡± Haman saw the exchange between their cold eyes. These two microraptors were indeed very smart. After reaching an agreement, Haman rearranged the trap. This time, he used more than one rope. Haman twined two more ropes during the day. Each rope was connected to a tree. As long as the prey stepped on any traps, they would be bound by three ropes simultaneously. If they could still break free, then Haman would have no other ideas. The Microraptor brothers fell into a shallow sleep on the tree. Haman looked at the three moons in the sky, waiting for the prey. The endless green grass billowed like waves in the breeze. Haman had seen a vast monster last night. It was probably the size of a D-class dinosaur. The vast monster looked like a compsognathus very much. It also had a vast flathead, a long, thin tail, and sharp teeth and claws. The only difference was that the compsognathus¡¯s neck was much more delicate. It could withstand an even more significant impact on its neck. If not for the help of the Microraptor brothers, perhaps Haman¡¯s final choice of prey would be those like the compsognathus and Microraptor. But now, how could Haman be reconciled if he didn¡¯t challenge the most powerful creature in this place. He placed the prey of the day in the middle of the trap, emitting a thick smell of blood and swaying in the wind. A compsognathus carefully entered the trap and ate the delicious prey in the web. Haman saw it but did not move. Even if the compsognathus finished all the prey in the trap, Haman would not activate the web. The compsognathus in the trap swallowed as it looked up and surveyed its surroundings. However, the tall grass blocked its vision, and it could not see a giant creature hidden in the grass. ¡°Whoosh.¡± Like a sharp sword unsheathed. However, this was only the sound of the enormous creature¡¯s sharp claws tearing through the ground. A cracking sound appeared. The creature quickly cut off the compsognathus¡¯s tail with its enormous mouth. After losing its tail, the compsognathus also lost its balance, and at the same time, it was bleeding a lot. A large amount of blood loss made the compsognathus dizzy. At this time, it was going to die. Sure enough, an even larger ¡°compsognathus¡± appeared in the moonlight with blood still hanging from the corner of its mouth. It was the creature that just chewed off the compsognathus¡¯s tail. With another cracking sound, the compsognathus¡¯s neck also broke. The vast creature, or the compsognathus, had no intention of dodging. It just stood there and was enjoying its meal. As the biggest-sized D-class dinosaur and a carnivore dinosaur, the compsognathus was confident that no one could snatch food from its mouth. After leisurely eating the food, the compsognathus still seemed unsatisfied. The compsognathus just now was not enough as its food. Fortunately, there was still a lot of food waiting for it to eat in the distance. It must be that a tactful dinosaur fled in a hurry after seeing it and even gave up the food it got. It quietly walked into the area of the trap and leisurely ate the food just like before. At this moment, Haman was in the darkness. Looking at the massive monster in front of him, Haman suppressed the excitement in his heart and activated the trap. Three enormous trees suddenly stood up and pulled the three grass ropes buried in the ground straight. With a crash sound in the air Two of the ropes had hit the target. The compsognathus fell in the air. It was as if it was torn apart by five horses. But there was only a flash of red light, and the compsognathus was not hurt at all. But it couldn¡¯t resist the strength of the two big trees. And it could only roar. It woke up the sleeping Microraptor brothers. They opened their eyes and walked towards their prey together with Haman. They had cooperated with him more than ten times yesterday. Without waiting for Haman to order, they took the initiative to pounce on them. They avoided the rope, bit a piece of the compsognathus¡¯s flesh, and tore it off ruthlessly. Immediately, blood flowed out of the compsognathus¡¯s body. The compsognathus hung in the air looked at the little creatures, but it didn¡¯t care about them at all. But it didn¡¯t expect to be caught by these little things. ¡°Roar!!!¡± The roar was filled with desolation. No matter what, the compsognathus had ruled this place for many years. When Haman saw the wounds on the compsognathus, he didn¡¯t let the little Microraptor brothers continue to attack. He took out a herb and smeared it on the compsognathus¡¯s wound. The wound that initially had a layer of scab began to bleed again, and it was even more ferocious than before. Just like that, every time the wound was about to stop bleeding, Haman would apply a layer of herb on it. Then the compsognathus finally stopped moving until the Moon was high in the sky, and the three moons had passed over the top of its head. Another piece of parchment appeared in front of Haman. There were some words: The mission was completed, all the assignments would be completed, and you would return to reality once the corresponding flesh and blood of 100 grams were devoured. He threw the parchment in his hand into the air. With a flash of fire on it, the parchment instantly turned into ashes. Haman took a deep look at the Microraptor brothers and tore off a piece of flesh from the compsognathus. The red light on the compsognathus¡¯s body had already disappeared. Haman did not care about the blood on it and swallowed it in one gulp. Chapter 14 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare After swallowing flesh and blood, Haman felt a power awaken in his body. It was a power that flowed from the depths of his genes, which was incomparably powerful. He raised his head and looked at the three moons in the sky as if they were three eyes. The initially bright moonlight was gradually stained with a trace of red. The pure white moon slowly became blood red. It dyed the entire night sky bright red.. Haman felt like he was floating in the water while countless gentle water currents were hitting his body. Haman had never been more relaxed as if he was enjoying a massage. Suddenly, he had a feeling of falling from the sky, and Haman suddenly opened his eyes. It was no longer the green prairie in front of him. Haman returned to the cave. The stone table was in front of him. There was a D button on the table. There were three changing patterns on it. Now, one of them had stopped changing. It had become a compsognathus. Looking around, he found that there was no change in the cave. The cabinet was still covered in chaos, and the bronze door was still locked. ¡ Haman woke up from his dream and opened his eyes immediately. Holly was still sitting at the entrance of the cave. He was looking at the situation outside through the gap of the leather curtain. It¡¯s not entirely bright outside yet. ¡°Holly, how long have I slept?¡± It was the question that Haman was most concerned about. Holly should have been waiting here for two days if it was the same time in the dream and the outside world. ¡°Huh?¡± Holly was a little confused, but he still said, ¡°Just like before, you slept for less than four hours.¡± Hearing this, Haman was relieved. Sitting up from the bed, Holly started to pack up the things in the house. ¡°Don¡¯t rush.¡± Haman took out the kettle and took a sip. Then he began to examine himself. The parchment clearly said that he had obtained the ability to become a compsognathus. Then he closed his eyes and carefully felt the changes inside his body. There seemed to be a bead in his body that was constantly moving. Haman focused his attention on the bead. It was a transparent bead with a small phantom inside. It was a compsognathus that was roaring toward the sky. Apart from that, Haman also saw that there were many unformed beads in his body. The Phantoms inside were also incomplete. The complete ones were the beads of the parvicursor. They were only one head away from forming a full bead. Haman didn¡¯t understand it clearly in his heart. If he had not entered the dream to devour the dinosaurs, he would have awakened and become a parvicursor. The completeness of these beads was vaguely arranged according to the number of dinosaurs Haman had eaten. The parvicursor was the easiest dinosaur to capture, and Haman had eaten the most. So it was the most complete. When he understood, Haman focused his attention back on the compsognathus bead. In an instant, Haman felt the brutality and arrogance of the Compsognathus, which was the strongest creature in the region. Opening his eyes, Haman took off his clothes and stood in the emptiest place in the cave. ¡°Brother, what are you doing?¡± Holly was a little confused. He tilted his head and asked, ¡°Didn¡¯t we just take a shower two weeks ago?¡± Haman shook his head. ¡°Stay a little further away.¡± Holly did not know why he still hid in the corner of the cave. Haman closed his eyes and focused his attention. The naked Haman in front of Holly suddenly turned into a dinosaur. It was a two-meter-long dinosaur with a strong body. ¡°? ? ?¡± Holly was shocked. Only one word echoed in his mind. ¡°Mutant¡¡± Haman opened his eyes. The world in front of him was completely different. His two eyes on both sides of his head gave him a 360-degree field of vision. His sharp sense of smell could make him tell how many dinosaurs had died in the cave. The most important thing was the surging power in his body. ¡°Holly, take the bone knife and cut me.¡± Haman¡¯s voice came from inside the compsognathus¡¯s body. ¡°Oh, ok.¡± When Holly heard this, he took the bone knife and cut at him without hesitation. Suppressing his instinct to dodge, Haman took the knife forcefully. As expected, a layer of red light appeared on the surface of Haman¡¯s body and blocked all the attacks. ¡°As expected,¡± Haman was ecstatic. The devouring in the dream could help him become a mutant. ¡°Brother, you did it!¡± Holly threw down the bone knife and ran over to hang it on Haman¡¯s body. ¡ After Haman returned to his original body, he was surprised to find that the only pants were not damaged at all. He shook his head. But it was a waste of time since he couldn¡¯t figure it out. After they celebrated for a while, Haman prepared to send Holly back to school. Becoming a mutated human meant that he could become a citizen of the city, and this was the fact. However, Azure Dragon City was more than 600 miles away from the town. No one knew how many dangers they would encounter on the road. If it were only Haman alone, it would be dangerous there, but it was not impossible to pass. But Holly was still here. Haman could not leave him here. If he brought Holly with him, Haman did not have much confidence that he could pass. He could only wait until someone from the city came so that he could take a lift or wait until winter. In winter, the dinosaurs would move less. Some even went into hibernation. Every winter was the time when dinosaurs disappeared in the Azure Dragon City. And it was the safest to go there at that time. After bringing Holly to the church, Haman turned around and went to Chuck¡¯s grocery store. ¡°Haman, have you been lucky these two days?¡± Chuck was still treacherous as he said. Haman did not say anything. He just put the things on his body on the ground. ¡°What are you doing?¡± Chuck was a little puzzled. ¡°Are you planning to deposit the things with me? You have to pay more.¡± Chuck thought what Haman said yesterday was very good, so he remembered it. But Haman still didn¡¯t say anything and just closed his eyes. In the blink of an eye, a compsognathus stood in front of Chuck. ¡°Dinosaur!¡± Chuck didn¡¯t react and thought it was a real dinosaur, so he screamed in fear. As a series of messy footsteps sounded, the guards of the market town appeared. ¡°Dinosaur? How can there be a dinosaur?¡± ¡°Impossible. This dinosaur definitely cannot enter!¡± Although the market town¡¯s guards were a little flustered, they still organized themselves and prepared to launch an attack on Haman. Each of them held a dragon-slaying spike in their hands, which was tied to a long stick. Seeing that the guards were preparing to attack, Chuck finally reacted. ¡°Hold on, hold on.¡± Chuck spread his hands in front of the guards and said anxiously, ¡°This is not a dinosaur but Haman!¡± Following Chuck¡¯s words, Haman also changed from a dinosaur to a human. He was fully clothed. When the soldiers saw this in front of them, they were stunned again. Chuck quickly went over and held Haman¡¯s hand. Then he said with tears in his eyes, ¡°Haman, you have finally made it. You are the pride of Our Town!¡± Chapter 15 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Haman could predict Chuck¡¯s reaction. Or rather, he deliberately showed it to him so that Chuck would tell others about it. After living in the town for so long, Haman understood that the people in the market town wanted to be citizens. Even the beggars from the city would be treated as emperors in the town. As long as they became mutants, they would become city people. It was just a matter of time.. Once Haman¡¯s identity as a mutant was confirmed, everything he had been worried about would be solved. And it was also why he was willing to gamble in his dreams. ¡ Chuck was not stupid. Even if he didn¡¯t understand why Haman wanted to reveal his identity as a mutant in front of him, he finally understood after a few hours. ¡°Faure, Kinary, take these and spread the news that Haman has become a mutant!¡± Chuck called his two sons. Faure and Kinary took a large bag of beans that Chuck gave them and did not react. ¡°Father, Haman has become a mutant?¡± Faure was a little stunned. ¡°Yes, Father.¡± Kinary continued to ask, ¡°Why do we have to spend to promote him?¡± Looking at his two sons dazed there, Chuck was furious. He took the ledger in his hand and knocked them on the heads. ¡°Why did Haman transform in front of me?¡± ¡°Is he telling me that he is powerful enough and we¡¯re going to flatter him?¡± ¡°Why do I promote him?¡± ¡°To make a show of power for him and save him from the trouble of the past. To flatter him!¡± ¡°Why are you so stupid. Go for it now!¡± The tall and strong brothers carried the beans and went out. ¡°Okay, father, we will spread the news.¡± ¡ After Haman returned to his human form, the guards first congratulated and fawned over him. Then, they gave a bunch of things to Haman using the excuse of compensation. These guards sent food, drinks, clothes, and supplies, Haman¡¯s all living materials for the next few months. Logically speaking, these guards could do more than that. After all, each of them had a dragon-slaying spike in their hands. And Haman couldn¡¯t cause any trouble in front of them even now. But everyone had a dream of entering the city. In their eyes, Haman was already a citizen of the city. As long as he helped them, they could become citizens too. ¡ Faure and Kinary dispatched the beans from door to door, and each one would have one handful of beans. They made sure that everyone knew that Haman had become a mutant. But Chuck¡¯s thoughts were quite different from the guards¡¯. He had already lived in this town for almost a lifetime and devoted himself to this land. It was not that he loved this land deeply, but that he was just used to it. Apart from this place, Chuck was afraid that it would be difficult to do anything else. He was currying favour with Haman now to give his son a chance to see if they could enter the city. To go further, a lot of his goods came from the city. If Haman could help him when he entered the city, perhaps his business could be further improved. ¡ Before it was the hottest time in the short morning, the town was filled with mixed comments. It took only three hours when everyone knew the news that Haman had become a mutant. After the priest learned that Haman had become a mutant, he finally did not have to worry about people gossiping and could openly let Haman into the classroom. Chuck arranged an empty room in his backyard for Haman to live in. Before Haman and Holly entered the cave, it was indeed searched. But this time, they didn¡¯t lose anything. Instead, they got more. That was all food and drink, and there was even one more person. When they reached home, the one-eyed Wolf was standing in front of the cave with a piece of white cloth dyed red with blood. ¡°Mr. Haman, it was our fault before. I hope you can forgive us,¡± the one-eyed Wolf said as he saw him coming back. At the same time, he handed over a box with his uninjured hand. Haman opened the box and saw that there were two boxes inside. One of the boxes was filled with two gemstones. Haman could not identify the gemstones. He had heard that the better the jewels were, the brighter they would be. These two gemstones should not be cheap according to their appearances. And it was a finger inside the other box. ¡°We¡¯ve just spent our annual income to get those two gemstones. Just take it as an apology to you,¡± the one-eyed Wolf said calmly. ¡°As for that finger, I hope you can forget about the past.¡± He placed his injured hand in front of his chest. Looking at the man in front of him, Haman thought that the one-eyed Wolf didn¡¯t need to apologize since he had seen and experienced too many things like robbery. Moreover, Haman hadn¡¯t lost anything last time. However, the one-eyed Wolf had to come and apologize because he couldn¡¯t afford to gamble. Once he lost, Haman would choose to take revenge. Then he couldn¡¯t afford such a cost. It was a powerful benefit. If Haman weren¡¯t a mutant, then no matter how much damage Haman could do to the one-eyed Wolf, he wouldn¡¯t be able to make the man in front of him give in. But now, Haman didn¡¯t say anything, and the one-eyed Wolf came by himself. He wasn¡¯t, or rather, just for himself, but for the people who followed him. Even if the one-eyed Wolf came to apologize, he would not have cut off his finger and even used the blood-stained white cloth to gain sympathy if he didn¡¯t do this for those people. Haman risked his life for Holly, and the one-eyed Wolf also had people he cared about. Thinking of this, Haman waved his hand, took out the gem from the box, and threw it back. ¡°You can leave now. Let the past be the past.¡± The one-eyed Wolf took the box, bowed his head slightly, and then turned to leave. It was straightforward for Haman to risk his life in the wilderness since it was for himself and Holly. The one-eyed Wolf also had his reasons. None of them was wrong, and it was only this world that was wrong. If it wasn¡¯t for the wilderness outside, there was no need for them to risk their lives. Everyone wanted to live a peaceful life, didn¡¯t they? ¡°Haman, from today onwards, we won¡¯t have to carry things around?¡± Seeing the extra things in the cave, Holly asked in surprise. ¡°Not yet!¡± Haman patted his head and said with a smile, ¡°But, that day will come sooner or later.¡± ¡°Sooner or later, even if our things are on the street, no one will take them. Sooner or later, no one will steal our stuff even if we didn¡¯t close the door. Sooner or later, we will all be fine.¡± Chapter 16 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Seven or eight people were walking in the wilderness twenty kilometres outside the town. ¡°Damn it, and I didn¡¯t know that kid was so bad!¡± ¡°You said it back then, and you said it was fine as long as he could know the way!¡± ¡°But I didn¡¯t know that he could only do this.¡± These people had experienced a tragic failure. There were initially more than ten people, but now, half of them were gone. ¡°Stop!¡± A short man wearing a beret roared, ¡°Forget it because we¡¯re already failed.¡± These people were from the capture team that had set out from the town a few days ago. When they had just started, everyone was in high spirits, but now they were discouraged, and almost everyone was injured. ¡ ¡°Holly, be good and stay at home.¡± Haman carried some things that others had sent over and left the house. Holly nodded, put away his homework, and prepared to stand guard at the door. He had just sat up from the ground and paused. Then he remembered that there was no longer a need to stand guard at home. Even the one-eyed Wolf brought gifts to apologize. There was no one else coming to steal other than those who could not live on. A few years before Holly appeared, Haman had already wandered in the wilderness. At that time, he was just ten years old. He was not the current number one hunter in the town, nor was he a mutant. At that time, he was just a child who lived on the remnants of the wild animals in the wilderness. When he encounters any animals occasionally, he might be injured, even if he was a chicken. In the wilderness, being injured was equivalent to death. Haman carried a bag of food and looked at the brick house in front of him. There was a red cloth hanging in front of the house. It was the only pharmacy in the entire town. ¡°You finally remember me!¡± At the entrance of the pharmacy, an older man lying on a rocking chair was smiling. This older man was the only doctor in the whole town. No one knew how old he was this year. He had grey hair, deep wrinkles, and a messy beard. Hearing the old man¡¯s words, Haman immediately walked over with a smile on his face and said, ¡°Why not?¡± ¡°Even if I forget my name, I can¡¯t forget you!¡± If it weren¡¯t for Tok, Haman would have died a few years ago. If he died in the wilderness, his body would be eaten totally by the wild animals. A few years ago, Haman came to come to him almost every day. It was because his hunting skills had improved in recent years, and he was no longer injured, that he didn¡¯t often come. But once he could get something good, Haman would send some to Tok. It was not that Dr Tok lacked food but that he was grateful. At this moment, a man wearing a miner¡¯s uniform came to the pharmacy. ¡°Dr Tok, I have been feeling unwell these days. I keep coughing, and this morning I even coughed up blood.¡± The man looked pale, and he was coughing as he spoke. Dr Tok stood up from the recliner and examined the man. He then turned around and lay back down on the recliner again. Seeing his action, the man understood. Tok would only do this when he met someone he could not save. ¡°Doctor Tok!¡± The man looked even thinner and said anxiously, ¡°Is there no other way?¡± Doctor Tok did not say anything more. He just waved his hand and closed his eyes. Seeing his reaction, the man did not say anything more. He just turned around silently and gradually disappeared into the dust that was stirred up by the wind. Seeing the man gradually disappear into the distance, Haman sighed in his heart. ¡°Is he hopeless?¡± Haman asked softly. Doctor Tok opened his eyes and took a sip of the water beside him. ¡°It¡¯s not that there¡¯s no way. If he can live in the city and stay away from the mine, he can still be cured!¡± Hearing this, Haman fell silent. Not to mention entering the city, even if he had to stay away from the mine, this man wouldn¡¯t be able to do it. If he didn¡¯t go to the mine, he would starve to death in a few days. It wasn¡¯t that this disease couldn¡¯t be cured, but that either of these two conditions wasn¡¯t something a miner could meet. If he couldn¡¯t do it, then he might as well not mention it. It was the cruellest to give people hope and then deprive it of them. It was probably Tok¡¯s last kindness to directly declare that he could not be cured. Haman placed the food in his hand in the pharmacy and squatted next to the recliner. ¡°At that time,¡± Haman looked at the dusky sky that was covered by the yellow sand and said, ¡°Why were you so good to me?¡± Tok sat up from the recliner, took out a cigarette, and lit a match on the sole of his shoe. He puffed and said leisurely, ¡°There¡¯s no reason! I just tried those new drugs on you.¡± All these years, Tok had only helped him once. And he was not the only one to test the new medicine. Hearing this, Haman was not surprised. Instead, he was happy. He smiled and said. ¡°No matter what, I still have to thank you.¡± ¡°Take off your clothes and let me check,¡± Tok said. Hearing this, Haman was a little surprised. However, based on his trust in Tok, Haman still took off his only shirt, revealing his bare upper body. Looking at the smooth and clean body with different muscles, Tok smiled. ¡°It seems that you became a mutant!