《False Aisle》 1 Prologue: The Healer I was watching my two friends kill and fight a bunch of ogres in the field of the kingdom. This was their quest that needed to be finished before sunset. I was looking at Gwendlyn who was one of my ''friends''. She was born a noble and class of Battlemage, a rare class. ''''Take this!'''' she shouted as she sliced in half the body of the orc while I looked at Roi killing his enemy with his big metallic hammer and creating a seismic wave as he pounded the enemies'' body. It was a one-sided battle to be honest since they were born as a ''2nd rate class'' and their quest was for beginners only. ''''Hey, Marvis!'''' Gwendlyn called me because I was standing 15 meters away from them. ''''How are you going to finish your quest if you just standing there like a fool'''' she said then chuckled. I saw Roi tapped her shoulder. ''''Hey, don''t tease him. You already know that he''s a healer.'''' Roi said to her with a serious look. Gwendlyn tied her blue long hair and fix her light plated armor with a crest of their family a blue lion on the right shoulder. Her white skin and oceanic eyes, She''s prettier than the actual princess of the kingdom. While Roi, a 6ft tall guy wearing also a heavy armor with crest of their family which was a Big shield with a sword in the middle. His eyes were green, and he had a light brown skin. These two were one of the prodigies in the kingdom of Aresian. While I was born with a 5th rate class in family full of recognize warrior. I was a big shame in the family that I almost become an outcast. Thankfully, my grandparent was there to save me. The two of them started walking towards me. I was wearing a white robe and holding a brown staff. I was standing like a fool while looking at them and smiling. ''''Did the two of you complete your quest?'''' I asked. ''''Of course, it was an easy quest. Even a single warrior class could do it!'''' Gwen told me while smiling. Roi dropped his hammer on the ground and make a loud ''thud'' then he looked at me. ''''I was going to help both of you, but I think you don''t need my healing anymore...'''' I looked down. I only have two skills Healing wave and Holy light. Healing wave was a minor heal for three to five persons, good enough to remove some small bruises and wounds on the body while the Holy light was a skill that could be used for one person only which also did the same thing on the healing wave but it dealt damage on the undead enemies. Both Roi and Gwen sigh. ''''We don''t care about your healing magic, Marvis.'''' Roi said. Ouch. ''''We have our very own skill to heal ourselves so don''t worry about us, okay?'''' Gwen told me then I reply with a nod. Roi have passive Regen while Gwen have her very own life steal. I know I was a hindrance; I couldn''t fight monster since I don''t have a skill that deal with damage. I also didn''t have enough strength to fight them with a sword. ''''S-sorry¡'''' I said with a low voice. ''''D-don''t worry next time¡ I will stop joining in your group. Since, you need to take an advance quest in order to become stronger. So, as a friend I will only support you because I''m a hindrance in your progress.'''' I told them. Roi and Gwen looked at each other. ''''Thank you, Marvis. Don''t worry, if both of us become a general one day. We promise the we will pick you as our right hand!!'''' Gwen said while holding my hand. Roi put his hand on Gwen shoulder. ''''We need to go now since we still have important things to do.'''' He told me. He grabbed his hammer on the ground and started walking towards the entrance of the kingdom. I looked at Gwen and she gave me a big hug. ''''Don''t worry about us. Also, that guy is quite annoyed since you didn''t even try finishing your quest.'''' She said. She smiled then started running towards Roi and waved at me. She even tried to convince Roi to give me a ''farewell'' wave, but Roi didn''t even hunch. I also started walking towards my house that my grandparents gave to me. My father kicked me in the mansion when I was 5, when my family learned that my class was a healer. Even my mother cried in shame and started cursing at me like I was a demon. My family was known for being the best Blade Masters and Warriors in the kingdom of Aresian. Being a healer was not a problem, but the kingdom itself. The Kingdom of Aresian was recognize because of its astonishing Military power. We always won war and the kingdom also has the perfect record for conquering and defending against Demonic Invasion. The Kingdom didn''t recognize the Healer class since Mages could cast devastating spell and use healing magic too. Some warriors could do that too. While if you were a healer your only job was to heal not to fight which was not a good kind of class in the country that was always in war. My family was recognized in the kingdom for being the descendants of a great general. Which was my father, the current general in the kingdom while my brother was next and my sister was recognize as prodigy like Roi and Gwendlyn. That''s why when my grandparents saved me from them, they forbid me from using my real surname which is ''Asharion''. As soon as I entered the Town of Spada which is located near at the kingdom of Aresian. The town was crowded because is the main road heading to the kingdom and most of the merchants are located in here, as well. I started walking and covered my face with the hood of my robe. There was a lot of people shouting, buying and selling some stuff: ''''Buy some fresh Cheesecake!'''' ''''New forged item is on sale!'''' ''''Trading house is soon to be open, please fall in line!!'''' As I walked towards the house that my grandparents provide for me. It was not actually a house but an Inn, the owners were somewhat my grandparents'' close friend so they bought some room that I could live in. I opened the door and I saw Old man Yop cleaning the floor, the owner of this inn and Ms. Vanis talking to some random drunk guys stealing money again. She was pretty and sexy, but her class was Thief, so I didn''t somewhat trust her. Then there was Mr. Flugar a middle-aged man wearing a chef hat while delivering some foods on the dinner table. The Inn was on the upper floor since the ground floor was like a pub. ''''Ah--. Marvis, I have a letter for you.'''' Old Man Yop suddenly told me then suddenly a magic circle appears on his hand then a white envelope suddenly teleported on his hand¡ I remember that Mr. Yop was a Mage class, but his specialty was Teleportation Magic. ''''Your grandma sent this to me, and she told me that give it to you.'''' Old-man Yop told me. I smiled at him ''''Thanks, Mr. Yop.'''' ''''Don''t worry about it, Marvis. Tell me if you want something to eat, ''kay?'''' he told me and winked at me before he started wiping the floor again. At first, I thought he was just a cleaner in this pub but when I learned that his was the owner of this place, I was quite surprised. I started walking again towards the stairs and climbed up until I reached the third floor. As I walked, I could hear weird moans and groan in the second floor. ''''I think Ms. Dansel is quite busy today, huh.'''' I muttered. I opened my room and lock the door. I changed my clothes and sat on the