《LIFE BEGINS AT 40》


 Chapter 1：CHAPTER 1: ABOUT ME

    ERINE


    Everything in life now was always something new for me. Yeah, I just move in to my mother''s place with my son who is still in high school. We decided to have a fresh new start since my mother was only one living alone in her house.


    My life was not easy being a single mother who raised a son since birth. His father was my first love, first kiss and first in everything. It was not easy at first since we were not teenager at that time when we first met introduced by a common friend.


    I worked as a contract worker in a foreign land when I was in my 20''s. It was my first time away from my country and family. Although, at that time I just wanted to be independent and have confident. It was not easy working alone without your family and friends but it good points you gain new friends. It may not be always true to your face but still you will find some true friends when you went back to your own country.


    Struggles were not that easy adjusting things, people and languages but those years I had to learn to adapt everything. It was lonely at first but later on having friends to encourage you, you will learn to survive your everyday routine until I met him. Yes, when I met the father of my son. It was kind of not totally into him but I think looking back I was just a little na?ve because I wanted to experience having someone or I was just I do not know what I was feeling at that time.


    However, I did love him. If I do not love him, how can I give my V card to that person and have his child? Our relationship was not somewhat deep we had the right love at the wrong time kind of thing. I am thankful that I have a bundle of joy with me, my son.


    It was five years ago that his father stops sending money support and even emotional attachment to our son. I wished I could demand for my son''s financial support but I guess I am just too kind to let it go. I wanted to demand but thinking that I know he is now having his own family.


    I have my own pride not to beg if he is not willing to be a part of my son''s life. If he does, he will find time to reach him however, he did not.  We were lucky enough that my parents were the one supporting some of our needs.


    I know my son has a good heart and knows to understand the situation we had with his father but deep in my heart, I know being his mother I can feel him. I can feel he was hurting but refused to tell me even if I talk to him. He changed quite a little bit after the break up. He changed but I know he should move on.


    I move on after the final separation because in the end we cannot go back to what we used to be. It was not easy for me too but I should face the reality that our relationship was already period. I should put it period not question mark or exclamation point or comma but definitely a period.


    It would not turn back the time but move forward to my future and focus my present. Why? Because it is not just me now there is my son involve who needs love and attention no matter what. He is my love, my life and everything. My son is important to me than anything else.

 Chapter 2：CHAPTER 2: JOB HIRING

    ERINE


    I was in the supermarket when I saw my friend named Destiny. She is definitely hot, sexy, tall, slender and beautiful. We first met outside the supermarket in the parking area. She was a little bit dizzy when she bumped into my shopping cart. I assisted her to her car that was just other side of my car parked. From then on we became friends and still keep in touch even thou she was too younger than I was.


    She was smiling when she saw me as I pushed my cart towards the laundry aisle. "Hey, young one" that is what I called her because of our age gap. She is in her more than 20''s while I am 40. They say I look like I am in my 30''s, I was thinking maybe because I am Asian and the build of my body structure was just average. Well, my height is just 5 feet and 3 inches so I guess or I do not know why they keep telling me that.


    "Hi, sister, I have good news for you." She said as she was in front of me. "I asked my manager in the club if they will hire you part time on the weekends and he said yes. We are lucking of people during the weekends because the club is always doing well." She said happily to me.


    "Des, you know that I am not good in entertaining people and I am a little bit shy talking others you know that." I said shyly to her. Yes, at my age now who would believe that I am still shy talking and talking I preferred working my hands than my mouth. I feel like I do not know what to say next if I use my mouth. I am good in written than verbally. The club she is working is decent I know that. It is one of the best clubs in the town. Destiny knows that I wanted to have a part time job than staying home on the weekends. My working schedules in Diaz Foods were only during weekdays 8 hours a day. Time is gold that is my motto. I am not getting any younger so I need to save and save. I have a lot of things plan in the future that I want to settle.


    "Yeah, I know sis, but you are not going to use your voice all the time. You will be in the kitchen helping like washing dishes or sometimes serving orders that''s it." She assured that to me. "Besides, it is good paying job you know than in any ordinary jobs in the state. There is some tips too so do not worry about it." She added. "Send me your resume email it to me and you will be fine, I promise."


    I heavily sighed then thinking, well, it is a big change and challenge to me. I know that I will be fine since I like working at night than in day. I have lot of energy during the night so why not try this job and it is good for saving more.


    "Okay, I will try this job if I can do it since you are there too why not give it a challenge to myself. Just hoping I will not encounter drunken people that might scare me a lot. Well, to think I am not young anymore and not as hot as you maybe they will just ignore me. " I smiled grinning.


    "Do not worry if that happen the club will protect us in any ways. There are bouncers everywhere so we are safe. Besides, you still have the yummy body in you. I still find you gorgeous."  I laughed at her in disbelieve.


    She read it then sends to someone I think it was her manager.


    "Okay, sis, I contact you when my manager read it. I got to go head back home for some rest." She kissed me on the cheek as a real sister does and waved goodbye.


    I waved back then continue my shopping I smiled thinking if they going to hire someone like me at this age in the club. Well, if I am going to work in the kitchen maybe I am fits there they will not see my age. I laughed in silent as I get some fabric soap.