¡± Tok took a deep puff of his cigarette and put it out under his feet. ¡°Put on your clothes.¡± Haman put on his clothes, full of doubts. Initially, his body was full of hideous scars, but after becoming a mutant, all the spots disappeared. But Haman only guessed that this was because he was a mutant. He didn¡¯t expect Tok to be so familiar with mutants. Looking at Haman¡¯s curious eyes, Dr Tok smiled and said, ¡°Don¡¯t think that I¡¯m so strong. I¡¯ve treated mutants before, but they don¡¯t have any scars on their bodies.¡± Sitting quietly beside the recliner, Haman hesitated and said, ¡°Come with us to the city when it¡¯s winter.¡± Tok smiled and shook his head. ¡°I¡¯ve lived in this town for almost 30 years. There were a few doctors in this town before, but now I¡¯m the only one.¡± ¡°If I go with you to the city, there won¡¯t be any doctors in this town.¡± ¡°Moreover, I love this place. As long as you remember the medical skills I taught you, I¡¯ll be satisfied.¡± Suddenly, there was a riot outside. And someone said in surprise, ¡°The capture team is back. Didn¡¯t they go to Mount Roman? Why are they back now?¡± ¡°Yeah, and their guide Charlie is also missing!¡± Haman suddenly raised his head. It took three days to get Mount Roman from the town. It was a little comfort to be back, but it would also take at least five days. Moreover, they still had to catch the living dinosaur at Mount Roman. How could they come back today? Suddenly, that guy appeared in Haman¡¯s mind for some reason. Chapter 17 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Now that he had calculated the time they had left, it was likely that the capture team had only gone for less than five days. If they travelled back and forth were included, they had not captured the dinosaur at all. It was even possible that they had not reached Mount Roman at all. Logically speaking, there should not have been any danger along the way if the guns in those people¡¯s hands had worked on the dinosaur. After all, they were people from the city. They wouldn¡¯t make such a mistake. Haman stood at the entrance of the pharmacy, watching the returning capture team. The refugees in the town came out from their houses one after another, touching and observing. They were already curious about these people from the city. Now, they were even more curious about what had happened to these people. When the capture team left, there were still seventeen people, and there were eighteen along with a guide. But now, there were only eight people left. ¡°When they came to town, they were still fair and clean without a beard on their faces. Now, they¡¯re the same as us,¡± Haman sighed. Although Haman¡¯s life had improved a lot in the past few years, it was still impossible for him to take a bath. Everyone had a limited amount of water each day. It was only enough for cooking and drinking. In terms of water consumption, everyone was treated equally in Azure Dragon City. Therefore, things like taking a bath had no fate with Haman and the others. The only chance was about luck. If it was not acid rain, they could take a bath. As for whether it could be washed clean? Forget it! It rained once a month in the wilderness, and there was a high possibility that it was acid rain. Now, the tanned Haman was quite happy to see these people become like him. There were many holes in that guy¡¯s clothes. Still, after careful observation, Haman found that he looked as embarrassed as the others. But he was light in his steps. From this point alone, this guy was much stronger than others. This was within Haman¡¯s expectations. After all, when this short guy looked at Haman, he felt like a wild beast was staring at him. The short guy seemed to be annoyed by the attention of the refugees, then he ordered, ¡°Hurry up and find the boss of the grocery store. Don¡¯t let these refugees look at us like monkeys.¡± After receiving the order, the people with guns pointed their dark muzzles at the surrounding refugees. They said fiercely, ¡°Go back to your pigsty.¡± When the refugees saw that they seemed to be a little angry from embarrassment, they immediately hid back. The noise in the market town gradually died down. Everyone only dared to hide in the caves or houses and whisper. If they felt that it was enough to chat with the family, they could still go next door. After all, a curtain was not soundproof. Haman stood at the entrance of the pharmacy and watched. After all, the pharmacy could not be closed. He then saw the eight people heading in the direction of the grocery store. They were probably going to look for Chuck to settle the score. After all, the guide was recommended by Chuck. Now, not only did the guide not take them to the place, but he even left himself outside. Perhaps the guide had done something that caused them to return in such a sorry state. Haman saw the group of people patting on the door of Chuck¡¯s grocery store. But Chuck slowly opened the door from the inside, looking very calm. Haman had been worried about Chuck, but seeing how calm he was, he felt he did not have to worry about him anymore. Now, a group of people was gathered at the entrance of the grocery store. One of them with a gun asked, ¡°What kind of guide did you find for us?¡± Chuck asked curiously, ¡°What¡¯s wrong with the guide?¡± Chuck was curious. Logically speaking, he should be a senior hunter and wouldn¡¯t make those low-level mistakes. What exactly did these people encounter? ¡°What else?¡± The guy with the gun was furious. ¡°We haven¡¯t even walked out for a day, and he had brought us to the nest of a group of dinosaurs.¡± ¡°We spent three days but still couldn¡¯t find the way to Mount Roman!¡± The market town in Mount Roman wasn¡¯t far, probably less than 50 kilometres away. However, because dinosaurs had occupied the market town for a long time, the original road surface had been in disrepair for a long time, so there was no way. Moreover, there were many dangers on the road, so they took three days to get there. However, there was still a way to get to Mount Roman. As long as they followed the dinosaurs¡¯ route to fetch water, they would be able to find their way quickly. Therefore, the guide was unable to lead the capture team to find the route. ¡°And then? Where is he?¡± Chuck asked in a daze. The other person with a gun growled. ¡°He disappeared before he could find the route. As a hunter, he didn¡¯t even know when the dinosaurs were moving!¡± ¡°He was trampled to death by the dinosaurs when he left early in the morning.¡± ¡°When we found him, he was already surrounded by flies.¡± ¡°And there were so many dinosaurs on the road he took us on. We almost couldn¡¯t be back.¡± Haman was stunned when he heard that. ¡°No, something must be wrong!¡± He had been to Mount Roman before, and the dinosaurs there were no different. There were indeed the fewest dinosaurs in the morning. However, it was usual since there were so many dinosaurs. After all, it was the way for the dinosaurs to get water. The guide probably had saved the best to the last. As long as no one led the dinosaurs, it was impossible to get their way out of that place. At least, Haman now felt that he was not very good. It seemed that this group of people was quite capable since they could bring eight people back. Chuck leaned against the door frame. ¡°Oh, so that¡¯s how it is. However, I may not have time to help you find a guide these days. I have to help boss with something.¡± At this time, Chuck¡¯ was not as subservient as he was at the beginning. He directly refused them. Haman knew who the boss Pulis was. Most of the goods in Chuck¡¯s grocery store were taken from him. Chuck and Pulis had no relationship. He only said this to tell them that he was working for Pulis. The men with guns were all stunned. Even the short man frowned. They didn¡¯t expect that the person they wanted to deal with was boss Pulis. ¡°Captain, look.¡± A man with a gun pointed at Haman from afar and said, ¡°It¡¯s the man with a mental illness.¡± The short man followed the man¡¯s finger and saw Haman. He then turned around and asked Chuck, ¡°Is that the only one who can take us to Mount Roman?¡± Chuck finally saw Haman standing in front of the pharmacy. He was a little flustered. The last time he recommended Haman, it was partly because of Haman. After all, if he did well this time, he might get some rewards from the people in the city. As for danger? It was dangerous to survive in this wilderness. If Chuck wanted benefits, everyone had to risk their lives! But now, it was different. Haman had become a mutant. As long as there were no accidents, Chuck would become a person from the city. What was an accident? Wasn¡¯t it an accident now? Chapter 18 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare Chuck was an old and intelligent person. In a moment of desperation, he came up with a solution. He used to ask Haman to lead the way for his good since this was an opportunity to build a relationship with the city people. But now that Haman had become a mutant, he was a city dweller. It was better not to have this opportunity. Moreover, it seemed that Haman didn¡¯t want to lead the way for them. If he recommended Haman again, their relationship would probably be strained. Therefore, he could only refuse this.. ¡°There is indeed no problem with that!¡± Chuck smiled. Everyone knew that there would be a ¡°But¡± after this sentence. ¡°But.¡± Sure enough, as expected, Chuck said, ¡°Haman is indeed not very clear-headed. Didn¡¯t you guys see it last time?¡± After Chuck said that, the people with guns all nodded. It seemed to be true! ¡°Last time when we went to look for him, what did this kid say?¡± One of the people with guns seemed not to understand the situation. ¡°Hey!¡± Another person sighed. ¡°That kid just talked something nonsense. He said that he would never arrive before he arrived!¡± Seeing that this matter had been fooled by himself, Chuck was delighted. But at this moment. The short guy wearing the beret did not look at Chuck. He kept staring at Haman and said coldly, ¡°Tell him that we have recruited him. We will set off after we have repaired.¡± Hearing this, Chuck knew that he could not stop them. He could only wink at Haman and said helplessly. ¡°Come on. Haman has become a mutant these two days. He will probably be a citizen soon. I can¡¯t inform him. You guys should go and tell him yourself.¡± The short guy was still as cold as before. There was no change in his expression. On the other hand, those who were holding guns all looked shocked. ¡°It has only been a few days, and he has already realized it?¡± ¡°It must have been two years since a mutated human came out of the town. This kid is a genius!¡± ¡°You know, just because he was the number one hunter in the town before he awakened, it has proved his talent!¡± Chuck finally understood. These people with guns were nothing. The only one who could make a decision was the short guy. So, he didn¡¯t care about the noisy people with guns but just looked at the short guy. ¡°Let¡¯s go back first,¡± the short guy said, and the people with guns immediately quieted down. ¡°Bell, go and drive the car over.¡± Looking at the heavy SUV drive away, Chuck patted his chest. He was also afraid that these people would come to settle scores with him. Fortunately, he used the name of Pulis to muddle his way through. If it weren¡¯t for the fact that he was relying on his prestige today, he would probably be in big trouble. Ever since he saw those city people go into the town, Chuck knew today was dangerous. The reason why he had been a lackey before was to leave a good impression on these people so that he could deal with them in the future. Now that even the guide had not returned, it was unlikely that they would be able to get along well. They would even be lucky if they were not killed. Therefore, Chuck could only mention Pulis. To be honest, Chuck did not know how much power Pulis had in the city. But every time he mentioned him, he felt deeply that this was useful. Chuck walked over to Haman and wanted to discuss this matter. ¡°What do you think they¡¯re trying to do?¡± Chuck was holding an iron cage that contained the living dinosaur that Haman had sold him last time. ¡°It seems that the people in the city don¡¯t accept this thing either?¡± When Chuck saw the capture team come to capture a living dinosaur last time, he mistakenly thought that this thing was popular in the city now. So he asked Haman to capture a live dinosaur and sell it to the city at a high price to make a profit. In the end, after asking for a few days, no one wanted it. Haman pondered for a while and said, ¡°Once it is sold, it will not be returned.¡± Chuck was stunned for a moment and said hopelessly, ¡°I¡¯m not talking about this. I¡¯m talking about why they want to capture that live dinosaur?¡± Chuck also knew Haman¡¯s character. As long as he did not provoke him, nothing would happen. Moreover, when Haman thought of something good, he would think of Dr Tok. He knew that he was grateful. Then he wasn¡¯t as reserved as when he first found out that Haman had become a mutant. To be honest, Chuck didn¡¯t care about the money to buy the dinosaur. ¡ Perhaps the capture team was really in a mess this time, so they took a long time to recover and didn¡¯t come out again after more than six days. According to what they said, the capture team would make another trip to Mount Roman. There was a road between the town and Azure Dragon City. Moreover, it was a good road that was often maintained. Unlike the wilderness, where four-wheeled vehicles could not drive, they could only walk on their legs. Even if Azure Dragon City was quite far away, they could barely drive one round trip in a day. Unfortunately, if Haman wanted to go to Azure Dragon City, he had to go alone. ¡°Why should others bring him to the city?¡± Therefore, Haman still had to wait until winter before he could bring Holly to Azure Dragon City. However, these days were the most comfortable days for Haman. The day when the capture team left, a burst of acid rain fell from the sky. After the acid rain, they could not go out for several days. Because the prey did not like acid rain even more, and they would not come out for a few days as long as it rained. When he had nothing to do, he would go to the church to listen to classes these few days. Now, the priest would let him sit in the classroom openly, not afraid of others gossiping. In his spare time, Haman also wondered why those people wanted to go to Mount Roman and why they were sure that the living dinosaur was there? But he only thought about it. Haman never wasted any time when he couldn¡¯t figure it out. That day, after school, Haman went to the grocery store and asked Chuck to buy something. After that, Chuck pulled Haman and Holly to sit down and eat something. Although it could only be the icing on the cake, it couldn¡¯t be compared to the coal in the snow for now. But Chuck felt that the investment was worth it. They sat in the courtyard eating peanuts while chatting. Suddenly, Chuck seemed to have thought of something, and he reminded Haman. ¡°Prius, the boss who supplies me, told me unintentionally yesterday that it seems that the city is a little chaotic now, and there are fights everywhere.¡± ¡°What¡¯s chaotic?¡± Haman asked in a deep voice. ¡°He didn¡¯t say what exactly happened, and I didn¡¯t even dare to ask,¡± Chuck said. ¡°I¡¯ll tell you when I have any news. These days, anything strange is not a good thing.¡± After returning to his cave, Holly asked curiously, ¡°Why did Chuck say that anything strange these days is usually not a good thing?¡± Haman thought for a moment. ¡°Maybe it¡¯s because there are too few good things for us. Only things that are beneficial to us are considered good.¡± ¡°Then are we wrong?¡± Holly continued to ask. Haman looked at him and said, ¡°Remember, it¡¯s not wrong to think this way. Only things that are beneficial to us are good. There¡¯s nothing wrong with being selfish.¡± ¡°We have to be people with a bottom line, but we definitely can¡¯t be a false bad person!¡± Chapter 19 Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare There would be a few days of idleness every year. Just as Haman was about to go out to the wilderness, it started to rain again. He threw the finished bones out of the cave and watched as the bones slowly melted. ¡°Well, it is acid rain again.¡± After all, a month ago, there had been raining that was not acid rain. This year, there was no hope again. However, it had rained three times in the past month. It was indeed a little abnormal.. He did not know if acid rain would fall in the city. Haman felt that there would be acid rain there. After all, even if it was in the city, the sky was the same. So there should be acid rain too. Wearing a straw raincoat, Haman went out. Whenever it rained, he would go to the pharmacy and treat the patients with Tok. Moreover, Haman¡¯s medical skills had always been good. After all, he had become a good doctor after a long illness. Haman had suffered countless injuries since he was young, and he had already gained experience in treating his wounds. No one would steal the straw raincoat because every family had it. This was made from the withered grass in the wilderness. In the past, when there was no such thing, everyone could only stay at home once there was acid rain. However, one day, people found that the withered grass was not affected by the acid rain, so they used it to make a raincoat. ¡°Tok, I¡¯m coming now.¡± Haman hung the raincoat outside to prevent the acid rain from eroding the ground in the pharmacy. ¡°I know. What¡¯s the name?¡± Doctor Tok was treating someone else. ¡°You prescribe medicine for him!¡± The man had a long wound on his leg. When he heard that doctor Tok wanted someone else to treat him, he quickly said. ¡°Doctor, is there any something¡¯s wrong?¡± His voice was trembling. Perhaps it was because he was bleeding too much, so the wound scared the man. However, Haman understood at a glance that there was nothing wrong with his injury. In the town, ¡®Nothing¡¯s wrong¡¯ meant that he wouldn¡¯t die. It had to be said that the refugees were quite optimistic. Other than matters of life and death, nothing was a big deal. Even Doctor Tok, the Doctor who treated 100 but caused 50 deaths, was already the number one fantastic doctor in the town for decades. Of course, this included those who refused Doctor Tok¡¯s treatment. Haman glanced at him. ¡°Take off your pants. It isn¡¯t serious. You won¡¯t die.¡± While cleaning the man¡¯s wound, he asked in boredom, ¡°How did you get this injury?¡± ¡°I originally wanted to go to the mine, but I realized that I forgot something halfway and wanted to bring it back. Then I found that someone was stealing from me. I wanted to catch the thief, but he cut me with a knife.¡± The man looked at Haman¡¯s familiar technique and gradually relaxed. He was still in the mood to chat. ¡°I didn¡¯t only take it with me that day, and that kid came to steal. What a thief! By the way, doctor, I¡¯ve lost so much blood. I won¡¯t die, will I?¡± When the man heard that he wouldn¡¯t die, he relaxed a little. Haman took another look at his wound and wondered if he should give the man in front of him some anaesthetic. Then he looked at the man and said, ¡°We have anaesthetic here. After the anaesthetic is applied, you won¡¯t feel any pain on your wound at all.¡± ¡°Really?¡± The man was stunned for a moment. ¡°Do I need to pay for that?¡± ¡°Of course.¡± Haman was a little angry and laughed. ¡°How can I give you such expensive medicine without money? Your wound is at least seven centimetres long. Wouldn¡¯t you die from the pain if you get sewed such a long wound with a needle?¡± Haman was telling the truth. The wound this time was too much. If it were not sewn up, it would easily cause secondary damage. There were many good men in the town, and Haman had treated many of them. There were always some people who felt that they could bear it. They didn¡¯t have too much money and were reluctant to take the anaesthetic. In the end, they were in so much pain that tears and snot flowed down their faces. At this time, doctor Tok had already taken out the anaesthetic. There was a syringe and a small bottle of anaesthetic on the iron plate. The medical conditions were limited. The doctor could not use a disposable syringe in the pharmacy, so he had to disinfect it every time he used it. Logically speaking, this was not right, but Haman had no other way. What he could do was to disinfect it properly. For example, he could roast the needle on the fire for a while longer. ¡°Doctor, where will you give this needle?¡± The man was a little scared when he saw that the needle and could not help but ask. Haman pursed his lips and said, ¡°Why? Of course, I will stick it in your leg, in case you run away later.¡± ¡°Ah?¡± The man was a little scared. But he quickly realized that Haman was joking with him. Doctor Tok saw that Haman was already very skilled in handling it, so he rested on the recliner. Haman roasted the needle over the fire and then stitched up the man¡¯s wound. With a screech, the fragrance of flesh wafted out. Haman took a look and saw that the freshly sterilized needle was still hot, and it scalded the man. But even so, the man did not move his leg. ¡°You¡¯re brave. You can still hold yourself up like this!¡± Haman praised the man embarrassedly. ¡°Is that so?¡± The man said faintly, ¡°I can¡¯t feel my legs now.¡± ¡ After stitching up the man¡¯s leg, Haman waited for a while to let the anaesthetic wear off. Then, he let the man go back. After waiting for a while and chatting with the doctor, Tok, Haman was ready to go back for a time. But at this moment, Haman saw Chuck running all the way here. ¡°Chuck, what are you doing here?¡± Haman asked curiously. He subconsciously thought there was something wrong with Holly, so he lifted his leg and was ready to go to the church. But Chuck said, ¡°Get ready now; the capture team is coming from the city again¡¡± Before he could finish his words, Chuck was panting heavily. It seemed that he had run quite a bit. ¡°Someone just brought me a letter from Pulis. I don¡¯t know how they did it, but the mayor sent a document to allow them to recruit anyone!¡± Haman was stunned. His first reaction was not that something had happened to Holly. Still, he felt a little nervous because he realized that this capture team must have a more obscure and essential purpose. ¡°If not, how could they have gotten the document from the mayor? ¡°Is it because the person behind them had given enough benefits to the mayor, or is it the mayor behind this? No matter how he thought about it, Haman might have to follow them. Then he turned around and walked out of the pharmacy. He didn¡¯t even take the raincoat that was hanging outside. Chuck asked anxiously, ¡°Where are you going?¡± ¡°I¡¯m going to bring Holly over. Let him stay at the pharmacy for now, at least until I come back,¡± Haman said so that he would have no worries. However, if this group of people thought they could mistreat him in the wilderness, they would be in trouble. Chapter 20 - What Is A Misunderstanding Translator: Langshare Editor: Langshare ¡°Tok,¡± Haman said to the doctor, ¡°Please take care of Holly for me when I¡¯m away.¡± Tok looked at him with a severe expression and said, ¡°Ok, take care of yourself.¡± Haman nodded. ¡°Don¡¯t worry. Maybe they¡¯re all dead, and I¡¯m still fine.¡± Haman just didn¡¯t want to get involved in the mess initially. This was a compulsory lesson to survive in the wilderness. Now that he had become a mutant, and based on his experience of surviving in the wilderness, he wasn¡¯t worried that he wouldn¡¯t be able to return.. Haman didn¡¯t tell Holly that after becoming a mutant, he also longed for a bigger world for some reason in the night. This town was too small. It was so small that Haman could see the end of it from a high vantage point. It was so small that he could hear a widow scolding a hooligan from the west when he was on the east side of the town. He had once wanted to go out and take a look. The only thing he was worried about now was what would happen to Holly¡¯s safety after he left. ¡°It seems that you know what you¡¯re doing. Let Holly stay here. I¡¯ll clean up his house for him.