He was fully dressed, hands resting casually on his knees, but the shadows that yed across his face gave him an unsettling air.


    Seeing Matthew, memories of the previous night flooded Ste’s mind, each moment sharp and vivid.


    Her tears, breathless gasps, and bold moves reyed in her mind, each scene unfolding with striking rity.


    Her heart raced, and she murmured, “Was it truly not just a dream?”


    As she spoke, those heart-pounding images surged back into her mind, overwhelming her with vivid recollections.


    She could even recall initiating it clearly.


    In a rush of embarrassment, Ste quickly lowered her head, almost burying it in the quilt.


    She took several deep breaths, willing herself to calm down and steady her racing heart.


    After a moment, she attempted a casual smile and asked, “Don’t you have work today?”


    Matthew stood up, his face unreadable, and walked over to the bedside, peering down at Ste.


    Ste froze, sensing the heavy tension in the air; Matthew was clearly in a bad mood.


    In a low, measured voice, Matthew said, “I need to ask you something.”


    With that, he tossed a document onto the bed, the papers fluttering slightly as theynded.


    Ste nced at the bold text on the document, her face draining of color.


    “Divorce Agreement.” Before she could process it, she felt utterly stunned, a wave of indescribable heartache crashing over her.


    Was Matthew truly nning to divorce her? The thought sent a fresh wave of disbelief coursing through her.


    He had even gone so far as to prepare the divorce agreement.


    The realization twisted in her chest like a knife.


    She fought back her tears and quickly picked up the document, examining it closely as her heart raced with dread.


    However, as she read the contents and noticed the date, a sense of calm began to wash over her.novelbin


    This hadn’t been prepared by Matthew; it was something she had drafted in the past.


    A rush of embarrassment washed over Ste as she realized her mistake.


    Matthew ignored her shifting emotions, his voice rising slightly, edged with coldness as he asked, “You wanted a divorce back then and even prepared the agreement before I did.


    So why did you stay afterward?”


    Recalling the origins of the divorce agreement, Ste frowned slightly, the memories stirring a mix of regret and confusion.


    Back then, her rtionship with Maverick had grown strained, and in a fit of anger, she had prepared the divorce agreement and signed her name, nning to mail it to him.


    But due to various dys, and after resolving her conflicts with Matthew-realizing that Maverick was, in fact, Matthew-they had opened up to each other, leading her to toss the agreement aside.


    She had no idea how Matthew had found it again.


    Ste looked up at him, instinctively wanting to exin.


    “It’s not like that, I.”


    However, Matthew didn’t give her a chance to exin.


    He asked with disdain, “Ste, did you stay because you were after my status and wealth? And who is that man entangled with you?”


    Ste was visibly shaken, her expression one of bewilderment.


    “What man? I’m not involved with any man.”