 Chapter 3：CHAPTER 3: GOT THE JOB

    ERINE


    My out in Diaz is five in the afternoon so I guess I still have three hours allowance to prepare and the time travel from Diaz to my house is 30 minutes then from my house to the club is 20 minutes so I got 2 hours and 10 minutes left during Fridays so not bad.


    I arrived home and I knocked my son''s door Dean before opening. He was there in his room doing his homework. "Hey, buddy." I said as I entered his room then he kissed me. "How''s school?


    "Hello Mom," he replied with a smile. "It was fine mom and got a lot of homework lately and I got everything under control."


    "Well, that''s good to hear and I know you will do it great." I said proudly. I know I am confident with my son''s abilities. I am always thankful to God that he is not a rebel child despite of all the dramas in our lives he is still doing and going to the right path.


    "Baby, I got another job on the weekends and I hope you are okay with it." I said as I sat on his bed looking at him.


    "Really?!" he said. I nodded. "Are you not tired mom working two jobs? You are supposedly resting during your days off." He said worriedly.


    "Well, it is tiring but I still have time to rest. 8 hours of sleep is enough, son, than staying at home without pay is more tiring." I teasingly smiled at him. "Time is gold remember your mommy''s motto."


    "Yeah, right." He shook his head and laughed. "I promise Mom that I will finish my studies so that you will be proud of me even more." He stood up and hugged me.


    "Thank you son that is all I can give you. I will support your needs as long as you will not go in wrong path even I am not looking and not beside you all the time." I reminded him. "Education is the only key you can keep you for life and that they cannot get it away from you wherever you go."


    FRIDAY


    It is my first time in the area and I am not familiar with the club because it was not the same way to the Diaz Foods.  It was in the other side of the road if I came from my house, I just use GPS for my destination. Destiny also told me that some portion of the building is a pub that opens 2pm until midnight and the other portion is caf¨¦ opens 24 hours with the same owner of the club.


    I saw Destiny in the parking lot waiting for me to arrive. I came 15 minutes before the time and I already texted her that I am on my way. I parked my car next to her and I turned off my engine.


    On my first day report to the club, I wore my black skinny jeans and black fitted stretchable shirt.


    I asked Destiny what to wear or there were any specific dress code during works. She said just any all black will do like skirt, short, jeans, dress etc. as long as I am comfortable with it. They will give me nametag so that they will know that I am their employee working in the club.


    We were inside the club and found the manager David. He is in his 30''s and I am still older than most of them. He gave me a smile as soon as he saw us. "Hi, just call me David, the manager of this club you are working. You must be Erine Chu, nice meeting you." He said as he extending his right hand to me.


    I shook his hand then smiled back. "Hi, it is so nice meeting you too."


    "So, Destiny told me that you are not good in talking people so I guess I will be placing you in the kitchen area but you will serve their orders too." He said as he gave me my nametag. "Do not worry other staffs will jot down and you will prepare for them. I will let you familiarize first the facilities and other things so that in due time you will know everything in here."


    I nodded at him and smiled. I was relief that the manager was nice and kind that I do not have to worry about it. Destiny leads me to the kitchen then introduced me to all the staffs inside. They were all very welcoming like a family. Most of them were working there longer since day one.

 Chapter 4：CHAPTER 4: NEWLY HIRED

    BRANDON


    I came from my parent''s hometown for family reunion, two weeks away from my club. David is my trusted person in my club and other businesses if I am not around. He keeps me updated with everything.


    I opened the folder and read some files one by one. Newly hired in my businesses most of them from the pub and caf¨¦. The last resume I have in my hand is in the club. I got curious to read her information because she is not younger of all the newly employees David hired.


    I was right from the look of the picture, she is not young but she is 40 years old, an Asian. She is working in the club as a part time during weekends.


    I wanted to meet her in person there is something in her that intrigues me and I do not know what it is. Maybe her eyes, her looks but she is not even photogenic. With the picture in her resume but why I was eager to meet her.


    I called David to come to my office. A few minutes later a doorbell sound heard from the door, I pushed the button unlocked. David came in.


    "Yes, boss." He said in front of my desk.


    I was still holding her resume. "David, I did not know that you were hiring a part time in the club for the first time." I asked for curiosity because most of the part time where assigned in the pub or caf¨¦.


    "Ah, Erine. Well, Destiny asked me if there is a vacancy for a part time job here in the club during weekends. I asked her why only on weekends if she could work shorter time in the pub or caf¨¦. She said that Erine have a regular job on weekdays and her free time is only during weekends," he told me. "Then I keep on thinking that we need a hand on weekends since it always full pack and the kitchen area needs a hand." he added.


    I nodded as I heard his explanations. "Okay, I get it but before you go I want to meet her in here and tell the chef to cook me some foods and a bottle of wine please. You let her bring it in here." I ordered and David walked out from the office.


    Half an hour later, another doorbell sound from the door. I pushed the button unlocked and I saw Greg helped her holds the door then he closed back. It was automatic lock from the inside.


    She was walking towards me holding a tray both of her hands. She was not looking at me as she was stepping forward. Her face was not bow lower but only her eyes were looking down.


    She was in front of me, "Good evening Boss." she greeted me and she looked at me. When her eyes and mine met, my heart is racing.