chair. I grabbed the scroll on the table and picked some needle. I pricked my index finger with the needle enough to make it bleed. I poured the little blood on the scroll and chant ''Status Update''. The scroll start glowing for three seconds then it stops. This is the way how we determine our strength and class. I opened the scroll: [ Name: Marvis Asharion Class: Healer (E) Stats: Str: 26 Dex: 15 Int: 25 Agi: 19 Skills: Healing wave -A light wave that can heal multiple people. It only heals bruises and light wounds. Holy Light -It heals one person only, but it heals s deeper wounds and remove minor negative buff on the certain body. The light also deals with damage on undead minions. ] I remembered seeing Roi and Gwen stats. Roi''s strength and Dexterity were 102 and 104. While Gwen''s Int and Agility were also in 100 cap and some of their stats were above 80 as well. I wonder what happened, my stats were so low that even some beginner monster were much stronger than me. I think this was the reason why my family was so disappointed in me because of being weak¡ I scratched my forehead. ''''God, I''m the biggest failure in the history.'''' I said to myself. I looked at the mirror and I saw my light blue eye with my dark brown hair. I almost look like my father¡ I suddenly remembered the letter that my grandma gave to me. I grabbed the letter on the pocket of my robe which is hanging in the closet. I opened the envelope and I saw a white tiny stone and a letter. I grabbed the stone which is attached on the lace that I didn''t notice. ''''I see, It''s a necklace a gift from my grandma.'''' I smiled. I instantly wore it and it looked good on me. Then I grabbed the letter. I opened and saw my grandma''s cursive writing: ''Marvis, I am here to say that your grandfather Arvin died. I asked your father if you can attend the funeral, but he refused. But your grandfather wants you to have his lucky necklace. He said that someday you will be a better healer. I also knew that you were a blessing from the family, me and your grandfather knew that. Do not worry. I will still be helping you and provide your basic needs. I knew that this will be hard for you but remember I will still be here, protecting and praying for your success. Take care and I will pray on the goddess for your safety. -Grandma Ellice'' My tears wouldn''t stop from falling in my eyes as soon as I read that my grandfather died. It''s been a year since the last time I saw him since my family forbid me from entering their vicinity. I lay down on the bed and wiped my tears. ''''How lucky am I that my grandparents still call me a ''Blessing'' '''' I said. I want to be strong I need to be strong, but it would be impossible if I do it in here. This kingdom is only for people who have a class for fighting. I need to find someone or somewhere that can help to improve my ability as a healer! I will be an adventurer and I will comeback as a better healer. I will show them how to be a healer! 2 CHAPTER I: Courage Chapter I Chapter I Marvis. (Town of Spada, Located in the Eastern part of territory of Kingdom Aresian) (7:00 in the morning) *knock *knock *knock. I squinted my eyes before opening it because of this someone who kept knocking on my door. ''''ugh¡.'''' I groaned. *knock *knock ''''Mr. Furlock! ~'''' I heard the voice of Ms. Dansel shouting behind my door while knocking loudly. As I stood up, I saw the letter on the floor. I let out a sigh before picking it up. I put it in the closet of my table. I cannot let my sadness overtake me¡ I already cried for like 4 hours last night, that''s enough. ''''Mr. Furlock? ~Are you awake?? The breakfast is ready!'''' She said with a charming voice. I opened the door and I saw her wearing a yellow new dress¡ She was one of the caretakers of this inn. Her cheerful eyes, bright smile, pale white skin and blonde hair made her gorgeous, but she was a prostitute. ''''Thank you for reminding me again, Ms. Dansel.'''' I said to her and smile. ''''Don''t worry sweetheart~'''' she said then pinched my cheeks before start walking. She also had a weird class that lead her to become a prostitute but she''s B rank. In my opinion she looks strong but in a different way. I locked the door then started walking towards the hall. There were 10 people who lived in this Inn, but I didn''t know or care about them. Most of them were just renting some rooms. I decided last night that I would train to make myself stronger but to do that I needed to leave in this town and travel to another kingdom to learn new things. It was like being an adventure I needed to learn new things from new people, a new way to gain experience. I was lucky that my grandparents supported me financially because I didn''t have to work to earn money. I needed to take some quest to earn money. It was difficult to earn money in this era since everyone was monopolizing everything even monster. That was why stronger or noble people were always the one who have the advantage of being a rich while the other low class are struggling to survive. When I reached the ground floor where the pub located. I saw Mr. Yop carrying a tray with a bunch of foods: eggs, rice pudding, and side bread with a slime syrup. ''''Did you cry all night, Kid?'''' I heard vanis who was eating some bread while laughing. ''''Did your lover break up with you? HAHAHA'''' She said then laugh. Mr. Yop looked at me and I thought he knew why I cried last night. I sat on the nearest table with a chair and Old Man Yop bring the food and place it on my table. ''''Sorry for your loss, Marvis'''' He said then he tapped my head. ''''Your grandfather Arvin was a good friend. It also saddened me when I heard the news.'''' He said to me then he gave a little smile before leaving. Then, I remembered something. ''''Mr. Oppal!'''' I called him. Old man Yop look back at me then he started walking. His real name was Yeoman Oppal a Navigator Class. His Class was focusing in Teleportation and portal magic he was also a C-rank. ''''What is it?'''' He asked. ''''Do you know some place that where I can learn how to become a healer?'''' I asked at him. He was an adventurer before opening an Inn and Pub. So, maybe he knew something or someone that might help me. ''''I see.'''' He said. ''''Eat your breakfast first then I will tell you something about becoming a healer.'''' He said then winked at me before leaving. I smiled then started eating my breakfast. After finishing my breakfast. I saw Mr. Yop and Ms. Dansel walking towards my direction while talking to each other. ''''Ahhh¡'''' I hear Mr. Yop said then both him and Ms. Dansel sit. ''''I heard from Yeoman that you want to travel in order to become a strong healer.'''' Ms. Dansel said as she looked at me with a question on her eyes. I nodded as an answer. ''''She can help you.'''' Mr. Yop said then he looked at me ''''She know someone that might help you in your progress.'''' He said. To be honest, I didn''t trust anyone in here except Mr. Yop. I gulped and when I looked to Ms. Dansel, she immediately noticed that I do not trust her. ''''Don''t force yourself, Mr. Furlock.'''' She murmured. ''''If you want to go alone it''s fine by me, but I don''t know if it''s okay to him...'''' she suddenly looked