Upon hearing Andrew''s words, Sara nearly copsed. "Andrew rk!"
Sara couldn''t believe Andrew would trade her to save his own skin when their lives were on the line.
Andrew looked at Sara and said in resignation. "Stop worrying about your chastity, Sara. If staying alive means you have to go with him, I''d even go with him myself if he liked men. "It''s just sex. Let him do whatever. Nothing is more important than staying alive."
Sara was initially bbergasted by Andrew''s words, but after thinking it over, she realized he had a point.
Nothing would beat being alive. Spending a night with him didn''t seem like a big deal now. A shower would take care of everything, and it didn''t even make a difference.
Sara epted the situation. She walked past Andrew and approached Matthew on her own ord. "Please spare us. I''m willing to do anything you ask."
Matthew was utterly shocked. He didn''t expect Sara to flip like that out of nowhere.
When she stopped in front of him, he lifted her chin. "I don''t like it when people throw themselves at me. You shouldn''t have kept causing me trouble or threatening Wealthwave Group." As Matthew spoke, he raised his saber with his other hand.
Sara trembled with fear. "I don''t want to die. What will it take for you not to kill me? Just tell me what you need."
Andrew grew anxious. "Don''t kill Sara. I have a secret, and I''m willing to trade it for our lives. Trust me, it''s worth more than our lives."
With his sword against Sara''s chest, Matthew demanded, "Just get on with it."
Andrew hurriedly exined, "I was serious about working with the miracle doctor to develop a medicine that can extend life by ten years. It''s legit because someone uses the traditional medicine form from our country toe up with a medicine that extends lifespan by 30 years.
"However, the medicine has side effects, so it''s still in the
??? ???
experimental stage. They say the problem lies with the medicine form. Thus, many countriese to Lambda to find the miracle doctor and obtain the real medicine form that can grant immortality.
"Some people even suspect that the real immortality medicine form can make the telomere in our cells keep renewing forever. The healthy cells will have the potential to be indestructible and continuously grow forever, like cancer cells. Thus, ith give us a shot to have eternal life."
Matthew was shocked to hear this. He knew that when the cancer cells were discovered, research on them started immediately. There were two approaches to cancer research. It started with killing the cancer cells to cure cancer, but it was just not feasible.
But it wasn''t totally ineffective. If the cancer cells hadn''t spread yet, the doctors could remove them.
Still, it wasn''t exactly curing the cancer. The approach isted the cancer cells from the body. Even so, some patients didn''t live long. When the cancer cells started spreading, there was no way to fix it. All the treatments often gave the patients a glimmer of hope, and they would just cash on it. Making it out alive was just wishful thinking.
The second approach was to study the cancer cells and find ways to make healthy cells adopt their traits to help us live longer.
Only the lunatics tried this path. Nobody thought it could work. But unexpectedly, it did, and the sess of it came down to traditional medicine.
Matthew started to wonder if Nichs told him to collect the books from the eight medical sects for this purpose.
Matthew cleared his mind of the thoughts and moved his gaze between Sara and Andrew. He spared them just to avoid causing trouble for Wealthwave Group and to give Rachel fewer things to worry about.
The information was a pleasant surprise, but he wasn''tfortable letting them off the hook like that. "Here''s the deal. I''ll let Andrew go, but you have to stay behind. Deal?"
Matthew made his offer to Sara. He figured that if he let them both go, the rk family might stir up more trouble. Leaving one behind would make them think twice before causing him trouble.
