 1 Eloping Together

    Night.


    There was a young man, probably in his early twenties, busy writing something in a brightly lit room.


    He was sitting at the copper-red study desk, holding onto a pen and writing something onto the paper after giving some thought.


    The faint yellow light radiated by the candle reflected brightly off his blond hair onto his fair and handsome face. His name was Kael Strider.

    The sound of notification on the phone distracted him from his study. Realizing it was already dark outside, so he checked his phone.


    The message was from his girlfriend Sophia Lowell, but upon reading the content he was shocked at his very core.


    ''Today the Head of Hammer Pharmaceuticals proposed my marriage to his eldest son, Louise Hammer and my father accepted his proposal. He had already fixed the date of marriage as well, without my consent. I tried to change his decision but he won''t listen to me and my mother refused to consider anyone of lower social standing.''


    ''If you love me then come to the playground behind the college campus before midnight, we will elope together. We can change their point of view with time after the marriage. I will be waiting for you''


    He and Sophia met each other through an online chat group. Though they first started as enemies, they eventually got to know each other and ultimately developed feelings towards each other.


    But Sophia''s family background was worlds apart from his. Her family had reached a point where their assets had surpassed a massive number which was in the billions. So naturally, they would not hand over their only daughter to some unheard-of man such as him!


    Even then, Kael Strider was not a poor and miserable nobody. He had a luxurious home, a few branded cars, and a few hundred thousand dollars in his bank account. In the eyes of regular women, he was what they would deem a bachelor with exceeding qualifications. Still, compared to the Lowell Family, there existed a huge gap between them.


    With his efforts in vain, the elders of the Lowell Family treated him just as coldly. They almost chased him out of the house! The only thing that Sophia could do was to shed tears for him. She could never agree to this planned marriage on her own. She only resorted to eloping as there was no other method for them to be together.


    After calming down, Kael changed his clothes and took his car keys before rushing out of the house.

    A faint horn sound could be heard floating in the night sky as if spirits were howling. But it also sounded like the low hum of a certain animal.

    A man with a tall and strong figure opened up the grass bushes in front of him. He looked left and right as he immediately tightened the black gun in his hand and walked forward.


    The man was wearing a white body-hugging leather suit. He was also carrying a leather bag, his whole body covered with a layer of protective gear. On both sides of his waist, he carried two matte black holsters.


    The moonlight shone down from the sky and fell onto the man''s back. Its light appeared in a faint, pale white color.


    After realizing that there was nothing wrong with his equipment, the man continued to walk forwards.


    However, there were countless men and women with robust build walking behind him in black suits that came out of the cars that followed behind the first car. They each carried a Bluetooth earpiece that blinked red.


    "Do not let him get across," the man in white commanded.


    "The task this time is very easy so, Young Master Louise doesn''t need to supervise it himself. My team members are all capable of capturing a normal alone, with all of us there is no way he could get away" An old man came to ''young master'' Louise.


    "I know it''s overkill but I want to meet the person who dared to have his hand on something that I had my eyes on" he continued, "And it would not be any fun if he reached the playground behind the college campus"


    "Everyone, take positions. Let''s finish the job without any hitch" the old man commanded others in a black suit.

    In the playground behind the college campus, a tall beautiful girl was sitting on the bench giving an otherworldly aura.


    The girl had her golden hair tied in a ponytail. Her skin was fair, her face as sharp as a knife and she gave off a British, glamorous vibe but this view had a major flaw and that was the fact that she was crying instead of smiling. There was a deep longing in her eyes with a mix of nervousness and anxiety.


    Her name was Sophia Lowell, waiting here for her boyfriend, Kael Strider.


    Soon, she was disturbed by noise from car engines as a lot of cars rushed towards her.


    "No, how can they be here? I made sure that no one would find out about my escape from home" looking at numerous cars there was a look of anger and reluctance on her face, as a large number of guards surrounded her.