at Mr. Yop. ''''It is fine for me too.'''' He said. ''''You were like my grandson in here Marvis, but let''s be honest that a healer cannot survive alone. You will die if you enter to a dungeon.'''' He continued. I already knew that¡ That I couldn''t be strong without someone helping me but I was ready to do anything in order to be strong. I was willing to sacrifice anything even myself. ''''That face is enough to show me your determination.'''' He said stood up then he started walking towards his office then he looked back at me. ''''What are you waiting for? '''' He asked me before entering to the room. I got up quickly and I saw Ms. Dansel grinning at me the she spanked my butt. I ran to the room when I entered. ''''Woah...'''' I exclaimed when I saw Mr. Yop hand glowing in blue. ''''Mark One to Mark three¡'''' He drew a big circle in the air using his palm then a blue portal suddenly appeared. I couldn''t see what was on the other side of the portal. ''''This is one of the Skill of being a Navigator Class.'''' He said. ''''I still need to prepare my things before going.'''' I said then chuckled. ''''No worries. I let Ms. Dansel prepare your things.'''' He said to me then he grabbed something on the floor then I saw a sling bag. ''''Money and water and a little bit of food is in here.'''' ''''How about the clothes---- Woahh...!'''' he suddenly throws the bag to me, but I caught it. ''''Adventurer don''t need clothes they always buy a new one.'''' He gestured at me to come I walked slowly to feel the moment until I reached the front of the portal. I could feel the mana coming from the portal I also smelled something¡ ''''The portal¡ It smells like a tree.'''' I said. I heard Mr. Yop laugh. ''''Of course, Mark three will lead you in the forest of Talem.'''' Forest of Talem was located at the nearest border to another kingdom which is the Poseidous. It would take me two days if I started travelling starting in the town of spada towards to the border. Luckily, he could teleport me to the border without wasting anytime. I looked at Mr. Yop ''''Thank you so much for everything.'''' ''''I will be promised that one day I will be a successful healer'''' I continued while looking at him. He just smiled at me. ''''Go, I''m going to missed you too. Mr. Asharion. Good luck on your journey may the gods bless you.'''' He said. I bowed down before stepping forward but--. ''''--I almost forgot¡'''' when I looked back Mr. Yop give me a wooden staff. ''''Thank you!'''' I said. I bowed my head again then took a step forward to the portal. When I entered through the portal, I could feel that my body was being absorb but in a second, I saw myself in the middle of the woods of Talem. I looked back but the portal was already gone. ''''Fall in line!!'''' I ran towards that voice then I saw a line full of peoples. Some of them were adventurers, merchants or just a commoner who wanted to visit. The line was not that long it consisted of eight people. Then I saw a big gate made from a titanium alloy. Guarded by a knight from the palace. ''''Hey-!'''' one of the knights of Aresian saw me behind the trees. They wearing a light plated crimson armored even their helm. Their armor has the crest of the Kingdom. Which is a Claw of the dragons with two spears crossed in the middle. I walked towards the end of the line then the knight who called me approached at me. ''''Are you hiding behind that tree?'''' The knight asked. ''''N-no sir¡ I was lost in the forest of Talem.'''' ''''State your purpose before leaving in the kingdom.'''' The knight asked again. ''''I''m going to an adventure and learning something new?'''' I answered then gulped. He looked at me with his sharp eye he suddenly looked at my staff. ''''I see you were a mage, Approved.'''' He suddenly said. ''''LET THEM THROUGH!!'''' He shouted then line started moving forward. The knights from the Kingdom of Aresian were strong mostly of them are C and B ranks. This six people in that guarding the Border could kill multiple monster without sweating. Thanks to the staff they thought that I was a mage. I would be humiliated when they learned I''m a healer. I let out a small sigh. When I got through the gate the people started grouping themselves. Five of them were adventurers While the other three were just a full of merchant and one commoner. ''''Hey! You said that you were a mage?'''' One of the adventurers asked me. He was a wearing a chain mail with a round metallic shield and a silver sword. The other two adventurer were wearing the same as him, but their weapons were different. One was a flail and the other one is double-handed axe. The other two were archers, they both used longbow. ''''''Y-yes¡'''' I answered. A big smiled suddenly appeared on his face. ''''That''s great! Can you join in my group?'''' He said then pointed to his friends. ''''We were going to a dungeon a shortcut towards to the nearest town but were lacking some magic and healing since you were mage you can help us!'''' He said. I scratch my cheeks. ''''I-im sorry¡ I cannot join since I need to do something before going to town¡'''' I rejected his offer since I was not a mage. He tapped my shoulder. ''''I see. You are a weakling.'''' He said while looking disgusted at me. He walked back to his group. The merchants might know someone or somewhere I looked at them, but they were quite far already. They were riding on the carriage. I dashed towards to them. ''''H-hey...!!'''' I yelled. One of the merchants heard me then he stopped then the other one stop as well. When I reached them the merchant suddenly asked me? ''''Need a ride? It only cost 5 silver.'''' ''''Y-yes.'''' I grab some money in the bag then It was exactly 5 silver then I give it to the merchant. He grabbed the money then he looked at me. ''''I''m David. By the way I thought you were mage? You should go with those adventurers. It is really a good shortcut and it would only take you two hours.'''' He said. I climbed to his carriage then I sat near at him. ''Giddy yup!'' he said then the horse start walking. ''''I''m not actually a mage¡'''' I said. When I looked at the bag then I saw a robe then I wear it. ''''I see. What''s your class anyway?'''' he asked. ''''I''m actually a healer class.'''' I said but he suddenly laughed even the other merchant laugh too. I rolled my eyes. ''''I''m serious.'''' They stopped laughing. ''''How did you even survive at the kingdom?!'''' David ask me. ''''That would be hard since the Kingdome of Aresian, Dislike the healer class.'''' The other merchant said. ''''By the way, I''m Gissum.'''' He said then I smiled at him. ''''You''re a very lucky person when you survived as a healer in that kingdom¡ Good lord.'''' David said. ''''As far as I remember they always tortured if someone was a healer class¡ That kingdom really hates the healer class, don''t they?'''' Gissum said. David agreed with him One of the main reasons why they hate the healer class because on the 4th war the Aresian Kingdom almost lost at the Holy empire of Exodus. The king of Aresian that time was publicly executed by the hand of the Saints. Even the Aresian won at the war the king was dead and publicly humiliated. That was why when they heard or learn people in their kingdom