    The sun was being devoured by the horizon ahead, while darkness slowly covering the old and moldy structure''s that the past human civilization have build.


    Building covered by vegetation. Trees can seen in every direction, while deafening sound of silence covers the whole uneven and barely visible cement road, where two shadow can be seen, as they slowly make there way to an abandoned building, that was almost crumbled and destroyed by the passing of time.


    A 18 years old teen has, his leg shaking from unexplained hunger. Breathing heavily, he felt that his foot is being constricted by chains that were attached to a heavy metal ball.


    The teen is named Neo Jones, a boy that is neither too handsome nor too ugly, he had a jet black hair, white colored T-shirt and jeans stained by dirt and dust, to cover his skinny body. As he strolled the road with his badly battered black shoes and big travel bag.


    There are times that he wished that all the pain and suffering, he was feeling right now would just go away, but he knew too well that the only way that could do that. Is just by ending his own life.


    "Big bro...are you alright?" amidst of he''s deep thoughts, a sweet cheerfully voice of his six years old sister, suddenly echoed to his ear, revitalizing his soul that almost lost its will to fight.


    The little girl had a long black hair covered by dirt and dust, her body was as slim as a stick, while trace of malnutrition is visible in her small childish face. She''s wearing an oversized fur coat ,and a pair of little blue boots.


    The young man had manage to squeeze a little smile in his haggard looking face, as he pats, the long unkempt hair of his little sister, that is currently holding his left arm.


    "Don''t worry, Everything is...alright" it''s an answer to not only comfort his little sister, but also to make himself believe, that there is still hope for the both of them.


    "Are you hungry Alice?" Neo gently asked his sister, who is also visibly weaken by half day of walking, he opened his bag and pulled dry meat. And pushed it towards the young girl.


    "Didn''t we just ate ummm.... 4 ahh...m.5 hours ago?" the girl said, seemly surprise of her brother unusual behavior, they usually eat one meal per one day to conserve there food supply. So its highly unlikely for her brother to give her food right now.


    "Really..it just been 5 hours?...my bad" wearing a weak smile, Neo kept the dry meat back to his bag.


    "Hahaha, your being silly big brother"Alice laughs cheerfully, often times, Neo thought of how can his sister laughs in this such difficult times.


    and even in matters, which isn''t funny at all. 12 hours without eating is not a joking thing, but now, eating at least one times a day, is as normal as breathing for her.


    3 day ago, Neo was suddenly awakened by an unusual kind of hunger, it was an unbearable. He felt that he could eat a whole roasted cow, if it was presented in front of him.


    He tried eating a larger amount of rations, but his stomach feels like a bottomless pit, he wanted to eat more, but if he did so, his sister will probably starve to death, before the two of them reach their destination.


    Because of this sudden strange *illness* that he unknowingly developed, he felt scared, but not because of dying, but for the future of his little sister will have after he died.


    For three days he kept this fact for himself, so that his sister will not worry, strange unexplained things like this, has been happening around the world for more than 4 years now.


    And the strangething which is happening to him right now might be one of it. He knew that if this strange condition is not *cured*. He will likely die, so before that happens, he just wanted to make his sister a little happier and taking her to the nearest human made fortress as soon as possible.


    *khreeeeerrrgggg*


    As the siblings continued moving forward, a snarl that sounds like the call of death itself, suddenly jolted Neo and Alice. Stopping both of there steps in place.


    "Bro-brother....wha-what was tha-"Alice said in a terrified voice. While holding his brothers arms even tighter. while her was face slowly turning pale from fright.


    "Shhhhhhh..." Neo muttered cutting her sister words, to make her quiet. Turning his head around slowly, towards the direction of the sound.


    He saw a menacing beast staring at them from a distances, with its glowing red eyes, while looking at them, like a predator eyeing its prey, ready to attack at any given moment.


    The 15 feet (4.57 m) tall monster is walking with its four limbs. and It was covered in black shade of fur.


    It looks just like a Panther, but with a pair of razor sharp, crescent bone blade attached to both of its muscular front paws.


    "sh*t, it saw us!" Neo muttered angrily, he slowly wrapped his hand around his sisters small body to hold her in a princess carry. Before summoning every last drop of strength, that was still left in his exhausted body, before suddenly burst out running towards the nearby ruins.


    *Roaaaaaaaaaar*


    Seeing its dinner is trying to escape, the huge panther like beast gave loud roar, before hurriedly giving a chase to the two weak human, with its more superior speed.


    4 year ago/ year 2016


    Earth was populated by billion''s of Humans, as modern machines made life easier and comfortable.


    People only needed education to get a good job and live a good life, while some could even just sit on their chair all day, and earn a living.


    But then, everything changed, strange phenomenon suddenly started happening, like an electrical storm, toxic rain, earth quake, subzero degree winter, etc.


    With that alone, almost 65% of the 7.8 billion humans, had died from the harsh and unpredictable *weathers*. Forcing the surviving human to live in the nearby bunkers, which are was built by there government, to avoid being killed by strange natural elements.


    After that, the life on earth wasn''t like it used to be, every time there''s are a weather disturbance, human that were working outside like farmers will hurriedly hide in these bunkers, to wait for these disasters to pass.


    The buildings are being abandoned, while nature is slowly retaking its rightful place. Cities are slowly turning into jungle, while vegetation growing thicker and thicker as time goes by.


    1 year later after that, human has slowly adjust on living in those harsh conditions. Human thought there will be nothing (worser) than they''re currently situation. But they are terribly wrong.


    Mystical creatures suddenly appeared, as well as colossal monsters, some of the people said they came from the deeps of underworld, while some said, they are here to cleanse the world from the poison known as humans.


    these creatures vary in all shape and sizes, some beasts are harmless, but mostly are hostile.


    And when those beasts found there way to a human compounds, bloodshed is inevitable.


    Modern weapon like guns, rockets, missile could somehow destroy some weaker monsters. But when bigger and stronger one''s came up, this weapons are like toys for them, leaving human no choice but to run as fast as you can to survive.


    2 years later,


    Only 0.001% of the total population in earth was left. Bunkers are being destroyed by this monsters one by one, while people living in those bunkers, turned into monsters snack.


    While for other humans that manage to escape there fate. they could only hope to reach other bunkers before the monsters could.


    These creatures or monsters had almost exterminated all the animals, that were living on earth, and replaced there place in the new ecosystem.


    Because of that, the ecosystem has been changed to a more treacherous and unforgiving one.


    Trees grew much larger, strange plants started appearing, new kinds of minerals started to take form, and the overall law of the world has changed.


    But when humanity thought that all hope is gone. Few human started to evolved, materializing supernatural abilities, that no human are capable of before.


    with there new-found strength humanity has finally found a way to fight, for there right to live in the new world.


    1 year later, only 0.00002% or 150,000 plus humans, are what''s left in the humanity population throughout the world.


    The bunkers that survived until now, thanks to combine efforts of the evolved human and its inhabitants. where now called Last Hope Fortress or LHF.


    While the evolved human that protects the fortresses are called evolutionary''s

    the huge panther like creature was so quick and agile that it quickly shorten the distance between it and its prey, stretching its black vertical crescent bone blade. it directed its attack towards, Neo who is about to escape inside a huge old building.


    Neo has survived for 4 years ,while taking care of his sister, he had so many encounters with this monsters that he almost lost count, and every time that a huge monster spot him , there is only one solution in his mind,


    run as fast as you can and hide as soon as possible, thats why he felt safer traveling in around old city ruins where many building could be potential hiding spots.


    some of this monsters, had high sense of smell so walking sneakily as possible, will only slow there traveling speed, leading to food shortage. so instead of walking sneakily, he decided to remember every small hiding spot he saw on the road.


    so after he saw the monster, he already knew where direction to run. normally this strategy will work, but because of his weakened body. his running speed is extremely reduced, and it caused a terrible thing to happen.