    A mature woman walked towards her from one of the cars and answered "It was Young Master Louise, who contacted us about your whereabouts. It would be wise for you to follow us back, otherwise, we would have to use force as your father, Master Lowell has ordered us to break a few bones of that Kael Strider, if you refuse to come"

    Kael was rushing towards the playground as fast as he could but due to the distance between his house and his destination, it took him almost an hour to reach the campus.


    Just as he was about to take a turn towards the playground, a large SUV blocked his way. In his rush to reach there instead of waiting for the SUV to give way he ran out of his car towards the playground which was less than a kilometer away from here but before he could gain some speed something huge hit him in the back of his head and soon everything turned black as he lost his consciousness.

 2 A Prayer To Change The Fate

    Somewhere in the Andes mountain range, a helicopter lands on a snow-covered helipad that was in a state of disrepair. From it, a man with a tall and strong figure wearing a white leather jacket came out.


    Soon he was greeted by his old butler who started nagging him the moment he saw him "Young Master Louise, it''s the day of your marriage, why are you here? You should have contacted me if you required something, instead of coming here yourself. If you are late for your wedding your parents would be very angry with you."


    "Don''t worry Walter, I have asked my father for his private jet so I will reach the venue on time, so let''s see how my ''love rival'' is going to congratulate me on my wedding with his girlfr¡­ I mean my fianc¨¦ Sophia" He replied to the old butler before walking off towards the building guarded by a large number of guards.

    Kael Strider woke from his sleep, or better call it a nightmare, because of the sound of the Iron door opening. He knew it would be another day of torture for him.


    "Hello there! Hehehe¡­ I can see that you are in a bad situation here, ain''t ya?" Said the man who entered his room but upon hearing this voice, a chill went down his spine but he forced himself to calm down and started to wait for another ''torture session'' to begin but this man kept talking to him.


    The man approached him and sat on a chair near his bed. He crossed his legs and said, "You must be wondering why I left my soon to be wife to come here before my wedding"


    "Hmph, cut the bullshit!" Kael coldly said in a hoarse voice as he stared at his captor. He knew that Louise Hammer was adamant about marrying Sophia Lowell.


    However, this was not because of his feelings towards her, it was due to the Lowell Family''s fortune.


    Both Lowell and Hammer Families were massive figures in their respective industries. If they were to unite through marriage in the case of Sophia''s parent''s demise, Hammer Pharmaceuticals would be able to swallow the entirety of Lowell family business as Sophia was the only heir to the business empire.


    Hearing this, Louise chuckled but his facial expression contained no intentions of humor.


    He said coldly, "That bitch delayed the wedding for 4 months because she had to find you! Hmph! After the wedding, I shall go back and take really good care of her."


    Kael went into a rage, he tried to pounce at Louise from the bed but he was stopped by the straps that kept him in place so he shouted, "If you even dare to lay your hand on a strand of her hair, I''ll kill you! I will kill every last one of your kin"


    "Hahaha¡­ not only will I be going to touch a strand of her hair, but I will also be going to mess her up, mess her up badly! That bitch slept with you several times, did she not? Then that bitch made me out to be a bad person!" Louise''s handsome countenance faded.


    "Bastard!" Kael said in the same hoarse voice.


    Louise scoffed and began the preparations for the ''session'' but he was interrupted by his butler Walter "Sir, please stop! Blood will stain your clothes, which will result in further delay. You can torture him after your wedding"


    "Kael, this time I will not play with you but I will make sure you get to see the wedding of your girlfriend and how I play with her after that. Live!" He said coldly as he walked away along with the butler, leaving a crying Kael all alone.


    He was captured and then tortured by Louise Hammer, the ''to be husband'' of his girlfriend Sophia Lowell before they could elope together.


    It has been like that for months now, he stopped counting after passing the 100th day, he couldn''t even scream from pain anymore, as his throat was torn open during one of his ''torture sessions''.


    He was given first-class medical treatment from the doctors here whenever he was at his last breath, they would treat him enough to save his life and then the sessions would start again until he was at his last breath or when his body would give him some relief in form of unconsciousness.


    He tortured Kael in all kinds of ways, cutting, whipping, starving him for several days, and even forcing him to watch the video clips from his dates with Sophia just so he could see the look in his eyes when he was kissing her.


