Chapter 78: Chapter 77 For Fureya
Mo Shigui hurriedly opened the letter and found some distorted characters inside. The characters were Chinese, which he could understand, yet they were written very poorly, like a child who had just learned Chinese.
Just learned… Chinese?
The first line that caught Mo Shigui’s eye in the letter was ‘Dear Holy Spirit, learning yournguage is harder than I imagined… I barely learned a small part, enough for you to read this letter.’
Did Fureya practice Chinese hard to write this letter to the yers?
If Mo Shigui remembered correctly, the Holy Spirit World had its ownnguage, and the only reason yers couldmunicate with the NPCs of Holy Spirit was due to the system’s built-in trantion capability.
But that was just a setting in the background story, yet this letter from Fureya gave Mo Shigui the feeling that the boundary between dimensions had been shattered, as Fureya’s character was aware of yers from another world.
‘By the time you read this letter, my memory might have already disappeared… This is my punishment, the punishment for betrayal. They warned me to keep my distance from you, but… I couldn’t.’
Mo Shigui read the contents of the letter carefully, the only thought in his mind being… Was this letter really written by Fureya, or by a programmer from the creators of the Holy Spirit game?
Logically, Mo Shigui should believe thetter, considering it merely a quest reward item designed to help yers understand and immerse themselves in the plot. Thus, this emotionally touching love letter could just be the creation of some bald programmer well-acquainted with yer psychology.
But is the game Holy Spirit really that simple?
After all this time, it was hard for Mo Shigui to believe that Fureya had no thoughts of her own.
The signature of the letter stated, ‘They won’t let me have self-awareness.’ This thrust Mo Shigui back into deep contemtion.
While Mo Shigui was reading this letter, a private chat message suddenly popped up; it was from Rain Song.
‘Guild Leader, check this post.’
The link Rain Song sent was to thetest post by Dancing Star Writers, titled ‘My Doll Sister Has Lost Her Memory! But I Discovered Her Hidden Plot.’
Mo Shigui clicked on the post and found it was full of long paragraphs, prompting the thought ‘too long; didn’t read’ in his mind.
‘Do you know Dancing Star Writers?’ Mo Shigui sent a private chat message to Rain Song.
Mo Shigui knew that Dancing Star Writers was very knowledgeable about Holy Spirit’s storylines. The task of Fureya’s Intentions was not yetplete; there was a second phase of the quest left to aplish, although thepletion conditions were still unknown.
‘I know him.’ Rain Song replied in less than a second.

‘Pull him to join the instance.’
Mo Shigui sent back a message and, tucking away the letter, walked towards the cathedral of the resurrected.
In less than ten minutes, Dancing Star Writers had been brought by Dancing Nuclear Guild to the entrance of the Divine Fragments instance.
Dancing Star shrank a little, surrounded by the towering Shield Warriors of Dancing Nuclear, looking mini in stature as his character was a Mage.
In front of a group of heavily armed Shield Warriors not showing any fashion items, Dancing Star’s character, dressed in a snowman costume, looked… extremely weak, helpless, and pitiful.
‘Dancing Star, what exactly is going on with the quest storyline of Fureya’s Intentions? Tell me the details,’ Mo Shigui asked bluntly as he approached.
‘Mo Shigui, did you manage to resurrect your wife?’ Dancing Star’s confidence surged when asked about the game storyline by Mo Shigui.
‘…Resurrected.’ Mo Shigui was still reluctant to call Fureya his ‘wife,’ but he had to admit the game nners of Holy Spirit were impressive.
A series of storylines and quests had indeed made him genuinely fond of the NPC Fureya.
‘But she doesn’t remember you, right? Same here, but ording to my research on the plot, looking at the background story of Holy Spirit…’
‘Get to the point! How do Iplete the second stage of Fureya’s Intentions?’
Mo Shigui interrupted Dancing Star’s endless babbling; he just wanted to know how toplete the second stage task.