    *slaaaash*


    blood splattered on the wall of the first floor of the 10 storey building, the panther monster crescent blade has managed to reach Neo''s back creating long parallel cut , that spans from his shoulders to his waist.


    but luckily the huge bag on Neo''s was wearing managed to absorb most of the damage, as Neo''s supplies flew out of the broken bag, but thanks to that only the tip of the blade has manage to hit Neo''s flesh.


    if someone would inspect the wound ,he can see that there are no bone broken, but because the wound is long and an inch deep, dying from loss of blood will be a possibility


    "khaa''"a muffled grunt escaped Neo''s mouth, but instead of stopping, he endured the burning pain in his back, as he continues to walk deeper inside the old building. while holding his sister, that is shaking from fear in his embrace,


    *bang* *scraaaaach* *bang* *scraaaach*


    the huge panther started to destroy the walls of the building, while forcefully squeezing its body inside the narrow hole where it prey just escaped.


    it must be so desperate for food that, its willing to make such huge effort just catch two small humans.


    *bang* *scratch* *Roaaaar* *scratch*


    ignoring the monster rampaging in his back, Neo slowly walk towards the corner of the building, with his shaking legs he tried sitting in the dusty floor of the old building, but because of too much pain, fatigue and hunger, he only managed to kneel.


    "Alice...its alrigth now" Neo said gently with his weakening voice. Alice who is shaking from to much fright a moment ago, slowly opened her eyes, only to see that his brother is bathing on his own blood.


    "brother!" Alice yelp in shock. as feeling of helplessness invaded her mind,


    she can see her brother slowly losing his life. so without wasting more time she jump away from her brother embrace, before hurriedly trying to stop the bleeding in her brother''s wounds with her tiny hands.


    "brother! hang on.....don''t close your eyes!" Alice, wailed in sorrow and powerlessness, while a sense of terror could be seen in her eyes.


    *crack* *crack*


    the 10 storey building suddenly cracked because of the monster that was trying to squeeze its head inside it, then a few second later, the upper part of building finally collapsed.


    *bang* *crash*


    the panther that still got its head stuck inside the first floor didn''t had enough time to escape, as falling debris hit its body hard while being buried alive by it at the same time. but thanks to that, it sealed the opening of the building where the sibling went.


    *Roaaaar*


    but after a brief moment, the beast that is one''s covered by debris started to move, shaking the off the cement blocks in its body, the monster only managed to take one step forward, before finally succumbing to its injury, and falling to the ground with a *tud*


    on the building Alice could not careless about whats happening outside, she opened her little bag and took a metal case that contains her first aid kit. "brother...i will hate you, for life if you close your eyes!" Alice yelled, as she open her metal case with her shaking hands.


    "do-nt...wo..rry, your.. brother ... will... just.. sleep... here.. for a.. little... whi-"Neo didn''t finish his word before he suddenly collapsing on the ground motionless.


    "bro-ther.. open your eyes! "Alice tried shaking her brother with her tiny hands, but Neo didn''t respond.


    "brother Neo?"having no response, from her brother, Alice''s mind became momentarily became blank.

    a sweet smell of meat assulted Neo''s nose who is currently half awake, smelling the aroma of an appetizing food Neo''s first response is opening his hazy eyes.


    even thought Neo felt like the world is spinning and his body is heavy to move, the unbearable hunger pushed him to search for the food that has been releasing the inviting smell.


    he crawled awkwardly, while letting his nose guide him to the foods direction. he crawled to the floor then to a gap in the rubbles.


    letting his primal instincts take over his mind, the only thing that Neo wanted rigth now it to find and eat what ever kind of food it was.


    he could smell that its very near him, trying to focus his hasty eyes ,he saw the corpse of the monster that attacked him and his sister just a while ago, thanks to the moonlight.


    he was so shock ,because the smell coming from the corpse was stimulate his urge to bite and eat it.


    he resisted the urge to take a bite from that the piece of meat being displayed to him, but the shearing hunger over throwned his will to resist.


    ignoring his sanity, he took a huge bite from the carcass, Neo felt that he needs more...much, much, much more. so without stopping he started ripping the flesh of the carcass with his teeth, then swallowed it without even chewing.


    how can a weakened man tear thru tough monster meat with its bare teeth. that thought only crossed Neo''s mind for only few a second, before setting it aside, and resumed devouring the carcass one bite at a time.


    *craaaaanch*


    the panther bones felt so brittle to bite, but the taste of it is unexplainably good, and it taste much better the Panthers meat. he also grabbed the claws of the beast and started eating it like popcorns,


    after few hours of eating non stop the only thing that was left in the Panthers body was its its pair of crescent bone blade.


    but Neo could not care less he grabbed one of those blade and started munching it. only after that Neo got very tired and soon pass out the second time.


    after that a row of notification has materialized in his mind.

    Lying on the blood covered rubble''s Neo slowly opened his eyes, unlike his previous condition before, his body was now feeling a lot more refreshed, and a tiny bit ligther than before. even though the pain in his back still stings every time he move, it didn''t really constrict him too much.


    after standing up then Neo realized that he wasn''t hungry anymore, looking down on the ground, he saw dried blood covering the ruins rubble''s underneath him. plus his body was also covered by so much dried blood.


    "that means everything that happened that nigth wasn''t a dream!" a pure shock and horror appeared Neo''s face,


    many questions suddenly drown his mind with thought like, how can a huge monster, fit in his stomach, or how did he even ate that whole monster.


    but before, he can got lost in his sea of thought, a familiar sound rings in his mind while blue colored words slowly materialized in the middle of his eyes.

    Neo is trying so hard to calm his heretic state of mind, because, from all the strange things happening in earth, this thing rigth now was the weirdest.


    moving his hands to the floating words that is follow his eyes, he wasn''t so surprised that he could not touch it. and his hand only pass thru the letters.


    inspecting the strange phenomenon, Neo''s curiosity suddenly brougth him in trying, to move his fingers to the, red YES words that was floating in the air.

    a suddenly flow of informations started barged in Neo''s mind, it wasn''t to painful, but only a little uncomfortable, it only lasted for 1 or 2 seconds before the a notification rings ring one''s again

    Neo was amazed at first, but after seeing that a goddess want him to save humanity, he could not help but to scratch his head, how can he save humanity if he can''t even save himself.

    suddenly a dark cloud suddenly started to form above Neo head. seeing this Neo''s face became a little cold.

    ignoring the System for now, Neo hurriedly tried to seek his sister.


    "brother...Neo?" but before he could even take a single step, a voice his young sister, rings from the building.


    after hearing his young sister, Neo turned his head toward the building and answered "im here!"

    "Alice, i''m outside the building" Neo answed, while trying to clean the dried blood in his face. Neo also felt that his wound was somehow stitched to stop it from bleeding, so he guessed that her sister must have did it.


    the sun can finally be seen from the horizon, when Alice crawled from the gap of the collapsed ruins


    and as soon as she saw her brother on the top of the rubbles, staring warmly at her. Alice could not hold her tears any longer, as she rushed forward to where Neo is sitting.


    "brother" Alice hugged his brother. "i thought..sniff... you will ..sniff..be gone ...sniff..forever!"Alice said with shaking voice, while crying from joy.


    Neo smiled, as she patted his sister''s head gently to comfort her, "little Alice, im glad you feel that way but..please... my back wasn''t healed yet."Neo said . because his sister his hugging his waist tightly making his wound sting a little.


    "i don''t care!, you deserved it for making me worry!" Alice said as she puffing her cheeks, while she continued hugging her brother.


    ignoring the little discomfort from his wound, Neo asked gently "when did you learn to stitch wounds?"


    " few months ago, learned from watching, Miss Jessica when she was healing wounded people" Alice answered chearfully, but then a trace of sadness suddenly paints her face. "i wonder if, she survived" she,murmured.


