 1 Ye Feng Tian death -prologue-

    In the inner most campus of the worlds most elite military base camp facility, there was a young child less than fifteen lying on the ground, bleeding uncontrollably.


    Another older woman sat arrogantly on the head military chair, she was enjoying the sight of the young child''s bleeding heart, her face twisted up of a whole bunch of emotions.


    From hatred, anger, to satisfaction.


    "Ye Feng Tian, oh Ye Feng Tian, look at you! Your hearts bleeding so much! Why don''t you call your precious army to save you?" The woman spoke mockingly.


    That woman arrogantly speaking to the child on the floor was none other then Ye Feng Tain''s step sister, and the child on the floor was none other than Ye Feng Tain herself.


    "Ha! I should have known that you would havenever wanted me to live in glory, dear older sister, tell me, have I ever mistreated you or your mother?" Ye Feng Tain asked.


    She then continued on to say,


    "No. I haven''t but what is my outcome? It''s so laughable to think that I gave you command over 75% of my Ye Ying army! So this was your plot after all...how absolutely dumb of me. To trust an ingrate like you, but oh well, you know what?! You will forever be in my shadow! You think you can live after the Ye Ying army finds out the truth of my death?


    With that Ye Xin De paled silently, she hadn''t thought of that aspect yet, and now that she realised it she desperately regretted what she had done.


    She quickly shouted out, not realising she had fallen into the last trap that Ye Feng Tain has set for her.


    How could Ye Feng Tian let her plan succeed?


    Thus she took her last breath, and ended her life.


    And right after that the 100 million loyal Ye Ying soldiers rushed in, and at that critical moment they realised that their precious leader was forever gone!@@

 2 Reborn into ancient times?

    As the light engulfed Ye Feng Tian, strangely, she felt no pain. She could feel that her consciousness was slowly fading, and she knew this was her pitiful ending.


    But just as she was ready to accept her fate, she heard a faint voice whisper to her.


    "So, the chosen one is just going to die like that?" It was a male voice, it was deep but actually soothing.


    But Ye Feng Tain was confused, what did that mean? She wasdead and she knew that anything could happen to her right now, but she never expected to randomly just hear a voice.


    She then slowly felt that her consciousness was slowly returning, to the point where she could actually open up her eyes.


    As she did she awakened to a sight that confused her.


    It was an ancient Chinese room that was fairly simple, it had interesting Japanese elements mixed into it as well and that''s when Ye Feng Tian realised that she was alive!


    But how could this be? She died, a painful one at that, so why would she be alive, and be alive in this strange place?


    Just as she was asking her own questions internally, she noticed a man about fifty walk in.


    He had grey hair despite being in his early fifties and had weary eyes, however they held some strange warm gaze that Ye Feng Tian had never seen before in anyone she was close with.


    He walked carefully to her bed before sighing in a breath of relief.


    He then gently scolded her.


    "Tian''er, you truly need to be more concerned about your health! You can''t just do that, I know you love the crown prince, but he doesn''t love you, and even if he did, he would not marry you for political reasons, so please promise father that you will never hurt yourself for that man, okay?" Although he had a pair of scolding and stern eyes, Ye Feng Tian could still hear the shaking in his voice and his sad gaze.


    She didn''t know who this ''father'' is, she was an orphan since young, and had been adopted by her stepsister''s father, and that father had died early on.


    She also never interacted much with anyone except her stepmother and stepsister, and of course her Ye Ying army, so she was very isolated to the world, the rest of the nation only knew her as the legendary warrior that was not to be trespassed with.


    So who could thisman possibly be?


    "Who are you, where am I, and how do you know my name?" She asked suspiciously, her tone unexpectedly incredibly cold.


    Her ''father'' currently sitting on the side of her bed, was given quite a shock. He hadn''t expected that his daughter would ever be able to use such a cold and demanding tone, as well as the fact that she had amnesia!


    "I am your father Ye Shen Fei, and you have a mother calledYu Heng and a sister called Ye Ge Xin. And lastly a adopted brother called Ye Zhen. " he replied calmly, even though he suffered quite the shock earlier, he still quickly composed himself.


    From this, Ye Feng Tian could tell that this man was a great general. Along side this, she deducted that she had been reincarnated like those in books and novels that she had occasionally read and strangely enough, her new name was also Ye Feng Tian, but that made it all the easier.


    She then, by habit, replied with her usual reply.


    "Un." And with that she turned around on the bed and shut her eyes.


    Ye Shen Feiwas greatly shocked, he thought that his daughter would immediately start crying and then go chase after the crown prince but surprisingly she seemed to have become a whole new person.


    But then again, don''t they say that when one has experienced near death, they would change for the better? Also, maybe having amnesia temporarily wasn''t so bad, after all, at least this will calm her for a while.


    Ye Shen Fei sighed and then left the room before taking one last glance at Ye Feng Tian''s small face before leaving.


    But immediately after Ye Shen Fei closed the doors shut, Ye Feng Tian''s eyes abruptly opened.


    She quickly observed her surroundings, a bronze looking thing, seems to be a mirror, old wooden ancient furnishings, Japanese katanas, and various jade pots and urns.


    En. This is indeed an ancient Chinese room, just why is there a Japanese Katana?


    And if She isapparently the daughter of a general, then why would shebe chasing after a stupid crown prince when she could be doing much more productive things?


    Ah, so many questions. But Ye Feng Tian was tired, and the only thing on her mind now was sleep. Laying on her abnormally soft pillow, she slowly dazed off into her dream lands...

 3 Breaking off the engagemen

    A week passed and Ye Feng Tain has stayed in her room the whole time, only ever eating or sleeping.


    And finally she regained some of her strength back. Although she knew that this body''s condition wasn''t the best, but she could tell that it had immense talent. She was however quite confused with why she still looked the same after reincarnation. Usually shouldn''t she look different or even become a whole new person?


    So why was she an exception? And she also was confused with her surroundings, somehow everything looked familiar to her, but she didn''t have any memories in this place.


    Suddenly a knock was heard and a maid entered.


    She reported that today she would have a maid bring her into the hall where she would meet her fianc¨¦.


    The thing that Ye Feng Tian least wanted to do was meet this fianc¨¦ of hers, and now her family just had to bring him to her...


    She sighed, nodding her head she got dressed and hoped out of bed, not bothering to do her hair, she just let it flow freely down her back.


    "En. I will go." She replied the maid, seeing the shocked face of the maid, Ye Feng Tian was confused.


    Why was she looking at her like she was some sort of monster?


    The maid snapped back to reality after hearing her miss''s words, she quickly bowed before leading the way to the hall. No matter how strange her Miss was acting, at least this way her Miss was a lot more calmer than usual, this was good, thought the maid.


    After walking about five minutes, Ye Feng Tain finally arrived at the hall, she bowed towards her grandfather and fatherbefore taking a seat.


    She didn''t even spare her step mother a glance.


    Her step mother looked baffled, she was immensely shocked that timid daughter wasn''t even bothering to spare her a glance, if it wasn''t for the crown prince currently being here, she would have shouted at her for her Miss conduct.


    Seeingtheir mothers obvious anger, the rest of Ye Feng Tian''s step sisters snickered at her.


    Seems they were worried for nothing, their youngest sister was still as timid and dense as before.


    The crown prince however was highly amused. He had known that this youngest Miss of the Ye family was engaged to him, and he also knew she was incredibly infatuated with him, but he felt that somehow she was very different to the rumours.


    What shocked him the most was her peerless appearance. That appearance was capable for the ruin of countries even with a veil on and messy hair. Leaving only her big and round crystal eyes out, they were unusually clear. He felt that even the prettiest lady out there couldn''t compare to this Ye family''s youngest Miss.


    She was also unknown to him, slowly observing the other party.


    Other worldly appearance, aloof and cold smile, strong martial arts, high standing, powerful and influential, Ye Feng Tain could see clearly why the previous owner would chase this prince so crazily.


    But Ye Feng Tain Just couldn''t bring herself to like this aloof prince. He was someone she didn''t want in her life, she already wasted her 13 years of life chasing after him, she didn''t want to waste more on this person.


    She shifted her gaze to her half sisters. She didn''t know their names and personality''s, but she could roughly tell what type of person they were. She also realised that her adopted brother was no where to be seen. Perhaps he didn''t need to come since this didn''t involve him.


    She didn''t bother to observe her Step mothersreaction. She never bothered to visit her during the time she sick, so why should she care for this step mother.


    Even now she showed no concern for her health, only angry at her for ''ignoring'' her.


    Finally Ye Chen Fu couldn''t take the silence anymore as she proceeded to introduce her daughters to the crown prince, completely disregarding the fact that the crown prince already was engaged to one of the concubines daughters.


    However Ye Feng Tain was thankful for her step mothers decision to introduce her sister to the crown prince.


    With this she would know more about this ''family'' of hers.


    She proceeded with her favourite daughter, the oldest daughter, Ye Yu Chen.


    She praised this daughter to the sky with her words, but the prince, however remained aloof and cold.


    Seeing this Ye Feng Tian''s step mother moved onto her other daughter, when she finally reached Ye Feng Tian she paused before snorting loudly, introducing her.


    "This is the Ye family''s youngest daughter, Ye Feng Tian. Her mother died when she was young so she is a bit timid and has a weak constitution. Please excuse this ones daughter as she is ill and cannot think straight about her feelings for the prestigious Crown Prince, she was just ill previously and she now doesn''t like his highness the crown prince and wishes to break of the engagement." with those clever words Ye Chen Fu sounded amicable and cleverly broke off the engagement with no room for discussion.


    Ye Feng Tian''s father was shocked. He was surprised that his first wife would say something like that! He greatly cared for his youngest daughter and he always knew that Ye Chen Fu didn''t like her, but he never knew that she would interject into her marriage like that!


    Just as he was about to interject, his father spoke out first.


    If it most be known, the true decision maker in this house was Ye Zhen Xian the father of Ye Feng Tain''s father.


    "If Fu''er says so then so be it, I hope the crown prince will do as this old one says." The old and retired general Ye Zhen Xian spoke. Despite his laid off words, the hidden meaning was clear.


    ''Cancel the engagement and choose someone else.''


    And although this wasn''t Ye Chen Fu''s original idea she was still happy that Ye Feng Tian''s engagement will be canceled.


    The crown prince agreed, nodding his head he replied the old general xian.


    "If that is old generals wish, then this crown prince shall do exactly that." With that he left no room for further discussion.


    He left with his cohort before glancing slightly at Ye Feng Tian''s reaction briefly, only to find the other party noticing his gaze.


    Brief surprise flashed past his eyes before he reverted to his usual aloof and cold look before leaving.


    And as he left, Ye Feng Tian sighed a breath of relief.


    ''Finally, thanks to my step mother and grandfather, I can finally enjoy my new life with no worries.'' Ye Feng Tian thought, little did she know that destiny didn''t exactly have that planned for her.

 4 Ye family’s dilemma

    As Ye Feng Tian was about to stand up and walk out of the room, she was suddenly called out by one of her sisters.


    "Ye Feng Tian, how about you and me pay a visit to the our military base, you should know that with Ye family''s predicament we need to help however way we can, handing out pastries and food to the tired soldiers could at least release some of their stress." Ye Yu Chen asked kindly.


    Her Grandfather nodded, and said "Yu Chen that is indeed a thoughtful idea, Feng Tian you should go."


    "Ok, sure." Ye Feng Tian replied softly, her voice wasn''t very loud to begin with, but heavens knew that she was blessed with a stunning voice.


    When she replied, Ye Yu Chen smiled, she had long gotten used to her youngest sister''s beautiful voice that could make any man fall for her.


    "Thank you sister, should we all go now?" Ye Yu Chen asked, turning to face her other sister Ye Chen Xue.


    As the other party politely refused, Ye Feng Tian was thinking of what her sister meant by ''with Ye family''s predicament.''


    She found it stranger that a military family would be in whatever predicament it is in, in her past life, military households where very respected, now that she thought about it, it made her remember the betrayal of her own family she had protected for years. She shook her head internally, she needed to forget her past and move on, there was no hope for revenge anyways.


    Although this unexpected news made her realisethat this family was a lot more complicated than she had first guessed. But she wanted to know more about this family and if she wasn''t wrong, she should be able to make a guess on what sort of predicament it was in, and if it was serious.


    And this trip would also give her more knowledge on this world and where exactly was she in ancient China and what dynasty she was in.


    With those thoughts in mind, Ye Feng Tian walked out of the hall with Ye Yu Chen and sat into a carriage.


    After about only ten minutes in the carriage , she already found out about half of the information she needed as of now, the reason?


    Ye Yu Chen. She would talk to her for the whole time, occasionally speaking about herself and the crown prince, which didn''t bother her at all but knowing her previous self, she decided to just tell Ye Yu Chen that she has amnesia, which isn''t really a lie since she doesn''t remember anything that happened 13 years before.


    But Ye Yu Chen didn''t seem surprised as she instead nodded her head in understanding and said that she already knew.


    That was probably one of the reasons why she wasn''t that shocked to her reaction when the engagement was broken off.


    Soon the carriage stopped and the driver announced that they had arrived on the Northeast border of the kingdom she was currently in, which was Wang Kingdom.


    When Ye Feng Tian stepped out of the carriage the scene that greeted her was shocking. That was a scene of an army that had been greatly wounded after war. These types of scenes were uncommon for Ye Feng Tian since her army had never suffered loses under her guidance, but that didn''t mean she hadn''t seen one before. Like when she first took over her step fathers army, it had looked almost exactly like the scene in front of her.


    Suffering and wounded soldiers, low moral or absolutely none at all. Weak and tired soldiers, and even angry ones. seeing that sight greatly pained Ye Feng as it reminded her of the one thing she had left, her Ye Ying army.


    Seeing the dark expression on Ye Feng Tian Ye Yu Chen was confused, but she thought perhaps the young girl was disturbed upon seeing this scene. She sighed before explaining,


    "I''m sorry that I didn''t tell you earlier the actual condition of the Ye family''s army. Since you have amnesia, I will explain this to you. A about a week ago one of the four biggest families in Wang kingdom betrayed the Emperor and allied themselves with the other kingdom bordering Wang Kingdom which is the Dong kingdom. Now there is a huge war and as one of the most powerful military family, we had to protect this border, however some how our weapons were all destroyed the day before the battle began..." her voice trailed off after that, but even without her finishing the rest of the story, Ye Feng Tian could guess what happened next.


    And indeed she was particularly correct. This meant that not only was she super unlucky to have been reincarnated at a time her family was in his state, but she also felt sad. Sad that she seemed to not be able to escape the military.


    But it wasn''t necessarily all that bad. As Ye Yu Chen barley startedhanding out the food to the tired soldiers, Ye Feng Tian had already handed out the whole 1000 meals and was standing among the shadows, concealing her presence.


    She was pondering deeply for a while before she suddenly heard her step sisters voice Calling for her.


    "Where were you Feng Tian? You just disappeared...anyways we should go back now, it''s getting dark."

 5 Killing is a crime

    Ye Feng Tian followed Ye Yu Chen to the carriage and the both got ready to depart the northeast border.