    First, he was asking him why all this cruelty, but as the days went on, Kael knew that his begging and crying wouldn''t do him any good so he just turned into a mute, neither responding to her questions nor showing any reaction.


    He just stopped wailing like a slaughtered pig and accepted his fate, yet the hatred and rage that dwelled within him kept growing every second.


    In fact, he wanted to kill him in the worst possible way and pay back everything he had done to him until now, yet he knew that it was just wishful thinking.


    He was never a religious man, he never believed in God.


    Yet after all the time prayed, he was sure that if God existed he had already forsaken him, or just never cared at all. Kael was but an insignificant being to God, why would HE do anything to save him?


    And so the hellish days continued and Kael''s rage only grew greater and greater until today. After some time a huge TV was placed in front of him by the guards which caused him to pray helplessly once again but this time he was not praying for someone to save him or for his death.


    This time he was praying for revenge, he was willing to give up anything and everything to get his revenge.

    At the same time, an asteroid was passing by Earth.

    An asteroid was passing by Earth, but it suddenly changed its trajectory and headed towards Earth. The size of the asteroid was about the size of a small coffee table, small enough that it was not noticed by the scientists on Earth.


    The stones and ice that made up almost all of the asteroids were burned up in the atmosphere due to friction only to reveal a black crystal ball the size of a basketball. Generally, even the strongest asteroid of such a small size would burn up completely in the atmosphere but this black crystal ball didn''t even turn red from the high temperature due to friction.


    Passing through the upper part of the atmosphere, it suddenly accelerated. It was headed towards the Andes Mountain range on the continent of South America.{NOTE- I previously typed North instead of South America} ¡¥\_(¥Ä)_/¡¥

    Kael''s rage only grew greater and greater as he watched the proceedings of the wedding of his girlfriend Sophia and Louise. Unable to do anything to stop the proceedings, he just stayed there as he sobbed silently while praying for Louise to drop dead.


    Just as the TV the scene showed Louise, as he was waiting for his bride at the altar while the guests had already taken their seats, an asteroid came crashing down on Kael, demolishing the roof of the building he was imprisoned in.


    Before guards could react to the asteroid impact, tremors caused by the crash of the asteroid caused an avalanche that resulted in the whole building being covered up in the snow, sealing Kael and guards in an icy coffin.

    Kael woke up from an intolerable pain in his chest, only to find himself in an empty throne room. When he looked down, he saw his chest which had a black crystal ball lodged in, then he slowly remembered about the asteroid that came crashing down.


    ''At last, I can rest in peace now but Sophia would have to suffer because I was not strong enough to protect her, nor was I rich enough to be with her with the blessing of her parents. I wasn''t even able to take care of my family¡­..''


    While he was dwelling on the regrets of his life, he saw a human-like figure appear out of thin air and stand in front of him, he couldn''t really distinguish the silhouette''s face, it seemed blurry, but maybe it was him being dizzy at his death bed and he just couldn''t see right, after all, there was a motherfucking crystal ball lodged in his chest, and he could barely stay conscious.


    "Welcome to my Kingdom, as per your prayer we{1} brought you here, to enable you to take revenge and do much more and trust me when we say much more, it truly means much more" said the man, as he sat on the throne.


    Kael Strider thought that he was hallucinating, after all, how could this be possible? But this man kept talking to him emotionlessly.


    "You are not hallucinating,all of this is real" the man replied in his same emotionless voice, implying that he could read his thoughts.


    "Are you a God?" Kael asked as he looked at the man.


    "No, I am still far from becoming a God but I am still capable of helping you that is if you are willing to pay the price" he replied.


    Due to immense pain in his chest, Kael was unable to reply but he still looked straight at the man, signifying his attention towards this man''s words.


    The man continued, "The price is your humanity and your future. We will grant you unimaginable strength but you have to fulfill our desire¡­"


    "I¡­ I wi¡­ will do anything ¡­. as long as you give strength to kill that bastard and destroy everything he loved" Kael growled slowly while bearing the pain.