    Jessica was one of the nurse, in Final Hope Fortress A3 which only have 3,450 survivors. she''s was a young woman the same age as Neo, she got long blond hair, petite body, and pretty face"


    its been 1 year ago, since Neo and Alice first arrived in LHF-A3, in the lublub valley, one of the last 3 surviving Fortresses in the Visayas island in the Philippines, when there previous home LHF-A5 in Tambobo, was destroyed by hords of monster,


    when Neo and Alice first arrived in LHF-A3 . After traveling with a truck with the other few survivors of LHF-A5, they are greeted by the doctors and nurses of the LHF-A3 in the Lublub Valley, one of the nurses that took care of them is Jessica.


    Alice and Jessica became close friends, after only such a short time of knowing each other, Neo also thinks Jessica was a good natured and friendly girl, so he didn''t object having her as a friend in the fortress.


    Neo''s love for technology, has led him to learn few thing about computers, from the computer engineers that was maintaining the fortress''s computer system. until such time that he could even help in maintaining it.


    while on the other hand, Alice often followed Jessica like a tail, and when she''s working, Alice will keep quiet and watch Jessica work diligently.


    after 1 year, they have been separated when a disaster happened, the LHF-A3 was overrun by monster, few weeks ago,


    because of that Neo prioritized saving his sister and packing some supplies before escaping, he didn''t had time to check at Jessica because the monster had already occupied 3/4 fortress. when he arrived home at the nigth.


    due to being in the far side from the gates of the fortress, Neo and his sister followed the last group of people to escape, and because all the vehicle''s has been taken, they are forced to travel by foot.


    but when a monster attacked there convoy and killing the only evolved human that was leading the group, the people panicked and started to escape fanatically that resulted to separation of there group member, that was the reason why Neo and Alice are by themselves rigth now.


    "im sure she escaped, she''s a smart woman after all "Neo comforted Alice. he thinks that jessica must be in the other group that took a truck, if she manage to flee in time,


    "i hope so."Alice answered in a weak voice.


    "don''t worry maybe she is waiting for you in the other fortress, we don''t want her to wait too long rigth, so , we must get moving" Neo said towads Alice, who is currently hugging him,


    understanding what her brother meant, Alice let go of her brother. only to see that her brother is currently soiled with so much dry blood covering his body.


    "wha-what happened to you!" that is the only words that left Alice mouth, after she realized how unclean her brother looks

    after explaining everything except for the System, to his shocked sister, Alice was amazed that his brother has become an evolve human,


    as for Neo, he was a little worried, that he migth really need to hunt a monster soon, if his hunger strikes again,


    he was also curious, why there''s no monster that manage find him with all the blood in the ground. so Neo thinks he better get away from this place as soon as possible. before a stronger one shows up.


    fixing his broken bag with some duck tape and wire, Neo retrieved all the things that he could find on the rubbles.


    after few minutes of searching he only manage to find 2 day worth of food ration, and his broken water container which didn''t have any water left. that means they just loss there water supply. *great*


    Neo decided to continue there journey, but before that he cleaned himself with rag that he found in the of the ruines, while changing his blooded white clothes ,with a dusty hooded jacket, and his jeans with an oversize pants.


    Neo tried to solve there water problem, after he found some suitable water containers from the ruins, he open his map and use his compass to check the nearest river on his way to Fortress N1,


    .Neo and Alice travel is like a gamble, because if the fortress N1 was also destroyed there travel will be all, for nothing and there chances of survival will be severely lowered

    rivers are hotspot for the monsters, they are often go to the river bank to drink, and even thought Neo didn''t want to go there, he need to take a risk to get some water for there long travel.


    while walking in the jungle, Alice saw a round white ball of fur, nibbling a piece of leaf, in the ground beside her,

    "strange" Alex thougth, he often saw his sister playing with some small pet animal in the fortress, and what strange is that animal tend to be very obedient when she''s around.


    furats are new kind of animal that suddenly emerged from the surface of the world, because of the change in the ecosystem of earth,


    they look like a mini hamster with overgrown fur. they are pretty harmless and often can be seen in places where water is present.


    this tiny palm size creatures are very docile animal with zero attack power, but they are gifted with speed to avoid predators that are planning to harm or eat them.


    Neo thought the reason why it didn''t run away after being touched by Alice, must be because the furat didn''t consider Human as a threat


    the evolutionary often catch them as pet, because of how cute they looks and how easy to take care of one.


    and seeing how excited his sister was feeling after seeing the furat, there''s no doubt that Alice was smitten by the cuteness of the funny looking creature,


    Alice pet the small furball with sparkling eyes "its to cute and obedient.... brother can i keep him?" she asked with pleading look, towards Neo.


    "i dont know...but i think its not the rigth time for taking care of pets Alice, lets leave that furat for now, i''ll will try to get you one when we manage to arrived in the Fortress. i promise " Neo said to comforting his sister.


    "No!, i dont what to leave fluffy here" Alice said with determined gaze.


    smilling bitterly, Neo didn''t know if to laugh or cry, because his Sister even named the furat already, scraching his head, he decided to let her , keep the furat.


    "fine you can keep it..but make sure you dont get distracted with playing with it." Neo warned.


    "yey!".Alice yelp in joy, before grabbed the furball and started petting it more, as the furat continued on nibbling its piece of leaf.


    seeing this Neo felt curious, why a wild furat was so docile, so he tried touching it for once''s


    but when his hand was about to touch the creature, it suddenly speed away from Alice hand and climb on top of Alice head.


    "don''t startle fluffy" Alice said angrily, before grabbing the furat in her head, to pet it back in her arms.


    Neo retracted his hand while smiling bitterly, after ignoring the furat strange behavior, Neo proceeds on there way to the river,


    the water in the river is crystal clear, maybe because the factories and its chemical waste that causes pollutions was almost gone. and after years of being filtered clean by nature.


    but either way Neo filled all there water bottles with clean water, before standing up and walking away from the river bank, as soon as possible.


    but when Neo and Alice was about to leave, the worst possible thing happened, and they encountered a group of monsters that migth be planning to have a drink in the river,


    its a group of 3 saber tooth Hounds,bthat came from the other side of the forest, they slowly approached the River, and started drinking in the river bank.


    saber tooth hounds are monster, that looks and as big as wild dogs, they have huge pair of fangs. and moves in an agile manner, this Monsters have a keen sense of smell.


    seeing this Neo signaled her sister to be keep quiet, as they started to back away to avoid being spotted by the hounds.


    while Neo and Alice are backing away, a hound suddenly pick up a smell and started sniffing the air, with a growl the other two hound also started sniffing the air.


    "sh*t...they know we are here!"Neo mumured, he grabbed her sisters arm tightly as they proceed walking away. but then Alice accidentally stepped of a piece of stick.

    the breaking sound of the stick, made the ears of the hound to twitch,before starting to look at the direction where the sound was heared, only to see Neo and Alice running away.

    with a roar the hounds started sprinting towards Neo and Alice, seeing that they are spotted, Neo didn''t waste more time, as he grabbed his sister and tried to escape.


    "brother...im sorry !" Alice said, with teary eyes, she knew very well that her brother is having a hard time, because of her,


    "its not your fault Alice. im the one to be blamed, because im not strong enough ... but... that will change.. rigth now.. i promise you that!" Neo said with voice full of determination,


    "wha-what do you mean?"Alice asked in confusion, but Neo egnored his sister


    he suddenly stops running, before putting Alice and his bag down on the ground, ad soon as he did so, he turned around and rushed towards the in coming hounds.


    "brother noo!!!" Alice yelled in horror. when she realized that his brother decided to attack the monsters instead.


