The next days were spent visiting the various different species’ nexuses.


    They visited the home worlds of aliens that looked like Dwarves , Grey’s , a larger version of Grey’s and gnomes .


    Since they took their time visiting these worlds , they couldn’t visit them all in one go but were in awe of what they saw .


    Each nexus they visited had there own different style and skyline .


    They marveled at the sight of the animals and enjoyed the local cuisine and drinks .


    Alex gathered recipes and seeds for Sam’s brewery while Helena did the same for her restaurants and farms .


    The species that looked like Dwarves were born engineers and industrious , and they saw the weirdest creations while walking through their cities .


    When they visited the species that looked like Grey’s , they were surrounded by a bunch of them who wanted to know everything about their species and asked the most curious questions , from the food they ate to their mating rituals.


    When one of them took out a contraption that looked too much like a probe according to Alex , they left in a hurry to the next species’ Nexus world .


    The larger grey’s they visited seemed quit and observant , Alex and Helena noticed that they seemed to be immersed in various research or reading since all of them seemed to be carrying some kind of holographic pads , which they interacted with when they were standing still or sitting at a bar or restaurant .


    Their skyline was fascinating , to say the least .


    Even during the day , a planet similar to Saturnus was visible , and at night the skyline looked to be immersed in a sea of stars .


    When they visited the species that looked like gnomes , Helena could barely hold her laughter and murmured , “Gnomes rule”.


    They looked adorable according to Helena , and they seemed very outgoing .


    Like the dwarves , they busied themselves with all kinds of engineering , and the weirdest things could be seen even on the streets .


    In this way , 9 days passed in real time while they were visiting the different species’ home worlds and moons in the Nexus .


    They even visited colonized star systems , which made Alex think about the future .


    When they were about to visit the next species on the list , Da’grass said something that shocked both of them to the core .


    “Let me be the first to congratulate the soon to be parents .


    According to my readings Miss Helena has been successfully impregnated” said Da’grass .


    “What did you say , Da’grass ?” replied Alex , shocked .


    “Are you sure ?” asked Helena .


    “I said congratulations on a successful pregnancy,  and yes , I’m sure .

    Alex couldn’t even mutter a word ; dumbfounded , he looked at Helena who was as shocked as him .


    Helena logged of without saying a word and returned to the real world .

    “Thanks for the suggestion , Da’grass , but I need to think” answered Helena and she left .


    Alex , caught by surprise , was too late to stop Helena from leaving , and his legs refused to comply .


    When his legs once again responded to his commands , Helena was nowhere to be found .


    Helena sent a message asking to be left alone for a bit to think .


    She would come back once she made up her mind , she stated in the message .


    Like this , Alex , left alone in the house , started thinking about the situation himself .


    Hours passed , and the day was coming to an end .


    He still hadn’t heard anything from Helena .


    Worried , he sent a message to Helena asking when she would be back .


    “I’ll be back when I’m done .


    I’m with my mother” she replied .


    Somewhat relieved he answered, “okay , just to let you know , I’ll support you with whatever decision you make” .


    She didn’t reply , and just like that , evening turned into night and night into day.


    Alex , who was unable to sleep , awaited the moment that Helena would return.


    “Alex , the ship with Sam is turning back .


    Every moon and planet that could be integrated into the Nexus has been” said Da’grass .


    “Ok , thank you for letting me know , Da’grass” replied Alex .


    Now I just need to hope that Sam doesn’t break my nose when he hears the news…


    At that moment , Alex heard the door opening and he rushed to the door .


    “Sorry I let you wait for this long .


    I fell asleep at my mother’s place” said Helena.


    She said she didn’t let you know because she wanted you to stew for a bit .


    Alex gulped .


    I’ve thought and talked with my mother about it and decided to keep them .

    “Before you finish , let me assure you that I will be there for you and the children” interrupted Alex .


    I might not have expected this and was caught by surprise .

    These children might not have been in my plans for the foreseeable future , but I’ll love them at least as much as I love you .


    I’ll be as good as a father as I possible can .

    At this , Helena started to smile and looked radiant in Alex’s eyes .


    “I was hoping you would say something like that” answered Helena .


    My mother told me she would help us raise them , but since we don’t lack funds and have our own things to do , she mentioned that it wouldn’t be wrong to hire someone when the time comes for caring for them when we can’t .


    I don’t know anything about caring for children , so I’m happy you’ll be there to share the responsibilities .


    Don’t get me wrong , I’ll be the best mother possible , but I’m scared to do it wrong .


    “I understand well enough” answered Alex .


    I’ve never been as scared and happy at the same time as now .


    “We are going to be parents” stated Alex while he looked Helena in the eyes .


    “And we’ll do it together” said Helena and she kissed him .


    My mother wants to see you , and she’s happy to become a grandmother .


    “She joked about it long enough” answered Alex and he started to laugh , feeling the built up stress fall away .


    “That she did” laughed Helena .


    The next in line is my brother .


    “Speaking of your brother , his ship is returning” answered Alex .


    “When will he back ?” asked Helena .


    “He’ll be back in two days” answered Da’grass .


    “And let me congratulate you again on your pregnancy now that you’ve decided to keep them” .


    “Thank you , Da’grass !” replied Helena .


    “Yeah , thanks!” answered Alex .


    Maybe we can organize a get together when your brother is back , and we can announce it to everybody we consider friends in our newly bought penthouse .


    “That’s a good idea , but first I’ve got an important question for Da’grass” stated Helena .

    “Can I still drink alcoholic beverages while in the nexus ?” asked Helena .