¡± Tok nodded. In the wilderness, Tok felt that none of the people in the town had more experience than Haman. Therefore, seeing that his student was so confident, he didn¡¯t say anything more. Seeing that Tok agreed, Haman took out 20,000 dollars from his pocket. ¡°Tutor, this is the money I saved. It¡¯s for Holly¡¯s accommodation.¡± Looking at Haman in front of him, Tok didn¡¯t insist. He only said, ¡°I¡¯ll take it for you first. I¡¯ll return it to you when you come back.¡± He could not give the money to Holly since he was only a fourteen-year-old child. If he took so much money, there might be some desperate people who would take the risk. But Tok was different. He was a doctor, the only doctor in the entire town. Haman never thought that he could solve all his problems after becoming a mutant. The one-eyed Wolf came to apologize because he still had people following him. And those who had nothing were fearless. ¡°Okay, thank you in advance!¡± Haman said. ¡°You don¡¯t have to let Holly stay in the pharmacy. As long as I¡¯m here, you don¡¯t have to be afraid of.¡± Chuck laughed. ¡°Am I not even on guard against you?¡± Haman rejected Chuck¡¯s suggestion. In this market town, this pharmacy was the safest place other than the church. Chuck was not angry. He knew what kind of person Haman was, so it was expected that Haman would keep an eye on him. Holly did not speak the whole time. He just kept his head down and packed his things up. When everything was packed, Holly asked in a low voice, ¡°Can you not go?¡± ¡°I¡¯ll be back. As long as we take the right path, it¡¯s not dangerous. If it¡¯s hazardous, I¡¯ll run back alone,¡± Haman said. Haman handed the bedding to Holly and held his hand to pinch a corner of the bedding. Holly knew that he had hidden money in it. It was not much, just 200 dollars. But it could ensure that Holly wouldn¡¯t starve to death in a short time. ¡°Bring more dry food. It¡¯s too hard to find food in the wilderness by luck,¡± Holly said. ¡°No, thank you.¡± Haman shook his head. ¡°If I don¡¯t consider the taste and my endurance, it will be easy for me to find food as long as I pass dozens of kilometres around the town.¡± Haman patted Holly¡¯s head and turned to leave. Tok stood beside Holly and comforted, ¡°Don¡¯t worry, he will be fine.¡± Haman finally turned back to look in the direction of the pharmacy after walking far away. At this time, the Galaxy in the sky was vast, and the stars were like a sea. He turned around and walked toward his cave to greet the guests who were about to arrive. ¡ Haman sat in his cave and leaned against the wall. He was resting with his eyes closed and waiting for the arrival of the capture team. However, he didn¡¯t hear the sound of the car until early morning. What was supposed to come would come eventually. Then Haman walked out of the cave and stood at the door. A team of people stood outside. The leader was the short guy. Glancing at them, Haman looked behind the short guy. He found a team of soldiers with guns stood there. This time, there were twenty people, more than the last time. But the strongest among them was the short guy standing at the front. The short guy stood in front of Haman, and he was half a head shorter than Haman. He smiled and said, ¡°You must be Haman.¡± Haman looked at him and thought, ¡°Abba Abba, Wabba.¡± The short Guy: ¡°???¡± The Soldier: ¡°???¡± ¡°Is he seriously mentally sick?¡± ¡°Enough!¡± The short guy smiled and said, ¡°Mental illness cannot become a mutant.¡± ¡°Is that true?¡± This time, Haman had to be confused. He couldn¡¯t pretend anymore. Then the short guy took out a document from his pocket. ¡°This is the mayor¡¡± ¡°Damn.¡± Haman interrupted him. ¡°Our town¡¡± Haman forgot the name of the town. He asked the crowd around him, ¡°What¡¯s our town number?¡± ¡°Number 76!¡± ¡ ¡°Our number 76 town.¡± Haman slowed down a little as if he was not used to it. ¡°We have always been on the same side as Azure Dragon City.¡± ¡°If there¡¯s anything I can help with, I will help!¡± ¡°Everything that happened before was a misunderstanding!¡± ¡°What misunderstanding?¡± Everything that happened before when he couldn¡¯t defeat, it was all a misunderstanding! Looking at Haman, who spoke righteously, the short guy almost laughed out of anger. How could he even say that he would always be on their side since he did not even remember the number of the town? However, it was good that he was willing to go. Hence, he smiled and said, ¡°It¡¯s best when you are willing to go. After all, the mayor has given an order. If you don¡¯t go, I¡¯m afraid that you won¡¯t be able to stay in this town anymore.¡± ¡°I can go,¡± Haman said. ¡°But there are a few conditions.¡± The short man looked at Haman with a smile. He felt that the communication was much smoother now. ¡°Go ahead.¡± If there weren¡¯t any extreme conditions, he could agree. After all, a conscientious guide and a guide who was always messing around would ultimately bring different results. ¡°I want 50,000 dollars as compensation.¡± ¡°No, 20,000.¡± ¡°Okay, then I want another ten bags of salt, ten boxes of cigarettes, 100 kilograms of rice, and¡¡±Haman counted with his fingers. But the short man said calmly, ¡°Stop. I¡¯ll only give you 50,000 dollars.¡± ¡°Okay, but I have other conditions,¡± Haman said. ¡°Can¡¯t you say it all at once?¡± The short guy was impatient. ¡°You were the one who interrupted me just now,¡± Haman said. ¡°I also want a gun, a gun that can kill dragons.¡± Haman had seen guns before. If it weren¡¯t for the fact that they couldn¡¯t kill dinosaurs, Haman would have gotten a weapon long ago. However, he didn¡¯t think that their guns could do much harm to dinosaurs. Otherwise, wouldn¡¯t humans have started to counterattack long ago? This thing was initially invented to deal with humans. ¡°Give it to him,¡± the short man said calmly. A gun was handed to Haman. There was also a backpack full of bullets. At this moment, Haman said, ¡°Actually, I have another condition¡¡± However, the short man had already turned around. When he turned back, the smile on his face turned indifference. ¡°Young man, I¡¯ve lost my patience already.¡± Haman thought to himself, ¡°Why are the people from the city so temperamental since they were still smiling just a moment ago. It is really like the weather in the mountains and a child¡¯s face that changes so quickly. Chapter 21 After the capture team had parked their cars, they were ready to leave. The wilderness outside the town was different from the road from Azure Dragon City to the city. Its road was maintained by the city at a high cost every year. But what about outside the town? Sorry, there was only one group of people fighting for their lives in the town. Did you want to build a road? . They didn¡¯t have the ability. Haman looked at the map in the short leader¡¯s hand. He finally got a glimpse of the outside world. The whole map was centerd around Azure Dragon City. There were two towns around it, scattered in the wilderness. The towns surrounded azure Dragon City, and it was the safest place. No wonder these soldiers with guns didn¡¯t seem to have a strong fighting force, just like two strong adults in this market town. One lived by mining, while the other lived by hunting. Both were unarmed, and their fighting strength was vastly different. It was the result of different environments. When the team left, the refugees who were hiding in their homes came out again. Seeing them walk out of the town, no one said a word. There was no expression on their faces. There was no joy, no sadness. The cruel life had long numbed these people. If they did not want to see these people from the city, they might not even look at them. ¡°Haman, you have bad popularity in the town since not even a single person wants to see you off.¡± The person who spoke was a burly man with a full beard. He had not seen him last time. It should be the workforce that had been replenished after this round of renovations. Just now, while they were chatting, Haman heard his name, Yuri. Haman took out a small notebook. ¡°I will remember these words.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t speak!¡± The short man said. ¡°The market town is not like the city. Every time you go out, you might not be able to return. Why would there be someone to send you off?¡± Haman glanced at the short guy Mankiw and didn¡¯t expect him to say like this. It seemed that he had some understanding of the town. As they were living in the town, no one knew what would happen unexpectedly. Therefore, they usually didn¡¯t invest too much emotion in other people. As soon as they walked out of the town, they entered a withered yellow world. These were the withered grass that was not afraid of acid rain. Even if this withered grass were burnt out, it would grow back to the height of half a person after one week. After experiencing a few times of burnings, the people in the town also gave up. This withered grass looked dead, and there was indeed no moisture in the leaves. As long as they were lightly twisted with their hands, they would be crushed into powder. But no matter what, this withered grass would not disappear. ¡°You, carry these things on your back.¡± The one who spoke was Cole, another man holding a gun. A big backpack was thrown in front of Haman. Haman did not refute. After all, there was no need to argue with a dead person. Ever since he walked out of the outermost fence of the town, Haman¡¯s nerves had become tense. Danger could appear in the wilderness at any time. And among the people in front of him, nearly half of them had relaxed. Presumably, it was because when he was in the town, he was somewhat nervous under the numb gazes of the refugees. Before he left, Haman was still a little reluctant. No matter how wrong this place was, it was still his home all these years. Sometimes life was like this. A little choice would bring about a completely different result. As long as you stepped into a rolling river, there was no way back. ¡°Isn¡¯t he a mutated human? Don¡¯t we lack a person who can fight since he¡¯s carrying so many things on his back?¡± The person who spoke had a black scarf tied to his head. There were severe dark circles around his eyes. His name was Damon. Cole smiled and said, ¡°So what if he¡¯s a mutated human? I¡¯ve already killed countless mutated humans with this gun.¡± Looking at the gun in Cole¡¯s hand, to be honest, Haman didn¡¯t feel any threat. Haman¡¯s experience in the wilderness had trained him to sense whether a person was a threat or not clearly. In this team, only the short man Mankiw could give him some pressure. Other than that, Haman¡¯s danger perception had never appeared. But from Cole¡¯s words, Haman could know some things. First of all, the gun in his hand could indeed hurt mutated humans. Secondly, there should be a lot of mutated humans in the city. ¡°It would be fine if he is just a guide, but if he wants to do something out of line, don¡¯t blame me for shooting him with this gun in my hand!¡± Hearing Cole¡¯s words, Haman felt still calm for some reason. ¡°Are all the soldiers in the city at this level?¡± Haman was a little puzzled. He raised his head and looked at Mankiw. Mankiw seemed to have felt it. He immediately turned around and looked at him. As if he knew what Haman was thinking, he said calmly. ¡°They followed us for a reason.¡± After Mankiw said this, he turned around and continued to walk forward. He did not hide his words at all. Not only Haman, but everyone else heard it. Cole, who was still bragging, instantly quieted down. It was prolonged to walk in the wilderness, especially when these soldiers were not well-mannered. It was already noon; Haman and the others had only walked fifteen kilometres outside of the town. It was not even out of Haman¡¯s usual hunting range. The 20 kilometres away from the town would be even more difficult because it already had few people. Although Haman was carrying a large backpack, it was effortless for him to keep up with the speed of these people. He was even in the mood to wonder what was inside the backpack and why it was so heavy. If Haman had not become a mutated human, it would have been difficult for him to carry it. He reached into his backpack and felt a completely different feeling. It was plastic. Haman had seen a lot of it in the wilderness. There seemed to be bags of plastic in the backpack. Taking out one bag from the backpack, Haman was pleasantly surprised to find a bag of cookies. In market town, cookies were rare. A baked potato was enough for one person. And it only cost six dollars. But one bag of biscuits could also do, but it cost sixty dollars. It was priced but not marketed. Because in the market town other than it was available in the grocery stores. ¡°Alright, there¡¯s going to be a sunburn soon. Find a place to rest,¡± Mankiw said with a cold face. Cole immediately went up to him and asked in a fawning manner, ¡°What about some cigarettes?¡± Mankiw glanced at him. ¡°Ok, one first.¡± Cole came in front of Haman and was about to take something from inside. However, he turned his head and was shocked. ¡°Come on, Haman, what are you doing?¡± Haman looked at Cole. ¡°Don¡¯t be so surprised. I didn¡¯t do anything! BURP!¡± H was a little stuffed; Haman patted his stomach and stretched his body. He then stuffed the cookie in his hand into his shirt. Chapter 22 Cole quickly picked up Haman¡¯s backpack on the ground. He opened it and looked inside. His heart ached at that moment. ¡°Have you been hungry for a month without eating? How can you eat so much? You¡¯ve finished six bags of biscuits in one morning?¡± To be honest, Haman had not eaten so much in a long time. In the past, when he was the poorest, he and Holly could only eat until they were barely not hungry. It hadn¡¯t been long since they became rich. It was one or two months ago. Haman hadn¡¯t had time to enjoy it.. She was eating while walking was an essential skill that Haman had learned a long time ago. If necessary, he could even finish a meal while running. Moreover, the biscuits these people brought were delicious. Some were sweet, and some were salty. The biscuits that appeared in the market town were bland and tasteless. Most of the people bought them because they could be stored for a long time. And salt and sugar were luxuries in the market town. Usually, Haman and the others would only eat those like boiled potatoes. If there were no salt, they would find a few stones from outside, put them into a pot, and cook them together with the potatoes. How could they get such delicious food? There was also some salty water in the backpack, which was quite thirst-quenching. ¡°Look at how full your stomach is.¡± Cole roared, ¡°Are you pregnant? Won¡¯t you feel uncomfortable?¡± But Haman said unhappily, ¡°Didn¡¯t you ask me to carry this bag? But now that you say it, I feel a little uncomfortable!¡± Haman then ran into the distance, ¡°You guys can enjoy the food first. I¡¯ll go take a shit and come back.¡± After Haman ran far away, only Cole and the others were left confused there. Yuri hesitated for a moment and said, ¡°Don¡¯t let him carry the bag.¡± But Cole glared, ¡°Why should we let him feel good? Although he has become a mutant now, he is still a refugee!¡± Yuri spread his hands and tilted his head. ¡°If we let this kid carry the bag for a few more days, I¡¯m afraid we won¡¯t be able to reach Mount Roman!¡± When Cole heard this, he roughly estimated Haman¡¯s appetite and sighed. ¡°It does seem to be a bit insufficient.¡± In the end, everyone agreed to divide the bag into several portions and let the three of them carry them together. One of them was Cole. Haman didn¡¯t run all the way there to take a shit, at least not all of them. Even a person like Haman couldn¡¯t eat six packets of biscuits in one morning. He had only eaten two packets and was already extremely full. Haman planned to hide the remaining four packets and bring them to Holly and Tok when he returned. When Haman returned, he was unhappy when he heard that he couldn¡¯t carry the bag. ¡°I¡¯m willing to carry it. Why should I not work? I¡¯m just a guide. I don¡¯t need to fight.¡± ¡°Who not?¡± ¡°Let me go, and I want to be with my food!¡± However, no matter what, they did not dare to let him carry anything. Now it was about food. It was not a big problem when Haman finished six packets of biscuits. Anyway, there was enough food left. But once something else was damaged, it might be a waste of time. Cole and the others didn¡¯t like Haman for a reason. They were the ¡°Big shots¡± in the city. But they couldn¡¯t even find a guide in the town. In their opinion, shouldn¡¯t Haman be like the first guide and taking the initiative to help them? Even if Haman had become a mutant, he was still a refugee. Even if he entered the city, there was a difference between a refugee and a city dweller. Many people hoped that they could have an extraordinary relationship in the city because Chuck was right. When the big shots in the city gave them casually, the refugees would live very well in the market town. Like this biscuit, Haman was already a person who had a good life in the market town. When he first ate this biscuit, he felt that it was a delicacy on Earth. However, these were outcasts. When they ate these biscuits, they did not have any reaction. It was as if this was their regular dry food. However, Haman¡¯s reaction was to avoid them. As a result, everyone¡¯s impression of Haman was not very good. After this incident, it was even worse. Especially Cole. He had started to persuade Mankiw to return to the market town to find a new guide. ¡°Captain, we¡¯ve only left for half a day,¡± Cole said. ¡°It¡¯s completely possible to return to the town now. It¡¯s just a waste of a day.¡± Hearing that, Haman did not react at all. The happiest person was Haman if they could find a new guide. He didn¡¯t want to come out in the first place. It was just that the mayor had written a letter, and he had no choice. Mankiw was quietly eating the biscuits and drinking the light brine. He didn¡¯t even look at Cole. Although after Haman became a mutant, Chuck¡¯s attitude had changed completely. Before that, Chuck hadn¡¯t said that only Haman could take them to Mount Roman. And according to Mankiw¡¯s information. The previous guide was already the best one apart from Haman. But the best guide was just like that. He wasn¡¯t even able to find the way and was crushed by the dinosaurs. ¡°Captain, think about it. This kid is so unreliable now.¡± Cole didn¡¯t stop trying to persuade him. ¡°Maybe he¡¯ll be even more unreliable in the future.¡± ¡°I¡¯ve long heard that the refugees in the market town have low moral standards. I didn¡¯t expect it to be so low!¡± ¡°Shut up!¡± Mankiw finished his biscuit and criticized, ¡°If you don¡¯t want to go, you can go back by yourself.¡± Cole didn¡¯t speak anymore. However, Cole had been arranging staffing and issuing orders along the way. But in reality, he knew in his heart that the most critical person along the way was Mankiw. Although the guns in their hands could hurt dinosaurs, they were not the only danger in the wilderness. Looking at the Red Sun in the sky, the temperature outside the cave was estimated to have reached 60 degrees. If they returned from here now, as long as they were slightly lost for a while, they would probably never be able to return to the market town. Since Mankiw disagreed, he could only endure it no matter what Cole thought. After the sun left, the temperature outside rapidly dropped. The team started to set out again. This time, Haman only carried a gun on his back. He walked quickly in the middle of the team. Cole walked beside Haman. His backpack was almost the amount as Haman¡¯s in the morning. Mankiw walked to the front of the team. He was at least ten meters away from Haman. If Haman wanted to cause trouble, it would only take two seconds when there¡¯re two or three people at most left in the team. That was why these city people didn¡¯t know anything about life in the market town. They only knew that it was bitter and dirty. Their knowledge was limited here. Without experiencing this life, they would never understand. They would never know what the refugees would do when they had the chance. If Mankiw were eliminated, Haman¡¯s first choice would be to kill everyone in the team and return to the market town. Not just Haman, but anyone in the town would do the same with his power. Chapter 23 Cole, who was next to Haman, glanced at him and said arrogantly, ¡°You¡¯d better behave yourself and don¡¯t do anything unnecessary.¡± After listening for so long, Haman was a little unhappy. ¡°I only ate a few packets of biscuits from you. Is it coming to that?¡± Cole raised his voice. ¡°Is that a little? That¡¯s a whole six packets!¡± ¡°Let me tell you, and we have the mayor¡¯s documents. When you come out with us, you have to listen to me, understand? Don¡¯t find any trouble for yourself!¡± Yuri, who was beside him, smiled and said, ¡°Have you ever seen an egg? Do you know what an egg looks like when it hits a stone?¡± Haman thought for a moment.. ¡°It will be beaten to death.¡± Yuri was stunned. ¡°What?¡± Haman replied, ¡°The hen¡¯s owner will kill them!¡± In the market town, if they wasted food, they would be disgraced by everyone. If they wasted other people¡¯s food, they would be in trouble. Haman was quite satisfied with his answer. In his wit, he also revealed such a profound reality. That night, the team successfully walked 20 kilometres out of the market town. They had been messing around in the afternoon, and no one dared to do so in the wilderness. It was because the 15-kilometre area near the town had been burned several times. And only a few people had been to the 15-kilometre area. On the way, Haman had relied on his own experience to avoid most of the dangers. But even so, Mankiw still made a move once. The sound of firing was too loud. As long as you did not want to die in this kind of place, you must not fire. It was an adult velociraptor. It was more than four meters long with extremely thick scales on its body. But Mankiw only shook his body and transformed into a six-meter-long dinosaur. Haman had not seen this kind of dinosaur in the dinosaur illustrated manual, so he could not recognize what kind of dinosaur it was. But judging from its ferocious appearance, its fighting strength was not weak. ¡ That night, the team successfully arrived at a mountain ridge. Standing on top of the mountain ridge, they found that there was a large forest behind them. Haman was lost in thought as he looked at this boundless green. Other than the dream, this forest was the only green. The trees were tall and straight here, and only the almost imperceptible muddy path could prove that humans had been here before. When the capture team first came here, they had lost their way. Haman had once heard from the priest that there was a place called the rainforest. The trees there were so dense that it was difficult for people to pass through. But the forest here was not so lush. It was relatively sparse. Only the grass on the ground grew higher. Although the grass here was still withered yellow, there was some moisture in the grass. When the night was about to fall, they finally arrived at the open space where the last capture team had come. Cole laughed loudly and said, ¡°We¡¯ll make camp here today. Everyone, quick rest and eat something!¡± As soon as he finished speaking, Haman walked towards the backpack. Looking at Haman, who was sitting beside the fire and bingeing, Cole whispered, ¡°That¡¯s why you are a refugee. You even consider a biscuit as a treasure.¡± Although he said it in a low voice, his volume was not small at all. Everyone in the camp could hear him. Haman took another note in the little notebook in his heart. But he still had to eat the biscuit. After all, it was his loss not to eat it. Moreover, Haman was indeed inexperienced. This biscuit was already one of the best things he had ever eaten. It seemed like Haman had secretly eaten the biscuit that Cole was very dissatisfied with him. But in fact, Haman had long understood that whether he ate the biscuit or not, Cole¡¯s attitude towards him would be equally bad. Therefore, Haman felt a little doubtful in his heart when the team still provided him with food. He did not expect them to fall out with him like this. It was also good, and Haman felt much more relaxed. This way, he did not have to worry about anything. He was mentally prepared for the current situation. ¡°Catch.