It was as if Castiel had never known Niamh at all.

    Niamh''s right arm was still hurting. She quicklyposed herself and said, "The person least qualified to ask me that question is you and anyone from the Jamison family." Why had she changed so much?


    No one knew what she had been through. She wouldn''t have be the person she was without having experienced extreme pain, suffering, and despair.


    She thought of her previous life where she had perished in the fire, and of Macy showing up to provoke her. To hell with being the gentle and sensible person everyone thought she was!


    "What are you doing? Let go of me!" shemanded as Castiel dragged her out of the room. Niamh struggled, but with her right arm in so much pain, she didn''t have the strength to break free. Castiel seemed deaf to her protests. He was absolutely disappointed in her. He found her transformation unbearable. She had be an unreasonable, unfeeling, and disloyal wife to him. All of that was uneptable to Castiel.


    A loud smack rang out!


    As they reached the car, Niamh pped Castiel hard across the face.


    Castiel turned his head toward her. The eyes that had once held only warmth for her were now devoid of any affection.


    Just as he was about to shove her into the car, his phone rang from his suit pocket. With one hand holding Niamh down, he answered the call with the other. "Speak."


    "Castiel, when are youing to the hospital? Macy is in Mom''s hospital room."


    Upon hearing that Macy was in Renee''s hospital room, Castiel''s gaze toward Niamh grew event colder.


    Niamh''s lips curled into a mocking smile.


    The smile got on Castiel''s nerves. "Send her back to her own room."


    "She''s being stubborn and won''t leave. She tried toe to Mom''s room and got caught in the elevator doors. She even fell out of her wheelchair and scraped her knees." Castiel let go of Niamh, "I''ll be there right away."


    The moment she was free, Niamh turned and started walking back into the vi. "I''ll be moving out of here tomorrow."


    Castiel snapped, "You wouldn''t dare!"


    Niamh nced back at him, still smiling. Her silent defiance spoke volumes of her resolution and conviction to be rid of him. Chapter 31


    As she turned away again, Castiel called out, "Don''t forget you''re still my wife."


    "Not for much longer," Niamh replied while continuing her way inside.


    Castiel stood rooted to the spot as he watched her small figure retreat. How could someone so small in stature have the strength to fight everyone?


    He thought about it for a moment and realized that it was all for that man overseas. Instantly, he recalled the photo he saw from the news article earlier that day. His eyes darkened significantly.


    After Castiel left, Niamh copsed against the door, and her body slid down to the floor. The cold demeanor she''d been unting vanishedpletely-it was as if it was nothing but a mask she''d put on. The three months she had spent abroad had been the most peaceful in her life. It was filled with a sense of homely warmth she hadn''t felt in years-a warmth she thought she would find with Castiel.