    The man smiled as he approached him and extended his hand, suddenly, a blob of crimson red substance with purple lines in it appeared in his hand, he then said "With our blood essence we will to give you a new life as a Chaos Demon, ruling over all as one of our descendent" and touched his chest where the black crystal ball was lodged with his palm, and just like that, Kael''s chest returned to normal.


    He didn''t know how to describe it, but the crystal ball melted and merged with his chest along with the crimson red blob.


    He felt no pain whatsoever throughout the entire process. Only a faint tattoo of the black sun with a face in it could be seen where the black crystal ball was lodged before.


    "We guess you can call it some form of rebirth and, being the generous person that we are, we''ll let you keep your bloodline memory of the Chaos Ancestors. However, nothing is free in this life, as a chaos demon, you must bear some responsibilities as well"


    Kael stood there dazed for a second before looking at the man in front of him in disbelief. "What are you? And what did you do to me?" Kael asked after some time.


    "Hahaha¡­ you finally notice ehh? Good, good I am Adone, the Imperial Chaos Demon" said the man.


    "No need to get anxious, I just said it, I''m Adone the Imperial Chaos Demon, I''m a Chaos Demon from the royal family of Chaos Empire, it''s complicated to explain and as we don''t have all the time in the world so we will let you see for yourself"


    Before Kael could try to comprehend the whole demon thing Adone snapped his fingers and the entirety of the throne was replaced by a similar throne room but this throne room looked clean and majestic while the previous one was dilapidated.


    A man with shoulder-length black hair with red hue on the ends and purple eyes with looks that were better than even the best lady killer, he sat on the throne giving majestic feeling as if he was the ruler of all that land eyes could see, but there was a problem with his looks and the problem was that there were two dark red horns on his head.


    "He is my son," Adone said as he looked at the man on the throne solemnly as he stood beside Kael.

 4 War in Hell

    "He was my only son, Alexander, Emperor of the Chaos Empire" Adone said as he looked at the man on the throne solemnly.


    Only then did Kael notice that the man on the throne was surrounded by a large number of humanoid creatures, some had pitch-black eyes, others had serpent-like tails growing from the back and few were similar to humans but Kael was sure they were not humans at all.


    They were discussing something in a completely different language but Kael was able to understand it clearly after some time that they were ministers of Alexander''s court discussing the military actions of the kingdom.


    "So you can tap into your bloodline memory of the Chaos Ancestors, not bad" Adone complimented before he continued to explain, "Bloodline memory of the Chaos Ancestors is the knowledge that every member of the Chaos demon race passes down to the next generation."


    Alexander, who was silently listening to the reports of ministers while sitting on the throne suddenly stood up and rushed towards Kael Strider, before he could even blink his eyes Alexander passed through his body without any resistance what so ever.


    "What was that?" Kael asked Adone.


    "These are the memories that I have awakened in you so that I can see my people one last time and explain to you, your responsibilities as well" Adone said before snapping his fingers again.


    It felt like he crossed an endless tunnel at a speed very close to that of infinity. He flew past the space filled with nothing but darkness, the light seeping into this space from such a long distance away slammed into him in an instant. After the blinding light dissipated away... Kael was greeted by the immense spectacle laid out before his eyes ¨C no, below him.


    "Oh, my god...." was the only thing he could utter.


    An army consisting solely of innumerable monsters stretched far beyond the scope of vision below him, with a few humanoid monsters supervising. From where he was, to all the way beyond the horizon. Countless monsters completely covered the ground until there was no uncovered patch left.


    In all honesty, that was one hell of a terrifying sight to behold. If only a few of these monsters came to Earth, humanity wouldn''t have a chance in hell at winning against them. Just from seeing this, he felt his innards tighten as if he was having indigestion.


    "Hold on... Where is this place, anyway?" It couldn''t have been Earth. He could see thin, tall, and bizarre-looking rocky outcroppings jutting out from here and there, on these reddish-brown dried up plains where not even a single blade of grass grew. This was a completely foreign landscape that he had never seen before. His eyes could catch the sight of the reddish-brown ground, those strange rock formations, and then, the great army of monsters standing on top of the said ground.