    However, only thirty minutes into the carriage did something shocking happen. The location they were currently in was abnormally remote, it was too far from the border but also abnormally far from the capital which the two sisters should have already arrived at by now.


    But Ye Feng Tain pretended that she didn''t know anything, she curiously asked Ye Yu Chen,


    "Sister? Why are we in a abandoned road in the middle of no where? Shouldn''t we have arrived at the bustling streets of the capital by now?"


    Ye Yu Chen however, has a calm looking face. When she heard her beautiful sister''s voice filled with confusion, she smiled.


    "You really are as dumb and weak as I thought you were. But it''s too late. After your dead, next will be that annoying brother of ours, oh wait, I meant ''adopted brother.''"


    After she uttered those words in a low tone, suddenly 20 hidden assassins appeared into plain sight, carrying sharp swords, they


    proceeded to towards the small carriage. Their aim was quite obviously to kill the people in the carriage.


    Suddenly, Ye Feng Tian jumped out of the carriage in inhuman speed.


    Doing a front flip in mid air and landing on the ground in mere seconds, none of the assassins noticed her presence as she suddenly sneaked behind one of them and stabbed them with a dagger in their heart.


    When the other now 19 assassins finally noticed that someone from that carriage was missing, it was already too late.


    Before they could rush to attack the goddess looking girl who had surprisingly killed one of their comrades, they all one by one fell to the floor, dead.


    It took merely ten seconds before all nineteen of the assassins were dead. They didn''t even know how they died and who killed them, all they felt was a split second of sharp pain in their hearts before they dropped to the floor and stopped breathing.


    After killing all 20 of the highly classedS rank assassins , which almost no human has ever done before, Ye Feng Tian wasn''t stained with blood at all, not a single drop.


    Slowly, she walked back to the carriage where she saw the highly pale and shocked Ye Yu Chen staring at her like she was some kind of demon, while the carriage driver had already fainted from the sight.


    She slowly leaned into her sisters ear so that only she could hear her.


    "Sister, killing is a crime."


    Her sisters eyes were mortified as only she knew the true extent of this monsters power.


    She knew that those assassins where S ranked and highly proficient in killing their targets, yet Ye Feng Tian took less then 10 seconds to kill all 20?!


    That kind of heaven defying power was something that even gods should be afraid of, nonetheless her own pitiful self.


    After witnessing that unforgettable scene, Ye Yu Chen knew that she was going to die in this place, but before she could even surrender herself, that chilling voice suddenly whispered words only she could hear.


    "Surrender yourself to me and I''ll spare your life, for now." Ye Feng Tian whispered quietly, that soft voice was so enchanting but yet, it sounded demonic to Ye Yu Chen, just like a curse.


    Ye Yu Chen nodded her head furiously, knowing that even if she was unwilling, what else could she do?


    Those demonic powers, that was something she was sure that even if the whole kingdom attacked, no one would be able to even touch her.


    She was so wrong to have dug this grave for herself, but no one was to blame except her malicious heart.


    If the one today inside thatcarriage wasn''t the current Ye Feng Tian, then who would die and who would end up surviving, Ye Yu Chen knew in her heart clearly.


    Ye Feng Tian ignored the look on her sisters face as she walked to the now petrified driver.


    "You saw none of that. You will not tell anyone of what you saw, and if you do..." Ye Feng Tian''sbeautiful eyes went colder,


    "Then say goodbye to your life." With that Ye Feng Tian stepped onto the carriage lightly.


    Looking completely submissive and timid like before, being as beautiful and enchanting. If it wasn''t because the two people inside the carriage hadn''t witnessed the actual scene of murder, well then even they wouldn''t believe that such a beautiful and innocent goddess looking little girl, was such a demonic


    creature...no devil.


    Pretending as nothing had happened, the driver proceeded to nod furiously to himself that none of this would be uttered to a single person, or else his small life would not be able to be kept! After that he proceeded to drive as normal, but the terrified look in his eyes didn''t diminish in the slightest.


    Ye Yu Chen also swore that not even her mother could know of this devil''spower, if she did tell her though, well then she could say bye to her now pitiful life. Pretending like nothing happened Ye Yu Chen carefully told Ye Feng Tian about everything she knew about the residence, the Imperial family, and her household, and she kept apologising, swearing that her loyalty lied with Ye Feng Tian and that she would tell her everything she knew to her.


    Ye Feng Tian nodded silently.


    As if a massacre didn''t just happen, the carriage proceeded on the right path towards the capital.


    Suddenly a question popped into Ye Feng Tian''s mind as she asked suddenly,


    "Ye Ye Chen. Say, why did you want to kill our adopted brother?" She tilted her head, her big and roundinnocent eyes looked at her questioningly, for some reason Ye Yu Chen gulped silently.


    She was praying that the answer wouldn''t kill her, but at the same time she hoped that this devil wouldrelease her soon, even if she was too cute and enchantingly beautiful too be afraid of, she knew that behind that adorable and timid face that could cause ruin to any man and destroy kingdoms was a cold and emotionlessly murderous girl who had heaven defying abilities.


    On that day, the nickname ''Devil Angel'' for Ye Feng Tian was born and little did she know that in the future, this nickname would become her alias to success.

 6 Brother Ye Zhen

    At last the small carriage arrived at the entrance of the Ye manor. The two sisters stepped out of the carriage carefully. Seeing the calm but also innocent look on Ye Feng Tian, Ye Yu Chen silently gulped.


    She was once again reminded of the scene she witnessed, she wished nothing but to hurry back to her room but at last her wishes didn''t come true.


    Ye Feng Tian had asked her before that she needed to report on her behalf to her mother and say that she was too tired to pay respects.


    And although Ye Yu Chen had wanted to scold her sister that doing that would make her mother angry, she decided against it. That Devil in disguise was not someone she had the courage to remind not to say even scold.


    Walking back with a false facade of calm, she walked slowly inwards toward the Ye Manor. Following her sister, Ye Feng Tian timidly walked behind her.


    But the driver was still sitting there, stilled. Did he just witness a devil pretending to be an angel and actually fooling everyone?!


    He shook his head, he forced himself to calm down before heading off to the servant headquarters. He didn''t want to lose his small life because of his stupid urge of gossiping.


    When they reached not even five minutes of entering the manor, the two sisters encountered a certain someone.


    That man was tall and had amuscular build. But the most shocking thing was his devastating handsome face that could cause ruin to any woman in the world, but suppressing that beauty was his icy chilling aura that, unlike the crown prince who had a more cold but also royal aura, he had an unbelievable cold and powerful aura.


    Ye Feng Tian wasn''t really fazed by his aura, that aura was indeed something a veteran general should have, except she was a bit surprised that a person this powerful would be so young.


    If only Ye Yu Chen had heard Ye Feng Tian''s thought, she would have screamed. If she thought that young man was a veteran general then wouldn''t that make Ye Feng Tian a demon general?!


    Ye Yu Chen coughed slightly to ease the tension, she calmly introduced the man.


    "This young man is our adopted brother, Ye Zhen. Brother Ye Zhen, this is your youngest sister, Ye Feng Tian."


    After the brief introduction, Ye Zhen stared at the young girl curiously, this girl was staring at his eyes devoid of any emotions, her eyes seemed to be timid on the surface but beneath that he could see that she was actually emotionlessly cold.


    What he also noticed was that this girl was calmly facing him with a stunning appearance that even he would admit was too beautiful to exist. Strange. A girl that wasn''t actually afraid of him.


    But he could also faintly smell a scent he was highly familiar with, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.


    Ye Feng Tian was also taken aback. This man was her rumoured adopted brother. Ye Yu Chen had told her that even she didn''t know much about his dangerous man, she had only met him once, and that was before he left for the border for all this time.


    And for the reason she wanted to kill him? Well, Ye Yu Chen didn''t have any personal grudge against him, but what she feared the most was the power behind him. Ye Yu Chen also has a older brother who could be considered unlikable and arrogant, completely useless and unliked in the Ye family.


    But still he was her brother so she had to protect his position of heir to the Ye family and the only way to do that was to kill of Ye Zhen.


    Ye Feng Tian was slowly observing the other party. She truly hoped that this man wouldn''t come and find any trouble with her, she had just wanted a peaceful new life away form the military and army, but if this man became one of her enemies, well that would truly be pitiful and a waste of his talent.


    She timidly nodded her head and she reached out to her Ye Yu Chen''s sleeve, timidly she whispered,


    "Sister Yu Chen, can I go back....I''m tired.." she asked softly, it was only soft enough for one person to hear, but with Ye Zhen''s martial art ability, hearing that was easy.


    What shocked him again was that this devastating beauty had actually possessed such a beautiful voice.


    But it seemed that this seemingly innocent little bunny wasn''t so innocent. As he farewelled the two ladies, he walked past Ye Feng Tain.


    In that split second he knew that his suspicions where correct, this little bunny wasn''t as innocent as it seemed, interesting....a sudden devilishly handsome smile appeared on his lips.


    Little didYe Feng Tain know, she had made a careless mistake.


    *.Somewhere in Ye Manor.*


    "Rei Min. Investigate what exactly happen when Ye Feng Tian left with Ye Yu Chen to the North East border." His devilish smile deepened at the thought of that girl. All his hidden subordinates silently shivered.


    "Yes, Master!"


    Who could make their demon emperor smile so devilishly like that? They shook their head and silently started to investigate. They all knew not to delay that persons orders as they swiftly gathered the information they would need.


    Back in Ye Manor, In Ye Feng Tian''s bedroom.


    Ye Feng Tian was lazily laying on her bed, her face that could destroy nationscould be seen clearly without the veil covering it.


    Her purple eyes were deep in thought and no one could tell what exactly she was think about.


    Eventually she got up and called out to her servant.


    "Xiao Fei, do you know where I can make some money?" She asked her very, very shocked looking maid.


    Her maid was staring at Ye Feng Tian''s stunning other worldly face, her mind swirling as she couldn''t believe that her Miss was being so obedient and adorable. In the past, her Miss was really different, and really shy. Xiao Fei had felt pity for her Miss, thinking that it was such a waste that her beautiful Miss was born from a concubine, and that she had to suffer being constantly belittled and labeled as ''useless''.


    But now ever since her Miss woke up from hercoma, she had changed significantly. Although the changes where small, she as her personal maid still noticed it.


    She got up and wiped her eyes before composing herself. ''How embarrassing'' Xiao Fei thought, she was the personal maid yet she was crying over something like this!


    Ye Feng Tian was really confused. First her maid was apologising to her, next her maid would cry. Ye Feng Tian wondered if her maid was really scared of her.


    Suddenly from her embrace that little maidms head popped up and asked curiously while sniffing.


    "Miss, you still haven''t answered why you want to make money...*sniff*."


    ''Oh'' Ye Feng Tain has just realised that she was in the ancient times. Woman usually wouldn''t need to make money, especially when she was apart of such a wealthy family.


    She nodded her head in understanding, looking abnormally cute while explaining patiently.


    "I need money if I am going to build a strong backing for myself in the future, and money is the key way to start establishing my source of power." After she finished explaining she couldn''t be bothered with her maid''s expression anymore. She silently stood up and dusted her clothes.


    "Xiao Fei, prepare some male clothes for me, I''m heading out."


    Xiao Fei looked dumbstruck. Was this person in front of her even her Miss? She stared shocked at her miss''s peerless face.


    She thought silently, ''what''s the point of dressing as a male? Your face is so beautiful that anyone can tell that your definitely not male.''


    But before she could snap back to reality on her own, she heard a sudden mysterious chilly voice.


    "So your disobeying my orders again?" Ye Feng Tain stared at her maid. She reminded herself that she needed smarter people by her side from now on.


    "No miss! I will go get them for you right now!" Xiao Fei was scared witless, what was wrong with her Miss? She was so kind and gentle before....


    Meanwhile Ye Feng Tian didn''t think she had done anything wrong. She was just using her commanding general voice like before.


    After about five minutes Xiao Fei came running back with a pair of male clothes.


    They were mostly black with silver embroideries and a few silver silk strands on the sides creating a thin looking belt.


    Silently Ye Feng Tian examines the clothes for a brief millisecond. After determining that the clothes were safe, she calmly grabbed the clothes and told her maid to leave the room.


    Xiao Fei was surprised but she didn''t want to be scolded again, leaving obediently she closed the bedroom doors.


    After knowing that Xiao Fei had left, Y Feng bandaged her chest, but on her clothes, and used some simple makeup in the room to make her features more masculine. Now that she had finished her dress up. She tied her long hair up in a pony tail, standing in front of the mirror she glance at her reflection before stepping out of the room.


    Standing in a straight posture, Ye Feng Tain has a cold but also deep look in her crystal clear eyes. No one could understand those eyes of hers, they were just to black and to deep but also mysteriously clear and bright.


    She walked up to her maid, Xiao Fei.


    "What''s wrong?" Ye Feng Tain asked in her maid who looked like she was having a high fever with that completely red face. Even Ye Feng Tian''s voice was one like a young teenage male.


    Xiao Fei just simply could not reply, staring at that face that was a devastating beauty a second ago, and now glancing at it again, she found herself facing a young man that was so handsome that she was about to faint. That young man had a straight back, wasn''t very tall but that was neglected by the fact that his face was just...to handsome!


    Black ink like hair was tied up in a pony tail, with only a loss silver ribbon tying it up, and violet eyes that were so mysteriously attractive. In fact, if not for the fact that Xiao Fei knee that this was her devastatingly beautiful Miss, she would have jumped onto this young man...no Miss, and kissed her.


    Just thinking of this made her blush even harder, her small face looked like a tomato at that moment.


    Realising that her Miss was looking at her confused, she somehow managed to reply absentmindedly,


    "Miss, you should really wear a veil!" With that she ran out to the gates.


    Meanwhile Ye Feng Tian was confused once again. This maid of hers sure was weird.


    They soon got in a carriage and left, obviously the whole time Xiao Fei was blushing like crazy. Ye Feng Tian no longer bothered with her maid, getting off the carriage she walked out.


    But just as she was about to take a step forward, she noticed immediately that danger was near! She narrowed her eyes as she tilted her face back instantly, dogging the lightningspeed of that arrow.


    Catching it swiftly with one hand, Ye Feng Tian stared icily at two figures in black robes.


    Her eyes deep and mysterious, no one could tell if the chill in temperature was really from this young man''s abnormally calm and indecipherable gaze.


    "So. Care to explain?" She asked calmly, a hidden chill in her voice.

 8 Your Name?

    Ye Feng Tian stared icily at the two men in black robes. She glanced over tothe two men''s waists , where a well hidden badge was, her eyes narrowed slightly, but she quickly shifted her indecipherable gaze onto the tall and stalwart looking man. Finally, the man decided to answer her.


    "I''m sorry about that arrow just then, I was careless and didn''t see you exiting your carriage. Then when I realized what was happening, it was already too late, luckily you have great martial art skills and skill fully avoided my arrow, not only that but you caught it. I assure you that arrow was not for you buta thief I was chasing, but may I add that I''m deeply impressed by your skills, may I ask for this young master''s forgiveness."


    Ye Feng Tian faced the man. Expressionlessly, she replied, "of course I wouldn''t blame you, your highness."


    Walking up to man who was a head taller than her, she calmly handed the silver arrow to him, staring at his shocked face wordlessly.