was a healer, they also doing the same thing. They tortured them and publicly humiliated them most of them died. Suddenly the horses stopped. ''''What''s wrong?'''' I asked. I saw David looking intensely at the road. My eyes widen when I saw two big and brawny orcs. Their green skins and bulky body wearing a plated armor they are 6ft tall and their weapons was on the ground because their eating something in the middle of the road. ''''We might have a chance running back to the border¡'''' David whispered at me. I saw Gissum then the other person which is a girl they were trying to walked back slowly. ''''ACchkk!!!'''' We saw a blue troll at the side of the forest shouting while pointing at us. ''''Run!!!'''' Gissum shouted. Me and David jumped on the carriage but suddenly a small axe pierced on his head. The blood splashes into my face. But I''m still running towards the woods. I saw the two orcs run towards Gissum and the other girl. ''''HELPP MEE!!! Ughhck!'''' I heard Gissum voice. I quickly hide on the rock I peeked at them then I saw that they are smashing gissum head into a pile of meat. ''''Where''s the other girl?'''' I looked around but I couldn''t see her. I only see the dead bodies of David and Gissum and that blue troll who''s hoarding the item inside of the carriage. My heart was beating so fast that they might hear it¡ When they''re done smashing David and Gissum body I saw one of them grabbed someone on the ground. ''''That''s the girl--!'''' I whispered then covered my mouth. The blue troll who''s collecting the item from the carriage suddenly looked at my direction, but I hid myself again. I hear the steps of that troll slowly walking towards to my place. ''''Vu''in!'''' The orc shouted. ''''Carry this loot.'''' It said. I heard their footstep fading when I looked again, they were gone. ''''God help me¡'''' my body is trembling from fear of getting killed by those monsters. Am I going to save that girl?? I slap myself because I need to realize that I couldn''t kill those monsters I''m just going to die. I stood up slowly and I can feel both of my feet still trembling. ''''I''m not going to save that girl¡'''' I said to myself. I already knew that I was going to die if I tried to help her. I looked again to that direction where the orcs taken. ''''for god sake¡'''' I sighed then started walking towards that direction I avoided the dead bodies of these two merchants. 3 Chapter II: Unexpected Feeling I have this eerie feeling that someone was watching me, as I keep walking in the middle of the forest. I''m following the tracks of the two orcs and the other troll. It was big enough to see in the ground. I''m following this track for two hours and I never thought that the orcs would walk this fast. I never fought one of them or hunt one of them I usually hide if I saw one. I already thought that if I walk balk towards to the Gate of Talem the knights wouldn''t believe me because they knew that the kingdom doesn''t raised a weakling mage. As I followed the tracks of the orc, I can feel that someone is following me and hiding from the bushes. I tightened my grip on my wooden staff. ''''I need to be brave.'''' I looked at the tracks for a moment my eyes widen when I realized that the footprints of that small troll suddenly disappeared. A rustling sound from the bushes behind me but when I looked back the sound was instantly gone. ''''Human¡'''' I heard the voice of that little troll, but I couldn''t find it. I readied my staff. ''''Come out you little troll¡'''' Maybe I can fight this monster. Blue trolls are mostly called forest troll they''re E rank monster, maybe I have a chance to kill it. ''''Huwaahh!!'''' The blue troll suddenly leaped at me with a knife from his hand. I took a step back to avoid its attack then I swing my wooden staff to hit that monster. ''''Acckkk!!'''' it shouted from pain when I successfully hit the troll abdomen. The monster gazed at me I saw the troll hand started gripping the knife then a loud noised he suddenly released ''''Eccccckk!!!'''' The troll was enraged. The monster lunged at me. Trying to dodge the blow that I sidestepped but it was for naught the knife still struck me fortunately it was only the edge that grazed the right side of my body "Shit..." if i only knew this would happen i would had ran away. The wound was not critical but if this battle goes on i might as well die on blood loss I want to cast my healing spell, but It would take some time to cast it. The blue troll lunged at me again, but I blocked it with my attack then I pushed it using my staff and hit its head. The troll tumbled on the ground when my staff hit its head. He dropped his weapon, but I immediately kick it away from that monster and start hitting him again with my wooden staff. ''''Take this!!'''' I hit it with the staff repeatedly. This staff is made from the natural wood of aresian, it had a good durability. ''''uraghhhhh¡s-stop¡.'''' I heard the monster, but I still hit it as hard as I can until I can feel the blood splashing into my hand. ''''Take this!! Take this you stupid monster!!'''' I can feel that I''m smiling like a maniac as a I killed the troll with my staff. Is this the feeling of killing and destroying your opponent? Because I really loved what I''m feeling right now. ''''Hiyah!! Hiyah!!'''' I continuously hit the monster face until the bone from the monster skull started breaking. ''''I kill a monster¡'''' I babbled. My hands are trembling with excitement because I made my first achievement of killing a Monster as a healer!! ''''Now, I should be going to follow the track again.'''' I said to myself. I looked at the track of the orc then I saw the knife that I kick, and I picked it immediately then put it in my sling bag. I followed the trailed again and leave the dead body of that troll. I still cannot believe that I already killed a monster. It was a first-time experience and I want to do it again, but I need to be strong. I suddenly remembered those two orcs. Orc are considered as D to C-rank monster depend on their races but those two orcs that I saw are called Forest orc they are very aggressive, but they are the weaker type of orcs. I''m an E-rank so fighting them would be hard and I might die too. ''''I need a plan¡'''' I whispered as I keep walking. After saving that girl I need an escape plan so both of us survived. ''''I never saw that girl face.'''' I remembered that she was wearing a hooded robe before getting abducted. ''''AHHHHH HELPP MEE!!!'''' I heard a loud cried and that was the voice of the girl. I hid on the trees as a I keep moving forward to that noise. While I''m getting close to that noise I crawled and peeked. My eyes widen when I saw that girl was getting burned alive. ''''Holy sh---'''' I covered myself and hid again behind the trees. I peeked again then I saw the girl she was already dead while her body was burned into crisp and of course she was naked! There are three forest orcs sharpening their knifes because they knew that the girl was going to be their lunch. ''''YOU BASTARD!!'''' I looked to another person who shouted. The person was women she looks like in mid-thirties she got a very short haired and she was wearing a leather-amor and she had a metallic