Chapter 161: Last day of the Race War Event

The next morning, Lein woke up feeling refreshed. Although he hadn''t found anything extremely valuable from the epic chests he opened the night before, he had still gained dozens of pure artifacts, each with unique abilities.

    "Uahh..."

Lein yawned, his body stretching along with his deep breath. The muscles in his strong arms tensed, revealing his hidden strength. After a moment of gathering himself, he stepped down from his bed.

With light steps, he walked toward the bedside table. His gaze met the reflection of a refreshed young man in therge mirror. His ck hair was still messy, but his eyes radiated vitality. Lein now looked vastly different from when he first entered the Divine Sky Realm.

Back then, his face resembled that of a man in his 30s, burdened by the pressures of life and work. But now, he appeared more like a young man in his early 20s, full of spirit and unburdened.

"Seems like the stories in those novels are true," he murmured with a faint smile, his eyes fixed on his handsome reflection in the mirror.

Lein recalled his high school days when he loved reading novels and fiction. Almost every story depicted the same thing—the higher the cultivation level, the stronger the body, and one''s appearance could be maintained at its peak.

"Tomorrow is thest day of the inter-racial war event," he muttered, remembering Elder Wan''s words.

His thoughts kept circling around Aetheris, the realm where they currently resided. From Elder Wan''s stories, Lein concluded that the creatures living outside Aetheris were much stronger and more terrifying.

"Aetheris..." Lein whispered softly, lost in thought.

But after a few seconds, he shook his head, trying not to dwell on it. He had done his best so far. In fact, he had reached the maximum level achievable, level 50, a feat that only he and Nita had managed to aplish.

Leaving his reflection in the mirror, Lein turned toward another door in his room—the door to the bathroom. He felt a fresh breeze wafting from inside as the door opened, weing him.

Inside, he turned on the faucet, and the sound of water started filling the room. The water fell gently, creating a serene flow as it hit the marble floor. Each drop sounded calming, like a morning symphony of nature. Lein extended his hand, feeling the cool water running over his skin.

The sound of water rippling as it touched his body made the atmosphere more peaceful, erasing any lingering worries in his mind.

After a few minutes, Lein exited the bathroom, drying himself with a soft, thick towel. He walked toward the wardrobe and picked up a casual blue shirt, a usual choice for his daily wear. The fabric wasfortable, simple, yet still gave a neat impression. He put it on with calm movements, tightened the belt at his waist, and adjusted the cor.

Feeling refreshed and ready to start the day, Lein walked toward his room door. The cold handle touched his fingers as he opened it, and the light from the corridor greeted him. He stepped out, passing through the sturdy, elegant walls, heading toward the stairs that would lead him to the lower floor, where breakfast was already prepared.

As he descended the stairs, the aroma of food filled the air, tempting his appetite. asionally, the soft sound of Lein''s footsteps echoed on the perfectly polished wooden floor. Therge dining room downstairs awaited, with a long table filled with various dishes, radiating the warmth of the morning.

    "Hello, big brother...e eat!"

Nita''s cheerful voice rang out energetically. She looked busy helping the staff tidy up the table alreadyden with various kinds of food. Her face beamed, reflecting her joy as she weed Lein.

"Good morning. What''s on the menu today?" Lein asked as he approached the table and examined the avable dishes. There, he saw vegetable soup, sour vegetable soup, chicken curry, and several fish-based side dishes.

"Try everything, brother! There''s beef empal, curry, and vegetables. I picked all the main ingredients myself," Nita said enthusiastically, her voice full of energy. She seemed ready with answers for every question Lein had, exining all the dishes in detail, as if wanting to make sure that Lein knew how serious she was about preparing the food.

"And here, try my homemade sushi," Nita offered a small te with four pieces of rice topped with slices of red fish. A broad smile spread across her face as she watched Lein with hopeful eyes, waiting for his reaction.

Lein examined the sushi with curiosity. "Wow... impressive, thanks, Nita," he said, taking a piece and trying it. The taste was soft in his mouth, almost like authentic sushi. "It tastes good, almost like the real thing. Though, it''s a bit salty," he added gently, offering praise with a small suggestion.

Hearing Lein''spliment, Nita''s face lit up even more. "Really? Thank you, brother!" she replied joyfully. She then tasted one of her own sushi pieces, smiling contentedly even though she also noted the slight saltiness Lein mentioned.

"Hmm, yes, a little salty, but I like it," Nita said with a wide smile.

With that, the two of them began enjoying their breakfast, the rxed morning atmosphere making their conversation flow easily. They talked about simple things—the city''s development, Lein''s ns for the day, and Nita''s stories about trying new recipes. Between bites, theirughter asionally filled the room.

"So, what''s on your agenda today, brother?" Nita asked while sipping her vegetable soup.

"I''ll be checking on some more facilities and preparing myself for further preparations after the inter-racial war event ends," Lein answered, chewing slowly, savoring the delicious taste of the chicken curry.

They continued chatting warmly, enjoying a simple yet close-knit breakfast. The sounds of clinking tes and spoons mingled with lightughter, creating a peaceful moment amidst their daily busyness.

While Lein and Nita enjoyed their breakfast, the city outside was already bustling with its usual morning rhythm. The city streets were filled with high-tech vehicles moving in orderly lines under the watchful eye of an automated system.

Construction machines were already operating, their hum blending with theughter and conversations of workers starting their day.

At the Teleportation Hub area, the teleportation portals pulsed gently, channeling hundreds of people from various regions into the city. Children headed to school in low-hovering buses, cutting through the fresh morning air. This was the morning routine on Lein''s ind—a busy, modern, and always active ce.

In the distance, a towering building with 100 floors loomed, reflecting the morning sunlight. At the top of the building, a golden star emblem shone brightly, symbolizing authority and grandeur.

At the entrance of this majestic building, people with unique traits moved in and out. Some had muscr bodies withrge weapons strapped to their backs, while others appeared ordinary but with sharp eyes hinting at their battle experience. This was the headquarters of the Star Guild, one of thergest hunter guilds in the City of Life.

The Star Guild was known not only for its vastwork but also for its immense wealth amassed from various missions and contracts it managed. As a hunter guild, the Star Guild epted all kinds of missions, from individuals to organizations, rewarding hunters with energy crystals, money, or even rare artifacts.

Inside the Star Guild''s main hall, the atmosphere was no less busy. Large blue holographic screens disying mission lists and other information hovered in the air, while hunters of various levels and backgrounds essed them to find missions suitable to their abilities.

A young man stood in front of one of the screens, his hands moving swiftly as he scrolled through the mission list. His hair was covered by a brown headband, and a long sword hung at his waist, gleaming with a worn handle—a sign that the weapon had seen many battles.

"Hmph... why are the missions getting hardertely?" the young man grumbled, his voice filled with frustration. His dark eyes squinted as he continued scrolling through the mission list on the holographic screen.

"Hahh… a beginner like me doesn''t stand a chance," he muttered again, his face looking dejected.

He was only a level 1 hunter, and almost all the missions on the list seemed too difficult for him. Without enthusiasm, the young man turned his gaze to another holographic screen disying a list of teams currently recruiting members.

Initially uninterested, the young man scrolled through the listzily. However, after a while, his attention was drawn to a line that made his heart race. The sentence was simple but full of hope: "Looking for someone to form a team, any job. Equal reward distribution."

His previously gloomy face brightened with energy. "Yes! This is my chance!" he shouted inwardly. Without hesitation, he touched the holographic screen and quickly typed a short message to the team creator, expressing his willingness to join.

"In a few days, I''ll definitely

level up!" he muttered, his eyes burning with renewed determination.