 Chapter 5：CHAPTER 5: MEETING THE BIG BOSS

    ERINE


    I was in the kitchen washing dishes when David came in to me. "Erine, our boss wants to meet you in his office but before that you have to bring him his foods and wine. Chef Bob will cook first then you bring it to him." he said. "Hey, you okay?" he asked as he patted my shoulder.


    I was kind of shock when he was talking about me to the boss office. I was somewhat scared¡­ scared? I do not know but I have not seen the big boss. Knowing that he owns this club and other businesses outside it is scary. I imagine his face or outer looks might be in a gang. ''Oh God, what will to do.''


    "Huh, yeah I am okay. Wait, Dave, is our boss kind of scary looks like in a gang that I might afraid to face?" I asked as I was playing with my fingers.


    David laughed at me. Destiny might told him about my personality when it comes to meeting new people. "You will be fine, do not worry." He patted me again and walked out from the kitchen.


    ---


    My hands were sweating from nervousness as I carried the tray with the order of our boss. I put my right thumb to scan to the other door that access to the boss office. No one allowed entering the access door unless it is necessary just like now. You will not know it is a door because it was well hidden not all knew about the existence. Chef Bob gave me a code before I put my thumb to scan.


    Not even Destiny knew or any old staffs except Chef Bob and the two staffs in the kitchen. They not allowed going inside the kitchen area actually. Off limits to go inside, they were only outside the window of the kitchen to give their orders. Well, aside, of course, David, I asked Chef Bob why he told me.


    "Why are you telling me this stuff, Chef Bob? I am just new here." I say while he was preparing the foods in the tray.


    "Well, it is rare that the boss asked you to bring it with you. Therefore, I guess you can be trusted. I know you can be trusted." He smiled at me.


    When reached the upstairs I saw a masculine man standing outside the door so I am guessing that would be the big boss office. The man seems well-trained military with his body structure, of course, with rich owner of many businesses who would like to be your bodyguard in a thin body.


    I laughed silently thinking of my stupid thoughts. I walked closer and I cleared my throat then I saw the man''s face was serious and greeted him. "Hello, am, I was send to bring this to the big boss." I said in polite.


    He pushed the some button then it unlocked. ''Aahh, it was automated lock from the inside.'' That was I talking in my mind. The bodyguard helped me opened the door widely as I let myself in. I was walking towards him with looking his face but I did not bow down my head rather use my eyes to look down as I walked forward. I am scared, you know. I am scared to look if he is like in movies that own a club that might be old and scary one with lots of tattoos in his body.


    I could feel my heartbeat beats so fast. ''What the fudge!''


    I did not expect that the owner of the club was just a little year older than I am. I think he is just in late 40''s have not yet reach 50.


    There was spark when we looked at each other as if the whole moment stops. He has attractive eyes and Asian eyes too like me. However, his feature was mix half-Asian and half-foreign I do not know what country.


    I could not tell if he has a six packs abs but I know he still do some exercises. Unlike me, I do not have time to do such thing now that I am getting older. I am not fat but I gain weight quite a bit but it is not grossly to look my body. I do not have flat stomach or something it can still manage to the level of that I can carry my clothes well.


    ''What am I thinking right now?'' I am not here to find a lover knowing my age. I know I do not have strong sex appeal and I am aware of that. That is why until now I do not have other men with me after my first love.


    I am contented if this is God plan for me to be single forever and I will accept it.

 Chapter 6：CHAPTER 6: TO KNOW MY NEW EMPLOYEE

    BRANDON


    I do not know what is wrong with me when our eyes met. There is something wrong with my heart. This is the first time I felt meeting a woman that my heart is racing. I am not a teenager anymore for Christ''s sake. Why I was having this kind of feelings in front of her? This is crazy.


    I cleared my throat as I still looked at her. Still she is not blinking her eyes staring at me. I think we felt the same as our eyes met.


    "Is that the foods Chef Bob prepared for me?" I asked then glanced at the food she was holding then back at her.


    "Huh! Am, y-yes boss." She was stuttering her words without looking at me. I can see that she is nervous in front of me.


    "Okay, can you put it on that table?" I said as I pointed the center table near the couch. She nodded then slightly bended her body down to put on it. She took it out from the tray then arranged properly. She straightens her body.


    "Boss, your foods are ready." She said. I walked towards the table and sat on the couch. "If there''s nothing else boss I will go down now," she said still in a low voice as if I could not really hear.


    "No, I mean take a sit in front of me." I said to her that her eyes wide open in shocked. I can see that she was uneasy with me. I saw her quickly bite her upper lip while slowly seated the other couch. I still looking at her that make her tenser. "Am I that scary that you are afraid to look at me?" I asked.


    She looked at me in the eyes. "No, boss but¡­ I¡­ I honestly nervous right now and I.. I cannot deny that." She said without blinking.


    I saw her small smiled on her face. "Yeah, I know I am not a teenager but I cannot help it in front of you." She said frankly, as I saw her lips moving like biting inside her teeth.


    "Are you thinking that I might do something bad on you now?" I asked her and she nodded. My instinct was right I know what she was thinking even in her age now. I know she is not some kind of person that always encounters this kind of job.


