<h4>Chapter 140: The return</h4>

    That brings a total tally of 4 pat-rons. I am happy that ourmunity is flouring.

    Suddenly the noises from the crowd slowed down and it was silent again. The Referee/Commentator said "Now, since we don''t know the state of Shedinja in the first round, we are unable to determine the winner. So, the challenger is requested to call out Shedinja. If the Shedinja had fainted, then the winner of this gym battle would be the gym leader herself."


    Everyone had the same thought. Except for the 2 people; one from the league and other was Ang, no one had properly seen the state of Shedinja due to the dust and smoke when Exeggutor sted it off with ''Sr beam''. But everyone knew that Renee had won this gym battle.


    Shedinja was a weak Pokemon. It did have ''Wonder guard'' ability but it would take ages for anyone to master this ability. So, in the earlier stages, any attack could K.O it. It had the lowest Hp and seeing Exeggutor st it off with ''Sr beam'', nobody had any hope. Its HP was so low that, it had a risk of dying in the Pokemon trainer battle. Supper-damaging moves like ''Hyper beam'' could even kill Shedinja. Even Renee had silently told Exeggutor to hold off a bit when using the ''Sr beam''. She didn''t want to kill the poor guy.


    So, even if Shedinja was alive and had not fainted, everyone had assumed that it was on itsst legs. Besides, nobody could figure out why a genius trainer like Axel would use a Pokemon like Shedinja.

    In the stadium,


    "I guess the thrill is over. The battle is over. There is no way the Shedinja could win even if it is alive and had not fainted." Said someone from the league.


    "Yes, but what I do not understand is, why would a trainer like Axel use such a Pokemon? I don''t think I have seen any trainer use Shedinja in a gym battle in all my life" said another person from the league.


    The general thinking of Shedinja was like that. None of them thought that it had good potential. But today, Axel was going to prove every one of them wrong.

    Axel was lost in the same thought when Teena said,


    "Challenger Axel ze is again requested to show the state of Shedinja. There won''t be a second reminder" with a stern voice.


    Axel nodded his head and then threw the master ball.


    "Let''s show them Marcus what we are made off"


    A light-brow Pokemon appeared but its abdomen was gray. It had 4 protrusions on its underside instead of legs; the top pair is brown while the lower was gray. It was Shedinja.


    "Shed.. Shed.. Shedinja...."


    "What??? how is this possible?" said Renee with wide eyes. Everyone in the crowd was also shocked. Renee had seen Shedinja being hit by ''Sr beam'' but she had not seen the aftermath. So, she was confident that Shedinja would be in itsst legs in the best-case scenario. But here, she could see that the Pokemon didn''t even have any scratch on itself.

    In the stadium,


    "How is Shedinja in full health?" shouted Adam


    "Didn''t I tell you that Axel might give us another surprise?" said Ang with a smile.


    "Did you know about this?" asked Adam.


    "No, I didn''t but I knew something was going on. What I did know was, Axel didn''t change his Pokemon, it was actually done by Shedinja itself" said Ang.


    "What do you mean?"


    "I believe that Shedinja had used ''Ally switch''. If it was able to use aplicated physic move like ''Ally switch'', then I had a hunch that it would not be in itsst legs. It looks like my hunch was correct"


    "But how is this possible? I saw Shedinja got hit by ''Sr beam''?"


    "And I saw it too" replied Ang.


    "Besides, how could Shedinja use a physic-type move like ''Ally switch'' in the first ce?" asked Adam.


    "I had no idea, Adam" said Ang.


    She literally didn''t have any idea. She was confident that Shedinja switched itself and besides ''Ally Switch'' nothing came to her mind that could do so. But Shedinja does not learn ''Ally switch''. And how was it in full health when it was hit by ''Sr beam''? Everything was confusing. Though the crazies had the knowledge of Shedinja''s special power, Adam and Ang didn''t.


    "I look like I would have to ask that kid some serious questions after this battle," said Adam


    "Don''t. Everyone has their secrets and Axel has his. We should respect it and not pry into it. I don''t want to lose a genius like Axel. Thest thing I want to hear is ''Venu family doesn''t treat outsiders very well" she said.


    The 3 starter families were always in rivalry. The rise of Venu family was mainly due to Axel and Ang knew that they could do anything to jeopardize this rtionship between Axel and Venu family. So, she didn''t want them to give any chance.

    This was the master n of Axel. His trump card was Shedinja all along. Normally a Shedinja was not immune to most of the typings until it masters its ability ''Wonder guard'' but Axel''s Shedinja didn''t have any of that problem. This was also pointed out by Oak and Blue. So, at the start of the battle, he started out with Shedinja with a lot of acting on his and Shedinja''s side. When Shedinja was hit by confusion, Axel was worried cause though psychic moves don''t do any damage to Shedinja, status move like ''Confusion'' does. But it went well when Exeggutor used ''Sr beam''.


    Shedinja took that ''Sr beam'' taking no damage and then used ''Ally switch'' making others think that it was already down. This n had worked because Axel could feel that Renee was taking it easy when she called out Venusaur. Cause in her mind, Beedrill was on itsst legs and she was going to win the gym battle.


    How very wrong she was...
