    Sanford smiled as he took a few sips from the ss in Maggie’s hand.


    After he’d quenched his thirst, Maggie gently wiped his mouth with a tissue.


    Her eyes remained red and swollen from her previous bout of crying.

    Maggie discarded the tissue, nodded and confirmed, “I was terrified.”