    Knowing that I am the owner of the club and she is alone with me. Maybe she is thinking that I am a bad person who takes advantage of their employees. The way she walked I knew that she is a decent person I think she do not know how to flirt a man in her whole life. The shyness in her that caught me, it was natural and never pretending.


    I know different kinds of people as I reached this age and I know who were real or not. This woman in front of me is something I like to keep.


    I smiled as I looked at her. "Do not think of anything I will not do something bad I just want to know my new employee that''s all." I said and I saw she her small smiled. "Why don''t you join me I won''t take no for answer." I added as I grabbed the spoon and floor then gave it to her. She accepted my offer and we start eating.

 Chapter 7：CHAPTER 7: PERSONAL TALK

    ERINE


    This is odd. I do not know why I got very nervous when I am in front of a person I am not very like that. I am shy if I am in front of the people talking like giving speech or something. Reaching my age now I should have never be so much tense. Gosh, do not tell me I got a strong attraction to my boss. This is insane for gosh sake.


    We ate while talking he asked me why I was here on part time basis only. My nervousness was gone a little.


    "Why are you not applying full time? I am sure the wages in my club much higher that what you have in your regular job." He asked as we still eating.


    "I know that the salaries I get in your club are truly amazing with some tips included if I serve outside the kitchen but what I have to deal is the time Boss." I said frankly.


    "The Time?" he asked while his face was confused.


    "Yes, boss, time, you know I have a son that I still spend my time with. If I will apply full time here, I do not have time with him. As much as possible I want to have breakfast and dinner with him every day at least five times a week. In addition, see him go to bed at night. He is all I got now that he is teenager. He still needs my guidance." I said, as I looked him in the eyes.


    "Actually, boss, I am still single and never been married. His father and I were off the hook long time ago. I moved on and he moved on too." I just told him I do not usually tell strangers about my past or my personal life then I saw his face seems lighten I guess or I am just imagining that. I do not know why I opened easy to him regarding with my personal relationship. "Yes, I have a son and it was not stated in any of my resume I preferred it that way unless it is necessary and I won''t deny it." I grinned.


    "I once married too, we had two beautiful children and both of them already married and still keep in touch. As of my ex-wife, she married again with one of my close friend way back cheated on me when I was busy taking care with our businesses." He said in a low voice. "But I am happy now with my life being single too. It is easier that way no commitment less complication in life." he added with devilish smiled.


    I smiled back knowing we have the same experience about love. Yes, Dean''s father cheated on me and I was thankful that we did not get married. Since then I focused on Dean all my life and I guess I should stick on that.


    We did not notice we finished the foods I brought and he did open the wine but I refuse to drink. I am not fond of liquors but I do drink it occasionally but as much as possible I do not want to drink it anymore. I already passed that age of having drinking and trying what a teenager''s curiosity sake.


    "No, boss, I do not want to drink and I am still on duty." I refused his offer.


    "Well, I respect you. You take your job seriously and I like it. It is very rare that you manage to control to ignore the offer." He said proudly as he took a sip on his wine.

 Chapter 8：CHAPTER 8: SLIGHTLY STALKING

    BRANDON


    It was been a months since I talked to Erine. I did not disturb her or let her go to my office again to bring me some foods. However, I found myself keeps on waiting for the weekends to come and see her time in, in the club. Sounds weird but it is true, I am always anxious looking outside the parking lot from my office. I know what time she comes in and where her car park.


    Stalker much? No, just slightly one.


    I do not know why I keep thinking about her since then. She is not so beautiful like any other women who I encounter or have sex with before. I have not laid since the last one I had the night after I talked to her. Her face keeps on flashing inside my mind very unusual to me. To tell you the truth, my sex urge quite lie low. It never gets hard on if I am having sex with some sexy woman. ''What is wrong with me lately?'' I asked myself.


    Nevertheless, fate really was something. I do not want a broken family but it happened so I guess I was destined to be single forever that was I intend to.


    Now, it changes me. I found Erine very attractive. She was the first employee that I let her used the hidden door from the kitchen and Chef Bob and my other two trusted kitchen staffs knew that. I never let anyone except them can bring foods in my office.


    Tonight will going to have a Christmas celebration until three in the morning while my employees can extend until four in the morning to enjoy the Christmas Holiday.


    We will be close for a day for my staffs to spend time with their loves on Christmas day. Resume our operation on the 26th.


    I know many people were coming in and have fun tonight. Some will be out of control since it is the best time of the year but I limit people inside my club so safety purposes.


    I have so many bouncers on standby and they were doing their jobs very well when it comes to this occasion. I want to keep my employees to be safe and not only them but to all the people coming to my club.


    I am near my window office of course; people from the outside cannot see me looking because some parts of the office I turned my lights off just to see her.


    A Chevrolet Volt Green Mist Metallic came in the parking lot; I already know who it is. A woman I always am waiting for during weekends to come in. The driver''s door opened, a woman wearing a red skirt, black stockings, black upper blouse and winter coat.


    She walks toward the club I never saw she lose her hair down whenever she comes in the club. Always put her hair with bun hairstyle.

