Chapter 522

Das spoke, putting pressure on Matthew. With every step he took, his presence grew more and more intimidating.

Standing at the side, Sebastian noticed Matthew kept backing away. He felt his heart jump up to his throat. If Matthew were to die here, he could forget about rescuing Theo since he''d die here as well.

Seeing that Sebastian and Matthew weren''t leaving, Cassidy grew even more anxious and urged. "Why are you still standing there? He''s going to kill you for real. You both are going to die."

Cassidy seemed to recall something horrible and burst into tears. Her voice was filled with fear. Matthew took another step back. His eyes grew sharper as he fixed his gaze on Das.

Das took a deep breath before yelling, "I''m going to take you down with one hit today!"

Upon finishing his words, Das inched closer. Matthew backed into the wall with no more room to move.

A cold gleam shed in Das'' eyes as he roared, "Tempest Draw!"

As the words left his mouth, Das'' muscles tensed up at once. He unleashed his full strength, and his hand darted quickly to the handle.

Suddenly, he felt his hand shake as he grabbed the hilt. Then, his right hand moved through the usual motion and formed a fist.

Where was the de? Das'' hand came to a familiar spot, but his hand grasped nothing. Looking down, he realized it was empty. The de was gone.

With a bang, the sound of a de hitting the wall rang out behind him, followed by a tter as the Apex de fell to the floor. Das was bbergasted, gaping at Matthew with disbelief.

Shocked by the fluttering of Matthew''s right pant leg, Das eximed, "How did you move your leg so quickly?"

Next to them, Sebastian breathed a sigh of relief as soon as Matthew won. Then, he hurried over to the bed to untie Theo.

Matthew ignored Das'' question and indifferently remarked, "Did you shout ''Tempest Draw''? Draw your de then."

Draw his de? Das felt utterly embarrassed. He had lost his de, so how would he draw it? It was nothing short of an insult.

Still, Das couldn''t wrap his head around how Matthew was so fast. "How did you defeat my Tempest Draw? That''s impossible. Tempest Draw is the fastest technique in warriorbat. How could you possibly be faster than that?"

Matthew scoffed. "In battle since ancient times, you always have your weapon ready. As you keep your weapon sheathed, you''re simply asking for a defeat. TempestDraw? That''s amateur."  en

Amateur? Das had spent 30 years perfecting Tempest Draw, and it was being called amateur. He felt his pride being stung, but he couldn''t find any reason to dispute it

Das'' face flushed with anger and shame. Gritting his teeth, he assumed a

boxing stance with one hand in front and the other behind.

"Even without my de, I can still fight with my fists-"

    Matthew suddenly shouted. "Fuck off!"

With one swift motion, Matthew raised his right leg over Das and brought it

down hard. The sole of his foot came down hard on Das'' face.

With his vision gone dark, Das dropped to the floor. When he opened his eyes

again, he saw Matthew walking over with the Apex de.

Das was scared out of his wits. "What are you trying to do?"

The long, narrow de was unsheathed with a swish. Its gleaming edge reflected a chilling glow.

Matthew jammed the tip of the de into Das'' arm and snapped, "How many people from the Red Wolves are still in this hospital? How many hideouts are there in Lambda City?"

Das'' face twisted in pain. He clenched his jaw and replied, "Do you know who I am? Do you know what I stand for?"

Matthew perked up. He''d always wanted to learn more about the Red Wolves, and this was his chance. "Who are you?"

Das gritted his teeth through the pain and responded, "People call me Das. Wood is myst name."

The Wood family? Matthew yanked out the Apex de, and blood spilled from the de. He hated traitors more than anything.

    "I can''t believe you''re not an Eastorian."

Das cried out in pain and snapped, "I''m an Eastorian, but looking back at my

family tree, I''m connected to the Wood family in 1644.

"Right now, one of the Woods holds great authority andmands a big army. If you eveny a finger on me, he''ll take out your whole family."