knuckle both on her hands. ''For fuck sake, what are you doing¡'' I whispered. The three orcs charged at her, but she also dashed towards to the orc and start punching them with her metallic knuckle. The first orc who attacked her get punched on the gut and the face. The second orc was going to slam her with the club, but she avoided it with a simple sidestepping. ''''Devastating slam.'''' I heard women said then her right hand was glowing in red when she punched the second orc using the right hand the orc body flew and the body hit on the tree. ''''Serves you right.'''' She said. The third orc roared in anger and start attacking her with an axe, but she easily dodged it. The first orc who got up grab his weapon which also a club. The women didn''t notice the first orc because she was occupied dodging and attacking the third orc. I need to help her or else she''s going to die. This is the chance to help someone as a healer. ''''Look back!'''' I shouted. The women looked at me with shock in her eyes, but it was too late the first orc smash her body using the club she stumbled on the ground. ''''Urghhh¡'''' She groaned in pain. I need to helped her casting healing spell is a good idea because the orcs wouldn''t attacked me since i''m on the high ground. The third orc who''s using the axe looked at me then he snorted. I raised my right hand pointed my staff on the women body. ''''Holy light!!'''' I shouted. A white beam from the sky suddenly struck on the women body. Her body was healed, and the bruised was also healed. She looked at me and nodded as thanks for helping her. She only took five minutes to kill those two orcs. I only casted holy light two times to help her I let out a sigh. But this time I didn''t get those feeling when I killed the troll. The women looked at the girl burned and dead body. ''''I didn''t run fast enough to save this girl.'''' She said with a low voice. I also cannot save her since I arrived too late, she was already cooked. The women looked at me with her bright green eyes. ''''Name, Class and rank.'''' She commanded to me. ''''M-marvis, Healer and E- E rank¡'''' I stuttered. ''''I see.'''' She replied. ''''That''s the reason you were too afraid to fight this forest orcs.'''' She said then looked on the dead bodies of the orcs. ''''Are you from the town of storm?'''' she asked. I shake my head as an answer. ''''Then where?'''' she asked again. ''''Town of Spada from the kingdom of Aresian.'''' I answered then I heard her say ''impossible''. ''''are you saying to me that you a healer survived in the kingdom of Aresian?!'''' she asked then laughed. ''''Stop fooling around. Come, follow me I knew a shortcut towards to the town.'''' She told me then started walking and I rushed on her side to follow her. ''''So, what are you going to do in the Town of Storms?'''' ''''I want to learn how become healer to gained experience and to changed class too.'''' I replied. ''''Change class huh.'''' She said as we keep walking. ''''I think you already knew that knowledge is enough to changed class, you need a real experience.'''' She told me. Changing class is automatic that was why people were constantly checking their stats. Our body wouldn''t know if we changed class is just automatically and randomly distributed by the gods. It was true that real experience is needed to change class but that was what I lacked. I couldn''t use my ability in the field of the kingdom. They always thought that I''m a mage who know nothing about offensive type of magic. I never fought a monster I just always watched my friends Roi and Gwen when they do their daily quest. I always lacked in real experience but not in observation because that''s what I only do. I didn''t replied when she said those thing we just walked in silence, I just wanted to experience that feeling when I killed that troll. Because that feeling was very common in my family''s blood. ''Bloodlust'' 4 Chapter III: Misunderstanding It took almost 3 hours of walking until we reached the town of storms. I was quite exhausted because of some monsters we encountered in the path before reaching the town. Luckily this woman easily handled them with my help by healing her. Because of that I was low in mana, I needed to take a break. Our mana flowed like blood inside our body and that was the reason why we could feel and determine the mana in our bodies. If we constantly used our skills, the mana would deplete, leading to exhaustion. Further depletion of mana would result to fatigue. Casters like me needed to control and use our mana wisely. Certain classes didn''t need mana when using a skill, instead they used energy or blood. Sun was still up but there were few people in town. The town was peaceful and you could hear the wave of the sea. Two soldiers were guarding the gate of the town, wearing blue plated chain mails and both holding a spear. ''''Keida Balfrodoust.'''' She said. ''''I know someone. He lived near at east entrance¡ª '''' then she pointed at the east side of the town. ''''Follow me, I''ll show you his house because I need to report something to him also.'''' She started walking towards east side of the town. As I followed her, I was looking around then realized that most people who passed us always greeted Ms. Balfrodoust. That made me wonder if she were a noble or an enforcer in the town. Suddenly, when I looked at the alley, I saw someone looking at Ms. Balfrodoust. I couldn''t identify the person''s gender since it was looking at the dark alley the shadow of the house covering its face, but I could see the dark blue eyes carefully looking at Ms. Balfrodoust. ''''I wonder¡'''' As I looked at that person, our eyes met. Both of us looked startled. I avoided that person''s gaze but that person was already running towards the alley. Ms. Balfrodoust suddenly stopped from walking and looked at me. ''''Don''t mind them. Also, don''t look at them.'''' She continued from walking again. I wondered if she knew that person. Meanwhile, we arrived at the big manor. For me, it looked like a guild house. ''''This is my guild house.'''' She said. ''''I''m not the guild master but one of the members that I knew can help you.'''' She continued. She knocked on the door, but the door suddenly opened with a creepy creaking sound. Huh, right now. Why am I starting to doubt her? if I entered this place, I might get killed or kidnapped and get my precious body sold on the underground market. She saved my life, why was I doubting her? The house was not creepy at all, it was just big and old¡ There was also a signboard but for some reasons the words were quite confusing¡ ''''B-L-U-E¡ What?'''' I tried to read it, but I was only able to read the word ''Blue''. Half of the signboard was covered in dust. ''''It''s Blue brigades.'''' I saw Ms. Balfrodoust already inside of the house. ''''That''s the name of the guild.'''' She gestured me to ''come in''. As I walked to the door, I saw a wood carving on the upper part of the entrance: two swords pierced into the head of a dragon. I guessed that was their crest. Creating guilds consisting of different people was quite hard because people often called them cults instead of ''guilds'' since most famous guilds were created by a famous noble