¡± Mankiw tossed over a small plastic bag. Haman caught it and looked at it. There was chocolate written on it. Haman had never seen this thing before. However, this did not affect his judgment of its use. This thing was obviously for eating. Then he tore open the package and took a small bite. On the one hand, he wanted to know the taste, and on the other hand, it was also for testing the poison. Any poison that was not related to the dose was meaningless. As long as Haman didn¡¯t overeat, no matter what poison it was, it wouldn¡¯t be able to poison him to death. It was also something that he had learned from the priest. When the chocolate entered his mouth, it showed a rich aroma. Haman could tell that it was the aroma of the oil. Moreover, the taste was quite good, first bitter, then sweet. However, he did not continue eating. Instead, he placed the chocolate in front of his chest. Haman would have to wait at least a day until there was no reaction from the poison. Only then would he continue eating the remaining chocolate. ¡°Don¡¯t put it on your body, and it will melt.¡± Mankiw did not look over and said calmly, ¡°If you like it, I¡¯ll give you a few more pieces when we go back.¡± Haman looked at Mankiw. In the entire team, only Mankiw didn¡¯t show any disgust toward him. As for the others, they always looked high and mighty. It was a kind of contempt from the bottom of their hearts. Even Haman felt that these people didn¡¯t respect him at all. But Mankiw was different. Although he didn¡¯t show any good feelings toward Haman, he didn¡¯t show any rejection. After thinking for a while, he could not figure out why Mankiw treated him differently. Then he gave up thinking about this question. He knew too little information and could not think of anything. After eating and drinking, Haman walked out of the camp. ¡°Wait, what are you going to do? If you leave now, there will be no place for you in the area of Azure Dragon City!¡± Seeing Haman walking out, Cole panicked. If Haman had left, they would have wasted their time again today. Without a guide, they couldn¡¯t pass through this forest and find the way to Mount Roman. Haman had to admit that he sometimes admired these people. There was at least two days¡¯ journey from here to Mount Roman. Fortunately, that group of people got lost early last time and could still find their way. If they went deep into this forest, no one would be able to leave. It was not a matter of waste of a day. These big shots, which were used to a safe life in the city, did not realize it at all. Who was the owner of this wilderness? Of course, Haman could understand that people had a habitual mindset. Just like Haman, he thought that anyone as a city resident must be wealthy. It was typical since the city residents despised the refugees long ago. Haman looked back and grinned. ¡°I¡¯m going to take a shit. Do you want to come?¡± Chapter 24 Cole was a little embarrassed and forced himself to change the topic. ¡°Go, go, go. Stay away from here. Don¡¯t attract wild beasts.¡± The last time when the guide had brought them here, they had taken the wrong path. As a result, they had walked forward for a few days. Everyone felt that the direction was wrong, so they turned back and prepared to set off from here again. However, that morning, when the guide was about to set off, he was crushed by the dinosaurs. . ¡ After Haman set up his tent, he was ready to go to sleep. The first half of the night was the best time to sleep. Because these people would not sleep so soundly. It might be impossible to be so in the second half of the night. Before going to sleep, Yuri dug a pit outside the camp and buried the food scraps and garbage that they had finished. Initially, they should have sprinkled a circle of Tyrannosaurus Rex faeces to block the dinosaurs. But it didn¡¯t work after they tried last time. It would be fine if they were small and wild animals since they would be scared away by the smell of Tyrannosaurus rex faeces. But Big Dinosaurs weren¡¯t like that. But the problem was that there were too many enormous dinosaurs in the wilderness. That night, they didn¡¯t do anything but kept running all the time. Fortunately, more herbivores were around, so they didn¡¯t have such a strong desire to attack. Compared to Mankiw¡¯s cautiousness, Haman looked at the rest of the team, and they seemed to be a little less vigilant. They didn¡¯t even arrange for anyone to come out to keep watch. They were snoring in the tents, and it is evident that they were all dead asleep. It was true that this place was in a good position. Usually, there wouldn¡¯t be any giant beasts coming over. But they were too relaxed. Mankiw¡¯s breathing was long and thin. He was not in a deep sleep. Haman felt that he should be cautious because he had seen too many people stabbed to death in the night. But Mankiw could keep such vigilance. A person¡¯s past experiences determined his current thinking and habits. Mankiw must have experienced all kinds of dangerous situations. When it was bright before anyone else got up. Haman checked out where Yuri buried the food residue yesterday. The food bags that had been buried in the ground had been turned over. And the food residue had disappeared entirely. Last night Haman saw Yuri buried the food scraps. He just wanted to see if any of the beasts were attracted. Many people were afraid of wild animals because they thought they were too fierce to be scared of humans. But in fact, most of the wild animals were very alert, and ordinary wild animals would not come when they saw so many tents. Haman found in recent years in his hunting that wild animals, including dinosaurs, were gradually becoming brighter like the smaller dinosaurs. In the beginning, whenever they saw Haman, they would rush up. But now, Haman had to be careful to hide his tracks. Otherwise, he would attack the dinosaurs he couldn¡¯t deal with. And the smaller dinosaurs would scent and leave when they smelled the human. Haman carefully approached the area. He kept an eye out for any signs of animals. However, he did not find anything. However, when he arrived there, he suddenly realized that there were no footprints of wild beasts. Haman was holding a bone knife. He was not used to using the gun on his back, so he could only have the knife and stay alert. He was on guard as he carefully recreated. ¡°Could it be that the ants took away the food?¡± It was possible. In recent years, the ants had become bigger and bigger, and they were almost the size of Haman¡¯s finger. If there were an ant nest nearby, it would be easy to clean it up overnight. But Haman still had doubts in his heart. When they returned to the camp, everyone was ready to pack up and set off. Everyone was folding their tents and stuffing them into their backpacks. Cole complained to Mankiw, ¡°Captain, you shouldn¡¯t have given him chocolate. How could a refugee deserve to eat such a thing?¡± The team set off. This time, they followed Haman¡¯s instructions and finally began to go deep into the forest. The sunlight from the sky shone through the leaves. The entire forest seemed to be shining with a golden light. Everyone laughed and talked as if they were not in the dangerous wilderness but on a field trip. The rivers in the forest were not polluted by acid rain. So the rivers in the forest were the most dangerous places. Any powerful predator could be near the river waiting for prey. Haman said to the people in front of him, ¡°Try to stay away from the river.¡± However, Cole didn¡¯t think much of it. ¡°There are so many of us. Is there a need to be so afraid?¡± Haman had long noticed that among this group of people, apart from captain Mankiw. The others weren¡¯t from the last time they came. Perhaps those people were scared out of their wits. The most important thing was that although he had been careful along the way. It had already been an entire day, and he hadn¡¯t encountered any danger. It was unreasonable. ¡°Wait!¡± Haman suddenly had a cold sweat on his back. There was only one situation in this wilderness full of wild beasts where you wouldn¡¯t encounter danger. That was, there was an even greater danger staring at you! Haman didn¡¯t speak anymore, and he was silently vigilant. He had only made his own decision. If danger came, he had to get rid of these idiots and quickly get out of trouble. At this time, Yuri was tripped by a tree root and hit the tree in front of the team. ¡°Be careful,¡± Cole warned. However, Yuri didn¡¯t get up. Instead, he lay there twitching. Everyone knew that something had happened. Haman looked at Yuri. There was a massive bump on his neck. Yuri was twitching on the face as if he was experiencing a great pain that he had never had in his life. In just over ten seconds, Yuri was already lying on the ground without moving before everyone could react. White foam came out of his mouth, and his face turned from red to purple. Cole carefully held the gun and leaned over after he found that there was no unusual movement. He then stretched out his hand to check Yuri¡¯s breath. He turned his head and said solemnly, ¡°He¡¯s died.¡± Everyone was stunned on the spot. ¡°He was just fine a moment ago. How could he die?¡± Mankiw turned around and asked Cole, ¡°What Happened?¡± Cole stood at the side, holding the gun in his hand tightly. He seemed to give him a sense of security as he said with a trembling voice. ¡°I don¡¯t know either. Yuri was walking beside me just now, but he suddenly tripped on a branch and hit the tree. Then he stopped moving. I didn¡¯t see anything strange either.¡± The wind blew the leaves, making rustling sounds. The trees were still the same, but everyone¡¯s mood was different. It was the first person who died on their journey. Cole roared at Haman, ¡°Come on, is there any problem with your road??¡± ¡°My road is ok.¡± Haman looked at Cole calmly. ¡°But you should understand that this is a wilderness, not a game.¡± ¡°And this wilderness is getting more and more dangerous. I¡¯m not sure why you have to go to Mount Roman, but I only have one suggestion, get back immediately!¡± Chapter 25 Mankiw¡¯s voice was colder than usual. ¡°Impossible. It is an inviolable order. We must go to Mount Roman.¡± ¡°If we can¡¯t complete the mission, we cannot go back. The same goes for you!¡± Haman didn¡¯t say anything, but he couldn¡¯t believe everything he said. It was just a mission. It wasn¡¯t worth risking his life for. There must be other reasons. . Haman had seen many such things in the market town. There was a time when the mine was hazardous. It would collapse every few days. If they did not work, they would starve to death. But if they worked, they would die in the mine. During that time, almost no one went to the mine. Even the refugees knew that as long as they did not die, there would be a future. After all, less than one-tenth of those who didn¡¯t go to the mine starved to death. People had great potential. They could always struggle to live unexpectedly. Seeing that there was no way to turn back, Cole said to Haman, ¡°Put Yuri¡¯s backpack on and go to the front.¡± ¡°Since you said you didn¡¯t lead the wrong way, then you should face the danger.¡± At this time, Cole couldn¡¯t care about Haman stealing the biscuits. After all, no one wanted to die. And compared to eating some biscuits, life and death were more important. Haman ignored him and walked over to check Yuri¡¯s injury. He used the bone knife to cut the bag on Yuri¡¯s neck and found a stinger inside. Haman was familiar with this stinger because it was an ordinary wasp stinger. But the stinger was too big. It was as long as his finger. Proportionately, the wasp that had poisoned Yuri should have been as long as Haman¡¯s forearm. But that was the problem. Haman hadn¡¯t been paying attention to Yuri, but a wasp as big as this couldn¡¯t fly around without being noticed. With his back to the group, Haman swept the stinger to the ground. Because he didn¡¯t want others to know how Yuri died, the atmosphere in the group became more and more strange. Sometimes, it was more beneficial to make the group fear the wilderness. At least, they wouldn¡¯t take the wilderness lightly like in the beginning. Haman never thought of himself as a good person, and he had no obligation to tell everyone everything. His survival was the most important. Then he carefully checked the backpack and made sure there were no remaining poisonous insects on it before he put it on. According to his deduction, the wasps should have hidden inside the tree trunk, and Yuri had hit the tree trunk. The wasps were so anxious that they stuck their stinger into Yuri¡¯s neck. But they didn¡¯t expect the wasps¡¯ stinger to be so deadly now! Was it the swelling of his neck that made him unable to breathe? No, no, no, no, no! If it were suffocation, he wouldn¡¯t have died in more than ten seconds. Moreover, Yuri¡¯s face was still blue and purple. Now it seemed that it could only be the problem of bee venom. Haman had been stung by Hornets before, but his head was only swollen two times. Of course, it was only a hornet the size of a pinky finger. There were more and more dangerous things in the wilderness. Sometimes, Haman felt conflicted. On the one hand, he wanted to know the secrets of the wilderness. On the other hand, he knew that curiosity was a fatal mistake in nature. The shadow of death shrouded the entire team, while Haman was the easiest person. Cole looked at Yuri¡¯s wound and could only see that a poisonous bug had caused it. However, there was no trace of that poisonous bug. No one saw it at all, which was the scariest thing. It was not scary to find a bug at home, but the most difficult thing was that the bug disappeared in the blink of an eye. Mankiw also came to check Yuri¡¯s wound, and he also frowned. Only Haman knew that Yuri had only been stung by a hornet. ¡°What about Yuri¡¯s body? We can¡¯t just leave him in the wilderness, can we?¡± Someone asked. ¡°Then what should we do?¡± Cole had intended to leave Yuri here. It would take time to bury him, but he didn¡¯t want to stay in this damn place for even a second longer. However, Mankiw said, ¡°Cole, carry Yuri and leave this place first. We¡¯ll find a suitable place to bury him.¡± As the team leader, if Mankiw said he would leave Yuri here, it would destabilise the team. Who would be willing to be left in the wilderness after death? When that time came, the originally lousy team would instantly become scattered. When Cole heard Mankiw¡¯s words, he could only helplessly carry Yuri¡¯s body. Haman was eating cookies as he walked, but he was always paying attention to his surroundings. He was trying to maintain his strength and start running away at any time. Fortunately, they were so lucky again. They walked to a barren mountain without any danger. They really couldn¡¯t find any suitable place to camp, so they could only manage on the barren mountain in the evening. Fortunately, although there were more poisonous insects in this place, there were no large beasts. Moreover, the field of vision was vast, so there was no need to worry about a sudden attack. There was a large amount of insect repellent in the backpack. They sprinkled around the camp, and many insects escaped from the barren mountain like a wave. No one was in the mood to brag today, and they were all silent. The following day, Haman did not look for food. After all, he had been eating biscuits slowly but continuously since noon yesterday. This time, he finished six-packs. He was indeed a little stuffed. But now, if he started to flee, Haman was confident that he would not eat or sleep for two days and two nights until it was safe. At that moment, Haman heard a scream. He suddenly turned around and looked. It was the place where Yuri¡¯s body was placed yesterday. A soldier shouted, ¡°Where is Yuri¡¯s body? Who saw his body?¡± Cole said in shock, ¡°Wasn¡¯t it placed there?¡± ¡°The body is gone!¡± This time, even Haman felt numb on his scalp. ¡°What is going on? The body was left in the camp. How could it be gone?¡± Yuri was a tall man. Haman estimated his weight to be nearly 90 kilograms. If a beast or dinosaur dragged the body away, it couldn¡¯t leave any traces and not make any noise. There were so many people present. Someone was even arranged to keep watch yesterday. How could they not hear anything? Moreover, Haman had not entered a deep sleep this time, so he would be able to hear the slightest movement. At this moment, he recalled the food residue that they had lost the night before. At that time, he suspected that it was the ants that had taken it away, but this time, it could not be the ants, right? No matter how much the ant evolved, it could not carry away such a giant corpse without making any movements! This time, the terrifying atmosphere completely enveloped everyone¡¯s heads. ¡°Captain, why don¡¯t we go back?¡± Cole looked on the verge of collapse. ¡°Cole, you also know that if we can¡¯t complete this mission, we can only become refugees, so let¡¯s continue!¡± Mankiw comforted him. Haman was also a little confused. He did not expect that after they entered the wilderness two days later. The most significant danger was not the dinosaurs? Chapter 26 Where was Yuri¡¯s body, and why did the body disappear for no reason? These two questions now hung over the entire capture team like a fog. Haman had been thinking about this question. If the killer could make such a large body disappear for no reason, why didn¡¯t it attack the living? And was this the same thing that made the bodies disappear, that stole the food scraps, and that kept Haman and the others from meeting any danger from the beginning or not? When they first entered the forest, everyone was still talking and laughing. Some people were even singing loudly, treating this operation as an outing. But now, not only did everyone speed up their journey. . They also tried their best to avoid things that might cause danger. They just wanted to get out of the forest as soon as possible. Looking at the swaying shadows around them, it seemed that there might be killing hidden in the leaves. It had to be said that even Haman was a little afraid now. But what could they do? He might eat some biscuits to calm down. Whenever Haman thought of a guess that might scare him, he would eat a biscuit to calm down. Today¡¯s situation was getting more and more strange. Yesterday, except for Yuri¡¯s death because of the Hornets, there was no danger at all. Except for Haman, no one noticed anything wrong at all. But today, everyone noticed that something was strange. Because today, the capture team didn¡¯t encounter any danger at all. Haman glanced at the Sun. It should be eleven o¡¯clock now. It had been five hours since they had set off in the morning. But up until now, even wild beasts had not been seen, not to mention dinosaurs. The originally noisy forest had now even disappeared with the sound of insects. Apart from the sound of the arresting party¡¯s feet breaking those dead branches, there was no more sound in the whole wood. Finally, Cole somewhat broke down under this strange silence. ¡°Haman, you must know what¡¯s going on, right?¡± Cole roared at Haman, wanting to pounce on him. But he still stopped because Haman had already pulled out the bone knife before he could make a move. Haman smiled disdainfully. ¡°No, since yesterday, we¡¯ve been targeted.¡± Once these words were said, even Mankiw could not remain calm. ¡°We¡¯ve been targeted?¡± Mankiw was a little shocked. ¡°When did this happen? Is it the thing that stole the corpse?¡± Mankiw¡¯s question made Haman think highly of him. At least he did not say anything about this being impossible. If he were too confident in himself, he would not live long in this wilderness. ¡°I don¡¯t know when,¡± Haman shook his head and stuffed the biscuit bag in his hand into his backpack. ¡°I don¡¯t know anything.¡± ¡°Then what do you know?¡± Cole roared. ¡°If you don¡¯t know anything, what¡¯s the use of having you as a guide?¡± Haman did not lie to them. Up until now, he did not know what exactly was following them. But what could be confirmed was that there must be a terrifying creature tracking them, but they did not know what it was. If nothing was tracking them, they might have even seen a wild beast until now. ¡°I understand.¡± Mankiw didn¡¯t say much after listening. He took a deep breath and said, ¡°Then what should we do now?¡± ¡°Keep walking. You won¡¯t go back anyway. Can¡¯t you just keep walking?¡± Haman said. As soon as he said this, Cole¡¯s face turned red with anger. ¡°Do Nothing?¡± Cole would have pounced on them if he didn¡¯t have some rationality. ¡°Are we just going to wait for that thing to kill us?¡± He casually chewed the biscuit in his mouth. The biscuits that he thought delicious at the beginning were now tasteless. Even the most delicious food would be like this, not to mention that Haman was not hungry at all. But just in case, he continued to eat. ¡°So?¡± Haman said, ¡°It¡¯s already the best-case scenario since it hasn¡¯t attacked yet. If we turn back now, we¡¯re most likely to be killed.¡± ¡°This area is already one of the Velociraptor¡¯s habitats, but we haven¡¯t seen a velociraptor up to now.¡± Haman¡¯s words were like the sun shining through the night that instantly woke up the capture team. That¡¯s right, none of the capture teams could survive when they were facing a group of Velociraptors. But now, that creature is hidden in the dark made all the Velociraptors retreat without appearing. What kind of deterrence was this! After Kerr¡¯s previous words, everyone was somewhat oppressed. It was then that everyone realized that it was still helpful to have an experienced guide in the team. At this time, everyone suddenly began to have some recognition of Haman¡¯s value amidst their fear. At least now everyone knew what they should do. Like the person in charge of the mine, he would not hurry to produce until the target time. He would still eat, drink, and not care about anything else. But when it was time to hand over the ore, he would be like a mad dog. Then he would make the miners work overtime until the task was completed. Perhaps, only death was the first motivation for people. Just like today, it was impossible to walk out of this forest according to the original plan. But now, Haman looked at the sun. It was only six o¡¯clock in the afternoon. It was the edge of the forest in front of them. The capture team was scared and wanted to fly out of the forest. They had only walked six kilometres in the forest yesterday. It was not that the capture team was lazy, but it was not easy to walk. Every kilometre in the forest would bring countless troubles. Whether it was the vines blocking the road, the direction lost, or the scattered wild beasts, they all seriously hindered the team¡¯s speed. But today, the capture team had become a whole, and they took turns to open the way, and there were no small wild beasts. And they were even forcefully withstood the midday sun because they were in the forest. Even when they ate, they ate while walking. Everything they did was to get out of this forest as soon as possible. Fortunately, they did it. And they saw the edge of the forest in front. When they walked out of the forest, the familiar scene was still in front of them. They did not see the withered yellow grassland at the edge but saw a rolling barren mountain not far to the right. Looking at the scene in front of them, Haman sighed in his heart. ¡°The grass here has also become like this!¡± Initially, after passing through this forest, the colour of the grass would become as green as the dream. But now, the grass here had also become wilted yellow. ¡°Now!¡± Haman turned his head and said to the capture team. ¡°You have two choices. One is to go through the habitat of the parasaurolophus or go through the tunnel over there.