 Chapter 9：CHAPTER 9: MERRY CHRISTMAS TIME

    ERINE


    I wore my red circle skirt, black tights, black round lower neck blouse, ankle black heels boots and winter coat. Tonight will going to celebrate Christmas. This is my first time not having my Christmas Eve with my son. Dean is with my younger brother''s home which a block away from the house. My mother is currently not in the country. She went for a 6 months'' vacation to our origin.


    For months working in the club, I get used to it. I get to serve outside the kitchen and so far, no bad incidents I get encounter. I am confident that they were bouncers looking each one of us if there were customers having more than what they could take with alcohol.


    Tonight, is one of the busiest events of the year so I will assign outside serving their orders. As I arrived inside the club, they were full of line already. Big boss''s club have their limits of customers to let inside the premises. I am glad with that because it is so scary knowing if we were so full inside and what if things were out of control. I cannot imagine myself what will I do then.


    I went straight to my locker and put my winter coat inside. I left my car keys and phone inside my pocket.


    "Hi sister, you look hot." That was Destiny; she just came in inside the locker room. "Wow, I cannot believe that you were here with me for months."


    "You too, look very gorgeously hotter baby." I teased but honestly, she is really beautiful and very wow body figure. If I am a man, I will court her and be my wife. She is kindhearted person I ever met, cute, down to earth and she never picks up random people just for sex, which is shocking to me. Well, in this country and her age, you would not believe she is somewhat like that.


    That kind of body could drool for every man in this planet but she is different that is why I like her. She tells me everything about her past life and I understand her.


    "Thanks Sister, I hope you enjoy this party tonight. Merry Christmas, Sis." She hugged me then kissed my cheek. She is so sweet girl with to the max fighting spirits inside.


    "Sure I will. I am glad I met you and be a part of my life. Merry Christmas, too, young one." I responded as I hugged her too.


    When we go out the party started with younger generations. ''This is going to be one hell of a busy night.'' I said to myself.


    I began to do my rounds to serve their orders as the loud music started to kick in. I can see people started to groove in and swaying their bodies. I smiled as I see myself when I was at their age I could not help it as passed to the dance floor I moved my body.


    Destiny smiled at me as she saw me moving my hips. "Let it go sister, let it go." She said as she handed me a glass of wine. "Drink this to give it some loose." She smiled as I picked it up from her. I told myself I would drink it one glass for tonight since it is Christmas.


    As deeper, the night things were chaos. I was standing in the dance floor when it strikes 12 midnight. Everybody was up beating the moment of Christmas when the Dj hits the combo remix of Christmas songs that everyone were dancing and greeting. It is a Merry Christmas moments.


    I cannot tolerate more than three. Right now, I know I can feel that the alcohol were in my systems were kicking in. I was grinding but not grinding too much then I realized I was working and it is inappropriate so I stopped. However, before I moved a hand wrapped my stomach and I froze. It gives me chill to my whole system.

 Chapter 10：CHAPTER 10: OUR LIPS UNITE AS ONE

    I asked Greg to keep an eye on the staffs especially Erine when the party started. She will be working outside the kitchen most of the time serving some people in the busy night.


    "Greg, keep your eyes open especially Erine. I leave it up to you." I commanded him, I know his face was confused.


    "Boss, you were different now when it comes to her. Do you really like her?" Greg asked me. He knows I am not me lately since the day I saw Erine. He seen me with different women but never did I give him instructions to watch over to a certain woman to be safe.


    I sighed before I give him the answer. "I know what you were thinking Greg but I guess me kind of." I could not continue to say more words to him but I think he feel it what is inside me. Confusing is the main word right now.


    The dance floor is kicking more butts when the best dj''s in town was having the best remix to my club. Each one of them was having a great night. I stepped out of my office standing and watching the dance floor in the second floor.


    I saw Erine passed by the dance floor after serving some customers. Destiny gave her a drink and I saw at first she refuse but then she grabbed it. I allowed them to drink while working tonight as long as they not wasted during their working time.


    I saw her moving her hips a little and I smirked watching her. She still got the groove and I was thinking she did may have her time enjoying when she was younger. I did not go back to my office as I continue watching her in every move.


    She do her job well even her co-workers gave her shots of wine. I think she had three already when the fourth one she refused. I smirked looking at her as she knows how to control her limitations and I like it.


    It is Christmas day, the music change into a remix Christmas songs. I watched her again passed in the dance floor. Her body moves into the perfect rhythm and I slowly went down to go near her. I could not help it but I wanted to feel her.


    She stopped dancing thinking about something then she is about to go when I grabbed her.  My left arm wrapped around her waist to stopped her from going. She froze then she turned her head around to see whom.


    I pulled her closer to me still her eyes were confusing. I put her arms around my neck then my arms landed around her waist. I started moving when the music changed into slow rhythm. We never take our eyes off to each other even when the music changed again into a fast rhythm.


    We did not change what we were started still moving our hips in a slow motion. I looked at her lips as her eyes landed mind too.

    I took a quick shower and changed my clothes before I join her in my bed. She sounds asleep like a very tiring day for her. I slowly grabbed her closer to me as I placed my arm around her waist. She moved her face near my armpit then hugging me too as I watched her smelling it. She was smiling doing that, I found it cute no one doing that to me. I kissed her forehead then I closed my eyes.