    "haaaaaaaaa!!!" with a yelll, Neo raised his rigth hand to greet the first hound that is coming to his way, with adrenalin pumping to every parts of his body, he unleashed a punch directed to the hounds head,

    but instead of fist hitting the hounds skull, a black bone blade sprang out the Neo''s rigth arm, it suddenly appeared and penetrated the monster head, to killing it instantly.

    having no time to be in daze, Neo pulled the blade rigth away from the hounds skull, before branshing it, to the other two hound that is about to jump to him, with a panicked horizontal slash.

    with one lucky swing Neo manage to cut two monsters like butter with the help of the razor sharp bone blade

    *chaaack* the bone blade retracts back to his forarms .after that a wound was left in Neo''s rigth forarm which is about 5 cm long.


    "haa, huu, haaa ,huuu..."enduring the new wound in his rigth forearm, while breathing heavily, Neo tried to calm his fanatically beating heart.


    seeing the he somehow manage to eliminate all the threat, Neo checked his sister condition in the back. only to see that, his sister is just staring at him.

    after the figth, a notification from the system materialized in Neo''s eyes.

    "trust me and ,just stay there, and play with Fluffy(Furat)" Neo said, he didn''t want to let her sister to see , something so *revolting*.

    "wake up fluffy, let play"Alice tugged the animal, suddenly the furball awakened and started to crawl in her hand lazily.


    after seeing that his little sister is now playing her pet, Neo pulled a folding dagger from his pocket and cut a small piece of meat from the defeated monster.


    holding the small chunk of meat Neo slowly put it in his mouth and chew. and as he expected the raw meat taste good for him.


    he was far from hungry, but Neo knew this the fastest way for him to become strong enough, to assure the safety of his sister.


    grabbing one of the hounds carcass, he started to devour it, as fast as he could.even though he felt like vomiting, after seeing the bloody body he was putting in his mouth, Neo steeled himself.

    Neo and Alice followed the broken road toward Leon city, where one of the last two Last Hope Fortresses in the Visayas island is still standing.


    after walking for 6 hours on the forest covered road, Neo decided to cook the meat for Alice. to celebrate his little victory, if he could, he would also like to feed her at least 3 times a day to cure her malnutrition, and as for him, raw monster meat will be sufficient.


    stopping near the woods Neo scouted the area to make sure theres no dangerous monsters near them before making a fire with the falling branch''s of the tree around them.


    "brother, why did you start a fire? the day is still long rigth?"


    "i know...but we will have lunch today" Neo sai, as he pull two raw thigh meat from his bag, before grilling it to the fire he just made.

    few minutes later, Alice finally ate the whole thigh meat, resulting for her being unable to walk due to being too full.


    Neo laugh at her sister *miss fortune*,but then he let Alice ride his shoulder for the whole afternoon of traveling.

 7 Neos Pov : Arriving to the fortress.

    efore the apocalypse started


    i was just a normal student in Dumangas public school, and like some kids my age, i got troubles on socializing with others.


    because of that, i often find my self alone,


    i love to spend my time at home playing video game and reading novel.


    while some people in my age are itching to go outside to socialize with others, I, on the other hand, will just stay sitted in my favorite couch for the whole day,


    even as a certified *Loner*, it doesn''t mean that, i, don''t have any friend at all, as a matter of fact, i got three friend, they are, me ,myself, and I".


    one of my favorite past time in school is observing people in my class, as they display there public facade. why do human tries so hard to appear someone they''re not.


    and i learned that the hard way. in my class there is a popular girl name Mocha, she''s a cheerful, nice, and friendly young girl. as her personality goes, she''s was very nice to everybody including to the pathetic me,


    one fateful day, i decided to confess my feelings for her...why? you asked, well she''s the only girl that will always spare a few seconds of her life greeting me in class and also she beautiful.....Ahemm.


    plus also i learned that, she didn''t have a boyfriend that time, so i thought i will have a chance to make her my girlfriend.


    i gathered every remaining courage, i have just to gave her a love letter, that i carefully wrote for atleast 5 hours.

    and during that time, i could not even recall how many normal civilians and military personnels, i saw being slathered by monsters


    also in that year the dumangas bunker was destroyed by a monster tide, but thankfully we manage to escape in lublub LHF-N3.


    monster tide is an explained phenomenon where monster of the same kind will gather and attack together. it happens in random time and random place.


    living this unpredictable life, is like torture , every day you will fear if could you have something to eat tommorow, or you migth be one of the unlucky one''s, that will died under the monsters feet


    there are times that i thought of why, i''m i even struggling to live in this god forsaken world,


    but then my sister who is already 5 years old at that time , reminds me, that i still have someone that cares and trust me.

    Alice and i, has finally reached our destination after traveling for 1 and a half week in foot.


    while where traveling, i manage to kill and devour a few low rank beast to increase my strength while feedinh my sister with roasted meat every day.

    "Neo Jones and Alice Jones, we are survivors from LHF-A3 , we''re here to seek refuge" i answered in a matter of factly.


    "Survivor?...how can that be, LHF-A3 has been destroyed 11 days ago, how can the two of you survive in the wild, for so long?....unless one of you is an evolved human" the man said .


    "your rigth, i just evolved, few day ago" i answered.


    "great!, a new evolved human, just arrived in our door! , take this card and go to the gates inner most layer of the fortress, after that show it to a guard he will guide you inside" after the man voice vanished, a green card suddenly came out of a small hole. near the deal pad.


    i took the green card and put it to my pocket, shortly aftet that, a mechanism of the huge door started, creating a small opening, for Alice and me to go inside


    while we''re walking inside, i saw people living in the slum, and old dirty building. it was a typical situation in every fortress, normal human lives in slums on the first walled layer of the fortress


    while evolutioners can have a room in the inner most layer of the fortress where living conditions are much better.


    people around the area ,only gave us a quick glance before returning to what they are doing.


    "i wonder, if Miss Jesseca was around?" Alice said as she turned her cute little head left and rigth with anticipation in her eyes.


    "we will know eventually,.just be patient for a bit" i told her.


    reaching the second wall, we are greeted by two man wearing full Kevlar armor, with a printed LHF-N1 characters on there chest area.


    after seeing us walk towards them, they shifted there attention to us with *what do you want* kind of look.


    they must a revolutionaries tasked in guarding the second layer of the fortress.


    i pulled a the green card and showed it to them. they took the card and inspect it for a short while.


    "follow me" one of the man suddenly gestured us to follow him to the gates to enter the second layer.


    unlike the outer layer of the fortress, the inner layer has lesser people, while the buildings inside are much better condition, there are few armored vehicles inside that being parked according,


    there are also some planes and a few jets in the wide airport, while few revolutionaries can be seen jogging inside the wide run way.


    Neo also saw the training ground where revolutionaries are doing some exercise drills man and woman a like


    Alice on the other hand remained silent, on the whole trip, maybe because she saw how serious the people are inside here.


    after few minutes of walking we are led into a room, inside the huge mansion. where an beautiful voluptuous woman can be seen doing some paper work,


    she got long black hair, emerald colored eyes, while wearing her black business attire as she gives off the temperament of someone in power.


    after sensing our presence, she turned her head toward me and my sister, and gave a small smile, excluding her womanly charms


    standing up from her chair gracefully, she stretched her hand towards me,

    Sharon led us into a little house near the inner walls, the house look a little old, but if you compare it to there house in the slums, this could already be called luxurious.

    after i scrubbed her hair and body through out, Alice has finally regain her cute and clean look.


    having nothing, clean to wear, i took one of the medium size white t-shirt provided by one of wardrobe and let Alice wear it temporarily.


    even though the t-shirt was too big for her, i think its ok for the time being


    after that i cooked a meat stew, from the ingredients that was provided by the refrigerator,


    "how are you liking your new home Alice?" i asked Alice who is lazing on the couch while playing with fluffy.


    "the house is great!, but wonder how the magic tube creates warm water " Alice suddenly asked


    there are no tap water in the previous fortresses, thats why they could only get water from wells or water pump. so is the first time Alice saw a *magic tube that creates water*.