family. A lot of strong big guilds around the world and some nations feared them. I entered the manor. The air was calm and I let out a sigh. I realized that I was not going to get sold at the black market today. I saw Ms. Balfrodoust standing at the hall, waiting for me. I saw someone beside and it was a priest-looking guy. He was wearing a black robe with a cross sign on the right shoulders and he was also holding a book. I guessed he''s the guy¡ just by looking at him I could already feel the holiness. ''''Glad to see one of Ms. Balfrodoust acquaintances.'''' He suddenly said to me then he smiled. He waw somewhat in his thirties the same as Ms. Balfrodoust. He got a blonde hair and a pale white skin. ''''Mr. Furlock, a healer class.'''' I introduced myself then bowed my head. The hall was big, it had three sofa circled to each other and a lot of bookshelves. There was a stair on the corner that leads to the upper floor of the house. The interior was made from a fine wood and the light from the chandelier was enough to cover the whole hall of the manor which was nice. ''''You like the place?'''' I heard the priest guy asked. Keida sat on the sofa while the priest guy sat beside her. He gestured me to sit-down. ''Comfy...'' I thought. My bottom and feet feel relaxed after sitting on the sofa. Glad to take a break for a while. I looked at them and they were whispering something, but I didn''t mind it. ''''My name is Imriel. I''m the support of this guild and I heard that Keida¡ª '''' he looked at her then back at me with his serious face ''''¡ªshe said that you want to learn how to be a good healer.'''' ''''Y-yes, I''m willing to pay.'''' I instantly grabbed the money in my bag, but he stopped me. ''''I''m not willing to help you.'''' When he said that I was surprised, even Keida. I couldn''t tell if he were joking or not since he said it with a dead serious face. ''''Unless you join the guild.'''' And that also surprised me. I didn''t have any plan on joining other guilds because it would only cause trouble. This man, I didn''t have any idea why he wanted to recruit me all of a sudden. ''''H-hey. We can''t just force someone to join in our guild¡'''' I heard Keida said to him. ''''But I cannot just teach someone. You said that he only helped you battling against does filthy orcs.'''' ''''At least he helped me. Looked, he healed all my wounds! Isn''t that impressive?!'''' she said pointing at her body where some of her wounds were located. ''''I see. But I''m only going to teach him today, until tomorrow of twelve in the afternoon.'''' He looked at me, but I avoided his gaze, pretending not to know what''s happening. ''''Okay, Mr. Furlock. Let''s have a deal.'''' When I heard him talk to me, I sat up straight then looked at him with a serious face. I had reasons why I didn''t like guilds, mostly because of my family problems and the other reason was, I never liked joining guilds. ''''Our guild is lacking members and we need another one to complete the requirements or our guild will be disbanded. I''m willing to teach you to become a good healer and help you to rank up your class. I''m a Light Emissary Class and a B-rank.'''' ''Wow, he is really serious about me joining their guild'' I thought. I guessed they were desperate to reach the requirements. I scratched my head because I was having a hard time to choose, but I knew if I accepted the offer, I would receive a lot of benefits. I could tell that this guild already had a good and strong members even though I never saw the other members and he was willing to teach me until I rank up. Which was good but I would be useless in this guild. The downside of rejecting this offer was I wasted a lot of my time and something happened in this guild. I stood up and let out a small sigh. ''''Sorry, I-I cannot accept that. Thank you for your time anyway.'''' I bowed my head. Then I walked out of the Manor. I didn''t look back and I didn''t get to see the reaction on their faces, but I knew that they were shocked with my decision. Rejecting that beautiful offer of Mr. Imriel. The sun was already down, and I needed to find the nearest inn in this town. As I walked away from the manor, I asked some people where I could find some inn so I could rest. The women I asked told me that I needed to go straight from the alley. She pointed at the alley where I saw the person who kept staring at us earlier. As I walked in the alley, a cold wind suddenly hit my face maybe because the town was near at the sea. There were two or three lamp posts in this alley, enough to make me think I was safe. I tightened my grip on my wooden staff for some assurance. The fire from the second lamp post suddenly disappeared. I stopped, then the fire from the lamp started to lit again. Then suddenly a person appeared, leaning on the lamp post. I looked back and I didn''t see anyone walking to this alley¡ *clap. I heard a clap then my body suddenly stopped from moving. My hands, feet, eyes and mouth won''t move. This person casted paralysis spell on me. For the love of God, I was just an E rank. Why was this kind of stuff happening to me?! I could hear the person''s footsteps walking towards me. The spell only lasted for 10 seconds but it depends on the person''s resistance and the skill level of the person who used it. In my situation, I didn''t have a high resistance to this kind of effect but only 8 seconds had passed but I could feel that some parts of my body were moving. ''Shit¡!'' I shouted on my mind as I kept resisting to the Paralysis spell. When the spell stopped working. I swung my staff, but I got stabbed in the right shoulder with a short sword. The person suddenly pulled back the short sword but I stopped it with my left hand. The person was wearing a leather hood enough to cover the face but right now I was staring at that person with ''her'' deep blue eyes. ''''A fucking girl¡'''' I said then groaned in pain. I pushed her away from me. I pulled the short sword in my right shoulder, a quick pain rushed through my body. The wound was deep and I couldn''t move my right hand due to the pain. I held the staff with my left hand and prepared myself for the next attack. The girl suddenly grabbed something on her left thigh and she threw it at me, it was a knife. I deflected it with my staff, but she dashed at me with her speed, I couldn''t react. I groaned as I tried to pull out the short sword that was impaled in my right shoulder, the pain ran through the entirety of my body. Damn, I couldn''t feel my right arm anymore. I hurriedly grasped the staff which was broken in half due to the impact. I held the staff high preparing myself for the incoming attack. The girl drew another short sword behind on her left thigh and threw it straight at me. I parried with my staff but the girl dashed to me the sword was just a decoy. ''''Holy--! Arghh!'''' I tried to cast ''holy light'' in despair to defend myself but she was too swift for me. A knife was pierced on my right leg. Losing my balance, I fell down. She stabbed my right leg over and over again. ''''Arghhh!!'''' I howled in pain. Its fucking hurts, I didn''t even know why this girl attacked me. Shit¡ Am I really going to die today? I don''t want to die¡ ''''Why did you