    Kael shifted his gaze over to these monsters. This disparate gathering of monsters of different species was busy looking up and waiting for something to happen.


    "What are they all looking at?" Kael followed after their gazes and raised his head to the sky above. And then... he discovered it.


    "¡­..!!"


    He saw a pure white lake, quietly floating high up in the sky. No, it was not a lake. He mistook it for a lake because of its sheer size, it was a curtain of light. This curtain of light was blocking up the orange sky beyond it.


    "Orange sky is it.....?" Seeing the color of the sky that should not exist, he became doubly sure that this was not Earth anymore. In a world that was not Earth, something major was about to happen between the monsters and that black hole.


    "This is hell and those monsters below are the cannon fodder of armies of various empires in hell with some demon generals supervising them" Adone finally commented while looking at the scene below.


    Kael unconsciously swallowed his saliva upon hearing this. Trapped within this eerie silence, his nervousness also increased as time went on.


    "CRACK!"


    What came out of the curtain of light were soldiers decked out in silver armor, with pure white wings attached to their backs. These silver-armored angels poured out of the curtain of light like agitated bees rushing out of the disturbed beehive.


    "Angels! Are they Angels?" Kael asked the question with an obvious answer.


    Adone nodded as he silently watched the war below.


    While monsters covered the entirety of the ground, these angels in turn utterly blotted out the sky. It was truly a spectacular sight. Kale couldn''t stop admiring this incredible view.


    The monsters, however, thought rather differently. They began howling at the top of their lungs upon seeing the silver-armored angels covering the sky and began bucking around in agitation. He didn''t even have to be a genius to figure out what would happen next.


    It was a war.


    "Swahhh-!!" The flying angels became silver drops of light and descended to the ground below.


    As it turned out, there was more than one curtain of light in the sky.


    There were several of them, and angels poured out of them one after the other. Monsters on the ground versus the angels in the sky!! The two groups, clearly burning with hostile intentions against each other, soon collided just above the ground.


    A battle of indescribable scale and proportion unfolded next.


    "ROAR¡­!"


    The beastly roars of the monsters shook the land below.

    Horns being blown away by the silver-armored angels thunderously resounded out. Weapons collided with other weapons, the sounds of armors shattering noisily rang out.


    The beastly roars soon morphed into screams and pained groans. The ground below was steadily being dyed the color of blood.


    The superiority in this battle was established very quickly. The silver-armored angels were very powerful.


    These guys easily sliced off the necks of the monsters that were strong enough to rip high-ranked Hunters apart with their bare hands.     The war began as a fierce clash between the two forces, but has now descended into a blood-soaked massacre, instead. The swords and spears of the silver angels knew no mercy. Because of that, the number of monsters decreased quite rapidly.


    Kael watched this scene of the horrifying monsters being killed off with little to no resistance and was overcome with a puzzling mixture of emotions.


    ''Am I mourning all those angels who lost their lives to these monsters, or am I feeling rueful for monsters being massacred just like that....?'' Such trivial thoughts remained in his head for only a short while.


    The truly extraordinary event only happened afterward, with the complete annihilation of the monsters mere moments away...


    The silver angels of the sky that violently pushed their enemies back suddenly stopped moving one at once.


    "What''s going on? Could they possibly have developed a sense of pity for these monsters now, of all times? But there was just no way. If they do, then they shouldn''t be gripping their weapons even tighter like that."


    They were gripping their weapons so hard, in fact, their hands were beginning to tremble noticeably, too. On top of that, the emotions filling up the faces of these silver angels were as far from the ones of compassion as you could get. No, they were filled with terror.


    Their collective gazes were focused in a certain direction. And that was somewhere behind him.Kael suddenly had a hunch. He felt that something extraordinary was about to happen behind him, one amazing enough to overturn this situation on its head.


    However, his gaze didn''t immediately look behind him, but instead, to the ground below. On top of this reddish-brown land, a black mist was spreading out.


    This mist rapidly spread beyond the blood dyeing the land red, as well as the mountains of corpses.


