    I leaned back in my chair, a groan escaping my lips as the pain in my stomach grew in intensity. It felt like an open wound, aching with a pulsing rhythm.     After four rings, Healer Kwan picked up the call.

    Another wave of pain and I squeezed my eyes shut, inhaling deep breaths to bear it all. I wished I could close my ears too because the sounds of their soft moans and subtleughter was starting to grate on my nerves.
