Chapter 201

Lemira finished speaking, her gaze fixed intently on Lucian.

She watched as his expression shifted from anticipation to hesitation. A cold smirk yed at Lemira''s lips. This reaction was entirely within her expectations. Suchck of sincerity, and they expected her to stay with the Langstons?

Lucian struggled to find words, torn between two choices. ric intervened, "Lemira, don''t you think you''re being a bit harsh? It''s us who owe you, not Eve, right?" Oh, please.

The amusement in Lemira''s eyes intensified. She said that deliberately in an attempt to tear off the Langstons'' mask of hypocrisy.

At this, Evelina bit her lip and said, "Lucian, ric, it''s okay. I can leave. Growing up with you has been more than enough for me. If it means Lemira wille back, I''m willing to move out."

Asher was the first to object, "No way, what does that make us then? Your father saved Lemira''s life and died in that car ident because he went back to save our parents. How could we possibly abandon you?" Bringing Evelina into their home was meant as a gesture of gratitude.

Evelina lowered her eyes, feeling somewhat guilty. She had always thought her father was dead, but the man she had recently contacted, though she hadn''t met him, sounded so much like her father through their conversation!

If her father wasn''t dead, then who died in that car ident? And why had her father been living incognito for so many years? What secret was hidden behind that ident?

She had asked the mysterious man, but he disclosed nothing, only asking her for money.

These suspicions shed through Evelina''s mind, but she dared not show them. Fearful of the Langstons discovering the truth, she couldn''t risk losing her privileged life! This secret was suffocating her.

Now, with Asher bringing up her father again, Evelina felt increasingly anxious, afraid of any unforeseenplications.

Hearing Asher''s words, Lemira responded ndly, "If that''s the case, then there''s nothing more to say."

Asher''s tone hardened, "Lemira, if you insist on leaving in a huff, then don''t bothering back, and don''t expect any financial support from the Langston family."

"Fine, but since we''reying everything out, I have something to say too."Content provided by N?velDrama.Org.

Lemira pulled out a document from her bag, "This is a severance agreement. I''ve already signed it."

She had almost forgotten she brought the document to the hospital amidst all the unfolding drama. Had Asher not mentioned severing ties, it wouldn''t have even crossed her mind.

    The document nowy before everyone.

Lucian, standing closest, saw it most clearly. The words "severance agreement" pierced his eyes, filling him with an unbearable pain. Lucian felt as if a weight pressed on his chest, his voice hoarse, "Lemmy, do you really have to be this heartless?"

"Lucian, let''s get one thing straight, I''m not the one who initiated this eviction."

Lemira tossed the document at Lucian and turned to leave.

Lucian reached out to catch it but grasped at air, much like his failed attempt to keep Lemira by his side.

    Asher, observing the document on

the floor, was visibly astonished. He

looked incredulously at Lucian and ric

In the past, had he told Lemira to leave and note back, she would have never dared defy him.

But now, not only had Lemira left, she even threw down a severance agreement, signed and everything! This was no longer a tantrum; she was serious.