    "Ah...!"


    "Ah¡­ Ahh¡­!"


    ¡­..


    As the mist sped past underneath these corpses, mysterious screams could be heard. Screams that no one could tell where they were coming from.


    A powerful chill ran down Kael''s spine immediately. He slowly, agonizingly slowly, turned his head around to take a look. There he found an impressive knight covered in jet-black armor from his head right down to his toes.


    From this knight, and the horse he was riding on, the black ghostly strands of energy continuously rose up. Kael could think of only one person when looking at that black knight.


    "Alexander," he muttered unconsciously.


    Whether it was the silver-armored angels from the sky, monsters below, they all forgot to breathe and simply stared at this Emperor of Chaos Empire.


    Every single gaze within this battlefield was now looking at only this black knight.


    The Emperor glared at the Angels in the sky, before extending his hand out as if he wanted to grasp something.


    Kael could see the sight of the silver-armored angels wince as they started to back away in fear. The intolerable stillness that stifled one''s breaths pressed down on the shoulders of every single being under the heavens.


    And soon... The Emperor''s solemn voice shattered that stillness.


    "Devour"

 5 Truly Horrifying Warfare

    "Devour"


    The ripple generated from this word spread out at a frightening speed and roused up the mist.


    The battlefield dyed in the colors of monsters'' blood roiled and tumbled in black waves.


    "Ahh¡­.!"


    "Ahhh¡­.!"


    ...


    The injured monsters and angels on the ground surrounded by the black mist roared out in what could have been screams of horror and anguish. They then turned into dry corpses like husks before turning into ashes.

    The Emperor bellowed heavily towards the skies. That powerful roar didn''t attack the eardrums of the listeners but directly shook their hearts, instead. Hearts, legs, and even the ground shook from his roar. The land began crying in its response.


    Kael didn''t need a lot of time to figure out what that roar was meant for. Because¡­ the black mist rose up high and surrounded the angels.


    Just that single roar alone and the black mist transformed this battlefield completely. From this corner of the land, all the way to the other side ¨C the dead angel husks instantly starting to fall from the sky.


    Kael had been quietly observing the process while holding his breath. A powerful shudder ran through his entire body from the combined roars of the angels.


    If this scene was supposed to demonstrate the true pinnacle of the Chaos Demons, then it certainly succeeded in letting him know just how much power they held in their grasps.


    Eventually, the angels in the other parts of the sky stopped hesitating and began moving again. They gathered into one large mass, and, like a gigantic swarm of bees, descended on the black mist surrounding Alexander.


    However, it was all in vain. The angel army and the black mist got tangled up on top of this expansive land. Explosions rang out constantly, and the ground quaked over and over again. The battle that should have ended as a one-sided massacre reverted to full-on warfare.


    Just the entrance of a single individual had changed everything. Now, this was a display of truly shocking power.


    Kael didn''t know why this scene was being shown to him, but he found himself unable to tear his eyes away from it.


    The violent, fierce and suicidal clash continued. A desperate and bloody engagement, incomparably fiercer and more violent than the first battle that took place, unfolded before his eyes but the angels were unable to cross the black mist.


    "Oh, well, the truly terrifying thing about this black mist is the fact that it helps us Chaos Demons to devour anything in this world and convert it into power that strengthens us, that''s why no matter how many angels do kamikaze attacks, it''s all strengthening their opponent, Alexander" Adone explained.


    Kael tore his eyes away from these angels and took an overview of the entire battlefield and its situation. The battle taking place between the angels in the sky endlessly pouring out from the curtains to light in the air, and the black mist expanding under the orders of the Alexander, was incredibly even.


    As the black mist expanded and more angels poured out of the curtains to light to match the number of the dead.


    ''So is this what a war in hell looks like?''


    Horrifying warfare that a human''s intuition couldn''t even properly tell what would happen next breathlessly continued in this vast land. However, the balance between these two opposing sides broke in a single instant. The flow of the war shifted very quickly when Alexander stopped using black mist from far back and personally stepped forward to enter the fray with his demonic army clad in black armor.