    Suddenly a crisp and clear voice laughed out.


    It came from the youth standing next to the man with a silver bow in his hand, also the man who apologized just then. The youth had delicate and handsome features, but perhaps the thing that caught Ye Feng Tian''s attention was that his clothes were significantly better quality then the other man in black robes, and although these details were almost impossible to notice for others, Ye Feng Tian was careful to observe anyone she deemed ''interesting.'' Ye Feng Tian silently thought, ''this place sure isn''t simple, almost everyone and everything is a lot more complicated then I initially hoped it to be.''


    She faced the Youth and asked him curiously, "Why is your highness laughing?"


    Hearing this the Youth laughed even harder, but his eyes held no mirth. Afterwards the Youth with skin as fair as snow suddenly stopped laughing, his light and gentle voice rang out.


    "Say, how did you guess me and my brother''s identities so fast? I have never seen you in town before, you must be new right? Well, even then I have never seen someone as skilled as you are to actually be able to avoid my brother''s silver speed arrow and catch it as well!Such skill, may I ask what isyour name?"


    "Thank you your highness for such praise, and as for my name..."


    Ye Feng Tian stayed silent for a while, her eyes unreadable as she carefully observed the two people''s reactions. The youth was still smiling at her, while the tall and stalwart man was staring daggers at her with his dark, obsidian eyes.


    She thought for a while, before answering vaguely, "your highness'' can call me Ye Feng."

    After the two left Ye Feng Tian turned around, immediately her eyes turned deeper like the ocean. Although still clear as glass, those violet eyes were unfathomably mysterious.


    Facing her petrified but also confused maid, Xiao Fei. Ye Feng Tian reached out a hand to her, suggesting to help her poor maid out of the carriage. To her surprise her maid seemed suddenly full of energy as she dashed out of the carriage, her face red as a tomato.


    Ye Feng Tian was confused but she nonetheless had long accepted her weird maid''s antics. Stepping out of the carriage, Ye Feng Tian, in less then one second already caught up to her maid. Her speed was truly terrifying. As she strolled around the market place towards her destination, she kept feeling stares from almost everyone around the streets.


    Ye Feng Tian looked perplexed as she turned around and stared at her maid who still had a very red face.


    "Xiao Fei, do you know why everyone is sick with the fever today?" she asked her tomato faced maid.


    Hearing her master ask her such a question Xiao Fei really wanted too...bang her head against a wall!


    ''Miss can you please not look at me like that?! My young maiden heart can''t take this anymore, how can anyone be this...dense and handsome at the same time?!'' Xiao Fei internally cried. Facing her miss'' density, she really couldn''t blame her. After all, Ye Feng Tian was timid since her mother passed away, never leaving the Ye household for anything, except recently. Xiao Fei after some internal debating, finally calmed down.


    That''s when she realized that the women and girls around were all staring daggers at her! Xiao Fei felt so wronged. It really wasn''t he fault that her miss was this handsome when disguised as a man!


    Xiao Fei tried to distract herself as she suddenly recalled something that she found strange.

If Ye Feng Tian didn''t remember incorrectly, this was the famed Qing house of medical herbs and plants. According to Ye Yu Chen, this was the most famous medical store in the entire Wang Kingdom.


    Ye Feng Tian observed the ancient store. Slowly, she walked in with her maid.


    *Deep in the Imperial palace.*


    "Fifth brother, what do you think about that Ye Feng person that we met, for all we know he could be a spy, and if it wasn''t for him, would we even lose to that thief we were catching?" A stalwart and tall man asked a youth beside him.


    The Youth turned around, with a simile on his face, his eyes holding no mirth, he said in a strangelycold voice, "hm? Investigate him."

 9 The Devils force

    "Do You have these herbs? The Lilac star, the white lily, the black rose and earth kelp?" Ye Feng Tian asked the cashier. While the middle aged cashier nodded dazedly, Ye Feng Tian suddenly took out a whole bag of silver ingots. Putting them on the counter, she asked casually, "How much are the herbs?"


    The surrounding crowd that was watching suddenly felt perplexed by this godly handsome youth. ''Did he know that those herbs were only worth a couple coppers, and this boy just brought out a whole bag of silver!'' the surrounding merchants were eyeing the young ''handsome'' youth with his bag of silver jealously. Nodding in understanding, Ye Feng instead took out a handful of coppers and asked if those were enough. Laughing, the cashier nodded his headand accepted the copper coins while packing up the herbs for the handsome youth in front of him.Grabbing the herbs in one hand, Ye Feng grabbed her maid''s hand and swiftly left the store. In a blink of an eye, the two were gone.


    Some of the surrounding young maidens were feeling depressed. They all wondered the same thing, ''where did our precious cold prince charming go?''


    Unknown to Ye Feng Tian, the nickname ''cold prince charming'' had already spread far within the circle of rich noble girls.


    It was already sunset and Ye Feng Tian and Xiao Fei had traveled to all the famous places in the entire capital city of Wang Kingdom, buying all kinds of things. Herbs, weapons, even food and other miscellaneous things . Xiao Fei also wondered, ''where did her miss even get all this money to buy these things?'' but she nonetheless kept her mouth shut.     Finally the two had arrived at an abandoned orphanage. Xiao Fei stared puzzled, opening her mouth, she was suddenly stunned at what she saw.

    "These are herbs to heal your wounds," she pointed at the herbs then to the food and water, "you guys can eat and drink these freely." She said, expressionlessly. Her eyes scanned the crowd of children, in a mere second she had already assessed all the skills of the ten or more orphans. Nodding her head, she stood up and asked, "who is in charge here?"


    Suddenly a tall and stoic looking girl stood up, her voice was suspicious as she asked the handsome young man in front of her, "I am. I doubt someone like you would just casually help a bunch of poor orphans like us. So tell me, what do you really want from us?" as she said this the other eleven orphans suddenly also broke out of their entranced state and stared suspiciously at Ye Feng Tian.


    Ye Feng Tian expected this much, but to her surprise when she was just about to answer the stoic girl, Xiao Fei suddenly butted in. "Imprudent! Don''t you know your place? How could you speak to my young-"before she could finish, however, Ye Feng Tian cut her off.


    Facing the stoic looking girl, she explained, "to make you my army. You can call it, the devil''s force."

 10 Midnight meetup?

    The Stoic looking girl was shocked. Not because she thought what she heard was surprising, but because she never thought someone would come here, of all places, to create an army? But by the look on the handsome young man''s face, she knew he was dead serious. She looked at the person in front of her again,she suddenly realized that this person was very attractive. No, not just attractive, this person, who had showed up out no where and gave them hope like they had never known, was in fact, so god damn handsome! She felt her cheeks heat up. Shacking her head, the faint blush on her cheeks made her stoic facade before look pitiful. Ye Feng walked to ''his'' maid, staring at her with clear eyes for five seconds, ''he'' decided.


    "Xiao Fei you can accompany these orphans and treat their wounds. After a week I want to see them in perfect conditions. I''m leaving now." She ordered her maid which had just snapped out of her trance. Xiao Fei was still entranced by her master''s five second gaze before her trance was instantly snapped by his words. As if she felt the literal devil had ordered her, she nodded her head timidly. After seeing her reaction, Ye Feng Tian wasted no time and disappeared in a split second.


    She jumped onto the barely standing wall on the side, and jumped over soundlessly. Landing firmly, she quickly ran towards the Ye mansion. In the silence of the night, there was a shadow silently dashing towards the Ye mansion unnoticed by all.


    *Meanwhile somewhere in Ye mansion.*


    A man was standing with his back facing the desk. His tall and muscular back glimmered under the moonlight as he excluded a bone-chilling icy aura. He asked with a voice that could seduce any woman, "so, how was the research?"


    His subordinate was kneeling down respectfully, with his head lowered down he reported with a stoic tone, "these are the results, may Master please take a look." With that the subordinate handed the file to the man, instantly, he disappeared into the shadows of the room. The man suddenly turned around, with his face clearly seen by the moonlight, it revealed a shockingly handsome man. This man wasn''t just handsome, his face was like it was perfectly sculpted by the gods. It was just too good looking that it was hard to imagine such a perfect face even existed. With a demon like smile, his face was devilish as he read the content on the file. Suddenly his smile vanished, with a gaze as dark as as the void, he voiced out icily, "It seems we have a visitor in Ye manor."


    "But Master is it even possible that someone is capable enough to sneak through the dark squad guarding the Mansion?" one of Ye Zhen''s subordinate''s asked.


    Suddenly realizing that the room had dropped a few degrees in temperature, he immediately had cold sweat down his back as he shut his mouth.Ye Zhen had a cold expression on his face as he surveyed the surroundings, "I sense no killing intent. A thief? No, a thief this skilled wouldn''t be seeking to steal anything here, so who could this person be?" Ye Zhen asked devilishly, as if this was a game of guessing he silently left the room.


    Ye Feng Tian had just arrived at her room when she suddenly felt a presence heading towards her! Quickly hiding her self behind the wardrobe, she wiped of her make up, revealing her peerless beautiful face. She quickly sneaked a dress, without looking at what it was, she swiftly changed out of her male clothes and stored them in a drawer. Coming out of the shadows undetected, she faced a tall and domineering man head on! That handsome face that she was facing was no doubt, her adopted brother of the Ye Family, Ye Zhen.


    Ye Zhen abruptly stopped when he saw Ye Feng Tian. In her pure white dress, she stood there like a goddess. Her clear and big violet eyes glistened under the moonlight, her ink black hair swayed slightly under the midnight wind. Ye Zhen had seen countless beauties titled the most beautiful in the world, but he had never seen anyone as stunning as Ye Feng Tian. What surprised him more was that this time around, her eyes didn''t hide her facade of timidness and innocence, instead her beautiful violet eyes were as clear as glass but as indecipherable as the deep dark ocean.     Smiling devilishly, Ye Zhen remembered the content on the investigation report he had received. He had realized that the timid and innocent youngest miss of the Ye household was actually a prodigy among geniuses. Her skill and talent in martial arts was something Ye Zhen had never seen before, when he read the report of the investigation he had set out earlier, he almost couldn''t believe what he was reading, that''s when he recalled that the first time he met the little beauty, she had the faint smell of blood on her. He knew clearly the skill one would need to kill ten S rank assassins in less then ten seconds.Suddenly Ye Zhen felt a feeling in his heart that he never knew. Before he could even stop himself from advancing, he had already started walking towards the small bunny that wasn''t as innocent as it seemed.


    But just as he was about to reach her, she suddenly backed away from him. In mere seconds, she was meters away from Ye Zhen. She asked coldly, "Big brother, what do you think your doing?"

 11 The plot thickens - 1

    "I-" Ye Zhen paused. What was he doing? Why did he feel the impulse to walk towards the girl? If she was really a assassin capable of killing S rank ones, then just then, could he have died? On what account did he actually know her? His thoughts were spinning wildly, his eyes murky dark. He walked a few steps back.


    "I sensed a person that infiltrated the He mansion, I guess that person was you, huh?" He asked Ye Feng Tain, with a slight smirk.


    She looked at him with unreadable eyes. She shook her head. "What are you talking about, brother Zhen? I was having a hard time sleeping so I decided to go out to get some fresh air." She calmly made up an excuse for her appearance here. She knew this man in front of her was dangerous, and she didn''t want to face head on with this person. She would deny everything he accused her of, even if she knew that he had already investigated what happened back when those assassins where killed by her.


    He smiled. That smile was sinister but also devilish, like a demon that had just crawled out of hell. It seemed that his eyes were saying, ''you can''t lie to a wolf like me, bunny.''


    Ye Feng Tian didn''t care much about his aura, but perhaps that was a careless mistake of hers. She suddenly had a realisation that she forgot to put up her facade. But she was tired. She had many things to do, this was a new life after all, she wanted to live freely, and safely.


    Determined, she hoped onto her bed and said lightly, "well, there isn''t anyone in my room, so you can leave now, brother Zhen." Her eyes weren''t seen by Ye Zhen this time as he was busy admiring the bunny''s stunning face. Sort of tranced he moved away from the room slightly. In a deep voice he bid farewell, his mind full of thoughts.


    Ye FengTian sighed a breath of relief when she knew that he was gone.


    That was a close call. But this encounter wasn''t just for show, she knew that.     Her father started by announcing news.


    "As you kids all know, our family had someone from the inside leek out the information on where our weapons were stored. And thenleading our enemy to steal them right from our noses! After some investigation we have concluded that the most suspicious person would be servant Han, and this after some interrogation, he has admitted that he was the one who leaked the information. Now, our family can rest assured that our army will be safe and the betrayer has been exiled." When Ye Shen Fei was talking he was mainly focused on the matriarch (Ye Feng Tian''s Grandfather) and Ye Zhen.


    This raised some brows from Ye Feng Tian. She didn''t really know much on the situation at the border, but her gut was telling her that things weren''t as simple as her father made it out to be, but she didn''t bother with it. After all, woman in the ancient Chinese era weren''t qualified to speak of political and military based things.


    And this military and army business had nothing to do with her...she was a new person now, no one would force her to join the army like before...no one would ever betray her as long as she kept her distance... she was free now, so why did she feel empty? Like something in her wasn''t right? Was it because she doesn''t have any memories from this life, or something else...


    As FengTian was lost in her thoughts, the matriarch has already started announcing some ''trivial'' matters. Finally, he started talking in a more serious tone.

    The next moment Ye Feng Tian was already silently in the shadows of her room as she observed keenly on the servant currently ravaging through her things.


    ''Tsk. So these people actually had the nerve to do this right after the meeting in the hall? Can''t they be smarter and not do it when their target could be observing them?'' Ye FengTian silently thought that these people''s intellect weren''t the sharpest, no wonder they needed someone like Ye Zhen to hold the border, her other half brother must be unskilled.


    The middle aged servant had finally finished. She turned around arrogantly, as if sneakinginto the master''s room and being suspicious was something beneath her. It was as if the servant thought that she was in charge. The servant snickered as she silently crept to the back door and slipped out, never noticing the percipient violet eyes watching her from the shadows.


    Ye FengTian made sure the servant was gone before stepping out. She got to the side of the bed and found that underneath was a small drawer. It was well hidden and secure, a highly inconspicuous but also obvious place to hide stuff. For the owner, this drawer was something they would never notice as it was on a slight angle and the bed was above it, furthermore the curtains were covering half the drawer, plus the wood made it camouflaged within the rest of the bed frame.


    Ye Feng Tian carefully opened the drawer, it had what she expected to have. It was a voodoo doll with the red letters, ''Ye Chen Xue'' on it. She wasn''t all that surprised, these tricks were really old fashioned though. She was a general so obviously she wouldn''t really know much about schemes, however these people''s intellect wasn''t very high now was it?


    Didn''t take much effort to figure out who did this, but first she wanted to find that servant.


    Ye Feng Tian securely put the voodoo doll up Her sleeve, the needles sticking in them didn''t even touch her skin as she effortlessly hid the voodoo doll perfectly.


    Walking out, she once again disappeared into the shadows and silently followed that servant. Luckily that servant was haughty and quite slow. She would walk around and chat idly at work and then finally after a while she walked towards a courtyard that was well secluded.