join.'''' I heard the girl asked. I tried my best to look at her, the light of the moon struck her face. This psychotic and beautiful girl asking me question that I didn''t really know. ''''They don''t even need you!!'''' She shouted then stabbed my right leg again. ''''Arghhh¡ªS-stop--!!'''' I begged on her. She looked disgusted as I said those word¡ As a weakling I need to know my place, begging to avoid death. ''''WHY DID YOU JOIN THEIR GUILD?!'''' She shouted in anger. "Wait what guild? Did I even join a guild?'' I just realized what she was talking about. My prediction was right. Something really happened on the Blue Brigades, this fucking girl thought I joined that guild. ''''I didn''t¡.'''' ''''What? I couldn''t hear you.'''' ''''I said I didn''t accept their offer!'''' I shouted. She was surprised by my answered and suddenly her hands started trembling. ''''S-sorry, I-I didn''t mean to raise my voice¡'''' I thought she was going to stab me again. I looked at my right leg, I couldn''t feel both my right arm and my right leg, great. I couldn''t use my skill to heal myself and I was also exhausted from the fight. I didn''t have any strength to lift my arm to cast a spell. I also thought I was gonna die because of this massive blood loss. ''''I-I''m sorry¡'''' I heard the girl said. I looked at her and her teary eyes, she was going to cry, maybe realizing the mistake she did. "Oh, god¡" I rolled my eyes as she kept repeating the word ''sorry''. I thought this was the end¡ I was slowly losing my vision because of the blood I lost. I guess my life would end here. If I survived, I would kill this girl first-- 5 CHAPTER IV: The Wrath? When I was a kid, I thought I was really a blessing in the family. Being the unique one in the family, the only one who had different class, I was Happy. I was six when I heard that my family disowned me, I was lying down on a greenfield of grass looking at the bright blue sky the wind was refreshingly cold. Suddenly, I heard the voice of my grandfather and my father shouting, they were arguing about someone that needed to be killed or thrown away. I saw them outside the house and my father looked at me with disgust on his face. My grandfather looked at me with a worried face and he gestured me to run, I was about to do that but my father grabbed my hair. He was about to slam me on the ground but the world suddenly shifted. I found myself standing near the River of Fovos. A breezy and sparkling water of the river, I could even see my reflection¡ And I saw my twelve-year-old me. Empty and sad, I guess this was the day when Roi and Gwen became my friends. I was envious about them being special and powerful, they even got recognized just by being born and then there was me. Because, I clearly remembered this was the day when I realized that Roi and Gwen didn''t need me anymore, but I was just being ignorant. I let out a sigh. I remembered there was a story that when you died, the world would show you the moment that you loved the most. I guessed that I did not have one that was why the world was showing this to me! The scene shifted again. I was standing in a dark place. I saw a torch lit and I could hear a rattling sound¡ I''d never been in here before, but it gave me this feeling that this place was a torture room. I immediately looked around and found two children chained on the wall. ''God be damned¡'' I cursed. Both of them were wounded and bleeding and I could hear their moan in pain. I wanted to help them but for some reasons I couldn''t move my feet. It felt like my head was the only thing I could move around. As I looked at them my heart started aching, and it felt like it was shattering. I wanted to replace them because I really hated it when I saw someone torturing little kids. It always reminded me of abandonment and hopelessness because I grew up feeling those things and I really hated it. Maybe this place was the afterlife where people got tortured and punished because of their sins and maybe these children committed something that the gods didn''t like. Even so if the gods did punish us like this, maybe praising them was not a good idea after all. Since they were also the reason why the kingdom of Aresian was always at war because they thought that some ''god'' blessed the country and designated to conquer the world. Maybe I don''t have faith in god, they were supposed to be helping people, but most people ended up suffering but as a healer our faith in god must be strong because they said our healing skill was a blessing from the heavens. I looked away from the children, but the pain stayed in my heart I tried to look at the torch, then suddenly a two shadowy figure with a silhouette of a person appeared. They were approaching in here, but they stopped, I could hear their voices and one of them sounded familiar. ''''Are these her children?'''' The other man with a deep voice asked. ''''Yes, Milord. In three days, they are ready for the annual sacrifice.'''' ''''I see. Keep them in that state and I will comeback in three days to collect these children.'''' ''''As you wish, Milord.'''' ''''The dark horse will bless us.'''' My vision started to blur, I panicked and I looked at the children¡ The boy was looking at me I could see his head looking at my direction. I tried to speak but there was no voice, I just kept shouting ''HELP'' but it was useless it felt like I became mute. As my vision started to disappear and my body started falling on the ground I couldn''t feel anything. Holy shi¡ ''ARGGGG'' I shouted but there was still no sound coming out from my mouth. Something pierced in my right leg I didn''t know what it was, but it felt like a giant needle. I wanted to use my hand, but I couldn''t raise it. Then I felt something like a sharp knife pointing exactly at my heart. My heart started beating faster because I had a fear of getting stabbed and killed and I still remembered clearly what happened to me. I was supposed to be in the afterlife!! Because that girl killed me and I was going to haunt her for killing me without any reason¡ The knife was still pointing at my heart and suddenly it slowly pierced in my body. ''argh¡ STOP!!!'' I tried to shout. ''''You deserve this Marvis. You deserve to die because you''re a mistake in this world.'''' That voice¡ Father?? Do I really deserve this? Was I really a mistake? Does dying fixed everything?? ''''Ah, A grand death. Imagine because of this your family will be happy because of your death.'''' My vision came back, and I saw my father standing while using his feet to push the knife unto my heart. I could feel that my blood was boiling¡ my jaw was tightening and felt the wanting to cry. ''''Goodbye, Marvis--.'''' When the knife penetrated in my heart, I closed my eyes. I could only feel the pain and anger in my body if I could just move. I''m going to kill him and beheaded him in front of my family. If the gods didn''t listen on my cry, then I''d forcefully make them listen to me. It was true after all that dying make you crazy¡ ''''MARVIS!!'''' I suddenly opened my eyes and squinted it. I saw Keida and the girl who stabbed me. I looked around and I saw an old man his hands where glowing in green and I saw my body was also glowing in green. ''''What