    "hahaha, thats a tap and it doesn''t use magic to work" i said, as i serve her the meat stew.

    "eat up" ignoring my sisters funny remarks, i gave her the bowl of meat stew. that she happily eat.


    after setting up my sister, i walked inside the bathroom to take a long bath. while relaxing on the tub I decided to checked on my status.

    after Neo walked inside the building, he felt gazes, sizing him up from the crowd of evolutionaries ,


    ignoring there gaze, Neo saw woman decoding in a computer in middle of the back side of the first floor.


    feeling that she might be able to help him, Neo walked toward the girl. she has a black wavy hair, a fine and beautiful face, and a slender body figure.


    "why are all the female working here, are all beautiful? "Neo thought in his mind, as he walked towards the girl.


    "excuse me, im a new revolutionary, i was told to come here?" Neo asked.


    hearing this the girl turned his head towards him.


    "ummm, yes i was expecting you...er-" the girl check one of her folders


    "Mr, Neo Jones...you are assigned to be a LHF-N1 Scout Ranger. take this letter and go upstairs, a man will give you, you''re equipments, after that return here " the girl gave Neo a small receipt.

    walking inside the room with the tag name armaments on top of the door, he was greeted by a thin old man, with bald head,

    after being fully geared. Neo walk down, to the first floor to meet the female receptionist.

    virtual points can be use to, participate in a rank promotion test after reaching tier 10 in your rank or exchange it for rewards in the fortress,

    Liana calmly, turns around, and walked inside the deployment supplies building. without a word to Neo.

    early in the morning,bin the outer layer, Neo could see that normal people are busy working,


    most of them are building wooden houses, while some are tending to there crops, and others are doing some mechanical stuffs.


    "this place is much better than my previous fortress, in there we could only plant outside our walls. unlike here that they manage to cultivate almost half of the land inside the wall, into fields where food crops could grow, because there walled area is huge enough." Neo thought.


    Neo didn''t realize it before, because Alice and him arrived in the fortress at dawn, where sky is about to go dark.


    as they walk the road, citizen of the outer layer that they encounter would always nod and smile towards them, after realizing that Neo and Liana are members of the revolutionary because of there uniform.

    in Neo''s previous fortress, revolutionary there tends to be unruly, so citizens would try there best, to avoid them on the road. because ordinary humans cannot possibly figth against a evolved human.


    the gate of the outer layer is wide open, because people are working ouside, while some are dragging woods inside the fortress.


    after Neo and Liana walk outside, Neo could see LHF-N1 Guardians that are wearing blue Kevlar vest while holding there weapons, are patrolling the outer side of the fortress, while letting normal people, cut down trees and dragging them inside the fortress.


    Guardians are revolutionaries, that are tasked in guarding, the fortress and the people that are living there. unlike the scouts, they have a stable points and tier points income. but not all could easily rank up, they need to pass there promotion test first to increase it.


    after walking away from the fortress Liana pulled her smart device and check for routes. Neo on the other silently follows her.


    on the dense jungle, full of abnormally huge trees and vegetation, they suddenly encounter. a rabbit like creature with only two feet. it was as big as Neo''s leg, and has a 1 centimeter long dagger like horn in its head.

    Liana turned his head towards Neo, who already pulled his spear. she signaled him to attack the monster. before backing away.


    Neo hurriedly clutched he spear , before dashing towards the rabbit, he tried to stab the rabbit like creature,

    the rabbit jump out of the way, where Neo''s spear. attack was directed.


    seeing how fast the monster is Neo felt a little threatened. he tried to stab the monster for the second time, but then again, it nimbly jump out of the way.


    as it land on the ground, the monster hurriedly jump again, but this time aiming this head towards Neo, who was still pulling his spear to prepare for another attack.


    Liana who is watching on the sidelines, suddenly raised his arm, sending a palm size ice chunk towards the speeding rabbit, the chuck of ice hits the rabbit , that was currently flying halfway towards neo''s head,


    the force of chuck of ice managed to shifted the flight path of the rabbit.and because of that, the rabbit like creature''s attack missed Neo''s head by a hair length.


    Neo break out in a cold sweat, when he realized that, if Liana didn''t thrown that attack just now, he might been actually been dead.


    it was actually Neo''s first time welding a spear, so it was expected, that he will likely not be able to use it properly.


    Neo turned his head towards Liana and gave her a appreciative nod, before attacking the rabbit again.


    this time, the attack he do are carefully made. he use the range advantage of his spear, so that if the rabbit decided to launch an attack towards him, he could have more time to move out of the way.


    few minutes later, Neo did so many stab and swipe attack, but each time he did so, the rabbit has already move out of the way. making him hit the wind instead.


    Liana on the other hand, found a small boulder nearby to sit in, while watching Neo and the rabbit exchange blows.


    one hour later, the rabbit like creature finally showed signs of being tired, while Neo on the other hand was still full of energy, thanks to his stamina that was improved, by day to day heavy physical activities.


    after a few more minutes, Neo, has finally manage to hit the rabbit like creature''s rigth feet , with a horizontal sweep with his spear, and disabling the monster on the process.

    the rabbit like creature suddenly felt that he was in the disadvantage, so after landing on the ground, he used left leg to hop away.


    but as soon as the rabbit like creature turn around and hop away from Neo, a crystal like ice shard suddenly flew towards its body.

    the monster body was pierced by the ice shard. but the force in the shard the didn''t disperse, instead it dragged the body of the rabbit like creature''s along with it, nailing it to a nearby tree.

    the sun is blazing in the middle of the sky above, when Neo pulled his spear from the bloody remains, of a monster that he just impaled.


    catching his breath, he slowly turn his head to ,a young woman that is watched him figth, with her cold unmoved eyes.


    "thanks. " Neo said towards the girl, as he catch his breath and wipe his sweat. the girl didn''t react, but instead jump down from a boulder, to resume there path ahead.


    Neo didn''t know what''s the girl problem is. she migth really be mute ,or she just doesn''t like to speak at all. but he didn''t ask, he know that, he didn''t have the rigth to intrude her personal life.


    wiping away the blood and brain matter from his steel spear, Neo strapped it in his back. before turning his head to the battered bunny monster. as he stretched his arms to free the carcass from being nailed from the tree.


    the smell of iron ferments the air, as blood spurt from the monster wounds, having no time to waste, Neo opened his mouth wide and devoured the monster bite after bite.


    Liana felt that no one is following her, confused she turned around to see whats going on. after that, her eyes widens from shock and horror, when she saw Neo, savagely tearing the monster bunny apart with his bare teeth.


    feeling someone''s staring at him, Neo suddenly halt from taking another bite in the monsters carcass, before slowly casting his eyes to the girl that was frozen from shock.

    as the mad boar hits his spear, with its long metalic horn, Neo felt a huge force that lifted him up in the air before launching him towards a nearby tree.

    "..aaaaarg " Neo grunt in pain, his hand felt numb, while his back is screaming from pain. as a sweet taste blood lingers his mouth.


    Liana on the other hand tried to condense an ice wall, but she''s was only halfway finished when the boar reach her,


    the boar didn''t slow down as it broke the half finished ice wall, with its horn, while hitting Liana in the process. she flew like a kite that lost its string, before crashing to a tree nearby.


    "Liana!" Neo face fell,


    "sh*t it looks like, i dont have a choice"


    enduring the pain, Neo tried to stand up with his shaky legs, Throwing his spear on the ground, he pulled his long sleeves to reveal his rigth forearm.


    *sliiing*


    a huge black curved blade, sprang out from Neo''s almost healed for arm. he ignoring the shearing pain, he suddenly bends his legs, and kick forward.

    he used the Explosive Skip, to dashed towards the rampaging boar.


    the boar was about to rush towards Liana for the second time, but Neo would not let that happen. raising his rigth arm, he hurriedly unleashed a vertical slash in the boar back side..