    It was actually Ye Chen Xue''s. She walked in and instantly her haughty behaviour changed into one of fear but respect. She walked swiftly inside, glancing around here and there for any signs of followers, but although she saw none, she could sense the cage feeling that someone was watching her.


    She slipped into the courtroom and then she kneeled in front of a female girl in a chair. The young girl had a beautiful blue sky robes on and a delicate face like the pure spring. It one looked at her, they would never think someone as pure like her could cook up such a vicious scheme.


    She asked the servant kneeling with an angelic voice, "How was it?"


    The servant kneeling only trembled slightly when she heard the angelic voice. The arrogant servant form beforeknew all to well the true face of her master, but shivered at the thought.


    She mustered up the courage and said confidently, "the job''s done. Miss can rest assured that Daoist Wen Xuan will be coming in tomorrow."


    The young and angelic looking girl smiled, but instead of a pure and innocent smile like one would expect to see, there was a sinister light to it.


    She laughed a little coldly before quietly saying, "if only that little sister of mine was born less beautiful, maybe I could have spared her, alas, no one shall be more beautiful then me!"

 14 Backfired scheme -1

    The next morning everyone in Ye mansion was woken up by the sound of ringing bell. The soundwas peaceful and calm, bringing serenity to all.


    As people got up slowly and walked to the front gate, Ye FengTian did as well. She stretched her back and got out of bed. After dressing and washing up, she simply let her hair flow down her back, she didn''t really bother with her appearance. Nonetheless even without dressing up, she still looked flawlessly beautiful.


    Arriving at the gates, the members of Ye family were stunned. In front of them, standing in a monk custom and having a bald hair with beads in his hands, the man seemed peaceful and holy, like a worshiper of Buddha.


    In his right hand was a jade beaded bracelet, and in his left was a small bell like or object. The object was small and was made from a type of metal material, but it also had a peculiar golden arrow resting on top.


    Ye Feng Tian glanced expressionlessly at the arrow on top of the bell. Her eyes glinted with a cold light, but it soon disappeared, her eyes reverted back to ones of weakness and shyness. However, in the eyes of the matriarch he saw a timid and young beautiful girl who was looking nervously at the daoist. He narrowed his eyes when he saw his youngest granddaughter acting like that.


    He slightly coughed to ease the atmosphere before he gestured to the monk looking man. In a respectful tone he said, "this is Daoist Wen Xuan. I invited him to our mansion recently because of the event at the border, I feel ill at ease, so had thought to invite him over." The matriarch explained. He lead Taoist Wen Xuan into the mansion.


    Everyone agreed silently that the matriarch was thoughtful to invite a Taoist here. Some people were indeed ill at ease after the whole ordeal with servant Han''s betrayal.


    Before Taoist Wen Xuan stepped in his face suddenly contorted into visible awareness and discomfort. It was like he was scared and petrified by something that he found.


    He coughed lightly,noticing that everyone including the matriarch had stopped, he explained, "I sense something darkand evil lurking among this mansion. Earlier as I was conducting a purifying song with my purity bell, I had detected evilness somewhere. However, now I am sure that it is definitely inside the mansion." He had a kind and righteous face on as he talked, silently, Ye FengTian was impressed by this man''s acting skills.


    ''Too bad though, your leading your patron to ruin.'' Just as she thought this, she noticed that the man''s gaze had landed on her. Her eyes turned slightly cold, but her facade was still on. A timid and extra nervous girl was portrayed as she fiddled with her fingers under the questioning gazes the matriarch, her step mother, and even father and sisters threw at her.


    She noticed two gazes that were actually gazing at her pitifully, wait, no one was a dark gaze that seemed from the devil himself.


    As she had guessed,the cold and dark devil like gaze was from Ye Zhen who was behind her, and to her left was Ye Yu Chen Who was gazing at her pitifully but also sort of confused.


    She Ignored their gazes and continued acting nervously. This time she noticed that Wen Xuan was staring at her briefly with a very tranced look, but he also had hints of confusion in his gaze, like he didn''t expect that Ye FengTian would actually appear nervous and timid like that. She found that odd but she didn''t think much about it.


    But to outsiders like the matriarch, he only thought that the Taoist was looking at Ye FengTian because he found out something and it was linked to her. Most people also concluded that the Taoist was suspicious of Ye FengTian and was accusing her of something but was also afraid to hurt the nervous looking girl.


    Seeing this, Ye Chen Xue was actually nervous.Hatred fled into her heart as she glared furiously at that flawless face of her sister. ''We are all concubines! So why does your face have to be so peerless!'' The more she thought the more twisted her expression became. But nonetheless, years of restraint and etiquettelessons had paid use as her angelic face seemed to burst into tears anytime, making her face pitiful and innocent.


    However her nervous eyes weren''t missed by a certain someone, as his devil like aura rushed to wards Ye Chen Xue. Ye Chen Xue shivered slightly, but she was nervous but also determined to finish her peerless sister off! She was done forever feeling inferior to that appearance! Her hatred only became more obvious as she thought of a way to snap Taoist Wen Xuan out of his trance.


    She signalled slightly to the Taoist. For a few seconds the entrance hall was silent before the Taoist started coughing rapidly. Finally, after some time, he finally calmed down and said with his pale and frightened face.


    "I will conduct a thorough search of the Ye mansion, rest assured Great general Xian!" With that the Taoist started chanting rapidly a series of chants and words. Some where in audiable and some where understandable, with each passing chant he would sway his ''purity bell'' and keep chanting.


    Everyone had cold sweat on their backs as they listened to the Taoist chant some really awful stuff.


    Audible words like ''rid of the she-devil in this mansion'' was chanted ever so often. It sent chills down Ye Yu Chen''s back as she silently prayed that the Taoist wasn''t chanting about her. However he heart couldn''t ignore the nagging feeling that he was chanting about a certain devil. Her originally shivering back was even drenched in more cold sweat as she recalled the dead corpses of ten S rank assassins that she had hired. Her shivering abruptly stopped when a cold whisper beside her sounded out.


    It was Ye FengTian. She softly whispered coldly. ''Older sister Yu, why are you shivering?'' Her voice was a whisper that could only be seen and heard by Ye Yu Chen. Ye Yu Chen silently gulped as she involuntarily forced herself to stop shivering.


    Next Ye FengTian glanced icily at Ye Chen Xue, he so just happened to catch her hatred filled gaze.


    Ye FengTian, facing Ye Chen Xue''s hatred filled gaze. Her cold and expressionless face lost all its facade as a icily shiver went down Ye Chen Xue''s back. She looked back at the person she despised the most, blinked and then stared at her again. Her heart instantly refused to believe that the timid and nervous beauty in front of her had just sent such a cold shiver down her spine!


    Getting impatient, she signalled once again for Taoist Wen Xuan to hurry up.


    Finally after a few seconds, Taoist Xuan opened his eyes. His eyes were filled with righteousness but slight disgust as his gaze locked onto Ye FengTian.


    His gaze then shifted towards the direction of Ye FengTian''s courtyard!


    Declaring strongly to the matriarch and the rest of Ye family, he yelled firmly, "I confirm that the evil spirit energy I feel is definitely somewhere in this court hard!" He pointed his wrinkly fingers towards Ye FengTian''s courtyard.


    At that moment all hell was about to break loose as Ye Zhen felt that his murderous aura was about to break all limits. However when he remembered the cold gaze that Ye FengTian had shot at Ye Chen Xue, he felt relieved, sighing, he sounded amused as he laughed silently inside.


    At that moment the Matriarch could no longer hold his suspicions as he gazed slightly displeased at his granddaughter. Then he suddenly pointed at Ye FengTian''s courtyard as he ordered angrily, "search the whole courtyard! Don''t miss a single place!"

 15 Backfire Scheme -2

    ...


    Everyone faced the matriarch at the same time, their hearts all filled with different emotions. Ye FengTian couldn''t really care less, she didn''t have the spare energy to deal with these scheming relatives. It seemed no matter where she went, she would always be surrounded by people who where determined to end her life.


    This time however, she wouldn''t let anyone remotely close to her, ever backstab her again.


    On the contrary, Ye Chen Fu was delighted, just like her youngest daughter, she too had put in effort to kill of Ye FengTian which she deemed an eyesore.


    She hated that child the most, because she hated the fact that Ye FengTian was the daughter of another woman, not only that, but that woman was so beautiful, too beautiful in fact.


    And now her child was more beautiful then her own. She loathed looking at the woman''s child the most, but now...she laughed evilly inside, a twisted expression on her face, that bastard child was going to die at the hands of her daughter!


    The matriarch hadalready collapsed under all the building stress that had accumulated, he sat down uncomfortably on his wooden stool. His eyes were like a hawk, observing Ye FengTian''s every movement.


    Ye FengTian stayed still. She knew that the old man was suspicious of her, believing to choose a good actor of a Taoist then his own granddaughter, he wasn''t worthy of her acknowledgement, so she avoided his gaze, she put up a timid act again.


    Finally, after two hours of wasted time searching, the group of servants who searched Ye FengTian''s courtyard came out. They had nothing in their hands as they dutifully reported to the matriarch.


    "Reporting back, nothing out of the ordinary was found in youngest miss''s room!" The servant leading the group faced the matriarch, it was the matriarch''spersonal servant.


    The matriarch nodded but his face was confused, if Ye FengTian didn''t have anything unusual then what did that Taoist me¡ª, his thoughts where cut off when he noticed the Taoist''s guilty but also confused face.


    His heart instantly knew what was going on!


    But before he could express his rage, a angelic but hatred filled voice yelled out shrilly.


    "No! That''s impossible! H-how could¡ª" She clasped her mouth tightly with her hand, her eyes wide with shock as she realised what she had just carelessly blurred out. Her gaze scanned the room as it landed on Ye FengTian.


    She saw Ye FengTian with a cold glint in her eyes and a icy smile. She blinked again, only to be faced with a small but nervous looking girl.


    That girl suddenly opened her mouth to speak!


    "Sister Xue, are you alright? You look pale." Ye FengTian had suddenly spoke out. Her voice was so soft and beautiful, If would calm someone down instantly.


    Eh? Ye Chen Xue was at a loss. No! This couldn''t be..h-how did she see through her flawless plan? Was what she wanted to scream out, but under the pressure of the matriarch and multiple people, she suddenly looked pale as snow.


    But the matriarch was more focused on what Ye Chen Xue had carelessly blurted out before. His forehead wrinkled up when he recalled what she said. His mind now was left in a state of confusion and suspicion.


    "Xue''er, what do you mean...''how did this happen?" The matriarch blurted out. He was confused, but he wasn''t stupid.


    Living for all those years and seeing all those things, despite being a veteran general and fighting on the frontline, he still had the basic common sense and knowledge. So, obviously he could see that the things leading up where clearly someone''s scheme to frame his youngest granddaughter!


    Suddenly the Taoist Wen Xuan rang the bell again. Humming a small tune, he said like a real monk.


    "I sensed the evil wrong previously! I declare that this time the evil I sense is in this courtyard!" The Taoist pointed towards Ye Chen Xue''s courtyard.


    At that moment it was like Ye Chen Xue has lost all calm. Seething with rage, she pointed furiously at Wen Xuan.


    Screaming out like a shrew she exclaimed, "H-how could you! You old bastard! I payed money for you to come here and this is how you repay me?" Ye Chen Xue was shivering in anger, her eyes were basically on the verge of tears.


    She didn''t even properly register what she had just screamed out on impulse.


    This time it was Ye Chen Fu''s turn to be pale. She stared at her own daughter, trying to fathom how her plan could have failed.


    Before anyone could say anything more, Taoist Wen Xuan once again calmly explained with a tone of righteousness , "Young Miss of the Ye family, what ever are you talking about? It was the matriarch who invited me over, and I didn''t expect you to be as shameless to actually try to frame me for accepting bribes! But a search of your courtyard should prove that you are innocent, right?"


    In fact, Taoist Wen Xuan was panicky Insideas well, he didn''t really know what exactly he was doing, but he knew the moment that the matriarch send out people to search Ye Chen Xue''s courtyard, is the moment he will make a run for it!


    The matriarch was hesitating before deciding to send a bunch of servants to search the courtyard, his patience was really low now.


    Soon after a quick ten minutes search, one of the servants came back carrying a voodoo doll with nasty needles pricking on it. The voodoo doll, much to everyone''s surprise, had a beautiful stitching and with red thread that was sown into Ye FengTian''s name! All sound the her name was needles dripping with red paint and black paint on it, it Almost looked like Poison.


    Ye Chen Xue was now no longer shivering in anger but absolute terror, streams and streams of tears flowed down her angelic face, her eyes absolutely terrified.


    She glancedcowardly at the matriarch, only to be met with a stern, heavily disappointed gaze.


    Suddenly Ye Chen Fu screamed out,


    "Ye FengTian! You witch! You-you schemed against your own sister, didn''t you?! Or else why did you look so nervous when the servants were searching your courtyard? You must have been afraid of being found out for your despicable scheme!"


    Everyone turned their gazes onto the little beauty with glowing purple eyes, she looked nervous, but her voice held none of the ''supposed weakness'' she was expected to show.


    She calmly and almost icily explained herself.


    "Mother, I was nervous because last night, I happened to see sister Xue sewing something onto a doll like figure. It was dark so I didn''t want to stay out to late, but last night I kept having disturbing nightmares. It wasn''t until I saw Taoist Wen Xuan did all the dots connect in my head."


    Suddenly a physician came in out of nowhere. It was the physician that the matriarch entrusted to take of the household treatments and medicine.


    Old doctor Lu explained calmly, "This morning I had went to youngest Miss Ye''s courtyard as she happened to say she felt ill and sickly, I had examined her and she had indeed suddenly felt sick due to nightmares."


    Another servant, who Ye FengTian recognised as her personal servant, Xiao Fei, stepped out toadd onto the claim and explain that what Doctor Lu said was the truth, she was also carrying a soup of medicine on her tray.


    "This is the medicine that doctor Lu had prescribed and-" before Xiao Fei could continue, Ye Chen Fu and Ye Chen Xue were already in a puddle of tears.


    "Enough!" The matriarch cut off Xiao Fei.


    "I understand what''s happened. A member of our family was despicable enough to curse one of her own sisters, there is both evidence and an alibi. There is no need to further this issue with outsiders here, Taoist Wen Xuan, I believe your job is do-"


    That''s when everyone suddenly realised that Taoist Wen Xuan had already left. And although the matriarch thought that was strange, he was busy over the matter at hand.


    He announced disappointingly, "Ye Chen Xue! For such a scheme you will be punished heavily! I will send you to one of the mountain temples to reflect and study your inhuman actions." With that the matriarch left with clear disappointment and dissatisfaction on his old and wrinkled face.

 16 Ye Xiao Fei

    After the whole ordeal with Taoist Wen Xuan and Ye Chen Xue, Ye FengTian felt quite tired. She was mentally drained, her mind didn''t really like talking to people that much, and she definitely wasn''t a schemer, albeit her insanely high intellect she found human interaction tiring and most definitely draining. She really admired those relatives of her''s who, although arn''t the sharpest of minds, at least they have the heart to act upon their desire to scheme.