the¡'''' I held my head. I was confused, I was dead because those vision and memories that I saw¡ were those not real?? Am I really alive? ''''Hey¡ Don''t worry you''re okay¡'''' Keida hug me. She was trying to make me calm but when I looked at that girl. Her jet-blacked long hair and crimson eyes, I could feel the rage in my body I looked at my right arm and its shaking¡ ''''I''m sorry¡'''' When I heard her, I pushed Keida away from me and I lunged myself towards the girl and punched her in the face with my right hand. She fell on the ground because of my unexpected punch on her face. This feeling¡ ''''Marvis stop!!'''' Keida shouted at me but I didn''t listen to her. I slowly went up on the girl then looked at her face¡ She was shocked and afraid at the same time but that didn''t stop me. I started punching her face from left to right. Every punched that I gave to her the more excitement I got because of this feeling: beating an enemy by yourself. ''''MARVIS!!'''' Keida tried to stop me by pulling me away from her but I kept restraining and still punching that girl face. The old man hand suddenly touched my head. His calming gray eyes looked at me ''Nature''s touch'' he whispered. His hand glowed in green and I can feel a warm and relaxing feeling entering in my head making me calm. I could feel all of my anger starting to disappear and I can think straight. ''''Thank you, Abe. Can you please heal her?'''' Keida said. I looked at the girl her face was swollen and some parts of it were bleeding. Now I felt guilty¡ ''''I-I''m sorry¡'''' I mumbled. I heard keida let out a small sigh. ''''It''s not your fault.'''' She told me. She helped me stand up and I let out a small smile when I looked at keida. I looked at my right leg and shoulder both are perfectly healed but when I touched them, I could still feel the pain. Some parts of my robe are worn out I looked like a beggar when the old man started healing the other girl some part of my mind saying that she didn''t deserve it and the other one was thinking she deserved it because it was my fault. I knew that she almost killed me, but I thought punching her multiple times in the face was not a good thing. A minor headache hit me for thinking too hard, I knew that I was mad and because of that my body moved on its own. I wanted to apologize but was it too ironic when I apologized to a person that I hurt when that person tried to kill me?? Maybe, I could hurt her and heal her at the same time? The more that I thought about it my head hurt even more. When Keida looked at me I calmly smiled I realized that the old man was done healing the other girl. If this guy were a part of the guild, they would already have two healers. I guessed this guy knew some offensive magic because my first impression on him is he looked like a wizard. ''''Are you feeling good?'''' Keida asked the girl. The girl replied but I couldn''t hear it she helped the girl sit down. When the girl''s eyes and mine met I quickly avoided it and pretended that I didn''t care about her situation. Which half true because I still wanted to punch her for mistakenly thinking of me joining Keida''s guild. ''''Abe, you can go home now thank you for helping.'''' Keida said to the old man, his name was ''Abe''. Abe nodded and started walking towards my direction, when our eyes met, he gave me a smile. ''''Do not worry. Your wounds are perfectly healed but you might feel some pain when you touch it.'''' ''''Why?'''' I asked. ''''Because it''s your first time getting stabbed and you will constantly remember the pain when you touch it.'''' He answered. He was expressionless but I could tell that he was worried about my situation. After that he left, and I assumed that he was going back to the Guild house. The moon was bright as I looked at the sky, the stars shone, and it felt like they were looking back at me. I heard that stars were the eyes of gods, they were the watcher of this world. ''''My staff¡'''' I looked around and I saw my broken staff. It was a good and a high-quality staff sadly the sword penetrated it and cut it in half. I also saw the short sword I grabbed and held it and for some reason it felt good. ''''What are you doing?'''' I looked at keida she was supporting the girl to walk. I looked at the sword that I was holding and for some reason, I wanted to throw this to them. I shook my head and threw it to the ground. ''''N-nothing¡'''' I answered. ''''Follow me. Where going to my house'''' she commanded and started walking. It took us a minute and a half before reaching her house. Why did she keep helping this girl? Are they somewhat related? I entered her house and it was dusty and old¡ It felt like this house was abandoned for a long time. She gestured me to sit so I sat on the nearest chair. ''''Marvis, this girl who attacked you is Auryn.'''' She said while she grabbed some chair for Auryn. She created a distance between me and Auryn, cautious that we might attack each other or she was just protecting her since Auryn looked like a person who had been crying and beaten up and couldn''t do anything and now I didn''t regret doing that at all. ''''She is the reason why the guild was having a problem of recruiting new members. She keeps threatening the other people who joined our guild and because of that our guild are now getting disbanded by tomorrow.'''' Keida explained. ''''Threatening?? Guess what? She stabbed instead of threatening me!'''' I yelled. ''''Because you tried to attack me with your staff!'''' Auryn said. ''''I was just trying to say something on you when I paralyzed you!'''' She continued. My eyes were twitching when I heard her answer. She was blaming me wasn''t it? so it was my fault that I get stabbed and almost died! ''arghh¡'' All of sudden I felt dizzy and my vision started to blur. I saw Keida tried to approach me but I gestured her to stop. ''''Are you okay¡?'''' Keida looked worried about me. But the pain still aching in my head and my vision started to look different because when I looked at them a pinkish with a mixture of violet suddenly appear in their bodies. It was like an aura, but I couldn''t tell. ''''Is this the guy Imrael want to recruit?! He''s just an E-rank Healer you have Abe and Imrael!'''' Auryn said. ''''Shut your mouth, Auryn.'''' Keida shouted at her. ''''You''re the reason why Marvis is experiencing this!!'''' she yelled. ''''I never thought that the Blue brigades were desperate enough to recruit an E-rank!'''' Auryn bickered. I don''t know what''s happening, but I suddenly heard a slap then I looked at them. The Aura on their body was overflowing with madness and pained and for some reason I wanted to heal them. I raised my right hand the two of them suddenly looked at me. I would make sure that my healing would remove their pain. ''''Healing wave.'''' I cast, a ray of light blasted through my hand and hit Keida, then bounced to Auryn. ''''ARRGHHH!!!!'''' they both screamed in pain. 6 CHARACTERs PANEL Name: Marvis Furlock (Marvis Asharion) Age: 19 Gender: Male Class: Healer Class rank: E Stats: Agility: 19 Dexterity: 15 Strength: 26 Intelligence: 25 Skills: Healing wave -It can target 3 to 4 people (including the caster) and it heal all the bruises and light wounds.