¡± Haman pointed to the barren hill on the right. Chapter 27 ¡°The distance between the tunnels is longer, but it¡¯s safer. The parasaurolophus¡¯ habitat is closer, but it¡¯s easy to alert the big guys.¡± Haman stood in the front and introduced the pros and cons of the two routes to the capture team. If Haman had to choose, it would be the tunnels. There were many kinds of creatures in the wilderness. But most of these creatures followed a principle. . The bigger they were, the stronger they were. The tunnel in the mountain seemed to have been left behind before the cataclysm. Although it was full of moss and many poisonous insects hid there. Haman was now a mutant. These poisonous insects posed no threat to him. Only enormous dinosaurs could threaten him. The tunnel was not too big. It was only six meters tall and twelve meters wide. This size meant that only four meters tall dinosaurs could enter. Because the dinosaurs were taller than four meters, they would not run in the tunnel. And Haman could quickly get rid of those giant monsters. It was a difficult decision for everyone. Before Mankiw said something, they began to argue. Cole insisted on going through the tunnel because it was safer. As for speed, they just had to walk faster. But Harold insisted on going in the parasaurolophus¡¯s direction because he wanted to see if the creature chasing them could scare it away. Parasaurolophus was a grade C dinosaur. It could reach more than 10 meters in length. It was the most influential group of grade C dinosaurs. If the pursuers could scare away the parasaurolophus, then tomorrow would be a smooth journey. If they couldn¡¯t scare away the parasaurolophus, then it proved that the pursuers behind them were not so strong. Logically speaking, Harold¡¯s suggestion was excellent. Haman had done the same thing before when he was in danger. He had used another danger to hedge against the first one. But Cole was too scared to think about it. After a few days of observation, Haman found that Cole¡¯s physical fitness ranked in the top five of the group. But Harold¡¯s physical fitness was basically at the bottom. It was clear that a person¡¯s willpower was not directly proportional to his physical fitness. Fortunately, Haman did not need them to answer now. Because now, it was only two hours before nightfall, they had to find a place to set up tents. Although some people did not even want to set up tents, they were afraid that they would affect their escape speed. But under Mankiw¡¯s orders, everyone began to act. The wilderness was a completely different world during the day and at night. The highest temperature during the day could reach more than 60 degrees Celsius. But at night, it would quickly drop to around zero degrees Celsius. If there were no tents to shelter them from the wind, it would only take one night. And they could freeze to death. Even if they were not frozen to death, they would not be able to complete the long journey every day as long as they were sick. They made a bonfire. Everyone sat around the bonfire. However, the team members did not dare to go far when they were collecting firewood. They did not dare to walk into the forest again, but they managed to collect quite a lot of firewood with their joint efforts. It seemed that the bigger the fire, the safer they felt in their hearts. This time, everyone sat around the bonfire. ¡°Why does he sit here?¡± Cole said unhappily. ¡°How can we sit with a refugee? Haman, sit back a little.¡± No one refuted Cole because they did not need to offend a person like Cole because of a refugee. They did need a guide now, but in Cole¡¯s opinion, Haman could just sit back and answer whatever they asked. However, at this time, Mankiw said, ¡°Don¡¯t talk about these things anymore. We need to discuss the question of whether to stay or go seriously.¡± Previously, Mankiw had insisted on going to Mount Roman because he had received a death order before he came if he could not complete the mission. He would be a refugee from then on. But now, he also had the intention to retreat, just like the miners in the mines. If he did not work, he might starve to death. If he worked, he would be buried alive. The situation now was that even if he became a refugee, it might be better than dying here. Everyone held their guns tightly as if this was the source of their sense of security. But Haman and Mankiw didn¡¯t. But they knew that the guns in their hands could not bring them a sense of security. Because the problem they were facing now was not something that guns could solve. Seeing that everyone had quieted down, Mankiw said, ¡°Now we are faced with a dilemma.¡± ¡°On one hand, we have to continue forward. Whether it is because of the pursuer in the dark or the road ahead, they are both extremely dangerous.¡± ¡°To be honest, even I don¡¯t have the confidence to survive. There are many creatures in the wilderness that are much stronger than me.¡± Mankiw paused and continued. ¡°On the other hand, even if we turn back, there are hidden dangers. Why didn¡¯t the pursuers behind us show up?¡± ¡°Yuri¡¯s mysterious death and the mysterious disappearance of his body are all mysteries, so it is not safe either to turn back.¡± When he said this, everyone¡¯s faces became pale. But Haman understood the meaning behind Mankiw¡¯s words. He did not want to go back at all! Mankiw told everyone the dangers of going forward and returning, clearly telling everyone that there would be a danger no matter how they went. If they advanced, they would be rewarded if they completed the mission. But if they retreated, they would become refugees regardless of whether they would die in the wilderness or not. From Cole¡¯s observation of Haman, Haman knew that these people would not choose to return. Becoming a refugee was a punishment that was second only to death. As expected, someone spoke. It was Harold. ¡°Come on, and we¡¯ll die if we advance. We¡¯ll also die if we retreat. It¡¯s better to take a risk. If we succeed, we¡¯ll be rich and powerful. If we fail, we¡¯ll all be finished.¡± Harold looked fierce, and his veins were exposed. It was as if he had been driven mad by the situation before him. Seeing Harold¡¯s performance, Haman thought to himself. ¡°I couldn¡¯t tell, Harold, you thick-browed, big-eyed man, that you are someone who has the same idea as Mankiw.¡± When the team had just set off, Haman had noticed something. This team was not well organized. Mankiw was the most forceful person on the entire team. The others were probably sent here to complete the mission because they had offended the big shots in the city. He didn¡¯t expect Harold to be in cahoots with Mankiw. Before this, they hadn¡¯t communicated with each other at all. Even Haman didn¡¯t see anything wrong with them. At this moment, the wind over the hill stopped. The noise disappeared, and the untouched wilderness became quiet. However, in this silence, everyone heard the sound of chewing coming from the place where the backpack was stacked. Everyone was in a great fright. Cole¡¯s voice trembled as he said, ¡°What is it?¡± Everyone looked over in horror, not understanding where the sound came from since there were only supplies in the backpack. Chapter 28 Harold¡¯s face darkened with fear. ¡°I don¡¯t believe that anything can stop a dragon-slaying bullet.¡± As he spoke, Harold gestured for someone to slowly approach it. The chewing sound should have lasted for a while. Because the wind was too loud, so they didn¡¯t hear it. Haman also stood up. After becoming a mutant, Haman had gained so much in his physical fitness. As a result, he only wore a thin coat at night in the wilderness and didn¡¯t feel too cold. . He held the machete in his hand and turned to look and found that Mankiw also put his hand on the gun he carried with him. Harold and the others were slowly approaching, but suddenly, a shadow jumped out from the pile of backpacks. Cole and the others did not have time to think before shooting. This was the first time Haman had seen a gun fired. Perhaps it was because of his enhanced physical fitness. This time, he even saw the movement of the bullet after it was fired. The bullet was engraved with these shallow lines and kept spinning in the air. It was emitting a faint red light. Seeing this red light, Haman knew that this bullet was the same as the dragon-slaying spike. It could break through the defence of dinosaurs. But he had a strange feeling that the bullet in front of him was not fast. Perhaps it would be difficult for Haman to dodge after he was targeted. Still, before Harold and the others fired, he would be able to make sure that the bullet did not shoot him. When the Black Shadow was suddenly hit by fierce gunfire in the air, it was sent flying backwards by a few bullets. After hitting the rocks behind, Cole and the others continued to fire without thinking. As the sound of an empty chamber sounded, the group of people had finished all the bullets. Not to mention the black shadow. Even the rocks behind it were severely hit. Harold slowly approached and was ready to check on the black shadow that had jumped out earlier. However, when he saw it, he was a little angry. The black shadow that scared them was just a mouse that came to steal food. ¡°How did this Rat Grow So Big?¡± Cole was still in shock. ¡°It¡¯s probably longer than my hand!¡± Cole was right. The Rat in front of him was huge. The length of this rat was also more than 60 centimetres, excluding its long tail. It was a giant among rats. The heroic spirit that Mankiw and Harold had shown was now somewhat worn down. This was how morale was. Done in one vigorous effort, and then decline, three and exhaust. If Mankiw¡¯s encouragement continued until the morning of the next day. Then this team would have extremely high morale, and they would go to Mount Roman regardless of everything. But it was different now. Before the morale had been fully stimulated yet, it was interrupted. Now, except for Mankiw and the people with Mankiw, they probably wouldn¡¯t want to go to Mount Roman anymore. They didn¡¯t care about the mission anymore. After the mess, everyone was even more tired. They had already been scared all day, and when it happened now. They would be mentally tired even if they weren¡¯t physically tired. After arranging the night watchmen, everyone went to sleep in the tents. But this time, the tents were tightly packed together. Everyone was a little worried. ¡ It was a silent night. Early in the morning, the dew-wet the rocks. The Rat¡¯s corpse of yesterday was still there. Haman looked at the rat¡¯s corpse and thought carefully. The creature that came to steal at night should have lived in the forest. And it wasn¡¯t mighty. Because although it could steal the corpse without making a sound, it didn¡¯t attack the living. This proved that it wasn¡¯t powerful. And now, they had already walked out of the forest. The rat¡¯s corpse was left 100 meters away from the camp. It didn¡¯t disappear for no reason. That rat was a particular creature in the forest. He took a deep look at the forest. When he came to the forest a few years ago, these strange things didn¡¯t happen here. But now, the forest had changed too much. ¡°Dong,¡± ¡°Dong,¡± ¡°Dong¡± A heavy sound rang in everyone¡¯s ears. At this time, everyone was packing their things since they had the experience of the past. Everyone used wooden sticks to examine their backpacks this time before picking them up carefully. They were afraid that some poisonous insects and monsters would suddenly come out from inside. Looking at the expressions on everyone¡¯s faces, Mankiw knew that these people wouldn¡¯t want to continue moving forward no matter what. But at this moment, a heavy noise sounded. Haman, who had been calm ever since he came out of the wilderness, suddenly had a change on his face. He turned back to look in the direction of the noise. That was the habitat of the parasaurolophus. Even if it was several kilometres away, the parasaurolophus¡¯ size was apparent. Moreover, it wasn¡¯t a parasaurolophus at all but a group. Yes, the parasaurolophus were gregarious creatures. Their massive size, the rod-shaped crown on the back of their heads. And their forelimbs, which could be considered developed among dinosaurs. All of these proved that the group of dinosaurs in front of them were the parasaurolophus. This parasaurolophus could grow to more than ten meters long and weigh dozens of tons. ¡°Oh no, there is indeed something wrong with this parasaurolophus.¡± According to Haman¡¯s memory, this parasaurolophus should be heading towards Mount Roman at this time of every day. There was a river there, a source of water that wasn¡¯t polluted by acid rain. But now, the parasaurolophus was heading in the opposite direction. There was only one reason for them to come here. And they came to drink water. There must be a problem with the river on Mount Roman. So the parasaurolophus found a new source of water, and it was in this barren mountain. But when they set up camp yesterday, Haman took a closer look at the surrounding environment. Except for a stagnant pool at the foot of the mountain, there was no water source nearby. After living in the wilderness for so long, He had always understood that the most dangerous place was around clean water sources. So, in the past few days, when they set up camps. He was most concerned about whether there was a clean water source around. The Parthenocissus was huge, but it was not slow. They had just been a few kilometres away, but now they were already at the foot of the barren mountain. Could it be that the stagnant pool at the foot of the mountain was a clean water source? Haman was a little puzzled, but he did not smell any stench yesterday, so the water source should not be dirty. Dong, Dong, Dong That was the sound of the parasaurolophus¡¯ footsteps. As they approached, the sound became louder and louder. Seeing the group of parasaurolophus step onto the barren mountain, Haman was surprised. ¡°No, that¡¯s not right!¡± The stagnant pool at the mountain¡¯s foot was not a clean water source. Still, the parasaurolophus group did not come for the collection. At the foot of the barren mountain, the parasaurolophus¡¯s bodies were covered in scales, and the muscles bulged, just like the sculpture that Haman had seen before. However, Haman did not have any thoughts of appreciating it now. All he wanted to do was run! According to the parthenocarpy¡¯s speed, it would take less than five minutes to get here from the foot of the mountain. But they were not the fastest now. They were still walking on two legs. Chapter 29 The parasaurolophus could walk on two legs but could also run on four legs. At the moment, the parasaurolophus had not discovered Haman and the others. They were only moving forward at average walking speed. Haman shouted, ¡°Go quickly, enter the tunnel.¡± But Cole was stunned. ¡°Enter the tunnel? Are you crazy? Isn¡¯t there no turning back once we enter the tunnel?¡± ¡°If we don¡¯t enter the tunnel, we will die now!¡± Haman rushed to the side of the rock, grabbed the dead rat, and ran into the canyon. . He was the person who had the most dealings with dinosaurs, so he knew very well that if they did not run, they would face terrifying opponents. The dinosaurs in the wilderness differed from Haman¡¯s dream since they had already experienced a hundred years of war with humans. The hatred between them was so deep. Whether they were herbivorous or carnivorous, the first reaction to the sight of a human was to fight to the death. This was also why Haman thought of escaping the first thing when the Microraptor brothers in his dream blocked him. If you didn¡¯t fight to the death, then the dinosaurs would force you to do so. Haman looked back and shockingly found that the people behind him were still going to the bonfire to retrieve their luggage. It seemed that the dinosaurs were still far away from here, so no one was particularly anxious. Then he had to say to himself that these people were not afraid of death. How did they still dare to get their clothes at this moment? Even if they wanted to carry their luggage, they should at least get food and water first. At this time, Haman found that he, Mankiw, and Harold were the soberest people on the team. Mankiw immediately carried his backpack and held the gun in his hand. Harold was the same. But what could Haman do? He couldn¡¯t die with them. He was running while observing the situation around him. Haman still remembered the location of the tunnel. Moreover, when he set up camp yesterday, he had also checked the surrounding environment. The tunnel was less than 500 meters away. At his current speed, he would be able to enter the tunnel before the parasaurolophus arrived. However, although these parasaurolophuses were more than ten meters long, they were only about six meters tall. After entering the tunnel, Haman was not confident that he could get rid of these dinosaurs, although he could not run. The dinosaurs¡¯ hatred was highly stable. The dinosaurs had chased Haman for two days and two nights, which was the longest time. This was also why he had kept eating. It was used to prevent these situations. Looking at those people who were neither too fast nor too slow, Haman felt calm. They deserved this. He had tried his best to remind them. He had done his best. There was a good saying. You didn¡¯t need to run faster than the dinosaurs. You just needed to run faster than the others. However, the dozen of people in front of him couldn¡¯t hold the dinosaurs back at all. They could only rely on themselves. As for Cole and others, Haman could only pray in his heart that they were okay. When Haman entered the tunnel, he turned around and looked in that direction. At this time, the group of dinosaurs had already appeared at the top of the barren mountain. Everyone¡¯s faces were filled with fear. They had never thought that the dinosaurs would be able to cover the distance that they had finished in an hour yesterday in less than five minutes. Those dinosaurs were already extremely terrifying when they saw them from a distance. Now, they were only a hundred meters away. Compared to their enormous size, they were practically right in front of their eyes. Cole was so scared that he kept screaming. Many of them were so frightened that their faces were pale. Haman was inevitable that these soldiers had not experienced any real battles. When he was eight years old, he had once seen the city¡¯s army raided the wilderness. Those soldiers looked similar to those in front of him, and even their weapons were not that good. However, there was a temperament in those soldiers, which could only be achieved after experiencing blood and fire. Those who had the mood to pack their clothes just now realized how stupid they were. If they had not packed their luggage just now and headed straight for the tunnel, they might have already arrived. At this moment, Mankiw and Harold had also arrived at the tunnel entrance, only one step behind Haman. For the rest of the people behind, Haman expected that the dragon would eat them. Only Cole and the other one seemed to be scared out of their wits. Not only did they not bring their luggage, but they also didn¡¯t even take their guns. They ran in this direction without thinking. Haman frowned and turned into the tunnel. ¡°Let¡¯s go,¡± Haman said coldly. Mankiw and Harold didn¡¯t look at the people behind them anymore. They just followed Haman into the tunnel. After entering the tunnel, it was completely dark inside. Haman relied on his eyes as a mutated human and could barely see the situation of the tunnel in the darkness. At this moment, Mankiw threw a glow stick over. ¡°Catch.¡± The glow stick had already lit up. Haman held it in his hand, but the glowing thing was not hot at all. He could not understand. But this was not the time to care about this. The parasaurolophus behind them was about to come over. With this glow stick, they would be able to run in this dark tunnel. Haman did not doubt the vision and IQ of the parasaurolophus. After years of fighting with the dinosaurs, Haman knew that these enormous dinosaurs were no less intelligent than humans. Haman took the glow stick and whispered in the tunnel, ¡°Cover your ears and run with me.¡± With that, Haman covered his ears with a piece of his clothes, took the glow stick, and ran. Mankiw and Harold did not hesitate and immediately did as Haman said. At this moment, a huge rumbling sound came from the tunnel behind, making their blood freeze. It was the parasaurolophus that had chased in. The wide tunnel was a little narrow for these giant creatures. This sound was the sound of the parasaurolophus hitting the tunnel. One of the characteristics of dinosaurs was that they held grudges, and they were highly vengeful. Moreover, the stronger the dinosaur, the more vengeful it was. In this tunnel, the parasaurolophus had to try their best to fold themselves up before they could walk. Although the parasaurolophus was much faster than Haman¡¯s when it was outside. They would never be able to catch up with Haman in this tunnel. As Haman ran, the rumbling sounds behind him became softer and softer. But he did not stop. Instead, he took off the pieces of clothes in his ear and shouted, ¡°Keep running until you can¡¯t hear anything.¡± Finally, after running for a while, Haman stopped. At this time, they couldn¡¯t hear the sound of the parasaurolophus hitting the tunnel behind. After resting for two minutes, there was still no sound. The parasaurolophus must have finally stopped following them. They also knew that they would not catch up with Haman and the others in this tunnel. However, this tunnel had now become a one-way tunnel in a short period. The parasaurolophus would wait at the exit for at least a few days. They would wait until they were too hungry or until Haman came out. It was also possible that they would come to this tunnel to check it out at any time when they didn¡¯t find Haman and his team. Chapter 30 Haman had only been to this tunnel once, which happened three years ago. This tunnel had left a deep impression on him since he had been forced into the tunnel by the dinosaurs last time. But that time, it was not a parasaurolophus but an even more terrifying Stegosaurus. Fortunately, the Stegosaurus at that time did not take it seriously. Otherwise, Haman would not even have a chance to escape. When the Stegosaurus saw Haman enter the tunnel, it went crazy. . A prey that was going to be caught just disappeared. As a result, that Stegosaurus blocked Haman at the tunnel entrance for nearly a month. In the end, it could not endure the hunger and had no choice but to leave. At first, Haman was still hiding in the tunnel and did not explore deeper. He lived by eating the moss in the tunnel and the water that leaked from the mountain gap. But after a few days, all the moss nearby was finished by him. He had no choice but to go deeper into the tunnel. That tunnel was extremely long. According to Haman¡¯s rough estimate, this tunnel was at least 50 kilometres long. And it was completely different from outside inside this tunnel. Dinosaurs, which needed sunlight, basically couldn¡¯t survive in the tunnel. None of the creatures inside was huge. But for Haman, they were as dangerous as dinosaurs. Because most of the creatures here were poisonous. And some of the bugs were highly poisonous. Haman had once seen a bug turn into pus just by touching a drop of venom. Looking at the deep tunnel, he found that the glow stick was gradually extinguished. Fortunately, there was luminous moss in the tunnel. After going deep into the tunnel, he found find luminous moss. Haman could not even imagine how it was built since the tunnel was so long. As for the poisonous insects in the tunnel, he did not have to worry about them this time. Because he had a large amount of insect repellent and insecticide in his backpack. Although the insecticide might not be effective against the poisonous insects here, it was still beneficial. And it proved its effect on the barren mountain outside. At this moment, Haman suddenly heard a series of footsteps. He gave Mankiw and the others a hand signal, indicating that they should pay attention and hide. The three of them found a place to hide, waiting for the owner of the footsteps to appear. The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and Haman couldn¡¯t help but wonder who exactly was in this tunnel. Could it be that Cole and the others had survived? Or was there already someone inside the tunnel? Slowly, the footsteps got closer and closer. Haman got a good look at the intruders. It was Cole! And another soldier. Haman remembered his name. It was Ronald. These were the two people who hadn¡¯t taken anything. Could it be that they abandoned the load and they could escape? How did they escape from the parasaurolophus in the tunnel? Haman couldn¡¯t figure it out. At this time, Harold had already stood out. Looking at Harold in front of him, Cole pounced on him as if he had seen his family. ¡°Harold, they¡¯re all dead; they¡¯re all dead!