    She walked sluggishly to her courtyard which was quite secluded from the main household. With the whole scheme she had to make so many preparations and acts to successfully backfire those evil relatives, now she felt that she had perhaps made to many things for herself to handle.


    "Xiao Fei, hand this training list to all the orphans. Make sure that they don''t slack off in their training." Ye FengTian said expressionlessly. Her small figure instantly became straight when she started talking about the training, as if to warn her maid to make sure they truly don''t slack off.


    Her purple eyes seemed unreadable as she pondered for a moment before pulling out ten Papers from within her sleeves, it was a wonder how she managed to hide ten whole papers in her large sleeves, perhaps because her arms where too skinny?


    She handed them to Xiao Fei, who Ye FengTian realised, was blushing again. She put her small jade like hand on Xiao Fei''s forehead, a rare expression of worry on her usually emotionless and calm face.


    "If you are sick, I will care a physician for you." YeFengTian thought for a moment before nodding her head, "hmm. Physician Lu should do."


    Xiao Fei was already about to explode from her miss''s antics when suddenly her Miss had placed a hand on her forehead! She was not only shocked but she was stunned still. Next, her Miss even thought she was sick!


    Ah, Xiao Fei really wanted to tell her miss that being so dense to human feelings weren''t very good, but then the maid remembered how her Miss had single handedly schemed against Ye Chen Xue, thinking back to how Ye Chen Xue was currently in a carriage on her way to a temple, Xiao Fei In voluntarily shivered.


    Sigh, her Miss had really changed. For better or worse? She glanced up at that perfect beautiful face, she had honestly no idea.


    Meanwhile Ye FengTian was honestly concerned for her maid''s health. First her maid shivered, then she shook her head, and when she looked at the small girl she found that the girl was listless and tired looking.


    ''All signs of fever. Yes, she needs a doctor.''


    Ye FengTian silently thought. She decided,


    "If your so sick. I''ll handle supervising the training, and you can stand in for me." Ye FengTian softly advised. Her voice was so smooth and beautiful that paring it with her flawless face, one would think they were staring at a deity like goddess.


    Xiao Fei felt wronged but also she felt a bit naughty. Internally laughing cheekily, she wanted to experience what it was like to be a young Miss instead of a servant for once!


    Plus Xiao Fei was pretty sure that supervising training wasn''t really going to work out for her, especially if she had to make sure that they indeed do train. She had no idea why she trusted that her Miss could supervise better than her, it was just that, Xiao Fei had long noticed that since the miss woke up with amnesia, she always had this icy glint in her eyes.

    Ye FengTian nodded her head softly. Little did she know that her own maid was tricking her. Satisfied with her maids obedience Ye FengTian decided that her maid would switch places with her this night. She really couldn''t wait to start supervising a small squad again!


    Ye FengTian shook her head suddenly, why did she feel excited? She didn''t want to train people like in the military again, right? That was her past life, that doesn''t matter.


    This training isn''t related to the military or army, this was for future uses.


    Yes. Self protection uses. Ye FengTian sighed, she didn''t know why but ever since transmigrating into ''this'' Ye FengTian she felt weird, strange emotions always popped up. Although she didn''t know what those feelings where, she wasn''t used to them.     Xiao Fei was internally crying, she looked at herself through the bronze mirror, she knew that dressing up as her Miss would be impossible, but she never knew it would turn out to be this hard!


    No matter how hard Ye FengTian tried it was futile as the person reflected in the mirror was just simply not her.


    Nonetheless she came up with the idea to have Xiao Fei lay in bed and cover her face, she then had another maid ordered to guard the door at all cost, she told her that if anyone had to visit her during the time she was gone, the maid would say that her master was sick this week and was recuperating with doctor Lu''s help.


    After sorting it all out, ''Ye Feng'' silently slipped out of the manor and headed towards the orphanage.


    Author: "Sigh, those poor orphans, if your going to blame anyone for your upcoming hellish experience, blame Xiao Fei! Wait, no, it''s Ye Xiao Fei now."

 17 Epidemic of a fever?

    As Ye FengTian slowly stepped into the shadows she glided across them. Seemingly her presence was concealed, not a trace was seen as she observed the group of ten orphans.


    The oldest and stern looking girl was leading the group as they ate happily, a rare expression of joy on her stoic face.


    She ate as she said loudly, "hey I heard that apparently were going to start training soon!" She paused to swallow a few mouthful of rice before going on to say, "wonder what kind of training it''s going to be!" She excitedly spoke.


    Suddenly a boy on her right was slightly confused, he looked nervous as he asked suspiciously, "doesn''t anyone find it strange? Suddenly a stranger of a formidable background wants to help us weak and powerless orphans?"


    Another girl suddenly spoke out, she had pig tails as she a smile on her cute face bloomed, she lightly blushed as of remembering someone, she commented brightly,


    "No way! That handsome man wouldn''t do anything bad to us!" She smiled at the nervous boy, the nervous boy instantly frowned when he heard what the girl said.


    He kept quiet, picking and playing with his food with his chopsticks, pondering silently


    Suddenly a cold and icy voice sounded out from no where, a shadow of a figure appeared over the dining table of the orphans.


    Everyone was shocked as their eyes met up with a strikingly handsome man. His features where Devine and had hints of feminism but still looked heavenly, but the most attractive feature, his face was very small unlike other handsome men, his aura was cold and icy, like winter, yet it was strangely dark with hints of oppression.


    "It''s good to know that someone out of here has brains." Ye FengTian coldly spoke. She was glad that someone had the intellect here to actually be suspiciously this, for that she was actually quite satisfied with that boy. But, she was a Veteran General in the past, she brought her army to victory, she never forced anyone to follow her, those who wanted to stay, they could. Those that wanted to leave, just leave. So, she was very unused to and unfeeling even towards kids who complained about their conditions.Thinking back, the army seems to always be apart of her somehow. It seemed that she could never run from that fact, even if it was a cold part of her life.


    She snapped out of her thoughts. Silently she walked to the front of the dining table, facing all the stunned children she calmly spoke, her tone laced with ice.


    "If you don''t want to start training. Or even have a hint of my intentions. You may leave." The children all stared at her, some were terrified, some awed and some nervous.


    One brave child felt that his peers where all overreacting, his brain wasn''t the sharpest so he bluntly asked, "Okay, but what exactly are your intentions?"


    Ye FengTian didn''t seem fazed by this question. She relied emotionlessly.


    "To train you to be my personal force. Betrayal means death." She laid is out cleanly. Betrayal meant death, it was as simple as that. She could be tolerant to those distant family members, but not those who she would personally train.


    The room went silent. I few terrified boys and girls couldn''t stand her cold aura, they quivered and silently cold sweat covered their foreheads.


    "Alright. Based on my information you all have no surnames. I will give you one, from now on your names are all to start with Yin."


    Ye FengTian glanced emotionlessly at the children. Scanning the room, she continued on,


    "Right your name on this paper, your age. If you can''t write your name I will give you one and write it for you." She said coldly, she wasn''t really much of a speaker, especially to children. It was funny, when she died she was merely a teenager, but based on certain conditions, she was forced to grow and mature faster than those her age.


    The children looked at her, some of them had tears in their eyes and others where smiling at her.


    Ye FengTian had a rare second of emotion pop onto her face, her usually expressionless face actually displayed confusion as she stared at the orphans.


    She handed the paper to them all, regard less why these children where smiling or crying at her, Ye FengTian didn''t really care.


    ''She found it strange though, why was all the girls here also having a fever like Xiao Fei?'' Ye FengTian silently wondered as she glanced at


    their red faces.


    Just like what Ye FengTian did to Xiao Fei, she raised a hand to each of the girls foreheads and felt them all for a millisecond. The cool sensation all the teenage girls felt had lasted for only half a second, yet they were truly dying internally.


    Ye FengTian felt like there might be a fever or flu epidemic. Or else why would all the girls she had met so far be suffering from a high fever with red faces?


    But Ye FengTian had forgotten every time she met these ''sick'' girls, she was dressed as ''Ye Feng.''


    She said softly with a slight sigh, "I''ll bring some fever medicine for you girls later, first though I need to run through basic rules and schedular, okay?" She asked, her tone surprisingly soft, but still carried that icy air around it.


    At that moment even the boys started to second guess their sexuality...


    All the girls seemed like they would pass out after ''Ye Feng'' had spoke to them softly.


    That made Ye FengTian even more concerned for their health. Nonetheless she had come here today to complete a mission.


    Collecting the pieces of paper she mesmerised the names of all the students from when she was observing then write their names, which to her surprise they all knew how to write, Albert being orphans with no education they actually could write their names. It was impressive.


    After committing all the names to memory she started explaining the schedule and training regimen.


    She stared calmly with a her usual emotionless face that was devoid of any feeling. Her amethyst eyes gazed over the group of shocked teenagers, they all looked either sick or frightened.


    "We start training tomorrow, sleep early and wake up at 4am. Your allowed breakfast."


    She said emotionlessly and left. She didn''t look back, she was tired, she had used up all her mental energy speaking. Today alone, she had spoken more sentences than she would have normally said in the span of a year.


    ''Sigh, interacting with humans are so tiring...'' Ye FengTian thought, exhausted as she disappeared from the orphans in less than a second, slipping away as if she had never even been there, hiding among the shadows as she swiftly made her way back to the Ye mansion, all she could think of was her new fluffy bed that would await her at home...

    The next morning, after Ye FengTian had rested up properly, she had as normal, perfectly blended into the shadows and left swiftly out of the manor.


    At around 4pm sharp, she arrived at the entrance of the small wooden mansion. This mansion was a small estate in which Ye FengTian had purchased for the orphans to be taken care up properly. It had five courtyards each containing two rooms in which each room hosted an orphan. When Ye FengTian arrived she realised that the peaceful and quiet scenery was really calming. She wondered why she didn''t see anyone up yet.


    Ye FengTian soundlessly walked up to one of the orphans room and glanced at the bed. Upon seeing a child slightly older than twelve still sleeping soundly on it, Ye FengTian''s eyes turned icy.


    "I see. So they don''t like being obedient."


    She silently muttered, her voice bringing a cold chill to the child on the bed, although they didn''t wake up, they felt that they had just been through a chilly winter nightmare, somehow that child had a bad premonition that when he woke up things weren''t going to go well.


    Walking out the room soundlessly, Ye FengTian suddenly disappeared. In less than two seconds screams and shouts of teenage boys and girls where heard from the east and south wings of the small mansion.


    Some girls where screaming, "pervert!"


    The boys were wailing, claiming they were innocent.


    Soon enough everyone was out of bed and chaotic. Suddenly, as if a winter glacier had breezed by, the ten orphans all suddenly turned around at the same time to meet a handsome and tall figure of a boy.


    The children gulped silently as they stared at those penetrating icy amethyst coloured eyes.


    "Training starts at 4pm. It''s currently five minutes past four." Her voice matched her expressionless face as she continued on,


    "Punishment is no breakfast. 100 laps around the manor. Complete that on top of you''re training list." She ordered icily.


    All the children where so frightened their legs where shaking. Just as they were all about to start involuntarily start running laps as ordered, they heard the handsome Ye Feng speak out again.


    "Girls are dismissed. Here is the fever medicine. Rest until you feel better, then join the boys in training." With that Ye FengTian disappeared from her spot again leaving all the boys with their mouths wide and open. They stared incredulously at the blushing red girls.


    They all silently thought that this was so biased! How could their saviour be so dense and not see that the girls were acting?!


    Nonetheless they had a innate feeling that if they didn''t start running laps, they would suffer a life worst than death so all five boys started running laps.


    By the afternoon two of the boys had already collapsed under the heavy exercises and those who didn''t collapse where suffering so much that they rather be dead then do those exercises.


    And it wasn''t that they hadn''t tried to escape. It was that they couldn''t! Every time they did no matter how much will power they believed they had, they always felt so terrified every time they encountered those amethyst eyes staring at them like they were buried in snow.


    So eventually they all stopped trying to escape.


    One time a boy was fed up and suppressed the fear he felt and walked straight past the glacier wall in frontof him.


    But that boy never returned, instead all they heard was his pleas for mercy as he disappeared into the shadows only to reappear with sweat, tears and snot covering his face as he wailed and trembled uncontrollably.


    All the boys pitied him, but they knew better than to help or question him. They took that as the final warning for those who dared to slack off.


    And soon it was midnight, when the poor children were finally released from their torture of a soloist hell as they relished this time of peace and instantly fell asleep.


    Dozing off in the middle of the training grounds, Ye FengTian silently observed them fall asleep, her eyes deep and unreadable but clear as glass.


    She stood there for a while, her expression didn''t change, but a weird glint flew by her eyes.


    Suddenly, as if the night winds had brought upon a huge gale of iciness, the wind untied Ye FengTian''s tucked up pony tail, the dust grazed past and slightly revealed a tender and stunning appearance of a girl, her amethyst eyes so beautiful they seemed to not belong to this world, her ink black hair breezing along with the wind.


    Ye FengTian stood their like a immortal from heaven. She seemed otherworldly, even heaven seemed to low in comparison to her mysterious beauty that seemed both dark and beautiful.


    The sudden gale of strong wind suddenly released a strong air of darkness which surrounded the otherworldly violet eyes girl. The darkness slipped out for a second, seemingly alike just a fleeting shadow that didn''t even seem to have existed. The darkness was oppressed. Like someone was controlling the darkness and forcefully suppressing it...

 19 Is this hell-2

    It was a peaceful night yet the orphans sleepingwere all having continuous nightmares.


    They dreamt of the darkest things.


    Ye FengTian had long disappeared from her spot, the lingering darkness still there, it seemed to surround the group of orphans.


    Her long silky hair flowed down her back, her every step carried an indescribable darkness and iciness. It was like she was an immortal stepping through the mortal realm.


    ''It''s getting harder to suppress each time.''


    She stepped through the mansion, blending into the shadows seamlessly.


    Stepping into the moonlight, she jumped silently onto the roof and started heading towards Ye Mansion.


    It was midnight, the Ye Mansion was silent and tranquil. A strange darkness silently slipped through the cracks, this time, even Ye Zhen could not detect it''s presence.


    Reaching her room, Ye FengTian silently plopped onto her bed. Her eyes were so clear yet they had a sense of mystery in them.


    She had long sent her maid back to the maid headquarters as soon as she arrived at Ye mansion.


    She changed into her night gown and started to go to sleep, her eyes slowly closing as a darkness over took her.


    Slowly the darkness surrounded her, it was as if it was trying to devour her, but no response came out of the girl with the face even the heavens were jealous of.

    It was early the next morning at around 4am again. The sun was still not up yet as Ye FengTian got up. Her amethyst eyes looked tired as she stared into the distance, a strange glow in them.


    She got up, got dressed and headed out. Before leaving though, she had once again disguised her maid Xiao Fei, this time she was too tired to put any make up on her in a attempt to dress her up as herself, she simply tucked the maid in bed and left.


    Xiao Fei stared at her miss''s distant back and couldn''t help but feel that her Miss seemed some what off today.


    Arriving at the gates of the small mansion Ye FengTian had brought, she arrived at the training grounds in less than a few seconds.


    Ye FengTian was surprised to see all ten children already up and training. She was glad that they were finally being somewhat obedient.