    I do not know the time when I woke up with a hard push. I know who that is. We were just staring each other no words came. I wanted to laugh but I control it because she was so cute with her reaction. I know what was in her mind. The look in her eyes saying what is I doing her in your room.


    She never waiting too long she spoke. "What am I doing here?"


    I cleared my throat before I give her my answer. "Chef Bob tried to wake you up when your alarm hit many times but you sleep like a baby." Her eyes widen from what I just said.


    "You stay here and go home later you should rest I know you are tired." I whispered then pulled her back. I do not want her to go I want her to sleep beside me I know she looks very tired and I cannot take the risk if she will go home in that state.


    Besides, I miss her. I missed her smell. She snuggled in my chest as I kissed her temple without even took too long I can feel she fall asleep. I smiled seeing her breathe calm down then I closed my eyes too.

    When I woke up the other side of my bed was empty. I looked around and saw I was alone. I stood up immediately and notice that her shoes were gone. It only means she left without me knowing me. I looked up my wall clock and saw the time.


    I did not know that I slept too much after all the lack of sleep lately with my line of business. I stretched my body then took a shower.


    I smiled knowing that I feel my body with excitement. Another day to look forward it was good thinking that I made some progress last night it is not about sex because we did not have sex last night but I spend some hours with Erine.


    I cannot wait to see her again tonight.

 Chapter 23：CHAPTER 23: BREAKFAST WITH DESTINY

    ERINE


    A text from Destiny that woke me up in my boss'' bed, I looked at the clock on the wall it was 4 0''clock in the morning. I grabbed my phone and read her text.


    Destiny: Sis, where are you?


    Me: I am still in the kitchen. I will be right out in a minute.

    I successfully got out from his room then to his office. Greg was still there outside the office guarding I greeted him with a nod as he does the same. I do not know if he still were resting because I always see him around the clock with our boss.


    I used the hidden door in the kitchen so that other staffs will not aware of it that I slept in our boss'' office.


    Thankfully, no staffs in the kitchen as I open the door I goes directly to the locker. I found Destiny waiting for me. Other staffs were already gone home.


    "Hi, you should not wait for me." I said stroking her hair.


    "Well, I just wanted to have breakfast before going home." She said which we always do ever since I work in the club. We sometimes grab breakfast in our usual spot near the supermarket.


    We walked out from the locker and headed to the main door. I saw Greg sitting in the bar he turned his head when Destiny passed by. There was something in his eyes when he saw her. I do not know if I mistook but I can also sense Destiny, she was blushing.


    I did not say anything I just ask her when we were alone. I know there is something going on with the two. I noticed it few days ago; even we do not go home together. Greg always seated in the bar that he do not use to be waiting there.


    Destiny reached first in our favorite hang out in the morning I parked my car next to her. We both love eating in Burger Patty. Their foods were super yummy and tasty one of my favorite''s burgers in the area.


    We went inside and sat in our favorite seat. Patrice smiled as she saw us.


    "Hello, Pat." I greeted her. She is one of the granddaughters of the late Patty, the one who founded this food chain.


    "Morning ladies, what is your order? Same old, same old¡­" she asked still smiling at us.


    "Yes please, never get over it." I replied. "And one takes out too for my son." I added.


    "Me, too, but no take out." Destiny said which I found it odd. She usually order take out for her boyfriend.


    "Okay, ladies got it. It will be serve five minutes." Then Pat went away.


    I looked at Destiny studied her face. "Tell me, why you are not taking out some breakfast with your boyfriend." I asked.


    She pouted. "We already broke up last week. I caught him cheating in my own bed when I went home after work."


    As I looked into her eyes, I did not saw hatred towards his ex. It seems like it was nothing to her what happened. I know they were together for almost 2 years and they already build some kind of foundation but staring at her, she seems okay.


    "I know I should not ask this to you but I can see that you quickly move on as if he does not exist in your life for 2 years relationship."


    She smiled as if she is in love. "Well, I already can sense that he was cheating on me because I can feel that we do not feel the same as we used to be." She explained. "Sounds weird sis? But it is the fact it has been months we never sex and I did not miss it or ask him."


    "Is this also you are in love with someone else?" I said like teasing. "Like Greg?"


    She blushed. "Whaat? N-no, no¡­"


    "Ha! I got you girl." I laughed.


    "W-why on earth did you say that sister?" she said without looking me in the eye.


    "Well, even I am not that expert with love but I know how Greg looked at you which I do not use to him sitting in the bar during our shift off. In addition, in months working in the club he is not him turning his head just to look at you as you pass." I exclaimed. "So, tell me there is something happened with the two of you when I was not around."


    She sighed heavily then nodded. "I was devastated when I caught my ex. I left the house then went to a park near by my area. I was sitting on the bench facing the lake and there he was jogging around and he saw me crying. I did not know that Greg was living few blocks away from my house."


    "Oh, Destiny." I said in a sadly voice as I held her hands. "I am so sorry I was not there for you if only you told that time I could be there when you needed a friend."


    "So, Greg and you¡­?" I asked. She just smiled and did not answer me but I can sense there is something to it.


    Our foods arrived just in time and I did not say anything else about them unless she will share all the details openly. I still did not tell her about the boss and me.