¡± His voice was trembling as if he had experienced an extremely severe shock. Ronald was even worse. When he saw Harold, he collapsed on the ground and burst into tears. A grown man cried like a child. Haman thought to himself. ¡°Isn¡¯t it just a few people who died? Your relationship doesn¡¯t seem to be so good.¡± ¡°How can you cry like this?¡± Haman¡¯s impression of the city dwellers had been worsened ever since they stepped into the wilderness. By now, if it weren¡¯t for Mankiw¡¯s support, they would have all died. After watching Cole and the others cry. Haman led the four men to a relatively dry place. It was used as a temporary resting place. After Cole recovered, he told them what had happened. The dinosaurs looked at them as if they had seen their father¡¯s killer. They ran as fast as they could. Some of them even had guns in their hands and fired at the dinosaurs. The special bullets could indeed cause damage to them. The bullets ignored the red light on the dinosaurs and hit them accurately. Unfortunately, these bullets could only be helpful against small dinosaurs. Because the scales on the body of the parthenocarpy were nearly 30 centimetres thick, it would be penetrated in a short period. When Cole and the others saw this situation, they instantly lost their fighting spirit. They threw away all the load on them and tried their best to speed up. However, it was too late. They could not enter the tunnel before the parasaurolophus caught them up. They watched as the parasaurolophus quickly caught up with the soldiers and crushed them into pieces without any pause. Seeing that they were about to catch up with them, Cole burst out with the most incredible courage in the face of life and death. He would instead fall to death than be trampled to death by the dinosaurs. So he and Ronald jumped down the mountain together. But they did not expect that the bottom of the mountain was the dead pool. Except for Cole¡¯s broken arm, they had no other injuries. But they were still knocked unconscious by the water. When they woke up, they appeared in a glowing lake. However, before the water knocked them out, they saw two parasaurolophuses jumping down as well. ¡°Is the dead pool was connected to the tunnel?¡± After hearing Cole¡¯s story, Haman could not help but sigh that Cole was indeed fortunate. He did not die even after that. However, it seemed that Cole was on the verge of going crazy. The continuous blows made the pampered child in the city on the verge of collapse. Chuck had said that if a person hadn¡¯t been scolded or beaten since he was a child, everything was going smoothly. Then this person would still be a child until he was 30 years old, and he would be scared to death if he was scolded. If the same person had been beaten since he was three years old and was hit three times a day, he would also have to rely on himself to find food wherever he went. If he couldn¡¯t earn food any day, he would starve to death. Then this person¡¯s name would be Haman when he grew up. Haman was still a little angry when he heard Chuck say this. He thought Chuck was saying that he had taken care of Holly too well. Because of this, Haman even extorted money from Chuck. Now it seemed that Chuck was sophisticated after all, and what he said made a lot of sense. Weren¡¯t Cole and Ronald in front of him examples? A few of his unfamiliar companions had died, and they were still alive after being chased by the dinosaurs. These were all things that Haman felt were worth celebrating, but they were actually on the verge of collapse. Even the miners in the market town were more potent than these two people. Looking at the two people hugging each other in front of him, they were at a loss. Haman was speechless and could only eat the biscuits silently. Since the biscuits were not lost, Haman continued to eat until he finished them. But now, he had to save some. At least two-thirds of the original food had been lost. The remaining biscuits were all in Haman and Mankiw¡¯s backpacks. As for Harold¡¯s backpack, it was full of all kinds of tools. Chapter 31 When they first set out from the market town, no one didn¡¯t want to complete the mission apart from Haman. But now, how many people were willing to risk their lives to complete the mission, including Mankiw? But the ridiculous thing was whether they wanted to complete the mission or not. There was only one way out. And that was to get out of the tunnel and go to Mount Roman. Yes, the end of the tunnel was Mount Roman. . When Haman entered the running river. Whatever he thought, he was carried along by the river. The course of events never changed by the individual will. The group continued to walk along the tunnel. Mankiw said that according to the records in the city. This tunnel was initially used for vehicles. ¡°Vehicles?¡± Haman thought to himself. ¡°Are they the steel monsters that the capture team parked in the town?¡± There were no forks in the tunnel, and there were no sharp corners. It indeed looked very suitable for vehicles. However, Haman looked up at the top of the six-meter-high tunnel. How big was the car that needed such a high tunnel! Although the once majestic tunnel had been worn away by time. The originally magnificent artificial tunnel was now uneven due to the erosion of water and plants. However, this great power could still span over a hundred years and survive until now. Although the road inside the tunnel was a little bumpy, it was much easier than walking in the forest. There were no large creatures here, only some poisonous insects. The insect repellent that Haman and the others had could protect them from the poisonous insects. In just three hours, they had advanced 20 kilometres. It should have been noon by now. The sunshine was Mankiw said should have arrived again. But the sunshine couldn¡¯t arrive in the tunnel. ¡°Do you know why there is sunlight?¡± Haman looked at Mankiw and asked. ¡°Sunlight?¡± Haman looked at Haman. Haman was standing on a dry rock. ¡°You grew up in the town, so, normally, you don¡¯t know.¡± Mankiw continued, ¡°The sunlight is not because of the sun. The root cause is the withered grass.¡± ¡°Not the sun?¡± Haman had some guesses. According to the priest, before the cataclysm, there was no such thing as sunlight. Moreover, at the beginning of the cataclysm, there was no such thing as the sun. The sunlight only gradually appeared in the past few decades. And as time passed, it continued to strengthen. However, Haman didn¡¯t expect that the unremarkable withered grass caused the sun. According to Haman¡¯s observation, the range of withered grass had been increasing over the years. Three years ago, the grass in the forest was still green. But now, even the grass in the forest had become withered yellow. When they got out of the tunnel, they could see the situation of Mount Roman. If even the grass on Mount Roman had become withered yellow. Then the withered grass over the past two years had spread greatly. After thinking for a while, Haman stopped thinking. This was a habit he had developed over the years. When he thought he would starve faster. To save energy, he tried not to waste his energy on things that could not be figured out. Although there was no need to rest because of the sunlight in this tunnel. The team still stopped for a while. When they got up in the morning, they were chased by the parasaurolophus. Everyone was still hungry. Except for Haman. He was still full. He had just found a clean place to sit down. Cole and Ronald moaned faintly. ¡°Captain, do you have any more cigarettes?¡± Cole¡¯s face looked highly distorted. It was as if there was a group of ants crawling around on him. He stared at Cole and Ronald in silence for a while. Mankiw gave Harold a look. Harold immediately took out a pack of cigarettes from his backpack behind him and threw two to them. Haman was not curious. This thing was prevalent in the market town. There was one cigarette a day in the basic salary of the mine. There was a lot of stuff in it. Once you got into it, you could not quit. Haman had known too many of these things. There were only two consequences for people who got into it. Either they were dragged down by it. Eventually, they could not afford to buy cigarettes and died in the constant torture of themselves. Or, because they kept smoking, they directly dragged down themselves and died in great pain. Besides this, Haman had not seen any other situation. Either he had never touched this, or he could not quit. There was no other situation. A few days ago, Haman also saw these soldiers from the city smoking. But Haman thought that these cigarettes were just ordinary ones with nothing added. But no matter how Haman looked down on these soldiers from the city. He didn¡¯t expect that these people were also smoking these cigarettes with something added. Haman and many people in the market town knew about this, but what about the people in the city? At first, he thought these were just things used to control the refugees in the market town. At the same time, these refugees would be controlled by cigarettes. Unexpectedly, even the people in the city couldn¡¯t resist the power of this thing. ¡°Mankiw, this is?¡± Haman looked at Mankiw with a severe expression. Mankiw knew what Haman wanted to ask, so he answered helplessly. ¡°If you smoke too much, you will be like walking corpses, living in a daze.¡± Mankiw looked calm, but his tone was very emotional. Seeing Cole and Ronald go wild with joy because they got a cigarette, they even forgot the hunger from the morning. Haman and the other two squatted at the side, eating biscuits while looking at the two smoking people. ¡°Why don¡¯t you two smoke?¡± Haman asked casually. These two people had never smoked a cigarette from the beginning to the end. Even when other people smoked, they would stay far away to avoid touching the smoke. ¡°They are the private army of the consortium.¡± Mankiw said calmly, ¡°Some people don¡¯t want the consortium to be too strong.¡± ¡°Then where are so many tobaccos in the city?¡± Haman continued to ask his question. Mankiw looked at him strangely and spoke. ¡°Aren¡¯t you working for Boss Pulis? He is the biggest tobacco dealer in the nearby cities!¡± Hearing this, Haman finally understood why Mankiw looked at him strangely. But Haman didn¡¯t know anything about Pulis. It was just that he used Pulis¡¯s name since Chuck deliberately helped him. But in the end, he still failed. The document issued by the mayor could command anyone at will. This was the consensus of the market town. There had been countless people who ignored his document. But none of those people could live finally. Then gradually, the mayor¡¯s document was regarded as a death warrant by the people of the market town. ¡°If they refuse, they will die, and if they follow, they will probably still die. Chapter 32 The tunnel was very long. Fortunately, it was not endless. After one day of trekking, Haman and the others finally walked out of the tunnel before the sun was set. I was looking at the green and yellow fields in front of them. Haman was full of emotion in his heart. It seemed that the withered grass had also spread to this place.. According to Mankiw. The wider the spread of the withered grass, the higher the temperature of the Sun would be. According to some meteorologists in Mankiw¡¯s mouth. When all the land around the world is covered with dead grass. The temperature of the sun will reach 70 degrees. If it is in a particularly hot place, it will even be 80 degrees. Haman could not imagine. ¡°How will humans survive at that temperature.¡± At that temperature, apart from withered grass. Haman couldn¡¯t imagine any plants surviving. The vast wilderness in front of him was Mount Roman. Mount Roman was not a mountain. It was a plateau. However, Mount Roman was not big. It was close to the Kerry plateau but not connected to it. That was why it was called Mount Roman. The red sun was almost setting. As you were looking around, it was as if the grassland in front was also dyed blood red. The afterglow of the sunset was just like the humans at this moment. In less than six years, the withered grass would spread to every corner of the Earth¡¯s land. At that time, humanity would also usher in the moment of doom. Although there was no light in the future, Haman¡¯s goal now was to survive. To live with Tok and Holly. Even if the last day came. It wouldn¡¯t stop them from living. Even since Haman could remember. He had lived in this deadly wilderness for ten years. During these ten years, Haman¡¯s every step was covered in blood. He fought his way out with his blood. No matter what the future was, the most important thing was the present for Haman. It¡¯s almost nighttime outside now. Some of the dinosaurs have already started to move out. More than 200 herbivores live on Mount Roman, which covers an area of more than 100 square kilometres. The herbivores here had no natural enemies. The only thing that limited their numbers was food and living space. It was good news that there were only herbivores on Mount Roman. Because herbivores weren¡¯t like carnivores. They were killing machines. One carnivore could kill herbivores that were ten times their size. But herbivores had their disadvantages. Because these guys could find their food all over the place. They tend to be extremely large. The dinosaurs on Mount Roman were mostly cranked. They weren¡¯t nearly as big as the triceratops that Haman had encountered. But they weren¡¯t small either. The average size of these dinosaurs was about 10 meters. No less than the group of parthenopids that chased Haman into the tunnel. But the dinosaur population here was mostly hylaeosaurus. They looked like an enlarged beetle. Their backs were covered with thick scales from head to tail. At the same time, they had long spikes on their backs and ribs. Such hylaeosaurus was even more powerful than the parasaurolophus s. Haman knew that this was the habitat of hylaeosaurus. This was also an important reason why Haman didn¡¯t want to come here in the first place. Haman didn¡¯t even have the thought of fighting a dinosaur of this level. ¡°Alright.¡± Haman turned around and looked at the four people following behind him. After experiencing the parasaurolophus incident, these people now regarded Haman as their lead. Whether it was Cole or Mankiw. They would seek his opinion before every move. ¡°I haven¡¯t been here for a few years. It¡¯s not suitable to go out and explore at night.¡± ¡°Let¡¯s rest in the tunnel today and find the way back tomorrow.¡± In the tunnel, Haman and the others had reached a consensus. No one wanted to do missions anymore. Except for Mankiw. So, they agreed to return to town after they left the tunnel. Mankiw couldn¡¯t stop them, although he didn¡¯t want to return. However, Mankiw didn¡¯t intend to interfere with their return. Although his own survival experience wasn¡¯t as good as Haman¡¯s. But outside the tunnel was Mount Roman. Since they had arrived at the destination, Haman was not so useful as a guide. So, according to their agreement. After walking out of the tunnel, Haman and the other three people would first return, and Mankiw would continue his mission alone. No matter what happened, he insisted on continuing to complete the mission. Along the way, they encountered a mysterious death. Then the mysterious disappearance of the body. Then the attack of the parasaurolophus. Danger came after another. However, no matter how dangerous it was, Mankiw insisted on completing the mission. Haman did not know why, but he was sure that. It was not as simple as becoming a refugee if they could not complete the mission. It was right to be bad to be a refugee. But in the face of death, any punishment was nothing. Even Harold had asked Mankiw about the reason. But no matter how he asked, he kept quiet. Haman was also a little curious about what could make a person give up his life. If Haman had to choose, there was only one reason in the world that could make him willingly risk his life to do something. It was because of Holly. Mankiw must have his reasons, but Haman didn¡¯t want him to say it. In the wilderness, curiosity was always a sign of death. After setting up their tents, everyone sat in front of their tents and ate. There wasn¡¯t much to light a fire in this tunnel. This was the first night they hadn¡¯t lit a fire since they entered the wilderness. Hopefully, it will not be the last time. Naturally, Haman would not take out the food in his backpack to share it with others. But there were not many people now, and there was still a lot of food in Mankiw¡¯s backpack. The food that was originally enough for twenty people was now sufficient for five people, even if two-thirds of it was lost. It was still enough for five people. ¡ It was quiet in the tunnel in the early morning. Haman was snoring loudly in the tunnel. At this moment, Cole and Ronald, standing at the tunnel entrance, stood up. They walked towards Mankiw¡¯s backpack. It seemed like they were going to get out cigarettes from inside. ¡°There will be cigarettes when we get back,¡± Cole said softly. ¡°Who knows? We will become refugees when we are back. When that time comes, there will be no more cigarettes!¡± Ronald was somewhat pessimistic. At this time, Mankiw had already woken up. When he woke up, he felt full of energy. He had received relevant training, so he had an extraordinary way of sleeping. He could even stay alert in his sleep. Cole and Ronald chatted as they walked towards Mankiw. However, they didn¡¯t realize that when they got up from the tunnel entrance. Haman stopped snoring. Chapter 33 The two of them seemed to want to take out cigarettes from their backpacks. All the supplies they had on them had been thrown away when they were running for their lives. Now, apart from the clothes they were wearing, there was nothing left. However, when they passed by Haman and Mankiw, they suddenly wanted to attack them. Both of them had rocks in their hands. They wanted to attack Haman and Mankiw, respectively. . Haman and the others were mutated, humans. This was something that they knew long ago. After mutated humans transformed into dinosaurs, there would also be a red light on them. But they could not break that layer of red light. Therefore, they only dared to kill at night when everyone was asleep. They were not completely dumbfounded since they knew that they couldn¡¯t kill them during the day. They sneaked this time, maybe for the guns, food, or even cigarettes. However, they did not know what kind of opponent they were facing. ¡°Bang.¡± Ronald, who had attacked Mankiw, looked at the bloody hole in his abdomen in disbelief with a loud bang. He had seen that Mankiw had fallen asleep. How could Mankiw be so fast? Not only did he wake up in an instant, but he could even pick up a gun. On the other side, the ambusher, Cole, let out a cry of pain. The moment he approached Haman, Haman stood up like a sudden bolt of lightning in the air. He grabbed his neck. Just as Cole was about to throw the stone at him. He realized that Haman had grabbed his hand. He couldn¡¯t move at all. Haman lifted an adult man who weighed more than 90 kilograms with one hand. Later, Cole felt a sharp pain in his back while Haman pushed him against the tunnel wall with one hand. At this time, he could no longer hold the stone in his hand. Harold, who was sleeping soundly, was awakened by the sudden outbreak of the battle. The loud gunshots echoed in the tunnel. Harold felt as if a bomb had exploded in his ears. Harold, who had just woken up, did not even know what had happened. He only saw Ronald clutching his stomach and lying on the ground. Cole was pinned to the wall by Haman with one hand, unable to move. Mankiw¡¯s muzzle temperature is rapidly cooling, while Ronald is quickly cooling his blood opposite him. This was Mankiw¡¯s first shot on his journey. However, no one had expected him to be so resolute and decisive. Moreover, he was very calm when he killed people as if he was drinking water easily. However, it was not Mankiw who caused the huge visual impact on the others, but Haman. In a blink of an eye, the bullet had already entered the human body like a flash of lightning. The enormous kinetic energy rotated and tore at the muscles and internal organs until all the kinetic energy was exhausted. Then it would stop. However, the bullet was in the human body; outsiders could not see it. The shooter couldn¡¯t see it himself. But Haman was different. The image of him holding up one adult man with one hand was too violent. Haman was only 1.78 meters tall. At the age of 18, he often lacked food. He only had enough food recently. And he was not full-grown yet. So neither Cole nor Ronald. Cared about whether or not Haman had changed. How much strength could a refugee from a market town have if he was malnourished and lacked food and clothing? He had only developed some survival skills through training in the wilderness. Haman had never attacked, and Mankiw had never fired. As a result, everyone was not very clear about their strength. They only knew that after transforming, they should be very strong. This was also the reason why Cole and the others dared to make a move. However, what they did not expect was that this vague judgment was so wrong. Haman was locking Cole¡¯s neck with his fingers like steel. Then Cole instantly felt that his blood could no longer supply his brain. He could actually use his feet to kick Haman¡¯s vital part. But at this moment, he was blank in his mind, and his hands and feet were twitching unconsciously. Mankiw looked at Haman, puzzled. Haman had definitely fallen asleep just now. The snoring could be faked. But his eyelids could not be faked. He had undergone very rigorous training, which even included judging whether sleep was real or fake. A person could pretend to be asleep. But he would move the eyelids subconsciously. A person who was not asleep could not control his eyelids for a long time. So, he knew that Haman was really asleep. But the moment Cole and the other got up, Haman¡¯s snoring disappeared, proving that he had woken up at that moment. How could a person who had entered a deep sleep be alert? Haman was a refugee in a market town. He could not have received the same training as him. ¡°What¡¯s going on?¡± Mankiw asked. Haman had long discovered that these two people were plotting something. He had thought that these people would at least be a little smarter. So he did not try to ask what Cole was after. Food? Guns? Or cigarettes? None of these was important. Haman didn¡¯t feel the need to think like a man who had been betrayed. He wouldn¡¯t scream in pain to ask why because he didn¡¯t need an answer. Without trust, there would be no betrayal. In Haman¡¯s eyes, these teammates were no different from dinosaurs in the wilderness. Even Mankiw, who had always been kind to Haman, was at most a bystander in the market town. Haman did not break Cole¡¯s neck just because he wanted to see Mankiw¡¯s reaction. Since Mankiw wanted to ask the intention of these two people, Haman did not force him. He let go of Cole¡¯s hand, and Cole slid to the ground. After twitching on the ground for a while, Cole slowly sat up. Mankiw was gloomy, and he asked angrily, ¡°Why? Didn¡¯t I tell you to return?¡± He looked at Cole, who was crying nonstop. Harold gave him a cigarette. Cole lit up the cigarette. With the smoke lingering around, he slowly pulled himself together. ¡°Why?¡± His voice was very soft. ¡°Do you ask why?