    Observing quietly, she blended perfectly into the shadows, not one orphan noticed her presence or entrance.


    Yin Hua, the stoic looking girl, the oldest among the girls was currently leading the girls training. She looked serious and strong as her straight back stood strongly even against the enormous weight of the stone blocks.


    She carefully made sure they balanced perfectly upon her shoulders, she stood there, looking seriously at the nine other girls, all who were younger than her by at least a few years.


    She ordered strictly to the girls who were also balancing rocks on their shoulders with one leg up. The traininglooked highly simple and easy on the surface but only those few girls knew the true difficulty of balancing with rocks that heavy was.


    They listened to Yin Hua, their friend who they regarded as an idol or leader. They looked up to her, on the surface she seemed stoic like a man but the girls knew that deep down she cared about them the most.


    The boy orphans all looked at the struggling girls, their gazes filled with two things, confusion and anger.


    They felt it was so unfair! Why did their saviour treat the girls nicely while they were suffering so badly? They all wanted to ask how they were supposed to survive past the week with this hellish training?!


    All their thoughts suddenly were the same as the boys came to the hardest part of their training, the push ups!


    ''Is this hell?!''


    ''It must be!''


    The boys all simultaneously answered in their heads while continuing to pour out buckets upon buckets of sweat. They kept doing their hellish training all the way until nightfall when the sky was already pitch dark.


    Just like that a week quickly flew by.

 20 Achieved in a week.

    It had only been a short week but towards the orphans, they felt an entire eternity had passed, however they were more stoked by their personal achievements.


    The girl orphans soon realised that they were being trained more towards stealth and balancing as well as martial techniques while the boys would train their physical body then learn assassination skills. Soon they switched positions and the girls where the ones dying on the inside instead. However, under the excellent lead of Yin Hua, the girls persisted even more, perhaps it was the image of their saviour praising them, or perhaps they genuinely wanted to become stronger, did they try their hardest every day of that single week.


    It had only been one week, yet the physical body of these originally malnourished and fragile as glass children were now stronger than even B rank assassins.


    Their techniques were way beyond comprehension as all the orphans somehow managed to learn the hardest assassination and protection martial techniques in only a week! However, these techniques were ones they as children who had never been exposed to society learned. Which meant, these techniques, were actually...invented by a certain someone, and if anyone who had even an inkling of martial knowledge would be able to tell that those techniques were, in short, genius!


    If even kids who were training martial arts since they could walk learned these martial techniques, they still wouldn''t progress as fast as the ten orphans, they perhaps wouldn''t even be able to learn any of the techniques. That, was precisely why Ye FengTian had chosen orphans.


    It was common sense that when learning something new, it wasn''t always necessarily better knowing past knowledge. Starting on a clean slate, that was something that the orphanage had taught her.


    The orphans not only progressed physically, but mentally, they were happier, despite the hellish training, they were healthier and at the end of the day they felt safe and peaceful. It was something these orphans had never experienced before.


    Ye FengTian stood in the shadows observing silently as always. She stared at the girls and then at the boys, mentally, she was noting down who had better skill and who had a better physical structure.


    Completing her analysis, she walked out to the shadows, showing her peerlessly "beautiful and handsome" face of Ye Feng.


    Her ink black hair was tied up in a high military ponytail and her amethyst eyes glowed and glistened under the sun. No one could read them.


    Seeing their most beloved person, their saviour, they all felt cheerful inside, despite blaming their saviour for the hellish week they had experienced, they were still thankful dee down in their hearts. They knew that, without the boy standing in front of them, they would never achieve or have anything they had now.


    Seeing the orphans attention on her, ''Ye Feng'' was silent before spoke out emotionlessly, "Yin Hua has the best assassination skills, Yin Yu has the best physical skills." She suddenly stopped, "You two will fight each other. First one to surrender wins."


    She stated the rules before disappearing from her spot, the orphans thought she had left. In fact, she was hiding in the shadows still, observing their every move was necessary.


    Yin Yu and Yin Hua glanced simultaneously at each other, their eyes filled with determination to win. Zhen Hua has her usual stoic face on but this time, she made sure to keep her fists clenched. Yin Yu was a strong and muscular boy that was a whole head taller that Yin Hua, he towered over her easily, his eyes also filled with determination as he stared at Yin Hua in front of him.


    Suddenly, Yin Hua had disappeared almost exactly like Ye FengTian, except that was only what was seen of the surface. In reality, she hadn''t actually disappeared but she had just used skill and light to make it seem that she disappeared but in fact she was running speedily towards the back of Yin Yu.


    However, at that moment Yin Yu felt something was off, his gut feeling was telling him to watch out. And exactly at that moment, Yin Hua suddenly popped out behind him to take a hit, but Yin Yu had better physical abilities so he instantly took the hit head on. He suffered the brunt of the hit, but his other hand was tightly on the neck of Yin Hua.


    Grabbing tightly around her neck, Yin Yu used his superior strength to strangle Yin Hua. Yin Hua chocked, she struggled and silently she refused to give up, despite knowing that if she continued like this she would loose, suddenly a glint flashed by her eyes, but that glint was seen by Ye FengTian.


    Out of no where, suddenly came flying down a pair of black robes and violet glowing eyes, staring right at Yin Hua''s eyes. Her wrist was firmly grabbing Yin Hua''s raised one.


    She coldly said, "you''ll kill him." Those three words instantly brought a shiver down everyone''s spine, including the shacking Yin Yu who had loosen his hold on Yin Hua''s neck due to Ye FengTian''s sudden interference.


    Yin Hua looked down, her eyes and expression was down cast as she apologised softly.


    ''Ye Feng'' released Yin Hua''swrist. Standing their, her current aura was suffocating the orphans, they all felt frozen to their very souls. It was the middle of spring, yet, it felt like winter had arrived already.


    "So, you two think it''s a death match?" She asked coldly, her voice like ice that froze the entire training courtyard.


    "S-s-sorry..." Yin Hua and Yin Yu both apolosed at the same time, their faces guilty as they apologised onscreen to Ye Feng and then to each other.


    Ye FengTian was standing their silently. She pondered silently her eyes dark and mysterious, completely unreadable.


    "When you meet enemies in the future, fight like how you two did today." With that she disappeared into the shadows again, her chilly aura still lingered in the air, but the suffocating suppression from earlier left the ten orphans all breathless.


    They knew now that, despite their saviours coldness, he still cared for them!

 21 Caution-1

    Somewhere among the royal palace was a hidden room. The room was behind a sturdy bookshelf which had a light torch as it''s switch. A tall and handsome man walked in to the study room. He had broad shoulders, a stern face that screamed masculinity and a tall but fearful presence that made people drop to their knees. The man slowly made his way inside the study before promptly shutting the wooden doors.


    He strode to the light torch in wide strides, putting one hand on the torch, he pulled it out.


    Suddenly the room structure seemed to change as the giant bookshelf moved aside to reveal a hidden stone tunnel. The man proceeded into the darkness of the tunnel, the stone door closing behind him slowly.


    Finally, the man made it out of the dark stone tunnel and stepped into the light, his handsome face was shown to be even more dazzling in the light.


    "How did the investigation go." He asked a youth in front of him. The youth was much younger, but he was incredibly handsome with jade like skin and big round eyes, he had a smile hanging on his soft lips but his smile didn''t reach his eyes.


    The youth slowly shook his head.


    "Third brother, I''m afraid that, the results are quite fruitless." As he said this the youth''s eyes dimmed with a considerably dark light. The youth''s pale snowy like skin was so pale it seemed almost unnatural in a strange way. The youth contemplated before he raised his small head again.


    "Third brother, he most definitely lied to us."


    The Stalwart and tall man in front of the youth hooded. He understood that, based on their capabilities their was no way someone they investigated could turn up with nothing unless they were lied to, but, who would dare lie to the imperial family?!


    That itself was like courting death. It seemed that the other countries were making a move, if that perilously skilled person wasn''t a spy, then who was he?


    ''Third brother'' or Wang Jun had already mentally decided that ''Ye Feng'' was a spy from another nation.


    Just as he was about to suggest they report this to their royal father, his brother, Wang Xue suddenly spoke out.


    "I know what you are thinking, but, if we tell royal father, wouldn''t he some to know then that we had carried out an investigation behind his back? You know how royal father is. He wouldn''t stand that, he''s too suspicious of everyone now. Especially his sons who are still fighting for the throne." Those words instantly cut off Wang Jun''s idea of reporting. He was glad that he had this younger brother who shared the same mother and father with him by his side.


    He definitely wasn''t smart to a certain extent, but he didn''t have to worry about that with Wang Xue by his side.


    Wang Jun sighed a thanks to his brother before leaving the study cautiously through the stone tunnel.


    After the shadow of Wang Jun was nowhere to be seen, Wang Xue''s expression changed. His face no longer concerned but dark as ash, a complete contrast to his snowy pale skin.


    "Ah Third brother, what would you do, if I was no longer there to help you?"

 22 A price to pay.

    Ye FengTian silently made her way through the dark alleys of Wang Kingdom. Her mind was spinning with millions of things that no one could understand. She had thought about her arrival at this strange ancient world. Her family, their betrayal and that...dark energy that she kept feeling ever since arriving here.


    It wasn''t the first time she had experienced such an energy before. Before her betrayal, during that time frame she felt a dark energy always lingering within her, she found that it was hard to control, to the point that during those times she had considered if she was perhaps mentally ill.


    Later, when her step sister betrayed her, that was the last trigger. That day, she wasn''t like her usual self, instead she was like a corrupted devil. She felt things she had never felt even at what she considered, the darkest points in her life. Even at that orphanage, she never felt like...that.


    She remembered the last thing she heard before arriving here. "So the chosen ones just going to give up like that."


    What did he mean, chosen one? Was he the believed, ''god'' or was he some sort of guardian? But that was, beyond human comprehension.


    She knew that, this transmigration wasn''t scientific. In fact, she wouldn''t be surprised if her being here meant a disturbance to the natural law of life and death. She wouldn''t be surprised if...she had to pay a price.


    What she found strange was that she kept feeling, familiar with this place. A strange feeling that she didn''t understand simply because she had no recollection of ever being here before her transmigration.


    And she had somehow kept her original appearance the same. Was this an alternate universe? She remembered that every time she met her ''family'' members, she had to keep a facade on. However, she knew some people knew her true self.

    Ye FengTian felt another wave of dark energy threatening to push through her. Her tied up hair suddenly dispersed, revealing her long silky hair. Her amethyst eyes glowed in the dark. A chilly aura was released into the dark sky, covering up to a five metre radius from where she stood. Slowly, the hair around her became dark. Filled with a darkness, an energy even Ye FengTian was struggling to keep under control.


    Pain...it''s painful..


    At that moment, Ye FengTian knew that this...was the price she had to pay.

 23 Caution-2

    Ye FengTian was supposedly still ''sick'' and no one was allowed to step into her courtyard. She had returned silently late last night, scaring the pour maid, Xiao Fei, out of her mind.


    She was so worried when she glanced at her miss''s disheveled appearance and pale face. Although Xiao Fei was very tranced by her miss''s beauty, she knew something bad must have happened. But no matter how much she asked her miss refused to say anything, only coldly ordering to prepare a bath.


    After that Xiao Fei had changed back into her maid uniform and obediently followed Ye FengTian''s orders.


    The next morning, Ye FengTian seemed to return to her usual ''normal'' self. Well, as normal as since she woke up from her coma and receiving amnesia, that is.


    The two where peacefully conversing, with the maid talking more than the mistress. Asking her all kinds of blabbering questions. Filled with worry. Ye FengTian just wanted to sleep for the day so she ordered her maid to go outside and guard the door, afterwards she climbed back into bed and closed her eyes.


    Feeling sad but respectful of her master, Xiao Fei walked dejectedly outside of Ye FengTian''s room. She swore that she would do anything to help her Miss, even if it was simply to guard the door.


    Contrasting to the peaceful and serene atmosphere at Ye FengTian''s courtyard. The atmosphere inYe Chen Fu''scourtyard was the complete opposite.


    A loud ''pa'' sound of broken glass sounded out in Jing Yu courtyard.


    The maid, Rou''er, next to the madman, Ye Chen Fu,was scared witless upon seeing all the expensive jade urns broken into pieces on the ground!


    Ye Chen Fu was heaving and breathing heavily.


    She was furious! It seemed that ever since that good for nothing woke up and happened to get amnesia, she suddenly became smart enough to out scheme her precious daughter!


    "I will get my revenge. Just you wait!" Ye Chen Fu loudly cursed while throwing another jade urn onto the ground.


    Despite Rou''er''s desperate pleads for her master to stop, Ye Chen Fu only stopped after all the jade urns and precious jewels where broken.


    She finally calmed down, however after only just calming down, an evil and wicked smile formed on her face.


    She whispered some orders into Rou''er''s ears. Rou''er''s eyes widened, she clasped her mouth as Ye Chen Fu kept whispering to her, finally Rou''er''s legs have way as she ''plopped onto the ground heavily.


    Upon witnessing this, Ye Chen Fu felt angry again, now even her maid wasn''t as obedient and smart as that bastard! Ye Chen Fu seemed to have found another outlet of her anger this time.


    The screams and shouts of a young maid could be heard from al the way outside of Jing Yu courtyard to anywhere near it. The maids pleas and wails sent shivers down the nearby servants as they all lowered their heads, not daring to intervene as to afraid that they could be the next ones to be used as anger outlets.


    Finally after quite a while, Ye Chen Fu finally let go of her poor maid that seemed to almost pass out.


    The poor paid had bruises and cuts all over her from either Ye Chen Fu''s hand or the broken shards of jade urns on the ground.


    "If you dare to be such a coward in front of me again, then be prepared to experience ten times the amount of pain you just did!"


    With that,Ye Chen Fu left the mess in the room for the other maids to clean up.


    Before leaving the room, she quietly whispered something into another servants ear, this time the servant knew better than to show any fear like Rou''er did. The maid nodded her head in understanding, quickly leaving the courtyard to follow the orders.


    Afterwards Ye Chen Fu manically laughed to herself, the scene was petrifying to the servants cleaning up the mess in the bedroom.


    Suddenly Ye Chen Fu''s maniac like laugh abruptly stopped, talking to herself she evilly said,


    "Ye FengTian, no matter how smart you are, I doubt you can escape this!"

 24 The calm before the storm

    It was the next day, the sun was out and the birds where chirping. However, this peaceful morning was soon to be destroyed, just like the calm before the storm.


    "Furen how may I help you?" Xiao Fei asked the lady standing arrogantly in front of Ye FengTian''s courtyard.


    She had wrinkles on her face that was covered by visible powder and makeup. It made her look some-what younger, however strangely the face still looked haggard.


    She had eyes like a snake but a small face, the tall lady also had brownish dark hair, with strands of white hairs visible.


    "I''m here to send some medicine for the youngest Miss. Move aside." She spoke arrogantly, although she managed to maintain a smile filled with no mirth.


    "I''m sorry, Furen, but our young Miss instructed us to prevent anyone from entering." With one arm raised Xiao Fei stood unwavering at the entrance of Yue courtyard, Ye FengTian''s secluded courtyard.