 Chapter 24：CHAPTER 24: MEETING HER SON DEAN

    BRANDON


    I was in front of Erine''s house. I sort of having second thought coming to her house because I was thinking she was asleep. It was not long ago she walked out from the club. I took a deep breath before I pushed the doorbell. I heard footsteps coming then unlocked the door.


    A young teenager boy opened the main door. He was staring at me through the screen door. "Yes, can I help you sir?" he asked in polite.


    "Hi, I am Brandon Sy, is Erine around?" I asked before he could answer me. I heard her voice coming towards the door.


    "Dean, baby, who was it?" she said and I smirked hearing her voice. As soon as she was in front of me, her eyes widen.


    "Brandon, w-what are you doing here?" she said and unlocking the door and I stepped in. "Dean, this is Brandon, my boss in the club."


    "Hello, I am Dean." He smiled then shook my hand as he was looking at my hand holding bouquet of flowers. "Are you courting my mom?"


    "Dean!" Erine snapped him with surprise.


    "Nice meeting you Dean." I extended my hand to him. "Yes, if it is okay with you." I said as I gave the flowers to Erine. "For you!"


    "As long as you will not hurt my mom I am okay with that, sir." He smiled.


    "Of, course, boy, I will not hurt your mom." I told him with assurance.


    "And we''re good. Anyway, I will leave two alone because I have something else to do." He said then faces his mother. "Mom, I am going now I will see you tonight. I will be back before you go to work. Love you." He said kissing her mother''s cheek. "Bye, sir."


    "Just call me Uncle Brandon." I smiled as I told him and he nodded as he waved to us farewell.


    A devilish smiles that shown in my face. "I miss you. You left in my bed without saying a word."


    "W-what! Come on, you are kidding me, right?"


    "I am not and you know you can feel it. Besides, I want to meet your son so that I will come here anytime I want to see you." I said as I placed my hands to her waist.


    "Oh, my gosh, you are crazy." She said shaking her head.


    I put my both hands cupping her face. "Yes, I am crazy for you and you have to endure it." I stated as I kissed her lips.

 Chapter 25：CHAPTER 25: FATHER FIGURE

    Just like that, he kissed me surprisingly that I got use to his kisses. Every night while I am alone in my bed, his face and kisses that always, linger in my mind.


    I wanted to think I was just lack of intimacy with men but I denied it because I am aware that I can live without men in my life but somehow Brandon was different.     I finished cooking our dinner just in time. I went to the living room and they were now sitting on the floor talking about games.

    "We got hungry from the smell of your foods, always delicious as ever." Brandon added.


    He was sitting beside me while Dean was in front of me. They started dig in the foods I smirked as I watch them eating. I love watching them.


    Brandon put some foods in my plate. "Stop staring at us, you stated you were hungry but then you just watch us only." He shook his head.


    "I love watching you two eating it make my stomach full already." I grinned.


    I nodded as I dig in too. I saw my son Dean smiling widely looking at us.

 Chapter 26：CHAPTER 26: SOMEONE IS EAGER

    BRANDON


    Dean was already taking a leave to his room. Erine and I were still in the kitchen cleaning up after our fabulous dinner.


    It was Thursday night and it is her day off the next day, we sat down in the living and planning to watch movies. I gave Erine day job in the caf¨¦ and she resigned her job in Diaz Foods. At first, she was having a doubtful with my suggestions but later I gave her the best offer that she will never refuse. She is still working at my club during weekends too same as before.

    Morning came; I woke up hugging Erine''s behind whose still sleeping. I smiled knowing that when the time will come I will wake up every day with her I cannot wait for that. I tilted my head to her wall clock and it was 8 o''clock in the morning.


    I can feel that Erine was moving that she slowly awake. She turned her head to her right shoulder and giving me a small smile. "Good morning!"


    I embraced her tightly, "Good morning Hon." I replied as I give her a kiss she moved her body facing me. I licked my lips as I see her nakedness. My length was making it hard on.

    "Well, I finished my work early and I saw Dean then we went to the supermarket."


    "So, what should we have for dinner? I will be the one will cook our foods." I volunteered.


    "No, I will be the one or me and Dean will cook it for you. Just stay out of the kitchen and watch something else." Brandon said as he led me to the living room then left me.


    I raised my brows and pouted my lips. ''What are they planning to?''


    Brandon came and brought me something light to eat. "Here, baby, some fruits and slice of cake for you because I know you are hungry with our fighting." He said and handed me a plate. "In bed" he whispered with a tease.


    I rolled my eyes with his naughtiness and shook my head. He left and I turned on to watch Netflix and choose my favorite movie Just like Heaven.


    I have many favorites'' movies that I keep on watching time to time if I have time. Now that the two men were in-charge in the kitchen, I treat myself a relaxing mode on.


    I do not know what they were cooking but I am confident that it will be delicious so I focused on my movie time while waiting for our dinnertime.

    After breakfast, I got a message from David that everything settled, Erine is with me in my car going to work.

    We reached my establishments. I dropped Erine to the coffee shop and I went straight to the club parking lot.


    I was nervous as I enter inside the club. David met me as I walked in. "Boss, everything is ready and all you have to do is text.