¡± ¡°After we go back, we will become refugees and common people?¡± ¡°At that time, I will be like that Bastard Haman who will spend all day looking for food in the wilderness. In the end, I will be killed by the dinosaurs.¡± ¡°Or I will die in the mines.¡± ¡°If I go with you, I will die. If I go back, I will also die. Then why do I have to live?¡± ¡°Why don¡¯t I kill all of you and go to Hell with me!¡± Cole¡¯s voice became louder and louder. Finally, it was a voice that could tear his throat apart. The greatest courage was not to face death but to face it bravely after realizing the truth of life. That¡¯s what Haman heard from the priest. It made sense to him, but he never understood it. This time he understood. Chapter 34 Sometimes it took more courage to live than to die. Cole and Ronald didn¡¯t want to be refugees because they feared death. They even wanted to die with everyone else. There was no doubt that Cole had lost his courage. When he first set out from the market town, Cole faced the wilderness with the pride he had built up in the past. But when he had lost this pride in the wilderness completely¡. Cole had already collapsed. He had lost the courage to continue living. People who grew up in Azure Dragon City had natural discrimination against refugees like Haman. Even if Haman was a mutant, he was no exception. However, the reason why Cole discriminated against Haman was that he was a city dweller. However, Haman had lived in the market town for so long and had understood this principle already. There was nothing in this world that could be relied on, position, money and status. The only one that could be relied on was yourself. After hearing these words, Mankiw¡¯s originally gloomy face turned into extreme anger. ¡°Bang.¡± Another gunshot rang out. Cole was also dead. He died silently. In one night, there were only three people left in the original 21-man team. Haman, Mankiw, and Harold. The so-called capture team seemed to be a joke now. How could such a ragtag team still want to capture dinosaurs in the wilderness? They were just so lucky to be alive now. ¡ It was dawn. The Red Sun continued to rise from the east. Haman and the others had not fallen asleep since the incident in the early morning. They sat at the entrance of the tunnel and lit a bonfire. Mankiw and Harold seemed to be in pain. Although Cole did not know them very well. But the teammate who had experienced life and death together even wanted to attack him. This made them very frustrated. Only Haman was still eating and drinking as if he was ignorant. The betrayal of his companions happened almost every few days in the town. Moreover, even if the companions in the town were the people who could be relied on. But Cole and the others were just people who he had known for less than ten days. How could Haman be sad for these two people? He watched the sun slowly rise. ¡°They brought this on themselves.¡± Mankiw said, ¡°You two can go back first. I can finish the rest of the way alone.¡± Mankiw was extremely determined as if nothing could change his decision. When it was time to leave, Haman could not help but ask. ¡°Mount Roman is still quite big. How are you going to find that dinosaur?¡± ¡°Maybe that dinosaur is no longer on Mount Roman?¡± Mankiw took out a device from his backpack. It showed a light spot and a map. However, the map was too simple. If Haman did not know the terrain of Mount Roman, he might not have recognized it as Mount Roman. ¡°This light spot is that dinosaur,¡± Mankiw said calmly. ¡°Previously, that dinosaur was implanted with a locator.¡± So that was the case. There were still many good things in the city! ¡°How far away is that dinosaur from us?¡± He asked. When Mankiw heard this, he carefully looked at the map. ¡°Ten¡¡±Mankiw was a little excited as he spoke. ¡°Then what?¡± Haman did not understand. ¡°Ten kilometres?¡± Mark continued, ¡°Ten, nine, eight¡¡± There was no need for Mankiw to say the rest because Haman had already heard the rumbling footsteps. He looked up and saw a large group of hylaeosauruss covered in thick scales. They swept up a large amount of dust and ran towards the tunnel entrance. The leading hylaeosauruss was terrifying, 16 meters long. More importantly, there was a small dinosaur that was less than a meter long above its head. That small dinosaur was a species that Haman had never seen before. Haman and Mankiw looked at each other, their eyes full of shock. ¡°Run!¡± Haman roared. A dinosaur he had never seen before could stay on top of the hylaeosaurus as a leader. Why did the hylaeosaurus Group know that they were here? They wanted to know. However, they didn¡¯t have time to think about it now. This time, the situation was even more critical than yesterday morning. After Haman roared, then he abandoned his backpack and transformed. He turned into a compsognathus. Haman had tried it before. When he transformed, his clothes would disappear. When he reverted to his human form, they would reappear again. But other things wouldn¡¯t work. As he lowered his head, and the two-meter-long compsognathus picked up the backpack and ran outside. Mankiw also transformed into a dinosaur. Not only did he throw Harold onto his back, but he also carried the backpack. Then he followed Haman and ran outside. Although the hylaeosauruss in front of them were all more than ten meters long. They were different from the parasaurolophus. They weren¡¯t that tall. Even the leader of the hylaeosaurus was only four meters tall. Even if it entered the tunnel, it could still run. Just like yesterday, if they hid in the tunnel to avoid being chased by the dragons. That was impossible. They could only run out of the tunnel, hoping for a chance to survive. After transforming into a compsognathus, Haman¡¯s running speed suddenly increased. Compsognathus was originally the most powerful of the D class dinosaurs. Moreover, Haman was a carnivorous dinosaur. So he was far faster than that of the herbivorous dinosaurs. The hylaeosaurus behind him was the best of the C class dinosaurs. But fortunately, the hylaeosaurus was a vegetarian dinosaur. Even if the hylaeosaurus was the fastest among the vegetarian dinosaurs, it was slightly quicker than Haman. It wouldn¡¯t be able to catch up in a short period. But there was still a problem. The hylaeosauruss¡¯ endurance far exceeded Haman¡¯s. If they continued running like this, Haman would eventually be caught. Then things would be bad. Before Mankiw transformed, he was as fast as Haman at running. Although Mankiw was a class C mutant, Haman was more familiar with the wilderness than him. But now, after Mankiw transformed, he was much faster than Haman. It was only a matter of time before he lost him. Thinking of this, Haman changed his direction. He rushed towards the edge of Mount Roman. As for Mankiw, it was not a problem for him to lose the hylaeosaurus. In fact, if there was only one hylaeosaurus. As long as it was not the leader of the 16-meter hylaeosaurus. Mankiw would be able to defeat it. But there were more than 60 hylaeosauruss in front of him. So a grade-c mutant couldn¡¯t defeat such a group of this size dinosaurs. Even many grade-b mutants found it difficult to deal with the scene in front of them. Mankiw had strong combat effectiveness. If he had more than 10 guns. He could basically defeat any single grade-c dinosaur. But yesterday morning, and this morning. It was beyond Mankiw¡¯s ability. Chapter 35 Mount Roman was actually a fragment of a plateau. As long as you could run to the edge of Mount Roman, you could find that. In most places, there was no way to go down the mountain. You could only face cliffs that were nearly 1,000 meters high. If Haman was still an ordinary person, he would never send himself to such a dead end to die. However, Haman was now a mutant.. He had the red light like the dinosaurs. The cliff was no longer a dangerous dead end. It was even the best way for Haman to escape. Mount Roman was not big. It was about 100 square kilometres. The terrain was round. The farthest place from the cliff was less than six kilometres. The shortest distance the entrance of the Tunnel Haman and the others were at was only three kilometres away from the nearest edge. With the help of the compsognathuss, they arrived in a moment. Looking at the cliff in front of him, Haman turned around. There were more than 60 hylaeosauruss behind them! ¡°What is going on?¡± Haman thought that since he had gone different ways with Mankiw. After all, more than half of the hylaeosauruss would go after Mankiw. But now, there were still more than 60 hylaeosauruss behind him? ¡°Am I that attractive?¡± Haman was a little confused. Why didn¡¯t these hylaeosauruss go after Mankiw? Haman could also see the leader of the hylaeosauruss and the small dragon on his head. Wait! It was Mankiw who was less than 100 meters in front of the hylaeosauruss. He didn¡¯t separate from Haman at all. ¡°Come on!¡± Haman hated Mankiw for the first time since he left the market town. ¡°Why does he have to follow me?¡± ¡°I am just an ordinary guide!¡± ¡°I don¡¯t have any treasure on me at all!¡± Whatever the reason, the current situation did not allow him to think. The cliff was right in front of him. However, Haman made a move that Mankiw did never expect. He even slowed down! Haman slowed down just as he was about to reach the cliff. Not only did he slow down, he even stopped where he was. He quietly looked at the hylaeosaurus and Mankiw, who was chasing after him. As the rumbling footsteps sounded, the gravel on the ground was shaken off. More than 60 huge monsters were rushing over in front of him. However, Haman just stood there and did nothing. More than 60 huge monsters that were as big as Mount Tai charged towards Haman under the lead of Mankiw. Haman would normally cherish his life, but he was brave enough when he needed to risk his life. In fact, before Haman was 14 years old. He did not care about his life when fighting that he could intimidate those greedy people. Both Mankiw and the hylaeosaurus were extremely fast. Seeing that Haman stopped in place. Mankiw was a little surprised. However, the confidence that he always had made Mankiw decide to do the same thing as Haman. Then he suddenly accelerated. He was already much faster than Haman. As he accelerated, he quickly passed the hylaeosaurus. But when he was almost in front of Haman, Mankiw did the same thing. He slowed down! He also slowed down and also stopped there. But the hylaeosaurus would not slow down. Even the small dinosaur on the head of the hylaeosaurus was still urging. It wanted these hylaeosauruss to run faster. One of them slowed down, the other accelerated. The distance between the hylaeosauruss and Mankiw quickly shortened. At this time, Mankiw was just standing next to Haman. And more than 60 hylaeosauruss rushed in front of Haman. Only when they were close enough could they feel the size of these creatures. Haman, who was more than two meters long, was like a gecko in front of these hylaeosauruss. He could be trampled to death by a single step. Until now, Haman remained calm. Although Haman cherished his life very much, he had lived in the wilderness for ten years. And he had experienced more life-and-death crises than ordinary people could imagine. He could remain calm no matter how extremely dangerous it was for him. Closer, closer. Although Mankiw was in the form of a dinosaur. He was already sweaty on the forehead. Harold, who was on his back, was even more unbearable. If he had just peed in the morning, he would have scared the shit out of him now. But even so, Harold was already trembling on both legs, and he could not stand up. He watched as the hylaeosaurus arrived ten meters in front of him. Haman lay down on the spot, and behind him was a cliff that was thousands of meters deep. As he lay down, Haman fell straight down the cliff. Seeing Haman¡¯s actions, Mankiw finally understood his thoughts. Following that, he lay down on the spot and fell straight down the cliff. As the strong wind whistled, Haman accelerated in midair. In the blink of an eye, he fell dozens of meters. At that moment, a shadow suddenly covered the top of his head. Those hylaeosauruss also jumped down from the cliff without hesitation. Dinosaurs were like that. Although there were red lights on them, they dared to go anywhere since they wouldn¡¯t get hurt. Even if they jumped off the cliff. It was just like walking down a flight of stairs for these giant creatures. It would be impossible if they wanted to escape by jumping off the cliff. However, seeing these hylaeosauruss rushing down without hesitation. Haman smiled. However, this smile appeared particularly ferocious for the fine-jawed dragon. Haman was covered in red light as he extended his claws. Beside him was Mount Roman. He wanted to slow down and jump down on the spot to get closer to Mount Roman. When he touched the stones with his claws, they should have turned into a bloody mess in an instant. But under the protection of the red light, Haman¡¯s claws were not damaged at all. It was just that the force of the fall was so great that Haman could not completely stop for a moment. At that moment, the hylaeosauruss that had rushed down from the cliff jumped over Haman¡¯s head. Because they had all rushed down, they couldn¡¯t cross such a distance. Though they were about ten meters from each other. When they were at the same level. Mankiw had been paying attention to Haman. After noticing that Haman slowed down, he also did so. But Mankiw¡¯s strength was even more powerful, and even half of his arm had sunk into the mountain. Then Haman and Mankiw stopped in the middle of the cliffs of Mount Roman very quickly. They were suspended in mid-air. At this moment, the hylaeosauruss sped up and crashed heavily onto the ground. Their huge bodies even created a huge crater in the ground. And it made the dust fill the air. Seeing the hylaeosauruss that couldn¡¯t hold onto the mountain, Haman turned around and walked towards the top of the hill. ¡°Roar!!¡± The hylaeosauruss that fell to the ground let out a huge roar. However, the hylaeosauruss quickly calmed down under the roar of the small dinosaur. Mankiw also began to climb up the mountain. At this moment, the hylaeosauruss at the foot of the mountain separated into two groups. One group was led by the hylaeosaurus Leader, and they climbed up the cliff. They smashed their claws covered with red light into the mountain and made a pit. They climbed up the mountain step by step. The others, on the other hand, ran up the mountain. Chapter 36 Seeing the two groups of dinosaurs, Haman had some ideas. The dinosaurs that climbed up the cliff prevented Haman and the others from escaping from the cliff. The dinosaurs that climbed up the mountain from other places were there to intercept them faster. Although the dinosaurs that Haman had encountered before had high intelligence. There was a very serious problem with them. Because these dinosaurs had always lived in the wild.. Other than the dinosaurs themselves, there was nothing that could threaten them. So they did not have any schemes as time went by since they had a high IQ. In the past, these dinosaurs would only climb up from the cliff. But now, they had learned to separate. It seemed that either the intelligence of the hylaeosaurus had improved. Or, it could only be because of that small dinosaur. Fortunately, Haman was less than 100 meters away from the top of the mountain. No matter how fast those dinosaurs were, they couldn¡¯t catch up with Haman before he reached the top of the mountain. And he climbed up from the cliff not soon. Mankiw stood beside him. ¡ At this time, Haman had already hidden in a small cave. Outside was the angry roar of the hylaeosaurus. ¡°Why are you following me?¡± Haman was very unhappy. If it were not for Mankiw, he might have escaped just now. Meanwhile, Mankiw could also rely on his speed to shake off the hylaeosauruss. ¡°I want to complete the mission!¡± Mankiw looked serious. If Mankiw had just escaped by himself, he and Harold alone would not have completed the mission. ¡°Mission?¡± Haman roared, ¡°Those damned missions have nothing to do with me!¡± Haman did not want to get involved in this mission at all. ¡°I¡¯m just a guide!¡± Haman gritted his teeth and said, ¡°Do you know what a guide means?¡± ¡°A guide is just a guide! As long as I bring you to Mount Roman, my mission will be completed! Do you understand? ¡± The cave fell into silence. Haman was not just pretending to be angry since he wanted Mankiw to give him an explanation. Mankiw remained silent, the expression on his face constantly changing. It was as if he was making an important decision. After pondering for a moment, he finally said. ¡°I know it¡¯s beyond the scope of your mission to catch the dinosaurs, but without your help, it is really difficult for us to complete it.¡± Haman did not reply. He knew that Mankiw had not finished speaking. Sure enough, he continued. ¡°In fact, our two missions cannot be completed because of some reasons in the city.¡± ¡°Only Harold and I are real soldiers of the twenty people in the second capture team.¡± ¡°The rest are people that the consortium forced in.¡± ¡°We don¡¯t have enough strength this time, which is why I must let you be the guide.¡± ¡°I hope you can help us complete the mission.¡± ¡°After that, I¡¯m willing to give you all the information about the mutants.¡± ¡°Of course, only limited to what I know.¡± Hearing this, the most excited one was not Haman but Harold. ¡°Captain, do you really want to die?¡± Harold grabbed Mankiw¡¯s collar and roared at him. ¡°If you hand that thing over, you must die regardless of whether you can complete the mission or not!¡± Mankiw waved his hand and took Harold¡¯s hand away, saying calmly. ¡°Survival and benefits are not important to me. What¡¯s important is that I hope the dinosaurs can completely disappear in my generation.¡± Mankiw was calm when he spoke as if he was not talking about his own life and death but someone else¡¯s. Haman quietly watched them. To be honest, Haman did not completely trust Mankiw. Mankiw had said a lot just now. He wanted to kill the dinosaurs even at the cost of his life. However, Haman had seen too many people who could only tell lies. If he had trusted others so easily, he would have died long ago. ¡°Information on mutated humans?¡± Haman asked slowly, ¡°What is that?¡± He had never heard of this from anyone, so he really didn¡¯t know how to judge. Hearing this, Harold stood up from the ground and spoke. ¡°That is something that ordinary people wouldn¡¯t be able to exchange for their lives¡¡± Before he could finish, Mankiw interrupted him. ¡°There¡¯s a place in the city for mutated humans to learn. And you can only learn it by signing something like the deed of sale.¡± ¡°The information about mutated humans is leaked from there.¡± Haman was a little puzzled. The things he heard were all those he had no impression of before. However, after hearing Mankiw¡¯s words, Haman could barely believe it. Even so, Haman would never die with them. ¡°First of all, I do not know whether the information is true, even if it is true, so what?¡± Haman said helplessly. ¡°There are only the three of us. How are we going to deal with the dozens of hylaeosauruss? With the guns in our hands?¡± Hearing that Haman was a little hesitant, Mankiw took out his backpack and took out an oval-shaped metal object. The moment he saw this object, Haman hid in the corner of the cave. Even so, he didn¡¯t feel safe at all. ¡°What¡ What is that?¡± Seeing his reaction, Harold smiled and said, ¡°This is the most powerful weapon in Azure Dragon City, which can kill all the dinosaurs within a hundred-meter radius!¡± ¡°A 100-meter radius?¡± ¡°How big is this cave?¡± ¡°No wonder I still feel unsafe to hide here.¡± He had sensed the danger, which warned him that the risk ahead was fatal. When it was placed in the backpack, Haman did not notice anything. It seemed that the backpack had been specially processed. ¡°Why don¡¯t you guys complete the mission yourself with such a thing? What else do you need me for?¡± Haman stood far away and spoke to them. ¡°It¡¯s difficult to make a dinosaur marrow bomb, so we only brought one. Moreover, our mission is to capture the dinosaurs alive.¡± Mankiw put the bomb back into his backpack and calmly said, ¡°This is also the reason why we didn¡¯t take it out to deal with the parasaurolophus before.¡± Seeing Mankiw put the bomb back into his backpack, Haman slightly relaxed, but he still didn¡¯t approach them. ¡°In that case, you indeed can complete the mission. But,¡± Haman changed his tone and said, ¡°I refuse.¡± ¡°No matter what, this mission is too dangerous, and it has nothing to do with me.¡± Seeing that the cooperation they had just reached was about to be ruined, Harrod couldn¡¯t help and said. ¡°Come on, all you know is to escape.¡± Harrod was so angry and said. ¡°Can you escape when the dinosaurs are coming to you in the future?¡± ¡°Even if you can escape, don¡¯t you have anyone you care about? Will they be able to do so?¡± ¡ Harold seemed to be disappointed with Haman and said a lot to him. If the dinosaurs really arrived at the market town, Haman was indeed not afraid of them. But what about Holly and Tok? Haman kept thinking. In the end, he looked at Mankiw¡¯s determined eyes that had never changed. ¡°Ok, I¡¯ll give it a shot!¡± Chapter 37 ¡°Okay!¡± Mankiw said excitedly. He was most afraid that Haman would not be willing to complete the mission no matter what. Although it seemed that they already knew the route to Mount Roman. Haman had let them avoid many dinosaur habitats along the way. And it would be impossible to reach Mount Roman with just 20 people if it was because of him. According to Mankiw¡¯s calculations, if he wanted to reach Mount Roman with his own strength.. He would need at least five hundred soldiers even if he knew the route. Moreover, they should not be soldiers from a financial group like Cole. If Haman did not join, then it would be impossible to return to the city safely. Even if Mankiw could complete the mission and capture the baby dinosaur alive, he would need at least five hundred soldiers. ¡°Since that¡¯s the case, let¡¯s talk about how to complete this mission!¡± Haman sat back down. ¡°At least, I want to know why that Baby Dinosaur was able to join the hylaeosaurus.¡± This was the most important question! Because that baby dinosaur had always been together with the hylaeosaurus, making it impossible that the ¡°Dragon Marrow Bomb¡± was useful. The powerful power of the bomb could kill all the dinosaurs within a hundred-meter radius. The little dinosaur would also be killed. If the little dinosaur was killed, the mission would be a failure. Mankiw thought for a while and said slowly. ¡°I¡¯m not entirely sure, but according to the intelligence, the little dinosaur can command the dinosaurs ¡°At the same time, it is much faster than other dinosaurs of the same size. It¡¯s even faster than most crank dinosaurs.¡± ¡°But this kind of command is not very strong since those dinosaurs also have their own intelligence.¡± Hearing this, Haman felt that this mission was not too bad. It was not as difficult as he had initially thought. It was impossible to complete this mission if the little dinosaur could really stay with the hylaeosauruss. At that time, the bomb would not be used. With just the three of them, it would be considered lucky for them to defeat two hylaeosauruss. Not to mention completing the mission. ¡°What is the background of that little dinosaur? Why it can actually command other dinosaurs?¡± Haman asked Mankiw, wanting to know more information. Haman could not understand many of the questions in the past, it was because of insufficient information. Now that someone finally knew, he naturally had to ask more questions. Mankiw glanced at him and said. ¡°The city has always wanted to find a way to deal with dinosaurs, and crossbreeding is one of them.¡± Hearing this, Haman understood. ¡°Do you mean this little dinosaur was crossbred and could control other dinosaurs, but it could not be controlled, so it escaped?