    Neo''s blade was so sharp that, the boars hide was easily penetrated. creating a long, deep wound that shifted the boars attention to him.

    the boar was launched an attack towards Neo , but it only manage to hit the wind, because Neo has already jump out of the way using his skills.


    "without getting hit, I just need to tire him out and inflict as much damage, as i can. " Neo though.


    but before he can do another move, a huge white silhouette of a monster slowly walking towards them.

 14 ALREADY LOS

    The huge white figure, suddenly lunged towards the wounded boar with its blurring speed. the iron horn boar could not react in time, before the white beast sink it fangs to its throat , hindering it from breathing, while the white beast use its body to stop the boar, from stuggling.


    *whieeeee....eck*


    The boar could only managed to make a single snarl, before his body finally stops moving. returning the silence.from the forest.


    Neo could not believe what he was seeing, a huge white wolf bigger, than the iron horn boar, suddenly comes out of nowhere and steals his kill.


    *ding* "its an Albino Wolf, i suggest you slowly back away rigth now!, you have no chance in defeating it in your current state!"


    The notification suddenly rang in his mind, as text appeared in the corner of Neo''s eyes. seeing this,he instantly knew that it was from the goddess subordinate, from at the words used, it looks like wasn''t a joking matter.


    So after knowing that he will likely have no chance in defeating the huge wolf, Neo tip toed, to where Liana was located while the white wolf was still busy.


    But unfortunately Neo , has underestimated the wolfs sense of hearing. letting go of this prey''s throat the white wolf turned his head to where Neo was standing.


    "sh*t" Neo cursed in his mind.


    there are no hiding spot in sigth, so Neo knew that if he runs now, the beast will likely to reach him, before he can find somewhere to hide. so, as the saying goes cornered rats will figth back.


    Feeling of helplessness envelopes Neo, so now, he could only do anything in his power, to survive his current predicament,


    Neo pulled the sleeves of his left forarm, to summon another crescent blade, if the White wolf decided attacks him, he was resolute to keep figth it until the end.


    "i don''t want to die, not like this!, Alice still needs me!"Neo thought, as veins of iron, emerged from his neck.


    Neo only used his rigth arm to summon one blade before, but now his life was in danger, he should use both his arm to summon both of the shadow blades, to atleast increase his chance of surviving.


    but when he was about to summon the other blade, the white wolf that was staring at him a second ago, suddenly turned its head back to the boar.


    The white wolf bite the boars neck, before dragging it back it the woods, disappearing from Neo''s view.


    "Ehhhhhh?"Neo


    after seeing this Neo could only sigh in relief, before he recalled the curved blade back to his rigth forarm.

    "i guess the wolf didn''t want to waste his time and enegry to catching a little piece of meat, when a huge one is infront of it" Neo though.


    He know that the iron horn Boar was a loss, but atleast he was able to keep his life. so he was a little thankful, because of that.


    walking toward the unconscious girl, Neo hurriedly check for her pulse, sure enough, she somehow manage to survive the boars attack, thanks to her ice wall that should have absorbed most of force of the attack from the iron horn boar, before finally hitting her.


    Neo also noticed a crack in the girls white mask, so he decided reach for it to see if its mask was still in good shape, but as soon as his finger touch it, he heard a loud cracking sound.

    the mask was broken in half revealing a face of a stunning woman, with skin, white as snow, oval shape face, and pinkish thin lips.


    Neo could not help but stare at young girl for a few seconds, before finally able avert his gaze from her.


    "why could such a beauty, hide her face in public?"


    seeing how defenceless Liana was, Neo thinks that he needs to return to the fortress as soon as possible.


    after bandaging his rigth forarm, Neo strapped his spear in his bag, before grabbing Liana, holding in a princess carry ,as he walk back to the fortress.


    Neo just hope that monsters he will encounter will not be so strong for him to handle. and thankfully , that what happened.


    reaching halfway on there travel, Liana slowly opened her hazy, ruby like eyes. only to see, that someone his currently carrying her body.


    "is that you, Fa~ther?....your alive?"a small voice of a woman rings in Neo''s ears.


    Neo, who was still carrying Leana stops his tracks, before slowly looking down towards her. but as soon as he look down, he saw a pearly white hand reaching towards his face.


    feeling the smooth and warm hand in his face Neo suddenly stated "im not that, old enough to have a daugther like you." he said in a toneless voice.


    hearing this, Liana hand suddenly come to a paused, before tears suddenly starts falling from her eyes.


    Neo averted his gaze from her, before continuing his steps.


    "her, head must been too foggy, to have mistaken me for his dead father. i know its hard to forget about them, because i myself lost all my family, except for my sister. but there is one thing learned from all of it, the past can''t be change, unlike the future" Neo thought.


    "you''ll only keep hurting yourself, if you keep dwelling at something you already lost, so why not try, letting it go?" Neo murmured in a low voices.


    after saying those word, Neo could only stare on the thory path ahead, and resume walking to the lonely forest.

 15 Mind Dimension

    The sun was about to go on its slumber, when Neo finally saw the fortress from a distance. he also noticed that people has already gone inside, and the cold metal gates are already tightly close.


    a long sigh of relief escape from Neo''s mouth, as he continued to move his legs, that are shaking from tiredness. he twisted his head towards his shoulders, to wipe the beads of sweat that are flowing out from his forehead.


    the injury he took from the iron horn boar''s attack, was still painful but it wasn''t enough to hinder him from walking normally.


    Liana was still in Neo''s embrace, when she pass out from crying her heart out. resulting for Neo to hold her the entire time.


    And for the reason that night dwelling monsters, often comes out in the middle of the nigth to find some prey in this thick jungle . plus the fact that Liana was injured, and has lost her means to defend herself. camping on the woods was not a good idea.


    With no other choice, but to continue holding the unconscious Liana, Neo, decided to travel in the fortress as fast as he could.


    If others saw him holding Liana in his arms, they will like envy how, lucky he was for having a chance to embrace such a beauty girl.


    But for Neo, he can''t wait to just drop her down on the ground, to rest his arm that were burning from pain.


    And In spite of the fact, that Neo was alot stronger than before, holding a grown girl for 4 hours straight, was still a grueling task for him.

    "yes, thank you" Neo said towards the guardian, as he slowly let Liana lay down on top of a bench near him.


    the guardian took his smart device and started fidgeting with it for a short while. before putting it back to his belt.


    "you should have send, a distress signal in the headquarters, life is much important than pride after all" the man said with a serious expression.


    hearing this Neo could only stare at the man in disbelief,


    "can, i really do that?" Neo asked


    "erm...of course....could it be that your a new recruit?" man asked raising is eyebrows.


    "yes"Neo.


    "that explains everything, so let me explain how this works, using your smart device you can send the distress signal to our headquarter, but make sure to write your situation so that the rescue team act accordingly. but every time you call for help, your rank will likely decrease."

Neo explained.


    "its a little strange for a monster, to not attack a human after seeing it , but i guess both of you got lucky" the man smiled to cheer up Neo.

    shortly after a group 4 of people, riding a jeep arrive, they are wearing sets of white clothes with the printed word medic, on there back.


    they put on Liana a stretcher before putting her inside the jeep, Neo also followed them, to get his back injury treated. after he bid the guardian his farewell.


    arriving on the hospital, a plump Nurse with black short hair, named Diana applied some ointment on his back, before bandage it.


    Diana also advised him stop moving around so much until his injury was healed. *he nods his head to that*


    before walking out Neo heared that his Liana would need few days to recover from her ligth internal injury, and.....mana depletion?


    "mana whats that?"the tried asking the goddess subordinate.

    After that, he steam some rice and cook a meat dish for her sister..before walking to the sofa to lay down and rest his tired body.


    Few minutes later his little sister Alice returned home with skipping steps. Upon seeing his brother Alice, happily run towards him.


    "brother I''ve returned !"she yell in joy.