    I nodded and patted his shoulder. I took out my phone; send a text then a reply okay as I read it. I smiled and I positioned myself to be ready.


    Five minutes later, the door opens, I see her but she cannot see me. "Hello." She said until the one light on focus on me in the dance floor then she walked towards me when the music plays "Love of a Lifetime" by Firehouse. I grabbed her hands and we danced. We were silence looking at each other''s eyes then her head leaned closer to my chest feeling the song.

    ERINE


    I received a text from Brandon to tell me that he needs to talk to me in his office. When I went to the club, it was totally blackout as in no lights at all. I froze when the door closed from behind me. I cannot see anything at all.


    "Hello." That is what I said because I do not know why there is no single lights turned on. I cannot proceed to his office. Then, there was a light suddenly turn on, on the dance floor. I saw Brandon standing there and there goes some music plays. I walked towards him nervously until he grabbed my hands and put it on his neck while his on my waist.


    I was leaning to his chest feeling the song and the lyrics. I forgot everything as I close my eyes thinking about me, about him and about us.


    The song is also one of my favorite songs when you really found someone you want to spend the rest of your life. Today, with him in this dance floor I was contented with what I have.


    I can feel his heart beat so fast, as we keep on dancing slowly we both feel it special until he gently push me away from him that I got wonder.


    He lowers down his knees then said something that I thought I could not even hear his words until he took out the ring.


    ''Oh my gosh! What''s happening?''


    My eyes were teary as I heard him say, "Will you marry me, Erine Chu?"


    I thought I misheard but in front of me was real. He is real and everything is real. I nodded many times like a stupid idiots before I found my voice saying to him, yes.


    I hugged him tight while crying nonstop. He chuckled stroking my hair then he slowly wipes my tears. Claps of hands I heard as I turned my head around. I saw Destiny smiling at me she was beside Greg and my son Dean¡­ my Dean¡­?


    He walked towards us and the smile on his face was genuine. "What are you doing here? I thought you were somewhere doing projects with your friends." I said, as he was closer to us.


    "I know Mom but I cannot miss this event in your life and I want to witness it with my two eyes." He was hugging me tight. "I love you mom and I am happy for you, both of you."


    Brandon hugged me too and my eyes still teary with joy.


    "Sis, Boss, Congratulations." Then she hugged me and whispered. "Really, with boss."


    I smiled at her.

 Chapter 32：CHAPTER 32: EPILOGUE

    ERINE


    After three months since we got engage and today is the big day of my life. Our wedding day, it was simple, as I always want it to be with our families and close friends. Brandon wanted to make it big but I said no because I want it to be solemn and special. We cannot entertain all of the guests if we invite more than we could imagine.


    There is no need to waste so much money just for our wedding. If we want it to spend on our wedding maybe on our honeymoon trips, I want to travel the world with him than giving so many expenses to our wedding. Well, I know wedding is wedding you only married once but simplicity is enough to share with our love ones.


    I want to make our lives memorable by spending each other moments I know our wedding is one of them but travelling some parts of the world with your husband, why not.


    After the ceremony and the reception, we were ready to take off for our honeymoon in Paris, one of my bucket lists. It exhausted for me since planning our wedding then the wedding day. Brandon got us first class as we were inside the plane.


    He leaned on me. "Baby, are you okay?" he asked stroking my cheek. "You looked very tired."


    "Hmm, yeah I know. I feel sleepy and drained maybe because I was been focus with the preparation but I will just take some rest for a while before we land off our plane to Paris." I said but I feel my stomach is growling.


    Brandon heard it and he asked the flight attendant to serve our foods. As the flight attendant came with the foods in her hand. She put it on my table when she took off the cover my stomach flipped. I vomit then I cover my mouth and my nose. I do not like the smell of the food she gave me.


    The flight attendant shocking face but smiled seen in a seconds, Brandon quickly got panic about me. "Sir, I will be right back. I think I will call our doctor." she said and quickly left.


    Just a few minutes, she went back with the doctor. She checked my pulse and told me to stand up. Brandon remained to his seat; I followed her as we stopped in the lavatory then gave me two boxes of pregnancy test.


    "Okay, I want you to do this test to make sure my suspicious is correct." The doctor said as I saw her smiled at me. I may confuse but I think I know why now, without a single word I nodded then went inside. I did the instructions with the two tests for sure then waited for minutes as instructed in the box.


    I went out when I saw the results and gave it to the doctor in-charge. She smiled at me and we went back to my seat. Brandon got up from his seat with worried face. He quickly assists me to my seat.


    "Doc is my wife alright?" he asked.


    "No need to worry about her, it is part of her journey." She said that made Brandon more confuse.


    "Part of what?" he asked then looking at me holding my hands but I smiled at him.


    "Of being a mother, congratulations you are going to be a father." She said and left us alone.


    "I¡­ I do not know what to say." He said as he squeezed my hands. "I cannot believe this. We are having a baby, our baby." He added then hugged and kissed me. "I love you baby. This is the best wedding gift you gave me. I love you so much Erine."


    I cried as I hugged him tight. I did not imagine I still get pregnant at my age 40. I may look like my baby''s grandma but still happy knowing that we were having our own.


    "I love you too Brandon."
