Chapter 377: The Qin is not broken_1
Bran Cook had studied piano for several years and, although he hadn’t achieved much depth of proficiency, he knew a thing or two.
From the moment Julius Reed pressed the ck and white keys, he knew he had been duped!
This wasn’t about making a fool of himself, it was clearly a show of prowess!
Although the others were shocked as well, they were quickly captivated by the piece and becamepletely immersed in the piano music.
When the sunlight faded, darkness descended!
A fierce cold wind swept across the vastnd, followed by a storm that ravaged all the beauty before them!
And in the sky, countless dragons descended from the heavens, their mes devouring everything!
At that moment, the piano music came to an abrupt halt.
Fear was written on everyone’s faces, and sweat beaded on their foreheads.
It wasn’t until the piano fell silent for a good half minute that people began toe back to their senses.<div>
“My goodness, that scared me to death!”
“That’s it? I was left wanting more!”
“Dude, you’re more kickass than a piano master! What’s the name of that piece? I’ve listened to all the ssics from ancient to modern times, but I’ve never heard this one!”
“It’s so majestic, it’s terrifying!”
After recovering, everyone’s gaze towards Julius Reed changed.
It was no longer filled with disdain or condescension; instead, it was a mix of admiration and disbelief.
“Handsome, what’s your name? Amos Davenport, is it? My name is Shane Yarrow, and here’s my WeChat.”
A woman walked straight over, sat on Julius Reed’sp, and shook her phone: “If you’re up for it, I’m yours for the night.”
She threw a sultry look and lightly licked her red lips with her tongue.
“Sorry, I already have someone I like.”
Julius Reed said with a smile as he declined.
“Yeah, right, men always say one thing and mean another. You’ll miss out if you pass up this chance, you know. So many guys are trying their hardest to get me into bed, and I’m not usually interested!” Shane Yarrow tossed her hair, full of allure.
The men nearby were all looking on with anger, reeking of jealousy.
Shane Yarrow was quite well-known in Gonzalez City, beautiful and with a good family background; she was the object of many men’s pursuits.
Now that Julius Reed had rejected her like this, many of the men wanted to beat him up.
“I’m so sorry, but I’m used to being faithful,” Julius Reed firmly rejected, with Que Radcliffe right in front of him. If he added Shane on WeChat, the rtionship he had slowly cultivated might very well be ruined.
He stole a nce and saw Que Radcliffe watching him with a smile on her face.
A woman’s smile, how false!
It hides a knife!<div>
And it’s a dragon-ying knife at that!
“Would you like toe to my house and be a piano teacher?” That’s when a woman in red approached, and upon her arrival, Shane Yarrow hurriedly moved away.
“Itai Huntington… when did shee back?”
“We haven’t seen her for half a year; how would I know! She wasn’t at the banquet earlier either…”<div>
When Itai Huntington made an appearance, everyone consciously stepped aside, even Que Radcliffe’s expression changed momentarily.
“Sister Huntington, when did you get here?” Bran Cook, abandoning his previous air of superiority, walked over with a smile to greet her.
It was obvious that Itai Huntington’s appearance had caught everyone off guard.
“I returned from the capital this afternoon. After being away and having my fun for half a year, it’s time toe back for a rest. I heard you were holding a reception here, and Sister Huntington loves a lively scene, so she came uninvited. Hope I’m not disturbing you all?”
Itai Huntington, dressed in a red cheongsam with short, curled hair, leaned against the piano with a cigarette in hand, exuding elegance and grace.
“Sister, that’s no way to speak! Had I known you were back, I would have sent someone to the airport to bring you here earlier. This reception would seemckluster without you!” Bran Cook’s face beamed with a smile, his ttery knowing no bounds.
“Young man, you still haven’t answered my question.”
Ignoring Bran Cook, Itai Huntington turned to face Julius Reed, gently blew smoke in his face, and then whispered in his ear, “Promise me, will you?”
“Amos Davenport, Sister Huntington is speaking to you! Don’t y dumb here! Answer her now!”
Bran Cook stiffened his face, looking at Julius Reed, “Sister Huntington is giving you great honor, don’t be ungrateful!”
“Sorry, but back when I was in school, the thing I hated most was teachers, and now you want me to be a teacher, I’m notfortable with it, am I? Besides, someone of your status could easily invite a master, so count me out.”
Julius Reed chuckled, easily sidestepped Itai Huntington, and stood up from his chair.
“You really are ungrateful! Do you even know who Sister Huntington is…”<div>
“Never mind, I don’t like to force others.” Itai Huntington lifted her head and gave Julius Reed a wistful look, “I’m really a bit disappointed.”
“You don’t know Bran Cook’s prowess yet. Just now, he sat here and yed a piece that was absolutely breathtaking! Now that the piano is fixed, why not have Bran Cook y aplete piece for you to see?”
Julius Reed gave Itai Huntington a cheery look while gesturing “please” to Bran Cook.
Bran Cook’s face instantly turned an ashen hue, for although he could y, he could merely y—the sounds he produced even he couldn’t bear to listen to.
This was clearly meant to embarrass him!
Itai Huntington was also surprised, for she knew Bran Cook to some extent. The Cook Family’s young master was indeed talented, but she wasn’t aware he could y the piano.
Could it be that he had learned during thisst year in the capital?
“I should pass, I’ve already yed…”
“Bran Cook, you were interrupted in the middle of your performance, but everybody heard it, and it was truly of a master’s level! It was a pity the piano broke and spoiled the mood. Now that the piano is fixed, why not perform aplete piece?”
At that, Julius Reed pped his forehead, “Oh, right, you were about to confess to thisdy, weren’t you? This is the perfect opportunity—you can’t miss it.”
He nced at Que Radcliffe with a slight smile on his lips.
“Bran Cook ys very well; I quite enjoy it. It’s just a shame it was only half a piece…” Que Radcliffe, contrary to her usual demeanor, actually took the initiative to show sympathy toward Bran Cook.
This once again put Bran Cook in an awkward position.<div>
He wanted his men to hook up the sound system and continue the charade, but not too far off, his men were disying the broken audio plugs.
When Julius Reed had unplugged it, he crushed the plug with his foot…
“Sister Huntington, if Bran Cook can y a piece, maybe I…”
Julius Reed looked shifty, as if hesitating to continue.
“Bran Cook, everyone heard you y the piano just now. Sister camete and didn’t hear it. Now, you decide, if you feel Sister isn’t worthy of your performance, then forget it.”
Itai Huntington extinguished her cigarette and, with her arms crossed, turned to look at Bran Cook.
“Sister Huntington, you jest. Since you insist on listening, I shall, albeit embarrassingly.”
Bran Cook’s face flushed with embarrassment, his gaze toward Julius Reed filled with murderous intent!
It’s not just embarrassing—it’s downright humiliating!
Dang! Dang! Dang!
“The piano isn’t broken now.”
Julius Reed pressed the keys thrice, his face mocking as he looked at Bran Cook.