¡± Mankiw looked at him in surprise. He didn¡¯t think that Haman could figure out so many things with just one sentence. ¡°Yes, this dinosaur controlled all the dinosaurs in the laboratory and started a riot, taking the opportunity to escape.¡± ¡°Then your security measures are too poor since it escaped when it was locked.¡± Haman was speechless. Mankiw was silent for a moment, then said, ¡°In fact, we didn¡¯t know that it could command other dinosaurs until this dinosaur escape.¡± Haman still didn¡¯t understand how these people did. Even that old man Chuck was able to keep a captured dinosaur as a pet. At worst, they could just let it bleed. If they bled more, any dinosaurs would become weak. Chuck could even raise that dinosaur as a dog every day, not to mention escaping, ¡°Alright, let¡¯s not talk about this.¡± Haman didn¡¯t want to waste any more time. Then he said, ¡°Let¡¯s make a plan first and see how we can separate them.¡± As long as they could be separated, the whole mission would be very easy to complete. Haman picked up a stone from the ground and drew a map on the wall of the cave. This was the map of Mount Roman in Haman¡¯s mind. Haman pointed at a corner of the map and said. ¡°This is the lair of the hylaeosaurus.¡± After saying that, he pointed to another place. ¡°This is where we are, and the entrance of the tunnel is in the middle.¡± Haman had lived in the wilderness for so many years, and he had never lost his way. As long as it was a place Haman passed by, he could draw a map. ¡°First, we have to determine how to separate the hylaeosauruss from the small dinosaur,¡± Haman asked the first question. ¡°To achieve this goal, we have to find a way to stop the hylaeosauruss from listening to the orders of the small dinosaur.¡± Mankiw shook his head and said, ¡°In fact, these hylaeosauruss are willing to follow the orders of the small dinosaur. And they can do so unless it dies.¡± Mankiw wanted to say more, but Harold could only stand there without saying anything. Haman had no doubt that if Mankiw let Harold Die, Harold would definitely do it. However, it was too difficult for him to make a suggestion. ¡°The hylaeosauruss will disobey the orders of the small dinosaur only when it¡¯s a matter of life and death¡¡±Haman repeated this sentence. The current situation was that the little dinosaur had been staying with the hylaeosaurus. If the hylaeosaurus was in danger, the little dinosaur might already be dead, and there was no need to separate. Since that was the case, the hylaeosaurus must not feel any danger. Besides, other than that bomb, there was nothing else that could make the hylaeosaurus feel danger. A large group of hylaeosauruss was basically invincible on Mount Roman. The cave was getting darker, and the glow stick in Mankiw¡¯s hand was about to go out. They had been troubled by this problem for a long time. ¡°Crack.¡± Mankiw lit up another glow stick. There was light in the cave again. This light not only lit up the cave but also seemed to inspired Haman. ¡°I got it!¡± Haman stood up and walked around the cave. ¡°Got it.¡± Haman took the glow stick from Mankiw and lit up the map of Mount Roman on the wall. ¡°This is the nest of the hylaeosauruss,¡± Haman pointed at the map and said to the two of them. ¡°There is only one species of hylaeosauruss in the entire Mount Roman. There are nearly 200 hylaeosauruss.¡± ¡°But on that day, only 60 hylaeosauruss were chasing us. What does this mean?¡± Harold was stunned for a moment and said, ¡°It means that the other hylaeosauruss is dead?¡± Haman threw the glow stick in his hand at Harold¡¯s head. ¡°Dead? There are more than 100 hylaeosauruss, not rats. What could kill so many hylaeosauruss on Mount Roman?¡± Harold didn¡¯t dare to say anything after being hit. He could only obediently pick up the glow stick and hand it to him. ¡°Does that mean that the remaining 100 hylaeosauruss are gathered in their nest?¡± Mankiw asked tentatively. ¡°That¡¯s right,¡± Haman agreed. ¡°The remaining hylaeosauruss is the breakthrough point.¡± ¡°As long as we can use the lives of these hylaeosauruss to threaten those hylaeosauruss, then the hylaeosauruss will definitely run over to save these hylaeosauruss. No matter how the little dinosaurs command them, it¡¯ll be useless!¡± Haman said firmly. ¡°That¡¯s right!¡± Harold quickly agreed. Suddenly, Harold was hit on the head again. This time, it was Mankiw who hit him. Chapter 38 Harold was hit on the head again, but he could only keep quiet about this. And he only silently squatted at the side. Mankiw slowly asked, ¡°Even if we can use the lives of those hylaeosauruss to threaten the other hylaeosauruss.¡± ¡°Can¡¯t that Little Dinosaur Come with us?¡± ¡°Of course not!¡± Haman said firmly. This thought simply overturned Mankiw¡¯s common sense. . Originally, they were not even a match for more than 60 hylaeosauruss. Now, how will they actually want to use more than 100 hylaeosauruss to threaten that 60 hylaeosauruss? It was simply very strange. But Mankiw did not pay attention to this problem. Since they had chosen Haman to make the plan, they had to believe in his ability. If that 60 hylaeosauruss came back to rescue them, why couldn¡¯t the Little Dinosaur Come Back? After accepting the threat, Mankiw realized that there was something wrong with the plan. After all, what they wanted to do was to make the hylaeosauruss not listen to the little dinosaur¡¯s orders. However, why couldn¡¯t the little dinosaur let the hylaeosauruss come to rescue it when faced with such a situation. Haman looked so confident as he said, ¡°Then the little dinosaur will definitely not let the hylaeosaurus come to the rescue.¡± ¡°Because, as long as the hylaeosaurus comes, the little dinosaur will die.¡± At this point, Mankiw suddenly understood. ¡°You mean¡ if we use the bomb to blow up the hylaeosaurus nest. At this time, the little dinosaur will definitely not come.¡± ¡°That¡¯s right because as long as it comes, it will die.¡± Haman continued, ¡°And those hylaeosauruss will definitely come because that is their home.¡± ¡°Good Idea, let¡¯s do it.¡± Harold, who was squatting on the ground, jumped up and said loudly. This time, no one suspected him. ¡°If that¡¯s the case¡¡±Mankiw said halfway and hesitated, ¡°Let me go and place the bomb.¡± No, this plan was not perfect. There was no perfect plan in this world. There was one person who wanted to take the bomb and blow up the nest of hylaeosaurus. It was almost impossible for this person to escape. The bomb could destroy all the dinosaurs within 100 meters. None of the three of them could survive. Although the following words were very cruel, Haman had to tell them. ¡°No, the only one who can plant the bomb is Harrod.¡± Haman¡¯s voice became softer and softer. When Mankiw heard this, his face turned red, and he was ready to make a move. However, he was stopped by Harrod. Mankiw glanced at him and sighed helplessly. How could he not know that only Harold could plant the bomb? Although the little dinosaur was less than a meter long, it was faster than Haman. If Mankiw planted the bomb, they had to wait till the next chance or never finish the task. And as a guide, they would not be able to return to the town from Mount Roman without Haman. Thus, only Harrod could complete this mission. ¡°Captain, I am a rough fellow. I don¡¯t have many cultures. Even if I die, I¡¯ll have to regret.¡± Harrod¡¯s face was beaming with a bright smile, without a trace of sadness. After saying that, Harrod took out the dinosaur marrow bomb from Mankiw¡¯s backpack. He felt a needle-like sense of crisis pierced into his scalp. However, he didn¡¯t Dodge this time. Harold could face hundreds of hylaeosauruss as an ordinary person. Why could he dodge? ¡ After making the plan, the three of them ate and drank, then they set off separately. The Red Sun had just risen in front of them, and it was another morning. Mankiw was the only one among the three who could run faster than the hylaeosauruss. Now his task was to lure the hylaeosaurus out with the small dinosaurs. And Haman and Harrod¡¯s task was to bring Harrod safely into the hylaeosaurus nest. And find a safe place until the bomb completely exploded. At the same time, Haman had to lure the hylaeosaurus chasing Mankiw over after that. So that they could complete the plan. The three of them drank water for a wine under the Red Sun in the early morning. They drank it in one gulp. Then they went their separate ways. As they went, Harold would die without a doubt. Haman and Mankiw might not be able to survive safely. Besides, Harold, Haman and Mankiw were all travelling light. They didn¡¯t carry anything except guns and bullets. Haman didn¡¯t turn into a dinosaur. After he turned into a dinosaur, he was only two meters long. And he would be slow after he carried Harold. Before the real battle began, they couldn¡¯t waste any energy. ¡°Haman, do you know?¡± Harold said as he walked, ¡°I actually envy you.¡± Although Harold was talking to Haman, in fact, Haman didn¡¯t need to answer at all. ¡°It¡¯s a great fortune for me to be able to awaken and become a mutant.¡± ¡°At the beginning, I was just a gangster. After I was beaten up by the captain, I signed up for the Army.¡± ¡°The goal of joining the army was to beat up the captain.¡± ¡°But I didn¡¯t expect that the captain suddenly became a mutant.¡± ¡°At that time, I knew that I would never be able to catch up with him.¡± ¡°But I was unwilling and could only train hard.¡± ¡°But those people said that I didn¡¯t have the talent to become a mutated human.¡± ¡°I will never become a mutated human.¡± ¡°But that¡¯s also good. The captain is a very pure person.¡± ¡°He trained harder than me, even if he becomes a mutated human.¡± ¡°I asked him why he was so hard.¡± ¡°Captain told me that he worked so hard for the sake of the future.¡± As Harold told his story, he was very calm, as if he was telling a story about someone else. Seeing this soldier who was able to face death calmly, Haman felt a little emotional. Suddenly, he understood him. He understood why he was willing to sacrifice his life in the hope of ending the apocalypse. This unlucky world made everyone a little abnormal. Haman once wondered what kind of person he would be if he lived in a peaceful era. He even thought that he might choose to become a repairman. He would help others fix things that were broken. However, at that time, Haman quickly gave up the idea. At that time, he didn¡¯t even have enough food to eat, so he didn¡¯t have the mood to daydream. This bastard¡¯s place even deprived him of the right to daydream. How could there be the number one hunter in the market town as long as people could live! Looking in the direction of the market town, Haman found that there were still people waiting for him to return. He couldn¡¯t become a person of glory world, but maybe Holly could. Maybe he could have wiped out all the dinosaurs and made Holly a person in the flourishing age. Chapter 39 Mount Roman was not very big. Even if the cave they were hiding was on the edge of romance mountain, they were now close to the nest of hylaeosaurus. As they arrived here, Haman and the others could be careful as they moved forward. After applying the green ointment that Haman had brought, the two hid in a pile of green and yellow grass. Holding their breath, they tried to minimize the chance of being discovered. They only had one chance, and they had to succeed. . Not long after, Haman heard the roar of the hylaeosaurus. There was a special roar among them. It was the little dinosaur giving orders to them. Haman knew that it was the right time. Now Mankiw had lured some of the hylaeosaurus out. Now was the best time. Haman and Harold covered themselves with the grass cream. And they moved slowly through the grass. Harold had some field training. However, in this case, it was just useless. Haman looked at the hylaeosauruss in the nest. Most of the hylaeosauruss in the nest were underage. Some of them were old hylaeosauruss who could not move flexibly. Other than the old hylaeosauruss, the rest were less than six meters long. They were all small dragons. However, the more than 40 old hylaeosauruss were the most important ones to pay attention to. Although they couldn¡¯t even defeat the underage hylaeosauruss now. However, they had lived in the wilderness all their lives. And they were far superior to the underage hylaeosauruss in terms of experience or alertness. Haman kept thinking and calculated the location of the hylaeosauruss in his mind. Then a virtual map appeared in his mind. There were hundreds of hylaeosauruss constantly moving on it. Soon, Haman found a way to reach their nest. This method of calculation consumed Haman a lot. He only advanced five minutes in less than 200 meters. But he had to stop to rest. He was lying in the grass and breathing hard while Harold was on watch. Looking at the monster close at hand, Harold could not help but tremble. This was not something that courage could change. This was an instinctive reaction in the face of an enemy that could not be dealt with. After a few minutes of rest, Haman rolled over and got up. He looked around. The surrounding hylaeosauruss didn¡¯t seem to be fully awake. They were sleepy except for some of the older hylaeosauruss that were already on alert. Most of the hylaeosauruss are still lying back on the ground. A few were drinking from the water source on the edge of the nest. Haman and Harold slowly moved away from the water source. It was undoubtedly one of the most prominent places. Harold was carrying a backpack with a bomb inside. In order not to affect Haman¡¯s crisis alert. The bomb was still in the backpack. After half an hour, Haman finally found a safe place. It was near the center of the nest, a pile of stones. It was about 20 meters high. It was all made of big stones. Normally, it should be a place for the young hylaeosauruss to play. Now, it was the best place for them to hide. Hiding in the rock pile, Haman told Harold to stay there quietly. Haman quietly poked his head out and observed the situation around him. There was a cloud of smoke rising outside the nest of the hylaeosauruss. It was the hylaeosauruss that were chasing Mankiw. Mankiw was supposed to lure the hylaeosauruss away for an hour. After that, he would lure them back to the nest. Forty minutes had passed. Haman still had to find a way to attract the attention of the hylaeosauruss. So that they would come to the nest. After checking around, Haman pulled his head back into the stone pile. The cave was very crowded at the moment. Haman and Harold were almost like beans in a can. However, neither of them spoke in this situation. One of them was about to die. The other was a man who didn¡¯t know if he could survive. Ever since Haman had promised Mankiw, he had temporarily ignored his life and death. Haman was a man who was afraid of death. But sometimes, the more scared you were, the faster you would die. Everyone was afraid of death, but only a man could overcome his fear in a critical moment. Then they could live to the end. He was silently counting the time in his heart. In fact, Haman didn¡¯t need to count at all. When Mankiw lured the Dragons over. That kind of huge movement couldn¡¯t be covered up. As time passed by. Haman seemed to have returned to the wilderness. It was the time he had to wait for long for prey. But the situation now was even more critical than that time. This time, it wasn¡¯t a Parvicursor that was going to step into the trap. But it was a large group of hylaeosauruss that were more than ten meters long. Taking a deep breath, Haman forced himself to remain calm. Gradually, the Earth began to shake slightly. Haman thought that the hylaeosauruss in the dragon nest was gradually waking up. But as the shaking grew stronger, Haman knew. The Dragons were back. He suppressed the nervousness in his heart. Haman turned over and went out of the cave. Like a monkey, he quickly climbed to the top of the stone pile. He then held the gun on his back in his hand. To be honest, Haman didn¡¯t know how to use this thing. He didn¡¯t even fire a shot along the way. But it didn¡¯t matter. Now Haman was surrounded by enemies, and it didn¡¯t matter if he fired a shot randomly. Next to the stone pile was the center of the Dragon¡¯s nest. There were all the unhatched dragon eggs. Because the eggs had to be hatched by the sun. Those eggs were just open-air in the center of the nest. There was a circle of old hylaeosauruss around. Soon, Harold climbed up with his backpack. An unknown dinosaur led a group of hylaeosauruss to the nest. The hylaeosauruss in the nest were not all awake yet. Seeing Mankiw leading the group of dragons to the nest. Haman raised the gun in his hand. He fired at the dragon eggs in the center of the nest. The clattering sound. The clear sound of gunfire was heard. Along with the sound of gunfire came. The bullets were glowing red. After the bullets were fired, they flew toward the dragon eggs. Haman was not good at shooting. But now Haman was less than 50 meters away from the dragon eggs. And there were 500 or 600 of them. As long as Haman didn¡¯t shoot blindly. He could always hit some of them. The bullets hit the eggs. The hard shells only stop the bullets for a short time. And then they were destroyed. The yolks of the eggs are spilt all over the ground. The hylaeosauruss, who are rushing toward the nest. They saw this scene. Their eyes turned red instantly. And they roared. It was not until this moment that the hylaeosauruss in their nest realized that two humans had appeared there. Chapter 40 At that moment, the entire dragon¡¯s nest was in an uproar. The human who had broken in. He was now destroying the dragon eggs. Those dragon eggs were about to become their descendants, or brothers and sisters. But now, it was impossible. Because the human who had broken in had turned them all into pieces.. Those dragon eggs were supposed to be dragon whelps. Now it was impossible. The old and young hylaeosauruss in the nest were rushing toward the rocks. There were only about a hundred dinosaurs. But they were too huge. They made the scene look like a sea of dragons. Those hylaeosauruss were the surging waves. And they charged toward Haman like a large wave. But Haman still didn¡¯t stop. If he stopped now, that hylaeosauruss outside would rush in. The hylaeosauruss outside had gone crazy now. Because those dragon eggs were their children. And the small dinosaur didn¡¯t stop at this time. Instead, it kept screaming on the back of the hylaeosaurus leader. It directed the hylaeosaurus to charge into the nest. Haman shot at the nest while looking at the group of dragons outside. At this time, Mankiw moved. He disappeared right in front of the group of dragons. But at this time, no dragon noticed him. All the hylaeosauruss were rushing toward Haman. Seeing the hylaeosauruss getting closer and closer. Haman gave Harold a kick. Harold immediately took out the dinosaur marrow bomb from his backpack. The moment the bomb appeared. Haman felt the danger again, like being pinched by a needle. At the same time, it was not only Haman who felt the danger. Those dinosaurs felt it too. Except for Haman, everyone could feel the danger from the dragon nest bomb. However, although the hylaeosauruss felt the danger, None of them retreated. Because they knew that if they didn¡¯t stop the two humans. The eggs would be completely destroyed. And at this time, the little dinosaur also felt the danger. It was enough to kill it completely. At this time, the little dinosaur was commanding the hylaeosauruss to charge towards the nest. It became a real scream. Then it kept urging the hylaeosaurus leader to retreat. But now, the hylaeosaurus Leader¡¯s eyes were red. How could he still listen to the command? Although the little dinosaur kept screaming on the hylaeosaurus Leader¡¯s back. The hylaeosaurus leader still didn¡¯t stop. It kept rushing toward the place where the sense of danger spread. When the small dinosaur saw this, it was completely panicked. It hurriedly jumped off the back of the hylaeosaurus leader. Relying on its faster speed than the hylaeosaurus. It kept running and jumping in the group of dragons. Then it immediately escaped from the group of dragons. When Haman saw the small dinosaur disappear. He knew that the time had come. He threw the gun in his hand directly at the group of dragons. The steel gun was instantly torn to shreds by the angry hylaeosauruss. Looking at the hylaeosauruss that had run under the rocks. Haman glanced at Harold. It was time for them to say goodbye. But it was too late. He couldn¡¯t say anything. The only thing Haman could turn into now was a compsognathus. But under the circumstances. Even if he turned into a compsognathus, There was no way he could escape. The hylaeosauruss had surrounded the nest. Before Haman could turn into a bird now. There was no way he could escape. But when Haman swallowed for the first time. He chose to be a Compsognathus instead of a flying dinosaur. And then, an unknown dinosaur with a baby in its mouth from somewhere¡ And it ran over the heads of the hylaeosauruss. That was Mankiw. This was the best situation. Mankiw caught the baby dinosaur in the shortest time possible. And he even had time to rescue Haman and the others. Fortunately, Haman didn¡¯t have to die. And Harold didn¡¯t have to die either. Mankiw was six meters long. Even he had the baby dinosaur in his mouth. With Haman and Harold on the back, he didn¡¯t slow down. And Mankiw was faster than the hylaeosaurus. He could get them out of here. Mankiw turned into an unknown dinosaur, like a bolt of lightning¡ He tore apart the sea of the hylaeosaurus¡ And rushed to Haman. If Mankiw hadn¡¯t caught the baby so fast¡ Then Haman would have to escape on his own. And Harold would have had no hope of survival. He would have had to take the bomb and die with the hylaeosauruss. But Mankiw didn¡¯t let them down. Similarly, Haman and Harold completed their task. The moment Mankiw arrived in front of them. Haman used his strong physique. He threw Harold onto Mankiw¡¯s back. Then, he also landed on Mankiw¡¯s back with a strong leap. More than half of the mission was now completed. The only thing left was to rush out of the group of dinosaurs in front of him. Haman had destroyed more than half of the dinosaur eggs in a short time. Now, the hatred of this hylaeosauruss was all on Haman. Even Mankiw, who had stepped over their heads. And Harold, who had a bomb in his hand, completely ignored them. But now, Haman was on Mankiw¡¯s back. They couldn¡¯t go out as they had just come in. It was quite impossible. The hylaeosauruss were all paying attention to Mankiw. To be more precise, they were paying attention to Haman, who was on Mankiw¡¯s back. ¡°Run that way!¡± Haman pointed to the center of the dinosaur nest. That was the place where the eldest, weak, and disabled dinosaurs gathered. It was also the only place they could rush out of. After Mankiw heard Haman¡¯s words. He ran toward the center of the dinosaur nest without hesitation. ¡°Give it to me,¡± Haman said and snatched the dinosaur marrow bomb from Harold¡¯s hand. Now Mankiw was still standing on the top of the pile of stones. The pile of stones was more than 20 meters tall, and Mankiw was four meters tall. Now Haman was almost 30 meters tall. Haman leaned back as if he had drawn a big bow. He was full of energy. ¡°Ah!¡± Haman shouted. He threw the dinosaur marrow bomb in his hand. It was aimed at the hylaeosauruss who were attacking from the outside. The dinosaur marrow bomb only had a three-second delay. In this short three seconds. Haman threw the bomb over 100 meters. After Haman threw the bomb, Mankiw began to run under him. The speed was something Haman had never experienced before. It was as fast as lightning. In the blink of an eye, he rushed down the pile of stones. He ran toward the weakest point of the encirclement. If he met an old hylaeosaurus, he had to avoid them. If he met a young hylaeosaurus that was four or five meters long. Mankiw would squeeze through them. He even used the bodies of the young hylaeosauruss as a shield. Just then, the dinosaur marrow bomb finally began its mission. All the sounds between heaven and earth suddenly disappeared. All was silent. The hylaeosauruss were roaring furiously. They had all become silent fools with their mouth opened.