    "Hmph! Now even a lowly maid like you dared to stop me from entering a manor''s courtyard! This is how your young Miss has taught you?!" The snake face like woman stood yelling arrogantly, however no matter how much she yelled and shouted,no one paid her any heed, after all she had been like this since Ye Chen Xue was sent away, of course everyone would ignore her screams and shouts, assuming it was just the mansion''s madman making a big fuss again.


    "Xiao Fei. Why is there a pig screaming outside my room?" A ice cold voice suddenly seeped through the closed doors behind Xiao Fei, making everyone in the courtyard suddenly go silent, their backs filled with cold sweat for some reason.


    When Ye Chen Fu heard that icy voice that sounded heavenly, it almost pierced her vile heart!


    She felt like a lump had formed within her throat, choking her and making her unable to utter even a single protest.


    Finally, the maid that had gone along with the madam realised it was the youngest Miss talking, so out of basic etiquette and rules she bowed and greeted her.


    Seeing this, the rest of the courtyard also seemed to snap out of their short daze.


    "Youngest Miss, I think you have it wrong, our madam was actually just here to deliver some medicine soup to you out of kindness, however this lowly maid dared to stop her." The maid explained with a restrained arrogant expression similar to that of her master.


    Suddenly, before Ye Chen Fu could even nod at her maid words, a shadow had appeared behind them.


    "Oh really? I don''t think that''s what I heard." A old and rusty voice suddenly came out behindfrom where Ye Chen Fu was standing.


    Shivering, Ye Chen Fu immediately reconsider who that voice belonged too!


    Her originally frightened state had just recovered some dignity before she instantly began cowering in fear.


    Suddenly the door to Ye FengTian''s room burst open, and standing in front of the open door was an old middle aged man with silver hair and a visibly hunched back.


    "I came too deliver medical soup to you, yet instead I heard a pig screaming outside your courtyard, however, what surprises me the most is that I hadn''t expected your ''sick'' self to be fully dressed and standing by your bed?" The middle aged old man faced Ye FengTian with clear grey eyes. His other hand was holding a pot of soup that glistened in the morning light, he stared right into Ye FengTian''s cold and unwavering amethyst eyes.


    An unexpected tension started to build up within the room.

 25 Broken facade

    Ye FengTian stared right back at the silver old man. His long white hair flowed down his back. His eyes clear as glass as he observed Ye FengTian''s cold exquisite face capable of destroying nations.


    "I was going to come out and silence a certain pig." Ye FengTian answered calmly, as she slowly walked out, with only a white dress and a fur coat and her long ink black hair flowing down her back, the people around witnessing the scene truly thought they were watching a goddess that came right out of a painting, surreal and mesmerising.

    It wasn''t until they turned around to look at where everyone else was looking, the entrance door, they wouldn''t have known why the originally noisy haul and become a ghost town.


    "Greetings, your highness the Crown Prince." Madam Wu announced, her voice filled with respectfulness as she bowed towards the aloof Crown Prince.


    Simultaneously the rest of the room of twenty five girls also bowed and repeated what madam wu had said.


    Finally the first Exam of the four day long examination would commence.

 33 Ye FengTian suffering-3

    As the entrance exam officially commenced, Madam Wu announced th he first examination, which was, Archery.


    As she did Ye FengTian silently breathed a breathe of relief. She was glad the first exam was archery as this would allow her to easily pass the exam.


    As Ye FengTian and the other twenty four girls listened to Madam Wu explain the procedure and rules they were to follow during the exam, the Crown, Wang Qin, has taken a seat next to a tea table situated against the left wall near the left end of the room.


    He was drinking some tea as he observed the girls and Madam Wu, suddenly his eyes spotted a pair of amethyst ones.


    The pair of violet eyes was also coincidentally staring back at Wang Qin''s Royal and cold ones.


    He had started get bored of just observing the non-interesting events going on during the explanation made by Madam Wu, and low and behold he noticed a girl participant, with eyes highly familiar and beautiful.


    He stared eyes for a long time, the two were simply aboard in a stare down for ages, no one willingly backing out.


    Of course Ye FengTian wasn''t having a stare down with Wang Qin simply because she felt like it.


    It was actually because she was observing him, trying to read his thoughts and getting a grasp of his personality as she had donewith most people she met.


    She subconsciously noted how he looked like he hadn''t recognised her identity, as of yet.

    Eventually the crown prince had decided he had enough and broke the stare down with a light chuckle that went unnoticed by everyone.


    Ye FengTian didn''t have any reaction as she calmly went back to focusing on the rules and procedures that Madam Wu was talking about.


    "Now...I will lead you all the the first exam destination, the imperial shooting grounds for the guards and guard trainees. " Madam Wu finally finished her explanation as she led the bored and absolutely tired group of girls towards the direction of the archery exam destination.


    As they walked Ye FengTian was once again confronted by the cheery and happy girl from earlier, she seemed not as dazed from before as she grinned and leaned over towards Ye FengTain , softly whispering,


    "You are Ye FengTian right..I just know you are! You know, your my goddess, my idol! I''v always wondered what the capital''s number one beauty looked like, and now I''m truly stunned, you''ve only shown your eyes, but yet their so captivating that I just knew you were that Ye FengTian!" She excitedly whispered to the stone cold Ye FengTain.


    She seemed jumpy and curious all at the same time, reminding Ye FengTainof a bunny.


    Ye FengTian, seemingly a bit amused by this..happy-go-lucky girl, decided she wouldn''t want to crush this girl''s dreams.


    Ye FengTian leaned over, her shoulder brushing lightly on Fei Yu''s one, Ye FengTain quietly whispered,


    "Your guess is right. Your name is?" Ye FengTian quietly whispered back, her voice a little bit less cold than before.


    Fei Yu stared at Ye FengTian''s beautiful amethyst eyes, as she flashed Ye FengTian her signature smile.


    "It''s Fei Yu. Oh by the way, goddess Ye, could I please be your friend?" Fei Yu quietly asked, although the excitement within her voice wasn''t concealed very well.


    Ye FengTian''s steps suddenly paused slightly, however she knew people where behind her, so she quickly started walking again, her pause was unnoticed as she emotionlessly stared at Fei Yu''s face, her eyes unreadable as she tried to gain and understanding of why she would ask her to be friends.


    "Sure." Ye FengTian eventually decided to reply, after a long (not really) period of time.


    She didn''t know why and how she came to the decision that she could trust this person, but she thought that she could at least agree and then figure out theirreal intentions later on.


    When Fei Yu heard that reply, she was over the moon, she could almost hug Ye FengTian at that moment, but instead held back as she remembered how this was her goddess, her idol, inside her mind Fei Yu silently swore that one day she would be worthy enough to hug her goddess.


    "Hey! You two, can you guys walk faster? We''re being held back by you two slow pokes! And stop whispering like a bunch of flies..oh wait you guys are flies!" The voice that suddenly interjected during Fei Yu and Ye FengTian''s conversation was arrogant as she laughed and pointed her finger at the two,


    She continued on to say,


    "What? Got a secret you wanna share with us? Or do you think your so much better than us that you won''t share it? Well that''s fine, because I know we won''t be seeing you, passing this first exam anyways."

 34 Ye FengTian suffering-4

    Ye FengTian turned around. She was quite amused, really. That voice, who had just yelled at her, and her newly made "friend" was still standing there, with a fat finger pointing at them.


    Ye FengTian really didn''t have the energy to spend on a annoying, little fly, that was pestering her.


    She turned around swiftly, a chilling icy aura surrounded her, a sense of darkness creeped through her as her amethyst eyes seemed to glow.


    "Oh." That was it.


    That was all she replied with.


    "I-I wha- how- huh??" The annoying fly protested, her mouth moving up and down and she still pointed her fat fingers at the two, she hadn''t even realised that the chuckling and sly laughter behind her were from her "supporters" laughing at her reaction.


    "Alright! Enough chatter! We have arrived at the destination!" Madam Wu yelled out in irritation. She had just listened to the fat girl yell out at Ye FengTian and was astounded by the lack of manners and absolute stupidity these contestants where showing. How could they possibly pass this year''s entrance exam?


    Right after Madam Wu finished announcing that they had arrived at the Archery ground, she walked over to the front of the long green field.


    There was a very long and wide field that spanned up to 450 metres in length and it was shocking that such a field even existed within the imperial palace. In front of the fuel but at the very end stood six delicately placed targets and at the very front of the field was stands on uplifted platform made from a refined wood, holding archery bows with feathered arrows stored in a box beside it. Beside these platform where a few horses tied to fence posts on the side, they seemed to be for when the challenge would move onto the advanced level, if they could even reach that level that was.


    "Right! Listen up. All of you will take turns to compete. There will be a total of five heats. I believe the judges of this competition will be the princes personally, so do your best!" As Madam Wu was saying this she had a huge expression of doubt of her face. She seemed to almost runaway with embarrassment as she slapped her forehead because she anticipated the upcoming embarrassing scene.


    Simply from past experiences, she remembered how the past participants did in this particular challenge and that was, simply put, a horrible and horrifying scene to watch. Most of the participants failed this challenge and only a few daughters that came from General backgrounds proceeded to the next challenge, and even those participants barely qualified. They ended up passing on simply because they beat the other participants by a fair bit, and they could at least hold the bow properly.


    As Madam Wu was contemplating and brooding, muttering over the challenge He FengTain has already stepped up to the Archery platform.


    As she stood on the elevated the platform she suddenly noticed a gaze on her. She turned around and face that blazing gaze head on with her amethyst eyes, slowly the light in her eyes started to darken. And her original expressionless face seemed to become black in an instance.


    There, on the side of the Archery station, was four tables. On the first table sat Madam Wu. She held a fan in her hand and seemed to be contemplating how she could make up for the for the upcoming embarrassment. On the second table was a youthful looking man.


    He had snow like skin, so pale that it almost seemed sickly. He had a giant smile on his face as he stared right into those frosty, amethyst eyes.


    There, on the second table, with a golden palate with the top I engravedwith ''Judge'' sat the the Fifth prince of the Wang Kingdom, Wang Xue.

    Having finished explaining the Rules, Madam Wu walked towards the girls, when she was a fair distance away from them, she stopped.


    "Those on the platforms already. Get ready, after the count down you will shoot at the target at the same time. If you do not know how to shoot an arrow, simply step off the platform now." She announced suddenly, her booming and strict voice steady.


    No one stepped off the platform.


    Ye FengTian sighed internally.


    She recalled Madam Wu''s words and thought to herself,


    ''This is just a show off competition. A competition to brag about one''s social standing. What a waste of time.''


    She turned her amethyst eyes icilytowards the target, without giving it a glance whatsoever she waited for the countdown to start.


    "Three, two, one. Draw your bow and Shoot!" Madam Wu announced.


    Bang. The arrow shot out from Ye FengTian''s now hit the blue ring of the target.


    "What?"


    Somebody muttered under their breath.


    Everybody turned towards Ye Feng Tain.


    A audible sigh escaped Ye FengTian''s Lips as she knew that this time the situation had been miscalculated.


    She had..really overestimated her opponents'' ability to shoot an arrow. Was her luck this bad that she had to verse such easy opponents? Perhaps she should have just shot the arrow towards a hay bale, like her opponents did.


    "The winner of this round is Ye FengTian! Judges, would you like to evaluate it again?"


    Madam Wu turned to face the three ''judges''.


    Suddenly a snowy white hand was raised, and a pair of glossy, youthful eyes suddenly stared at platform one, to the far left.


    "I do!" The youthful prince suddenly called out.


    ''Of course he does.'' Ye FengTian icily thought, although her face was mostly covered with the veil, which also muffled her bright, vibrant amethyst eyes, the veil could not conceal her cold aura being excluded.


    "Ms Ye FengTian, am I correct? I don''t know, but I get this feeling like I''ve met you some where before."

 36 Dare to lie?

    "I don''t think we have ever met, your highness. This prince must have mistaken this young miss for someone else." Her cold voice echoed clearly within the archery range.


    "Very well then. I shouldn''t stall this competition. You may begin- Oh, before we start.." he suddenly walked towards Ye FengTian.


    A inexplainable glint flashed his eyes quickly. It was the kind that seemed harmless yet a dangerous meaning was hidden behind it. This glint past as fast as lightning, but Ye FengTian caught it.


    He finally stopped. The fifth prince of Wang Kingdom had now arrived all the way upon the top of the platform. The platform was designed for one person only, however when the prince stood on it, it seemed to have unaffected the platform at all. The prince stood with his hands behind his back. A mischievous smile, akin to one of a child, was spread across his lips. As he walked closer, small gasps of excitement and shock echoed each time he took a step closer.


    Finally, when he was about half a metre from his designated "destination" the field, the Archery range, the contestants, stilled and stood silently. No one dared to say anything, no one knew what to say.


    As the prince stopped walking, he suddenly noticed that his surroundings where awfully quiet. The prince frowned as he scanned the contestants, his fellow half brothers and Madam Wu.


    Suddenly his soft but youthful voice rung out,


    "Why are you all so quiet? Well, it''s not like I''m preventing you all from speaking, right? Talk about the competition, talk about anything. It''s fine. I just have some unattended business with this p-"


    Suddenly, as if the crowd was afraid to wait form him to finish his words. They started to talk again. Just like he had advised, they started talking about the competition, the results, who was going to win and other miscellaneous things. They were talking unusually loud as well.


    Hearing this, the Prince smiled. He wasn''t even surprised that the crowd had cut his cords off. That they cut off a prince''s words off. He simply smiled slightly, turning his attention back to the person opposite of him.


    Eventually, the archery range was silent again, although, the competition didn''t start. How could it? The prince had unfinished business with one of the contestants.


    "So. You say this prince has never met you before? You claim this prince has mistaken you for another person? Interesting.."


    The fifth prince suddenly spoke softly, almost like a whisper to himself. The person opposite him had a cold smile hidden underneath her veil as her eyes remained expressionless and unreadable.


    "Yes." She replies in response to his rhetorical questions.


    "Oh? He responded amusingly. His eyes now also held that Mischievous expression as he leaned closer. His lips suddenly curved downwards, into a frown.


    He shook his head, as if he was disappointed in her response. Suddenly his mischievous expression returned, expect this time he was closer, so Ye FengTian could see the dark, calculating glint in his eyes, hidden deep beneath his gaze.


    "You know.." he started. His voice soft and almost inaudible, but to someone with trained hearing, it was not a problem for Ye FengTian to hear him clearly.


    "Lying to the imperial family, means death."


    He whispered in her ear, so quietly that only Ye FengTian could hear, he then retreated and began walking right back to where he was supposed to be, at the judges table.

    It was just, when she looked into those amethyst eyes behind the white veil, they looked so very empty. Like the void.


    "I- ..uh- ..ok, good job Wu Mei, other contestants, do you still wish to compete?" She asked the three other contestants in that particular heat. Perhaps it was just their luck, but they unluckily were chosen to be in a group with Wu Mei.


    Well, Madam Wu did help to save them some face. She didn''t even need to ask, it was obvious. The three girls shook their heads as they walked glumly off the stage. Wu Mei smiled as she turned to face Madam Wu.


    "Alright, Wu Mei, you are the winner!"