“Hepleted the instance of the Divine Fragment War.” Starry simply and directly told Mo Shigui the method toplete the second phase of the mission.
“Why?”
Mo Shigui raised an eyebrow, unable to understand what connection there might be between Queen Mei and the doll girl, and wondered if it was a setting made by the nners to force yers to game intensively?
“You should listen to my exnation, I already posted on the forum about my deductions for the uing plot, and now I’ll exin it again.”
Starry proudly took out a piece of letter paper from his bag.
“This letter is a love letter that Fureya wrote to me,” Starry said.
“Are you sure it’s not a suicide note?”
Ion Spark, who had been listening, interjected at this point.
“It’s a love letter! The item name is ‘Letter Filled with Admiration’ so it’s definitely a love letter!” Starry forcefully corrected Ion Spark and continued, “This letter reveals Fureya’s feelings and a hidden plot in the main Holy Spirit storyline! I won’t beat around the bush any longer, your doll girl wants to elope with you!”
“What does elope mean?” someone in the guild team asked.
“In the backstory, the doll girl was created by the cult of Lionheart City. This cult outwardly worships the Sea Blue Goddess, but they actually want to steal the Sea Blue Goddess’s power,” Starry said as he showed Mo Shigui and the others several records he found in the library of Lionheart City.
“Fureya is a vessel for the Sea Blue Goddess’s power. The surface story of the game is about Holy Spirits collecting world fragments to fix this broken world, but the hidden story is actually that the doll girl wants to evolve into a real human using the world fragments. However, the cult behind the scenes doesn’t allow the doll girl to have such thoughts and thus erased her memory,” Starry exined.
“A cult? I feel like it’s the shadowy nners who erased it.”
“This letter was also written by the shadowy nners, but when are people from the cult entering the instance?”
Mo Shigui listened to the discussions of the guild members, but he still felt no emotional disturbances inside.
“Simply put, win the Divine Fragment War, and bring back the ‘Divine Fragment of Sea Blue’ item to the doll girl, and she will gain the power to rebel. Not only can her memory be restored, but you can also elope with the doll girl, which should be the method to unlock the second phase of affinity,” Starry disclosed his final deduction.
“I remember this item can be obtained afterpleting the Divine Fragment War mission, and it was originally supposed to be given to the King of Lionheart City,” Ion Spark mentioned.
“That’s the surface main storyline; the hidden storyline is to give it to the doll girl. You can still receive the same reward, but the story is different. There will definitely be an instance to kill the old king released after this Divine Fragment War is over,” Starry Schr concluded, then looked at Mo Shigui.
So ruthless.
After hearing Starry’s narration of the Holy Spirit main storyline, the only thought in Mo Shigui’s mind was these three words.
These three words were in praise of the Holy Spirit game’s story. From a yer’s perspective, the main storyline of Holy Spirit is mundane, a typical yer as the world savior storyline which many yers in online games usually don’t care about.
But with Fureya’s betrayal in this hidden story, Mo Shigui had been fully immersed in the story of the Holy Spirit game.
The sense of immersion was truly profound, and Fureya’s character’s portrayal broke through the fourth wall; just the fact that the doll girl learned Chinese specifically to write you a letter could touch the hearts of many yers.
So he decided to help Fureya, to restore her memory, and to help the doll girl fulfill her wishes.
This thought turned into an inner impulse.
“What should we do, president?”
Rain Song asked, as the yers of the Dancing Nuclear Guild were already eager to try.
“We’ve been fighting continuously for twelve hours. Anyone who wants to sleep, just say so,” Mo Shigui asked in the guild channel.
“Never mind, president, we’re still spry. We’ve already had dinner and are ready to continue the instance,” someone replied.
“Then let’s go until dawn the next day. The target is the first kill of Queen Mei!” Mo Shigui brandished his shield and charged into the Divine Fragment War instance.