    Neo smiled weakly, "well it looks like your in a good mood. loving this place already?"


    "yes! , Alice, made lot of friends!" Alice said cheerfully.


    "thats great...so did you eat dinner?" Neo asked

    The memory given to him by the system, didn''t explain much about the mind dimension. the only thing he knew, is that, its a dimension ,where he can train and learn skill.


    Neo let the system to activate the mind dimension. out of his curiosity and maybe for a chance to get stronger.

    he felt the ticking sensation of the grass beneath him, as his whole body tried to get use to the chills in his surroundings.

    he slowly stands up and suddenly notice something on he sky. after looking up Neo''s eyes widen. he saw a huge floating island rigth above his head. the floating island was bind by a huge chain which is attached to another floating island and there was another chain to it that was attached to another islands.... wait what?


    Neo finally realized that the sky is filled with small island that are chained from one to another.


    and in each floating island are filled with different kinds of beautiful architecture that are blending, with tree and vegetation in the said island.


    Neo could not take his eyes from the sky, from amazement. when suddenly, a deep voice of a man, has taken his attention.


    "what are you doing boy! "


    the voice of an old man rangs to his ears, looking down he saw an old man threw an axe towards him.


    The axe was so fast, that Neo could only stare at the axe helplessly, as it pass through in the rigth side of his head, hitting leopard like creature in the skull.


    the creature was covered in thick black mist. and was about to pounce on Neo. when the man successfully repelled the attack by throwing his axe.

    the beast could only issued a small growl before falling to the ground, unmoving. as the mist around its body slowly dissipate, revealing a cat like creature with a body as big as a dog, and fur black as ink.


    Neo subconsciously unleashed both of his twin shadow blade from fright. wounding his arms on the process.


    "thats a late reaction ,coming from you, boy" the old man said in a calm manner.


    the old man stretched his arms again, suddenly, the Axe started vibrating before unlodge itself from the monsters skull, and flying back the old mans hand. he then put it back to its holster, that was in his back.


    "...urg" the sharp pain on is for arm has woken Neo from his daze, he clutched both of his forarm to stop wounds that, he inflected to himself from bleeding.


    the old man has a bald head, and a long white beard, he was big and tall and was wearing a leather loincloth and armlets, he also has a large red tattoo across his face and upper body, Neo also saw a huge scar in his abdomen and his rigth eye.


    "tell me, who are you, and what are you doing in this woods, boy? " the old man asked in a deep voice. glaring at Neo menacingly.


    but before Neo could answer, a big white bird suddenly land between them and shining in a eye blinding light, before turning into a young woman with fair white skin.


    the girl looks like she was 16 or 17 years old, she has a straight , golden, long hair, gentle yet seductive face. she was wearing a white chiton dress to cover her, perfect hour glass figure.


    Neo could not believe his eyes, how can such woman exists in the world,


    and what the hell is going on?!.


    "hello grandpa Kratos" The young woman suddenly turned his head towards the old man and wave his small cute hands,


    "hmmmm!" the old man squint his eyes. angrily.


    Seeing this, the smile in the girl face suddenly vanish. she straighten her posture before saying "ahhh..i mean, Sir!"


    "what, is the purpose of you, coming here, Freya!" the old man said sending waves of killing intent.


    "i''m tasked to guide this man, he wants you to teach him your way of figthing" Freya explained. pointing at her back. where Neo is standing.


    "No!...send him back" Kratos said


    "but-" Freya.


    "i said, send him back!" Kratos yelled angrily before turning around.


    "wait, grand-...i mean Sir! , read this letter first" Freya throw a piece of paper towards the old man , that he easily caught.

 17 Cut this wood

    Hearing Kratos approval Neo thanked him "thank you, Mr Kratos". After that, He stands up, after groveling in the ground. Only to see that ,Freya is looking at him with amused look.


    "What?" Neo, squinted his eyes, he hate that kind of face, he could clearly remember that it was the same face that her classmates makes, when they''re about to mock him.


    "You really look, uglier in personal" Freya answered, without taking off the smile in her blemish free face.


    Neo knew fully well how unattractive he looks, he got a thin build, average face, and long unkempt hair that almost covering his eyes.


    And If he tries to compare himself to the fairy like creature that was standing next to him. It will be identical, to comparing a beautiful flower to a piece of dung(him).


    "I figured." Neo said emotionlessly, as ignored the Freya. And followed Kratos who is walking towards the woods. That kind of hurting words, does not affect him anymore. He was used to it after all.

    Neo, did not bothered to answer Freya. as he continues walking the same path Kratos took.


    Seeing Neo and Kratos are almost out of her sight. Freya suddenly yelled "hey...wait up!"

    "Come inside, Let''s fix that wounds, boy" Kratos said, before he opened the doors of his house, and walking inside.


    Neo followed him. and saw that the house only had mud floor. While rays of sunlight goes through the gaps and holes of the house.


    Freya on the other hand, didn''t go inside, but instead, walk towards a tree stomp, and sat in there.


    Kratos in the middle of house and opened a dusty box located in there. he took a bottle filled with strange black substance and a roll dusty bandage. after that he then proceeded to where Neo was standing.


    "Arms" Kratos said, while opening a bottle in his hands.


    Neo nodded, he stretched both of his wounded arm, .


    Kratos put one drop of black substance, in both of Neo'' s arms. Before wrapping it with dusty bandages.


    Neo was wondering why this old man suddenly become so friendly towards him. Didn''t he just tried to chase them out a while ago?. But after contemplating for a short while, he decided to set aside that thought for now.


    Neo''s hand are fully bandaged, and now Kratos walked out of the house "follow me"


    Neo followed without question.


    Kratos led, Neo to a nearby tree stump.where Freya was sitting alone, playing with some critters that are flocking to get her attention.


    "Why are you still here?" Kratos asked, towards Freya. The animal that are flocking to her, hurriedly dispersed. After seeing Kratos walking towards them.


    "i need to check on him!" Freya pointed Neo.


    Kratos raised his eyebrows "i don''t need you to keep an eye on him, now move out of the way.... or perhaps want me to crack your skull open, so that you''ll understand!" Kratos said in a menacing manner. While pulling his axe from his back.


    "Fine!...bleee" Freya stick her tongue out. Before turning into a bird and flew away.


    Kratos followed the Freya with his gaze until it was nowhere on sight. before turning his head towards Neo."Never trust a Gods or a Goddesses are we clear ,Boy!"


    "Crystal clear!" Neo answered. He doesn''t have any issues with that.


    "Good!....now this is your first task" Kratos put a log above a tree trump. then he spread his foot apart from each other, while holding the axe with both hands, he put the axe next to his waist, before suddenly doing a full swing, splitting the log that he placed in the tree trunk in half.

    "Mimic my action, and hit the log on the crack" after Kratos said that, he handed his axe to Neo.


    After that, Kratos walked to a wooden couch near his house. Before sitting there to watch Neo do his thing.


    Neo was at loss. "Splitting wood? Aren''t, i suppose to learn about fighting?"


    "i guess, i should just finish, cutting all of his wood before, asking him"Neo thought.


    He tried to swing the axe to see if the wound on his hands would hurt, but unexpectedly it didn''t. *as expected of the black liquid* so he just proceeded on cutting some wood for the old man.

    This was Neo typical behavior, he love finishing something that are hard for him to do. like in video games when he play in hell mode, he will try and try until finish the game. He will even skip sleep if he needs to.because after finishing an impossible task. He will feel satisfied afterwards for him that was the best feeling.


    with numb arms, Neo powerlessly, laid down on the ground bathing on his own sweat. while a satisfied smile, was plastered in his face.

 18 Im Still A

    It''s been 5 days since, Neo first arrived in this strange world, where everything looks like, it was out of a fantasy book.