    As Madam Wu Concluded the Archery competition. She noticed the second prince of the Wang Kingdom, Wang Zhou, walk up to her. Wang Zhou was a very handsome, just like any other prince of the Wang Kingdom, he was charming and good looking. He had a strong and determined aura that radiated the ''knight in shining armour'' stereotype.


    Madam Wu had a knowing look in her eyes as she bowed and nodded her head politely to the prince.


    "Madam Wu, That girl just then..she was Wu Mei?" The prince addresses Madam Wu directly, casting a small glance at Wu Mei as he mentioned her name.


    Madam Wu nodded her head. She had a feeling she knew what was going on now.

 Chapter 38 - A crime scene.

    She found it amusing that the ?ssassin would have the guts to blatantly threaten Wang Xue. He was a prince of the kingdom and a possible future emperor. Unless this person was resolutely ready to die for their mission or¡ªno, it was never that simple, she should have remembered the time when she met Wang Xue. In truth, any matter regarding the imperial family would not be simple. Nonetheless this was her least concern. Ye FengTian''s gaze turned darker as she stared straight into the eyes of the black covered ?ssassin.


    The ?ssassin was wearing a black outfit that covered half his face. His eyes were merciless and one could tell they belonged to a callous killer. He was definitely professionally trained and compared to the ten ?ssassins Ye Yu Chen had claimed to be of ''S'' class, he was definitely levels beyond that.


    The thing Ye FengTian was most interested about was his way of holding the knife to his victim. Well, Wang Xue couldn''t be considered much of a victim to begin with. He seemed to be more of a hostage.


    As she confirmed her theory on the ?ssasin''s goal she never took her eyes off of him.


    The way he held the knife was simply too strange. The poison the maid carried was also odd. It was impossible, yet.. out of all the places...what were the odds?


    Suddenly screams and shouts of terror rang out within the archery ground in no time. The realisation that one of the Royal prince''s had a knife up his throat had frightened everyone out of their wits, even the other princes sitting beside their half brother were shaken. They had immediately stood up to make a run for it. Although, they clearly had the skills to fight with the ?ssassin. Some had expressions of shock and anguish while others held expressions of pure terror. It was a sight to behold.


    Along with the crowd was a suspicious silhouette , she was calm and collected yet her acting was superb as she pretended to be shocked and frail, tripping here and there but never actually touching the floor. Her eyes caster glances at her maid beside her, as she fled the scene.


    However, just as Ye FengTian was about to go and kill the ?ssassin, she felt her blood freeze. A warm and youthful hand was wrapped tightly around her arm. Out of reflexes she impulsively shook the hand away with cold, sharp strength before casting her darkened gaze at the whimpering figure on the floor.


    When her gaze landed at the petite figure her gaze instantly reverted back to it''s originals empty and expressionless one. She held out one hand as she gently asked,


    "Are you ok? Sorry. I used too much strength." Her voice was smooth and heavenly to the ears yet when she spoke there was an underlying coldness that came with it.


    As the figure on the floor slowly reached out her hand, Ye FengTian jerked back a bit. However her reaction was so minute the person holding her hand was oblivious. The figure being helped up suddenly felt Ye FengTian pull her up so swiftly is was as if she hadn''t been on the ground the second before. It was a strange sensation but nonetheless the figure lifted her face and thanked but also apologised to Ye FengTian.


    Her small face was red as a tomato and her round eyes filled with tears. And although usually this scene would draw an immense amount of attention and gossip, nobody payed it any mind as they ran screaming for help, desperately trying to rush and squeeze their way out from the exit.


    Facing this situation Ye FengTian was shocked so stunned she nearly forgot about her original goal. However she couldn''t simply leave Fei Yu here. It was too risky. So instead she thought of an excuse.


    "Sorry for pushing you. I..never mind that. Go and escape. I''m going to attend to some matter first. If they ask you where I am...then say that I went to the restroom." Ye FengTian said a little coldly as she suddenly disappeared from Fei Yu''s view.


    Following after in quick ascension, Fei Yu''s world blacked out. And she was no longer within the vicinity of the archery grounds.


    After Fei Yu was no longer an obstacle towards her goal, she turned to face the ?ssassin who was currently threatening the fifth prince of Wang Kingdom, Wang Xue.


    The ?ssassin had never left his eyes off of Ye FengTian and as a result he was shocked when he blinked, and her sillouette was no longer within his field of vision. It was like she had disappeared into thin air. Confused and a suspicious, he took caution executing his next few moves. He spoke very indifferently, a false facade of calmness masked his face as he brought the silver blade closer to the snowy neck.


    Just as it was about to touch and cut the skin a sudden whirl of wind gushed out. Although prepared and anticipating the ambush the ?ssassin barley went unscathed. His shoulder was cut deeply. Now wounded, he knew his odds of winning were slim, and whoever this master was was not going to let him off. Acting swiftly he decisively made a run for it.


    Jumping over the table he dashed out towards the maid beside Wu Mei.


    Shouting, he yelled "Fall back! The plan has failed-" however, the maid standing next to Wu Mei had her eyes wide open, he face filled with shock as she witnessed his head fall off right before her eyes. She shivered relentlessly, her knees going week and her hands rushing to cover her mouth in an attempt to stop herself from vomiting. As a result, the bowl of pitch black liquid fell and broke, its contents spilling everywhere, burning every surface it came in contact with.


    Suddenly, a silver blade directed itself against the neck of the maid. The way the blade was held was the exact same as the way the ?ssassin did earlier. It was also the same blade the ?ssassin had used against Wang Xue.


    A cold and chilly voice suddenly rang out within the oddly silent field.


    "You''re going to be caught anyway, possibly even tortured. So answer my questions, if you know what''s best for you. Who was the poison meant for? Who sent the ?ssassin? And lastly....where..did you get that poison from.." Her emotionless voice had suddenly turned much darker as she asked the last question.


    "I-I don''t know who gave me this poison. All I know is the An Shu Family was the one who ordered my young Miss to use the poison on the Second Prince of the kingdom, Wang Zhou. The ?ssassin was supposed to export something out of the Fifth prince, Wang Xue, before killing him. The ?ssassin, I believe was sent by the An Shu family." The maid answered back stuttering, her knees quivering, her entire body shaking.


    "Who are the An Shu family?" She asked emotionlessly. Her eyes glancing unnoticeably at Wang Xue and Wang Zhou''s imperial badge.


    "The An Shu family are close relatives to the Emperor and the royals. Which is why I''m shocked that they would plot against the royal family I mean- please! I didn''t want to do this, I was forced." The maid clenched her fists and gritted her teeth as she exclaimed. She hid them discretely but they were still seen by Ye FengTian.


    Suddenly, blood splurged everywhere as it covered the face of Ye FengTian. Apparently, the maid has grabbed the knife and sliced her throat, or so it seemed.


    Ye Feng Tian displayed emotionless face. It was cold and robotic yet within the depths of her amethyst eyes one could still ever slightly make out a gaze filled with a deep loathing of something or someone.


    "Since you have witnessed this scene then I will remind you that today I have saved your life. And to you, ''Ye Feng'' does not exist. He is merely a stranger you will never encounter, understand?"

 Chapter 39 - After math.

    Calmly she concealed her presence as well as she could. Standing among the crowd of 50 or something girls, Ye FengTian seemed to be a statue. Still and unmoving.


    "Alright. This year''s entrance exam has been shortened to only a two day examination. One will be on musical and artistic knowledge. Another will be on history. The first exam will be in this very room. The second one will be outside in the courtyard. The first exam will commence tomorrow morning. This is the new decree by the emperor..." Madam Wu read out stoically. Her usual manner returned within an instance. She seemed to be unbothered about the recent ?ssassination attempt.


    "One more thing. No one is to speak about the events that occurred today. Do not question why. Or else...I believe I do not need to say anymore. You are all dismissed." She finally finished. Turning around swiftly, madam Wu left.


    ''Artistic and musical knowledge...'' Ye FengTian felt like a whole building had just crushed her. Her eyes were so gloomy despite her face seeming so emotionless. She sat there for a full minute sulking over the upcoming torture that everyone except Fei Yu.


    She seemed a bit worried as she headed towards the sulking statue.


    "Hey, Feng Tian sister, are you ok? You seem to be a bit..sad?" She spoke hesitantly as if she wasn''t sure what to describe the seemingly emotionless yet gloomy girl.


    Huh?


    She snapped out of her gloomy trance. She seemed a bit clueless as she turned to slowly face the concerned girl.


    "I''m fine." She spoke coldly, like usual. Although a trace of gloom could be detected within the depths of her amethyst eyes.


    "A-Alright. Well..if you need any help in the upcoming competitions. Don''t hesitate to ask." Fei Yu spoke warmly, her voice genuine.


    Ye FengTian simply nodded as she walked out together with Fei Yu. They seemed a bit closer.


    Suddenly, Ye FengTian proposed to head off on her own. She didn''t say precisely where she was heading she simply informed Fei Yu and well, walked off.


    Fei Yu was a bit shock but shrugged it off and kept walking back to their lodging. However, as she walked she encountered a rather, large shadow.

    As Ye FengTian saw that Fei Yu had completely left her field of vision. She sighed a breath of relief. Soon she vanished from her spot and appeared in front of a tall building.


    Truly, her speed was in human.


    The building was secluded and quiet. The peaceful environment alluring her to step foot inside and start crash coasting on musical and ''artistic'' knowledge. She decided that passing the exams would benefit her greatly. And she was genuinely interested in this new world. She wanted to start again. She didn''t want to go back to the past. She refused to be bound by the military. And it seemed that being reincarnated into ancient China as a girl, was the perfect chance to do so.


    She stepped inside. Lately she had thought greatly about her next few steps. And she knew she had to quickly leave the imperial palace and she most certainly had to leave the Ye Family. Perhaps she could learn about the neighbouring countries and geographical information on this new world.


    Suddenly, as she zoomed out of her deep thoughts, she noticed a presence within the library, it was familiar.


    She couldn''t help but stare coldly at the amused smile on that youthful face. He laughed and closed the book in his ??p.


    "Don''t give me that stare, this library isn''t just for you participants."


    Author''s note: sorry that this chapter was late and short. I haven''t been motivated to write but I''m trying. Anyways, some of you may have noticed but I published two chapters for my other book. Yes, I''m going to shamelessly promote it here and I know I''m being shameless but honestly I''m getting really tired of this story in general. I don''t really like it, and it''s not the genre I like writing. So I''m trying something else. However, I''m not dropping this book, I just want to try something else for the time being.  Chapter 40 - Concentrate. Study hard.

    She greeted the prince only due to the fact that it was mandatory to when meeting an imperial member.


    After finishing greeting him she immediately ignored the man, not even bothering to entertain him with small talk, although even if it wasn''t this annoying fly that she kept meeting she would never engage in small talk with anyone in the first place.


    She found small talk to be unnecessary. It was a way for people to politely


    dodge around here and there to ask for favours and other trivial matters from the other person. Sometimes it was even just to ''interact'' which she found strange. Was human interaction very amusing?


    No, it was disappointing.


    Again, she found herself indulging her mind to strange thoughts and not concentrating. Perhaps she had lived this lifestyle for a bit too long.


    Sighing internally, she sat down with a book in hand. It was titled ''Basics on ancient and historical art of the Wang Kingdom, historic events and all.'' She began reading.


    Meanwhile, as Ye FengTian was concentrated on her reading, or learning, a childish grin started to slowly form upon a certain snowy pale face, his eyes shifting ever so slightly to the girl near by.


    He suddenly had a determined look in his eyes as he closed his book loudly, which did nothing but alert the near by birds to fly away from the strange man who had suddenly slammed his book closed in the middle of a seemingly peaceful atmosphere.


    Wang Xue pouted slightly when he noticed the lack-of-reaction shown by the focused girl to his right. Standing up he softly smiled; determined to annoy the girl as pay back for her complete disregard of him.


    Of course, in reality Ye FengTian was simply the type of person to be incredibly focused when studying. Although, if normal people heard her when describing herself when studying, they would most likely faint as ''incredibly focused'' wouldn''t help


    at all when put under the trial of Wang Xue''s antics. Even the emperor could do nothing against his abnormal, outrageous but affective methods.


    Frustrated, Wang Xue was about to make his final struggle against the unbothered Ye FengTian when suddenly, the girl closed the book she was reading and placed it back onto the shelf she found it on, all while avoiding the standing agape and shocked-still Wang Xue effortlessly.


    Having finished reviewing the information she obtained form reading in the last few hours, Ye FengTian felt incredibly satisfied. However she would feel even more delighted if the fly bugging her would just die already. Of course, she hid her thoughts carefully, her face expressionless as usual.


    Without saying goodbye she stood up and walked out from the library, preparing to leave for her respective living quarters when she became slightly curious and glanced at the reflection of Wang Xue''s expression from the bronze mirror in the corner, and to her surprise he caught her gaze and smiled.


    Surprised, she didn''t know how to react. She stood stiff as her steady steps came to a halt.


    Suddenly Wang Xue''s expression became dark when he realised that she had began leaving without even saying goodbye, his eyes dropped as he pouted slightly, his figure looking incredibly gloomy and sad at that moment. Seeing this scene Ye FengTian suddenly had the urge to laugh as a soft smile appeared beneath her veil.


    Leaving the scene swiftly, she disappeared from her spot with ease.

    "Ah!" Fei Yu screamed as her hair was pulled back by a chubby hand. The owner scoffing as she stared at the screaming girl in mockery.


    "Aren''t you the Young miss Fei Yu? The daughter of the right prime minister? Why are you hanging out with a strange nameless person who refuses to show her identity? For all you know she would be a poor civilian or better yet, your household maid!" A girl wearing a plain dark green robe laughed as she walked, her right hand pointing to Fei Yu Xuan.


    "Exactly, exactly. What is someone prestigious like you doing with a nameless weirdo!" Another girl to the right of the participant currently tugging on the screaming Fei Yu''s yelled out as her laughter was even more loud than the one who mocked the girl before. She even put up her right hand and covered her mouth while laughing.


    "Let go of me!" Fei Yu screamed as she struggled within the grasp of the chubby girl, who had her arms crossed, her cheeks curved up in a sadistic smile.


    "Why should I?Although I never expected the daughter of the Right Prime Minister to be with a nameless person from a unknown background." She suddenly narrowed her eyes as she released her grip on the handful of strained hair.


    "Say, who is that person, really?" She stared into the eyes of Fei Yu who was currently clutching a part of her hair which had been grabbed.


    Scowling, Fei Yu stood up.


    "Why should I tell you? I still remember the time when you insulted us on the way to the archery grounds!" Fei Yu spoke harshly while dusting herself off.


    "You-!" She was about to say something when suddenly her eyes widened. Her mouth opened as she stared speechless my at the figure who had just appeared.


    The figure then slowly turned towards the scruffy Fei Yu who was still rubbing her head where her hair had been pulled from.


    "Are you ok?" The voice asked without emotion, her amethyst staring like the void, unreadable.


    Fei Yu looked a bit shocked before she stuttered out a ''yes''.


    Then the figure with a veil that covered their face then turned towards the chubby girl who pulled Fei Yu''s hair.


    "Say, if I pulled out all your hair...will you leave me alone?"
