Chapter 68: Chapter 67 What NPCs Should Do

    Deathly silence, deste.

General Atrang rode his warhorse into the apocalyptic dimension of legend, and what hit him first was a stench of decay that made him want to vomit.

Years of military life had ustomed him to such stenches, but what about the enemy?

General Atrang looked out across the in—the battlefield was empty, save for corpses… with only a solitary, towering city wall in the distance.

He had thought this silent dimension would be teeming with demons, insectoids, abyssals, chaos monsters—the church members in Marshal Amut’s team had even brought a massive amount.

But it seemed there was nothing in this dimension, except for corpses and only corpses, along with a group of delightfully hopping saviors.

    No, wait!

The warhorse ridden by General Atrang suddenly became extremely restless; a strange magic power stirred beneath the ground, making the entire surface tremble slightly.

    “My lord… the corpses… they’re moving!”

    “An undead army?”

General Atrang watched as the soldiers’ corpses in the distance, using their shattered weapons to prop themselves up, slowly rose from the deste earth, some even defying gravity to stand back up.

He locked his gaze on a heavily armored zombie, whose head also turned toward General Atrang. The zombie soldier raised its sword in an almost slow-motion manner, aiming it at General Atrang, and the next second, crimson mes ignited in its pupils, the Soul Fire zing.

“Prepare for battle, all forces!” General Atrang immediately issued the order, with the front line of soldiers lifting their shields to defend before him.

    “Archers! Mage squad!”

The general continued to issue orders, nning to engage the zombie army in a positional battle.

Suddenly, from the sky, an oval bomb three meters in length plummeted down…

“That’s an alchemical bomb called a quantum bomb! Tell your men to close their eyes! Quickly!” The Gun Knight’s warning rang out in front of General Atrang.

But it was already toote… The quantum bomb precisely struck the most densely packed area of resurrected zombie soldiers, the intense sh of light blooming across the battlefield followed by the explosion.

General Atrang only felt a sharp pain in his eyes…

“What is that thing! An enemy’s weapon?” General Atrang asked loudly.

“A high-level skill of the vocational ss known as Gun Master within the Holy Spirits,” replied the Gun Knight loudly.

    “Holy Spirits?”

Atrang forced his eyes open, only to discover thirteen more of the same quantum bombs now present on the battlefield.

“Damn it!” General Atrang felt his eyes were nearly blinded by the bombs, and it wasn’t over yet… The entire battlefield’s temperature plummeted suddenly, with several battlefields in the distance caught in an ice-cold storm and deep purple ck Holes.

“They really show no mercy!” the Gun Knight said loudly again.

    “What now?”

“Extreme Ice Banquet and Annihtion ck Hole! High-level skills of an Elemental Master!”

General Atrang couldn’t hear what the Gun Knight was saying anymore, as on the other side of the battlefield, roars as fierce as tigers erupted.

Magic Power… In Atrang’s view, a fierce tigerposed of Magic Power was ravaging the battlefield.

“Ferocious Tiger Shakes the Earth, I remember this move!” the Gun Knight said again.

“I now understand the power of these holy spirits! But can their battle have even a bit of organization?”

General Atrang raised his voice and shouted at the Gun Knight, as the battlefield environment hadpletely turned into a chaotic mess, with various skill effects flying wildly across the field.

In General Atrang’s envisioned positional battle, it had be a chaotic street fight, or rather, a war simply fought with magic spells being hurled at each other.

“Move out of the way! You NPCs are blocking my path!”

Just as General Atrang raised the question, a vehicle equipped with a drill descended from the sky, sounding like a tractor with a ‘tut tut tut’ noise, speeding towards the distant battlefield.

The emergence of this vehicle also caused the formation that Marshal Atrang had so painstakingly organized to copse on its own.

“That vehicle is a Frost Drill Rig, something a profession called Magic Schr would create, and the holy spirits fight individually, only a small portion of them form teams,” the Gun Knight continued to educate General Atrang on the living habits of these holy spirits.

“These NPCs are blocking the way, can you please make way?”

General Atrang had just heard a muffled sound from behind and turned his head to look, almost drawing his sword to sh at the holy spirit.

In fact, a soldier had already lost his patience and tried to do so, but missed.

    A demon… a two-meter-tall demon

“A demon! Why is there a demon here!” General Atrang yelled incredulously, and he prepared to swing his sword but the Gun Knight stopped him.

“That’s an Avenger, a profession branch chosen by the priests among the holy spirits, I’ve inquired about this profession as well, although they say they have given their soul to the demon… but… how should I exin it.” The Gun Knight really didn’t know how to exin.

But the Avenger yer, who was bearing a He Tu ID above his head, nced at the overly stressed General Atrang.

“You can tell you’re balding because of the stress, so out of camaraderie, I’ll give you a heal,” he kindly released a slow healing spell on the general.

Under the slightly copsing gaze of the general, the demon used his sharp ws to touch a magic spot filled with the aura of Holy Light on his head.

Then he felt the baptism of the Holy Light.

After releasing his healing ability, the Avenger yer turned and ran towards the distant battlefield without looking back.

“I still suggest that the soldiers under yourmand make way for those holy spirits,” the Gun Knight said, ncing at the holy spirits pouring out from a temporal rift.

“Then what did we bring soldiers for?” asked General Atrang, puzzled.

“The Tower Spirit told us only to hold this ce and provide certain support to the holy spirits, we can sell some potions to the holy spirits when necessary, and if you offer magic stones as reward, you canmission those holy spirits to undertake some tasks.”

The Gun Knight began teaching General Atrang how to properly be an NPC in an instance.

“This situation applies if the soldiers under yourmand get lost in this apocalyptic ne,” the Gun Knight added.

    “You trust these unknown saviors?”

Listening to the Gun Knight’s description, General Atrang felt as if he was being told to put down his weapons and just wait for victory toe.

But those ghouls were not ordinary undead, they endured several powerful abilities from the holy spirits without going down.

“If you n to join in this melee, I won’t stop you. His Majesty the King instructed me to hold the ne of the Tower of Trial, not to attack, and your strategies for the Dark me Country are unrted to us,”

the Gun Knight said, pointing to the battlefield afar, where explosions, frost, and hurricanes intertwined.