    When he look up, Neo would see different kinds of colorful birds, freely roaming the sky, and if you turn your head north, you will see nine floating islands chain together. To form a pyramid like formation. There are five islands on the lower levels, while there is three islands in the middle, one island as the highest.


    And on the highest island, there is huge golden palace that was visible even to Neo''s naked eye.


    Freya often comes out of nowhere, to watch Neo smack some wood. In one of her visits she explained, that the dimensions Neo was in, was called Midgard. And the floating island above them are called Asgard, she lives there.


    Freya revealed, that the goddess she was serving is called Gaia mother of world. And the one who gave Neo the system was also her.


    She used the *wisp of life* or *points* that Neo collected from the monsters he defeated, to make a duplicate of himself in this realm. So that he can train here.


    Freya also warned him, that if his duplicate died, so was his real body because the two are interconnected in away.


    Freya also supplied Neo''s, some blue crystals, she called monster cores, and if Neo swallowed one or two of it every day, it could already stop Neo from going hungry for the whole day.


    Freya also told him that, he can only stay here for 1 week before waking up to his world. She said that, the time here is faster than Neo''s world, so he didn''t need to worry about oversleeping.

    After seeing my stats i have a finally have a rough idea of how strong the man is.

    Neo saw a bunch glittering silver balls. it looks like a cannon ball but more shinier.


    "Training orbs, a dwarf Invention, you will be using this, to train your body for 4 to 10 hours a day. the energy it uses will recharge when not use." Kratos said.

    "I wonder what kind of enery it uses" Neo thought.for a short while before setting it aside.


    "So, how do, I use this?"Neo grab of the balls, and tried searching for a button.


    "It''s easy to use, just put the orbs under your foot, then yell start" Kratos said.


    Hearing this Neo poured all the orb under his feet before yelling "START!".

    "khuuuuu" Neo yelp once again, he didn''t see that one coming. because of that he was hit in the back.


    But thanks to his days of training his body. He could somehow manage take the hit from the ball and remain standing.


    "If you what to learn how to fight you must not try to dodge it! ,as a fighter you must first learn how to handle and ignore physical pain!" Kratos yelled.


    "aren''t I suppose to dodge this!"Neo yelled in horror. as he dodges a ball that he saw coming.

    Kratos has finally stopped the, Beating Simulation. With that Neo finally let out a sigh of relief, before falling to the ground with a thud.

    but, then he notices that his limpy arms are now a little buffer than it used to be. a little curious he also tried checking his torso, sure enough, his body is now showing a few muscle outlines. he might grow some abs in the future. he also notice that his back wasn''t aching anymore.


    "i feel like hunting something!" Neo was too eager to use his strength on some real monster,


    but then he remembered that his mentor, might still be in the hospital.so that means he can''t take any SR missions.


    a little disappointed by the fact, Neo could not do anything except for waiting , so pulled his blanket back to his body and returned to sleep.

    in Midgard, the bed he was sleeping is very hard and dusty. So after came back, and slept in a foam mattress, he just can''t just get himself part with it. even if his cute little sister is trying hard to make him.

    Neo stretched both his hand to grab Alice by the cheeks. because of annoyances.

    Neo pulled it a little before letting go of her cheeks. He then decided that, its time for him wake up.


    "Hmm.... I just remember, there must be a list of people''s name that are living in this place, in the ecopedia." Neo said.


    he grabbed his belt from the table near him and took the smart device inside it.


    He opened the ecopedia icon, and browse towards the list of people that are currently living in LHF-1N. there names and pictures we''re actually there, and were arranged in alphabetical order.


    Using the search botton, he typed the name Jessica. after a short loading time, the device had filtered the names, until two people was left in the display. And one of them is the blond hair girl Jessica. which is currently a nurse in the hospital of the inner layer.


    "There she is!" Alice yelled in glee after seeing Jessica''s picture. in the smart device.


    "Go and take a bath Alice, let go find her in the hospital after we eat breakfast." Neo said.


    "Kay!" Alice skipped happily, towards the bath room.


    Neo also stand up from bed. To prepare breakfast, for the both of them. He just felt like eating something, even though it probably won''t help in reducing his hunger.


    *ding* "Neo, i detect a Dungeon that was about to emerge ,inside the fortress, you must take the core magic artifact inside it, before it cause harm for the people who live there."


    "Wait a minute Freya.....dungeons? What''s that?" Neo asked, Freya in his mind.


    *ding*"it''s the place where a group of monsters are animated with the use of mana, it was created by an owner less ancient magic artifacts, to find strong owners.


    Also, according to the ancient records, I read, there are a lot of powerful magic artifacts, from the banished ancient gods, were buried in the land of exile(earth).


    There is no mana here before, so the magic artifact that were thrown here are pretty much useless, until now that is.


    and when the gods that were turned into a mortal were to die, the artifacts that they owned will really become owner less. its not a big deal before, but now that mana is flowing in your world, the forgotten artifacts are being awaken.


    these artifacts that are deeply hidden your world, will crazily absorb mana and create dimension pockets which we call dungeons.


    and if no one was able to take them in the duration of 4 to 10 days, the Artifact will break the dungeon it made, to search owners in places. they will create another dungeon.


    And the monster that are once''s inside these dungeons will escape. to wreak havoc to its surrounding .


    If you don''t stop it now, the cycle of the artifact, creating and destroying dungeons will continue, as long mana was present.


    So, before it released the monsters inside the dungeon it created. You must take the artifacts that were located in the inner most part of the dungeons."

    "It''s me, Liana!" she can''t believe that Neo has already forgotten about her. After all, it just been a few hours, since they parted way, so it impossible for Neo to forget about her already.

    It''s been seven days since Neo last saw her. so Neo''s memory about Liana''s face was a bit fuggy.


    he also remembered that the girls mask was broken. That must be the reason she was not wearing one now. so he will not ask her about this questions.

    Neo walked around the hospital while holding his sister hands. He also tried to talk to the staffs of the hospital to know where a nurse named Jessica was located.


    After walking for good amount of time, Neo and Alice, have finally managed to find Jessica. She was currently about to leave the room where an is sleeping old woman. when she saw Alice and Neo near the door.


    "Sister Jessica!" Alice run towards Jessica happily.


    "Alice! yo-you survive!" Jessica bend her knees and open her arms wide to catch Alice.


    The two girls started to hug each other.


    "I thought, your are forever gone! thank goodness your alive!" Jessica could not hold her tears, she started crying on the spot, while gripping Alice even tighter.


    Like Neo and Alice, Jessica also lost her parent''s because of the apocalypse. because of fate she manage to meet Alice and Neo while the similarity of situation, became the bridge for them to become friend.


    There are plenty of times that Neo would occasionally share some of their food to her. and in exchange she will also share some of her food to Neo and Alice if they have nothing to eat.


    Because of that, she considered the Jones siblings as her second family. Especially Alice, she always follows her while she was working.


    And often times, Alice will help her in taking care of some patients. that caused Jessica became fond of her.


    When the calamity strikes them, she learned the Alice and Neo did not manage to ride one of the escape trucks. because of that shocking revelation, it caused her to be depressed for days and occasionally found herself crying in the night, every time she remember Alice and Neo.


    But now that Alice was right in front of her safe and sound. she could only cry in joy. Jessica could not even explain how happy she is rigth now.

    Neo turned to the direction of the sound and saw a young man with short black hair, blemish free, rectangular face and a thin body build. the man was wearing a white uniform for doctors.

    "roger.."Jessica turned to Neo and Alice with apologetic look.


    "Go on, we just came to visit you " Neo said.


    Jessica wiped her tear and nodded.


    "Sister Jessica , can I come?" Alice asked.


    "No!, this is a hospital not a play ground, go outside, if you want to play." the man said coldly cutting Jessica that was about to agree.


    "The rules here are not the same, sorry about that Alice...Neo i must go. let hang out some times" after saying that, Jessica walk out of the room with fast steps.


    "What, a rude guy." Neo thought.
